Sadly Puff was taken in by a cryptic con artist--and unfortunately a group of very gullible fans went along for the ride

"In the course of a successful [cold] reading, the psychic may provide most of the words, but it is the client that provides most of the meaning and all of the significance." [emphasis added] --Ian Rowland (2000: 60)

I always suspected that Puff was conned by her “source.” The “tell” that it was a con was the fact that the source used cryptic ways of communicating, much the way that psychics do when they do “cold readings.” 

So after all these years, Puff is finally talking about her “source.” Someone who for whatever reason chose to con her into believing that Sam and Cait were secretly married with children.

After the wedding and now Hawaii-gate, Puff is finally doubting. But despite her doubts, as she presented the story of what her source told her, she sounded like she still believed it might be true.

But her source’s story has so many holes in it you could drive a tractor trailer through it. 

First of all. Cait was NEVER pregnant. 

Cait has always had a little lovely belly as was still evident when she was a thin model 23 years ago in this runway photo from the Patrik Rzepski Spring/Summer 2007 show in New York.

It is this little belly that has led Puff and countless ES astray over the years. All the pregnancy rumors stem from this.

Anyway, according to Puff, Cait gave birth in late July 2016. Here’s Cait on June 29, 2016 at the Creatures Of The Wind Resort 2017 Collection And Runway Show.

Does Cait look 8 months pregnant in these photos to you? Sorry, but there’s only so much that shapewear can do to hide a pregnancy. 

For those of you who want to read debunks of the pregnancy nonsense, I reblogged another post that debunks the pregnancy rumors HERE.  For a more thorough debunk, see this POST.  Furthermore, this POST does a debunk of Puff’s famous “dodge & burn” photo where she “looked under” Cait’s January 2016 Golden Globes after party gown to try to prove that she was pregnant. 

I’m not going to post screencaps of Puff’s reveal about her source. You can find what she wrote on her blog. 

The story she tells inadvertently makes it clear that it was a con because we see examples of her “source” providing cryptic communications and Puff’s imagination filling in the meaning of those communications.

It isn’t surprising that Puff found evidence to support her source’s cryptic communications. It’s what we human beings do. We create meaning when stimuli are ambiguous. So she decided a bottle of champagne meant that Cait gave birth in late July 2016 and the lion “Build-a-Bear” that Sam was gifted in December 2016 had to be for his child born supposedly under the sign of Leo. 🙄

It would have been one thing if she and her followers had just chosen to blindly believe these things and made no fuss whenever Sam’s or Cait’s behavior didn’t fit with the “narrative” she had constructed. But she and her followers got extremely angry at Sam and Cait as time went on. Puff became convinced that Cait in particular had been playing a huge game by staging a fake wedding. She was so angry she went as far as accusing Cait of being “batshit crazy.” 

So much anger. So much hate. So much wasted time. All because apparently she had a hard time admitting that she had let herself be conned.

It happens. it seems that I was conned by my “source” who told me in August 2018 that Sam and MacKenzie broke up. Not that my source was wrong--they were 100% correct about the breakup. Still, she must have just made a good guess because it now appears my source wasn’t who she said she was, despite the fact that I had vetted her to the best of my ability. 

So it can happen to any of us.

But in my opinion, after the wedding and Hawaii-gate, it is well past time for everyone who has clung to the fake SamCait “secret” marriage and family to just give it a rest. None of it was ever real. None of it ever made any sense to anyone who bothered to look at it logically. And all of it ended up just hurting the true believers in the long run, not to mention Sam, Cait, their real SOs, and many fans and others who were attacked for contradicting the SamCait narrative. 

Of course, saying this won’t stop those who still want to cling to the misbegotten SamCait narrative.  But the choice to continue doing so is entirely theirs.
