Nobody asked for this, but here are my not well thought out thoughts about gravity fall's characters digimon because I am currently watching digimon. I might in fact be wrong about some of these. I feel like a fake digimon fan coming up empty.

His crest is love, because he's filled with love for his family. 💖

I imagine he and Ford probably had their digimon since childhood or whatever, before they split up. Maybe they didn't though too considering idk if digimon existed in like...idk the 50s for them or something?

I gave him sincerity, because he tried to be sincere in his friendships (with Ford, and the kids.) Haguromon turns into a clockmon for his champion because he is trying to turn back time on the horrors he's experienced. But all he can do is forget instead.

I gave Mabel a patamon because it was pig like. I think it would either turn into a pegasusmon because she likes horses, or an angemon which she'd be overjoyed by because he's a pretty guy.

I almost didn't give him the crest of courage, but I decided he pushed himself to the limit and preserved past his fears for his family.

I'm a fake fan though and did not give him a good digimon!!! I thought it would be cute if I gave him a salamon so he and Mabel could be the classic angel digimon pair (or you know similar) but I just could not find a good digimon for Dipper! I am fake!

I gave Wendy a renamon, because she would be that cool girl character with a renamon.

Soos is very reliable. Also yes, I gave him a toyagumon to go along with Stan's agumon. He likes nerdy stuff but he also really looks up to Stan so I decided it was fitting enough.

Gideon should NOT be here. This is PURE bias. I created all these pictures to make up an entire team and then realized "crap, I forgot Pacifica." And it was completely due to my own bias. Gideon blinded me. He took her spot. It's my bad paint edit so I get to have him though.

Mabel would like his digimon more than him. And yes he would perform with his digimon, I think. =) I almost gave him a creepier digimon like keramon, where he's manipulating tv stuff with keramon. Still kinda torn between the two ideas of cute or evil. (Sorry, Dipper! I put much more work into some of these than others!)

Ford doesn't get digimon. He didn't think computers were important. He doesn't understand why he can't just collect and study them all. Which is probably a good thing because Bill I think just full on kills his digimon. No coming back for Tapirmon. Just dead.

Bill doesn't have a digimon either, he's more powerful than digimon and all that really matters to him is Ford, and he's trying to divorce them from digimon world because apparently Ford can not be his digimon or digivolve no matter how hard he tries to make him, and then what's the point of it all? Why should digimon even exist??? The digital world interested him at first, until the concept of digimon third-wheeled and tore Ford's attention away from him! Let them be psychosexually obsessed with each other without digimon involved!

Bill's probably put his hand into a lot of evil virus like digimon, just for funsies/to see how messed up he can make them.

He probably gets extremely insulted when someone mislabels him as a digimon, and decided "yeah, okay, time to get rid of their entire world because they couldn't possibly be on my level."

Now it feels like we’re celebrating the 25th Anniversary 😍

This new art for an upcoming collaboration with Karatez is just simply stunning. The theme is (very obviously) “idol” and I personally love the futuristic pop concept they’ve added to the outfits. Although exact date and merch details haven’t been shared yet, they shared a few layouts of the key art.

The outfits are also great this time around because of their little references to the partner Digimon’s Perfect evolutions. Listing them down one by one as always.

Taichi: The blue markings on his jacket plus robotic arm markings on his right sleeve are a nice shoutout to MetalGreymon.

Yamato: We see WereGarurumon’s pattern on his jacket and a few belts wrapped around his hands that captures the punk-grunge vibe of WereGarurumon well. It may be Yamato’s affinity to music, but he looks extremely in his element in this art, it’s not often we see him so raring to go in official merch art (he’s more of a soft smiles guy usually).

Sora: Her gloves and the red bandana on her arm coupled with the feather in her hair are clear shoutouts to Garudamon. It’s kinda funny to me that being the girl who’s crest is a heart symbol, she’s making a victory sign while Mimi and Hikari are both making different types of finger hearts 😆

Koushiro: Honestly they were really subtle with the reference for him and even twitter couldn’t exactly answer my doubts so I’m gonna have to see Koushiro stans step up and answer whether the reference in his outfit limited to the markings on his jacket resembling AtlurKabuterimon’s chest?

Mimi: I think she’s the one with the most easy to catch references, her skirt resembles Lilymon’s and her hair tie looks like Lilymon’s flower canon. I love that she’s making the big finger heart because it’s just so very Mimi. If Yamato suits the passionate side of being an idol, Mimi is definitely meant for the cutesy visual vibe that can make fans go crazy over just a wink and a smile.

Jou: He’s wearing three belt like bracelets around one wrist like Zudomon which makes his a minimal reference though not as subtle as Koushiro’s. I do feel that they could’ve done a bit more with his look, maybe add a horn to the side of his headset? I also can’t wait to see the full art for each kid individually cuz I do think him and Yamato are wearing similar bellbottom pants!

Takeru: The feather on his headset and the yellow suspended straps are a decent reference to HolyAngemon. Considering that they wanted to keep the outfits limited to one colour per kid, I think this is the best way they could slip in the reference, though I wouldn’t have minded a few rings.

Hikari: The feather on the headset, the corset-ish belt around her waist and her gloves are very nice references to Angewomon. Keeping Hikari’s innocence as a kid intact while referencing a Digimon that is undoubtedly considered one of the most sexiest mons in the franchise would have been really tough and I salute the illustrators for coming up with this design! I also like the OG Korean finger heart she’s making, such a cute look on her.

The cherry on top are each of the Digimon partners holding supportive cheering goods for their kids. Piyomon’s love for Sora goes hard with her big name banner. Meanwhile, Agumon and Palmon kept it simple with haoris, Tailmon and Patamon too decided to go the simple route with light sticks. Gabumon, Gomamon and Tentomon seem normal from afar with their hand fans but when you get a closer look on all the hearts around Koushiro’s name on Tentomon’s fan, you know the three spent time making those themselves.

All in all, a pretty amazing illustration to be able to get merch of!

But wait that’s not all, andGallery has also teased a future cafe collaboration with Digimon Adventure on their twitter, more info will be announced on 19th Feb but they did share a preview of what to expect.

So Digimon AUs am I right folks?

Some headcanons under the cut:

Back in the late eighties Ford and Fiddleford were working on a computer networking project together (Stan's there too because in this AU Stan and Ford made up back in the early 80s/late 70s, he's not officially on the project or anything but he's there). They discover that there is some kind of digital world their network is connecting to and they try to make a connection between the two.

However, Fiddleford starts getting really spooked by something in the project and, when Ford doesn't listen, decides to sabotage the project. Ford walks in on this and Fidds and Ford fight. Stan comes in because of the commotion but too late. Ford gets sucked through a portal into the digital world, and at the same time out comes Terriermon. Stan tries to get Fidds to help him get Ford back but he refuses. Fidds runs off and makes the memory gun to forget what he saw and having potentially killed his best friend.

Stan and Terriermon team up and become partners to reunite with their twins and spend the next couple decades trying to bring back Ford and reunite Terriermon with Lopmon. Ford, stuck in the digital world, meets up Lopmon and the pair try to work out the problem from the other side.

In 2012 Dipper and Mabel come to stay with their Grunkle Stan. Due to Ford and Stans attempts to connect the worlds so Ford can come back home there is a lot of digimon activity around Stan's home. Stan of course tries to pretend there isn't anything strange going on. (He and Terriermon pretend he's just a strange dog, Dipper and Mabel do not buy it, the act lasts a week before falling apart). Shortly after the younger twins arrive two Digimon (a pair of Poyomon who shortly evolve into Nyaromon and Tokomon) slip into the real world and become their partners.

Dipper's Bearmon becomes a Grizzmon, Pandamon, and then Bancholeomon. He's a huge dork like Dipper but he's also a lot more chill. Both of them want to be tougher than they are.

Mabel's Patamon becomes a Unimon, Monzaemon, and then Marine Angemon. He's a high energy goofball like Mabel. He loves her sweaters and is always super bouncy and bubbly. He worries about Mabel keeping her anxieties to herself.

Stan's Terriermon can evolve into Gargomon and then Grapleomon. He's a snarky little shit and a bit of a grouchy old man. He tries to use his cuteness to get away with pulling shit (he's largely successful).

Ford's Lopmon can evolve into Turuiemon and then Cyberdramon. She's very serious and pissy. She kinda blames Ford for a long time for Terriermon getting separated from her. Bill (a malevolent program) manipulates the pair of them by convincing them he can connect the two worlds. This leads to Lopmon getting corrupted into Cherubimon (Vice).

Stan and Ford's Terriermon and Lopmon can jogres digivolve into Cherubimon (Virtue) after they are all reunited.

Izzy is the reason all these kids are still alive btw just wanted to make sure we all know that

So Izzy is smart. He brings a laptop and cellphone to summer camp and uses big words. But thankfully he does not fall into the trap of 'smart kids' of western media; overly nerdy, completely socially inept, you get the idea. No, Izzy is more than that. His intelligence has a basis in something besides a trope; namely, computer science and engineering.

(Don't even get me started on Matt being the one to go into engineering when IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IZZY)

From the moment the kids land in the Digital World, Izzy is curious about it. His crest is knowledge but I really think it should've been curiosity. He gets Tentomon to evolve by hacking his code. He comes up with some aliens conspiracy to explain why they're there and why there's things like phone booths on the beach.

Izzy is the problem solver of the group. In fact, without him, the other kids are just... Kinda lost. Izzy has the answers, and if he doesn't he'll at least know how to find them.

Even though he's younger than the others, being 10 when they're 11, they treat him as an equal. This is opposed to the other kid that's 10, Mimi, who is kind of coddled, and the two youngest, TK and Kari, who are literally the hope and light of the group.

Izzy is basically Tai's second-in-command, deferring to Tai's leadership while Tai takes his input very seriously. However, Izzy isn't much of a leader on his own.

He gets distracted by details. When Mimi finds him in the temple, he's so busy on his laptop that she gets upset and runs off into a maze. I would attribute this to him being younger, and as he gets older he does get better at applying his intelligence to a leadership role.

Most of the kids have an interesting family dynamic and Izzy is no different. It's revealed that he's adopted, that his birth parents died shortly after he was born and his adoptive parents were friends that took him in.

What I like about this reveal is that, of course, Izzy found this out on his own due to his curiosity. He overheard his parents discussing whether or not they should tell him, deciding not to because he's too young.

During the Odaiba raid, when the kids have a moment, Izzy gets to finally have the conversation. They admit that he's adopted and tell him what happened, and he says he already knows. He didn't want to bring it up himself because he thought he could just pretend like things were normal, like before he knew. But obviously it couldn't. This shows the price he pays for his curiosity, that sometimes knowing things isn't all fun times and computer jargon. It isn't helpful for Izzy to pretend to not know, to ignore what he knows. Instead it's better for him to apply what he knows to react appropriately, instead of hiding behind the easier mode of willful ignorance.

This also comes into play, though in a different way, during Izzy's confrontation with Vademon. Izzy gives away his curiosity (under extreme duress but still) and is basically empty of all character after that. He does a weird alphabet yoga meditation and willingly gives up his crest and tag, when earlier in the episode his curiosity was at a boiling point over it.

This causes Tentomon to de-digivolve to the baby stage; the only other partner Digimon to go back to this stage is Patamon. With the loss of his curiosity, Izzy has lost the core of his being and is no longer able to maintain Tentomon's existence.

Of course, he gets it back and everything is fine afterwords. This episode is very interesting when looking at how things work for the kids and their Digimon, why the crests are important, etc. But that's a post for another time.

Izzy is incredibly important to the team. Without him, I highly doubt they would've made it very far at all. He's able to look up Digimon on his laptop, kind of like a Digimon version of a Pokedex, when none of the currently present Digimon can give an explanation about who they're up against. But aside from his usefulness as the Smart Kid, it's noteworthy that he uses his intelligence to be helpful instead of lording it over everyone. And he is still a kid, albeit with an impressive vocabulary, so sometimes his curiosity gets him into trouble.

Hello, I would like to reiterate the question on this post and give my thoughts on it now that it's been a while since Beyond came out.

It's not the fact that Takeru is in the Dark Ocean that weirds me out and confuses me, it's the fact that he's so calm.

Like I said, I headcanon that since Takeru actively went looking for Hikari and willingly entered the Dark Ocean that he got dragged into the Dark Ocean's shenanigans.

Hikari and Ken have a connection with it and Takeru got dragged in since he actively went looking for the Dark Ocean while trying to find Hikari.

I don't think Miyako has the same problem, since she was more pulling into the Dark Ocean since she was with Ken and Hikari, she was more collateral damage.

So it's not the fact that Takeru's in the Dark Ocean, and think it creates a fun little idea that Takeru gets pulled into darkness just like Hikari and Ken.

It's the fact that he's so calm!

That is not the fact someone should make when in a land of darkness!

Especially since the Dark Ocean has tried to use the darkness to hurt the people he's cared about and to just hurt people in general.

I just want to remind people that Takeru doesn't hate the powers of darkness itself, he just doesn't like it when people or digimon use the darkness to hurt the others.

He says in 02 that light cannot exist without the darkness.

And if you've even seen the jp version of the episode where Hikari first goes to the Dark Ocean then you'd know that what they want to do to her is definitely evil.

So why is he so calm!

It kinda freaks me out. Takeru gets angry at the powers of darkness, and you don't get more dark then the world of darkness. And this place has hurt people he cares about.

From what we know of Takeru and his personality he should be angry, maybe even scared a little.

But he's not.

He's calm.

And it's freaking me out.

I don't know, after Beyond came out I wrote a short fic about this scene right here, will probably post it tomorrow so tell me if you'd like to read a fic that try's to explain why Takeru is so calm here.

I like other peoples theories, like how the Dark Ocean is a metaphor for depression and how Takeru is here because he starts to pull himself away from the others because of his writing.

There was also a statement from Kakudou, the director of Beyond who was also the director for Digimon Adventure 1999 and Digimon Adventure 02 that said that he just wanted to continue to explore how he thought the kids would be like when they were older that he didn't get to explore in other pieces of Digimon Adventure media.

I like all of those, and I'm sure that there are other theories that I will love and Kakudou can do what he wants and I love Beyond too, but no matter what I think I'm still going to be a little weirded out by this.

I love Takeru, he's always been my favorite character in Digimon.

I love seeing him get screen time and Takeru has always been one of the only characters where we see how the Digital World affected him and we get to see how his trauma manifests.

From him attacking Ken in 02, too him breaking down when Patamon gets infected in Tri, too him being scared of breaking the bonds between digimon in The Beginning.

It would be amazing to have the Dark Ocean come back and to include Takeru in a storyline with it, but this, this just feels a little dissapoiting.

There was so many things they could have done for Beyond, and what we got kinda feels like a let down. I love it, and will gladly watch it over and over again.

But I feel like a movie or another anime would have been even better for seeing how the kids we all grew up with are like now and how they have changed because of their adventures.

People really want more, but that wont happen for a while because of Digimon Beatbreak, and it might not happen at all. If it here I think a nice two hour long movie would be great.

Anyway, to wrap this up, I love Takeru, and would love and Dark Ocean plot for him and Hikari and Ken, but no matter what without context this scene will always weird me out.

Digimon Adventure 02 - Christmas Fantasy (Music CD)

An 02-specific Christmas album that came out in the year 2000, how fun. I wish more anime had their own Christmas albums, I think that's pretty rare. Well, the 2000s were kinda a renaissance era for random character songs I think. (Take me back!)

This album is pretty short and sweet but has some real gems in it! I'll definitely be adding it to my "Weeb Christmas" playlist lol.

Minna no Christmas (Everyone's Christmas)

A super generic Christmas song sung by the Butter-Fly dude (Wada Koji)! I believe this was used as bgm at one point? Anyway, it's charming enough. I wish it was more of a digimon song though. This could have come from any anime.

It's always interesting to see the more western version of Christmas being celebrated in Japan. Since this is a show for kid's we get the version with Santa and presents rather than the romantic one seen in anime with older characters.

In the beginning of the song he mentions hanging stockings "by the window" instead of a fireplace which makes sense for apartment dwellers. I think that's the only less traditional thing I noticed.

Hell yeah, now this is what I'm talking about! We get a Takeru-Iori duet which feels like a rare treat. On top of that there's a little interlude where they talk about what Christmas presents they should buy their digimon. Adorable!

They mention buying Patamon a haramaki (belly warmer)...Frontier reference? This came out a few years before that series though...

Woah, I wasn't expecting the English lol. They did a good job except they said "mistle too" instead of "mistle toe" hehe.

I've never heard this song in Japanese before. They changed the lyrics to reveal that Santa = Papa which I think kinda goes against the point of the original song lol. (The kid's not supposed to know that!)

They call the 02 digimon "Jogress Shinkers" which I believe is a pun on "shinka (evolution)" and "singer." Looks weird in an English context, but it's kinda cute.

Damn, I forgot how religious Silent Night is. Well, it's still pretty. This one had no extra digimon nuggets in it, they just sang the song. It was interesting to hear the Japanese version of it.

Wish someone would do fan animations for these songs. Everyone looks so cute in their Santa outfits.

Daisuke and Ken's Shopping Carol

This is the best day of my life lol. This one was amazing. The banter, the goofy chorus, Ken and Daisuke calling each other "baby" (?) A must listen. (Especially if you're a shipper).

I remember this song from the show (insert song). It's technically sung by Mimi's voice actor, but not in character. It has generic nonsense lyrics about dreams coming true and being reborn as an angel. You know, just stuff that was thrown in to sound magical.

I'm not the biggest fan of this one, but I think it was smart to place it at the end of the album. It feels like this is the ending theme and Minna no Christmas is the opening, nice little bookends.

Since yesterday it was Odaiba day, I will finally reply to an ask from this Anon, whose identity I know because @teclajellymon isn’t skilled at hiding secrets lmaoooooo. She wanted to only ask about Izumi and Junpei but she had to act like a chameleon, you know ahahahha.

• Takuya: I mean, you’d think a googlehead should be placed by the side of another one. And I do understand that, the official did the same as well, but can I change the rules a bit? I want to see Takuya and Sora interacting, because Sora reminds me of Rin from Yes!5 and Rin from Yes!5 is voiced by the same woman voicing Takuya, who also said she wished Takuya was a girl like Ri-

OK. I just think they’d share they football passion together and it would be cute? Besides the fact aesthetically they would look really pleasant together, they both also are fire themed. I’d like to see them playing together and if Taichi wants to join, why couldn’t he?

Still, among the googleheads, I think the one I would like to see interacting with Takuya is Marcus…? I want them to kill each other, yes?

Kouji: He’s kinda easy, because I really like that Cd cover where he stared at Yamato playing his harmonica, dreamy eyed. I know it’s kinda lame Kouji is being put with a loner wolf, so I’m taking a safe route, but I honestly can’t get rid of that image printed in my head. Hmmm someone else, someone else, idk. Help. Maybe he could meet Takeru? If he met Yamato, he would meet Takeru as well and Takeru has got a Patamon. Since Kouji was often seen getting Patamon’s attention in the original season, Takeru’s would bring him memories.

• Izumi: Of course, when it comes to your favs you have got ton of ideas. Ton. Let’s say I will write a little bonus down here for Junpei and Izumi, so, for now, I’ll just temporise ahhahah. Many pair Izumi with Miyako, but I would honestly be curious to see how a meeting between Ruki and Izumi would play. Once a friend of mine drew Izumi and Ruki collaborating in modelling together (Ruki was the photographer, Izumi was the model of the photoshoot), but I want to picture them together more because Seki Producer liked saying Izumi “is actually more similar to Ruki than Mimi”. How? At what extent? What did you mean, SekiP? We will never know imo, but maybe if Ruki and Izumi got to know each other…

• Junpei: OF COURSE, same identical tale as old as time like when it comes to Izumi. So many ideas for my boy, I’d make him even meet Taichi and I think they’d go along. During my Adventure 01 “rewatch”, I truly found myself spotting a piece of Junpei in so many characters ahaha. Taichi has got a scene in which he drives some kind of crane in a factory and Frontier’s episode 5, the one in which Junpei drives one as well, blatantly is a homage to that. Needless to say, Junpei has also got something in common with Jyou, whom he met in an official comic (during which Junpei doesn’t miss the chance to compliment Izumi in front of strangers and in her absence lmaoooo); moreover, in the first Frontier ending, Junpei reading his homework on the stairs is another clear homage to 01, to a scene focusing on Jyou, though I can’t recall which episode it was and I apologize.

Still, and I’ve already said it, I ABSOLUTELY want Junpei to meet Ruri. I want him to become envious of her little detective life and bugging her by sticking his nose in whatever digital mystery she’s on. The Great Detective Shibayama meets the fantastic Ririrun! I need to draw them *wants to explode*. Maybe Junpei could affect Ruri with his fantasies about owning a series, who knows.

Junpei would also so funny with Miyako, I swear. The 02 x Frontier pic did place them in a mirroring position and I just adore it lol. They can eat together while talking about their crush, even if Miyako does yell much more than Junpei lmao. Bingo. I think Junpei would admire her technological skills and would evolve in Bolgmon to gain maths intelligence lmao x 2.

• Tomoki: I have played the Takeru card and I don’t really care? Because I want Tonoki to join the Tamers younger kids for once, though we know nothing about Ai and Mako, and unfortunately about Shaochung as well. But ehy, we can come up with headcanons and make these babies have fun. If Impmon acts as a bully like usual, Tomoki will have someone to deal with, though…

• Kouichi: He doesn’t give me any problem like his twin (good boy, Kouichi). Thanks to some people from this fandom, I have jumped on the boat of Kouichi and Hikari, not necessarily on a shipping level. I can see it. I can see Juri boarding as well, but Juri is way too hyperactive to Kouichi’s tastes imo. Hikari is a bit quieter and more considerate. He would put him at ease just like his twin does www.

• Bonus: Koumi x Junzumi

And here I can say : aren’t shippings ending with umi so beautiful at this point ?

Talking again about my 01 rewatch, I can confirm to myself early Mimi does remind me of Junpei a lot, which is a sacrilege but, ehm, seriously…???? I don’t blame some dude playing in their stories about Junpei being a Jyoumi son, because he’s really a mix of them. People usually like connecting Junpei with Koushiro (and I do too lol) because of the electric/thunder bug theme, but I also adore creating scenarios for Junpei and Mimi ahahah, two spoiled kids coming from rich families always complaining about needing to eat, sleep, getting disgusted so easily….Two needles stuck up your butt, speaking bluntly ahahha.

I have got a lot of ideas about Junzumi x Koumi . In my hcs Izumi will open a restaurant someday and I do believe Mimi would love visiting it. Word Count: 623 Prompt: Fifth Adventure A/N: Local Tri apologist here. (Listen, high school me REALLY loved new Digimon content coming out while she was aware of it.) Anyyyyyyway. There was (1) aspect of Tri that I always took umbrage with, and it was that Homeostasis kinda went "actually, we don't need you." Like what? So Takari is my vessel for standing up to that! LOOK AT THEM GO! @takariweek

"This is weird, right?"

Hikari looked up and over at Takeru, who was sitting on the floor a little ways away. She had been petting Tailmon's hair for… she'd lost track. A while. How long had they been sitting here in silence? A few minutes? Hours? Days? Months? No. It had only been about twenty minutes. Calm down, Hikari.

Her voice was a bit hoarse as she said, "Very."

"I mean. They picked us, right? We're the Chosen, and now they—they don't want us anymore? What kind of sick joke is that?" Takeru had been bent over Patamon, clutching his Digimon partner tightly like a stuffed animal. The poor creature looked so forlorn to see Takeru in such a state. But now, the blond sat up, locking his gaze with Hikari's, blue eyes desperate and widened. "Are they going to do this to all the Chosen? Wallace? The kids in New York? Russia? Mexico? What's fair about that?"

"It's not fair." Hikari's words came out bitter enough that even Tailmon looked surprised. "They can't change our lives forever and then try to reverse it. It's too late. We've been in this for years."

"What can we do? They already don't want us involved."

"We got involved the moment we met Meiko. Whether they like it or not, we're as much a part of this as she is." Hikari glanced out the window. "And we can't just leave one of our own behind."

"Of course we can't." A sly grin appeared on his face. "Daisuke would have our heads if we did."

"Do you think they're okay?" Hikari whispered. "I… I don't like that we don't know where they are."

"I wish we could've been there to help them. We should've been. If we'd been there, maybe we could have used Jogress evolution…" Takeru shook his head. "We're going to help Meiko, and we're going to find them. That's all we can hope for right now."

Hikari couldn't help it—she raised an eyebrow. "Really leaning into that, are you?"

"Hey, it's worked before. Surely it will work this time." Takeru made to stand up, holding out a hand for her. "Shall we?"

"Let's. Maybe by now the 'adults' have stopped going in circles." Hikari took his hand and stood with him, and they smiled at each other. Even more than their brothers, they had always been able to strengthen the other's resolve with minimal effort. Such was the way of being Hikari and Takeru.

"We always need to save them, don't we?"

"I think we always will." 

Hikari let Takeru pull her out of her apartment and toward where the others had surely gathered by now. Their hands remained joined, clasped tightly. She was his anchor, and he was hers. Even as the world, their lives, crumbled around them, they still had each other. As it always had been. As it always would be, Homeostasis be damned.

Digimon Adventure Week Day 2 - Favourite Digimon Partner

I'm so sorry! T.T I know there are five mons on here. But I really struggled to choose, even worse than who to pick for favourite Digidestined. And that despite me re-watching the entire season beforehand to help me choose. But by the end of it - I couldn't.

Just like the Digidestined, each of the Digimon are great in their own way. As for the designs, that's of course a matter of taste for each person. So, I put Gomamon and Tentomon on here because of how mega supportive they are to their partners. Each of the Digimon is, but these two more so than the others, encouraging their partners in moments of self-doubt and reassuring them how much they like them. I really like their dynamics with Izzy and Joe. And while I really hate insects and bugs in real life, Tentomon's design and those of his digivolutions have grown on me a bit. And he's too nice not to like, even for insect- and bug-haters. Also, I love Gomamon showing some smarts by getting it and Biyomon out of the Bakemon prison by tricking the guard. Gatomon is on here because I like her design (plus those of all her digivolutions through all seasons of Digimon), backstory, and personality. Agumon and Gabumon are just cool overall, both in designs of their Digivolution trees and their personalities. Okay, though, the entire Koromon pooping everywhere thing is kinda lame. Didn't like that at all.

Now for those I did not include. Patamon... I do love its Digivolution tree designs. But I was severely annoyed how late in the series it evolved ot MagnaAngemon - even after Gatomon evolved to Angewomon, and Gatomon appeared like around episode 40!!! Patamon really got done dirty. I mean, come on, in the second or third last episode of the series is just way, way too late. And yes, MagnaAngemon is crazy strong, but still. I'm sure they could have brought him earlier. Also, I really hate it how much he and T.K. argue. I can understand the time when DemiDevimon tricked T.K., even though I still don't understand how T.K. believed some shady, evil-looking Digimon above the partner who actually sacrificed his bloody life to save everyone. And the arguing afterward, back in the human world? You should think they would be much more harmonious after Angemon sacrificed itself against Devimon. I really don't get it. In Adventure 02 we even learn that T.K. got a near trauma from it! So why all the arguing? Palmon I did not include because out of its Digivolutions, I only really like Lilymon's design. And it is somehow less supportive of Mimi than the other Digimon, like, Palmon is not even trying to keep Mimi from exploiting the Gekomon before Tai and Joe arrive. Her personality in general just doesn't stand out. And Biyomon, I like her Digivolution tree designs, and she sure is loving and cares for Sora. But other than that, her personality doesn't really stand out either.
