The first thing I learned in astrology was how to read the Panchang. It is a crucial aspect of astrology. A "Panchang" (also spelled "Panchanga" or "Panchangam") is a traditional Hindu calendar used in Indian astrology. It provides detailed information about the daily astronomical and astrological conditions and is used to determine auspicious times for various activities and rituals. A Panchang typically includes the following elements: Tithi: The lunar day, which is a phase of the moon. Each month has multiple Tithis, and they help determine the timing of festivals and religious observances. Vara: The day of the week, named after a specific planet. For example, Sunday is associated with the Sun, Monday with the Moon, and so on. Nakshatra: The lunar constellation or star that the moon is passing through on a given day. There are 27 Nakshatras, each with its own significance in astrology. Yoga: A combination of the positions of the Sun and Moon. There are 27 Yogas in a Panchang, and they influence the auspiciousness of the day. Karana: Half of a Tithi. There are 11 Karanas, and they are used to determine specific times for activities. The Panchang is used by Hindus for planning important events, such as weddings and religious ceremonies, ensuring they align with auspicious times according to astrological principles.

*Yugadi, Ugadi* Ugadi, the New Year for the people living in the Indian Deccan area celebrate the arrival of spring season. This is the time of the year when the entire nature appears to be drowned in the festive spirit and their lies the spiritual significance of Ugadi. Like the new leaves, new buds, fresh breeze and bright sunlight, the Ugadi festival also symbolizes the birth of a new era. It is celebrated on Shukla Paksha of the first month Chaitra of the Hindu calendar and also the first season, Vasanta –Ritu Spring). Yugadi... "Yugasya Adih" means the beginning of the era. Vasudha (Earth) completes her annual cycle of orbiting around the sun and begins a new cycle. Similarly, Earth's satellite Moon also begins its orbit around Earth afresh. 1. Of months I am Mārgaśīrṣa, and of seasons I am flower-bearing *Spring* (Ugadi) 2. Lord Brahma started creation on this day - Chaitra suddha padhyami or the Ugadi day. 3. Maharshi Vedavyasa describes this event with the words "Yesmin Krishno divamvyataha, Tasmat eeva pratipannam Kaliyugam". Kali Yuga began on February 17/18 at midnight in 3102 BCE 4. People traditionally gather to listen to the recitation of the religious Panchangam (almanac) of the new year, and the general forecast of the year to come. This is called the 'Panchanga Sravanam', an informal social function where an elderly and respected person will read the almanac. 5. "பிரபு! தேவி கஷ்டப்படுவதாக எண்ணி, நீங்கள் கவலைப்பட வேண்டாம். தங்களின் திருநாமத்தை மறந்தால்தான் கஷ்டம் வரும். பிராட்டியோ எப்போதும் தங்கள் பெயரையே, ("ராம" நாமம்) ஜெபித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார். அதனால் அவருக்கு கஷ்டம் என்பதே கிடையாது" என்று அனுமன் அவருக்கு ஆறுதல் அளித்தார்.

ராமர் அவரை ஆரத் தழுவி, "அனுமான்! உன்னிடம் நான்பட்ட கடனை எப்படித் தீர்ப்பேன்?" என்றார்.

அனுமனின் உடல் அப்படியே சிலிர்த்துப் போனது. "பகவானே! என்ன சொல்லி விட்டீர்கள்? என்னைக் காப்பாற்றுங்கள்!" என்று ராமரின் திருவடிகளில் சரணடைந்தார்.

அப்போது கருணையுடன் அனுமன் தலையை கோதியபடி ராமர் ஆசி வழங்கினார்.

இவை அனைத்தும் "ஸ்ரீ ராம ஜெயம்" எழுதுவதால் ஏற்படும் நன்மைகள்.

குறிப்பு: ஒரு குடும்பம் 1008 முறையாவது "ஸ்ரீ ராம ஜெயம்" எழுத வேண்டும். எந்த மொழியிலும் எழுதலாம்.
