I thought we might have a first episode without someone connected to Harry Potter, alas, the entire British population has been in those films.

Paranoid about the difficulty spotting a bicycle in the previous episode, I grabbed this one in the background on a poster at the start just in case.

And finally a proper bicycle, used by a postie.

So @nocompromise-noregrets inspired me to make a ‘talk about your fandoms of 1 (or maybe 3 at most)’ post. I am going to talk about mine below.

POW (2003): available on YouTube (6 episodes)

This is a mini series set in a POW camp for British Soldiers in WWII which is exactly the content warning(s) you would think - starring Patrick Baladi (as the British Captain) and James D’Arcy (as an RAF officer/soldier who gets shot down and thus ends up in the camp). It’s also about a Commandant who thinks he’s side stepping complicity for being a Nazi and is in fact, not side stepping complicity at all and has a Creepy Fascination with Patrick Baladi’s character. It isn’t an easy series at all - it deals with antisemitism within the ranks of the British Soldiers, sexual assault, torture and trauma in general.

I also love the dynamic Baladi and D’Arcy’s characters have - from UGH IT’S HIM to actual genuine friendship. I also have extensive headcanons about their relationship and Attercomb’s (the Captain) backstory that I will talk about a lot.

The Scarlet Pimpernel (1999): I do not recognise the second series because they made an absolute Nonsense of a decision. Obviously there are more than three people who are fans of the Scarlet Pimpernel but like, this specific mini series has my heart. Not least because I have an extensively plotted OT4 (Suzanne/Andrew/Marguerite/Percy) and also a profound conviction that Chauvelin is in love with both Blakeney’s.

I believe you can find the mini series on YouTube as well (I have it on DVD but haven’t been able to watch in a while because Laptop Stopped Working :/).
