The Versatility of Brown Paper Bags: Tips for Everyday Use
Brown paper bags have long been a staple in households and businesses alike. These simple yet highly functional items are incredibly versatile and can be used for a myriad of purposes beyond just carrying groceries. From crafting to organizing, brown paper bags offer practical and creative solutions for everyday tasks. In this blog, we’ll explore the various ways you can use brown paper bags, including paper bags with handles, small paper bags, and even craft bags, to make your life more organized and enjoyable.
The Classic Brown Paper Bag: A Brief History
Brown paper bags have been around since the mid-19th century, originally designed as a sturdy and affordable option for carrying groceries. Their durability and simplicity have kept them in use for over a century. Today, they come in various sizes and styles, including paper bags with handles and small paper bags, making them even more versatile.
Practical Uses for Brown Paper Bags
1. Grocery Shopping and Storage
The most common use for brown paper bags is, of course, grocery shopping. They are sturdy enough to hold a variety of items, from fresh produce to canned goods. Many people prefer using paper bags with handles as they make carrying heavier loads more manageable. Additionally, brown paper bags are biodegradable and recyclable, making them an eco-friendly choice for shopping.
2. Organizing and Decluttering
Brown paper bags can be incredibly useful for organizing and decluttering your home. Use them to sort items in your pantry, store seasonal clothes, or even as temporary bins during a move. Label each bag to easily identify its contents. Small paper bags are perfect for organizing smaller items like office supplies, toiletries, or toys.
3. Gift Wrapping and Presentation
Brown paper bags can be transformed into beautiful and unique gift bags. Use craft supplies like stamps, ribbons, and markers to decorate them according to the occasion. A brown paper bag with handles can be especially stylish when adorned with some personalized touches. This is a cost-effective and eco-friendly alternative to traditional gift wrapping.
Creative Uses for Brown Paper Bags
1. Craft Projects
Brown paper bags are a fantastic resource for a variety of craft projects. They can be cut, folded, painted, and glued into numerous shapes and designs. Here are some fun ideas to get you started:
Paper Bag Puppets: Create fun and imaginative puppets with your kids using paper bags. Draw faces and add yarn for hair, or glue on fabric scraps for clothing.
Homemade Lanterns: Design charming paper lanterns by cutting out patterns and placing a small LED candle inside. This can add a cozy atmosphere to any room.
Decorative Storage: Transform brown paper bags into decorative storage containers. Roll down the top edge to create a sturdy rim, and decorate the exterior to match your home’s decor.
2. Party Decorations
Brown paper bags can be used to create simple yet elegant party decorations. They can be fashioned into banners, table centerpieces, or even party favors. For example, fill small paper bags with treats and close them with a ribbon for an easy and attractive party favor.
3. Planters for Gardening
Brown paper bags can serve as temporary planters for your gardening needs. Fill them with soil and plant seeds or small plants. Once the plants are ready to be transferred to a more permanent pot or garden bed, simply remove the bag and compost it. This is a great way to start seedlings indoors before moving them outside.
Brown Paper Bags for Educational Purposes
1. Teaching Tools
Brown paper bags can be used as effective teaching tools in classrooms. Teachers can use them for interactive activities such as:
Mystery Bags: Place an item inside a brown paper bag and have students guess what it is based on touch alone. This can be a fun way to learn about textures and shapes.
Story Bags: Encourage creativity by having students decorate a paper bag based on a story they’ve read or written. They can then fill the bag with items related to the story.
2. Science Experiments
Brown paper bags can also be used in various science experiments. For example, you can use them to demonstrate how plants grow by placing damp cotton balls and seeds inside the paper bag and watching them sprout over time. This simple experiment can teach children about germination and plant growth.
Brown Paper Bags in the Kitchen
1. Food Storage
Brown paper bags are excellent for storing certain types of food. For example, they are ideal for keeping bread fresh, as they allow the bread to breathe while preventing it from becoming too dry. Similarly, brown paper bags can be used to ripen fruits like bananas and avocados by trapping the ethylene gas they emit.
2. Cooking and Baking
You might be surprised to learn that bag for papers can be used in cooking and baking. For instance, you can use them to bake bread or roast vegetables. Just be sure to monitor the oven temperature and avoid letting the bag come into direct contact with the heating elements to prevent it from catching fire.
Eco-Friendly and Sustainable Uses
1. Recycling and Composting
One of the best things about brown paper bags is that they are eco-friendly. They can be recycled along with other paper products or composted. In the compost, they break down naturally and add valuable organic material to the soil. This makes them a great option for those looking to reduce their environmental footprint.
2. Reusable Alternatives
While brown paper bags are designed for single use, they can often be reused multiple times before being recycled or composted. Use them as lunch bags, storage containers, or even as makeshift book covers. By reusing brown paper bags, you can extend their lifespan and reduce waste.
Comparing Brown Paper Bags with Other Types of Bags
1. Brown Paper Bags vs. White Paper Bags
Both brown and white paper bags have their advantages. Brown paper bags are typically made from recycled materials and have a natural, rustic look. They are also generally more durable than white paper bags. White paper bags, on the other hand, offer a clean, blank canvas that can be easily customized for more formal or festive occasions. The choice between the two depends on your specific needs and aesthetic preferences.
2. Brown Paper Bags vs. Plastic Bags
When it comes to environmental impact, brown paper bags are a better choice than plastic bags. They are biodegradable and recyclable, whereas plastic bags can take hundreds of years to break down and are often not recycled properly. While plastic bags are more water-resistant and durable for certain uses, the ecological benefits of brown paper bags make them a more sustainable option.
Tips for Storing and Maintaining Brown Paper Bags
1. Proper Storage
To keep brown paper bag in good condition, store them in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Excessive moisture can weaken the paper, while prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause the bags to become brittle. Keep them flat or folded neatly to prevent creases and tears.
2. Reinforcing Handles
If you plan to use brown paper bags with handles for carrying heavier items, consider reinforcing the handles with extra tape or glue. This can help prevent the handles from tearing and ensure that the bag remains sturdy.
Innovative Uses for Brown Paper Bags in Daily Life
1. Fashion and Accessories
Believe it or not, paper bags with handles can be used to create unique fashion items and accessories. With a bit of creativity and crafting skills, you can make hats, jewelry, or even purses out of brown paper bags. These items can be a fun and eco-friendly addition to your wardrobe.
2. Home Decor
Incorporate brown paper bags into your home decor for a rustic and natural look. Use them to cover books, create wall art, or make custom storage boxes. The neutral color and texture of brown paper bags can complement a variety of interior design styles.
Conclusion: Embracing the Versatility of Brown Paper Bags
Brown paper bags are more than just a simple tool for carrying groceries. Their versatility makes them invaluable in numerous aspects of daily life, from organizing and crafting to cooking and teaching. By exploring the many ways to use brown paper bags, you can enhance your creativity, organization, and sustainability efforts.
Whether you’re looking for a practical solution to store items, a creative project to work on, or an eco-friendly alternative to plastic, brown paper bags have you covered. Their simplicity and functionality make them a perfect choice for anyone looking to add a touch of versatility to their everyday routine. So next time you come across a brown paper bag, think beyond its traditional use and consider the endless possibilities it offers.

"Businesses like to talk about the concept of a closed loop or circular economy, but often they’re trying to close small loops. Releaf Paper takes dead leaves from city trees and turns them into paper for bags, office supplies, and more—which is to say they are striving to close one heck of a big loop.
How big? Six billion trees are cut down every year for paper products according to the WWF, producing everything from toilet paper to Amazon boxes to the latest best-selling novels. Meanwhile, the average city produces 8,000 metric tons of leaves every year which clog gutters and sewers, and have to be collected, composted, burned, or dumped in landfills.
In other words, huge supply and huge demand, but Releaf Paper is making cracking progress. They already produce 3 million paper carrier bags per year from 5,000 metric tons of leaves from their headquarters in Paris.
Joining forces with landscapers in sites across Europe, thousands of tonnes of leaves arrive at their facility where a low-water, zero-sulfur/chlorine production process sees the company create paper with much smaller water and carbon footprints...
“In a city, it’s a green waste that should be collected. Really, it’s a good solution because we are keeping the balance—we get fiber for making paper and return lignin as a semi-fertilizer for the cities to fertilize the gardens or the trees. So it’s like a win-win model,” [Valentyn] Frechka, co-founder and CTO of Releaf Paper, told Euronews.
Releaf is already selling products to LVMH, BNP Paribas, Logitech, Samsung, and various other big companies. In the coming years, Frechka and Sobolenka also plan to further increase their production capacity by opening more plants in other countries. If the process is cost-efficient, there’s no reason there shouldn’t be a paper mill of this kind in every city.
“We want to expand this idea all around the world. At the end, our vision is that the technology of making paper from fallen leaves should be accessible on all continents,” Sobolenka notes, according to ZME Science."

first kiss with abby ୨ৎ
summary: after the romantic tension between you and abby reaches a peak, you two finally share a sweet kiss.
content: answer to this req and part two to this!! fluffyfluffyfluffy! ehehehehehe. i love fluff i love writing fluff. nothing nsfw. just lowk domesticity with abby and then super cutesy pie origami stuff and then a kiss 💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋 ok toodles enjoy
notes: three weeks of no post i’m sorry my children. i am back!!! classes just finished and now i have summer break so i just had to soak in my freedom from my fuckass med teacher. he can choke fr 💯
(wc 1.6k)
a series of vibrations from your phone rudely pulls you out of your sleep and you swipe your hand across the bed to silence the notifications. you find your phone connected to abby's charger on her vacant side of the bed, the sheets cold without the warmth from her skin to heat them up. she always ran hot—especially during the night—which usually resulted in her yelping at your cold feet pressed to her thighs and trying to absorb her warmth in the hours of the night.
you raise your phone to your face and are met with four notifications from abby on your home screen.
abby :p otw back with our loot
abby :p two berry pastries for the missus and one cream cheese puff pastry for me
abby :p and nadia gave us two chocolate croissants bc we're super cool
swiping to unlock your phone, you head to messages and reply to her.
you YAY thanks you're the best
you we gotta get nadia a gift card or somethin
you or a bottle of liquor
you head to the bathroom to brush your teeth with your toothbrush abby got for you for her apartment since you slept over so often. while you load your brush with toothpaste, your phone lights up with a notice from messages: "abby :p loved 'or a bottle of liquor.' " sticking the toothbrush in your mouth, you smile around the minty foam and continue freshening up before abby returns.
around ten minutes later, you hear the jingle of her keys at the front door and practically skip to the living room to retrieve your pastries.
abby unlocks the door and pushes it open, a brown bag with a cafe logo printed on it in one hand and a drink carrier with two coffee cups hanging from her ring and pinky fingers in her other. with her few remaining fingers grasping onto her car keys to not drop them, she nudges the door back shut with her hip and locks it.
her blonde head donns a blue and white trucker hat, the brim of it blocking her from seeing you standing and sheepishly smiling a few strides away. she calls out to you to signal her return.
"hey, i'm back! and i come bearing gifts. i got-" it's then that abby takes her hat off and notices you inching ever closer. "oh, hi. i got you herbal tea. there weirdly was a lot of traffic today, even though it's, like, seven."
she continues on as she unpacks everything that she got for you. "then again, i guess kids have school. man, i hated that about high school—waking up early and getting to class on tim- you know what? you're not listening anyway with your food right in front of you," she chuckles. "go on. release! free!" she pokes, using command words for a dog.
you kiss your teeth and scowl at her, mumbling a "whatever" before tearing into the paper bag. you're met with your two fruit pastries first, then you spot the chocolate croissants abby mentioned under them.
the two of you stand and eat in comfortable silence in the kitchen, you sipping on your tea and abby picking at her puff pastry. when you finish, you clean both of your spots and abby throws away the paper bag and pastry wrappers, washing her hands after.
after breakfast, you guys ping pong around her apartment, moving from her bed to the couch to the floor and then back to her bed again, all just to talk or scroll on your phones.
hours pass, and after a brief joint nap in her bedroom, you guys now sat on the floor of her living room, light filtering in from her large windows and warming your skin. the floor was littered in origami squares of all different sizes and colors, the origami book abby had gotten for you split open between you two.
there was a village of origami figures surrounding you, from hearts to frogs to ladybugs to cranes. the book was flipped to a particularly challenging page of an elephant, and you looked over at abby in confusion.
she was just as confused as you, if not more. her hair was tied in a messy golden knot at the nape of her neck, loose strands crazy and framing her face. her brows were pulled tight on her face, her eyes bewildered and looking at the same piece of paper in her hands as if she'd never seen it before.
"what step are you on?" she asks, looking at the square in front of you that you were working on.
"twelve. out of..." you flip the page twice. "god. thirty." you sit up straight to stretch your back out. "i get it, though. kinda."
"what? show me. i’m on, like, seven. i swear they skipped a step. or forgot to add a picture. just something is wrong."
you scoot over to sit next to her, pulling your leg to your body and propping your cheek on it. abby places her piece in front of you puts her hands in her crossed lap, her eyes wide and waiting for you to make sense of her issue.
"okay, let's see." you pull the book closer to you to confirm the step she's on. "step seven is... rotating and folding the back of the elephant."
"which i did," abby verifies.
you rotate the piece and immediately find her mistake. "which you did not."
"what?! where?"
"here." you trace your finger along the missing crease. "you see how on mine, this part is creased and pointed? like a peak?"
"uh-huh..."
"and yours doesn't do that."
she simply hums, so you look over at her to confirm that she's listening. her eyes are unfocused and locked on your face. they flit between your own and then drop to your lips for a second. the single second feels quite long, though, when she looks so deeply at you in the way that she does, or when her baby hairs draw attention to her blonde lashes, long and very slightly curled around her sapphire eyes.
she seems to snap out it—whatever it was—and she deeply inhales, licking her lips and refocusing on the task at hand.
"can you repeat that?" she asks. "sorry, i... i zoned out."
it was your turn, now, to lose focus and examine her. you stare at her lips, rosy and still glossy from her just licking them. you stare at the corners of them and the ever so slight frown her mouth always pulls into when she's focused. you stare at the little creases in them, the dozens of lines that-
"are you looking at my lips?" she questions, interrogative and almost paranoid.
"oh, um, sorry. i was-"
"why were you looking at them?" she interrupts again, her eyes wild and demanding an answer from you.
"because, i- well, you just licked them, so- i don't know. because." you swallow, mumbling, "what, can i not look at them or something?"
her stone stare softens after noticing your flustered state, and the two of you exchange a long and quiet look.
abby held her breath nearly the entire time. she didn't want to assume anything or read the situation wrong, but your eyes were dilated. they were dilated from looking at her, and just from that.
as if it were out of your control—like you were magnets—you started moving closer to her. abby could not seem to remember how to control a single muscle in her body, so she just sat and watched you move closer as her cheeks grew pinker and pinker.
you stop right in front of her face, the tips of your noses kissing and your breaths shared. after a few seconds, you realized abby wouldn't initiate anything, so you leaned in and pressed your lips to hers, short and sweet. when you pulled away, abby's eyes remained closed for a few seconds before they slowly fluttered open.
"you just kissed me," abby whispers in disbelief, pointing out the obvious.
"i just kissed you," you echo back.
it's abby who leans in for the second kiss, thick and intense with emotion, her hand sliding up your arm. her hand reaches the back of your neck, and she pulls you closer and deepens the kiss.
you press your forehead to hers and stop kissing her, an infectious smile taking up your features instead.
"are you.. are you seriously smiling right now?" abby gasps theatrically with mock offense.
your smile breaks out into giggles and you press your face into her cheek to hide.
"wow, i cannot believe this. you are laughing at our kiss!" she teases.
"stop, no i’m not!" you plead, still laughing.
"whatever you say." she grabs your chin between her fingers and pulls your face back to look at you. peppering kisses on your cheeks, she relents on her taunting.
"are you gonna show me what i did wrong, or what?" she says, referring to the initial topic of her paper elephant.
you smile back at her. "yeah, i will."
"okay." she presses one last kiss to your temple and then waits for your instruction.
"i was saying, there's supposed to be a crease here, on what'll be the back of the elephant."
abby nods and hums like she's listening, but really, she smiles at your profile as you continue to speak.

MORE DAD!CHRIS
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: dad!chris x reader
𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: you were sad when you had to work on your birthday, and chris knew you’d be stressed when you came home. so, he teamed up with your son to make a rememberable present.
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: FLUFFY, that’s it :)
𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 918
𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞: dad chris has my heart frfr.
you were bummed, to say the least when you got called into work on your birthday, and there was no way to call out.
chris insisted you go and said it was fine to watch the little one by himself for a few hours.
the little one in question is strapped into the baby carrier on chris’ front as he reads the box in his hand. he neatly has bowls and measuring cups out on the counter, all he needs now is the ingredients. both of them are in matching pajamas with dinosaurs on them. chris established these matching sets when atticus was born five months ago, and you loved the idea.
that’s when you knew he’d be a great dad.
“half a cup oil, one cup water, and three eggs. think we can handle it, buddy?” chris looks at your son and kisses him on the head. he purposely bounces to the cabinet and refrigerator to grab the supplies as atticus giggles at his movements.
he then grabs one of the measuring cups and fills it with water, placing it back with the other ingredients. “set the oven to 350°.” chris reads aloud, turning to face the stove.
“no touch,” he says, holding your son’s hands with one of his and using the other to press the buttons to the right temperature.
this results in atticus gripping onto chris’ pointer finger and not letting go. he doesn’t mind though, and continues reading off of the box. “beat cake mix, water, oil, and eggs in bowl… blah blah blah.”
he grabs the kitchen scissors, making sure he’s cutting far away from the child and cutting open the cake mix powder. he grabs the bowl, inching it closer. “want to put it in, buddy?” he asks, holding the bottom of the bag as atticus grabs the top of it.
all is going well until they drop the bag into the bowl, the mix that was already in making a mess on chris’s hands and atticus’ face. the baby laughs as chris picks up the pouch and finishes pouring it in. “oh, man.” chris sighs, taking his hand and rubbing the powder off of the child’s face.
“water—” he starts, but then a little hand accidentally knocks it over and spills it on the counter. he slowly looks at his father with no emotion, but chris smiles. “that’s okay. let’s clean up our mess!”
as in “our”, it’s chris using a paper towel while the little rascal just throws the piece he gave him onto the liquid to seem like he’s helping.
luckily the rest goes without a mess, and then the oven dings. chris wants atticus to be involved, so he helps him pour the batter into the circle-shaped pan (half of it ends up on the counter.)
he eventually takes the baby carrier off to not get him so close to the oven, atticus is now on his hip as he closes the oven and puts on a thirty-four-minute timer.
once the cake is cooled, chris puts the infant into his high chair with the cake in front of him. instead of bowls and measuring cups, icing, and sprinkles are on the counter. he knew what he was going to say next was a bad idea, but it was for a special occasion.
chris opens the icing and bottles. “make it pretty for mommy.” he says, giving your son free will to decorate the cake.
his attention span only lasted about ten minutes, but he got a few gallops of icing and sprinkles on. chris did help him write a message, but the rest was all from your little boy. atticus claps as chris looks at the cake, but then sighs when he looks at the messy counter of powder, batter, icing, and sprinkles. “your mother is going kill me.”
rubbing your eyes, you enter the front door of your house, pausing in place as you look at the kitchen. there was an attempt to clean up, but it was a mediocre job. “chris?” you call out, but there’s no answer. a certain object catches your eye and you walk over to it, smiling softly at the source that made the kitchen a disaster.
there was barely any icing on it, but you didn’t care. there were spots where there were a ton of sprinkles and no sprinkles at all. sloppy pink handwriting was written in the center of the cake, but you understood the message.
happy birthday mommy!
we love you ♡
you wipe the tears threatening to spill out of your eyes as you speed walk to the living room, seeing the two boys lying on the couch. the smaller one is asleep on your boyfriend’s chest, and the other is staring at the TV that’s muted. chris’s hand rubs on atticus’ back.
you walk in front of him, and he lazily smiles at you. you can tell he’s tired, but he’s fighting it. “he made you a cake.” chris mumbles, fluttering his eyes closed. you pick up your son gently as to not wake him, and start swaying from side to side when he squirms for a moment. “do you like it?” chris asks.
“i love it.” you say, a tear spilling from your eye. “it’s my favorite cake in the whole wide world.”
you kiss chris on the forehead and atticus on the cheek, thinking about how lucky you are. these are your two boys, and you never loved anything more in your life.

— i think i like when it rains • l.hs
— rainy mornings with boyfriend!heeseung.
warnings: none.
wc: 0.7k.
YOU WOKE UP TO A QUIET PATTER AGAINST your window, your bedroom that was usually filled with hues of golden from the sun peaking through the seams of the curtains in the early morning now left dim, a gloomy yet cozy atmosphere in place.
And you would have felt at peace, had you not felt the empty space in bed beside you. Robbed of the warmth you felt in the arms of your lover all night as you slept peacefully.
You sighed as you sat up, the comforter pooling around your waist whilst you brushed your hair out of your face and rubbed your tired eyes.
Eventually, dragging yourself out of bed, met with a slight chill lingering in the air of your shared apartment. To fix this, you reached for a familiar hoodie slung over the back of a chair settled into the nook of your desk. His, to be exact.
Slipping the soft fabric over your frame, you trudged through your apartment, leaving the bedroom behind. It appeared as though your timing was perfect, as the front door clicked open and shut, rustling filling your ears as you rounded the corner of the hallway.
Lee Heeseung stood at the entryway, clutching onto a paper bag in one hand and a drink carrier in the other, doing his best to slip off his shoes handlessly.
With a quiet, breathy laugh, your eyes softened as you drew closer, finally capturing his attention as he peered up upon hearing your voice — still filled with the remnants of sleep.
“Do you need help?” You asked in a quiet murmur, watching as a gentle smile crept up onto his lips and he shook his head no, managing on his own as he walked over to set the goods down on the kitchen counter.
“Good morning, love,” Heeseung greeted quietly once he finally had free hands, arms reaching out to draw you closer until you were settled comfortably against his chest.
“Morning.” You replied, a sigh of content falling from your lips as you were faced with the warmth of his embrace yet again.
He leaned down, pressing a soft kiss on the top of your head before pulling away just enough to get a good look at you.
“I was trying to come home before you woke up. You ruined my top secret plan.” He huffed jokingly, feigning annoyance with a subtle scrunch of his nose as you chuckled and hummed, tilting your head.
“Yeah?” You let out, raising a brow. “What top secret plan are we talking about?”
Heeseung smiled cheekily, pulling out of the hug he had initiated completely and ruffling your hair. His hand wrapped around yours, giving it a soft squeeze as he pulled you to the kitchen counter.
“To surprise you with breakfast in bed. Thought it’d be nice, and you deserve it.” He said, gesturing towards the bag filled with your favorite pastries and the small cups filled with coffee, purchased from a local coffee shop just down the block.
You nodded your head silently, gaze averting back over to him. Evidence of his brief outing resided in small droplets of rain that fell over his frame, soaked into the fabric of his navy blue sweatshirt.
“Thank you.” You spoke gently, wrapping your arms around him as you leaned up to press a soft kiss to his cheek. “You’re sweet.” You added on, as he returned your embrace, swaying you from side to side.
“Of course, ____.” He mumbled, your name falling from his lips ever so lightly, uttered out in the softest voice he could muster. “You only deserve the best, after all.”
“I’ll tell you what,” He began, head tilted off to the side as his eyes were filled with adoration and warmth. “It’s still quite early, isn’t it? So why don’t we eat breakfast, and go back to sleep for a little while longer?” He proposed.
“That sounds nice.” You agreed, welcoming the suggestion with ease as he hummed, cupping your cheeks in his hand and leaning down to peck your lips.
“Perfect.” Heeseung mumbled, flashing yet another of his loving smiles your way, making your heart flutter like you had fallen all over again.
That same morning, you found yourself wrapped up in bed all over again, your legs subtly tangled with another as he had you pulled close, a guiding hand laying your head against his chest.
You nestled closer, listening to the rhythmic patter of the rain that pushed up against the windows.
It was that moment forward that you declared rainy mornings with Lee Heeseung were the best.

hellooo !! thank you so much for reading.
truthfully, i didn't plan on publishing anything on this platform to begin with but i have suddenly got a spark of motivation, so i've been planning out a few things here and there to eventually publish.
unfortunately, this oneshot is not very ideal for me as i feel as though it's a bit sloppy and repetitive, but i wanted to quickly piece something together to put out just to test the waters whilst i plan out detailed and overall better stuff.
of course, i'll be taking requests as well. so if you would like to read anything specific for any (enhypen) member, feel free to drop it in the asks ^^
obviously, given that i am still unfamiliar with the layout of this app, the aesthetics for this oneshot and my profile as a whole are not very appealing at all, but i plan to revamp soon ! 😭🙏
anyway, once again, thank you for reading. much love !! xox 🤍

The Naughty Nanny Chapter 1
Summary: Bucky had a lovechild from a one night stand. He barely even remembered it, and was surprised to find a baby on his doorstep 9 months later. But one look at that little girl and he knew she was his and that he’d die for her. The only problem was, he knew nothing about babies, and being an Avenger meant he couldn’t just drop everything and be a dad full time. Then he found the perfect nanny…or so he thought.
**In this universe Steve never left, Tony never died.** **curvy reader** Warnings: talk of sexual harassment, unwanted/non-consensual touching/sexual assault, eventual smut
Next chapter
“Please go to sleep,” Bucky begged quietly as the baby wailed in her crib. He rubbed his face roughly, his eyes burning from lack of sleep. He felt a wave of emotion through him and started crying, which surprised him. He had gone through years of torture, being put on ice, memories wiped, the worst things imaginable done to him and forced on him to do to others, sleep deprivation worse than this and yet here he was crying over a crying baby.
He’d never had a lot of experience with babies. He had sisters back then, but his mother had always been the one to take care of them as infants. None of the other Avengers brought their kids around to headquarters. This baby was unknown to him until four weeks ago.
“Hey Bucky, uh…you’re needed in the lobby,” Sam’s voice rang through Friday’s intercom.
“Okay,” Bucky answered back up to the ceiling, then headed down to the front of the building. When he approached the front desk a small group was forming around something on the floor. “What’s going on?” he asked as he walked up to Sam.
Sam gave him a worried look then pointed to the floor. It was a baby in a carrier, fast asleep, covered in a blanket, a diaper bag and a box of things next to it. Steve was holding a note in one hand and reading it over and over again, the other hand holding a small stack of papers.
“Oh cute, whose baby?” Bucky said, smiling softly. Everyone in the room looked at him uneasily.
“It’s um…it’s yours,” Steve said hesitantly, handing him the note.
“What? That’s–” Bucky scoffed then read the note. It was scribbled hurriedly and he read it slowly.
‘James Barnes,
You won’t remember me but we had a one night stand a few months ago. I didn’t realize I was pregnant till it was too late to have an abortion. I’m not cut out for motherhood, and won’t be able to give her the life she deserves. You’re an Avenger, so I’m guessing you’ve got money or options to make sure she’ll get a fair shot. I haven’t named her, and I’ve signed away my rights. She was born March 10. I’m sorry to drop this on you.
Good luck.’
Bucky stared at the note. He really couldn’t remember most of the one night stands he’d had. They had usually been drunken encounters after too much Asguardian mead at one of Tony’s many parties. “I…I don’t...”
“We should take a DNA sample, make sure it’s actually his,” Tony piped up.
“Oh please, Tony, just look at her. She looks just like him,” Pepper smacked his arm. “Let’s get her checked out by a doctor and then we’ll go from there.”
Steve stepped up to Bucky. “Buck?” He clapped his shoulder, bringing him back to the present. “What do you want to do?”
Bucky eyed the papers in Steve’s hand, seeing the “Termination of Parental Rights” in bold at the top of the packet. His ears were ringing, his eyes wide as he fought off a panic attack. He looked at the baby again. She did look like him, a tuft of dark brown hair atop her head and his lips and dimpled chin. He stepped toward her and knelt down. He reached forward a finger and softly stroked her cheek. It made her stir a little and her eyes opened a little, flashing the same blue color of his eyes. She even shared his birthday. He smiled. “My baby,” he mumbled.
Bucky decided to name her Winnie, after his mother. The entire Avengers team had jumped into action that day, Tony and Pepper calling multiple people and getting baby items delivered to the compound, Bruce coming to take a DNA sample and do a preliminary check up on her until a pediatrician could come do a thorough examination, Steve and Sam standing with him as he held her and stared at her, giving him advice and trying to talk through what to do next.
As time went by he learned a lot. Tony brought in a few people to teach him parenting skills and how to feed her, change her, bathe her, what different cries could mean, and so much more that it made his head swim. He’d gotten the hang of it for the most part, getting into a routine with her, but on a night like tonight where the team was gone on a mission, with no one to help him, and it didn’t seem to matter what he did she just would not stop crying, he felt overwhelmed. Bucky didn’t know how parents did this, let alone with multiple children. He picked her up from the crib and cradled her against his chest, patting her back firmly but gently as his body bounced to try to soothe her again. She continued crying but it died down a little at having him close.
“Please, Winnie, I can’t…I don’t know what I’m doing,” he whispered and shushed her. He quickly wiped his tears, but they kept coming as her head thrashed against his sternum, like she wanted to burrow into him. He carried her to the front room of his apartment suite in the compound then to the kitchen, grabbing another bottle and warming it in the microwave. The movement seemed to help calm her a little until she was sniffling, whimpering and only occasionally letting out a little wail. He made sure the formula wasn’t too hot then sat on the large sectional couch and leaned back against the pillow. Before she could start crying from the loss of movement he stuck the bottle in her mouth and she immediately started eating, her wet eyes blinking up at him as she drew in a shaky breath.
“There you go,” Bucky breathed. “See, all that fussing for nothing. You stinker,” he smiled as he sniffed and wiped his tears again. He snuggled her against him as he tried to even out his breathing. She was so tiny against his large frame that it made him smile wider. He hoped this would be enough to get her to sleep for longer than 45 minutes this time. He stared up at the ceiling then got an idea.
“Friday?”
“Yes Sergeant Barnes?”
“I need interviews with potential nannies,” Bucky said, looking back down at Winnie. “Specifically for live-in, night nannies.”
“I’ll compile a list and reach out for preliminary interviews. Any specific qualifications that you would like to have listed?”
“No, just someone who knows what they’re doing,” Bucky sighed, his eyes getting heavier.
“Yes sir.”
“Thank you,” he yawned as Winnie finished the bottle. He burped her, thanking whatever higher being there was in the universe for her milk-drunk expression as she drifted back to sleep, joining her shortly after.
**Once again, thank the AI/Photoshop gods for this perfect picture of Bucky found on Pinterest.**

The Versatility of Paper Bags: From Functional to Fabulous
Paper bags are more than just vessels for carrying items; they're versatile, affordable, and customizable. Whether you opt for classic paper bags or chic black wrapping paper, the possibilities are endless. Add a touch of whimsy with hot pink bags or keep it understated with small gift bags – the choice is yours. With paper bags with handles, you can easily transport your goodies and add a practical yet stylish element to your party favors. Plus, paper bags are eco-friendly, making them the perfect choice for environmentally conscious hosts.
Crafting the Perfect Party Bag: Tips and Tricks
Creating the ultimate party bag doesn't have to be complicated. Start by selecting your paper bags – choose a size and style that suits your theme and budget. If you're hosting a birthday bash, consider personalized paper party bags adorned with the guest of honor's name and age. For a sophisticated soirée, opt for black wrapping paper bags accented with metallic ribbon or embellishments. Once you have your bags, it's time to fill them with goodies! Think beyond candy and trinkets – consider including DIY crafts, homemade treats, or themed knick-knacks to delight your guests.
Elevating the Experience: Paper Party Bags with Handles
While paper bags are practical on their own, adding handles takes them to the next level. Paper party bags with handles not only make it easier for guests to carry their goodies home, but they also add a touch of elegance and sophistication to your party favors. Choose from a variety of handle styles – from twisted paper handles to sleek ribbon handles – to complement your theme and aesthetic. With handles, your paper party bags with handles become more than just containers – they become part of the party experience, leaving a lasting impression on your guests.
Thinking Outside the Bag: Creative Party Favor Ideas
When it comes to party favors, the sky's the limit! Get creative with your goodies and think outside the bag. Consider incorporating themed items that tie into your party theme – from miniature Chinese lanterns for a lantern festival-inspired soirée to canvas shopping bags filled with beach essentials for a summer luau. Personalize your party favors with handwritten notes, custom stickers, or printed tags to add a special touch. Remember, it's the thought and effort you put into your gift bag that will truly make them stand out.
White Paper Bags: Elegance Personified
For a touch of sophistication, white paper bags present a clean and elegant alternative. They exude a sense of luxury and are ideal for presenting gifts, packaging merchandise, or creating elegant party favors. White paper bags come in a variety of sizes, from small and delicate to large and roomy, making them suitable for everything from a single piece of jewelry to a collection of boutique items. Often made from virgin paper, some boast a smooth, glossy finish that further enhances their high-end feel. However, many manufacturers offer recycled white paper bags, merging elegance with eco-consciousness.
Beyond Brown and White: A Rainbow of Paper Bag Options
The world of paper bags extends far beyond the classic brown and white. Dive into a spectrum of vibrant colors and discover a whole new way to express yourself! Hot pink bags add a burst of fun to birthday parties, while dramatic black wrapping paper creates a sophisticated presentation for special gifts. Whether you need a specific color to match a theme or simply want to add a pop of personality, there's a colored bag paper out there to make a statement. Some manufacturers even offer customizable printing options, allowing you to add logos, messages, or even photos onto the bag itself.
A World of Functionality: Paper Bags with Handles
Let's not forget the all-important handle! Paper bags with handles provide a convenient and comfortable way to carry your purchases, gifts, or party favors. Twist handles, often found on brown paper bags, offer a simple yet secure way to transport your goods. Die-cut handles, prevalent in white and colorful paper bags with handles, add a touch of style while maintaining functionality. For a truly luxurious feel, some bags even feature fabric handles that elevate the overall look and feel.
Conclusion
In conclusion, throwing a memorable party on a budget is entirely possible with the right mindset and resources. By harnessing the versatility of paper bags and getting creative with your party favors, you can treat your guests to a fun and affordable experience they won't soon forget. Whether you're hosting a birthday bash, a bridal shower, or a backyard barbecue, paper bag goodie bags are the perfect way to thank your guests for joining the celebration. acts of service
sydney lohmann x bayern!reader
summary: you and your girlfriend's love languages revolve around words of affirmation and acts of service
opening your eyes, you took a few moments to move your head up. seeing that the orange retro clock on your bedside table says “6:45 AM”, you smacked your head back onto the soft pillow and closed your eyes. you didn’t need to wake up for another hour. training for the pre-season starts at ten o’clock so you wanted all of the sleep that you could get.
it wasn’t five minutes until you closed your eyes that you flipped your body to its side. usually, your leg would come into contact with your girlfriend's leg while doing this in the morning. so, when your leg landed onto the soft mattress instead, your eyes shot open-- seeing an open space.
sydney isn’t the girlfriend that will wake up first in the mornings, its always you. this wasn’t normal, so you moved your tired body to sit up.
your hands moved to rub your eyes before you heard the front door in the apartment close shut from the living room.
your eyebrows knitted together, knowing that sydney must’ve left to go somewhere or she is coming back from somewhere. she didn’t leave too long ago, as you woke up to use the bathroom at 5:00am and saw sydney sleeping.
as you take the pink comforter off of your body, you hear footsteps approaching the room along with the aroma of your favorite breakfast wafting through the air.
your legs were on the edge of the bed as sydney stops in the doorway with a surprised look--- she is surprised to see you awake.
you looked at the brown paper bag in her right hand with suspicion as syd had a grin on her face. in her left hand, sydney held a 2-drink cup carrier with two drinks placed inside of them.
“baby, did you really just-?” you cut yourself off as you stood up in front of her, surprised at the gesture. you took the drink carrier out of her left hand as she moved to the other side of the large bedroom to grab the two bed trays you guys keep in the closets.
“yes i did!!” sydney said excitedly, which surprised you because the clock turned to 7am and usually sydney isn’t too energized this early.
you look down at the two drinks to see two iced lattes. one was a bit darker than the lighter one with strawberry cold foam on top of it. that one is yours, considering that sydney knows your order for the cafe on the corner of the same street you both live on.
sydney pulls out the food in the bag and you notice both of your favorite orders being sat on the bed trays.
the german girl usually orders an avocado toast topped with hard-boiled egg and a plain croissant. you get a plain croissant too, along with a plain bagel with light cream cheese.
the golden morning light filters through the ivory colored curtains, casting a warm glow over both of your features as you start to eat.
"i forgot to tell you good morning, sleepyhead," she starts to speak, her voice a melodic whisper.
“good morning, early bird,” you joked. this is a joke that started between the both of you even before you guys started a relationship two years ago.
everytime you woke up before her, which was everyday until this morning, she called you an early-bird because you were fully awake by the time she would wake up. most times, you’d have to force her to wake up with you so you aren’t late to training or games with bayern.
it looks like the roles switched this morning.
"I thought I'd surprise you when I saw that you were still asleep." sydney blushed as she looked at you sipping on the strawberry latte. it was made perfectly.
"this tastes amazing, but you’re even more amazing for this," you murmur, placing the iced drink down and stretching your tired arms before smiling at your girlfriend with tons of love in your eyes. "I don't know how you always know exactly what I need."
sydney laughs softly. "it's a gift. now, eat. we've gotta go training soon."
you spend the morning together, savoring each bite and sip. the intimacy of the moment is a reminder of why you love her so deeply. this isn’t the first time you’ve done this, it's almost a weekly thing. most of the time its you going down to the cafe and picking up sydney’s iced hazelnut latte though.
a week later, shortly after the first game of the season, sydney fell ill. her usual happy energy was diminished by a fever and sore throat. you both share an apartment, so you’re more than prepared and determined to take care of her.
sydney can be a little stubborn. at first, she said she was fine but you made her rest after taking medicine (given by the doctors at bayern) so she will feel better.
its been an hour since she fell asleep in a nap--- you start chores in the kitchen by tackling the dishes piled high in the sink, the clinking of plates and running water calms your mind as your tv in the living room serves as a nice background noise. next, you move on to do the laundry.
usually, sydney has a huge preference of doing the laundry while you tackle the dishes. both of you share the same clothes in the huge closet in the bedroom– so you chose to do all of the laundry this time to make her life easier.
in the laundry room– you threw most of the clothes in the washer and looked in the cabinets where you keep the detergents and other things. sydney likes to use the vanilla scented fabric beads for the washer– while you like the fresh clean scented ones– so you chose to use the vanilla beads with the regular laundry detergent.
you have to come back and do another two loads, considering how much clothes you and sydney own, so you sort out all of the jerseys and training gear, placing them in a pile so you’re prepared to wash those too after the first load is finished.
when you go to check on sydney in the bedroom, you find her awake. she has the tv on and is watching one of her favorite netflix movies. you felt terrible, sydney is shivering and you hated to see your sunshine so miserable while being sick.
“hey sweetheart.” you sat on the edge of the bed and ran your hands through sydney’s soft, yet tangled, hair. you felt terrible and knew you had to get sydney cleaned up.
"i know you might not like this but let’s get you cleaned up, sunshine. it might help you feel better." you say softly. due to her sore throat, she can’t speak much without irritation. you understand as you pull the pink comforter off of her body, helping the taller girl stand up as you led her into the bathroom ten steps away.
you undress the woman who was just settled into a sports bra and shorts before. you take your hands and help her into the shower, supporting her weight as the warm water cascades down her body.
first, you let her sit down as you started to wash her hair first. this step takes about 20 minutes, since you mainly gave her head massages while cleaning her scalp. after saturating one of your hydrating hair masks into her hair, you helped her stand up in the warm (not hot) shower.
next, you take the antibacterial soap as you started to wash away the sweat and sickness from her body.
as you take the silicone scrub and clean her body, you rub her back and murmur comforting words, feeling her sick body relax under your touch.
after double cleansing her body with her favorite citrus scented soap, you washed the hair mask out of her hair and helped her sit back down. you plugged the tub and allowed the water to run, adding a few of her favorite essential oils and bubble bath soap that will calm her body and mind.
you didn’t notice– or care– that your entire front side is soaked. you didn’t get into the shower and bath with her, but you allowed her wet body to hold onto your clothed body. your blue shirt sticks to your front due to how soaked it is, along with your white pajama shorts, but you didn’t care.
sydney stayed close to the edge of the tub as she held onto you. you sat on your knees outside of the tub and cuddled with your arms wrapped around her body.
this might’ve been dumb, considering that you can catch her sickness next and miss out on the next game against slavia praha– you couldn’t care less knowing that your sweetheart is sick.
"you're too good to me," you hear sydney whisper, her voice weak but filled with gratitude as she felt your small kisses on the back of her shoulder.
"you're everything to me syd," you reply, moving your body over so you could kiss her cheek. "i’d do anything for you."
two weeks later– it was the evening on a day off from soccer-related stuff. sydney started to get over her sickness a week prior, so she is back to normal.
as you both sit in the living room, with you on the floor in-between sydney’s legs on the couch— sydney’s fingers weave through your hair with practiced ease.
"hold still," she instructed as your head looked up at the TV playing mean girls. the german is concentrating on forming perfect french braids in your hair. you feel her breath against the top of your head, her presence is calming. the gentle tugging and twisting of your hair is almost meditative, each braid giving a symbol of her love and care.
when anybody plays with your hair, your body goes into relaxation. since it's sydney playing with your hair, you could’ve fallen asleep right here. your eyes continue to close and shut as sydney continues to move her fingers in your hair.
"why do you always braid my hair?" you ask softly, smiling at the thought with your eyes closed in relaxation.
during games for bayern, you’re an attacking midfielder– or a forward if someone is injured– who is considered to be one of the best.
many pictures taken of you during games capture you with nice french braids in your hair– or with a low ponytail that's braided. sydney is the hairstylist behind those braids which made her so happy seeing you on the pitch with them nicely finished.
"because i love your hair– it's so soft, and i know it makes you relax." she replies simply as she ties together the first braid.
a month later-- after a particularly harsh game at bayern, with sydney getting into a fight with a ref that gave her a yellow card– you both return home.
her shoulders are slumped and her eyes are filled with frustration as her mind replayed the moment when she got a yellow card.
you got a yellow card too earlier in that game, after failing to side tackle a ball– and hitting the wolfsburg forwards ankles instead– but you brushed it off as a mistake. however, you can see the weight of her bad moment pressing down on her.
in the car and in the locker room you gave her space– now you’re back home. without a word, you wrap your arms around her on the couch, pulling her into a tight embrace. sydney melts into you, her facade cracking as she lets out a shuddering breath.
you held her hand and caressed her face with your fingers. "talk to me," you urge gently. sydney used to have a thing for holding her thoughts inside of her mind until they exploded. now, she is aware that she can talk to you about anything.
“i’m so mad! the ref saw that she pushed me first, so why did i get the yellow card while she was able to walk away with no consequences.” sydney begins to unload, her words tumbling out in a rush of emotion.
by “she”, sydney is referring to a wolfsburg defender who pushed her from behind as she tried to pass a ball to you. you listen intently, knowing that sydney is telling the truth. as you watched sydney fall to the ground, all of your teammates ran over to the ref and demanded a foul and yellow card for the player’s action.
you on the other hand, you ran over to help sydney up from the ground. she acknowledged your support but jogged over to the ref. the conversation was short but got heated quickly. your eyes widened when you saw the ref pull out the yellow card looking at sydney.
as sydney continued to talk, you offered words of reassurance and understanding. sometimes, refs make the calls you don’t like– and all you can do is move on.
after getting her to calm down by cuddling on the couch and watching the women’s el clasico match on live television, sydney spoke out randomly as the game paused for halftime.
"y/n, i feel a lot better after talking about what happened. thank you– you're always here for me," she murmurs, her head resting on your shoulder as she gives you a kiss on your neck. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
"you don’t have to thank me baby, it's what i love to do– and you'll never have to find out what it's like without me," you promise, stroking her hair. "we're in this together, forever and always."
