Um, Joy, hi. I hesitate to ask, but what is a Phangs arc request and why are you getting so many that you can make them a pile out of 700+ emails??? Do you want, like, a banner or something that says "can't answer these!" because I know how to make one.

Phangs arc requests are when I give copies out in exchange for reviews or from the “donate” pile people regularly contribute to via my Payhip.

And lol, thank you. I appreciate that. I’m spending today and tomorrow looking at my workflow and setting up tighter filters on my email to hopefully catch more things.

The arcs are honestly fine. It's the people deliberately censoring words to get around my autofilters that are the biggest problem.

The abuse I just kind of eyeroll at. It’s really quite ridiculous seeing someone tell you to “un@l!ve” yourself or calling me a “m*nchi3”. But it really wears me down when it’s people doing it with health queries.

Some people really don’t like getting my generic “here are some MCAS resources” email and go out of their way to make sure they get my individual attention, even though what they’re asking is answered in the links I provide.

I’m sure it pisses them off no end when I reply to their c3ns0red emails with the same copy-paste response they just got, but hey, if you’re not going to read the things I put time and energy into curating and then send your email again with keywords filtered so my autoresponder can’t catch it, I don’t much care. I feel bad for you, but I will guard my limited time and energy. (and going forward anyone doing that will just get blocked)

Also, most of the time I’m not qualified to do what they want. I can’t diagnose anyone or tell them what meds to take. I’m just a sick bitch sharing the resources I spent literal years curating to try and make things easier for others.

(covid absolutely made this 100% worse. I’ve got so many people reaching out because unlike a few other well known MCAS bloggers I don’t charge for my time or push supplements via my website. I’ll tell you what supplements I use, but I don’t profit from it. Legally, I can’t, but it also just feels a bit morally icky.)

Hopefully when I get around to my website update, having just a page I can easily curate and update as new studies come out will help with this.

And to those who send me apologetic emails saying they tried to find things on Tumblr but the search engine wasn’t working: it's cool. Tumblr doesn’t show me half of my MCAS info posts at this point.

hey,    guys!    this  is  a duo  of  character  templates  that  mimics  the layout of filmbros and girls' favorite social media, letterboxd!    the  first  includes  a  user profile with personal information, favorite movies, recent watched movies and lists. the second features detailed movie reviews and a watching diary with a lot of recently watched films!

this  should  be  fairly  easy  to  edit,    given  the  layers  are  labeled  and  grouped,    though  i  do  recommend  having  basic  photoshop  knowledge  to  properly  edit  these.    the  fonts  used  are  montserrat and    poppins.    they  are  not  included  in  the  download  file, and neither is the coloring psd.

Super excited for the new book, but I'm trying to avoid supporting Amazon where I can help it. I know many authors rely on it for reviews and reach, so is ordering through Amazon the best way to help you, or would waiting for another platform be better to support you directly? Thank you for sharing your work with us!!

You can wait! Amazon does send me the best royalties, but it'll also be up on Payhip eventually if you want to support me as directly as possible! The Payhip won't be set up until release in Decemeber, though, since it's the Pay-what-you-want option. The book will be on other book sites soon tho (!) and the difference between Amazon and other book sites is pretty marginal, so you don't need to worry :)

Hello! Currently my main pen name books are only on Amazon because Kindle Unlimited has an exclusivity clause. I’m sorry! I will definitely post here if I ever take my books off KU and have them available elsewhere.

The only options I have at the moment:

1. My dark alien erotica series (these are shorts 4k - 12k word) is available on Smashwords and Payhip. I’m posting one a month there. You can download as an epub which I believe works on a kobo. You can find the series under my pinned post!

2. I’ll have an ARC call for my next dark alien romance, The Dalgur’s Pet in the middle of the month. The file is sent as an epub and basically you get an advanced reader copy with the intention of hopefully reviewing it if you’re up to it. Will post info here soon about signing up.

3. I’ll have another ARC early next year (hopefully) for a polyam alien romance!

¡Hola hola! Vengo a dejar un par de cositas importantes sobre fechas futuras.

La fecha de salida final de Stereo Hearts será el 28 de febrero. Por razones de salud, el poco tiempo que he podido estar en el pc esta última semana ha sido dedicado al cien por cien en comisiones. Recordatorio de que de ahora en adelante, los skins tendrán cupos menos limitados y tendrán la opción de elegir el tipo de paquete a escoger. Sólo ciertos skins no cumplirán con esta regla y sólo será si son skins reciclados de comisiones o proyectos cancelados.

Marzo: En este mes, me gustaría rehacer el set de tutoriales de haciendo un skin desde cero. Los tutoriales originales no se cambiarán, pero me gustaría hacer un sistema de explicación más exhaustivo de los templates: qué hace cada cosa, cuáles son los templates ‘más importantes’, cuáles se asemejan entre sí, etcétera. Porque lo que veo es que es lo que más asusta a la hora de ponerse con skins y veo a gente partiéndose la espalda tratando de usar el HTML por defecto y sufro. Además, estoy trabajando en tutoriales sobre algunos elementos HTML/CSS más recientes, y uno que cariñosamente llamo JS para newbies. Es posible que este último tarde un poco más porque me gustaría tenerlo peer-reviewed antes de publicarlo.

Do Patreon supporters get early access to your fanfics, fanfic snippets, fanfic BTS, etc? Nope, Patreon is for original works only. If you like my fanfic and want to support me but don't care about my original work, you can sign up for the $3 tier.

Hey, aren't you... Yes, I am @letmetellyouaboutmyfeels but I try to keep this tumblr strictly for posts about my original novels, including answering questions. I will also sometimes reblog fun stuff. For fandom, go to my other tumblr. It's where I'm more active anyway.

Why do you have two separate accounts? I like to be organized, and the idea of mixing 'fandom' with 'professional' too much makes me uncomfortable.

What is your publishing schedule? I'm alternating posting standalones and series installments and hope to publish two books a year. So Pestilence is in September, then a standalone in December, and the next book will be War, then the book after that will be a standalone, etc.

Do you do sales? Yes, I do sales periodically, in conjunction with the release of a new book and at the end of the year.

Why do you only share pictures of your cats on Patreon? I'm a very private person and would like to limit glimpses into my personal life. I love sharing my babies but also want to manage my anxiety and trust issues in a way that is healthy for me.

Will you do audiobooks? I'd like to! It's a priority of mine for sure. I'm currently researching performers to find the best fit for each book, and I want to make sure I have the funds to properly compensate them. I'll announce it here once things are locked in.

How do you build an audience? I don't know. I wrote some fanfics in two popular fandoms right before they exploded in size, and kept writing for fun. I didn't plan anything. It was basically "right place right time."

I cannot credit @thebibliosphere enough because following her tumblr and learning from her posts was beyond beneficial. I never would've had the courage to self-publish if I didn't see her do it first, and be open and generous with her knowledge.

How many books are you working on/do you have planned? The Horsemen Quartet, a trilogy, and five standalones.

What is A Masque of Shadows? That is my magical murder mystery novel, which takes place in a fantasy version of Venice, Italy, and is Game of Thrones meets Murder on the Orient Express starring the grumpiest detective, his spymaster bestie, and various murderous women who can step on me. It's being posted chapter by chapter on my Patreon for subscribers, and will be published in full in e-book and paperback when it's finished with revisions (i.e. my copy editors rip it to shreds).

What about the fanfic? I have not abandoned my fanfiction. That will continue to be free. In fact I hope between book sales and Patreon that I'll have more time for it.

Is there smut in your novels? There might be in the last Horsemen novel. There isn't any planned for the others.

Are you [insert sexuality/gender/mental illness etc here]? I am not obligated to share any of my personal info. I have sensitivity readers who have kindly agreed to be compensated for reading my novels for areas that either don't draw on personal experience, or do but still deal with a subject I'd like a second opinion on.

Why do you use Amazon, which is of the devil? Because there is no ethical consumption under capitalism and too many people use Amazon and Kindle for me to eliminate the payday it provides me. "You can have your principles when you've got a belly full."

I hate Amazon, how do I best support you? You are in good company, I also hate them. My Payhip is the best way. However if you do use Amazon please leave a review! Treat it like an Ao3 comment. I want to see keysmashes.

Why jackals? I shamelessly stole the idea from Seth Myers. Back in the heyday of the pandemic when he was doing online-only videos, he joked about how no matter how pedantic the correction, his viewers would faithfully type "with [their] little jackal paws" into the comment section to set him straight. He made more jokes in videos after that affectionately referring to his viewers as jackals, and it made me laugh so hard I decided to use it for my own.

this might be a stupid question but i figured i'd ask it. i'm definitely gonna buy the spicy red hunger pangs, but i was curious as to what purchase option would give you the most money. i would greatly prefer having a paper copy, but if you're only getting pocket change from barnes & noble, i might as well just get the payhip e book or whatever to support you more directly. is there a major difference between those two for your pay out?

And I earn significantly more from ebooks than print.

Print I get about $1-2 per book, regardless of how much the retailer is selling it for. (If you are in the US, the best place to buy paperback books is bookshop.org, as it provides the best affiliate rates for authors and also supports small indie bookstores. This is my bookshop affiliate link for the flirting edition.)

If you buy a DRM-free ebook from my Payhip, I get to keep 90% of my royalties. If you buy from other platforms, I get maybe 60-70% of my royalties. Depends on the platform.

Really, though, anywhere you buy from is appreciated. Sales rankings and reviews also really help authors because it gets us trending in the algorithms and boosts our chances of organic sales.

So yeah, I earn the most from my Payhip sales. But if you want a print, please buy a print!
