Abacus : Calculation at your fingertips
Tumblr media
The term ‘Abacus’ has been derived from the Greek word, ‘ABAX’ which means counting table. It was invented by Tim Cranmer. The discovery of this tool has proven to be a boon for those who struggle with number crunching. Many of us, including me feel quite nervous or lack confidence when doing simple & basic Math calculations like, 8+6 or for that matter, simple multiplications. When you are not able to ace a particular task, doesn’t mean that you are weak at it, you just need to put in more effort.
I remember, on very first day of school & college during the Math lecture, the very first question that our subject teacher used to ask was, “How many of you are SCARED of Math” and almost 60% of the class had their hands raised up. When we are scared of something we find an excuse to run out of the problem, because we are not sure about the outcome. The same theory goes for Math, it seems that the subject conveys a powerful message like, you can love me, you can hate me but you can’t ignore me, true that! In every career choice, at some point you will be asked for application of math, you can’t run away from it, just find a way to deal with it. Make learning fun by using Abacus for it.
Abacus helps you to solve basic and complicated math at your fingertips. The Abacus tool has beads & a rod, it represents the units’, Tens, Hundred’s. It makes a process easier, and once you get the hold of that tool and with thorough practices, you can even do mental calculation, making the calculation process lot faster. The Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication & Division at your fingertips plus fun guaranteed. Be clear with basics and Abacus will definitely help you to overcome the fear of Math as a subject and will boost your self-confidence.
Benefit of using Abacus tool:
1. It helps you to get command on Math:
Math is not a subject, where you can just learn the formula and boom you become a professional, it takes time and rigorous practice because different sums require different application. Abacus teaches you techniques which can be universally applied thereby giving you an upper hand to have command at it.
2. Increases the retention power & improves concentration:
At the very beginning of Abacus class, you are asked to solve some exercises which includes, using both your hands to write number, several images are to memorized. When you constantly work on these things, you generate a photographic memory which helps in improving concentration and memorize images.
3. Boosts Self-Confidence:
Abacus system has a global approval because of which there are various competitions which are conducted at State level, National level & international level. When you enroll for the Abacus class, you are being trained to participate in such competitions. It offers you a platform to showcase your skills, thereby boosting your confidence.
4. It improves speed and accuracy:
When you visually solve a math problem, automatically your speed increases, and with the right amount of practice, you deliver the accurate results. As mentioned earlier, there are various exams which are conducted, the purpose of the exam is to test your speed and accuracy, you are asked to solve a certain set of sums within a stipulated time period and Abacus helps you to optimize your time in solving those questions.
5. Enhances your listening skills:
Mental calculations are the part of Abacus training, students need to pay a closer attention to the numbers & on the mathematical expression which teacher dictates. It further enhances the listening ability.

Benefits of Vedic Maths. Why it is Important?
Tumblr media
BENEFITS OF VEDIC MATHS. WHY IT IS IMPORTANT?
The concept of Vedic Mathematics for kids is important for many reasons. It improves their intelligence level, concentration and focus. It enhances their ability to concentrate which in turn fosters better memory. The recent research shows that Vedic Mathematics makes a child smarter by developing his/her brain to think better and faster.
Tricks- memorization and faster computation
There are many benefits of learning Vedic math. One of the main ones is that it helps you in memorizing and faster computation. This can be done by doing so called kalpanaka-karma. This means that while memorizing a particular word or phrase, you have to repeat it over and over again until you have learnt all its sounds, words and meanings perfectly. The same process is applied when studying other languages too; this helps us learn faster because our brain gets accustomed to repeating things over and over again without getting bored or confused with them!
Another great benefit of learning Vedic Maths is its ability to help children learn about numbers at an early age which will later help them develop their mathematical skills better than those who did not study such subjects during childhood days (or even earlier).
Memory building : mathematical tables etc
The Vedic maths method of learning tables is very effective. This system has been developed by the Vedic scholars and it is based on the concept of memory building. It was used to teach children mathematics, economics etc.
This system helps in teaching kids math as well as other subjects like physics, chemistry and biology at an early age. Mental maths is a skill that is important for every student. It can be used to solve problems faster than using a calculator, and it's useful in real life situations. Using mental maths can help with test scores, schoolwork and other tasks!
Attractive method, kids find it interesting
Vedic mathematics is a fun way to learn maths. It's easy to understand and learn, easy to remember, and it can be used in real life situations.
The main advantage of this method is that there are no numbers involved in its solving system. Instead, they use symbols like: * (8), * (10), * (20), etc., which can be easily memorized by kids as well as adults.
Another advantage of Vedic Mathematics is that it has been proven effective by many research studies conducted worldwide over several decades now; hence making this method one of the most popular ones among others when it comes down to teaching kids about maths!
Recent research shows that Vedic Mathematics makes a child smarter by developing his/her brain to think better and faster.
It is a fact that vedic mathematics helps children develop their brain to think better and faster. Recent research shows that Vedic Mathematics makes a child smarter by developing his/her brain to think better and faster.
Studies have shown that children who have learnt Vedic Mathematics have been shown to have better memory and concentration. They also perform better in tests compared with those who did not study Vedic Maths.
Vedic maths is a tool that helps children to think faster and better. It helps them be more confident in their ability to solve problems. They also understand the subject better than before because of this tool which has been developed by sages for thousands of years.
Improved Concentration and Focus — Vedic Maths uses ‘mind-body coordination’ which enhances the ability of the child to concentrate, which in turn fosters better memory.
Vedic Maths is a system of mental training that has been used for thousands of years to improve the concentration and focus of children. It uses ‘mind-body coordination’ which enhances the ability of the child to concentrate, which in turn fosters better memory. As you practice Vedic Maths regularly with your child, they will develop this skill naturally over time.
The first step is to teach them how to meditate on their breathing or count 1-10 while focusing on an object (such as a flower). This helps them build concentration over time so that they can then apply it to other tasks such as reading or solving math problems at school
Vedic maths for kids is important for many reasons
Vedic maths is a system of mathematics that was developed in India thousands of years ago. It is based on the number patterns in nature and the way we think.
Vedic maths helps children to learn math at an early age, but also develops their brain and gives them other benefits such as:
The ability to solve problems quickly and accurately (this will help you do well in school)
The ability to understand how things work logically (you'll be able to make sense out of what's going on around you)
Conclusion
If you are looking to teach your child the basics of maths, Vedic Maths is a good option. It will help them develop good study habits and improve their performance in school. But I would recommend that you start with reading before teaching your kid Vedic Mathematics. By doing so, you will be able to identify any concerns related with this subject and address them accordingly before they get serious about learning it themselves!

Straight v/s Oblique Pen (Calligraphy Pens)
Tumblr media
Calligraphy is the art of writing words in an artistic manner and style. Calligraphy is an ancient art and can be dated back to the Roman times. It is a very easy yet skillful art. It helps you build concentration and also teaches you patience.
For calligraphy, you need to have calligraphy pens. Calligraphy pens are specially designed tools for calligraphy. And the pens are divided into two groups - straight pens and oblique pens.
If you're a beginner, it can be difficult to understand which pen is useful. So with this blog, understand what each pen means and which is more beneficial to you. Straight pens are also called dip pens. They are made up of wood, bone and plastic. An external nib is to be attached to the pen. It has ink soaking channels. Every time you use it, you dip it into the ink pot before drawing. The oblique pen is named so due to their appearance. The nib is slightly turned towards the left. The oblique nib helps to create correct angles and write effortlessly. It has an ink pad to fill in the ink.
Straight pens are exclusive to some patterns as Amy and beth. They are useful to draw thin lies but it can get difficult to get angles as all patterns are towards 55-degree angle. It also cannot be used to draw a thicker line and can form difficulties while creating right angles due to its structure and the way of holding. It is good for a beginner, but when you start moving up they are not preferred. Oblique pens are made up of wood handles and the nib is attached parallel to the pen at a slant degree. Due to its slant angle of the nib, it makes it easy for you to hold the angle and create the perfect angles and strokes. It also makes it effortless to draw the patterns. It allows you to draw thick and clear words which help make it look neat and clean. It is the best pen used for calligraphy. Even beginners can start with this pen. It is easily available too.
One feature which distinguishes the two pens is the amount of ink flow regulated by both - as with the dip pens the ink flow is quick and the pen dries quickly and with constant dipping in ink can spoil the pattern of letters. Whereas the oblique pen has a slow ink flow and consistent word patterns which looks neat and consistent throughout!
Considering the above points, it is safe to say that oblique pens are the best to choose for calligraphy users.

7 GOLDEN RULES FOR PRICING YOUR ARTWORK
Tumblr media
Artist doesn't just create art - they create a fictional reality to live in. A portrayal of life in an intricate manner. But living the life of an artist is not easy. Art is like breathing, wherein money is the oxygen for survival. Andy Warhol, the pop art pioneer, perfectly said - Making money is art and working is art and good business is the best art. Pricing is an important aspect of an artist life as its entire progression is dependent on this one factor. So how do you learn the rules of pricing your art? With this blog, explore ways to rightly price your art, while maintaining your work worth of the efforts required behind it.
Compare the rates
It is important to acknowledge your own created art. But also being delusional on pricing doesn't help in the cause. We have all been blessed with the boon if the Internet. Hence to get fair idea research, understand and compare the similar artists their art with yours. Also, every artist has their own art groups. So do not feel inferior to ask your successful friends about how they do the pricing and understand where and how they did their research.
Living demands cash
It's important to understand that your art should make a viable amount for one's survival. Money is the only surviving tool when it comes to living with ease. Since artists don't have a particular day job and art is only a viable source, it's a need to earn regular wages for your art without any dichotomy and transitioning.
Consistent pricing is a must
Consistent pricing is your way to reach higher limits and justify the pricing of your art. It should not fluctuate between studio and galleries and keep varying constantly. Galleries tend to charge 50% that the actual price and gain the profit but that makes you put up for an accurate price ranging and it should also be considered that the pricing is not too heavy for the studio when you price it for the gallery. Or else it can be misinterpreted for a copy or fake art and may reduce the sale of your art due to inconsistent pricing.
Feelings are not facts
Don't let feelings overpower your senses of pricing. Pricing is an important aspect and feelings can critically affect your notion of the right charge for your art. It is a need to know what your art is worth and not attaching any feeling while adding the price to it. If you're too much attached to a particular art, you should never put it out for sale.
One shoe doesn't fit all
You have to be obliged to have a price range varying according to your art. Not every art form and art piece can cost the same value. The price range can differ with the size, shape, and design. Many intend to use the price formula and calculate the right price for the artwork available.
Transparency is a must
Maintaining transparency about the prices of your artwork with your customers is very important. As without transparency, it becomes hard for one to achieve a loyal base of customers as the prices approach every individual different manner from one other. Also up fronting your prices on the selling desk with the prices, shows your integrity and belief you hold in your art. It also gives the side of your confidence in regarding the artwork and its right value.
Confidence is the key
Confidence in the pricing of your own art is a very important aspect. It generally occurs that a question of - why this so expensive? will arise always. You must be always ready to justify and have a standard answer to them. This not only helps you to sell it but exuberates the confidence you have in your artwork.
