“Hey, Bee. Come check out what I’ve built in the workshop.”

“Oh, lord.”

“Don’t give me that look! I swear this time it’s something cool.”

"I understand. Listen, I'll be straight with you. My wife sent me today - she's been talking with your brother, Antonio. We all want to put an end to this feud."

"You're wasting your time." Bianca replied, flatly. "I tried to talk Nonna around, long ago! But it's no use with her. I just try to stay out of it all. I don't want to deal with the drama."

"'Drama'? Bianca, people have died. Who knows who will be next - Mercutio? Juliette? Your brother?"

Right, that’s it from the Gieke household! You’ll have to forgive my teasing - I plan to do more with the Monty/Capp drama when I get to the Veronaville round (who knows - maybe that’ll be this year?) I had fun playing them - they’re always such a chill household.

"You don't have to lecture me.” Bianca snapped. “I live with that fear every single day! But what do you want me to do?! I need to put my daughter first. I'm not exposing her to any of that."

"And yet you're meeting with me today, and you remain working at your brother's restaurant. You still care, don't you? It's the same with my wife."

"...What are you and your wife planning?"

"I'm glad you asked."

"Thank you for meeting me today, Bianca. I want you to know, neither my wife nor I condone what Juliette did that day. We really are sorry, about Romeo."

"Mmm." Bianca sipped her drink. "I appreciate that, but an apology now won't bring back my nephew."

“Listen, honey. I’m going out tonight to meet up with, um, a friend?”

“A friend?” Chester raised an eyebrow. 

“It’s uh, Albany Capp. He invited me out for dinner, says he wants to talk.”

“Capp?” Chester frowned. “Which one is he again? One of Kent’s brothers?”

“His brother-in-law. We bumped into each other a few weeks ago and got talking, and he was saying how he and Goneril really want the feud to be over.”

“Right... but can you trust him?” Chester didn’t like the sound of this one bit. Bianca liked to see the good in everyone, sure. But she’d always said she didn’t want to get involved in any feud stuff!

“I’m not sure, honestly. But I think I want to hear him out.”

“Does Kent know?”

“No, and please don’t tell him, yet. Albany said to come alone.”

“This is sounding really suspicious, Bee.”

“I know, I know. But it’s in a public place. If anything seems weird, I’ll come straight home.”

“Okay. And if you’re not home by ten, I’m telling Kent everything and we’re calling the police.”

“Oh, wow! What, um, what is it?”

“It’s a chocolate machine! Since you said you wanted to get into making sweets.”

“Aw, honey. This is really, well, sweet!”

“Kent helped, too. Version 1.0 was a bit of a disaster.”

“Lear!” Kent beamed down the phone. “Hi, kiddo. How’s summer camp?”

Bianca smiled. Kent might say he hated his family, but it was cute how he still had a soft spot for all the kids. She turned to Chester.

“How’s the new book coming along? It looked like you got a lot done today! Got a new chapter for me to read, yet?”

“It’s uh-”

“You write books, Chester?” Lola asked, from the piano. “That’s so impressive! What kind of thing do you write?”

“Um... science... fiction?”

“How’s your love life, Kent?”

“Ha! What love life?”

“It feels unfair you’re the only adult in the house not getting any action! If you want to hit the club sometime, I could play wing-lady?”

“Eh, maybe in a month or two. Work really is busy right now.”

“Aren’t there any cute guys at work?”

“Not really. Anyway, it’d be unprofessional to date a coworker.”

When the party’s over, Bianca collects a hefty bunch of tips from the piano.

“Not bad, huh, Mr. Bones?”

“You take her; I need to get to work.”

“Have a good day, Kent.”

“You too! Be good for your daddy, Giorgia.”

“...So we’re thinking of having live music at the restaurant! It’ll be nice, I think, but Antonio’s still trying to source a good act...”

“Isn’t she precious?” Bianca cooed. “How was she today?”

“Good as gold. I think I’m starting to get the knack of this fatherhood thing.”

“Oh, I’m glad! How would you feel about us having another?”

“A-already?”

“No pressure. I’ve always dreamed of having a big family, though, and it’d be nice if the kids were close in age...”

“Well... making them is pretty fun...”

“I’m hooooooooome!” Bianca called as she stepped out of the car, “how are my babies, everything good?”

“Hi, Mrs. Gieke.”

“Oh, hello, Tycho. There weren’t any explosions or anything at the house today, right?” living with a pair of mad scientists worried her, sometimes. Their experiements could get a little dangerous at times.

“I, uh, didn’t hear anything?”
