پاکستان میں ٹیلی ویژن کا آغاز 59 سال قبل 26 نومبر 1964 میں ہوا۔ حسن اتفاق ہے کہ اقوام متحدہ نے ٹیلی ویژن کا عالمی دن منانے کے لیے نومبر کی 21 تاریخ کا تعین کیا ہے۔ ٹیلی ویژن کی ایجاد کی کہانی تحیر انگیز ہے۔ ٹیلی ویژن آواز، تصویر اور روشنی کے امتزاج کا نام ہے۔ ٹیلی گراف، ریڈیو اور فلم کی ایجاد نے ٹیلی ویژن کی راہ ہموار کی۔ ٹیلی اور ویژن دو لفظ ہیں۔ ٹیلی رومن لفظ ہے جس کا مطلب ہے ’’دور‘‘ جب کہ ’’ ویژن‘‘ انگریزی لفظ ہے جس کا مطلب ’’دیکھنا‘‘۔ اس طرح ٹیلی ویژن کا مطلب دور سے دیکھنا یا ’’دور درشن‘‘ ہے۔ ٹیلی ویژن کی ابتدا 1930 کی دہائی میں ہوئی۔ 1950 کی دہائی میں امریکا اور یورپ میں ٹیلی ویژن کی ترقی اور ترویج میں تیزی آئی۔ 1960 کی دہائی اس کے پھیلاؤ کی دہائی ہے۔ پاکستان میں ٹیلی ویژن کی کہانی بھی بہت دلچسپ ہے۔ پاکستان میں ٹیلی ویژن کا لفظ تیسرے وزیر اعظم محمد علی بوگرا کی زبان سے سنا گیا، وہ امریکا میں دو مرتبہ پاکستان کے سفیر رہے تھے، انھوں نے ایک نجی محفل میں ٹیلی ویژن کا تذکرہ کیا۔ 

جنرل محمد ایوب خان کے دور میں تعلیمی اصلاحات کمیشن بنایا گیا، اس کمیشن نے باضابطہ طور پر پاکستان میں تعلیم کے فروغ کے لیے ٹیلی ویژن کے آغاز کی سفارش کی۔ اکتوبر 1963 میں ٹیلی ویژن نیٹ ورک شروع کرنے کے احکامات جاری ہوئے اور 26 نومبر 1964 کو پاکستان کے پہلے ٹیلی ویژن مرکز کا لاہور میں ایوب خان نے افتتاح کیا۔ ابتدائی دفاتر لاہور آرٹس کونسل کی پرانی عمارت کے لان میں ٹینٹ لگا کر قائم کیے گئے۔ کچھ عرصہ بعد ریڈیو پاکستان لاہور کی کینٹین میں پہلا ٹی وی اسٹوڈیو بنایا گیا۔ ریڈیو پاکستان لاہور کی عمارت کے ساتھ خالی پلاٹ پر ملک کے پہلے ٹیلی ویڑن سینٹر کی عمارت بھی تعمیر ہوئی۔ اس وقت ملک کے چاروں صوبوں اور آزاد کشمیر میں پاکستان ٹیلی ویژن کے اسٹیٹ آف دی آرٹ اسٹوڈیوز اور عمارتیں ہیں، یہ ادارہ ہزاروں افراد کو ملازمت دینے کے ساتھ ساتھ پاکستان میں تمام نجی ٹی وی چینلز میں ’’مدر چینل‘‘ کی حیثیت رکھتا ہے۔ 26 نومبر 1964 کو پی ٹی وی نشریات کا آغاز پونے چار بجے شام ہوا۔

تلاوت کلام کے بعد صدر جنرل محمد ایوب خان نے افتتاحی تقریر کی۔ شام 7 بجے اردو خبریں نشر ہوئیں اور رات نو بجے ٹرانسمیشن قومی ترانے کے ساتھ ختم ہوئی ابتدا میں پاکستان ٹیلی ویڑن کی نشریات ہفتے میں چھ دن، صرف پانچ گھنٹے کے لیے ہوتی تھیں جب کہ سوموار کے دن ٹی وی نشریات نہیں ہوا کرتی تھیں۔  ابتدائی ایام میں اردو اور انگریزی خبروں کے حصول کے لیے کوئی نیوز ایجنسی نہ تھی تازہ ترین خبریں دنیا بھر کے ریڈیو مانیٹر کر کے حاصل کی جاتی تھیں۔ پی ٹی وی کے پاس صرف دو اسٹوڈیو کیمرے تھے، بیرونی فلم بندی کے لیے کوئی فیلڈ کیمرہ نہ تھا بعد ازاں چابی سے چلنے والے دو کیمرے لیے گئے جن میں 100 فٹ فلم کا رول آتا تھا۔ فلم بندی کے بعد نیگٹیو فلم کو ایک پرائیویٹ لیبارٹری میں دھلوایا جاتا تھا اور پھر ’’ ٹیلی سینی‘‘ برقی الے کے ذریعے اسے پوزیٹو بنا کر ٹی وی پر دکھایا جاتا تھا۔ 

کئی سال تک پی ٹی وی کے مراکز سے پانچ گھنٹوں کے دوران کل 20 منٹ کی خبریں پیش کی جاتی تھیں۔ مغربی پاکستان اور مشرقی پاکستان ( لاہور اور ڈھاکا) ٹیلی ویژن کے درمیان ٹیلکس، ٹیلی پرنٹر اور ٹیلی فون کنیکشنز قابل اعتماد اور تیز رفتار نہ تھے، اس لیے مغربی اور مشرقی پاکستان کے درمیان نیوز فلموں کو ہوائی جہاز کے ذریعے بھیجا جاتا تھا اور دوسرے دن ان کی نشریات ممکن ہوتی تھیں۔ 1970 میں پہلی بار 25 منٹ کا خبرنامہ کراچی مرکز سے شروع کیا گیا۔ مشرقی پاکستان کی علیحدگی کے بعد 1975 میں جب مغربی پاکستان کے تمام صوبوں کو مائیکرو ویو اور بوسٹرز کے ذریعے قومی نشریاتی رابطے سے منسلک کیا گیا تو راولپنڈی اور اسلام آباد ٹیلی ویڑن سینٹر سے خبریں بیک وقت پورے ملک میں نشر ہونے لگیں، ہر صوبائی دارالحکومت کے ٹی وی مرکز سے مقامی خبروں کا اغاز بھی ہوا۔ صبح کی روزانہ نشریات کا باقاعدہ آغاز پہلی بار 1989 میں ہوا جب کہ جولائی 2002 سے پی ٹی وی نے ہفتے میں ساتوں دن 24 گھنٹے کی نشریات شروع کی اور ہر گھنٹے کے آغاز پر نیوز بلٹن نشر کیا جانے لگا۔ 

نیوز اور کرنٹ افیئرز کے لیے ایک الگ ٹی وی چینل بھی بنایا گیا۔ اب جب کہ پاکستان ٹیلی ویژن 60 سال کا ہونے کو ہے اگر اس کی کارکردگی کا اختصار سے جائزہ لیا جائے تو یہ کہا جا سکتا ہے کہ پی ٹی وی کی پہلی دہائی کو گولڈن پیریڈ کہا جا سکتا ہے۔ دوسری دہائی پی ٹی وی کی ٹیکنیکی اور پیشہ ورانہ ترقی سے عبارت ہے۔ تیسری دہائی گلیمر اور میلو ڈرامہ یعنی رومان اور جذباتیت کی دھائی شمار کی جا سکتی ہے۔ جب کہ چوتھی دہائی میں پی ٹی وی کی اجارہ داری بتدریج ختم ہونے لگی اور نجی چینلز مقابلے میں آنا شروع ہوئے۔ اور اب تو صورتحال یہاں تک پہنچ گئی ہے کہ پی ٹی وی کو اپنے اخراجات پورے کرنے کے لیے حکومت سے مالی مدد لینے کی ضرورت پیش آتی ہے۔ ان تمام عوامل کے باوجود سرکاری ٹی وی ہر ملک کی ضرورت ہے، اسے حکومت وقت اور ریاست کا ترجمان بھی سمجھا جاتا ہے۔ سرکاری ٹی وی کو قومی ٹیلی ویژن کا درجہ بھی دیا جاتا ہے۔ اس کی کارکردگی کا موازنہ نجی ٹی وی چینلز کی پالیسیوں اور ابلاغی اقدار سے نہیں کیا جا سکتا کیونکہ اس کی کارکردگی اور تخلیقی صلاحیتوں کا دائرہ حکومت وقت کی پالیسیوں کے گرد گھومتا ہے اور ان کا تحفظ بھی کرنا ہوتا ہے۔

Attention PTV community!! I was inspired by @miwnet 's Motionless in White Appreciation Week, and have decided to do something similar for Pierce the Veil! Join me in sharing what this band means to you, using any form of expression you choose.

I would like for this to be during the week leading up to the one year anniversary of The Jaws of Life! The 7 prompts I've thought of are each dualities/opposites that I've noticed as running themes in PTV's lyrics. For any given pair of concepts, feel free to either choose one or the other, or create something that incorporates both! Personally I have made two separate gif sets for each day. The prompts are:

Lastly, I want to add how much love and time went into this project on my end. I've made 196 gifs total these past few weeks, and digging into these parallels in PTV's music has healed something in me as well as making me even more insane about this band, if you can imagine.

I would love to see others' creations as part of this but even if no one participates, it's something I'm deeply proud of and cannot wait to share with you all. Hope to see some bangin PTV creations in February!

My merch haul from yesterday. Top row is my meet & greet merch: signed poster, my vip lanyard that I also had them sign, and a keychain. Then I went to the merch booth and got a sweatshirt (I was gonna get this same one in tan off their website but didn't get it before it sold out completely), tank top that desperately needs to get washed to get the wrinkles out, and a copy of the self titled album 20th anniversary edition because I don't have that (and NOT because it says limited to 3000 copies, I couldn't even see that from where I was standing thank you very much). And well at this point I needed something to hold all that so I HAD to get a tote bag and I figured that I may as well get something from PTV, right?

when we were young fest with a huge swing and a miss for me with MCR only playing TBP (my least fav MCR album - I still like it, but it's like. not nearly as good as Revenge) and PTV only playing CWTS (again, I like this album, and I have the strongest nostalgia for it, but AFFTD is literally right there) is such a bummer. I mean I'm not a big festival person anyway and I've had enough bad experiences with other alt people/people in "the scene" that I'd likely not be going anyway, but if MCR played revenge and PTV played a flair for the dramatic, I'd fucking be there bro. pierce the veil’s album Misadventures turns 5 years old today!! i love this album so much it’s one of my favorites! i remember when this album first came out back in 2016, then the following year the band won the award for best album of the year from the Alternative Press Music Awards🥺❤️🤘🏻

you always found it weird that your boyfriend was so comfortable around your scars. he didn't treat them any differently than the rest of your body, and tbh you weren't complaining.

still, his complete disinterest in the marks over the course of your long term relationship unnerved you. why didn't he say anything about them? you wore revealing outfits around him at times, so there was no way he had missed them.

when your 5 year anniversary of being clean came around, you were obviously thrilled and decided to invite ur bf out for an expensive supper.

probably asked you what the occasion for such a fancy meal was. when you told him, you were a bit worried of how he would react until he carefully asked what you meant by being clean.

you could only sit there, wondering if your had heard him correctly. no way your boyfriend was actually this, for lack of better words, dumb.

then everything started to make sense. when he had first seen the scars and asked how you had gotten them, you joked around and said they were from your cat. he had shrugged and told you they looked cool, and that had been the end of it.

keyword being joked. apparently the man had been living under a rock for the last ten years and hadn't realized the well... symbolism in your words.

to a normal person, this would have seemed fucked up but the situation was so hilarious that you were having a hard time keeping your laughter inside, almost choking on your spit while the other snobs at the restauraunt glared at you.

after you finally recovered from your giggling fit, you told him the truth. he still didn't fully understand, so he researched the psychology and reasons behind self harm later that night.

he probably went through all 5 stages of greif in a matter of minutes and was all in all, fucking devastated.

is physical: draken, mitsuya, ran, baji, hanma, wakasa, shinichiro, keiji, naomichi

the first time you showed him the healed scars, he went full ptv mode, asking you if he could kiss them. you had hesitantly agreed, a bit alarmed that a situation so many had described as well, cringe, was happening in your life. if you enjoy it, he'll take any chance he gets to do it again. if you don't he'll never bring the event up again.

whether he's trying to be romantic or looking for an excuse to kiss you more is unclear, but the extra attention always manages to cheer you up.

the type to be fascinated by your scars. you know the thing where your scars look more pronounced when you stretch or squeeze the skin around them? being as physically affectionate as he was, he ended up doing it to you all the time.

feels kind of bad about it when he considers how they got there, but enjoys playing with your thighs/arms/stomach and body in general too much to stop.

not the type to walk on egg shells with your scars, but if somebody else doesn't give you the respect you deserve? watch out, because he might just kill them.

his protective instincts are set off whenever you hold a particularly sharp object like a knife or fabric scissors but he ignores the feeling. he knew you'd tease him for acting like a mom and roleplaying as one of your parental figures was the last thing he wanted to do

when you told him about your scars, he didn't have the usual reaction. no, the man ripped his pants off to reveal some of his (healed ofc, he would never try to trigger you) own.

a reverse comfort moment. you hadn't expected you to be the one consoling him, but here you were. it was the first time he'd shown them to anyone else, and you were honored that he trusted you enough to do so.

eventually starts wearing your oversized shirts around the house, and because you only owned a few (which he practically stole from you), you wore his. if people visited your shared apartment early in the morning, they'd find both of you wearing each others clothes.

it looked pretty fucking stupid, but you and him had grown to reliant on the comfort that sharing a wardrobe brought to quit doing so.

talks about your angsty teenage years become common place. you end up knowing all of each others embarrassing edge lord moments, and it was fun knowing that neither of you would try to force the other into therapy, instead laughing at how wrong everything had went.

it always made you sad to think about everything he went through, but then you'd remember he probably felt the same way about you, and your heart would warm up again.

whenever he was feeling down, tracking you down was at the top of his list. whether it was snuggling, bathing or napping together, he loved you so much he felt like his heart could burst.

definitely used to hate winter, the lack of light and depressing cold making it awful for his mental health, but with you around? the season became an excuse to huddle together much more often than usual.

Chapter 10: Wine?

“Hey... Wine?” Sakusa awkwardly offers, lifting the bottle of wine in his hand. You nod and he pours a good amount in a glass. “So what did you want to talk about?”

You sit at one of the counter chairs while he stands behind the counter. You take a sip from the glass and give him a serious look.

“What are we?”

He stares at you emotionless. He repeats your question in his mind. He doesn’t know the answer to that, too.

He used to think that being in a relationship is like completing a puzzle board. One piece should fit the other to complete the puzzle. It’s a puzzle board that only needs two pieces. And you two were pieces of a puzzle that fit perfectly with each other.

He believes a relationship only needs two people. It only needed you and him. But there’s a new piece now.

Kia.

Kia is a piece that is meant to be stuck to you. He can’t detach or take her away from you. The board for two is too full. One piece has to leave.

It’s a whole new puzzle now.

Sakusa glances at his phone, taking a look at the picture of Kia that is attached to its back. Seeing Kia’s smile on the photo strikes an answer to your question.

“We’re Kia’s parents.”

His answer surprises you. Kenma and Akaashi had told you about how Sakusa is only trying hard to take care of Kia so he can be on your good side. That’s why no matter how sweet or caring he is to Kia, you can’t seem to accept him back to your life.

You want a father for Kia, not a partner for yourself.

The moment you decided you wanted to keep Kia was the same moment you promised that you’ll put her first before you. The main reason you left Sakusa.

It’s a selfish move. You’re aware. But you’re also aware that Sakusa has never understood the concept of having children.

“Do you think we’ll get married?” You asked him, sitting on the couch while he vacuumed the living room floor of his apartment. The machine was silencing your voice, but Sakusa still heard your question.

“Why do you think I’m dating you?” He answered. His focus was on the dusty floor, not even sparing a glance at you.

“Then, do you want children with me?” You finally asked. His answer would decide what you were gonna do.

A day before you came over to his apartment, you found out you were pregnant. The whole night before that, you thought about what you would do. You were only in your second year of college and didn’t know anything about motherhood. You were afraid.

The only light left you had was Sakusa.

He would stay, right? He said he loves you.

“I don’t even want a child, how much more children?” He stated, turning the vacuum off. “I’ve never really liked them. They’re dirty and annoying. I don’t understand why others procreate them and call them their bundle of joy. They’re more of a bundle of expense and responsibilities.”

“Even with me?” You pushed the question and you see annoyance in his face. He kept quiet and turned the vacuum on again, continuing what he was doing before.

And his silence meant yes.

And that same silence put you in the darkest place you’ve ever been to.

He places his glass down in front you, snapping you out of your flashback. He takes a deep breath in before explaining his answer.

“I know you know what I said to Kozume and Akaashi. And I meant it. I want you back, I really do,” he sounds like he’s pleading. The desperation in his voice is making your heart clench. But you shouldn’t give in so easily.

“It’s easier said than done,” you chuckle, downing the whole glass of wine. You take the bottle and pour some more. Sakusa is silent. He doesn’t know how to explain it further.

‘Kia is not a piece of the puzzle.’

“The only reason I allowed this arrangement to happen was because I want us to be together again. But now, I have the intention of being Kia’s dad.” He stops you from drinking any further, afraid that you’d get drunk. He wants you to hear him while you are sober. He needs you to see his sincerity.

‘We don’t need Kia to be complete.’

He continues to speak, eyes locked on yours. “She’s not only your child or my child. She’s our child.”

‘Kia doesn’t complete us.’

“What are you trying to say?” You tilt your head, your heart beating faster from his words. You aren’t even that intoxicated from the alcohol but you’re getting dizzy. You’re getting intoxicated from his words.

“Let’s continue raising her like this. Together.”

‘Kia can’t be completed without us.’

“Okay...” you agree. He tells you stay at your seat as he goes to his room. The whole time you are alone, your mind is filled with nothing but Sakusa’s words.

‘Give him the chance you never gave,’ a voice in your mind says. You take a deep breath in, blurring the words out of your head.

Sakusa comes back, hiding something behind his back. You squint your eyes at him, not in the mood for surprises. He puts his phone down first, and you see the back of his phone.

You smile. ‘So that’s where it went.’

He puts whatever he was hiding below the counter top, earning an eyebrow raise at you. He inhales heavily before speaking once again.

“Don’t be too surprised, okay?” He tells you, his hand landing on top of yours.

“At this point, nothing surprises me anymore,” you joke. You the glass of wine with your empty hand and drink from it, waiting for whatever surprise Sakusa is going to pull.

In your four years of dating, you can tell that Sakusa sucks in surprises. He’s too honest for them. And you thought it was cute. Anniversary dinner? He’ll tell you a week before. He has a gift for you? You already know what it is. He’s just never one to surprise. So shocking could his surprise be.

He puts his other hand on the counter top, his large hands clutching on whatever he’s hiding. “Try opening it.” You roll your eyes, but do it anyways. You attempt to open his hand with yours, but he’s too strong for you. You use your other hand as well, trying hard to open it.

He finally lets go, his palm open wide. And it’s empty.

“You’re such a jerk...” You pout and he laughs nervously. He takes his other hand out, and there it is.

A ring.

“Are you serious?” You look at him, not able to look at the ring he’s holding. He nods.

“This isn’t a proposal,” he explains nonchalantly, taking your left hand with his empty hand.

“Then what is it supposed to be?!” Your cheeks flush a crimson color, looking at his actions. “Kiyoomi, we’re not even back together. What makes you think I’ll say yes?”

“I told you. This isn’t a proposal,” he clarifies. “It’s a gift.”

“This gift is too expensive and misleading,” you exclaim, letting him slip the ring in your ring finger anyways.

“Well, you did bear my child. You deserve more than this ring.” He places your hand down on the counter top, taking one last glance at your hand before looking at you. “Thank you for keeping Kia.”

His words made tears run down your cheeks without you even knowing. He worriedly goes to your side, afraid he might have said something wrong. You chuckle, “I just can’t believe you’re thanking for bringing Kia into this world. You don’t even like children.”

“You’re right about that, but she isn’t as bad,” he replies, and you hit his arm jokingly.

‘She’s not just a child. She’s our completed puzzle.’

“Thank you,” you say, mustering all your courage. You place a hand on his shoulder, leaning to kiss his cheek but he turns, about to ask you what you are thanking him for.

As a result, your lips land on him as if this is some sort of drama or series. You two are too shocked to even move, hell you can’t even process what’s happening. The wine that is intoxicating your brains isn’t of any help. It’s just making you even dizzier, and needier.

‘Let’s blame it on alcohol.’

You close your eyes, your hand that was on his shoulder now cupping his cheek. You start to move your lips and you feel him do the same thing. His hands find home on your waist, his body moving closer to yours.

“Kyo?” A shaky voice calls out and both of your worlds stop once again. You push Sakusa away from you, praying hoping that the little girl that just called you didn’t see anything. Kia is standing in the hallway, rubbing her sleepy eyes with her small hands.

“Kia, why are you still awake? I thought you were asleep?” You act sternly, eyeing Kiyoomi who is also acting giddy. He’s trying hard not to make eye contact with Kia. She yawns as she drags her tiny feet closer to the two of you.

“Kyo, why are you kissing mama?”

New Porsche Boxster 25 Year Anniversary Edition

Porsche is celebrating the 25th birthday of its roadster family with a special anniversary model: the Boxster 25 Years. The limited edition is restricted to 1,250 units worldwide and is based on the GTS 4.0 model, which is powered by a 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine with 294 kW (400 PS). It makes reference to numerous design features of the Boxster concept car that heralded the success story of the open-top two-seater at the 1993 Detroit Motor Show. The production version was launched in 1996 with hardly any changes in its visual appearance and is now in its fourth generation after production of more than 357.000 units.

One of the most striking features of the special model is the reinterpreted color Neodyme, a copper-like shimmering brown, which provided an exciting contrast to the basic GT Silver Metallic color on the pioneering 1993 showpiece. In the special edition, it is used on the front apron, the side air intakes with mono bar as well as for the lettering and the two-tone 20-inch alloy wheels. Porsche is offering the Boxster 25 Years in GT Silver Metallic although Deep Black Metallic and Carrara White Metallic are also available. Another striking element can be found on the fuel filler cap, which is enhanced by Porsche script from the Exclusive Design range. This shines in an aluminum look as do the high-gloss tailpipes of the sports exhaust system while the windscreen surround is finished in contrasting Black.

In keeping with the style of the historic original, the special model combines a Bordeaux leather interior with a red fabric convertible top. The convertible top bears embossed Boxster 25 lettering. Both are also available in Black. An interior package in Aluminum, 14-way electrically adjustable sports seats, door sill trims with “Boxster 25" lettering and the heated GT multifunction sports leather steering wheel are just some of the features on the new model’s extended standard equipment list.

The power plant of the anniversary edition offers pure exhilaration: the 4.0-litre flat-six engine of the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 is also used as a higher-power variant in the purist 718 Spyder. With effortless response, exceptional power delivery and a rich sound, the high-revving 294 kW (400 PS) naturally aspirated engine guarantees an especially emotive driving experience. Porsche is offering the Boxster 25 Years with a manual six-speed transmission and a seven-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK). The special-edition model reaches a top speed of 293 km/h and, in combination with the PDK gearbox and standard Sport Chrono package, sprints from zero to 100 km/h in four seconds. Other standard features include Porsche Active Suspension Management sports suspension (PASM), which is 10 millimeters lower, and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with mechanical limited-slip differential. They combine remarkable ride comfort and sporty, dynamic handling.

The new Boxster 25 Years is available to order now and will roll into dealerships end of March 2021. Prices in Germany start at 94,986 euros – including VAT and country-specific equipment.
