Status Quo

PadVix; Poly!Marauders + Lily x Animagus!Reader feat. Baby Harry!
Summary: Early mornings and the Status Quo of the Marauder's house hold. {THIS FANFICTION IS INSPIRED- no, actually, basically a tribute to @/ellecdc's PadVix fanfiction. I would be amazed you are reading any of my stuff and not having read theirs but the link is here if you need it.
WC: 2.2k
CW: Reader is a fox Animagus, reader is unhinged, {a more serious one: animals in baby cribs} let me know if I missed anything!
The early morning peace of the bedroom was shattered by a loud, sharp yip.
Remus’s eyes fluttered open, his brow furrowing as he tried to shake off the haze of sleep. For a moment, he thought he’d imagined it- some strange remnant of a dream. But then it came again, louder this time, accompanied by the unmistakable sound of tiny paws skittering across the floorboards downstairs.
He groaned softly, his head falling back against the pillow.
“Not again,” he muttered, his voice rough from sleep.
Lily stirred in his arms, her fingers clutching the front of his shirt as she mumbled something incoherent. Her fiery hair was a mess, spread out over his chest and pillow like a halo, and she showed no sign of waking fully.
Behind him, James snorted in his sleep, his leg draped greedily over Remus’s hip as he murmured something about Quidditch plays. His snores were loud and steady, oblivious to the commotion.
But Remus was wide awake now, his keen ears picking up the unmistakable sounds of chaos downstairs. The fox-like yips grew more frantic, followed by a deep bark and what sounded suspiciously like furniture being knocked over.
“Oh, for Merlin’s sake,” he sighed, carefully untangling himself from Lily’s hold. Her hand slipped from his shirt with a soft grumble, and she rolled over, cuddling into the empty warmth he left behind.
James mumbled something unintelligible, his arm tightening briefly around Remus’s waist before letting go as he rolled onto his back, his snoring resuming almost instantly.
Remus sat up, running a hand through his hair as another loud crash echoed from below. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips despite himself.
“Padfoot,” He muttered under his breath, already knowing exactly who was responsible for the chaos. Shuffling out of the room, as quietly as possible as to not wake his abandoned snuggle partners.
By the time Remus reached the living room, he was greeted with a scene of pure bedlam.
Vix, or rather you, were darting around the room like a bolt of lightning, your little paws skidding across the floor as you yipped and squealed in pure unearned engery. Your fur was ruffled and wild, as though you’d already been caught once but managed to escape.
And there was Padfoot, still half-asleep, stumbling after you. He was enormous in the small space, his paws sliding on the floor as he tried to keep up with your frantic zig-zagging.
Padfoot suddenly barked in false triumph as he lunged forward, his teeth snapping just inches away from your tail.
But you were too quick. With a clever twist, you darted under the coffee table, your sharp little bark echoing triumphantly as you narrowly avoided capture.
Padfoot let out a low growl of frustration, his massive frame bumping into the sofa and nearly toppling a stack of books as he tried to maneuver.
Remus crossed his arms, leaning against the doorframe as he watched the spectacle unfold. “Do you two ever stop?” He drawled, his voice laced with amusement.
You skidded to a halt at the sound of his voice, your form turning to look at him with wide, mischievous eyes. For a moment, you looked almost innocent, your head tilting as if to say, Who, me?
Padfoot, however, took the opportunity to strike. With a victorious bark, he lunged forward, his massive jaws gently closing around the scruff of your neck.
You let out an indignant yelp, your little legs kicking as he lifted you off the ground like a wayward pup.
Remus stepped closer, suppressing a grin as Padfoot proudly presented his "catch," holding you aloft like a prize. Your little legs dangled helplessly, and your fur was all ruffled from the commotion.
"Well done, Padfoot," Remus drawled, his tone light and teasing. "You've finally managed to catch the uncatchable Vix. Congratulations on winning this morning.”
Padfoot wagged his tail enthusiastically, his chest puffing out as if to say, Of course I did. He gently deposited you onto the couch, nudging your small fox form with his nose, as if waiting for you to admit defeat.
But instead of surrendering, you went completely limp.
Your head lolled dramatically to the side, your legs flopping over the edge of the cushion as if every bone in your body had vanished. For a moment, neither Padfoot nor Remus moved, both staring at you in stunned silence.
"Vix?" Remus asked cautiously, leaning down to inspect you.
Padfoot nudged you again, this time a little harder, letting out a concerned whine.
Then, suddenly, your head shot back with a sharp, deliberate motion, and the sound that followed was unlike anything Remus had ever heard. A high-pitched, manic fox laugh erupted from your tiny body, the sound ricocheting off the walls and echoing through the room like some kind of unhinged woodland cackle.
Padfoot stumbled back with a startled yelp, his large paws slipping on the floor as he nearly crashed into the coffee table. Remus took a startled step back as well, blinking at you in disbelief.
Your fox form was now rolling on the couch, your small body shaking with uncontrollable laughter. The sheer absurdity of your antics left the room in a state of stunned silence for a moment before Remus finally let out a low chuckle.
"Merlin's beard," he muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose, though he couldn’t hide the smile tugging at his lips. "You’re absolutely mad, you know that?"
Padfoot, meanwhile, recovered quickly from his initial shock. His tail wagged furiously as he let out a loud bark, lunging toward you once more.
You squealed, darting off the couch in a flash of fur, your manic laughter trailing behind you as Padfoot gave chase once again.
Remus sighed, dragging a hand down his face. "I should’ve stayed in bed," he muttered under his breath, though his smile betrayed him.
The sharp clatter of your tiny paws against the wooden floor echoed through the house as you darted toward the staircase, your manic fox laughter still trailing behind you. Padfoot was hot on your tail, his massive paws skidding and sliding as he tried to keep up, his bark reverberating off the walls.
Remus stood frozen for a moment, running a hand down his face and letting out a resigned sigh. “This is going to end badly,” he muttered to no one in particular before following the chaos upstairs.
By the time he reached the bedroom, the scene before him was somehow even more ridiculous than he had anticipated.
You had leapt onto the bed with all the grace of a creature too smug for their own good, skittering across the covers and making a direct beeline for Lily. With practiced ease, you slithered your small, warm body into her arms, curling against her like it was your place. As if you hadn't stolen both Lily and sleep from his grasp moments ago.
Lily stirred slightly, blinking blearily at the sudden weight. Her eyes softened with confusion as she registered your furry form snuggling into her chest, your sharp little nose nudging at her hand until she instinctively began scratching behind your ears.
“This again…” She murmured, her voice thick with sleep.
Before she could fully process the scene, Padfoot barreled into the room, his large, clumsy frame nearly toppling over in his haste. He scrambled onto the bed with far less grace, the mattress creaking in protest under his weight as he pawed at the blankets, trying to reach you.
You let out a delighted squeal, burrowing further into Lily’s embrace and tucking your face against her neck as if to hide from your pursuer.
“Padfoot, for Merlin’s sake,” Remus groaned, his voice heavy with exasperation as he leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed. “You’re going to break the bed.”
James groaned from his place behind Sirius, finally waking at the commotion. “What’s going on?” he grumbled, his voice muffled by the pillow.
Padfoot let out a low, frustrated bark, his nose nudging at the blanket you’d disappeared under.
“Stop it, you overgrown pup,” Lily said softly, her free hand shoving Padfoot’s head away gently. “She’s with me now.”
Remus stifled a laugh as Padfoot huffed indignantly, his dark eyes narrowing at you as if to say, Coward.
You peeked out from the safety of Lily’s arms, your bright eyes locking with Padfoot’s. With a playful yip, you flicked your tail, as if daring him to try again.
Padfoot barked loudly in response, but Lily pulled the blanket up, covering you protectively. “Enough, Pads,” she scolded, though her lips twitched with a fond smile. “Let her be.”
With an exaggerated groan, Padfoot flopped onto the bed, his massive head resting on Lily’s leg as he glared at you sulkily.
James finally lifted his head, squinting at the scene before him. “What… why is there a fox in our bed?”
“It’s them, James,” Remus said, his tone flat but amused.
James blinked, staring at your curled-up form nestled against Lily. Then, with a groggy laugh, he flopped back onto the pillow. “Of course it is.”
Remus shook his head, climbing back into bed and lying beside James, who threw a lazy arm over him. Padfoot remained sprawled at the foot of the bed, his tail wagging softly despite his dramatic display of defeat.
Lily looked down at you with a sleepy smile, her fingers gently stroking your fur. “You’re trouble,” she murmured, her voice warm with affection.
The soft rise and fall of breaths filled the room as the warmth of the bed lulled everyone back into sleep. Lily’s fingers remained tangled in your fur, absentmindedly stroking as she drifted off, her hold on you loosening. James and Remus had already gone still, their steady heartbeats a quiet lullaby against the morning hush. Even Padfoot had settled, his large form sprawled at the foot of the bed, though one of his ears twitched ever so slightly- perhaps in protest, or perhaps in stubbornness.
You soaked in the comfort of it all, letting your small fox body relax into Lily’s hold, your eyes slipping shut.
But then- you heard it.
A soft gurgle.
It was faint, barely there, but your ears twitched at the sound, your body tensing slightly. Across from you, Padfoot stirred as well, his large, dark eyes cracking open. He had heard it too.
Another gurgle. A quiet coo. The unmistakable sound of a baby stirring just before waking.
You and Padfoot locked eyes.
Without a word- or a sound- the two of you moved in perfect sync, slinking out of bed with practiced ease. You carefully wriggled free from Lily’s grasp, ensuring she didn’t stir as you slipped from her arms and onto the floor. Padfoot followed, stepping lightly, his massive paws barely making a sound as he padded behind you.
The house was still quiet as the two of you made your way down the hall, your small form slipping ahead while Padfoot trailed just behind, his nose twitching at the air.
When you reached Harry’s nursery, the faint glow of morning light filtered through the curtains, bathing the crib in a soft golden hue. Inside, Harry wiggled beneath the blankets, his tiny fists waving lazily in the air, his little mouth forming sleepy coos as he blinked up at the enchanted mobile above him.
You leapt up with ease, landing gracefully inside the crib, making sure not to jostle him too much. Harry let out a quiet noise of curiosity, his green eyes shifting to you as his tiny fingers reached for your tail. You swished it slowly, letting it drape gently over him, covering him like an extra layer of warmth. He made a happy little noise, his hands curling into the soft fur, holding onto it like a beloved plush.
Padfoot, meanwhile, pressed his nose between the crib’s bars, his massive head barely fitting. He let out a slow, warm huff, watching as Harry’s tiny fingers tugged lightly at your tail, his chubby legs kicking under the covers.
You flicked an ear at Padfoot, as if to say, All clear. We’ve got him.
Padfoot let out a deep, satisfied exhale, shifting so he could rest his chin between the bars, his dark eyes still fixed on the baby. His tail gave a slow, lazy wag, his entire presence exuding warmth and protection.
Harry let out another small gurgle, his bright eyes blinking sleepily. His tiny fingers unfurled from your tail, his movements growing sluggish as he sank back into his blankets. You curled around him, your small fox body fitting perfectly against his side, your tail still draped over him like a shield. His little chest rose and fell in even breaths, his hands tucked beneath his cheek as he finally drifted back to sleep.
Padfoot let out another quiet breath, something soft and fond settling in his eyes. He adjusted his weight, still watching as if standing guard. The two of you remained like that- silent, steady, unwavering.
The house remained still. No one stirred.
You and Padfoot exchanged a final glance before settling in for your silent, shared duty.
Baby-watching duty had officially begun.
Repenting for earlier sins.

Sirius Black(if you don't mind) or Aaron Hotchner with a new girl that has a cochlear implant. At some point it could be damaged and they learned sign to surprise her!
Please and thank you!!
Okay wait, this is adorable. I'm kinda feeling it with Sirius Black! He's normally super jokey with reader about it because he knows it makes you feel better, like you don't have a disability. However, he notices something up one morning when you're in the common room in tears trying to fix the stupid muggle hearing device that just won't work. She can be a muggle born Witch with hearing issues that magic couldn't fix or something along those lines? Ahh cute!
Also, just a heads up for everyone my summer class for grad school is starting up so I'll be posting alot slower than I'd like :( I love all your requests I've just got a big backlog rn that I'm slowly working through!!

Love, Actually
⇨james potter x f!reader
⇨summary: Everyone knows James Potter is hopelessly in love with Y/N. So when he suddenly starts mooning over another girl, the entire school is left confused—including Y/N, who isn’t the type to sit around and cry. She's loud, proud, and absolutely not affected. Until she is.
⇨warnings/notes: stubborn!reader, outspoken!reader, use of y/n, cheeessyyy, fluffy ending, light angst, swearing, emotional angst, mutual pining, jealousy, protective Marauders, happy ending
word count: 1.6k

It starts with confusion.
James Potter has loved Y/N since third year. That’s not an exaggeration, it’s Hogwarts common knowledge. Professors are in on it. First-years whisper about it. There are unofficial bets in three different Houses about when he’ll finally make a move.
So when he shows up at breakfast grinning like a fool and sits beside Eleanor Buckerfield instead of Y/N—everyone pauses.
Then he leans into Eleanor's side and says, “Has anyone ever told you your eyes shine like the color of a summer meadow?”
Sirius chokes on his pumpkin juice.
Peter looks up. "What the bloody hell even is that compliment?"
Remus stares.
Y/N freezes, toast halfway to her mouth.
“What the actual fuck,” she mutters.
“Must’ve bumped his head on a Bludger,” Marlene says under her breath, glaring across the table.
“No,” Lily whispers. “Look at his pupils. Too dilated. Something’s off.”
“Obviously,” Y/N snaps, standing up and throwing her bag over her shoulder like nothing’s wrong. “Potter’s just being a fucking idiot again. What else is new?”
She doesn’t storm off. She walks like she could, but she won’t give anyone the satisfaction.
Not even him.
The worst part? He keeps it up.
All day.
Charms, Herbology, dinner. James follows Eleanor like he’s under a trance. He carries her books. Laughs at her jokes. Brings her a carnation from the greenhouse and tells her, “It matches your lips.”
Y/N doesn’t care. Of course she doesn’t.
She definetly does not want to bang her head into a wall or jump to the black lake.
In fact, it’s not like she ever liked James.
Sure, she used to laugh at his dumb Quidditch metaphors and ruffle his hair when he was pouting and take care of him when he's sick and know his favorite flavor of the Bertie Bott's beans ( Tutti-Frutti ) so whenever Sirius bought some she'd always set them apart for James and pretend not to notice how he stared at her when she wasn’t looking—but that meant nothing.
So when Lily gently says, “Are you okay?” that night in the dorm, Y/N just scoffs.
“Obviously I’m okay. Why wouldn’t I be? He can fall in love with whoever he wants. It’s not like I ever gave a cared.”
Dorcas raises an eyebrow. “You just crushed your quill.”
“It was old anyway.”
“You stabbed it clean through the Transfiguration schedule.”
“It was an ugly schedule.”
In the corridor the next day, James walks by with Eleanor, hand in hand.
Y/N doesn’t flinch. Doesn’t blink. Doesn’t say a word.
Just turns to Sirius and says, “That’s not James.”
Sirius frowns. “You think it’s Polyjuice?”
“No,” she says. “It’s him. But it’s not him. You know?”
And Sirius, who knows James better than anyone, nods slowly. “Yeah. I do.”
By Thursday, it’s not funny anymore.
James is paler. Slower. His laugh sounds forced. His eyes are always red-rimmed like he hasn’t slept.
And Eleanor? She’s smug. Too smug. Her hand never leaves his arm.
At dinner, he tries to feed her strawberries.
She giggles.
Y/N drops her spoon.
The clatter is deafening.
James doesn’t look up.
“He’s sick,” Lily says later that night. “You saw the way he stumbled. He didn’t even finish his dessert.”
Marlene nods. “Probably a love potion. But it’s too strong. It’s eating him alive.”
Y/N is silent.
Then: “How do you break a love potion?”
Dorcas looks up. “Depends on the spell. Some wear off. Some need antidotes. The powerful ones?”
She pauses.
“True love’s kiss.”
Y/N rolls her eyes so hard it could crack glass. “Absolutely not.”
“Why not?” Lily pushes.
“Because I’m not the protagonist in a cheesy romance, Lils. He can rot.”
But she doesn’t sleep that night.
The next morning, James faints in the courtyard.
He hits the cobblestone hard, face ashen, lips cracked. Eleanor shrieks and drops him like a sack of potatoes.
Madam Pomfrey is summoned. She takes one look and says, “Someone’s cursed this boy.”
Up at the top of the stone staircase, Y/N stands frozen.
Then she sees Eleanor's—arms crossed, trying too hard to feign shock.
And Y/N snaps.
She storms down the steps, fury radiating off her like wildfire. Her wand is already in her hand before anyone can blink, Peter tries to stop her, but Sirius holds him back. "I've been waiting for this one."
“You,” she hisses.
Eleanor turns, smug until she sees the look in Y/N’s eyes.
“I didn’t— I don’t know what happened—”
“Cut the bullshit.” Y/N’s voice is low, dangerous. “You spiked him. You put him under something, and now he’s dying, you stupid cow.”
“I didn’t mean—he liked me—!”
“No. He never liked you. He barely tolerated you. He’s been in love with me since third year, and everyone knows it—except your delusional ass.”
Eleanor pulls out her wand.
"Talk about delusional, you're just mad little Jamie got over you."
Y/N raises her wand.
“Expelliarmus!”
Eleanor's wand flies out of her robe.
“Petrificus Totalus!”
Eleanor stiffens mid-stammer and crashes backward into a bush, frozen.
There’s a beat of silence.
Someone claps.
Sirius mutters, “Hot.”
Remus elbows him.
"She ate that up, to be honest" Marlene said, whispering to Lily who nodded.
Y/N doesn’t wait. She throws her wand back in her pocket and bolts toward the Hospital Wing.
The Hospital Wing smells like mint and moonflower and antiseptic.
Y/N’s hands are cold as she sits beside James, who hasn’t stirred. His skin is too pale. His lips have lost that familiar flush, and his curls—usually a mess of warmth and chaos—are limp against the white pillowcase.
Madam Pomfrey had said the curse needed to be broken willingly. That something true, something pure, had to reach him through the fog.
But Y/N’s not thinking about that.
She leans down.
"James," she whispers. "C’mon. This is ridiculous."
She places a hand on his chest. Feels the irregular thump of his heart.
“You were mine first. Do you hear me? Mine. I’m the one who made you laugh in Potions and the one who goes to your parent's house every christmas break, helping your mother bake cookies—me.”
He doesn’t move.
She swallows. Her voice breaks. “You don’t get to leave me. Not like this. Not when we’ve spent years dancing around this thing like idiots.”
Still nothing.
And then—
It’s not desperate.
It’s gentle. Affectionate
Her lips brush against his like a promise kept, broken. Like she’s daring him to come back to her.
Like she’s always known he would.
It’s not a grand kiss. Not the stuff of legends.
It’s soft.
Warm.
Honest.
Like home.
For a breath, everything is still.
And James gasps.
Eyes flying open.
He stares at her.
“Y/N?”
She slaps him.
Then she hugs him so tight his ribs might crack.
“You absolute dimwit,” she breathes into his shoulder. “Don’t you ever scare me like that again.”
His voice is hoarse. “You were jealous.”
“I was concerned.”
“You kissed me.”
“You were dying.”
“You slapped me.”
“I did not?”
"Oh, that must've been Eleanor then."
"She did what? Does she really want to be hexed again?" You picked up your wand.
"M' just kidding, love. Wait. You hexed her?"
You smile sheepishly. "Maybe."
“I—bloody hell, I think I’m in love with you,” he mumbles, dazed.
Y/N grins, smug as ever, and presses her forehead to his. “Yeah,” she whispers. “I know.”
Meanwhile, in the staffroom…
Professor McGonagall slides a galleon into Professor Sprout’s palm.
Slughorn hums. “Told you the kiss would break it.”
Filius chuckles. “I bed she'd deck him or hex someone. I stand vindicated.”
Binns floats by. “They remind me of a young couple in 1642…”
Everyone ignores him.
Dumbledore walks in, eyebrows raised with amusement. “She hexed Eleanor.”
There’s a beat of silence.
Slughorn beams. “Brilliant, that one.”
Sprout nods thoughtfully. “That spellwork showed real control.”
Filius whistles low. “She managed a silent hex under that much emotional strain? Impressive.”
McGonagall smirks into her tea. “And with excellent aim, I might add.”
Sprout leans forward. “Next wager—when do they finally shag?”
McGonagall sputters mid-sip. “Pomona!”
Slughorn claps. “Put me down for next Hogsmeade weekend.”
Dumbledore smiles, eyes twinkling. “Ah, young love.”
Back in the dorm later that night:
“She kissed him,” Dorcas hisses, dramatically flopping onto her bed like it's breaking news while you laugh.
“Aw, he's like a puppy,” Marlene says through a yawn, “an over-excited one that just found its favorite toy.”
Lily sighs dreamily, arms tucked behind her head. “I’m just glad they finally stopped being so bloody oblivious.”
Dorcas rolls her eyes. “True love’s kiss. Classic.”
Marlene perks up. “And did you hear what Flitwick said on the way out of the Hospital Wing? ‘Pay up, Minerva. I told you she’d crack first.’”
Marlene snorts, then cackles. “I love this school. They should just shag already.”
From the hallway:
“I HEARD THAT!” James’s voice echoes from beyond the dormitory door.
Lily doesn’t even blink. “Good! Tell Y/N to kiss you again so we can start round two!”
Y/N, sitting on the edge of her bed, wrapped in a blanket and holding a mug of cocoa, freezes.
“What?! We’re just—best friends!” she says, way too quickly.
Three heads snap toward her in unison.
Dorcas raises an eyebrow. “You're a dumbass.”
Lily snorts. “You kissed him and hexed a girl for flirting with him.”
Marlene, deadpan: “You called him ‘love.’”
Y/N blinks. “Okay… but like… in a platonic way?”
Dorcas throws a pillow at her. “You’re the spell that needs breaking.”
Marlene leans over, whispering to Lily: “Five sickles says she’ll kiss him again before Friday.”
From the hallway, again:
“MAKE IT TWO!” James yells.
Y/N groans into her cocoa. “I hate all of you.”
Lily just smiles. “No, you don’t. You’re in love.”

𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞
── sirius black x f!reader

summary: “You know what's funny?" His voice is low, drawling, like a secret whispered against your wrist. "What?" Your own voice trembles. "I swear my plan was just to make you sleep." His teeth graze your skin lightly. "But you're not helping, doll."
warnings: language, est. relationship, suggestive, love bites, no use of y/n, the marauders' reaction when they saw that you spent the night in the boys' dormitory.
a/n: sirius' m.list is my oldest draft (from early december), but only now have I dared to do something with it, I hope it didn't turn out too bad <33
Your footsteps on the stone staircase barely make a sound as you climb toward the boys' dormitories in Gryffindor Tower. The castle is drowned in the silence of the early hours, and the only light illuminating your path comes from the weakly dancing flames in the common room fireplace far below.
You've been here before. Many times. The path to him is as familiar as Sirius himself.
Reaching the top of the staircase, you push the door open slowly, slipping into the dark room. The air is thick with the dormitory’s woody scent and something unmistakably his—a mix of leather, smoke, and Sirius.
The other boys sleep deeply, their steady breathing filling the space. But your gaze is drawn to the bed at the far end, where crimson curtains are partially parted, revealing a cascade of black hair spread across the pillow.
Sirius lies on his side, one hand tucked under his face, his breathing slow and deep. The moonlight slipping through the window cracks casts a silver glow over him, highlighting the sharp angles of his face, the soft shadows beneath his closed eyes, the dark hue of his long lashes against his pale skin.
You move closer, soundless, kneeling beside his bed. Your heart pounds in your chest as you lightly trace your fingers over his arm, the tip of your nail grazing the warmth of his skin.
"Sirius..." your voice is barely a whisper.
He stirs, frowning slightly before his eyes slowly flutter open. Sleep-clouded gray meets yours, and a shadow of a smile tugs at his lips.
"Ah," his voice, rough and drowsy, slides through the silence like a secret. "So my imagination has finally materialized into flesh and bone?"
His lazy, slightly teasing tone sends warmth flooding through your chest. You smile softly. "If you're dreaming of me, then your imagination is terribly dull."
Sirius lets out a short chuckle, rolling onto his back and stretching an arm toward you. "Since you're already here, come on."
You don’t hesitate. The bed creaks slightly as you slide in, molding yourself against the warmth of his body. Sirius shifts to make space, pulling the curtains closed around you both with a lazy flick of his wand before murmuring a silencing charm. The world outside disappears.
His arms wrap around you, pulling you against his bare chest. The heat of his skin is comforting, and you can feel the slow, drowsy rhythm of his heartbeat beneath your cheek.
"Couldn't sleep?" he asks, his lips brushing the top of your head.
You shake your head against him, feeling the movement of his smile before you even see it.
"Lucky me, then."
"Why?"
"Because now I have an excuse to do this." His fingers trail idly up your arm, skimming over your shoulder, your neck, until finally threading into your hair. He plays with the strands absentmindedly while his other arm tightens around your waist, as if making sure you won’t slip away.
You sigh, sinking further into him.
Sirius tilts his head, pressing his lips lightly to your forehead for a lingering moment, his breath warm against your skin before he murmurs:
"Want me to tell you a story?"
You lift your face to look at him. "Since when do you tell stories?"
He shrugs, a lazy glint in his eyes. "Since now. I have a very selective and highly demanding audience to entertain."
You laugh softly but nod. "I do."
Sirius thinks for a moment, his gray eyes lost in the shadows of the bed canopy. Then, in a deliberately dramatic tone, he begins:
"Once upon a time, there was a great hunter in the sky. He was strong, invincible, arrogant as hell, but handsome enough to make up for it—"
"This is about Orion, isn’t it?"
"Hey, who’s telling the story here?"
You smile, resting a hand on his chest. "Go on, then."
Sirius clears his throat theatrically. "As I was saying, Orion was a legendary hunter. But he was also a little impulsive—and pissed off powerful people, which, let’s be honest, is a familiar trait."
The implication in his tone doesn’t go unnoticed. You smile against his skin, feeling Sirius's muscles relax beneath your fingers.
"He boasted that he could defeat any beast on Earth," Sirius continues, lowering his voice to a deep whisper. "And the gods, being the bastards they are, didn’t like that. So they sent a scorpion to kill him. And just like that, the invincible hunter fell."
He pauses, his eyes locked onto yours.
"But the gods placed him in the sky," he finishes softly. "A bright constellation, never to be forgotten."
The silence between you is filled only by the sound of your soft breaths and the slow beat of Sirius’s heart under your palm.
"Tragic," you murmur.
Sirius smiles faintly. "All the best stories are."
You watch his face in the dark, the soft fall of his dark hair over his eyes, the strong line of his jaw softened by the dim light. He looks caught between two worlds—one where he is Sirius Black as everyone knows him, and another where it’s just you and the way he melts into you.
You touch his face lightly, letting your thumb graze the curve of his mouth. "If you were a constellation, which one would you be?"
His lips part slightly under your touch, something warm flickering in his gaze.
"If I could choose..." he murmurs, "any one that’s next to you in the sky."
Your heart clenches.
Sirius seems to notice, because he leans in and presses his lips to yours in a slow, lingering kiss, as if trying to trap the feeling of you here, as if trying to make this moment eternal.
And in a way, it is.
The kiss starts soft. The kind of kiss Sirius gives when he wants to savor, when he wants to feel. But there’s something about you—the way your fingers tangle in his hair, the way your body molds against his, the way your lips return to his without a shred of hesitation—that makes him lose his patience.
The sound he makes against your mouth is deep, almost a low, satisfied purr, and then the softness dissolves. His hands tighten on your waist before sliding up your back, pulling you closer. You feel the tension in his muscles beneath your fingers, his breath becoming more uneven against yours.
Sirius kisses like it’s hunger.
And you surrender.
You get carried away.
Your bodies fit together in an almost desperate way, his hands traveling up your neck, into your hair, his fingers firm against your skin, as if he wants to memorize you. He takes your mouth with more insistence now, deepening the kiss in a way that makes it hot, consuming.
When you let out a quiet moan against his lips, Sirius exhales an almost exasperated sigh and flips you over in one swift motion, pinning you beneath him. His weight is comfortable, warm, and you feel every inch of him against you.
Sirius' gray eyes gleam in the dark, intense, hungry. He leans down, brushing the tip of his nose along your jaw, trailing slowly down your neck, letting his breath warm your skin. A shiver runs through you.
"You know what's funny?" His voice is low, drawling, like a secret whispered against your wrist.
"What?" Your own voice trembles.
"I swear my plan was just to make you sleep." His teeth graze your skin lightly. "But you're not helping, doll."
The shiver rolls down your spine even before you feel the first bite.
Sirius presses his mouth to your neck, sucking slowly before biting—not hard enough to hurt, but enough that tomorrow, you’ll see the marks and remember exactly how they got there.
You cling to him, fingers digging into his bare back, feeling the satisfied chuckle he lets out against your collarbone before biting there too, as if he’s claiming you, leaving his signature on your skin.
You feel him smile against your shoulder before he trails his lips up to your jaw, then back to your mouth. The kiss now is slower, more deliberate, as if he’s savoring the effect he has on you.
Then, as abruptly as he started, Sirius stops.
His lips still brush against yours, but he doesn’t push forward. His breathing is fast, just like yours, and for a moment, he just looks at you, his gaze hazy, intense.
The silence between you is thick, full of everything that doesn’t need to be said.
Then, with a sigh, he lets out a low, husky laugh. "If I keep going, you’ll never sleep."
He doesn’t pull away completely, but you feel the weight of his restraint in his shoulders when he closes his eyes for a moment, controlling his breathing.
Your fingers touch his face, tracing the sharp line of his jaw, feeling the tension beneath his warm skin.
Sirius opens his eyes again, and there’s something so devastatingly intense in them that your heart clenches.
He gives you a faint smile, lips still a little swollen. "You’re killing me, you know that?"
You smile back, sliding your arms around his neck. "If it’s any consolation… we’re dying together."
Sirius lets out a short laugh, then kisses your forehead and pulls you against his chest.
"Now sleep, my love." His voice is low, laced with the sleep that’s finally catching up to him.
Sirius' body is a warm shelter against yours, his chest rising and falling steadily as he holds you tightly, but not trapping you. He lazily runs a hand up and down your back, tracing invisible patterns with his fingertips, the touch so tender it makes your heart ache.
"Breathe with me," he murmurs into your hair, his voice still thick with sleep.
You obey, inhaling when he does, exhaling in the same rhythm. His chest vibrates against you when he lets out a contented sigh, and then, in a tone so soft it feels meant just for you, Sirius starts to hum.
The melody is gentle, little more than a low, resonant hum against your ear. He doesn’t sing words, just lets the sound fill the space between you, as if he’s lulling you into a song only he knows.
And it works.
Your muscles slowly relax, your eyes grow heavy, and the last thing you feel before finally slipping into sleep is the warm press of Sirius' lips against your forehead.
Morning arrives lazily, with the sun filtering through the heavy curtains and spreading a golden glow across the room. You're still deeply asleep, nestled against Sirius' chest, while he rests his hand possessively on your back, his fingers lazily curled in the thin fabric of your blouse.
Sirius is awake, but he doesn’t move. He just stays there, watching the way your relaxed face looks even more beautiful in the soft light, the way your breath against his collarbone sends shivers down his skin.
He could stay like this all day.
Unfortunately, the world has other plans. The bed curtain is abruptly yanked aside.
"WHAT THE F—"
"Shhh! For Merlin's sake, James!"
Potter’s shout barely has time to echo through the room before it's interrupted by the urgent whispers of Remus. Sirius narrows his eyes, irritated.
"Fuck off, James, shut up," he grumbles, his voice still thick with sleep.
James raises his hands in surrender, but his eyes are still wide as he stares at the scene before him. Remus just rubs his face, exhausted before the day even begins.
Peter, who has just lifted his head from the pillow, gapes and immediately looks anywhere but at the two of you. "Merlin!" he murmurs, his skin flushing instantly.
Sirius, now burying his head against your neck, lets out a low chuckle. He moves just enough to pull the blanket over his body, not because he wants to hide the marks—he’s actually completely satisfied with how they look—but because he prefers no one else sees them.
James, standing at the foot of the bed with his glasses askew and a scandalized look on his face, points an accusing finger. "Those are marks, Sirius!"
Sirius rolls his eyes. "Do you really have to shout about it? Fuck, she’s still sleeping."
"It’s impressive! You were irresponsible!"
"I was passionate," Sirius corrects, a cheeky smile forming on his lips.
Remus, who’s seen worse, just lets out a sigh. "Can we at least pretend to be adults?"
Sirius shrugs, lazily looking at them before simply pulling you a little closer against him.
"You guys talk too much in the morning," he murmurs, his lips brushing the sensitive skin just below your ear.
James grimaces. "I’m going to puke."
"Then puke outside."
Peter makes a muffled sound, clearly too embarrassed to contribute to the conversation.
Remus, always practical, crosses his arms and watches Sirius with an unreadable look. "You’re a shameless dog."
Sirius grins—a lazy, insolent smile that clearly says no, he definitely isn’t ashamed.
"Guilty," he says, his voice drawling.
James shakes his head, frustrated. "Merlin, Black. Could you at least try to look sorry?"
Sirius just smiles more.
And then, in an absurdly possessive gesture, he lowers his face and places a lazy kiss on your exposed shoulder, as if wanting to make it clear to everyone that yes, the marks are his, and yes, he wears them proudly.
"Now, if you don’t mind," he says, pulling the blanket over both of you and closing his eyes again, "get out of here before I get even more graphic."
James lets out a horrified grunt.
Peter rushes to grab his things and leave.
Remus just sighs, clearly used to this.
And Sirius, satisfied with himself, settles back against you, completely ignoring the chaos he’s caused.

Pairing: James Potter x fem!reader
Summary: James Potter was charming, mischievous, captain of the quidditch team and very popular among the girls at Hogwarts. He had a certain talent for making his presence aware , a charisma that was unmatchable. You didn’t have many friends, no matter how hard you tried, people never seemed to acknowledge you. To put it quite plainly, you were the polar opposite of James. You spent years trying to push out and ignore any romantic feelings you had for him, because come on… there is no way he even knows you exist…. Right?
Warnings: Mild swearing and kissing/ making out.
Author’s Note: Hi my loves, this is part 1 of a mini series called- Gold rush. I will keep updating, as fast as I can. If you like my work, feel free to send in requests and leave comments 💌. Happy reading xx. Part 2 and Part 3 out now! (Comment to be added to the taglist)
The lively chatter of students filled the corridors. Golden light shone on the cold, aged walls. The air was heavy with the scent of old books, dust and a hint of magic. You made your way towards the dungeons, just in time for Potions class. You were fairly late; your usual spot was taken by another student. You scanned the classroom, looking for a vacant seat. Unfortunately, there was only one, at the very front of the class.
You settled in the empty seat, when you noticed the boy sitting next to you. His messy black hair was overgrown, and ruffled in a way that looked purposeful. His hazel eyes appeared large beneath his round glasses. James Potter was unreasonably attractive, that wasn’t a secret. You spent your first few years at Hogwarts trying to deny it, but it was of no use. You tried telling yourself his good looks didn’t make up for his arrogant and vexatious personality. He was insufferable.
You hated the way he paraded around the school, hands casually tucked in his pockets, increasing his voice by a few extra decibels whenever a pretty girl walked by. You hated the way he effortlessly drew attention to himself as soon as he walked into a room. And what you hated the most, was when he would catch your gaze lingering on him for a little too long.
“Good morning students. I will be assigning you your partners from now onwards. You will stick to these arrangements for the rest of the academic year.” Professor Slughorn announced, earning disappointed groans from the whole class.
“I have learned my lesson after the ‘incidents’ young Mr. Potter and Mr.Black have caused.” He continued, causing wide grins to spread across James and Sirius’ faces.
Slughorn spent most of the lesson reading out the pairs he had made. You were growing impatient, he hadn’t called out your name yet, maybe this was the perfect opportunity to finally make a new friend… and you know, make it last this time.
“Mr.Potter and Ms. Y/L/N” The professor called out.
You have got to be kidding me, you thought to yourself, a horrified look plastered across your face.
“Why that face, love? I don’t bite” James said turning towards you, then to Sirius and letting out a laugh.
You rolled your eyes and left class, saved by the bell.
The next day, you decided to spend your free time in the library and catch up on some homework. Immersed in your work, you almost didn’t notice the figure walking towards you.
“Feeling studious, are we?” James asked, placing his hands on the table and leaning forward.
“I was, until you came along.” You mumbled, mostly to yourself, as you stared packing your things up.
“Wait, where are you going?” James asked.
“I’m sorry, is there something in particular you want from me?” You snapped.
“You’re my new potions partner aren’t you? I thought we could study for the upcoming test together.” He said cooly.
“Right… well, I’m y/n.” You said, extending your hand.
“You’re kidding right?” James asked, with an almost offended expression.
“Why would I be kidding about my name?” You raised an eyebrow.
“Bloody hell… I know who you are y/n!” James exclaimed. “Third year, Defence against the dark arts, fourth year transfiguration and history of magic and fifth year, divination and astronomy. Those are all the classes we had together, do you not remember?” James continued.
“Oh- um… yea, I guess.” You said, dumbfounded. You remembered. You obviously remembered. How could you forget? But the real question was, how in Merlin’s Name did James freaking Potter know who you were? Did you hit your head and fall into an alternate reality, where you were one of the bimbos he noticed?
It had been a week since that unforeseen encounter with James. He would wink at you during meals or purposefully walk too close to you in the corridors, just enough for your shoulders to brush. He would pretend like he didn’t notice you, but you could feel his stare penetrate when you weren’t looking.
The following night, you woke up in a cold sweat. Your stomach was churning with nausea; it must have been the puking pasties a girl named Marlene gave you.
You were in desperate need of fresh air. Careful not to wake your dorm mates, you slipped out of bed, not caring that you’re in your pyjamas and decided to take a stroll around the castle. You had to be really cautious to not get caught, you didn’t want your house to loose points. You made your way to the dungeons, as it had a lovely view of the black lake.
“Light them up before Filch comes!” A voice whispered.
“What if the Slytherins wake up!” A shrill voice filled with fear added.
“Leave if you must , Pete! But do not ruin this for the rest of us.” You could recognise that voice anywhere.
You peaked your head from the corner of a wall, spotting James and his group of friends, ‘the marauders’, they called themselves. How cheesy. They were in-front of the Slytherin common room, with what seemed to be dung bombs and fire crackers in their hands.
‘Bloody hell. They’re mental.’ You thought to yourself.
“Shit! Run!” One of the voices shouted.
The crackers exploded, creating loud sounds and a strong pungent smell. From a distance, you could see Filch running towards the mess. Suddenly, you felt someone grab you from behind. Before you could shout, their hand covered your mouth. You turned your head to see James signalling you to be quiet. He pulled you into a hidden corner as Filch scoured the surroundings, looking for the culprits behind the mess.
He released his hand from your mouth.
“What the hell! What are you guys doing! Have you absolutely lost your minds??!!” You whisper shouted.
“Y/N Y/L/N, are you following me?To answer your question, no our minds are very much intact. Just a bit of sweet revenge on the Slytherins. Nothing special.” James smirked.
You noticed just how close the both of you were standing. You could feel his warm breath on your cheeks. You could see the soft curve of his lips and the slight flush in his cheeks. You could hear his heart racing.
He lifted his arm, gently brushing a strand of stray hair away from your face.
Whatever gap was there between the two of you, was closed by James. His lips crashed into yours with an intensity that set your skin on fire. His hands found their way to your waist, pulling you closer, as if he couldn’t get enough of you. You didn’t hesitate to kiss him back. All the years of pent up emotions you felt for James came rushing. He pulled away from the kiss to catch his breath, the overwhelming force left you reeling.
“Prongs! Prongs, where are you?” A voice hissed.
“Shit.” James said, through clenched teeth.
“Prongs?” You asked, smirking and raising an eyebrow.
“It’s Sirius. I’ve got to go. Will you be able to go back to your dorm on your own?” James questioned.
You nodded.
“Catch you later, y/n” He said, flashing you that famous James Potter smile.
That alone was enough to make your heart melt.

pairing: sirius black x reader
description: in which, you put charms in sirius' hair and confront certain traits of his.
tags: fluff! fem!reader, mmm pining, cuddling, totally platonic activities going on here, r is muggle-born hence the vet and dog anatomy knowledge, sirius is a puppy agenda, pretty women from the 70s mentioned (dont pay much attention to it), flirting.
a/n: staying true to my username with more sirius black. wanna play with his hair for days tbh. happy reading!
wc: 1.7k
“you don't know when to give up, do you?”
you raise your chin indignantly, “i'm stubborn.”
sirius fixes you with a withering glare, it doesn't pack much of a punch but you can tell he's stalling. he finally relents with a long sigh, ever the dramatic. you squeal, walking over to his bed with a little pouch that jingled as you moved. you nudge at his shoulders to lean against the headboard and set yourself down beside him. he grumbles, muttering something along the lines of waste of time and how your neck is gonna hurt. you bite back a smile at his cause for concern: you.
“complain all you want, but you know this is gonna look good,” you muse, with an air of smugness. “you’ll be singing my praises.”
he lets his head hang to the side, looking at you, up those pretty eyelashes of his. his eyes are indifferent, yet they crinkle at the corners, trying to not prove you right. pools of grey and blue, you could drown in them.
your elbow is wedged between a pillow and the headboard, propping you up, knees curled, poking into his thigh. his legs are sprawled out in an obnoxious man spread, effectively making you move closer so you don't fall off the bed–that's small enough regardless of the space he's taking up.
he's avoided you all day since you proposed the idea at breakfast: putting charms in his hair. what's strange is that you’ve done his hair plenty of times before sans protest. you ponder it quietly, simultaneously willing him to concede with squinted eyes, as he deadpans you.
if he could, he would've told you that he’s afraid to be alone with you. not that he hasn't been before, he has and he's been this close to you too (he constantly is). but something is different now, something about your hands in his hair that he can’t deal with. especially recently, you've taken to scratching behind his ear and it drives him a little crazy. he won't stop you though, on account of it feeling so good. usually, you're around the others so he can shift his focus elsewhere rather than think about how softly your fingers pad over his scalp, but now you’re alone and he's cursing lily for dragging his friends to some stupid baking endeavour that he stealthily got out of.
you watch as annoyance passes over his features (directed to lily but you don't know that) and it instantly worries you. maybe he was serious about not wanting this, were you pushing him?
“sirius, if you really don't want me to do this,” you start, a nervous edge to your fast rush of words, “please tell me. i don't want to force you into doing anything-”
“hey,” he stops you with a hand over your arm and a small reassuring smile. “i'm sorry, i do. i just think you’re hot when you're irritated.”
“you must think i'm farah fawcett all the time then,” you mutter, rooting around in your pouch for the gold cuffs you thought would suit him. “and i'm not irritated, i have a surprising amount of patience for you,” you correct, inspecting the cuffs in your palm.
sirius sits up a bit to peer at them, chewing his lip in thought. “mmm not her. barbara carrera maybe,” he adds, looking back at you, his resistance fading away.
your eyebrows shoot up slightly, in mild shock. “she's pretty,” you remark to his comparison and the seemingly honest delivery.
“yeah,” he says, incredibly earnest, “so are you.”
curious and curiouser. “you think flirting with me is gonna get you out of this?”
“i don't know, is it working?”
“nope,” you say curtly, bring your hand back up to his face, this time with a few charms as well. “pick.”
he does, and sets them in your other hand held out. you begin parting his hair for the braids, you settle for placing them under the top of his hair, since his layers are short they'll peek through nicely. you tie a sloppy half bun to the unused portion of his hair so it's out of the way and section out a piece to braid.
sirius dutifully holds the gold adornments in his hand as you work, suddenly quiet. he always gets like this, you've noticed. all quip remarks are silenced when your hands are in his hair. you make note to tease him about it later but for now you're content to stay quiet.
he's humming something quietly, a tune you're unfamiliar with, it's ok he’ll tell you later. it fills the silence nicely. you pick the first charm, looping it into a strand of hair and continuing the braid to secure it. his hair is unbelievably soft, it's probably why you like touching it so much. you both know it gets greasier faster because of your constant contact but sirius makes no move to stop you, ever, simply muttering a spell to revive it.
it goes on like this for about ten minutes, mostly because the charms were a bit more difficult to work with than you thought and also because you were extremely wary of trying not to tangle his hair. he stares at you diligently out of his periphery and you try not to meet his gaze.
when you're done you lift the handheld mirror to his face. fuck, he looks beautiful. you have to look away, allowing him to assess everything on his own.
he shoots you a blinding grin, looking exceedingly pleased with how it turned out, “thanks, dove!”
“you’re welcome,” you respond. “it looks good, right?”
he nods, looking into the mirror again. “really good. you did an amazing job.”
your heart flutters at the praise but you don't let it show, accepting his words with a smug smile. it doesn't last long though as he jumps you with a hug, winding you. arms wrapped around your middle, his head rests on your chest, just below your chin, squeezing you in appreciation. you wrap your arms around him in tandem and lean back against the headboard and the pillows, practically pulling half of him on top of you.
it's rough and tumble for a moment before he settles with a low hum, arms still circled around your torso. he knows they’ll go numb the longer he stays like this but he doesn't care.
you trail one hand into his hair instinctively, like it's second nature. your nails lightly graze over that spot behind his ear and he’s done for. when you begin scratching, he melts, like truly melts against your body, letting out a long, pleased sigh. he makes note to kick himself later for acting like this. beneath his cheek, he feels you shake. are you laughing?
he lifts his head, a little incredulous. “what?”
you chuckle, seeing how he blinks away the blissful air to his expression. “nothing, it’s just-”
he looks at you expectantly as you contemplate your words.
you let out an amused snort before speaking again, “i don't know if it's, like, a subconscious response to your animagus form but dogs really like being scratched behind their ears.”
he gapes at you, affronted. “are you calling me a dog?”
“you are, padfoot.”
he whines petulantly before dropping back to your chest. he noses at your sternum, his own wordless way of getting you to continue. so you do.
“dogs have a very concentrated area of nerve endings here,” you explain quietly, scratching his scalp again, just behind his ear. “when stimulated, it causes the brain to release endorphins, making them feel relaxed.”
he hums in thought though it sounds more pleased and it scarcely proves your point.
“how’d you know that?” he asks, voice muffled by your shirt.
“my friend had to take her cat to the vet and i read one of those pet magazines to pass the time,” you murmur, your voice still quiet as you begin to feel sirius growing heavier over you.
“y’so smart,” he slurs, words trailing off in the beginning of sleep.
“don't fall asleep,” you whisper, though you make no effort to wake him up.
he mumbles something incoherent, nuzzling further into your neck but giving you a little grace by shuffling off of your body. one leg is still tangled with yours and his arms are still tightly wrapped around you but at least he's not crushing you.
“tell me more,” he requests, words trailing up at the end in question.
you think for a moment, reaching to the depths of your brain to retrieve the dog facts you read about that day, perking up when you do.
“hmmm dogs have incredibly sensitive noses. they have up to, like, 300 million scent receptors, where humans have about 5 million and the part of their brain that processes smells is 40 times larger than ours,” you mumble, tapping a light finger to the tip of his nose.
“cool,” he exclaims, though it's anything but. his eyes slowly flutter shut as you coil a piece of his hair, sealing your fate for the rest of the evening. that is until, much to sirius’ dismay, his roommates come bursting in.
flour scattered over their clothes and hair alike, they’re boisterous as they enter, chatting something along the lines of baking is actually kinda fun. he groans against your body, sleep stretching far and wide from his grasp. you stifle a laugh as he glares at them annoyedly. they pay no attention to the boy, instead making plans on playing quidditch. to this, he brightens. jumping from the bed at a speed you can't quite justify, not being overly fond of the sport yourself. you were more inclined to flying for fun, rather than competition.
he glances back at you, tentatively, asking for your permission almost. you shrug indifferently, you were going to make your way down to the field anyway. he grins and leans down, pressing a quick firm kiss to your cheek before rushing after the dwindling voices down the stairs, his own broom in tow.
you bite your lip to push down the giggle that bubbles up in your throat, maybe there are some innate canine tendencies.

Maybe that sparks a bit of inspiration: Single dad Sirius Black who is freshly together with reader (I don’t know what else can happen haha)
The Godson
sirius black x reader - the godson
word count: 3.5k
summary: after a month of dating y/n finally meets sirius’s godson (and adopted son)
warnings: kissing, mostly fluffy lol
a/n: this is set in an au where peter was captured before he could fake his death and was sent to azkaban instead of sirius. as godfather sirius gets custody of harry. i’m really glad this was a single dad sirius and not single mom y/n bc i’m lowkey afraid of children and pregnancy lol
The clock chimed seven as Y/N stood outside the door of 12 Grimmauld Place, her hand hovering just above the door knocker. She took a deep breath, steadying herself. The house before her looked nothing like she had imagined. Its weathered black brickwork and faintly foreboding aura reminded her of something out of a gothic novel. Yet, as imposing as it seemed, she reminded herself that Sirius lived here. That thought brought a small, reassuring smile to her lips.
She raised her hand and knocked firmly. The sound echoed in the quiet, and she shuffled slightly on the doorstep, smoothing her skirt and adjusting her coat. A moment later, the door creaked open, and there he was—Sirius Black, all sharp features and unruly dark hair, wearing a casual button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled to his elbows. His usual confident smirk was replaced with something softer, almost unsure.
“You made it,” he said, his voice warm but carrying an edge of nervousness.
“Of course I did,” Y/N replied, tilting her head slightly. “Why wouldn’t I?”
Sirius chuckled lightly, running a hand through his hair as if he were searching for the right words. “No reason. Just—well, this is a bit new for me, isn’t it?”
She raised an eyebrow, sensing his nerves. “You alright?”
He let out a breath and then pulled her into a hug, wrapping his arms around her. “I am now,” he murmured, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head. The simple affection melted away some of her tension, and she allowed herself to relax against him.
When he pulled back, there was a twinkle of humor in his gray eyes, though the slight hesitation remained. “Come on in,” he said, stepping aside to let her through.
Y/N stepped over the threshold, her gaze sweeping over the narrow entryway. The house was as dark and mysterious on the inside as it was on the outside. The wallpaper was faded, and the air carried a faint chill, but there were glimpses of warmth—a vase of fresh flowers on a side table.
“It’s… cozy,” she said carefully, trying not to seem impolite.
Sirius let out a bark of laughter. “That’s a generous way to put it.” He motioned for her to follow him. “Come on. Harry’s in the sitting room. He’s been playing with his toys all day, so don’t be surprised if he’s a little shy at first.”
Y/N nodded, her heart skipping slightly at the thought of meeting Sirius’s adopted son for the first time. This wasn’t just any casual introduction—Sirius had made it clear that Harry was his whole world, and meeting him felt like stepping into a new and important part of Sirius’s life.
They walked down a short hallway and into the sitting room. The space was dimly lit, the only source of light coming from a warm lamp in the corner. In the center of the room, a small boy with messy black hair sat cross-legged on the floor, surrounded by colorful wooden blocks. He was completely focused on the tower he was building, his little face scrunched up in concentration.
“Harry,” Sirius said gently, his voice softening as he spoke to the boy. “Someone’s here to meet you.”
Harry looked up briefly, his bright green eyes—the spitting image of his mother’s—glancing at Y/N before darting back to his father. He immediately scrambled to his feet and hid behind Sirius’s legs, clutching the fabric of his trousers tightly.
Sirius laughed softly, bending down slightly to ruffle Harry’s hair. “Come on, kiddo. You don’t have to be shy. This is Y/N. Remember I told you about her?”
Harry peeked out cautiously, his small hands still gripping Sirius’s legs.
Y/N crouched down to his level, her voice gentle. “Hi, Harry. It’s really nice to meet you.” She smiled, trying to make herself as approachable as possible.
Harry didn’t respond, his face half-hidden behind Sirius.
Sirius straightened up and gave Y/N an apologetic smile. “He takes a little while to warm up to people. Give him a minute.”
Instead of pushing Harry further, Sirius reached out and took Y/N’s hand, leading her toward the spot where Harry had been sitting. They knelt on the floor next to the half-built tower of blocks.
“Alright, kiddo,” Sirius said, his tone light and encouraging. “Why don’t you tell Y/N about your tower? It looks pretty impressive.”
Harry hesitated for a moment, still clinging to Sirius’s leg, but then his curiosity seemed to get the better of him. He let go and stepped closer, though he stayed partially behind Sirius.
Y/N leaned forward, examining the tower with a playful seriousness. “Wow, did you build this all by yourself? It’s amazing!”
Harry’s lips twitched, the beginnings of a smile creeping onto his face. He nodded shyly.
“It’s the tallest one I’ve made,” he mumbled, his voice barely above a whisper.
“Really?” Y/N said, her eyes widening in mock amazement. “You must be an expert builder. I could never make a tower this cool.”
That seemed to do the trick. Harry stepped out from behind Sirius entirely, moving closer to his blocks. “I made it so it doesn’t fall over,” he said, a little louder this time. “See? If you push it like this—” He gave the side of the tower a gentle nudge, and it wobbled but didn’t topple. “—it stays up!”
Y/N gasped, clapping her hands. “That’s so clever! How did you figure that out?”
Harry beamed, the last traces of his shyness melting away as he began to explain the “secrets” of building sturdy towers. His words tumbled out in an excited stream, his hands gesturing animatedly as he spoke.
Sirius watched the two of them, a small, proud smile tugging at his lips. He settled himself on the floor beside them, leaning back on his hands as Harry continued to chatter away to Y/N about his blocks and the other toys scattered around the room.
Y/N glanced at Sirius briefly, her heart swelling at the sight of him so at ease with his son. He caught her gaze and gave her a wink, as if to say, See? Told you he’d come around.
Sirius cleared his throat, drawing their attention. “I’m going to grab us some drinks. Will you be alright with Harry for a few minutes?”
Y/N glanced up at him with a smile. “Of course. Take your time.”
He hesitated for just a fraction of a second, as if double-checking whether she meant it. Then he gave a small nod and pushed himself to his feet. “You behave for Y/N, yeah?” He said as he passed Harry.
Harry looked up at him and nodded solemnly.
As Sirius disappeared into the kitchen, Y/N leaned back on her hands, watching as Harry carefully adjusted the top of his tower. The room was quiet for a moment, the soft sound of the blocks clicking together the only noise.
Then, with a sudden burst of energy, Harry stood up and darted to the end table near the couch. Y/N straightened slightly, curious as to what he was up to.
“Look!” Harry exclaimed, holding something tightly in his small hand as he ran back toward her.
“What’s that, Harry?” Y/N asked, sitting upright as he plopped down onto the floor beside her.
With great care, Harry opened his chubby fist to reveal a small Polaroid photograph. He held it up proudly, his face beaming. “It’s you!” he declared.
Y/N blinked in surprise and leaned forward to get a closer look. She reached out and gently took the photo from his hands, her eyes widening as she recognized it immediately.
It was from about two months ago— a couple weeks before they started dating— at one of the small get-togethers Sirius and his friends seemed to have so often. She remembered the evening clearly—the room had been filled with laughter and warmth, she had been next to Sirius almost the entire night. Remus had been in rare form, cracking joke after joke.
The photo was taken when Remus had accidentally hit the shutter on his camera. Y/N was mid-laugh, her hand resting on Sirius’s shoulder, clearly reacting to something ridiculous Remus had said. Her head was tilted slightly, her eyes crinkled with amusement. But what caught her attention wasn’t herself—it was Sirius. He was looking at her as if she were the only person in that room.
Y/N let out a soft laugh, though her voice wavered slightly. “Where did you find this, Harry?” she asked, her tone light but curious.
“Uncle Sirius keeps it here,” Harry said matter-of-factly, pointing back toward the end table.
“He does, does he?” Y/N murmured, her lips curving into a small smile. She turned the photo over in her hand, noticing that the back was blank—no date, no scribbled note. Just the image itself.
Harry nodded enthusiastically, clearly proud of his discovery. “Do you like it?”
“I do,” Y/N said, her voice warm. “It’s a great picture.”
Just as she finished speaking, a sound came from the doorway. She glanced up to see Sirius standing there, two glasses in his hands. He had paused mid-step, his eyes flicking between her and the photo she still held. His cheeks were dusted with the faintest hint of pink, and for a moment, he looked almost sheepish.
“Ah,” he said, clearing his throat. “I see Harry showed you his favorite picture.”
Y/N raised an eyebrow, holding the photo up slightly. “His favorite?”
He let out a short laugh, walking into the room and setting the glasses down on the coffee table. “Our favorite,” he said, the blush on his face deepened.
Y/N didn’t press him further, but her smile widened. She set the picture on her lap, her fingers lightly brushing its edge as Sirius crouched down beside Harry.
“Alright, kiddo,” Sirius said, his voice softening as he focused on his son. “It’s time for bed.”
Harry immediately groaned, flopping onto his back in a dramatic show of protest. “But I’m not tired!”
“Hmm,” Sirius said, tilting his head. “That’s funny, because I could’ve sworn I saw you rubbing your eyes just five minutes ago.”
“I wasn’t!” Harry insisted, though his argument was half-hearted at best.
Sirius chuckled and reached out to scoop the boy into his arms, lifting him effortlessly. “Come on, mate. Let’s not make this harder than it has to be.”
Harry pouted but didn’t resist, resting his head against Sirius’s shoulder. As they made their way toward the door, Sirius glanced back at Y/N, his expression softening.
“Won’t be long,” he said.
“It’s alright,” Y/N replied, her tone light.
Once they were gone, the room fell quiet again. Y/N let out a small breath, her gaze drifting back to the photo still on her lap. She studied it for a moment longer before carefully placing it back on the end table.
━━━━━━━•✧°•°𓅦°•°✧•━━━━━━━
Reaching Harry’s room, Sirius nudged the door open with his foot. The room was cozy, filled with all the comforts a child could want—soft blankets, a well-loved stuffed stag that Harry refused to sleep without, and shelves lined with books and toys. The walls were painted a calming blue, and enchanted stars hung above the bed, softly twinkling.
Sirius lowered Harry onto the bed, careful not to jostle him too much. Harry let out a sleepy little sigh as Sirius tucked him in, pulling the blankets up snugly around him.
“There we go,” Sirius murmured, brushing a strand of dark hair from Harry’s forehead. “All nice and cozy. You should sleep like a dragon tonight.”
Harry giggled softly, his eyes fluttering open to look at Sirius. “Dragons don’t sleep,” he said, his voice quiet but insistent.
“Of course they do,” Sirius replied, settling on the edge of the bed. “How else do you think they get their energy to fly around and breathe fire all day?”
Harry considered this for a moment before nodding, satisfied with the answer. His tiny hands clutched the stuffed stag tightly, and he wriggled slightly to get comfortable.
“Uncle?” Harry’s voice was soft, almost hesitant.
“Hmm?” Sirius replied, leaning back against the headboard, his gaze warm as he watched Harry.
“Is Y/N gonna be my new mummy?”
The question hit Sirius like a gust of wind, unexpected but not entirely surprising. He blinked, momentarily unsure of how to respond. Harry’s green eyes—so much like Lily’s—stared up at him, wide and innocent, waiting for an answer.
Sirius chuckled softly, shaking his head. “No, mate,” he said gently. “Y/N’s not your mummy.”
Harry frowned slightly, hugging the stuffed stag closer. “But… she’s really nice,” he said, his voice laced with the kind of earnestness only a child could muster.
“She is,” Sirius agreed, his lips curving into a small smile. “She’s very nice.” He reached out to ruffle Harry’s hair, earning a quiet giggle. “But your mummy is Lily, remember? She and your dad loved you so much, and that’s never going to change.”
Harry nodded slowly, his little face thoughtful. “But you’re my daddy now, right?”
Sirius felt his chest tighten at the question. He leaned forward, resting his arms on his knees as he looked down at Harry. “I’m your godfather,” he said after a moment. “That means I get to take care of you and keep you safe.”
Harry nodded sleepily, his eyelids starting to droop.
Sirius reached out and gently patted Harry’s shoulder. “Now, close those eyes and get some rest.”
Harry’s lips twitched into a faint smile as he finally let his eyes fall shut. Sirius sat there for a moment longer, watching the steady rise and fall of his chest as he drifted off.
Standing, Sirius leaned down to press a light kiss to Harry’s forehead. “Sweet dreams, kiddo,” he murmured before quietly slipping out of the room.
The soft creak of the floorboards signaled Sirius’s return long before Y/N saw him. She glanced up as he stepped into the sitting room, his dark hair slightly tousled, as if he’d run his hands through it a few times. His gaze landed on her, and his lips curved into an easy smile that didn’t quite mask the faint trace of something thoughtful in his expression.
“Harry’s out like a light,” he said, walking over to the couch and sinking into the cushions beside her.
“That was fast,” Y/N replied with a small smile, shifting slightly to make room for him.
“Four-year-olds don’t last long once they’ve decided to give in,” Sirius said, a hint of amusement in his tone.
He leaned forward, reaching for the glass of whiskey he’d left on the coffee table earlier. But before he could take a sip, Y/N snatched it from his hand, her fingers brushing against his as she did.
“Hey!” he protested, though his tone was more surprised than annoyed.
Y/N raised the glass to her lips, her eyes twinkling with mischief as she took a small sip. “I’m thirsty,” she teased, handing it back to him with an innocent shrug.
Sirius let out a laugh, a rich, warm sound that filled the room. “Stealing from a poor, hardworking man in his own home,” he said, shaking his head as he set the glass back down on the table.
Before she could reply, he leaned back and looped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer until her side was pressed against his. It was an easy, intimate gesture, and Y/N felt her heart give a little flutter at the warmth of his touch.
For a moment, they sat in comfortable silence, the quiet hum of the house wrapping around them. Then, Y/N turned her head slightly, her gaze settling on Sirius’s profile—the sharp line of his jaw, the faint shadow of stubble, the way his dark eyes seemed lost in thought as he stared ahead.
She reached up, gently brushing her fingers along his cheek to get his attention. When he turned to look at her, she leaned in and pressed a soft, tentative kiss to his lips.
But he didn’t kiss her back.
Y/N pulled away almost immediately, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. “Sorry,” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. “I—”
“No,” Sirius interrupted softly, his hand still resting on her shoulder. He sighed, shifting slightly so he could face her fully. His fingers moved to the back of her neck, his thumb brushing idly against her skin in slow, soothing strokes.
Y/N searched his face, her brow furrowing. “Is everything alright?”
Sirius hesitated for a moment, his gaze flickering to the floor before meeting hers again. “I’ve just been thinking,” he said, his voice low and thoughtful. “Wondering if… if it was too soon for Harry to meet you.”
“Oh,” Y/N said, her heart sinking slightly. She sat up straighter, creating a small distance between them. “I—I understand. If you think it was too soon, we can… I don’t know, maybe I could come over when he’s already in bed? Or we could spend time at my flat instead?”
Her suggestion came quickly, almost too quickly, as if she were trying to fix something that didn’t necessarily need fixing. But Sirius shook his head, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
“Maybe I was wrong,” he said, his voice softening.
Y/N blinked, caught off guard. “What do you mean?”
Sirius’s hand on the back of her neck slid upward, his fingers threading gently into her hair. At the same time, his other hand slipped under the hem of her shirt, resting against her waist. His touch was firm but not forceful, and the warmth of his palm against her skin sent a shiver down her spine.
“I mean,” he murmured, his voice dropping to a husky tone, “maybe it’s good for Harry to have a feminine presence around here. Someone kind and patient who can put up with my nonsense.”
Y/N’s breath hitched as his grip on her waist tightened, pulling her just slightly closer. Her hands rested on his chest, feeling the steady thrum of his heartbeat beneath her palms.
“Sirius,” she began, her voice wavering, but he didn’t let her finish.
His other hand slid further into her hair, his fingers curling gently as he pulled her in. When his lips met hers this time, it wasn’t soft or hesitant—it was urgent, almost desperate. Sirius kissed her like he was afraid to stop, like he was trying to convey something through the intensity of it that he couldn’t put into words.
A soft moan escaped him, and the sound sent a wave of heat rushing through Y/N. Her fingers curled into the fabric of his shirt as she kissed him back, matching his fervor.
The world outside seemed to disappear—there was only him, the warmth of his hands, the rough scrape of his stubble against her skin, the way his lips moved against hers with such precision it left her breathless.
The warmth of Sirius’s hands against Y/N’s skin was intoxicating, his touch tender as his lips moved hungrily against hers. The room around them seemed to fade away. Sirius’s fingers trailed up her back, beneath her shirt, as he deepened the kiss.
Y/N melted into him, her hands curling into the fabric of his shirt, pulling him closer. His lips were insistent, as though he couldn’t get enough of her, and every now and then, a soft groan escaped him, reverberating against her lips and making her pulse race.
But just as Sirius shifted to pull her fully into his lap, a small voice shattered the moment.
“Uncle Sirius?”
They sprang apart instantly, both turning toward the doorway where Harry stood clutching his stuffed stag, his dark curls messy from tossing and turning in bed. His wide eyes blinked at them sleepily, completely unaware of the moment he’d just interrupted.
Sirius cleared his throat, running a hand through his tousled hair as he tried to compose himself. “Harry, what’s wrong, kid?” he asked, his voice slightly hoarse.
Harry shuffled into the room, dragging the stuffed toy along the floor. “I can’t sleep,” he mumbled, rubbing at his eyes with a chubby fist.
Y/N sat frozen on the couch, her cheeks still flushed and her heart pounding from the sudden interruption. She tried to calm herself, smoothing her hands over her lap as Harry climbed onto the couch beside Sirius.
“What’s keeping you up?” Sirius asked, pulling Harry into his lap and brushing a hand through the boy’s unruly hair.
Harry shrugged, and plopped himself right onto Y/N’s lap, his small hands clutching at her shirt as he snuggled against her.
Y/N stiffened, her hands hovering awkwardly in the air. She glanced at Sirius, her eyes wide with uncertainty.
Sirius’s brow furrowed slightly as he reached out, clearly noticing her hesitation. “Harry, maybe you should—”
“It’s alright,” Y/N interrupted quickly, her voice soft but firm.
She looked down at Harry, who had already settled against her like he belonged there. Slowly, cautiously, she placed her arms around him, her hands resting gently on his back. Harry let out a small, contented sigh, his grip on his stuffed stag loosening as his eyes began to droop.
Sirius watched the exchange, his concern melting into something softer, something that made his chest tighten in the best way. He leaned back into the couch, his posture relaxing as he draped an arm over Y/N’s shoulder.
“You’re good at this,” he murmured, his voice low and filled with admiration.
Y/N glanced up at him, a shy smile tugging at her lips. “He makes it easy,” she replied quietly, her fingers brushing lightly against Harry’s back.
Sirius’s heart swelled at her words. For a moment, he simply watched them—Y/N holding his godson with such gentle care, Harry’s small form tucked safely in her arms. It was a picture of something he hadn’t realized he’d been longing for.
As Harry’s breathing slowed and his grip on his stuffed animal went slack, Sirius leaned over and pressed a soft kiss to Y/N’s temple. “Thank you,” he whispered, his lips lingering against her skin for a moment.
Y/N didn’t respond, but the way she leaned into his touch told him all he needed to know.

“Ready to become uncles?” You asked, a yawn following your words.
Remus smiled at you, soft and sleepy from the couch facing yours. His cane rested on the arm of the couch, abandoned for the comfort of the shitty hospital seat. Remus nodded wordlessly.
“I reckon I’ll be a terrible uncle,” Peter gruffed as he shook the box of candies into his mouth, emptying it “I have nothing to teach this bloody baby-”
“I don’t think anyone expects you to teach him anything Wormtail-” Sirius pipped up with a laugh from the corner where he paced in circles, head swiveling towards the room James and Lily were in as a nurse hurried out of it.
You ignored the bustling of nurses, you had long learned by now that unless you saw James, it probably didn’t mean anything.
“Why on Merlin’s green earth did they decide to give birth in a muggle hospital-” Peter groaned into his hands, the hours of waiting bearing down on him.
“Lily refused to do a home birth remember? St Mungo’s doesn't exactly do the whole birth thing- ” Remus muttered from the small beige sofa he had curled up in, long legs spilling from the edge of the cushions. You wondered if he was comfortable, but his eyes were closed and he had barely moved in the past two hours so you assumed on some level he probably was. Well, between his cardigan and long pants, he was at least doing better than you. You could feel your skin start erupting in goosebumps from the cold.
It had been a blur really, the furious knocking at your door at the hands of Peter, and haphazardly putting on the first thing you found after basically clawing off the stuffy funeral dress. You didn’t even have enough time to grab a jacket, barely putting on shoes as Remus and Peter swept you off to the muggle hospital. A shiver ran down your spine as you cursed the pajama shorts and stupid t-shirt you had thrown on.
You could feel Sirius’s grey eyes on you, staring straight into the side of your head. But you refused to look, instead burying your face further into your hands. You didn’t notice he had moved until he was right next to you-
“Take it-” Sirius handed you his suit’s jacket, basically shoving it into your arms so you couldn't say no. “You’re going to get sick,” You stared at it, fingers softly squeezing the soft material. He sat next to you.
The small, beige couch you had chosen to sit on was much like the one you had when you were freshly moved in. It lived in your home for a measly two weeks before Euphemia decreed that no child of hers would have such a stiff abomination in her watch. It was hard and restricting. The two of you might as well have been sitting on a wooden bench. But neither of you dared to move, so you sat, silently, both wishing Euphemia could save you from the clutches of the rigid couch.
Sirius thought of the sofa. And when you first moved in. Together and bright-eyed, he had been so in love with you then. He reckons he still was. But now he knew there was no hope of you loving him back.
He cursed the couch silently.
“Put it on,” he sighed as he leaned back, his white button-up shifting as he threw his arm over the backrest. “Don’t be stubborn-”
You huffed as you put it on, “thanks…”
“Don’t mention it,” you leaned back too, the back of your neck close to his arm, almost touching but quite. “Did you bring my camera?” you nodded, but he didn't answer back.
You couldn’t stand the distance between you, a thick jelly of silence that was anything but peaceful. You dreaded going home, you dreaded having to face that your best friend, the boy you so dearly loved was upset with you.
Especially over something so petty. What did he care that you had a job? Your own life? Something to do that wasn’t shared with him? It was rather selfish of him, wasn’t it? You could almost hear your father spew that sentence from the darkest pits of your mind.
You stared at the small bag in Sirius’s hand. You didn’t know why you hadn’t taken notice of it before. He clutched the small velvet bag tightly. Did it have an extension charm? You wondered if it was his things then, had he carried that to the funeral? You thought you would’ve noticed. Had he been planning on staying at James’s? Had he cleared his things at some point without you noticing?
You rubbed circles into the palm of your hand and chewed at your lip worryingly.
If your father knew he’d call you stupid. Stupid for not looking for an apartment to move out, stupid for not being the first to leave, irresponsible, too trusting, so stupid.
You decided you maybe didn’t want to know if he was indeed planning to leave.
“Hey-” he shifted uncomfortably “do you think we can talk about... you know, everything”
“Sirius I don’t know if it's the time-” You refused to even take a peek at him, even though you knew he was staring right at you now.
“Well, Merlin knows how much longer we’re going to be here-” he was right, you had all been here for ages waiting for the baby to come “so yeah it might be the time,”
You sighed, finally turning to look at him. His stupid shiny grey eyes, and his stupid porcelain skin. His stupid stupid frowning lip. He’d deny he was sporting one if you called him out on it.
He had always been a pouty one.
You were mad. At least you wanted to be, but when you looked at him, in all his disheveled glory, the hair he had run his hand through a thousand times, the white button-up with the top buttons undone and that had been unconsciously untucked from his slacks. You just couldn’t be genuinely mad.
So you softened, finally moving to face him. Your knee knocked against his, his warmth transferring from his leg onto your skin.
“I’m sorry, for being so petty earlier- it was unfair and-” Sirius sighed, staring at your hand on your lap. His fingers twitched with the need to hold yours, to feel your no doubt freezing fingers between his warm ones.
He thought of your first week of living together again.
He grabbed your hand. You stared at the bag in his other hand again.
Like if you stared at it hard enough it would tell you its contents. But your thoughts drifted as your soft fingers were enveloped in his. Yet, you didn’t say anything, you didn’t dare. You squeezed his hand and he finally looked up, back from whatever thought he had briefly gotten lost in.
“I’m really sorry about the past few weeks-”
“I’m sorry too,”
“I just wish you could trust me enough to let me take care of you- there’s no one else in the world I’d rather spend my days with…” You swallowed thickly as he spoke “I love you-”
“My baby’s here!” James burst through a door down the hallway, cheering at the top of his lungs without caring about the nurse shushing him. “He’s here and he’s beautiful come on you lot- come on!”
Sirius quickly scrambled to his feet, the other two boys following in the chaos of unsticking themselves from their respective sofas. You tried to ignore it, the sting in your heart. You loved him too of course. But did he love you the way you loved him?
There simply wasn't any time for that right now.
Sirius didn’t let go of your hand; he simply pulled, pulled until you came up with him. His hand grabbed tightly onto yours and as you ran down the hall, straight for the door to Lily’s room.
He never once let go of you.
The room was lowly lit, and Lily looked exhausted, but a smile graced her features nonetheless. Sirius tossed the small velvet bag to James with his free hand. The worry of it left your head as quickly as it had come.
Sirius dragged you by your hand all the way up to the bed, his face turning in wonder as he looked at the small baby in Lily’s arms.
“He’s so small” Peter called out from the foot of the bed,
“He’s so bloody pink-” Sirius glanced at James’s darker skin, a beaming smile nevertheless decorating his face. “Do you reckon he’ll stay like that? Or did he get the redhead’s genes?”
“Oi is that the first thing you have to say about your godson?” James couldn't help but laugh
“My godson?” Sirius stared blankly at James, briefly flickering between Lily’s equally beaming smile and the baby’s little pink face.
“I meant to ask but-” James smiled sheepishly as Lily glared,
“Merlin he’s my godson”
“Do you want to hold him?” Lily whispered as Sirius’s face broke into a smile as well,
“Of course, I want to hold my bloody godson Evans- he’s my godson”
Remus chuckled as he patted James on the back. You couldn’t help but wrap your hand around the camera that hung from your wrist.
You snapped a picture.
You knew what Sirius would write on the back of it later.
My godson. July 31, 1980
Just simple, and small, in his fancy, loopy cursive and black ink. But monumental in itself. He had done it. He had a family, he had always had one but now he was properly part of it. He was not just a stray taken in, but he now had a part in it. He’d love that baby until his body gave out.
He knew it, you knew it, James and Lily knew it. From the second he was born, this baby would be the most loved baby on the planet.
“I can’t believe he’s mine-”
“You don’t get to take him home mate”
“Hush Prongs- I’m going to be his favorite I know it” Sirius smiled, a playful smirk exchanged between friends. James couldn’t help but quip back
“Right after Uncle Moony-”
“Ah that’s for sure,” Remus laughed
“I meant his favorite parent but I reckon Wormtail will be the preferred uncle, with all the candy pouring from his pockets the kid is gonna love him no doubt-” You all couldn’t help but laugh-
“Do you want to hold him too?” Lily asked, her gaze shifting onto your face. “I reckon the godmother also deserves to hold baby Harry-”
“Are you serious?
“Obviously-”
“Lily are you being serious-”
“Yes! Black hand her the baby- god-” Sirius chuckled as he passed the small bundle into your arms, placing the camera at the foot of the bed. He was heavier than you expected, and the tears gathered in your eyes as you looked at his little face. Harry was small and definitely pink. He was a quiet little thing, undisturbed by the exchange of hands he was going through. Sirius leaned his chin on top of your shoulder, his cheek borderline pressed against yours.
“Isn’t he the ugliest most precious thing you’ve ever seen?”
“Oi!”
“He’s so ugly it's cute-” His words tickled your ear
“I don’t think babies are supposed to be all that cute straight after birth Sirius-”
“I know love,”
“Alright, picture time idiots-” Remus said, leaning on his cane as he grabbed the camera with his free hand. James sitting on the side of Lily’s bed as you and Sirius also approached, baby Harry still in your arms.
“I look like shit-” You huffed as you sat on the bed with Lily
“I do too”
“Yeah, but you have a reason to Lils” Lily laughed. Sirius’s hand never left your back.
“Well- he won’t remember anyway-”
“The picture will-”
“Say godparents!” Sirius had basically wrapped himself to your side, his face pressed against yours, his arm around your waist as he leaned down for the picture.
The flash made your eyes sting, a wide smile on your face.
It was fitting, the disheveled state of the lot of you, even in the picture the nurse would take for you all later. A family sewed together like a mismatched quilt.
Sirius smiled all night.
“Seriously though why is he so pink? Is this some sort of condition? Bloody baby doesn’t look anything like Prongs-”
“-Yet” James beamed.

Just imagine poly!marauders x reader who decides to go on a holiday trip together but when they arrive there is the classic one-bed-trope (or maybe two and they argue on who gets to share the bed with reader) and she’s all shy bc even though they live together she never spent a night with them in the same room, specially on the same bed!
(Btw, are you planning on getting them together?)
hehehe soooo... I am planning on it, but for right now I live for the pining and the wholesome moments without them being together. anyways here is part 9.
And They Were Roommates pt.9
Summary:reader and the boys go on a trip, one bed trope, it's cute
word count: 1.9k
You and the boys decided to go on a little weekend getaway. You all decided to go to some classic touristy spots like the zoo and aquarium, which the boys definitely loved, and a history museum, which for some reason really fascinated James and Sirius, they stopped at nearly every attraction and stared in awe, especially when it came to the dinosaur fossils.
You chalked it up to them being typical boys and found it almost comical, they acted like they had never seen some of the stuff.
After a long day filled with fun, you were in need of a rest. Luckily, you and the boys had rented rooms at a hotel nearby, knowing that it would be too far a journey to go back home at the end of the day.
After a quick bite to eat at a cute little cafe, you and the boys made your way to the hotel. It was a short journey, just up the road from where you had been spending the whole day.
“I just don’t understand,” Sirius said while walking to the hotel, “Those paintings, they were pretty, but why were they in a museum? They didn’t even move.”
You laughed and continued walking. “Of course they don’t move Siri, they’re paintings.” you replied.
Sirius opened his mouth, looking like he was going to question you, but Remus nudged him and shook his head at Sirius, halting him from asking any more silly questions.
You reached the lobby of the regal hotel you were to stay at. Remus told the three of you to wait, that he would check in and grab the keys. You hung back with Sirius and James and talked about all the fun animals you saw. James was recalling a particular shark that he liked when Remus returned to the group.
“Uh, small problem,” He started, making the three of you turn your attention to him, “There's been a mix up with the rooms.”
You furrowed your brows, what kind of mix up could there possibly be? You thought you booked everything correctly. “What do you mean ‘mix up’?” you asked.
Remus sighed. “Well uh, instead of two rooms with two beds each, there’s two rooms with one bed.”
“Oh,” you said. “That’s not a problem, we can share, right?” you looked at the other boys. They nodded in agreement.
“Ok, how do we want to split the rooms then?” Remus asked.
“I’ll go with Y/N.” James said in a rush.
Sirius looked at him and scoffed. “That is like calling dibs on someone, you can't-”
“I didn't call dibs on her, I just said-”James interrupted. They began talking over each other.
“-Look, personally, I think it’s just unfair if-”
“-shut up Sirius”
“James kicks in his sleep.” Sirius turned to comment to you.
“Do not!” James defended himself
“Yes you do! Tell that to all the bruises I have acquired over the years!” Sirius shot back at him.
“Maybe I kick because you toss and turn constantly-” James was interrupted again, this time by Remus.
“Boys,” he said calmly, having had to break up these types of arguments many times, “How about we let Y/N decide who she wants to room with, yeah?”
With that, all the attention was now directed at you. “Oh. I don’t mind, I can share with whoever,” you said, not wanting to hurt anyone’s feelings by picking one person over the other two.
Remus sighed and turned to the other two boys. He muttered something to them and they all agreed by nodding, then broke into a game of stick and stones. This made you giggle, so incredibly childish of them, but so incredibly amusing to you. You thought for a moment that maybe they were playing to see who would be stuck with you, that maybe none of them actually wanted to share a bed with you. But this theory of yours was proven wrong when Remus was eliminated and swore at the other two. You giggled again.
James and Sirius continued until Sirius groaned and threw his head back, James laughing in victory. He swung an arm around you and said, “Looks like you’re stuck with me tonight, love.” James grabbed one room key from Remus, and started to lead you two to your room.
Before you made it very far, Sirius whispered to you “I’m not joking he kicks.”
You smiled and bid Remus and Sirius goodnight before making your way to your room.
James, always the gentleman, carried your bag for you and opened the door for you when you reached the correct room. You shuffled in and took a look around. The room was quite big and luxurious.
The bed was king sized, so you were a little more relieved. You walked in and plopped yourself right in the middle of it. James set your bag down and looked around the room as well.
“Oh uh, I can sleep on the floor or something by the way. I’m sure there’s extra pillows and blankets in the closet.” He said.
You sat up and looked at him. “No! Don’t be ridiculous James, I’m not making you sleep on the floor.” you laughed. “Besides, there’s plenty of room for both of us in this bed.” you pat the spot next to you.
James was blushing but trying to play it cool. “Ok, as long as you’re ok…”
You rolled your eyes at him but smiled. He sat on the bed next to you.
“So is it true?” you asked, looking up at him.
“Is what true?” he asked back.
You laughed and replied “That you kick.”
He chuckled and shook his head. “No… I mean maybe. How should I know I’m asleep.” he laughed.
“Have you and Sirius shared a bed a lot? I mean… for him to bring it up…” you said, trying to not make it seem like you were asking something too personal. You have seen them laying together often on the couch… you knew they were close and often brushed it off as something they did as friends, that they were just cuddling and affectionate. But know… know you weren’t too sure, with Sirius’s comment and all. Maybe they were more than friends…
James chuckled again and thought for a moment. Then he replied, “Yeah we have… when we were younger, in school, he would climb into my bed a lot when… well, Sirius doesn’t have a particularly great family. So when he would get sad or stressed or… I don’t know… if he’d have any feelings relating to it, he’d often climb in my bed. We’d talk about it, or sometimes just lay there, then eventually we would fall asleep.” he turned to you to continue. “Then when he was about 16, he ran away from home and came to live with me. For a while we only had one bed,” he laughed, “but we didn’t really mind. It wasn’t until Remus came to live with us that we all got our separate rooms.”
“Wait,” you said a bit confused, “Remus came to live with you too?”
James nodded. “Yeah, a little while after Sirius did. Remus also has… a complicated family history. So yeah… we’ve all shared beds but… I guess we just like to be close to each other.”
You felt so bad, so guilty for bringing it up. You thought that maybe… but it was actually much worse, sadder. “Oh…” you said, because that was really the only thing you could say. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to bring-”
“Oh no! It’s fine.” James stopped you. “We're all the better for it.” He smiled.
You nodded but still felt a little bad. You hopped up and told him you were going to shower quickly. He said alright and that he would find something to watch for the two of you. Showereng, you still felt awful for assuming that maybe they had slept together, when in reality, they were just boys who were affectionate, and… ugh.
You dried off and changed into some comfy clothes, stepping out into the cold bedroom.
James was already in some sleeping pants and a hoodie, leaning back on the headboard, staring at the tv screen. “I found two movies we could watch either Jurassic World or Mulan, but if I had to pick… I’d wanna watch Jurassic World.” he said, looking at you with pleading eyes.
“You really liked the dinosaur exhibit today didn’t you?” you laughed.
“I really liked the dinosaur exhibit.” he echoed and smiled at you, turning the movie on.
You climbed into bed right alongside him, also leaning against the headboard. You two watched the movie and talked for a while longer before either of you got tired. It was midnight when both of you decided to sleep, knowing that it would be an early morning.
“Y/N?” James’s voice sounded from beside you.
“Hmm” you answered, trying to get comfortable.
“Is it ok if I take my shirt off?” he asked.
You froze completely. James was incredibly fit and you would be lying if you said you didn’t love the thought of sleeping next to him shirtless. But it was just like him to ask before doing it, to make sure he wasn’t making you uncomfortable at all.
“U-uh yeah go for it.” you stammered. Thank god he had already turned off the lights or else he would see the red hue staining your face.
He pulled off his hoodie and threw it across the room. You turned onto your side, away from him as you heard him say “Goodnight Y/N”.
“Goodnight,” you replied.
You couldn’t sleep immediately, the one reason being that you were under the AC, which, after being in the shower, made you so much colder. You tried to pull the comforter up more, but James turned to you.
“You alright, love?” he asked.
“Yeah, just cold.” you said, trying to keep your teeth from chattering. James got up and found his hoodie from where he threw it and handed it to you.
“Oh no,” you began to protest, but it was no use, he was already bunching it up over your head. You gave in and let him slip the warm fabric over your body.
“Better?” he asked.
“A little,” you said as he climbed back into bed, truthfully, it did help, but you were still slightly cold.
You felt the bed shift, then felt his arms around you. If you weren't blushing before, you definitely were now. You made to protest, to say that it was ok and that he didn’t have to but before you could get a word out James shushed you.
“Shh, I run very warm.” he said sleepily, and it was true. He was like a human furnace, like a heated blanket wrapped around you.
You smiled and curled up to get more comfortable. You must have accidentally brushed James’s leg while doing so because he let out a yelp then a laugh.
“Why are your feet so cold!” he whisper shouted, making you giggle and apologize.
“I run very cold.” you joked.
You both layed there, getting warm and dozing off. You wished you could feel it every night, it was like the sun was shining perfectly on you, you could get used to this. But he was your roommate and you didn’t want to make anything weird between you all, even if that meant never feeling warm enough in bed again.
i hope this is good... idk. also james got what he wanted from last part lmao

Good boy, Pads

Padfoot x Reader
Summary: Your furry friend comes to check on you
WC: 2k
CW: Straight cis man
Part one {MasterList}
The bell above the diner door jingled as you pushed it open, stepping out into the brisk night. It had been a long shift, and the cool air was a welcome relief after hours spent in the humid warmth of the lobby. You wrapped your scarf tighter around your neck, ready to start your walk home, when movement caught your eye.
At first, you panicked- praying to whatever humourless god that it wasn't the same man as before. Stiffening your shoulders, you shifted to look down the steps.
There, sitting under the glow of the streetlamp just a few feet from the diner, was the enormous black dog.
You froze for a moment, your heart leaping into your throat before recognition settled in. “Padfoot?” You whispered, disbelief tinging your voice. Even with your low tone, the dog’s head snapped toward you. As soon as he saw you, his tail started wagging furiously. He rose to his paws, his massive frame moving with an almost uncanny grace as he trotted toward you.
“What are you doing here?” You huffed as he reached you, his cold nose nudging your hand insistently. He didn’t bark, didn’t growl- just pressed himself closer to you, his tail thumping against the sidewalk like an excited metronome.
You glanced around, expecting to see the two men from the other night, but the street was empty. “Are you by yourself?” You murmured, crouching to run a hand through his sleek black fur. Padfoot huffed softly, leaning into your touch as if this was exactly where he wanted to be.
The sheer warmth of him, his solid presence, sent a wave of comfort washing over you. One you didn't seem to clock until he flashed you a smile- something resembling a Dalmatian's; all teeth- but it only added to the comfort you felt with him. “Did they send you here? Or did you decide to come on your own?” You smiled, your tone light and teasing despite the flutter of nerves still lingering from your strange encounter days ago.
Padfoot’s ears twitched as if he understood, and his tail gave another happy wag. You let out a small laugh, standing and brushing off your hands. “Well, I guess I can’t say no to you walking me home,” You said softly. “Come on, then, lil gentleman.”
As you turned to begin your walk home, the diner door creaked open again behind you. The familiar jingle of the bell made you pause, glancing over your shoulder. Your coworker, Todd, stepped out, holding something in his hand.
“Hey,” Todd called, his voice carrying an edge of smugness that always made your skin crawl. “You forgot this inside.” He held up a small notebook- your tips ledger- and waved it like a prize.
“Oh,” You muttered, forcing a polite smile as you took a step back toward the diner. “Thanks, Todd.”
Before you could close the distance, Padfoot stiffened. His massive body tensed like a drawn bowstring, his ears pinned back as a low, guttural growl rumbled from his chest.
You stopped dead, your hand hovering midair. “Padfoot?” You murmured, glancing down at the dog in confusion. He was planted firmly in front of you now, his body a wall between you and Todd, his lips curling back just enough to show a flash of sharp teeth.
Todd froze, his smirk faltering just enough for you to catch a flicker of something in his eyes. He hesitated, his gaze darting from Padfoot to you, then back to the dog. It was subtle, so quick you might have imagined it, but there was a tension in his posture now, like he’d been caught off guard.
“Whoa,” Todd said, holding his hands up in mock surrender, though his voice wasn’t as steady as before. “What’s his problem?”
Padfoot didn’t flinch. His growl deepened, low and rumbling, a sound that vibrated through the cool air. His glowing eyes stayed locked on Todd, unblinking and unwavering.
“Padfoot,” You scolded softly, resting a hand on his collar and tugging gently. The black dog didn’t budge, his massive frame taut and unmoving. “It’s fine, he’s just-”
Todd took a step back, his movements stiff, and forced a nervous laugh. “Big guy, huh? Looks like he’s ready to rip my throat out.” He attempted a smile, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes.
You frowned, glancing between Todd and Padfoot. “He’s just protective,” You muttered, though you couldn’t shake the strange edge in Todd’s tone- or the way Padfoot hadn’t relaxed an inch.
“Yeah, well, maybe get him a leash or something,” Todd muttered, his voice quieter now. He extended the notebook toward you with a jerky motion, his gaze flicking toward Padfoot like he didn’t trust him to stay still. “Here.”
You reached out quickly, snatching the notebook and stepping back. “Thank you,” You muttered, a bit embarrassed, your voice sharper than you intended. Something about Todd’s demeanor was setting you on edge, and Padfoot’s growl wasn’t helping. “You can go now.”
Todd hesitated for a moment longer, his eyes narrowing slightly as he looked at the dog again. Then, without another word, he turned and walked away, his shoulders hunched and his pace faster than usual. Padfoot’s growl followed him back down the street, tapering off into a low rumble as the man disappeared around the corner.
It was odd. He was usually off an hour or so after you. Maybe he was cut early?
The silence that followed was heavy, the only sound your shaky exhale as you finally let go of Padfoot’s collar. “What was that about?” You murmured, crouching to meet the dog’s intense gaze. His ears twitched at your voice, but he didn’t look at you. His eyes were still fixed on the direction Todd had gone, his body tense and alert.
You let out a long sigh, shaking your head as you crouched down in front of Padfoot. His glowing eyes finally flicked to you, though his body remained tense, muscles coiled like a spring. You rested a hand on his massive head, brushing your fingers lightly over the sleek fur.
“You can’t be mean to every man I’m alone with,” you said softly, your voice a mix of teasing and exasperation. His ears twitched at your tone, but the sharp focus in his eyes didn’t waver. “It’s not exactly a great look for a gentleman like you, you know.”
Padfoot huffed, his tail flicking once in what you could have sworn was defiance. You couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at your lips as you scratched behind one of his ears. “But you don’t like him, do you?” you sighed, your tone shifting to something quieter, more thoughtful. His gaze flicked briefly in the direction Todd had gone, a low grumble still rumbling deep in his chest.
“That’s okay,” You said after a moment, your fingers tracing absent patterns over his fur. “I don’t like him either.”
Padfoot tilted his head at that, his sharp features softening ever so slightly. The intensity in his glowing eyes ebbed, replaced with something gentler, almost understanding. It was uncanny, the way he seemed to grasp your words, as if he were more than just a dog. The thought scared you for a moment but you quickly pushed it away.
“You’re lucky you’re cute,” A quiet laugh escaped you as you stood and adjusted your scarf. “Otherwise, I’d have a hard time forgiving all that growling.”
Padfoot’s tail wagged again, this time with a deliberate, slow rhythm, as though he knew you weren’t really mad. He nudged your hand with his cold nose, urging you to start walking. You glanced back toward the direction Todd had gone, unease still prickling at the edges of your mind, but the steady warmth of Padfoot at your side made it easier to push away.
“Alright, big guy,” you said softly, slipping your hands into your pockets as you turned to head home. “Let’s get out of here before I start imagining things again.”
Padfoot stuck close to your side as you began your walk home, his large frame brushing against your leg every so often. His head swiveled with every sound, every flicker of movement, his ears twitching at the faintest noise. The way his glowing eyes scanned your surroundings made you feel oddly protected, even if his intensity bordered on unnerving.
The streets were quiet, save for the occasional splash of puddles beneath your boots. Padfoot trotted slightly ahead, his focus unyielding. But then, in a sudden shift, he leapt into a puddle, sending a spray of water into the air. You blinked, startled, before a soft laugh escaped you.
“Really?” you asked, raising an eyebrow as he wagged his tail, the picture of innocence. “Big scary protector by day, puddle enthusiast by night?”
Padfoot barked- a quick, sharp sound that almost sounded like a laugh. He hopped into another puddle, his massive paws splashing water in every direction. Despite yourself, you couldn’t stop the smile spreading across your face.
“You’re ridiculous,” you muttered, your tone filled with affection as you reached down to pat his head. “But I guess I’ll allow it, just this once.”
Encouraged by your reaction, Padfoot spun in place, kicking up more water. His tail wagged furiously, and for a moment, the heavy tension of the night melted away. He bounced around you in an almost playful circle, his antics so absurd you couldn’t help but laugh outright.
“Alright, alright, settle down!” you said through your laughter, holding your hands up in mock surrender. “You’re going to get me soaked!”
Padfoot huffed, his tail wagging as he returned to your side, his playful energy lingering as you continued your walk. Every so often, he’d dart ahead, his sharp eyes scanning the street before circling back to you, his steps light and purposeful.
When you finally reached your front door, you turned to Padfoot, his massive frame still at your side, his glowing eyes fixed on you as if to make sure you were truly safe. He didn’t move, his body taut, waiting for your next move.
You crouched down, a warm smile spreading across your face despite the chill in the air. “Well, big guy, I guess this is where we part ways for the night,” you said softly, reaching out to scratch behind his ears. “Thanks for playing the hero again.”
Padfoot huffed quietly, his ears flicking back in an almost bashful way. His tail gave a slow, steady wag, his intense gaze softening as you leaned closer.
Without thinking, you pressed a quick, warm kiss to the top of his head. When you pulled back, your heart skipped a beat at the sight of a faint lipstick smudge standing out starkly against his sleek black fur. You couldn’t hold back your laugh, shaking your head at the absurdity.
“Well,” you teased, brushing your fingers lightly over his head. “Now your humans will know where you’ve been tonight.”
Padfoot let out a low grumble, his tail wagging just a bit faster as if he understood the playful jab. He nudged your hand gently with his cold nose, his body still rooted in place, watching you intently.
“Go on now,” you murmured, standing and resting a hand on the doorknob. “I’m safe. You can head home.”
For a moment, he didn’t budge, his eyes flicking between you and the door, his posture still protective. You gave him one last smile, your tone firm but kind. “I mean it, Padfoot. I’m okay.”
Finally, with a soft huff that almost sounded like reluctant agreement, he stepped back, his tail wagging lazily. He watched as you unlocked the door and stepped inside, his sharp eyes following your every move until the door clicked shut behind you.
From the other side of the door, you peeked through the peephole, catching one last glimpse of Padfoot. He lingered for a moment longer, his nose twitching as if he were taking in the night air, before he turned and padded off into the shadows, his large frame disappearing down the quiet street.

The Cutest Thing - Sirius Black

₊‧⁺˖⋆ Masterlist ⋆˖⁺‧₊
Summary: When you visit the Marauders' dorm to ask Remus for help with your Charms homework, you're surprised to find a large black dog in the room.
⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆
You hurried through the hallways of Gryffindor Tower, clutching your Charms textbook and muttering to yourself. The essay Flitwick assigned was due tomorrow, and you were in desperate need of help. Luckily, Remus Lupin was your go-to for all things academic, and you figured he wouldn’t mind you dropping by the Marauders’ dorm.
When you reached their door, you knocked softly at first, then a bit louder when no one answered. From inside, you could hear what sounded like… barking? Frowning, you knocked again. Still no answer. The barking continued, frantic and insistent.
Worried something was wrong, you slowly pushed the door open.
“Hello? Remus?”
The scene that greeted you was not what you expected. Remus was sitting cross-legged on his bed, nose buried in a book. James was lounging on his bed, tossing a ball in the air, while Peter sat at the desk scribbling something on parchment. In the center of the room was a large, black dog pawing at Remus, barking as if trying to get his attention.
You froze in the doorway.
James noticed you first, the ball dropping to his chest with a thud. “When did you get here?”
You gestured at the dog. “Uh… whose dog is that?”
All three boys froze, exchanging a fleeting, panicked glance.
“Oh, him?” James said quickly, sitting up. “We, uh, found him outside. Poor thing was injured, so we brought him in to heal him up.”
Your heart melted instantly. “Oh, you poor thing!” You crouched down, extending a hand toward the dog. “C’mere, boy.”
The dog—who had been ignoring the boys entirely—turned to you immediately, tail wagging furiously. He sniffed your hand, then began licking it enthusiastically.
You laughed, scratching behind his ears. “You’re the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. And your fur is so soft!”
The dog leaned into your touch, practically vibrating with joy.
James cleared his throat. “Yeah, he’s, uh, a good boy. Aren’t you, boy?”
“What are you going to do with him after he’s healed?” you asked, looking up at the boys.
The dog let out a whine, nudging your hand with his nose.
“Not sure yet,” Remus said tightly, glaring at the dog as if it had personally insulted him. “Probably just let him back out where we found him.”
You frowned, running your fingers through the dog’s fur. “That’s so sad. I’ll miss you so much, boy.”
The dog whined louder, pressing his head into your lap.
James stood abruptly. “Well, it’s getting late! You should probably head back to your dorm now.”
You blinked. “It’s six o’clock?”
“Yep, still, you’ve got a big day tomorrow,” James said, ushering you toward the door.
“Alright, alright, I’m going,” you laughed, giving the dog one last scratch behind the ears. “Bye, cutie!”
The dog barked, wagging his tail so hard it thumped against the bedpost.
The moment the door closed behind you, Remus rounded on the dog.
“Change back, now.”
With a shimmer of fur and a crack, Sirius Black stood in the middle of the room, his trademark smirk firmly in place.
“Did you hear her?” he asked, looking positively delighted. “She said I was the cutest!”
Peter groaned, dropping his head into his hands.
Remus scowled. “You’re insufferable.”
“I can’t help it,” Sirius said, throwing himself onto James’s bed dramatically. “I’ve got the charm—both human and canine.”
James rolled his eyes. “Just don’t get too comfortable, Pads. She’ll find out eventually.”
“And when she does,” Sirius said, grinning like a maniac, “she’ll already think I’m adorable.”

Collateral Damage; James Potter
f!reader x james potter
summary: When someone makes a sexist comment during Quidditch practice and James doesn't react, how will it go down?
warnings/notes: james is kind of an idiot in this (he makes up for it I swear), angst, reader is a quidditch player (its relevant to the plot), use of y/n, platonic!sirius x reader banter, not proofread, light sexist comment, big argument, curse words, happy ending (?)
word count:1.6k

It started like any other Gryffindor Quidditch practice.
Late autumn sun low in the sky, golden light spilling like spilled ink over the pitch. You were already irritated — Kendrick had been pushing your buttons all week, and James had rescheduled this practice twice. Now you were all out here, winds whipping across the field, and Kendrick was smirking like he’d already won something you didn’t know was up for grabs.
You were Keeper. You knew your job. You didn’t need James yelling plays every five seconds like you were a first-year.
“Move left faster next time!” James barked, flying alongside you, too close, too sharp.
“I did move,” you snapped. “If you wanted a puppet, maybe train one.”
His jaw clenched. “I’m just trying to win us the Cup.”
“And I’m trying not to murder you midair, so we all have our battles.”
That got a low chuckle from Henry Wood, who hovered nearby, eyebrows lifted in mild amusement. “Might let her win that one, James.”
James didn’t answer. Just blew the whistle and shouted another drill.
You tightened your gloves, seething.
Then Kendrick happened.
He caught a Quaffle with a dramatic flourish, zoomed past you, and crowed, loud enough for half the school to hear: “Don’t worry, Potter — she’s not here for skill. Just here to look pretty while she misses every shot.”
The world snapped sideways.
You felt your stomach bottom out. Your face went hot with rage and shame.
You looked at James. Straight at him. Waiting.
Do something.
Say something.
Anything.
But he just hovered there, like an idiot, mouth slightly open, like he was stunned. Like maybe he agreed.
Sirius was the one who snapped.
“Oi, what the fuck did you just say?” Sirius growled, flying toward Kendrick like a storm cloud. “Wanna say it again with a mouthful of teeth missing?”
Y/N’s blood boiled. She waited — waited — for James to speak up. To say something. To tell the boy off. To take her side. But instead, James just stared at her, expression unreadable, jaw locked.
The silence screamed.
Y/N turned sharply on her broom, face burning hotter than any firewhisky. “Nice, James. Real leadership. Keeping the team united and all that.”
You flew hard toward the ground, ripped your gloves off, and stormed off the pitch.
“Oi! Y/N!” James shouted after you.
You turned sharply, fists clenched. “Don’t you dare.”
He landed, brows drawn. “It was just a stupid joke. I didn’t say it—”
“No. You just let it hang in the air like it was okay.” Your voice was shaking now, hands trembling. “You let him undermine me, and you—God, James—you didn’t even flinch.”
He flinched now.
“Y/N—”
“We’re supposed to be a team. You’re supposed to be my friend—and you let that little coward humiliate me in front of everyone.”
“I didn’t mean—”
“You didn’t do anything. And that’s worse.”
The rest of the team hovered awkwardly above, pretending not to watch. They were watching.
You turned, boots crunching against the grass, heart pounding against the ribcage of something that had already shattered.
..
You didn’t show up to dinner.
Didn’t go to class the next morning.
You lay facedown on your bed, ignoring Marlene’s muttered curses about Kendrick, Dorcas’s offers to hex him into oblivion, and Lily’s gentle hand rubbing your back.
You didn’t cry. Not then.
Maybe you were being dramatic. You can't help the fact you like to be alone. It may sound kind of sad, but that's just what you seem to know.
Not until everyone was asleep. When the candles were low. When the ache behind your ribs bloomed into something hollow and hot and silent.
You curled into yourself and whispered, “I thought he was different.”
No one heard it. But you felt it. And it felt like mourning something no one else could see.
..
Somewhere down the hallway, in the staff room,
McGonagall sipped her tea, eyes sharp over her glasses.
Flitwick looked up from his notes. “You heard?”
“Everyone heard, Filius. Half the pitch did.” She sighed. “I had twenty Galleons on them confessing by winter break.”
“Potter just set the bet back three years,” Hooch muttered, slamming her broom catalog shut.
“I’m raising it to five,” Sprout said darkly.
Slughorn just sniffed. “They’ll come around. Youth and heartbreak are so poetically intertwined.”
“She nearly punched him.”
“Poetry!” Slughorn said, grinning.
..
James tried everything.
Flowers charmed to float outside your dorm window.
Notes spelled into the condensation on your bathroom mirror.
He asked Sirius to talk to you — Sirius told him to shove it. “You blew it, mate.”
He asked Lily to help — she didn’t even blink. “You don’t deserve her silence. You deserve her rage.”
He cornered Dorcas outside Potions.
“She doesn’t want your excuses,” she said flatly. “She wants her best friend back. Too bad he forgot how to be one.”
He stopped going to Quidditch practice.
He barely slept.
He’d lie awake whispering, “I’m sorry,” to the cracks in the ceiling.
But nothing worked.
You didn’t speak to him.
Not once.
..
It happened at breakfast.
The Great Hall buzzing, laughter rising like steam.
You were sitting with Lily and Dorcas, quietly spooning porridge, when a loud bang echoed through the room.
A chair scraped back.
A foot on a bench.
Then a foot on the table.
Your head snapped up.
James Potter was standing on the Gryffindor table, toast in one hand, wand in the other, looking deranged.
Oh hell-to-the-no.
“Excuse me!” he shouted.
The Hall went silent.
James turned, slowly, facing the end of the table. “Oi, Kendrick.”
Kendrick looked up, confused. “What?”
“You insulted one of the best Keepers this school has ever seen. You made a disgusting, sexist remark in front of her entire team, and I, being a bloody coward, said nothing.”
Students gasped. Someone dropped their fork.
James turned, facing you now.
“I didn’t defend you. And I should have. Not because I’m your captain. Not even because I’m your best friend.”
His voice cracked.
“But because I love you.”
The air went still.
“I love you,” he said again, softer. “And not in the way that fades when we graduate or when Quidditch ends or when you find someone smarter or funnier or less of a prat. I love you like I can’t breathe right without you.”
You stared at him, pulse pounding in your ears.
What in Merlin's ear wax is happening right now.
“I know I messed up. I’ll spend the rest of the year earning your trust back. Or the rest of my life. Just… say something. Please.”
Kendrick stood, starting to protest.
James rounded on him.
“And you—I don’t want you on the team. You don’t get to wear our colors if you can’t respect the people on it.”
Hooch stood from the staff table, clearly impressed. “He’s finally learning.”
McGonagall muttered, “Took long enough.”
Sirius leaned into Remus. “Do I owe you five Galleons or do I still win if they snog in the next ten minutes?”
Remus just shook his head, smiling.
You stood slowly.
Walked down the aisle of the hall, every eye on you.
James looked terrified.
You walked right up to him.
Stared.
Then said, “You better mean every word of that.”
“I do.”
You smirked.
And punched him in the arm. Hard.
“Good.”
James was willing to wait this and 3 more lifetimes waiting for a taste of your lips.
..
The next morning was crisp and bright, with clouds like ripped cotton and the scent of cut grass thick in the air.
James was already waiting on the pitch when you arrived, broom slung over his shoulder, a sheepish sort of energy radiating off him in waves. The rest of the team trickled in slowly—clearly curious, clearly eavesdropping, pretending to stretch while absolutely not stretching.
You walked past them without a word.
James straightened up.
You raised your chin. “You’re on goalkeeping today. I want a challenge.”
He blinked. “You… want me to—”
“Let’s go, Potter,” you called, already kicking off.
It was easy, natural, the way flying always was. But the air between you buzzed. You hurled a Quaffle at him with more force than necessary. He barely caught it, laughing under his breath.
“Still angry?”
You smirked. “I haven’t decided yet.”
Another Quaffle. Another dive. He missed this one—on purpose, you were sure.
“Oi, don’t go easy on me,” you snapped.
He swooped beside you, hovering a little too close. “Wouldn’t dream of it.”
“You’re dreaming something,” you muttered.
“Mostly about you.” he grinned.
You snorted, the sound catching you off guard. The wind rushed past your ears. His eyes were warm—so warm you had to look away.
For a few minutes, you played without words.
Until James broke the silence.
“I meant it, you know. Every word I said yesterday. I—” He trailed off, rubbing the back of his neck. “I was a coward. And I know one speech doesn’t fix it.”
You hovered in the air, just a little above him. “It doesn’t. But showing up helps.”
He smiled—wide and crooked and boyish.
The team was still watching. Pretending not to, but watching all the same.
James shifted closer. His eyes flicked to your mouth, then back up to your eyes.
“I, uh…” He licked his lips, then leaned in—hesitantly, unsure.
You didn’t move. Just watched him.
But instead of kissing you, his lips brushed your cheek—light as a sigh.
He pulled back instantly, eyes wide like he hadn’t meant to.
You blinked.
James looked like he might combust.
“Sorry, I—I didn’t want to assume, I mean—not yet, but—unless you want to, which, I—”
You raised an eyebrow. “You always ramble this much?”
He flushed. “Only when I like someone enough to completely embarrass myself.”
You turned back toward the goalposts, heart thudding.
“Try not to let that Quaffle in this time, Potter.”
He grinned, dazed. “Yes, ma’am.”

My Fuzzy little Problem
summery : Somehow your boyfriend roped you into becoming an animagi alongside the marauders. And now you can't get enough of your Animagus form. You find it extremely comforting So you often like to hangout in your Animagus form.
James Potter x Reader
Warnings: Pure fluff.
You love roaming around in your animagus form, honestly a bit too much. And usually James is incharge while you turn into the furry little cuteness. And it's become so normal that the students at Hogwarts has started to believe that James has a little furry cat as his pet.
You're always sitting on his shoulder or sometimes even on the top of his head, apparently you find his unruly hair fluffy and comfortable. A lot of time you make him wear his hoodie backwards and just hang around in the hood and rub your little nose against his chin.
James also finds it extremely comforting when all you want to do is snuggle with him. He loves to cuddle up to you after his quidditch matches in your normal human body but sometimes when he wakes up he finds that you had shifted into your animagus form and had curled up on his chest emitting loud purrs in your sleep.
He would simply smile down at your cute kitten face and just hold you close to his chest, his extremely soft hoodie cuddling you closer as you wake up with a big yawn because of the little shift in his body.
Even when James is roaming around the black forest in his animagus form, you love to sit on the back of the elegant stag and explore the forest with your curious eyes, meowing when you see something interesting. And after a while Prongs would sit you both down under a large tree on top of a cliff that you both found one day, while strutting around the forest lands, as you played with his giant magnificent antlers. Climbing up on them or finding a perfect curve to hang between or just tap them with your fuzzy little paw. Prongs would bring his head down to lay on the ground and you'd gently walk up to him and boop or lick his snoot in affection as he looked unimaginably adorable with that innocent deer-like face and big brown doe eyes.
Today, was just another day for you. Though for James, it wasn't. It was Friday, meaning his quidditch practice. And as the year was nearing its end, the quidditch cup stood in the schedules of all students. Your finals had been completed, it was the last week before the summer holidays. James was working his arse off as the captain of the gryffindor quidditch team. He wanted to make sure that this year he will be the one bearing the quidditch cup in his hands. He wanted needed to feel that pride as he held the quidditch cup in the air, while looking at the beaming smile on your face as you sported a prideful glint in your eyes and gazed up at him.
But today maybe he had pushed his limits. He was exhausted and could barely move. All he wanted was to go back to his dorm and cuddle up to you.
While James was contemplating his life choices in his quidditch locker room. You were in need of a warm cozy Friday evening. After all you had worked very hard for last whole month preparing for your finals.
You entered James' dorm, knowing you won't find him there. So, you changed into your animagus form and entered his dorm.
At first you thought there was no one in the dorm present. But then you looked over at Rem's bed and saw him snuggled up against fuzzy blanket in his big sweater, his head tucked soundlessly in the fluffy pillow. You were best friends with marauders before you and James became a thing. So, it was normal for you to cuddle up to one of them. You decided that Remus' bed looked way much more cozy than James' as for now. So you made your way towards it.
You jumped up and landed right next to the sleeping Wolf's hand. You wiggled your way between his arms and he woke up slightly by the feeling of something shifting against him.
"Oh hi there." He mumbled sleepily as he shifted you in a more comfortable position and scratched lightly behind your ears and soon you were lulled to sleep.
An hour or so later you were woken up by a loud slam of door. Your body jerked in fear as you had been woken up very rudely by your boyfriend.
"Sorry, didn't know you were sleeping. But my hands are full..." James offered a sheepish smile as he set his broom and quidditch kit down.
You immediately hopped off Remus' bed and jumped on James as he sat down on his own bed for a while. He smiled down at you tiredly.
"Hey there, my fuzzy little problem." You meowed disapprovingly at that name. James chuckled, seeing the little scowl on your face.
"Alright. I won't call you that." He put his hands up in surrender as you showed off your claws.
James patted your head for a while and chatted with Remus about his new book. After a while he sat you down on his bed and giggled as you let out another disapproving meow.
"Sorry, bub. But I really have to take a shower and then we can cuddle, Kay?" As James went inside as you heard clomping of paws running towards you. Looked at the door and saw an overly excited black dog run up to you.
He looked up at you and you booped his snoot with your paw. He tried his fake attempts to clamp at your little paw and in return you smacked him on his head. It was yours and Sirius' way to say hello. James and Remus often found it weird but thought it was adorable none the less.
Padfoot soon went away and settled himself on Remus' bed as Remus scratched his belly and gave him patts.
By the time James returned you were curled up on his bed and Remus was cuddling with Padfoot and both had already fallen asleep.
James gently picked you up in his arms like a baby and you rested your head on his shoulder as he pulled out some blankets and pillows. After he was done, he laid you both down on the bed and you nuzzled your head in his biceps.
"Darling, can you turn back. I really need you to hold me. I'm tired." He mumbled. His lips pouted and his eyes were barely staying open. You turned back into your human form without missing a beat.
You quickly took James in your arms and laid his head on your chest as you gently ran your fingers through his curly hair, peppering kisses on his forehead.
As you gently rubbed your hand from the nape of his neck down to his shoulders you felt his breathing slow down and you looked down at him to see he was fast asleep with his head buried in your breasts wearing the most adorable look on his face as he exhaled slowly out of the curve of his pink lips.
And just looking at his sleeping form, you knew you were in complete love with this man. He was everything you ever wanted, everything you ever needed.
"I love you." You couldn't help but whisper to him. And what you didn't expect was the lazy smile gracing his lips as he nuzzled further unconsciously in your chest.

Part 3 (finale) uploaded!
Part 1 and Part 3
————————————X————————————
You woke up to the sound of your dorm mates bubbling over today’s quidditch match. Your head was throbbing with pain; you barely got any sleep last night. Then it all came crashing back to you, the late night stroll that lead to your kiss with James Potter. Bloody hell. Did it really happen? Or was it just an extremely vivid dream. Dubious about the accuracy of your memory, you got up and quickly got dressed , and headed to breakfast.
The great hall was filled with the chatter of excited students; they were all raving about today’s match. Gryffindor versus Slytherin. Well that explains the dung bombs last night.
Your palms were sweating with nerves, you were so not ready to see him yet.
Right on cue, you spotted James sitting with his friends, and stuffing his face with food.
“I’ve got to fuel up for the match. D’you think having this amazing body was easy?” James gloated coyly.
Your stomach filled with butterflies, how pathetic. There James was, an arrogant git, attacking his food like there was no tomorrow. Yet, you couldn’t help let out a small smile.
“Y/n!” James shouted across the hall.
Your face flushed red out of embarrassment. You tried looking away , but it was too late. James jogged over to you.
“Hey pretty.” He smirked.
“Hi.” You said plainly.
“So, today is the quidditch match. You coming to see me play?” He grinned.
“Uh… I don’t know. I’m not really a sports kinda person.” You told.
“Oh come on, just come to see the legendary James Potter in action, love.” He pleaded.
Merlin, how could someone be so obnoxious yet so charming.
“Tone it down a notch, ‘prongs’. “ You teased, making air quotes.
“I’ll see if I can come, i’ve got a lot of reading to catch up on.” You continued, walking away before he could reply.
The encounter left your stomach rumbling. Thanks to that idiot James, you couldn’t even think about keeping down any food right now.
You hated how James left you feeling. You didn’t like anticipating your face in a red flush, you didn’t like seeing double vision in a rose blush, and most of all, you didn’t like feeling vulnerable by the mere presence of someone, let alone a boy. A boy that half the school is in love with.
Going to the quidditch match was a bad idea, letting James in was a bad idea, it went against everything you told yourself from your very start of Hogwarts. Yet, you found yourself doing exactly that.
You decided you could spare a few minutes to watch the quidditch match. You gaslit yourself into believing you were going for the sake of ‘enjoying and learning the sport’, and not for James. You made your way into the Y/H stands, trying your best not to be noticed by the messy haired Gryffindor chaser. Although, you hardly doubted he would notice you from 50 feet above.
The match dragged on for 3 whole hours, and you were appalled by the fact that you stayed the whole duration. You watched a handful of matches your whole life, but this one, this one was different. It had something to do with the fact that, James was so effortlessly good at what he did.
Gryffindor won even though Slytherin’s seeker caught the snitch. They were leading by a 100 points, and James had thrown the quaffle into the hoop more than 20 times. Even you knew that the victory was mostly his doing. The Gryffindor team jumped off their brooms, and started jumping with excitement, adrenaline pumping through their veins. You wanted to congratulate James, it was the decent thing to do, right?
As you were walking up to the ground, a red headed girl beat you to him. She hugged him rather intimately, and placed a kiss on his cheek. Your stomach churned. Maybe it was the nausea from not eating or maybe it was seeing that girl being so close to James, you didn’t care. What were you doing? Coming to a quidditch match for the captain of the Gryffindor team? You didn’t expect him to notice you, then why were you so offended when he didn’t? Without thinking, you ran out the filed, wanting nothing more than to forget about the stupid match, the stupid kiss and stupid James fucking potter.
The following night in the library ,you were drowning in a pile of books, struggling to finish all your assignments.
“We need to stop running into each other like this.” A voice whispered into your ear from behind.
“Although, you seem to be more interested in running away from me than into me.” James continued. Well you’d be damned. He did in-fact notice you at the match.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” you mumbled, refusing to turn around and look at him.
“C’mon, love. Don’t be coy. Why did you run away like that? Still flustered after last night are we?” He pressed.
“Piss off, Potter.” You spat, trying to walk away.
“Wait! Don’t be like that. Do you want to talk about what happened last night, is that it?” He asked, gripping your wrist, stopping you from walking away.
“No. Clearly you’d rather talk to that red headed girl you were being so ‘friendly’ with earlier. I get it, the kiss was no big deal. It’s cool” You lied.
“No big deal? Ouch.” He said, removing a fake arrow from his heart.
“That red head earlier was Lily Evans. She’s my good mate. Trust me, you do NOT need to worry about Lily, plus I’m certain she’s got a thing for Snivellus.” James explained.
“Snivellus?” You questioned. What is up with him and these stupid nicknames?
“Long story. Anyway, why don’t you join me and the lads in the Gryffindor common room tonight. We’re celebrating the win.” Was James asking you to meet his friends tonight? No way. There was only one person you found more insufferable than James, Sirius freaking Black. He was obviously going to be there.
“Um- I- I have uh… errands-“ you tried to come up with an excuse but James cut you off.
“I’ll see you tonight.” He said, as he winked and disappeared into the dark.
A few hours after dinner, you reluctantly made your way into the Gryffindor common room. Everyone seemed to be asleep. The room was dimly lit, with cosy sofas arranged next to a roaring fire. You spotted James , Sirius, Remus , Peter, Lily and Marlene sprawled in front of the fire place.
You cleared your throat, making your presence aware.
“Y/n! You came!” James greeted, pulling you into a side hug.
After introducing you to the group, James insisted you sat right next to him on the sofa. At some point during the night, his hands found their way to the small of your back, tracing gentle circles on it. You didn’t want to admit it, but you were starting to enjoy yourself. But that didn’t last long.
Sirius insisted on playing a game of Truth or Dare, where he mostly targeted you. You managed to dodge most of the questions, which really pissed Sirius off.
“Ok. Fine. If you’re not going to answer any of the questions, Y/n, why is it that you have no friends? Why do you walk around alone and eat alone all the time like some depressed loser.” Sirius said bluntly.
Heat spread from your ears to your neck. Your face burned with embarrassment. That did it.
“Fuck off , Black.” You flipped him off , as you stormed out of the common room.
“What the hell, mate?” You heard James say.
You were walking so fast it could be considered running.
“Y/n, wait!” James called after you.
You tried to ignore him, but he caught up with you in the corridor because the stupid stair cases decided to move, again.
“Y/n…I’m so sorry. Ignore Sirius. He can be a real dick.” James said.
“Hey, look at me.” He tilted your head up to meet his eyes. They were filled with regret. He probably regretted calling you tonight. What was he thinking? Did he expect his friends to like you? In what world would that be true? You saw how they picked on people like you. How they bullied those different from them. Why did you expect anything else?
“What are you thinking?” James asked, brushing his thumb against your cheek. He was standing extremely close to you again. Practically hovering. Before you could answer, he pulls you in, locking his lips with yours. A sudden warmth spreads through your body. You close your eyes, the subtle pressure of his hands on your waist sending jolts of electricity down your spine. This was wrong. Stop. Pull away. You thought to yourself, but your body wouldn’t comply. You kissed him back with more aggression than you anticipated, running your fingers through his hair. After what felt like an eternity of pure heavenly bliss, James pulled away.
“Should we head back?” He asked.
Then you came back to your senses. Reality was a harsh slap in the face. Deal with it now, so you’re not left wretched later.
“I can’t ,James. I can’t do this. I don’t know what I was thinking. I thought I could handle your friends, the crowds and the constant attention your around. But, truth be told, I really can’t. It’s all too much for me. You’re too much for me…you’ll probably be fine, maybe even better off without me. This was a big mistake.” You said, gesturing between the two of you.
For the first time in history, James Potter was left speechless. His face was engulfed with hurt. You didn’t want to hurt him, but it was better him than you.

Dancing in The Rain

Sirius Black x f!reader
Summary: The rain was running down his messy hair, soaking his shirt collar, but he seemed completely oblivious to the cold. “Why did you stop? We’ll get cold,” you said. He smiled. “Let’s dance.” You blinked, surprised. “Dance?” “Yeah, dance.” He shrugged, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. “Here. Now.” And then, without breaking eye contact, he brought your hand to his lips. The kiss was gentle, almost a reverence. “Just dance with me,” he murmured against your skin.
Warnings: fluffy, no use of y/n, est relationship, sirius being a hopeless romantic
The storm was falling hard on the Hogwarts grounds, the water soaking the grass beneath your feet and the heavy sky tinted gray. You had just finished your Magizoology class, and the walk back to the castle seemed endless under the rain. Sirius was running ahead, his black hair stuck to his face, and every now and then he glanced over his shoulder to make sure you were following him. You weren’t as fast as he was, but he didn’t seem to care, the teasing smile on his lips as if he were enjoying the situation.
"Come on, faster!" he shouted above the sound of the rain, his voice full of something impossible to ignore.
Your heart was pounding, both from the running and the intensity that always came with Sirius. You were trying to focus on putting one foot in front of the other, but he was impossible to ignore. He always had been. It was as if he knew exactly what he did to you – the way he looked at you, his laid-back and charming demeanor, the laugh that carried promises. And even now, when you were completely drenched and out of breath, Sirius could pull out that shy nervousness from you that only he could provoke.
Suddenly, he stopped running, spinning around to face you. Before you could understand what was happening, he grabbed your hand and pulled you off the path, into a clearing surrounded by trees swaying in the wind.
“Sirius, what—?”
He didn’t answer immediately, his gray eyes locked on yours, glowing with something almost untamable. The rain was running down his messy hair, soaking his shirt collar, but he seemed completely oblivious to the cold.
“Why did you stop? We’ll get cold,” you said, trying to sound firm, but your voice came out softer than you intended.
He smiled, the corner of his mouth curving upward. “Let’s dance.”
The words hung between you. You blinked, surprised. “Dance?”
“Yeah, dance.” He shrugged, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. “Here. Now.”
For a moment, you thought he was just joking – typical Sirius. But there was something in his eyes that contradicted the teasing. Something genuine.
And then you remembered.
Weeks ago, you were sitting by the Black Lake, and you mentioned one of the books Remus had lent you. In it, a couple danced in the rain, and you had said – not thinking much about it – that you thought it was one of the most romantic things you had ever read. You didn’t think Sirius was really paying attention, but now... now he was here, in the middle of a storm, asking you to dance with him.
“Sirius...” Your voice came out soft, almost breathless.
He didn’t say anything more. He just extended his hand. And, as always, you trusted him.
His fingers intertwined with yours, firm and steady, despite the rain running between your palms. You were panting from the run, and the cold of the storm seemed to disappear under the warmth of his touch. Sirius pulled you closer, with an ease that seemed almost careless, but his gaze... there was an intensity there, something that burned through the storm.
He paused, his gray eyes fixed on yours, as if he were trying to memorize every detail of the moment. And then, without breaking eye contact, he brought your hand to his lips. The kiss was gentle, almost a reverence. But the gesture, small and silent, carried a weight that you felt down to your bones.
A sigh escaped you before you could stop it. There were so many things you wanted to say, but he always knew exactly how to leave you speechless.
“Just dance with me,” he murmured against your skin, his voice low and hoarse, full of silent promises.
And you danced.
His hand found the curve of your waist, his fingers drawing gentle circles over the wet fabric of your clothes. He was close – so close that you could feel his breath mixing with yours, the familiar and unique scent of Sirius blending with the rain. Each movement was guided with a precision that seemed natural for him, an elegance that came from years of an education he rejected, but now he was using it for you.
He spun you slowly, as if he wanted to show that the whole world could disappear and he would still hold you. The steps were slow, almost lazy, but there was an implicit devotion in each of them.
The rain kept falling, but all you felt was Sirius – his warmth, the comfortable weight of his hand, the gaze that never left yours. He didn’t need to say anything for you to know. Every touch spoke for itself.
You closed your eyes for a moment, letting him guide you, the overwhelming feeling of being there, of being his. When you opened them again, he was smiling. Not the teasing, laid-back smile he showed the rest of the world, but something softer. More real.
“Do you think I’m trying too hard?” he asked, with that tone that was half teasing, half something deeper.
You felt the heat rise to your face, but found the courage to reply. “You always try hard.”
He let out a low laugh, the sound reverberating between you. “Only with you.”
Before you could react, he pulled you closer. His hand rose to your face, his fingers gently tracing the line of your jaw. It was such an intimate touch, so absurdly caring, that your heart almost stopped.
“You know what’s devastating?” he asked, his tone softer now, almost a whisper.
“What?” you could barely breathe.
“That I never knew what this was. Until you.”
The confession hung in the air, raw and sincere. Sirius Black, the boy everyone thought couldn’t be tamed, was now here, completely yours. His gaze carried all the intensity of someone who had never been loved the right way, but was now trying – desperately – to show he was learning.
Without thinking, you leaned in to him. Sirius’s lips met yours, and the kiss was as devastating as everything he was. Soft at first, but soon full of something deeper, something overflowing from what you both felt. There was no more rain, no more cold, no world around you. Just you two.
When you finally pulled apart, he rested his forehead against yours, his eyes closed, as if he wanted to prolong that moment for as long as possible. His breath was warm against your cold skin, and the silence that settled between you seemed louder than the storm itself.
“If I could, I’d freeze time here,” he murmured, with an honesty almost palpable.
You felt your heart tighten. There was a vulnerability in Sirius that he rarely showed – a side that the world didn’t see.
He pulled back just enough to look at you. His gray eyes were shining, even under the overcast sky, carrying all the weight of the things he couldn’t say. With a slow, almost reverent gesture, he brushed a wet strand of hair from your cheek. His fingers paused for a moment, tracing the outline of your face, as if each touch was a silent promise.
“You always do this,” you said, your voice almost inaudible but full of emotion.
“Do what?”
“Look at me like that.”
His smile was slow, almost lazy, but there was something sharp behind it. “I can’t help it. It’s your fault.”
“My fault?”
“You should know what you do to me.” His voice dropped, hoarse and soft in a way only Sirius could manage. It was the kind of tone that made your heart race and the air around you grow heavy.
The hand that had been on your face slid slowly to the back of your neck, his fingers playing with the wet strands of your hair. You could feel his warmth radiating, even with the rain still falling. It was so Sirius – a mix of raw intensity and genuine affection.
He leaned in a little more, his lips almost touching your temple. “You know what makes me lose control?”
You swallowed hard, unable to move. “What?”
“That you don’t realize how much you’re my anchor.”
The confession fell between you like thunder. There was no charm or teasing in it. Only raw truth.
The way he said it – like it was both a promise and a declaration of love at the same time – made the ground seem unsteady for a second. Sirius had a way of making you feel like the whole world was concentrated in that one moment, that one exchange of glances.
He lowered his head, his lips hovering dangerously close to the curve of your ear. “But just to make sure you don’t get sick…” The hand on your waist slid gently to the curve of your back, pulling you closer. The touch was both comforting and slightly provocative – the kind of gesture Sirius made without even realizing, but it always left your heart racing.
“Let’s go back,” he continued, his voice full of warmth and the teasing humor that was so characteristic of him. “The idea of dancing in the rain is romantic, but the idea of you with a fever, not so much.”
“And your cold?” you asked, raising an eyebrow.
Sirius grinned, that smile that always seemed a little challenging. “I’m Sirius Black. Nothing takes me down that easily.”
But even as he spoke, his fingers were still on you, as if he didn’t want to let go. There was a conflict in his eyes – between the desire to stay there forever and the need to protect you from the cold. Finally, he sighed and pulled away, but only enough to hold your hand again.
“Come on,” he said, squeezing your fingers between his.
You started walking back to the castle, but Sirius’s steps were slow, as if he wanted to prolong the moment for as long as possible. Every now and then, he glanced back at you over his shoulder, that soft gleam in his eyes that was only his.
When the castle came into view, he stopped once more. You felt the rain running down your skin, but you didn’t mind. Sirius turned to you, raising your hand to kiss it again, this time slower, as if sealing all the unsaid promises between you.
“If I had to dance in the rain every day to see you smile like that...” He left the sentence unfinished, but you knew exactly what he meant.
“Thank you for remembering,” you whispered, your heart overflowing with a love that was almost impossible to contain.
Sirius smiled, the kind of smile that lit up even the grayest days. “I’ll always remember.”
And with your fingers intertwined, you ran together toward the castle, leaving the rain and the world behind.

The Announcement
sirius black x reader - the announcement
word count: 3.5k
summary: y/n and sirius visit the potter’s and lily has an announcement for everyone
warnings: shameless sirius bc that’s my favorite sirius
a/n: i thought i was going to write more of this but i lost interest lol… figured i would go ahead and post it
The crisp December air carried a sharp bite as Y/N and Sirius made their way up the winding path to the Potters’ home. Snow blanketed the ground, glistening under the soft glow of the streetlamps. The house ahead was warm and inviting, its windows glowing with golden light and the faint sound of laughter drifting out into the cold night.
“We’re late,” Y/N pointed out, her tone laced with mock disapproval.
“Are we?” Sirius quipped, feigning surprise as he tightened his grip on her hand. “I hadn’t noticed.”
Y/N gave him a light shove, her laughter echoing into the quiet night. “James is going to give us hell for this, isn’t he?”
“Absolutely. But let him,” Sirius said with a shrug. “He’s just jealous because Lily never looks at him the way you look at me.”
Y/N rolled her eyes but couldn’t stop the warmth that bloomed in her chest. “You’re ridiculous.”
“And yet, here you are,” Sirius quipped, the smirk never leaving his face.
“Hang on a second,” he murmured, his voice dropping into a softer, more serious tone.
Y/N turned to face him, her brow furrowing slightly. “What is it?”
“Nothing,” he said softly, his gray eyes locking onto hers. His free hand slid around her waist, pulling her closer. “I just need a moment with you before we go in there.”
Y/N raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile playing on her lips. “A moment for what?”
“For this,” Sirius murmured.
He leaned down, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, lingering kiss. Sirius deepened the kiss, his fingers tightening slightly on her waist as though anchoring her to him.
When he finally pulled back, his forehead rested lightly against hers, their breaths mingling in the cold night air.
“You look absolutely stunning tonight, doll,” he whispered, his voice low and earnest. His gray eyes searched hers, filled with unbridled adoration. “Almost too good for them, really. Maybe we should skip dinner and stay home.”
Y/N blinked, her cheeks warming despite the chill. Sirius had a way of saying things that made her feel like the center of the universe, even in the most ordinary moments. “Sirius—” she started, but he cut her off with a playful grin.
“I’m serious.”
She groaned, playfully pushing him away. “You ruin everything, you know that?”
“Never,” he shot back, “Now we’re late enough to make an entrance.”
Y/N let out a breathless laugh, shaking her head at him. “You’re impossible.”
“And yet—”
“Here I am,” she finished for him, smiling despite herself.
Sirius grinned, clearly pleased with himself, and pressed a quick kiss to her forehead before stepping back. “Come on, doll. Let’s go let Prongs and Lily know we’ve graced them with our presence.”
Y/N rolled her eyes but followed him up the last few steps to the door, her heart still racing from the kiss.
As Sirius reached for the door, it swung open suddenly, revealing James’s grinning face.
“Well, well, look who finally decided to show up!” James said, leaning casually against the doorframe.
Sirius grinned back, unfazed. “We’re still the best part of your evening.”
“Debatable,” James shot back, though his tone was light. His eyes shifted to Y/N, his grin softening. “Y/N, you’re looking lovely tonight. Too lovely for this git, if you ask me.”
Y/N laughed, stepping forward to give him a quick hug. “Thanks, James.”
“Oi,” Sirius protested, though his grin suggested he wasn’t actually offended.
Lily appeared behind James, her expression softening as she saw Y/N. “It’s about time you two got here. Come in, come in—it’s freezing out there.”
She stepped aside to let them in, and Y/N couldn’t help but sigh in contentment as the warmth of the house enveloped her. The smell of roasting meat and fresh bread filled the air.
“Dinner will be ready in about half an hour,” Lily said, closing the door behind them. “James, take their coats.”
James groaned dramatically. “Why do I always have to play coat rack?”
“Because you’re closer to the door,” Lily said matter-of-factly, giving him a look that dared him to argue.
With a resigned sigh, James took their coats, hanging them neatly on the rack by the door.
Y/N glanced over at Sirius, who gave her a small wink before guiding her toward the living room.
The Potter’s living room was as warm and inviting as the rest of the house, with mismatched furniture that somehow worked perfectly together.
Remus and Peter were already seated, deep in conversation. Remus lounged on the sofa, looking as relaxed as ever, while Peter sat in the armchair closest to the fire, rubbing his hands together for warmth.
“About time you two made it,” Remus said, his tone teasing as he looked up at Sirius and Y/N.
“Fashionably late,” Sirius corrected, releasing Y/N’s hand only to guide her toward the center of the room. “It’s a fine art.”
“It’s a fine excuse,” Peter quipped, earning a chuckle from Remus.
James flopped onto the sofa beside Remus.
“Look, the important thing is we’re here now,” Sirius said, unbothered as he dropped into a large armchair with an exaggerated sigh. He stretched his legs out in front of him, looking every bit as comfortable as if he owned the place.
He glanced up at Y/N, his gray eyes glinting with mischief. He patted his knee with an inviting grin. “Come here, love.”
Y/N rolled her eyes but stepped closer, letting Sirius tug her onto his lap. The chair was plenty big enough for the two of them, but Sirius’s hold was firm as he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close.
“Much better,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to her shoulder.
“You’re shameless,” she said lightly, though the corners of her mouth betrayed a small smile.
“Absolutely,” Sirius replied, nuzzling the side of her neck.
Peter snorted from his seat by the fire. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so attached to another person.”
“Don’t encourage him,” Y/N said, shooting Peter a playful glare.
But Sirius, undeterred, tightened his hold on her. “Why not? It’s true.”
“Here we go,” James said. He gestured towards Sirius, “Two minutes in and he’s already making us all look bad.”
“It’s a gift,” Sirius replied smoothly, resting his chin on Y/N’s shoulder.
“Or a curse,” Remus muttered, though his tone was light.
Lily joined them a moment later, pausing in the doorway with a small smile. “Y/N, those earrings are gorgeous,” she said, motioning toward the gold and pearl earrings Y/N was wearing.
Y/N reached up to touch one of them, a bashful smile spreading across her face. “Thank you, Lily. Sirius got them for me.”
“Of course he did,” Remus said with a smirk. “Anything to keep her around, eh?”
Sirius raised an eyebrow, feigning offense. “Oi, I don’t need bribery. My natural charm does the trick.”
Remus rolled his eyes. “Whatever helps you sleep at night, Pads.”
James, who had been lounging on the sofa, leaned forward with a grin. “Speaking of keeping her around…” He tilted his head toward Sirius. “When are you going to get her a ring, mate?”
Y/N felt her cheeks flush instantly. She glanced down at her hands, suddenly very interested in the stitching on Sirius’s jacket.
Sirius, however, didn’t miss a beat. He chuckled, brushing a kiss against her cheek before addressing James. “What’s the rush, Prongs? She’s not going anywhere.”
“Careful,” James warned, wagging a finger at him. “Wait too long and she might start looking for better options.”
“Unlikely,” Sirius said confidently, his gray eyes sparkling with amusement.
“All right, all right,” Lily interjected, taking pity on Y/N. “Leave them alone, James.”
James threw up his hands in surrender. “Fine, but you’re all witnesses—I tried.”
The conversation shifted after that, moving into lighthearted discussions about work and the latest ridiculous thing James had done. Sirius kept his arms around Y/N the entire time, occasionally brushing his lips against her shoulder or murmuring small comments that made her laugh.

“All right, dinner’s ready,” Lily reappeared in the doorway. “Come on, everyone, let’s head to the table before James eats everything in sight.”
“I’m only having what I deserve,” James protested dramatically.
Everyone stood, stretching and making their way toward the dining room.
The dining room was just as inviting as the living room. The long wooden table was set with mismatched plates and silverware, and a hearty spread of food covered nearly every inch of its surface. Roast beef, golden potatoes, roasted vegetables, warm bread rolls, and a rich gravy were just a few of the dishes vying for attention.
Lily beamed as everyone took their seats, clearly pleased with the results of her hard work. “All right, dig in,” she said, taking her place at the head of the table beside James.
Sirius pulled out a chair for Y/N, letting his hand linger on her lower back as she sat. He took the seat beside her, his knee brushing against hers under the table.
“You’ve outdone yourself, Lily,” Remus said, eyeing the spread appreciatively. “This looks incredible.”
“It smells incredible,” Peter added, already reaching for the nearest dish.
Lily waved off the compliments, though the pink in her cheeks betrayed her pleasure. “It’s nothing fancy. Just a little something to keep you all fed.”
“More than a little,” Y/N said, smiling at her. “Thank you for having us, Lily.”
“Of course,” Lily said, her expression softening. “You’re always welcome here.”
As plates were filled and drinks poured, the conversation flowed easily. The group reminisced about their Hogwarts days, trading stories of pranks, late-night adventures, and the occasional moment of chaos.
“Do you remember the time we tried to sneak into the kitchen for extra pumpkin pasties?” James asked, pointing his fork at Sirius. “And you tripped over Filch’s cat?”
“That was not my fault,” Sirius said indignantly. “The damn thing came out of nowhere.”
“It came out of the shadows like some kind of demon,” Peter added, his eyes wide with mock horror.
“Exactly,” Sirius said, gesturing at Peter. “Thank you. At least someone remembers it correctly.”
Y/N laughed, her hand resting on Sirius’s arm as she leaned closer. “So, what did you do?”
“Ran for our lives,” Remus said dryly.
“Not before James screamed like a banshee,” Sirius added, earning a glare from his best friend.
“I did not!” James protested.
“You absolutely did,” Lily said, her tone matter-of-fact as she sipped her water.
The table erupted into laughter, and even James couldn’t hold back a smile.
Sirius turned to Y/N, his gray eyes sparkling with amusement. “See what I had to deal with?”
“Must’ve been a nightmare,” Y/N said, her tone teasing.
“Every day,” Sirius replied, though the affection in his voice was unmistakable.
As the meal went on, Sirius’s hand found its way to Y/N’s again, his thumb brushing lightly over her knuckles. It was a small gesture, but it sent warmth coursing through her.
The sound of clinking glasses and cheerful chatter filled the room as the plates slowly emptied. Lily beamed every time someone complimented her cooking, while James pretended to take credit for the meal, earning playful swats from his wife.
“I have to admit,” Remus said, leaning back in his chair, “this might be the best meal I’ve had in months.”
“Agreed,” Peter said, nodding. “You’ve spoiled us, Lily.”
“I’ll take that as a compliment,” Lily said with a smile.
James stood abruptly, raising his glass. “A toast,” he declared, his voice cutting through the din.
Everyone paused, their attention turning to him.
“To good friends, good food, and the best damn family anyone could ask for,” James said, his grin wide and sincere.
“Hear, hear,” Sirius said, raising his glass as the rest of the group followed suit.
"Now," he said, his voice carrying with a self-importance that immediately set the tone for whatever was coming. "It's time we all acknowledge that life is changing. Things are shifting, and, well... we need to embrace it.
Sirius, clearly anticipating James's theatrics, smirked but didn't say anything. Y/N, sitting next to him, exchanged an amused glance with Remus, who seemed just as familiar with this routine.
“Let’s get to the real reason we’re all gathered here tonight." James gave a dramatic pause, looking around the table, catching everyone’s eyes before finally turning to Lily, who was sitting beside him with a knowing smile. "Lily," he said, his voice lowering slightly with a playful solemnity. "The floor is yours."
Lily, with a soft but radiant smile, placed her hand on her belly. She met James’s gaze with an expression filled with both love and excitement. For a moment, the room seemed to hold its breath, waiting for her to speak.
"I think," Lily began, her voice warm and steady, "that it’s time we share something with all of you."
Y/N felt a flutter of anticipation in her chest as she looked between James and Lily. Her eyes lingered on Lily’s hand resting on her stomach, a subtle hint that something was coming.
"We’ve been waiting for the right moment," Lily continued, her smile widening as she finally let the news slip. "And well, the right moment is now."
She paused, letting the words settle in before adding, "James and I are expecting."
There was a collective gasp around the table. Y/N’s heart skipped a beat, and her eyes went wide as she processed the announcement. The room erupted into excited chatter, everyone speaking over each other in joy and disbelief.
"Bloody hell!" Sirius exclaimed, standing quickly from his chair and striding over to James. He clapped him on the back with a force that nearly sent James stumbling forward. "You're going to be a father!" he laughed, his voice thick with pride and something softer—something more emotional.
James chuckled, clearly overwhelmed but thrilled. "Can you believe it?" he said, his voice catching slightly. He glanced at Lily, who was looking at him with a smile that said everything.
Y/N, still in a state of shock and joy, stood up quickly. She moved toward Lily, her heart full as she threw her arms around her. "Lily, that’s amazing!" she exclaimed, her voice cracking slightly with emotion. "I’m so happy for you both!"
Lily hugged her back just as fiercely, her laughter bubbling up. "Thank you, Y/N," she said softly, pulling away to look her in the eye. "I couldn’t wait to tell you. It feels so right, all of this."
Tears pricked at the corners of Y/N’s eyes, but she blinked them away, grinning from ear to ear. She glanced over her shoulder to see Sirius, who had returned to his seat, his own eyes slightly misty.
"I swear, mate," Sirius said, his voice a little hoarse, though his grin was as wide as ever, "I never thought I’d see the day when you’d be the one in this situation. You’re going to be a bloody brilliant dad."
James laughed, but there was a definite softness in his eyes, "I’m terrified, to be honest," he admitted, his tone vulnerable for a split second. "But I couldn’t be more excited."
Y/N moved back to her seat, smiling as she looked around at the joy-filled faces of her friends. This moment felt monumental, like a new chapter had begun, one full of hope and love.
Sirius’s eyes, glistening with emotion, shifted between James and Lily, still processing the magnitude of what they had just shared. His heart was so full, so utterly overwhelmed with happiness for his best friend, that the emotions he’d been trying to keep in check finally slipped past his defenses.
He cleared his throat, trying to shake off the lump that had formed there, but it didn’t work. The joy in his chest was so heavy, it was impossible to keep it all inside. His eyes started to burn, and he rubbed his face quickly, as though to stave off the tears that were threatening to spill over. But they came anyway—slowly at first, then with more urgency, as he realized the depth of what James and Lily’s baby meant.
“Sirius?” Y/N’s soft voice pulled him from his thoughts, and he looked up to find her standing beside him, her gaze full of concern.
He gave her a shaky smile, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. The tears, now unmistakable, were streaming down his face. He wiped them away quickly, but they kept coming, as if he couldn’t hold them back any longer.
“I’m sorry, I—” His voice broke, and he stopped, taking in a shaky breath. “I just—this baby is going to be so loved,” he murmured, his words coming out thick with emotion. “So loved. And I know that because of the two of you. And the family we’ve built together.”
Y/N felt a lump in her throat as she reached out for his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. She could see it now—the weight of what this meant for him. She had always known how deeply Sirius felt for his friends, how much he cared for them like they were his own flesh and blood. But seeing him so raw, so vulnerable in this moment, was something else entirely.
He looked at her, his eyes searching for something, some kind of reassurance, but he didn’t find it. Instead, his gaze turned back to James and Lily, his voice unsteady. “This kid… this kid is going to grow up with two amazing parents, and they’re going to have all of us to love them. Every single one of us. You’re not just bringing a child into this world—you’re bringing someone into a family that’s already been built on love. And that baby will feel that. Every second of every day.”
Sirius swallowed hard, his voice thick with emotion, the words tumbling out as if he couldn’t stop them now. “I know we’ve all been through hell, and I know we’re not perfect, but that little one... they won’t have to fight for this love. It’ll be given to them freely, and endlessly, and God—” He choked on his words, blinking furiously as more tears fell down his cheeks. “They’ll never have to wonder if they’re wanted. Because they will be, more than anything in this world.”
James and Lily, standing off to the side, exchanged a look. There was a mixture of surprise and something else—something deeper. They could see how much Sirius cared, how much this moment meant to him.
James, who had been standing back, observing this tender moment, finally spoke, his voice rough but full of sincerity. “Sirius…” He stepped forward, clapping his hand on his shoulder, his own eyes moist with emotion. “Thank you. For everything. You’re going to be part of this little one’s life too. I know that for sure.”
Sirius sniffed and nodded, his chest tight. “I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” he murmured, his voice still raw but steadying now. He managed a small, tearful smile at James, the bond between them stronger than ever. “You’re my brother, Prongs. Always.”
“And you’re mine, Pads,” James replied, his voice full of warmth. “You’ve been there for me more times than I can count. And you’ll be there for this baby too.”
Sirius wiped his eyes with the back of his hand, forcing out a shaky breath. “Alright, alright, enough of that,” he said, trying to clear the emotion from his voice. “I’m not crying anymore. At least, not in front of you lot.” He managed a weak chuckle, though his heart was still pounding. “We need champagne.”
The pop of the champagne cork echoed through the room, and Sirius grinned, expertly pouring the bubbly into glasses. He handed Y/N a glass with a playful wink, and she accepted it with a smile.
“Cheers,” Sirius said, raising his glass with a mischievous glint in his eyes. The others followed suit, clinking their glasses together. Lily, sitting beside James, simply smiled warmly but didn't reach for a glass herself.
Y/N took a sip of her champagne, the bubbly tickling her tongue, and glanced around at the group. James and Remus were both grinning, and Sirius, his usual confident self, couldn't seem to take his eyes off her. She couldn't help but smile in return.
Sirius couldn’t wipe the grin off his face as he pulled Y/N close, his arms wrapping around her waist. His eyes were alight with excitement, and before she could react, he kissed her gently on the cheek, then on the top of her head. He pulled back slightly, his smile only growing wider.
“I’m so bloody happy,” Sirius murmured, kissing her cheek again, a little more quickly this time, as though he couldn’t contain his joy. “I can’t believe it—Lily’s pregnant. We’re going to be an aunt and uncle!”
He laughed softly, kissing her head once more, his lips lingering there for a second before pulling back, his hands resting on her shoulders. “We’re going to be amazing,” he added, his voice full of excitement.
Y/N could feel the warmth of his kisses against her skin, and the way he couldn't stop smiling made her own heart swell. “I think we will be,” she said with a small laugh, her hands lightly resting on his chest.
Sirius kissed her cheek again, this time with a playful sense of urgency. “I just can’t stop thinking about it, Y/N. We’re going to spoil that baby rotten.” He kissed her head again, this time a soft peck that was more about the moment than anything else.
Y/N smiled up at him, her heart fluttering with the affection he showed.
Sirius laughed, the sound of it rich and carefree. He kissed her on the cheek once more, so many times that Y/N felt almost giddy with the affection. "I can’t wait for all of it, doll. I’m just so bloody happy."
