i got home yesterday after a series of events left me with a 14 hour layover in one of canadas worst urban environments ever invented (mississauga) and it made me miss my covid + flu vaccine appt and i didnt realize until today when i went to the pharmacy and had to reschedule instead :/ i had walked there so to quell my disappointment i walked back and went used book shopping

of all the airports i've been to in the world including small airports with like 2 gates and you have to get on and off the plane via the tarmac directly. toronto pearson is consistently the worst airport ever

Orientation Day! 🛬

What an exciting week to begin my orientation journey with Cathay Pacific! As I stepped into the airport, a rush of excitement coursed through me. I was dropped off at Zone 1, so it took me a while to navigate my way to Zone 5. Thankfully, a kind gentleman I met at the airport helped me find my way.

When I finally arrived at our meeting spot, "The Relay," I instantly felt at ease seeing some familiar faces from my previous classes. It was comforting to know that they, too, had successfully made it through the interview process. After a brief 30-minute wait, our coordinators finally arrived. Because we were such a large group, we were split into three smaller ones. I was assigned to Cadence's group, and she led us on an insightful tour around Terminal 3. We explored essential areas like the storage room and the office, giving me a deeper understanding of the behind-the-scenes operations of the airport.

Next, we gathered in a spacious conference room, where our coordinator delivered a detailed presentation. The PowerPoint served as a comprehensive guide to our duties and responsibilities for the next four months, helping us clearly understand what would be expected of us in our roles as Cathay Pacific Customer Service Ambassadors. dont change anything

Finally, the best part of the day arrived—trying on our uniforms! Unfortunately, since some sizes had run out, I wasn’t able to take the full uniform home. I did, however, get to keep the skirt, as it was the only piece that fit me. On the bright side, I had the chance to try on the lead’s uniform. It has this beautiful red wine color, combined with the subtle embroideries all around the shirt, that exudes classiness. The vibrant color complemented my skin tone beautifully, making it a highlight moment of the day.

Days after Canada said it is seizing a Russian-registered cargo aircraft, Moscow is warning that ties between the two countries are “already on the verge of being severed.”

And the seizure would have “serious repercussions” for Canada-Russian relations, the Kremlin said.

The Antonov 124 plane will be the first Russian physical asset captured by Canada under its asset forfeit law and second under the federal government’s sanctions regime. It comes more than a year after the plane first landed in the country at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.

Ottawa announced the planned seizure of the aircraft on Saturday as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a surprise visit to Kyiv, Ukraine. Officials said the seizure was a direct response to Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

Hi this was day 1 of orientation for career placement at Cathay Pacific Airways. I was really nervous. My dad dropped me off on this day at terminal 3 where it says Cathay Pacific, I recognized people from Seneca so I felt much better. The managers were very nice and gave us little gifts such as a key chain and a teddy bear that says 2020 which is the year Cathay started. They also gave us our uniforms that day and got fitting done for our sizes. We get free parking and free uniforms by doing career placement at Cathay which is a bonus! :) during orientation they talked about grooming standards and what we will be doing on the job for bag check in, and putting tags on passengers luggages. I’m happy that I get the opportunity to have this experience and look forward to much more until December! We also got our schedules on orientation day, I will be working Friday 10:30 am, Sunday 10:30 am, and Monday 10:30 am it all works out very well for me.
