Elwyn Lavellan

He definitely wasn't the best candidate for Inquisitor, but he was the one who stepped up. Elwyn had little idea of how to lead an organisation that big, but the Inquisition showed him that he had capabilities beyond what he knew. Every follower who called him stupid or silly were still deeply loyal to their Inquisitor, a leader for the people.

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

Pallas Surana - The first inspiration behind her was a phoenix, a symbol for life springing from death which is the main theme of the game. Pallas is named after the Greek goddess Pallas Athena, the first name being one Athena took in guilt after accidentally killing her friend Pallas (Pallas Surana also unwillingly betrays her own close friend Jowan at the beginning of the game and lives with the guilt of that). Pallas means wisdom, something I wanted her to gain over her adventures.

Carlyle Hawke - The first inspiration was her name, Carlyle, meaning "walled city." I knew only about the walled city setting of Dragon Age 2 before playing it, so I named her accordingly, but I also used it as a reminder that she feels trapped inside the walls and wants freedom from them. I also wanted to make her a blood mage to tie into the blood smear on the default design and also tie into the carnivorous nature of a hawk.

Aravena Lavellan - Since she was a First, I based her on two Firsts already in the game, Velanna and Merrill. From Velanna, I took the elven goddess of her tattoo, the goddess of guidance and navigation, and also the arc of realizing the present and future are just as important as the past. From Merrill, I took an unwavering sense of duty to her clan and devotion to preserving history. I also based her aesthetic off of the Halla, the white deer-like creatures important to the elves and which tie in so closely to my elven goddess of choice.

👑 CROWN - what does your oc want to be remembered as? why?

Pallas Surana - While she once had grandiose dreams of titles and heroism, Pallas no longer cares what she's remembered as by anyone outside her circle of friends. She's a hero to her country, but her loyalties lie only with the people who helped her save it. As long as they're alive and well, that's all she needs.

Carlyle Hawke - She wants to be remembered as a protector, someone who fought for the freedom of mages even at the expense of her own nobility. If that brings dishonor to what remains of the Amell name, then so be it. She doesn't mind Varric's exaggerated stories about her, as long as they contain an essence of truth. She figures mages need more heroes to spite the Chantry, no matter how they get it.

Aravena Lavellan - This is the question that plagues Aravena the most. She has been claimed as a holy prophet for a religious order that has done nothing but hurt her people, and while she wants to denounce the claim, she also is afraid doing so will hurt her only chance to help her people too. She wants to be remembered for what she is - an elf, a mage, a First to Clan Lavellan working tirelessly to restore elven lore - and is terrified she'll end up instead like Ameridan, another elven mage who became a faceless footnote in Chantry history. A Keeper's place is to remember, and she doesn't want to forget or to be forgotten.
