ENVIRONMENT RESEARCH !

Environment

Environment definition= the surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal, or plant lives or operates.

Environment can mean a lot of things as it is such a huge thing that is why there are some many different art paths you can go down with this topic including poster advertisement magazines etc.

Within this topic I have managed to get different synonyms that link to the word and choice the words that stand out for me and look at outcome I could possible do for them, the words that stand out for me are WEATHER, CLIMATE CHANGE, HOT, COLD, HABITAT, PLANETS and POLITICS all these word have a big link to the word environment and I have come up with different outcome I can create.

Below are images of my note book and spider diagram that I use to do quick fire ideas to get the ball rolling before going deep into research on the internet and it helps me target thing I need to research more into.

HABITAT

With this word I could create individual mini worlds/realms that are inspired by the elements of the world and different wether conditions that we fast including a hot world, snowy world etc.

With these mini creations I could add them to a publication or a magazine showing all or them or could dedicate each outcome to its own individual poster.

When I was looking for inspiration I was looking at mobile games that have Been create that focus on the genre of fantasy as they create artwork that I really like the style of and some them give of a Scandinavian/nordic style which I really like, I also had I really big inspiration from a designer called cruschiform (pagent Pekka)

Marie-Laure Cruschi (pagent Pekka) art work is block colour but have texture to it but I like the style of their work there layout colour pallets and just overall look.

I watch 2 of her live stream but as there were very long I skied through them so I could look at the process of what she created mainly, below are the two videos I watched.

COLD/HOT

Cold and hot can link to a lot of things that are linked to the environment, one of them is focusing on WEATHER, TEMPERATURE and CLIMATE CHANGE so this is were I though I could create outcome from and focus on these topics as these topics were on my spider diagram and I can link to them.

I though I could create posters on the ice caps melting and the forest fire that have been happing this relates to the topic of the words COLD and HOT which is good for creating poster I can focus on portraying a message of warning and also with this art it would be focusing on opposite so I could use a restricted colour pallet for each topic blues and whites for cold and reds, oranges and yellows for hot.

With in this word topic of cold and hot I would be able to involve a lot of photography that I could edit on the programs of Lightroom and photoshop.

When I was looking for inspiration I was looking on Pinterest and came across this website with loads of different artist/designers that focus artwork on climate change and global warming and getting the word out there some of the designer I like are from the artist, Emily Giglio, Andrei Popov, Shepard Fairey and Aaron Jay

Climate change and politics is a big thing in this world now and that is why art and this topic will link well together as you will be able to get warning out via images.

The only thing with this topic Is if I choice to do it I will have to thing of something very unique with in it because so many outcome and art have already been done.

But when I was thinking of things to do I though about focusing on war poster and using that as inspiration for outcome as in the war there were very powerful and that Is what I need to create powerful art as we need the government to listen to what is happening.

New republic newspaper had a few bit of art in them that have the style or war time art but the message of global warming which I really like as that is the image I had in mind. 

I could also focus on the uncle sam poster as that is a well knows poster or the we can do it poster as well.

Again this word topic with in environment is linked to the fist word I focus on which is habitat 

I was thinking I could focus on the different planets in our solar system and create different planets that have different environments on them.

But then thing that I will focus on is creating some timeline art if I was to create this as I could communicate the message of the planet diving through imagery and graphics the art would show the world 100 yers ago and then 50 years ago then now and what it will look like in 50/100 years time.

Another thing that you could focus on is our planet and deforestation and what the planet looked like from above and now and show how much the trees have gone and with in this you could produce poster agin to warn people and start to help. (make poster for a tree campaign) 

The idea about making a tree campaign poster was from me looking at THE GUARDIAN 

It had an artic called “ humans have destroyed a tenth of earths wilderness in 25 years”

And it really go me think about what I could create.

a friend of mine did a research file on racism towards asian people during covid-19. and for this assignment you had to have at least one primary source, so someone you interviewed. she interviewed some asian people, don't know which nationality. it was an assignment that stretched multiple months with multiple meetings with our professor.

our professor then apparently told her she should interview some white people

like listen, there have been many articles written about racism towards asian people during covid, internationally as well as here in my country and NONE OF THEM TALKED TO WHITE PEOPLE BECAUSE DUUUUH.

she went to every meeting with her file, updated her file with every commentary he gave (except the "interview white people" cuz???) and she just got her results 3.5/10 with a bunch of commentary. all notes he didn't even pass along at the last meeting a week before the deadline????? and he said she needed priamry sources BUT SHE ALREADY HAD PRIMARY SOURCES!!!!

this is also the same teacher that said that my friend was agreeing with the genocide on uighur muslims in china because she wanted to do her assignment on racism that people from asia experience.
