Superlek Kiatmoo9 vs. Panpayak Jitmuangnon
Sadly, I don't think we're ever getting that Superlek-Rodtang fight. That sucks.
Still, ONE has a pretty good main event set for ONE Fight Night 12 on Amazon Prime this Friday (July 14). We will get Superlek facing off against Tagir Khalilov in a Muay Thai bout.

Panpayak “The Angel Warrior” Jitmuangnon, 24, and Superlek Kiatmoo9, 24, will battle it out at “ONE: No Surrender.” Both fighting out of Thailand, the two fighters will compete in a Muay Thai match in the 61.2kg division using 4oz. boxing gloves.
Featuring mixed martial arts, Muay Thai and kickboxing, “ONE: No Surrender” will take place in Bangkok, Thailand on July 31, 2020. It marks the first flagship event of ONE Championship after going on hiatus due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and its expanded return to closed-door, audience-free live events.
“I’m very thankful to get the chance to compete in ONE Championship again,” Panpayak said. “In the world now that is filled with uncertainty, it’s just fortunate that we can still do what we love to do. I want to keep fighting and rising through the rankings until I get the chance to fight for the World Championship.”
“My next opponent is a tough one,” Panpayak said of Superlek. “Weve faced each other in the past so we know each other’s style quite well. All I can say is the fans can expect fireworks. I can’t underestimate him at all.”
“I’m excited to return to the bright lights of Bangkok to compete in this huge event,” Superlek stated. “I’d like to thank the ONE Championship organization, which has given Thai athletes tremendous opportunities.”
“Panpayak is a very good, well-rounded fighter.” Superlek continued. “I’ve faced him before and we’ve always had good fights. I can say, we will probably have another good one again.”
“I’ll do my very best and train my hardest regardless of the result,” Superlek added. “Let’s put on an awesome show.”
Because of the travel restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, “ONE: No Surrender” will feature only athletes who are currently in Thailand and it will be broadcast live around the world across more than 150 countries. ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong stated, “After returning with the successful ONE Hero Series 13 and 14 events in China last weekend, ONE Championship will now kick off our flagship event schedule with ONE: NO SURRENDER on July 31 in Bangkok, Thailand.”

Superlek Kiatmoo9 vs. Panpayak Jitmuangnon 8 - ONE Championship 164
2022 was a good year for Superlek. 3 Muay thai fights, 3 wins for the Thai. Including a controversial win over Panpayak in their best of 8 series (so far). Sadly, he didn’t get the flyweight grand prix win because both he and Panpayak missed weight.
Superlek returns to kickboxing and will fight for the vacant ONE kickboxing Flyweight championship. He’ll face Daniel Puertas of Spain in the co-main event of ONE on Prime Video 6 this Friday (Jan. 13).

Jonathan Haggerty Plans To Unveil ‘New Trick’ Against Taiki Naito
Tumblr media
With a win this Friday, Jonathan “The General” Haggerty would reinforce his #3-contender spot in ONE Championship’s flyweight Muay Thai rankings.
But it won't be easy, as the former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion will have to overcome Taiki “Silent Sniper” Naito at ONE: BIG BANG II, a previously recorded event from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
“Naito’s main attributes are his counterattacks. He likes to make you overstretch, and once you do, that’s when he counters,” Haggerty said.
If the Englishman can avoid those counters and score a highlight-reel victory, it could kick-start another journey back to the gold – beginning with matchups against other top-five contenders.
“I think a spectacular KO in this one, then maybe [I could face] the top two, Panpayak [Jitmuangnon] and Superlek [Kiatmoo9]. Then, hopefully, get my own chance [at the World Title] again,” Haggerty said.
“[Petchdam Petchyindee Academy is also] 100 percent a fight that I’m interested in. I fight well against southpaws. That would be amazing, so bring it on.”
While Haggerty ultimately wants a trilogy bout with reigning divisional king Rodtang, it all starts with beating Naito decisively.
“I feel like I have to win this one, and not only do I have to win it, I have to win it convincingly and in spectacular style,” Haggerty said.
“I’m going to be trying to pull some tricks out of the bag. Let’s get this World Title back.”
“The General” is so confident of a victory that he’s even predicting the exact round it’ll happen in – and teasing a new technique he’s been working on.
“I’d say [I will win by] round-two stoppage. A Jonathan Haggerty downward elbow – then maybe a new trick that I’ve developed in training, so get ready for it,” he said.
“One-hundred percent, I will be back at the top.”
Catch ONE: BIG BANG II, a previously recorded event from the Singapore Indoor Stadium that airs this Friday, 11 December, on meWATCH or the ONE Super App at 8:30 p.m. Singapore Standard Time (SGT). Also, Channel 5 will cut into the broadcast at 10 p.m. SGT.
