kelly piquet and max verstappen? no, there was a time — for several years — that it was kelly piquet and daniil kvyat. while they were never on the grid simultaneously, they were always together, be it when daniil was in the toro rosso or red bull, or kelly when she was in the williams or the red bull. it came as a shock to everyone when they announced their split. because, well, they have a kid: a bright, beautiful and sweet girl named penelope. what business did max verstappen have being involved with red bull driver, kelly piquet, right after the end of that relationship?

kelly piquet (red bull driver): daniil and i split a very long time ago. we are doing great at co-parenting penelope. she understands that we no longer live in the same house. she has handled it very well up to now, even with the addition of max into our little family. it should be a good sign, but it's kind of worrying, realistically.

penelope lies across the sofa with her head on daniil's lap as they watch the program on the television screen. penelope lifts her head and turns to lie on her stomach, resting her cheek on his clothed lap and looks up at him.

"are you coming with mummy and me to bahrain?"

"aw, p," daniil sighs, brushing away the hair that's fallen on her face. "you know i don't work in formula 1 anymore, right? i race other cars now."

"yeah," penelope sighs. "but you used to come with me to mummy's races."

"uncle max will take you with him," daniil laughs. it's funny because they'd just had this same conversation last night right before she fell asleep. perhaps it was the sleepiness taking over her and now she doesn't remember the conversation ever happening?

or maybe she's asking one more time for good measure.

penelope purses her lips and raises an eyebrow. "uncle max isn't my new daddy, is he?"

"do you not like him? i thought mummy said you were getting along well?"

"i do." she scrambles to sit up and sighs, throwing her head back. "what am i going to do while mummy is racing? what if i get bored? there's no one to play with!"

"silly!" daniil laughs, hands grabbing her stomach to tickle her. penelope shrieks, shrivelling up into a ball as she tries to fight his hands. "uncle max will be with you!”

max verstappen (head of rbr advertising, kelly piquet’s boyfriend): the goal isn’t to be her dad. she already has one, so that’s not what i’m here for. but we do get along well! she’s a very lovely kid.

daniil kvyat: p always talks about max and how much fun he is. she’s always liked him in the red bull garage, so there’s no hard feelings there.

“maxie!” penelope shrieks, throwing her arms around max’s legs.

“oh, hey, mate,” daniil greets him with a handshake and a hug. “how’s everything been?”

max smiles. “pretty good!” he looks down at penelope. “did you have fun at your dad’s, p?”

penelope nods before running into his apartment. “yeah! we went to the water park!” she holds her arms out. “where’s the cats?”

“p, be gentle with the cats!” daniil calls out into the apartment before looking at max apologetically. “i’m sorry, mate. she really missed the cats. even begged me to get one so that she’d have cats in two homes.”

max presses his lips together. “it’s a trap. don’t get cats, mate. they’re amazing, but god.”

daniil laughs, handing max penelope’s bag. “i seriously considered it for a while! but i won’t be around much, so it seems cruel.”

“i know what you mean,” max grins. “i saw you’re driving for prema this year in wec! congrats, mate!”

“it’s exciting! how’s the red bull car?”

max shrugs. “haven’t seen it yet. next week, maybe. right before the public launch.”

daniil sighs. “well, i’ve got to run. i’ll see you next weekend to pick her up! be safe!”

daniil kvyat: we’re all adults. no reason to harbour feelings just because he’s with my ex-girlfriend.

❝do you think penelope will try and be a racer herself like her mum? or do you reckon she’s got no interest in the racing scene like both of you?❞

kelly piquet: preferably not! [laughs] it’s such a cutthroat sport — i’d prefer if she didn’t subject herself to this kind of stress. but i’ll support her if she wants to.

penelope jumps off the couch. "can we watch tv?"

daniil walks out of the kitchen with two cups, both filled with orange juice. he walks over to the small girl cuddled up on the couch in her pyjamas with a stuffed kangaroo. "what do you feel like watching, p?"

"can we rewatch one of mummy's races?" penelope asks, slowly moving to hang her head at the edge of the couch. "i want to watch the one where she's racing against auntie jupiter."

daniil kvyat (prema driver for wec, kelly piquet's ex-boyfriend): p has been very fond of jupiter since they met in the garage of the red bull a couple years ago. to p, jupiter is the world champion of her era. she loves roxanne, sure, but she sees jupiter in a whole different light. jupiter and i are on good terms – doesn't really matter to me if p spends time with her.

kelly piquet: actually, i don't want my kid around jupiter. i don't need my sweet baby taking after her recklessness.

jupiter nightshade (red bull driver, 4-time world champion): baby penelope, oscar and i love playing with hot wheels in my garage – i let her win all the time. oscar, though, is quite ruthless.

oscar piastri (mechanical engineering major at the university of bristol, jupiter nightshade's boyfriend): [giggling softly with a hand over his mouth] it's funny. i'm the reigning champion in our hot wheels competition. p doesn't mind, though. she's a good sport.

jupiter sighs, dropping to her knees as she wraps her arms around the young girl. penelope scrunches face face as her hands come up to cover her eyes. behind them, oscar pumps his fist into the air, hopping over to the pair on the ground.

jupiter whirls around slightly, swatting at her dancing boyfriend. she shoots him a glare and gestures at the sobbing girl in her arms.

he clears his throat and wipes the smile from his face. he purses his lips together as he faces the crying girl. "aw, p! i thought you said it was okay if uncle ozzy won?" oscar coos, tapping her shoulder lightly. "do you want to play a second round? i'm sure i won out of pure luck."

penelope peeks from jupiter's shoulder with a hand on her lips. "yes."

oscar piastri: that's what she said to me when we first started playing. how was i supposed to kn– [throws his arms into his lap and sighs heavily] i'm not very good with kids.

kelly piquet: oscar, i like. he's an honest kid. he's the kind of influence i want p around. but i don't know... him with jupiter? she's a bad influence on him. but for some reason, i can't keep p away from her.

max walks into the red bull racing home, a bag over his shoulder with a tiny hand wrapped around his. he looks down at the younger girl and shakes her hand. “excited to visit mummy at work?”

penelope, with one hand on the railings and the other locked in max’s, stomps up the stairs as she hums happily. “yes! i wanna try on mummy’s new helmet. and the car! yeah, her car!”

he laughs, grabbing both her hands and lifting her into the air for the last few steps. he puts her down at the top of the steps and drops her hands. “we can watch from mummy’s garage with uncle christian!”

“you mean grandpa christian!” penelope giggles with a hand in her mouth. she whirls around towards the long hallway stretch and screeches. she takes off, screaming for her auntie jupiter, stopping right by her door.

“p, shouldn’t we find mummy first?”

max could hear kelly’s relentless reminders to him this morning before she had left their hotel room. make sure penelope doesn't find jupiter. but she is a five-year-old: there is no way he will drag her into the politics of everything.

“but we’re already here!” she balls her hands into fists, winding her arm back to start knocking on the door.

but the door opens before she can try and grab jupiter’s attention. a taller figure towers over her, immediately swooping her up into their arms. “baby penelope!”

she screeches and writhes in laughter when fingers dig into the side of her stomach. “auntie jupiter!”

“i thought i heard your tiny little feet against the floor,” jupiter giggles, promptly putting her back on the ground. she drops to her knees to meet the girl’s height and keeps a hand on her back. “how have you been? did you miss me?”

“is uncle ozzy here?” penelope cranes her neck to try and get a glance inside the room. “i brought cookies!”

jupiter looks behind her, finding max smiling at her politely with a paper bag in his hands. “we bought them on the way.”

“uncle ozzy will be here later,” jupiter smiles. “did you enjoy the holidays?”

“yes! i had two christmases!” penelope beams, holding two fingers up to emphasise her point. “i had so many presents!”

jupiter tilts her head. “what new toys did you get?”

penelope’s eyes widen, shaking excitedly in her arms. “i got a new hot wheels set. can we play later?” she grabs the sleeve of jupiter’s shirt. “please? with uncle ozzy? i won’t cry this time.”

the driver laughs. “of course! i spent christmas with uncle ozzy in melbourne. he’s got this koala stuffy that we bought for you; i’ll give it to you later, okay?”

penelope claps, nodding. “okay!”

jupiter nightshade: my dislike for piquet has absolutely nothing to do with baby penelope. daniil and i were teammates a while back, so that also helped, i guess. and how can you not love baby penelope? she is absolutely adorable and delightful! i've got two siblings of my own – both considerably younger than i am – so that experience really helps with my budding friendship with penelope.

venus nightshade (sophomore ferrari driver): my name is venus nightshade – i'm jupiter nightshade's little sister. this is my second year in formula one and i drive with ferrari.

❝venus nightshade, the pole sitter for the baku track finds herself crossing the chequered flag in p5 after a late pitstop. while her teammate, veteran, natalia bunbury won the monaco gp, with fellow rookie, aella gutierrez just three seconds behind in the mclaren.❞

venus stands by the red bull racing home, hands over her eyes as she looks up hopelessly at her older sister. “i don’t understand. i could have converted that pole to a win.”

“they didn’t pit you when your tyres have deteriorated?” jupiter presses her palm against her forehead, pushing her hair away from her face. she has a hand on her hip as she turns away to start pacing. “that’s so stupid! christian never would have missed that!”

“i had no grip on the track so i spun out at the corner.” the younger girl drops her head with a frown. “i’m sorry.”

jupiter halts where she is. she turns around sharply and raises an eyebrow. “why are you apologising?”

venus, with tears in her eyes just sighs. she looks away and turns away from jupiter. “i feel kinda hopeless. i can’t go against the team.”

“yes, you can,” jupiter scoffs with a raised eyebrow. “do you want me to talk to them? fred’s gonna get an–“

“piter,” venus sighs tiredly, shaking her head. “don’t. i’m already talked about enough because i’m related to you.”

“but venus-”

“jupiter,” venus repeats her name in a firmer tone. jupiter finally takes a look at her younger sister and there’s a certain assuredness to her that makes her stand down. “don’t do anything. stay out of this.”

the red bull driver’s shoulder slumps slightly with a soft sigh. she holds her hands up to surrender to venus’s wishes. “okay.”

but when you know you’ve got the power to make at least one person’s life better, you’d do it, right? especially when that person is your little sister trying to make a name for herself in the same sport you’re in? you’d want to see her succeed as much as you have.

“what the fuck, jupiter! i told you to stay out of it!” venus shrieks, throwing her arms into the air. “i’m only a rookie – what right have i got to demand being prioritised over nat?”

jupiter rolls her eyes with an exasperated sigh. “i didn’t tell fred to ‘prioritise’ you. i told him to get his shit together before he loses a good rookie.”

“that’s the same thing!” venus runs her hands through her hair, laughing dryly as she tugs at her roots. “i told you to stay out of it! that’s something i can only say if i can prove to the team that i’m worth considering for the long term.”

“you’ve proved yourself enough,” jupiter answers, shooting her sister an incredulous stare. “you’re almost always on par with nat every weekend. i was trying to help!”

“well, you didn’t! now everyone thinks i’m trying to use my world-champion sister for an easy way out!”

“who said that to you? tell me.”

“jupiter! you don’t get it!”

jupiter nightshade: i was just trying to help her out. i mean, it’s been an ongoing problem with ferrari, right? i can’t speak for nat, but now that my sister’s on the team… how could i have not?

venus nightshade: it’s not the imagine i want everyone to have of me. i want to be respected and climb my way up just like everybody else. i don’t want to use my relation with jupiter to get there.

roxanne castle (aston martin driver, 2-time world champion): i get where venus is coming from, but also jupiter’s side of things. when i started as a rookie, nando was already a driver in f1. he tried his best to make my transition into the sport easier by pulling strings and doing whatever he could. sure, i got a lot of flack for it, but in his eyes, he just wanted to help.

❝reports say that roxanne castle and fernando alonso were avoiding one another at the paddocks today. could the rumours that fernando was pulling strings behind the scenes come to fruition? is it safe to say that it’s coming between their relationship?❞

fernando alonso (2-time world champion): just wanted to see my wife (then girlfriend) succeed. [shrugs] what did you expect me to do?

fernando slightly frowns, glancing at roxanne at the far end of the couch. “pretty good, actually. but, i won’t disappear altogether — i’m helping aston martin with car developments and other things with the car.”

he hears an exasperated sigh from the other end of the couch. he moves slightly and laughs at his wife rolling her eyes.

“she is not very happy with my retirement.”

roxanne picks up her mic and wipes a tear from her eye. “i like being teammates with him.”

fernando grins. “i think i will miss her more than i miss racing.”

roxanne pulls away, tears now falling out of her eyes. “i’m going to miss you, my love.”

“i’m not going anywhere,” fernando laughs, cupping her cheeks. “i will be with you in the garage!”

“not every weekend,” roxanne frowns. “it’s what i’ve gotten used to.”

“mi amor,” fernando pulls her into his arms again. “do not worry. i am your designated bag holder every time i am here.”

it’s not easy, as they’ve reiterated numerous times, to be romantically involved and be racing one another on the track. somehow, they did manage to see it through — they’re married now, duh. but fighting on the track in separate teams is different from being teammates.

roxanne castle: it was a pretty good transition. i think if we were teammates when we were younger, we never would have gotten married.

fernando alonso: she’s right. when i was approached by aston martin, i thought it was a joke. i mean… putting me up against my wife? that has got to be some kind of twisted prank, right? but at that point in our lives — and career — we were mature enough to separate it from our marriage.

racing alongside one another… does that remind you of somebody else?

but that’s a story for another day. fernando’s decision to retire, allegedly, wasn’t taken seriously by roxanne at first especially after his performance with the team.

roxanne castle: it’s unfair. when he told me he was thinking of retiring, i didn’t think he meant now. i tried to convince him otherwise but he said he is very sure about this decision. i will miss him, definitely. we were together almost every weekend — no, everyday — for the past 18 years.

roxanne comes up behind fernando, pulling his shirt down his arms. she wraps her arms around his torso and hums. “i will miss you this weekend.”

“mi amor, i wish i could come with you,” fernando sighs, turning to face her. he watches as she takes a step back, pulling down on his shirt as she starts buttoning it herself. “but they need me at the factory this weekend instead of the paddock.”

“i know,” she sighs tiredly. “it’s just going to be so weird walking in without you.”

fernando laughs. “i know. i feel weird not being there with you.”

roxanne tugs on the shirt and straightens it out for him. “you’ll call me in the evening though, right? then you wouldn’t feel so far away.”

fernando alonso: when i made the decision to retire, all i could i think of is that it’s time to open up a spot for a new rookie… like seb did last year. i’ve had a good run.

he’s right. for once, it actually ended up with a rookie getting the seat. alphatauri is taking a chance on junior driver, charlotte miller, to drive alongside yuki tsunoda this year. kelly piquet’s contract expires at the end of the season; they will all be fighting for that second seat alongside jupiter nightshade.

charlotte miller (rookie, alphatauri driver): i’ve just entered the sport so i don’t really have much high expectations for myself getting that seat. but, i will be working towards that goal to the best of my ability this year.

Below the cut is a description of the night, the party, and basically how it all played out. There are spoilers, as well as a link to the full solution/scenario I used for the inspo of Haven's party, so please read with caution. (There will be a note at the beginning of the paragraph that starts to reveal the answers.)

Note: The characters tagged in this post were not the only people invited to the party. These are just simply the characters of the people that reacted to my post on the discord, which is what I based this summary off of. If you are not someone tagged below and you wanted your character to be there, we'll say they were one of the non-role-playing detectives as listed on the instruction sheet that I used.

In true Haven fashion, the guests arrived at Haven’s house close to 6PM - with the exception of the few that came early to help set up - and where probably not surprised to see the decorations that filled her house. Sure, she could blame the fact that she had an eleven year old at home who was just as obsessed with spooky things as his mother, but, in all honesty most of this was for her party guests. Decorations filled the kitchen and living room mostly, but she’d tried hard not to take away from the snacks and drinks - especially the margarita bar she had placed strategically in the kitchen. It was a lot of work,  but Haven enjoyed this type of thing. 

[This is where I start talking about the party so if you don’t want things spoiled for you, please don’t read ahead.] 

ROUND ONE

As the guests began to arrive and Haven had given them the opportunity to enjoy some treats, she handed out name tags to each guest - all which were selected at random - and instructed they’d be on teams seeing as how there were only 6 suspects and more than that attending her party. Along with the name tags, guests were handed character dossier’s - which they were instructed to remain closed until further told to read -  as well as some business cards with the character’s description on them. The groups went as followed: 

Penelope Ruiz, Orion Blakely, and Ann-Marie Siegert were working together as Dr. Chelsea Barren; the neighbor. @nelxruiz @orionxblakely @ann-marieseigert

Genevieve Hernandez, Stevie Wagner and Apollo Williams were working together as Kathryn Lawless; the friend. @genhernandez @steviexwagner @counselorapollo

Summer Cassidy, River Jackson, and Ali Webster were working together as Enrique Graves; The Farmhand. @summercassidy @riverxjackson @alitwebster

Beyza Senkan and Aindreis Blythe were working together as Michael Nightshade; the land developer. @beyzaxsenkan @aindreisblythe

Julian Heywood, Brady Levitt, and Amerie Chen were working together as Norman D’Adly; the brother in law. @julianxheywood @ameriechen @bradylevitt

And the last group to be assembled was Amayah Fontenelle and Nora Sinclair who were working together as Vicki D’Adly; the sister. @amayahxfontenelle @norasinclair

Once all groups were formed, groups were instructed to flip to their character dossiers (pages 29, 36, 43, 50, 57 & 64) and read only the scenario and who you are sections aloud. You all took turns doing so, starting with Chelsea and ending with Vicki. It is revealed with Michael’s info that a map has been sketched out, and now everyone knows the general layout of the property. To complete Round One, Haven read the scenario aloud, before giving further instructions. “One year ago, Robert Killingsworth bought the farm. Six months later, he was dead - leaving his widow Elizabeth to tend to their fledgling vineyard and winery on the outskirts of California’s wine country. With mounting debts and no idea how to run a  business, Elizabeth is desperate to sell the farm and recoup her losses. The fierce drought and shaky economy, however, have left Killingsworth Farm on the market for far too long. One early autumn day, six people passed through the gates of Killingsworth Farm to see Elizabeth.. One of them, a cold-blooded Killer.” 

Round Two

Once the pages were turned, you all were instructed to read the section titled “The Scenario” aloud, in the same order as before. It is at this time that guests were allowed to begin questioning each other, and Haven suggested that you all take notes so that you could help yourselves figure out who committed the crime. It was revealed when Norman announced they had gone into the bedroom in search of Elizabeth, they found a shrine of Elizabeth’s late husband, and one article caught their attention, revealing the newspaper article that revealed the cash reward which rose the question: who would need enough money to find out the answer, or come forward? Some questions were asked, while everyone made notes and Enrique’s team was challenged by Chelsea’s team when it was revealed that she’d seen him there a lot but he wasn’t checking anything out. Enrique’s team revealed that they were getting Kathryn’s help with homework, and that’s why they were there so much recently. 

Round Three

Haven instructed you all to turn the page and begin reading “The Scenario” aloud, just as before. Questions continue to arise after all things have been read. Michael’s team asked Enrique’s team who the woman was that joined him in the cellar, but it is later understood that it is Chelsea, and that the two were sleeping together. Though, that doesn’t stop Chelsea’s team from noticing that Enrique’s team helped the D’Adly’s with their luggage and noticed the boxes, causing Vicki to reveal that they are staying in their RV and sold their house because of Norman’s debts. It is not revealed that Enrique has a hand written note from Kathryn by a Samuel Friedmont. 

Round Four 

Now onto the fourth round of the game, Haven instructs that you follow the same instructions as before, and to really start to pay attention to what is being told because you are that much closer to finding the answer to the murder. It is revealed during this round that Chelsea saw Vicki head to the wine vault, Enrique was heading to the wine vault with Michael at 5:30PM, Kathryn found a note next to Elizabeth’s body, and Michael revealed he was drinking with Elizabeth when the lights went out in the wine vault. Finally, Norman overheard Michael call Kathryn ‘Aunt Kathryn’ and saw them together in the car, which had Norman’s team questioning it, where he revealed that Kathryn told him to hold onto sleeping pills, and revealed that if Elizabeth wouldn’t sell him the farm, he was to use it. Vicki was caught guard a little when her conversation with Kathryn resulted in a sly grin, and Kathryn’s team had to reveal that she had quit her job at the library that day to pursue Hollywood. 

Round Five 

With the guests in full sleuth mode, things keep progressing quickly. It is revealed in this round that Chelsea’s team had showed the paper that Enrique lost to Elizabeth. Enrique’s team revealed that the day that Robert was killed, Chelsea had had lunch with him and begged him to see her the next day; Robert used the term ‘over my dead body’ would she be allowed on his property again. Kathryn notices that one of the candlesticks in Elizabeth’s study is identical to one that Enrique gifted her months ago. Michael revealed that the handwriting on the bottom of the Samuel Friedmont note from the library is the same as the handwriting on Elizabeth’s suicide note. Norman reveals that he heard Elizabeth and Dr. Chelsea arguing earlier in the day about Robert’s killer, but Elizabeth wanted no part of it, and lastly, Vicki reveals that she saw the empty bottle of sleeping pills next to a corkscrew with the engraving To Elizabeth, I will always love you. Cheers to a new life together.” Questions begin flying as the teams began to figure out who did it, as more and more things are revealed. Once ready, the group opened up to pages 34-69 of their character dossier’s to reveal the answer to the murder. 

Round Six (The Conclusion)

The code words were assigned to each group and one person from each group read allowed the confession statements in order: Kathryn (Mystery), Michael (Mayhem), Chelsea (Murder), Enrique (Malice), Vicki (Mastermind), Norman (Madness). 

Kathryn started off by stating that she was innocent, and that only people that had been in the Rose Garden that afternoon could have access to the murder weapon (a corkscrew which was gifted to Elizabeth by Norman. 

Michael confessed that he was in the Rose Garden, but that he did not pick up the corkscrew, and that his mind was elsewhere because his aunt Kathryn wasn’t the best friend to Elizabeth that she made everyone believe. He stated that Kathryn was trying to inherit the farm through Elizabeth’s death, and that he was no part of the picture anymore; though he did try to kill her, but someone else got to her first. 

Chelsea revealed that she’d been sleeping with Enrique for inside information on Robert’s killer as the two of them (Chelsea and Robert) were having an affair. She struck gold to who really killed Robert - she thought it had been Elizabeth for the life insurance all along - but Elizabeth was having no part of figuring out who it was. 

Enrique revealed that he was the one that killed Robert with a candlestick blow to the head when he tried to have Enrique arrested after his past with drugs came back to surface. He was unconscious at the time of Elizabeth’s death and said ‘his word’ says he wasn’t the one that killed her. The group didn’t hesitate to give him side eyes though (they still aren’t convinced that he’s telling the truth)

Vicki revealed that she had the motive to kill her sister as she was trying to get money to move to Hollywood, and she was tired of being married; she also mentioned that her husband Norman wanted to be part of Elizabeth’s life again. She says she didn’t do it though, that she realized it would be easier to divorce Norman first, and that she’s certain Chelsea was spying on her and can vouch that she is innocent. 

Norman revealed that he saw Enrique and Vicki kissing from the Rose Garden and was so enraged he acted on it; so he flipped on the electricity, shocking Enrique and causing the lights to go out. Because of this, when he picked up the corkscrew moments prior, he used it as the murder weapon, only to realize when everyone was gathered in the Farmhouse that his eyes had deceived him, and that when he thought he had killed his wife in rage, he’d actually killed Elizabeth, his wife’s sister and the only woman he’s ever loved. I guess practically marrying wife’s twin doesn’t pay off after all, does it Norman?

With the reveal, which had been mentioned as the potential outcome by Enrique’s team, the party ended with drinks, snacks and talking. It was overall a great night, and Haven’s already talking about how she can host an even better party next year. 

Teams, who ‘figured out the answer’ and anything that required a selection was done so via random wheel. I did not personally select anything myself.

// For a witch, their familiar is more than just a companion. It is a representation of who they are and their very soul. At a young age, they go through a trial that tests their heart as well as their abilities, and from that their familiar's shape is revealed. They can change shape as needed, but they mostly default to one True Form. Their familiar walks with them through life and is said to guide their spirit to rest after death before reincarnating into the animal that is their True Form.

// According to some sources, some witches may have multiple familiar. This usually happens because said familiars were given to them by other witches. It's very uncommon for a witch to have multiple familiars naturally.

// During the Mythic Wars, Amalgamate stood beside a lot of good witches - many of them friends. At the hour of their death, she was there to comfort them and hold their hands as they passed. Because their deaths were often painful and slow, they did not want their familiars to suffer their pain and used their last breaths to tie them to Amalgamate instead. This had significant meaning, as it meant that their spirits would never rest and be condemned to an eternity in purgatory. Still, she honored their wishes knowing what it would mean, sparing their familiars the agony and allowing them to linger after death.

// To this day, Amalgamate maintains charge over these familiars. She walks with her own three (a large black wolf, a black cat, and a raven) as well as the two of her two closest friends' who cannot bear to be apart from her (a white cat and a little black Scottish Terrier). The rest that she managed to save linger on the ranch near her secret cottage in the woods. Occasionally, they rotate out and join her. Most like to stay at the cottage however, as it's close to the final resting places of their old witch companions.

Well, Here Are Things You'll Never Know

The Gotham rogues gather at an estate for a party hosted by the mysterious Madame Nightshade.

Only, their host has no intention of being a good one.

The sight of the estate's grand entrance was enough to make Penguin jealous. With its green, manicured lawns to the African blackwood doors featuring carved scenes of an epic battle to the statues that overlooked the fountains. It wasn't a stretch to imagine Gotham's newest rogue sat on a pile of gold.

And the interior was just as grand as the exterior. Scarlet velvet drapes hung above the windows and doorways. An expensive, intricately designed rug laid on the floor of foyer while a chandelier made of real crystals hung above.

"Looks like Brucey boy has competition." Penguin stuffed his cigar in his mouth, hoping to avoid any further jealousy.

Catwoman simply looked around, looking for anything she could grab and make off with once the party was over. What kind of person was the host? Who could afford for so many luxurious treasures to be in just one area?

"Cool, isn't it? I neva imagined walkin' into a place like this!" Harley Quinn took her spot alongside the feline thief. Poison Ivy was not too far behind.

Riddler kept his eyes on the chandelier, studying it. Surely the hostess wouldn't mind if it went missing. His sidekicks Query and Echo chatted amongst each other before noticing a familiar face from across the room.

"Eddie, don't look now, but Monochrome's here," Echo whispered.

"Mon lapine." Riddler was already giddy and the party hadn't even started.

But Riddler looked anyway. Sure enough, the mysteriously alluring Monochrome was there with her henchmen.

Her monochromatic hair was styled neatly, giving her a smooth, clean look. And how could he ignore the beautiful black and white dress she wore?

Two Face quietly stood off in the corner. He wasn't too happy about being called out of work to attend the event--even if the invitation did say attendance was mandatory. His plan was just to come, drink a bit, then go home. Simple and easy.

The clicking of heels caught the attention of the guests as a woman came out into the foyer. She had brown hair with sleek gray streaks and green eyes. Her dress was navy blue with matching gloves.

"Hello, everyone. My name is Penelope Richards," Penelope greeted. "Madame Nightshade has been expecting you. Please follow me."

Penelope led them to a large room lined with covered tables full of food on silver platters. On the walls were paintings that would rival those found in the Sistine Chapel. Crystal glasses of champagne and wine awaited them as well as a chocolate fountain. Servants dressed in pricey Italian suits stood off to the sides, ready to meet the demands of the guests.

The other rogues looked around in awe. Just when they thought they'd seen everything.

"Madame Nightshade will be with you shortly. For now, why not enjoy a drink?" Penelope snapped her fingers and servants brought around trays of drinks for everyone.

Riddler kept his eye on Monochrome. The suit he wore was much different from his usual style, but he hoped it would impress the always stylish art thief.

"You know she finds your staring weird."

"Two Face? I never thought you'd come here."

"Don't got much of a choice when the invitation says it's mandatory." Harvey took a sip of wine. Probably one of those super expensive brands no one knew the name of, but damn did it taste good. "What do you suppose this Madame Nightshade wants?"

"Must everything be a conspiracy? Why not it be a simple party?" Riddler turned his attention back on Monochrome, who was talking with Catwoman. "Must there be an ulterior motive to everything in that mind of yours, Harvey?"

Two Face rolled his eyes.

Slow heels walking down the steps caught turned everyone's heads. Three more women descended down a grand staircase.

On the left side was a woman with dark brown skin and curly black hair done into a neat bun. Her dress was purple with a diamond necklace.

On the right was a brown skinned woman wearing traditional South Asian wear. Her hair was black and flowed freely down her back.

In the middle was a woman wearing an elegant scarlet dress with a black fur shawl wrapped around her. Her hair was styled into neat curls. If her appearance told them anything, it was that she's the boss.

Onyx eyes looked down at the guests from the balcony of the staircase. They examined each and every person present; likely making mental note of who's who. Then, they shifted to Two Face.

When Two Face saw the woman's face, the glass in his hand was crushed. Why his days as a DA flashed before him, he couldn't say, but he knew that face the moment she came downstairs.

"You!" He yelled out in anger.

The woman stood tall, not flinching under the anger of his voice. "Hello, Harvey Dent. I'm not that surprised you still remember me."

"Course you're not, Marjorie!" Two Face growled. While the whispers of the others about how they possibly knew each other filled his ears, he blocked them out. Instead, he reached in his side and pulled out a gun.

"Tell the-"

Bang, bang!

Two Face screamed in pain as he felt two bullets enter his shoulder. But he had no time to nurse it as two more bullets entered his other shoulder. He writhed in pain on the ground.

In the woman's hand was a smoking gun. Despite the attempt on her life, her face remained stoic, cool, calm.

"Too slow yet again, Harvey." Frost laced her voice. So calm as though she hadn't just shot a man twice in both shoulders. After returning the gun to its place, she fully put her attention on the guests.

"Welcome. My name is Madame Nightshade." Madame Nightshade raised her head like she were a queen. "I'm glad you all accepted my invitation and graced my home with your presences. However, this is not a party."

Gasps and whispers emerged from the crowd.

Madame Nightshade made her way down to the floor, followed by the other two women. Her eyes shifted from side to side, taking in just who walked into her home. "You may not know me, but I know all of you. Or maybe you do, but do you really know me?"

"What do ya mean by that? What are you getting-" "Oswald Cobblepot. It's wise not to further increase your debt."

Penguin was taken aback by the newbie knowing his real name. She hadn't even turned around when she said it. But his shock quickly turned to anger.

"What debt do I owe you? You just got here!"

Penguin's eyes widened. "The Iceberg Lounge? What's that got to do with you?"

Nightshade's gaze stung the crime lord, forcing him into silence.

"Yours is one of the lengthier ones. But since you wish to test me, fine. Relinquish the Iceberg Lounge to its rightful owner. It's just enough to clear your tab."

The guests were speechless. Madame Nightshade built the Iceberg Lounge? Since when? First Two Face knowing who she was, now this. Just who was this woman?

"Who do you think financed its construction? The workers? The merchandise?" Each word was laced with venom. They sunk their teeth into Penguin, making him uncharacteristically quiet in minutes.

Nightshade went on. "It was my money that built your precious lounge, and I'll have no problem taking it from you--should you wish to see how far I'll go."

Nightshade picked up a glass of wine from a tray. While nonchalantly taking a sip, she looked out into the crowd.

"Come hither, Edward Nashton. "

"Your recent stunt as increased your debt to me. Meaning you owe me over six hundred million dollars." She looked down at him with contempt. It transported him back to his childhood. "Does someone like yourself even have access to the needed money?"

Riddler walked up to her. He did his best to hide the trembling in his body. Once near, he bowed best as he could.

"Y-yes, ma'am?"

"N-no, ma'am."

"Figured," Nightshade hummed. "Especially when I can see all the poor financial decisions you make everyday. How do you expect to have a woman like Mona Lisa Beauvais when all you can afford is Ramen and crackers?"

Monochrome froze when she heard her name. Becoming a target wasn't what she had anticipated for the night.

"For all your genius, money is your weakness. That's such irony." Nightshade continued her lecture.

"I-I can come up with the money by tomorrow afternoon." Riddler sweated. His heart pounded against his chest from feeling her venomous gaze on him. Riddler's knees had been threatening to fail him ever since she called him his birth name.

Once Riddler found his place back in the crowd, the spotlight was placed on Monochrome. Usually she'd be reveling in it, but it felt like she'd been put on trial. Even more embarrassing that she'd just been called Riddler's girlfriend.

Nightshade only hummed in response. While she didn't doubt his capabilities, she surely knew that the task was impossible.

"Of course you will. Return so that I can give my attention to your novia."

Just as she did to the other three rogues, Madame Nightshade set her gaze in on the art thief.

"Just because you're a widow and a mother doesn't mean I clear your tab. But, I do believe yours will be relatively easy to pay since your finances are more sound than your novio's." Nightshade set the glass on the table.

She then took the rest of the time exposing the other rogues and informing them of their debts to her. Honestly, it made her laugh how much these fools didn't know how she'd woven herself into the very fabric of Gotham. No one could separate their money from hers without risking death or financial ruin.

Suddenly, a noxious gas was released.

The air became so thick that it caused the guests to start coughing. Madame Nightshade, however, was perfectly fine. Like she'd experienced conditions like this before.

"Listen closely and listen well: I'm not just a boss in Gotham, I am Gotham. So every bank you steal money from is my money. Every hitman you hire is my hitman." She walked over to an unconscious Two Face and rolled over his body with her foot. Shaking her head in disappointment, she went back to the other rogues. "I own everyone in this city, including all of you and the Batman. I don't expect flattery or worship; but when you are in debt to me, I expect my due."

The ice in her voice sent shivers down the spines of many. She then walked towards a pair of doors leading to an outside balcony. The night air flowed through the room once open, giving the rogues some sense of relief.

"Take this as your first and final warning: Deceive me and you'll never get the chance to do it again."
