Recommender: Experts weigh in on the future of the industry
If you're in the Pensacola area, then you have probably already experienced the need for having to remove a tree or stump or getting your tree's trimmed. The cost of tree removal varies depending on a few factors, such as: - The type of tree that needs to be removed - The size of the tree - The location of the tree - The condition of the tree Pensacola Tree Removal offers competitive pricing for our tree removal services. For a full list of services Tree removal services visit Pensacola Tree Removal Service for a fast, friendly and reliable quote that you can count on. This will help not only beautify your property but also is the safest way to do it. Ken Hutcheson LM: What does it take to make it in the industry? “I’ll be straight up: You need to enjoy managing some level of what I call chaos. That’s a negative word, but we deal with weather, we deal with small tools and equipment, we deal with employees, we deal with customers. If you don’t enjoy moving those pieces around on the chessboard, if you don’t enjoy waking up and saying, ‘I’m going to control what I can control,’ if you can’t manage those unexpected things, then you know what? You probably shouldn’t own any kind of a business — stay in that cubicle,” said Ken Hutcheson, president, U.S. Lawns. LM: Where do you foresee the future of private equity investment in the lawn care market? Robert Palmer “I’ve been following it since private equity jumped into the pest control world almost 10 years ago. We see that there’s three or four primary private equity players moving into the green space, and that’s going to consolidate down to three. And that consolidation is already beginning. Eventually, there will probably be two or three primary private equity folks that are going to continue to consolidate. I think it’s a great thing for our industry because it’s bringing in so much talent, and we’re seeing a lot of these companies really become better businesses that do lawn care versus really good lawn care companies that are growing at business. I think the business acumen is growing,” said Rob Palmer, president, Lawn Squad (part of private equity-backed Authority Brands). Josh Sevick LM: How do you feel about the future of the lawn care business? “I’ll dissect that a little bit for the Grounds Guys that has been, over the last few years, one of our fastest growing businesses here. We love the upside. We love people thinking about investing in their homes, thinking about having the outdoor space be more than just a place where you walk through. It’s a place where you want to live, right? You want to beautify that area. The Grounds Guys want to be a part of that. We’re really finding great profitable services to go after in that space. And we think that’s a major growth area. The growth in that space in general is relatively untapped,” said Josh Sevick, group president, Neighborly, The Grounds Guys and Lawn Pride. Jennifer Lemcke LM: What is the best advice you’ve been given that you always try to abide by? “Listen so you can have thoughtful inputs, whether it be an issue, idea or a thought. If you don’t listen, you start working on the wrong problems. This is something I’ve always held true all through my career: master the art of listening and hearing what is being said,” Jennifer Lemcke, CEO, Weed Man. LM: What is your favorite magazine in the industry? Josh Wise “That’s easy. I know personally, when I first started the business and got into this thing, I relied heavily on Landscape Management magazine for everything from the how-tos to the different columns that are in there: weed identification, insect identification, marketing and advertising. You guys really have done well over the years with educating and teaching and training the industry and the owner. I applaud you,” said Josh Wise, CEO, GrassRoots Turf. The post Recommender: Experts weigh in on the future of the industry first appeared on Landscape Management.

Maybe We Need a “Rahm Rule”
By ED TRAVIS
Jon Rahm’s chip-in on the 16th hole Sunday at the Memorial Tournament all but clinched his victory and was described variously as “masterful” and even “Seve-like.” However, PGA Tour rules officials said his ball moved prior to the chip and assessed a two-shot penalty which reduced the 25-year old Spaniard’s margin of victory from five strokes to three.
It was clear Rahm did not intentionally move the ball, no one says he did and in fact from his reaction during the post round interview when told of the penalty he had not even realized what had happened. All the furor from pundits and fans centers on the fact only by an examination of an extreme closeup video could the change in position of perhaps a quarter of a dimple be detected.
The 2019 modifications in the Rules of Golf incorporated a Decision 34-3/10: Limitations on Use of Video Evidence that would seem to cover the Rahm situation but evidently not in the minds of PGA Tour officials. Here is the wording from the Rule:
“In such situations, if the Committee concludes that such facts could not reasonably have been seen with the naked eye and the player was not otherwise aware of a potential breach of the Rules, the player will be deemed not to have breached the Rules, even when video technology shows otherwise. See also Decision 18/4. In applying this “naked eye” standard, the issue is whether the facts could have been seen by the player or someone else close by who was looking at the situation, not whether the player or anyone else actually saw it happen.”
The decision penalizing Rahm seems to be in direct opposition to the Rules of Golf which uses the double standard of intent and being able to be seen by the naked eye.
Perhaps we need a stronger Rule, the “Rahm Rule,” making application of the “naked eye” standard unquestionable. Of course, the problem is if the player or caddie or anyone close by cannot see a movement measured in millimeters how can any standard no matter how well phrased be applied if closeup video is excluded per Decision 34-3/10 quoted above?
The answer is simple and probably not many will endorse in our argumentative litigious culture. A new rule, the Rahm Rule reverting to the old out of fashion idea golf is a “gentlemen’s game” and place complete trust in the player calling the penalty on himself.
We know change can happen in a positive way and the USGA can respond quickly. Remember the “DJ Rule” which came out of the fiasco Dustin Johnson was brutally subjected to in the final round of the 2016 U.S. Open. Without dredging up all the painful memories, the USGA conceded DJ’s penalty was from applying the standard he had moved a ball on the green “more likely than not.” The Rules were rewritten to remove what in effect was a 51 percent certainty to a realistic “the player will be found to be the cause only when it is known or virtually certain (meaning at least 95 percent) to be the case.”
Golf is a grand game at every level and tainting a performance such as Rahm’s with unnecessary complications and penalties is out of place. Golf calls for a standard of behavior and even if it sounds old fashion the standard is that of being ladies and gentlemen.
Our society may belittle the idea, but character still counts, and the Rahm Rule should work. It used to.
Arnold Palmer said it best, “Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates the intellect. It is at the same time rewarding and maddening – and it is without a doubt the greatest game mankind has ever invented.”

The Aston Martin Vantage AMR Brings Back the Manual Transmission
The Aston Martin Vantage AMR has a standard seven-speed manual transmission that was first used in the old V12 Vantage S.Only 200 AMRs will be built, but the manual will become an option on the regular Vantage next year. The AMR is 209 pounds lighter than the standard Vantage and gets unique design cues.Last week, we told you that a new AMR version of the Aston Martin Vantage will have a manual transmission and that it will be "coming soon." Well, it turns out that "soon" is already here. Aston has revealed the Vantage AMR, and as we suspected, it uses a seven-speed manual transmission with a dogleg-style first gear. The transmission was developed by Graziano and was first used in the V12 Vantage S from a few years ago. The racing-inspired dogleg setup means second through seventh gears are in a traditional H pattern, but first gear is down and to the left while reverse is up and to the left, the opposite of a traditional manual gearbox. It has what Aston calls Amshift, which is a rev-matching system that also allows for full-throttle upshifts; the system can be turned on or off. In addition to the gearbox, the AMR also gets a limited-slip differential that was developed by Aston's racing team.
The AMR is said to weigh 209 pounds less than a regular Vantage thanks to the removal of the automatic transmission and the fitment of carbon-ceramic brakes as standard. Weight distribution is a perfect 50/50 split, and Aston's quoted dry weight is 3305 pounds. (An automatic 2019 Vantage we tested weighed in at 3726 pounds.) While power from the V-8 is unchanged at 503 horses, torque has gone down from 505 lb-ft to 461 lb-ft (both peaking at 2000 rpm). Aston's quoted zero-to-60-mph time for the AMR is slower than the regular Vantage's, too, at 3.9 seconds for the AMR versus 3.5 for the standard car. Top speed remains 195 mph. In addition to the manual transmission and its accompanying leather-wrapped shifter, the AMR gets a handful of cosmetic enhancements. New 20-inch forged aluminum wheels look like those on the Rapide AMR, and the brake calipers are painted to match other trim pieces in Lime Green, which is the AMR signature color. The design of the carbon-fiber side vents is new, and the hood gets a pair of new carbon-fiber vents. The AMR also features a bunch of standard kit that's optional on regular Vantages, including a sport exhaust system with quad pipes, sport bucket seats, and lots of dark interior and exterior trim.
Only 200 AMRs will be built, with the first 141 coming in China Grey, Onyx Black, Sabiro Blue, or White Stone paint with a choice of four interior schemes-Aston calls the specs "designer specifications." The AMR will start at $183,081, or $30,000 more than the standard Vantage. The final 59 cars in the AMR's run are dubbed Vantage 59; these will feature a special color and option combination (shown in these photos) that celebrates Aston's 1959 Le Mans win, similar to the recently revealed DBS 59. Those 59 cars will cost $208,081 to start. If you're not one of the lucky 200 people that will receive a Vantage AMR-and given how quickly models like this sell out, you probably aren't-don't fret. Aston says that the regular Vantage will gain the AMR's manual transmission as an option beginning in the first quarter of 2020, once all the AMRs have been sold. There's no word as to whether the manual will be a no-cost option, an extra-cost option, or actually cheaper than the automatic.
In speaking about the AMR's conception and the new manual option, Aston CEO Andy Palmer says he has always promised that Aston would offer a manual in its lineup-it's something that customers were asking for. The Vantage thus honors that promise and "sets apart from competitors in continuing to offer a three-pedal option," according to Palmer. As for that competition, the Porsche 911 is the only other car that can be had with a manual. "In a world of autonomous robo-taxis, Aston Martin will continue to advance the art and science of performance driving," Palmer says, adding that the Vantage AMR is "a thoroughly modern sports car that rewards effort and focus from the driver, the antidote to driving a computer game." At Car and Driver, we're all about saving the manuals, so Palmer's statement is music to our ears.

The Wind at Night, by Cedar Sigo
I set out my heavy books and maps to cover the entire desk, a forthright tension pervades the room until a machine-like, unthinking fluency begins to take over, “words that come in smoke and go.”[i] Why do I push myself to constantly reconfigure the edges of my own voice? At the very instant they fall and become recognized as sounds they are quickly stamped as unearned, to be abandoned, a hanging without wall….
As a poet I want to feel surrounded by structures that I can both see through and live inside of.
This seems a result of my chronic formal restlessness, the fact that I have always placed more of a premium on outrunning my voice rather than ‘finding’ it. This is a perfect mindset for any poet who wishes to obliterate the burden of narrative.
It has often been said that over the course of their lives all poets are secretly writing a single work, whether branded as an epic or not. The interruptions of books and individual titles can barely conceal my long history of tracing architectures within language. Whichever forms of traction I can find I then subvert, certain I will never see that first construct again anyway. It was the great poet Jack Spicer that dismissed certain of his early poems as “one-night stands, filled with their own emotions, but pointing nowhere.”
The voice rises and falls and sometimes dissolves its own scaffolding. How perilous is the footing of music? I feel as though I have spent ten years building an electric organ that might cradle my voice. Tonight, I would like it to sound as though it were buried under wet sand.
“She tortures the curtains of the window, shreds them like some insane insect, creates a demented web from the thin folds, her possessed fingers clawing. She thrusts them away with sharp jabs of long pins to the walls.” – Joanne Kyger from The Maze (1957)
So much is at risk in anyone’s attempt to compose an anthem. It almost feels like an impossible task to ever consciously ‘take on.’ Last year I began to put together a composite text of lines culled from I Have Spoken: American History Through the Voices of the Indians, Indian Oratory and Great Speeches by American Indians. I would mark every line that caught my eye or ear (my heart) and eventually type it into the text. I remember adding lines of poetry to this mix as well to give it some buoyancy. These passages were obtained through random opening of a postmodern anthology. I can’t remember the exact title. This weaving of the various materials into the ‘urtext’ produced a persistent delirium for the entire three weeks of its composition. Below is a short excerpt from the initial text:
“…I shall own a book of old Chinese poems and binoculars to probe the river trees. You issued the first soldiers and we only answered back. Frogs sing in the green rushes, everywhere the same call of being to being. I was born upon the prairies where there was nothing to break the light of the sun. I want to die there and not within walls. I have not and never did have any motive of poetry but to achieve clarity. Somber clouds waver in the void. I have laid aside my lance and bow and shield. I have no little lies hidden about me. With the hair of their women to hold them back. The road clear from her body past the window glass. Are the commissioners clear as I am? The posts must be removed and the steamboats stopped. My life is buried with all sorts of passage, both down the sides and on the face turned down to earth…”
I thought that by corralling the most luminous lines into one text and then cutting it various ways I might gain the contours of a new voice, or even a literal message to be delivered. I now realize that I was seeking evidence of what Brion Gysin and William Burroughs often referred to as “the third mind.” Here is a section from the middle of the poem, currently titled “The Prisoner’s Song,”
Looking Glass is dead
The circular blue paper is the sky
We see some green spots which are pleasing
Are the commissioners clear as I am?
I gave them a blue flag which they pretended to cherish
I live in hopes. I do not have two hearts
The Illinois River will rise
A single warrior to write beyond without me
Death at the hands of the long guns
Did I say death? Or the springs are drying up?
Find the break where blood runs clear
Through the love you bear your gallant little band
Writing this poem felt like fiddling with the knobs of an old crackling car radio until its wires suddenly crossed to connect me with the dead. It felt as if its signal could only come alive within the desert of west Texas where I was then writing. All kinds of edges and tailoring of the line would emerge. The only way out was literally through the raw text. I cut and rearranged until I felt I had uncovered every change in every possible key. I had successfully destroyed my own instrument. Near the end of this work I included a quote from Joy Harjo that seemed to speak directly to the scope of its process, “Not to reverse history, but to draw out the strength.”
In this current, sickening political climate I have come to think of every poet as a wayward soldier who at some point will function as a prophet, degraded crown and all. I often think of Amiri Baraka’s clarity in reminding us that misfortune often arises when we stop struggling.

Olicity quotes from season 4
Another season of highs and lows. Please help with this trend on Monday and Tuesday if you can!
Felicity Smoak... Mm-hmm. You have failed this omelet.
You know, it's criminal how easily cooking's come to you. Well, I always wanted to expand my horizons beyond what I could do on the island, which was basically... was cooked and uncooked. How was your jog? It was good. I'm getting used to running without chasing after someone. Mm-hmm. I’m kind of sweaty. I know. It's amazing.
Why'd you get this one removed? I don't need it anymore. So what do you have planned for the rest of the day? A business conference with the Palmer Tech board, who still question whether I'm fit enough to inherit Ray's legacy. Hey, how'd you like the company back as an early Christmas gift? You're doing a better job of running it than I would. It's flirting with bankruptcy. Exactly. This is flirting. Mmm. I gotta go. Where are you going now? I have to get stuff at the Farmers Market for brunch tomorrow. Right. The Hoffmans are coming over. I forgot. I'm never gonna get tired of making plans that don't involve people shooting at me.
So what's the occasion? We need an occasion for dinner? No. Ever since you discovered cooking, life's been a never-ending episode of "Master Chef." But this isn't dinner. This is a production. Are we... Celebrating something? It sort of depends on how dessert goes. Oh, no, no, no. I'm almost disgustingly full. You are going to have to try a bite or two of this souffle.
Uh-oh. You have mopey face. Were you worried after 5 months of happiness that you weren't going to be able to make it anymore? I ran into Lance. And he gave you a hug because he missed you? Yeah, well, it's not just Lance. Thea. There is something wrong with Thea. She doesn't want my help and neither does Diggle. We should never have come back here. Let's go. Let's go home. You don't want to go home. I love our new home. And I love you. But I also love it here, and you can't honestly tell me that you don't. Yeah, no, of course I miss aspects of it. The sense of purpose, the idea of helping people. But Lance was right. About what? A few months ago he told me that all I brought back from the island was pain, misery, and darkness. Of course I knew that the moment we came back here, that darkness would be waiting for me. Well, he's wrong. Dead wrong. You didn't bring the darkness back with you from Lian Yu. But, Felicity, I'm telling you that the only way I know how to fight the darkness is to be darkness. That is why I left. And I don't want to be that type of person anymore. Maybe you just need to be a different kind of person. And you're not doing this alone anymore.
Well, I have to say it feels good to be at a keyboard for something other than a teleconference. I need a map with a list of all the spots the ghosts have hit, including where they encountered the team. And if we get lucky, maybe we can-- Triangulate and determine the point of origin of where the ghosts are operating out of, yes? Yeah.
Felicity. Want to play a game? What game are we playing?
I'm just going over the past 5 months in my head. When you got food poisoning when we were in Thailand... Yes. I might have been secretly working with the team, but I didn't exactly lie about the food poisoning. Laab moo is extremely hard to digest. What about when you missed our boat, missed in Positano? Ok, that one was a little fib. Bali? Felicity, you said there wasn't even email in Bali. I know! But we both know I'm just that good. I don't understand. The whole point of starting over was to get away from all of this, and we were both right there together leading that charge. I know. And I thought that's what we needed. And the first few months were great, really great. But then when you and Laura Hoffman started exchanging cooking tips, I secretly wanted to gouge out my eyes. I thought you were happy. I was. Deliriously happy with you, but bored with everything else. I missed this. I missed saving the city and helping people. It gives my life purpose. And I wish I got the same thrill from picking between the dimpled flatware or the scalloped, but I just don't. Hey. I don't care that you lied to me. I don't care. I care that the entire time we were supposed to be away together, part of you was still here. I love every moment that I'm with you, no matter where we are.
You know, I'd hate to disappoint you, but that speech is pretty hopeful. Why would that disappoint me? Oh, you know how you said you didn't know how to be a hero without the darkness? And I know how you hate being wrong.
You look nice. It's my first day back at Palmer Tech. I get to be bossy today, because I am the boss of a multi-billion dollar corporation. I know I should be nervous, I know, but I'm not. I'm actually really excited. You should be excited. That's why I got you the... first day as a boss fern. Aww. And... Packed your lunch. Who are you?
It's one of the benefits of your girlfriend inheriting a multi-billion dollar conglomerate. We have money now. When we decided to stay in Starling-- I mean, hmm, Star City, I was excited. I thought it meant a new beginning. And now, we've only been back a week. John is still mad at you, Thea's gone pit crazy, I've spent the last two days putting people out of work. If you think that we made a mistake, we didn't. Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy. We said that we were going to do things differently. We just need...time to figure out how.
I put everything into your father. My love, my trust, my twenties. My point is, you... are not me. You are the CEO of a bajillion dollar company. And Oliver, he's not like your father, hon. He loves you. No one has ever looked at me the way he looks at you. He's wonderful. In a million different ways. But that's the problem. It's too easy to lose myself in him. Baby. That's how it's supposed to feel when you love someone. Believe it or not, he's lost himself in you. And you'll find yourself in each other. Just don't get in your own way. And don't ruin something that most people never get. 'Cause if you do, trust me, you'll never find another guy that hot again, who cooks.
It's kind of amazing that we've made it this far. We're going to be fine. How can you be so sure? 'Cause we found ourselves in each other.
Well, this is actually a better way than how you usually spend your evenings-- dressing in leather and tying people up.
You did it to give the city something that the Green Arrow can't give them-- Hope. Inspiration. Don't lose sight of that.
Oliver... We have a life together. Right? We're a team. Ow. If something is bothering you and I don't know about it, I can't help you fix it. I can't be a good teammate. I love you, and that makes me want to be the best teammate ever. Not in a Lance Armstrong performance enhancing drugs kind of way. More like...More positive sports analogy I would use if I knew anything about sports.
Hey! Hey! Hey. Hey. What's going on? I don't know. Is it Darhk? In as much as he's the reason that Laurel and Thea showed up on our doorstep 3 months ago right before you were going to propose. And before you say anything, you should know that my mom found the ring in the decorations box. It's not what you think. That depends on whether or not you think that I think that you were gonna propose and then that you changed your mind. I didn't change my mind. Well, something changed. Everything changed. Where we live, what we do, who we are. We... I was gonna propose. But then we came back to Star City and I just needed some time to rethink things. Because you thought I wasn't gonna say yes? No, because what we're doing is dangerous. And I-- But I chose this life and I chose you. And I don't understand why we can't have both.
Please don't tell me that you traded your life for ours, because that would be extremely old Oliver. I had to turn myself in. It was the only way to know where you were being held. One little problem. Two if you think that Darhk is gonna keep up his end of the bargain. But what happens when the calvary shows up and the Green Arrow's not present? Darhk is evil, not stupid. I have that handled, Felicity. It had to be this way. Why? 'Cause you think that we're in this situation because of your decisions? Look, I really hate to be the one to break this to you, Oliver, but you are not the boss of me. And I am the one who decides whether I need anyone's protection. Back at the Christmas party from hell, you said you were gonna propose and you didn't because you weren't sure our relationship could survive this kind of life. It was a holiday party. And I had more to say, but we were attacked. And here we are, fighting. Fighting our way through the danger instead of running away from it. Isn't that the whole point of marriage, to get through the hard times because we are together, not in spite of it? Yeah. Just so you know, if you would have asked me, I would have said yes.
You’re coming with me.
There is one person in particular that I am grateful for. Someone that has stood beside me when times were darkest. She is the one who lights my way. Felicity Smoak, would you make me the happiest man on the face of the earth?
Hey, stranger. Sorry I didn't... come by sooner. It's... It's unforgivable. Only if you were in Bali or something. Were you in Bali? No, I was, uh... Beating the streets. Probably a lot of people looking for Darhk. I didn't want to come and see you until Darhk was off the board. Any luck? Working some leads. Tell me you haven't gone off the rails. Well... I just... I can't help but think that... The reason that Darhk is winning is because I haven't been willing to go far enough and that if I was, if I had, maybe you wouldn't be in here right now. And I don't know what the point... of what I'm doing as Green Arrow is if I can't protect the people that are closest to me. Well, what's the point of doing it if you lose yourself in the process? Yeah. There's something else we need to talk about. The doctors... They say that I'm, uh... I know. My point being is we didn't really exchange any vows, so the whole for better, for worse thing doesn't really apply here. What are you talking about? And maybe the real reason you haven't been here is because-- Felicity. The nurse, she took this off of you in the E.R. How dare she. For better, for worse.
You know, we go out every night... Suiting up, risking our lives, fighting assassins and meta-humans and all the worst kinds of people. She's stronger than all of us.
How you feeling? How long you been sitting there? Not long enough. Sorry I went away. I think you apologized already. Nowhere near done apologizing. You know... I think I want to go to Bali. Want to come with me? Yeah. I'd go anywhere with you. Yeah? Just one question. Mm-hmm? What's Damian Darhk doing in Bali? I only ask, 'cause if he's still here, we have some work to do. How'd you get to be so strong? I took my lead from you.
Just be careful. Slow down, slow down. Careful, careful, careful. Do you want me to be careful? Oh, this is more Oliver 2.0, isn't it? You think being cute is gonna distract me? Mission accomplished. You don't have to wait on me hand and foot, though I wouldn't say no to a blanket. The doctor says stick with the two tablets to keep with your current pain management regimen. You know, I really appreciate what you're doing, but you have a city to save, a mayoral campaign, a freaky superbad who can move things with his mind. None of which are nearly as important as your recovery. Thank you. I think the people in the city that Darhk wants to destroy might disagree. Well, those people should know that I stand no chance of stopping Damien Darhk without your help. Well, you might have to. I have a spinal cord injury. I might never make a full recovery ever. That is worst case scenario, and either way, you are still a vital member of the team. Your superpower is right there. Maybe my new code name could be Hot Wheels. Keep pitching on that. All jokes aside, like you said, what I do bring to the team is my mind, and there's a lot on it. So talk to me. I just don't think I'm ready to come back yet, and the last thing you need in a life-or-limb situation is me. Wow. We are going to agree to disagree on that one for the moment. What's going on? John and Lyla were attacked. Oh, my God! Are they ok? John was shot. It was a flesh wound. I should go see them. We should go see them. Nice try. Dinner is in the fridge. Reheat in the oven at 425 degrees. I love you. I love you, too.
Well, I was at home, feeling more self-pity than I have in my entire life when it hit me. This is who I am. I wanted to come along on your awesome superhero adventure because I wanted to help people, and the old me was so angry at the world, but that anger never accomplished anything. It just created more anger and some seriously bad personal style choices. I wanted to do some good in the world. Hmm. Ow. That was a good speech. I thought you'd be a little more impressed. It was a good speech, but-- But--how did it go again? If I know you-- and I do-- you're probably thinking what happened was your fault. I'm here to tell you that it's not and that it's not mine either. It's the fault of only one man, and he has an extremely on-the-nose and alliterative name. And we're going to stop him, not out of guilt or vengeance, or regret. We are going to stop him because it's what we do. That's who we are. That was a good speech. I'm very happy to hear it.
Overwatch, we're on site. Excuse me? Well, I thought that it was time you got a code name. What do you think? It's perfect.
I thought we were totally unpacked. Just humor me. What am I getting? Ah, yes. The white box. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Ahh. You ready? Wow! When you said that you made some bad personal style choices, you weren't kidding. This is the old me, a rebellious brunette hacker who didn't listen to anyone else's rules but her own. You're not that person anymore? Nope. What you did last night was amazing. I was really badass. Though the old me probably would have stolen the plans for Rubicon and released them as some sort of political statement. The old me would have snapped Joyner's neck. We've both grown. Thank you for always being on my side. No place I'd rather be. Hand me that garbage can and this lighter. How much medication are you on? Absolutely none. Just want to make sure that my past stays the past, you know? One more thing from me. The doctor said your condition is permanent, and I don't think that it's healthy or productive for either of us to live in denial, but... I have seen people speed and shrink and fly. We watched a friend of ours come back from the dead. That is the world we live in now... And I will not stop searching it until we find a way to make you walk again.
Hey. You feeling any better? I don't even know why I'm so upset. Doesn't every long-awaited father-daughter reunion end with the dad being taken away in handcuffs. You don't have to be funny for me. You know that, right? I know. And I know I did the right thing, but... The look on his face when he realized I had turned him in, it's gonna haunt me for the rest of my life, and I can't help but think he doesn't even deserve that kind of remorse. I think that remorse is a pretty clear indicator that you are a very different person than him. Maybe Thea and I could make T-shirts. We could join a club. Listen to me. Don't make the mistake of thinking that this thing with your dad is over. I can tell you from experience that closure does not come that easily. Speaking of closure, are you punishing yourself for betraying Malcolm? Is that insane? Yes, but it's part of what makes you the man I love. John was right. You were faced with an impossible situation, and you found the best way out of it. Will you marry me? I think I already answered that question. Thea's better, Andy's better, things are quiet on the Darhk front. I feel like this might be our window, and with everything that we have gone through over the past few months, I want you to tell me why are we waiting? Well, we'll have to plan it. Maybe just a small ceremony with a few of our friends and no caterers. My mom will hate that. I'm in.
Felicity... before I met you, I had a plan. I had a way that I was gonna be. But then you walked into my life. Or, I--I...showed up at your cubicle and... you changed everything. I was in darkness. But with your kindness, your generosity, your compassion, your intelligence, your wit, and your trust... you brought me into the light. You let me know... that I deserved it. You were that light. And I don't know if I still deserve that trust... if I deserve you. I probably don't. But whatever has happened, whatever will happen, the way that you make me feel is the best part of my life. You can ask me to say that I don't love you... that I will never lie to you again. You are my always. And I just want the chance to be yours.
You thought I was leaving, too? Not a chance.
