Lieutenant Ace
Call of Duty OC Info
Tumblr media
• General Info •
Rank: Lieutenant
Alias: Ace (Formerly known as Mad Dog)
Nationality: N/A
Age: 35 years old (as of 2023)
Gender: Masc
Birthday: 27 February
Language spoken: English
Other languages: Malay
Sexuality: Bisexual
Tumblr media
• Appearance •
Height: 5'2 feet / 159 cm
Blood type: B Pos
Eye color: Brown
Hair color: Dark brown
• Personality •
Introverted - Ace has some trouble approaching people, and with his resting bitch face doesn't make him any more approachable either. He doesn't speak much but only because he doesn't have much to say.
Problems - Ace is practical. He sees an issue, he fixes it the quickest and most effective way he can. Ace doesn't like to spend time sitting around when there should be things to do. There's never a time on missions when nothing is happening.
Straightforward - Ace says things as he sees it. He gets the point across as fast as possible. Ace has gotten several complaints for being abrasive but he's not one to sugarcoat.
Emotional - Despite the above, Ace isn't all that much of an asshole, believe it or not. He'll take the time and effort to hear out anyone for their woes and worries, just listening to those who need it.
Down to earth - Outside of work, Ace is generally a laid back person. If actually approached, he's more than able to hold a conversation and is surprisingly really chatty.
Tumblr media
• Bad Habits •
Bottling - Despite knowing there are trustworthy and competent people who are willing to help, Ace would rather drop dead than ask for help with generally anything. This then leads to being frustrated silently, but Ace works on it. Tries to, at least.
Anger Issues - This only applies to missions. Ace has difficulty working with people due to his tendency to snap. Be it a snarky comment or directly yelling at someone. Even when things were looking positive, and god forbid someone makes an avoidable mistake.
Mean - Being someone as quiet as Ace, he is not above being a mean bitch, his actions speak louder than any word could ever express. Gives nasty side eyes through with his eyewear but no one can see them.
• Skill set •
Weapon - Long range and/or knifes
Combat Style - Usually sticks to long range guns. Good with close combat, Ace is very nimble and agile though it comes with the downside of larger weight classes going against him.
Special Skill - Breaches through any security systems and can intercept rigs of explosives and traps that use electronic signal triggers. Ipad Kid on the field.
Tumblr media
• Trivia Facts •
Sneaking
Ace startles just about everyone when he seemingly appears from nowhere. He swears he's not doing it on purpose, he's kind of below most people's line of sight, and it's not like he'd want to stomp around the base either.
Goggles
Unintentionally glares at people. Ace has tired looking eyes and spaces out a lot, which leads to a lot of misunderstandings. So he settles for goggles.
Hair
Has been nagged to keep the back of his hair short, and as much as he really tries, it grows back within the week. It doesn't get any longer than it usually is so they just let him keep his very short mullet.
Daisies
Ace loves daisies, and also loves to fuck with people. Ace will make daisy chain crowns and/or bracelets and gift them anonymously to people around the bases he's on. It's been driving everyone crazy. No one has caught him yet.
Dumb Shirts
Under his hoodies, jackets and gear, Ace is wearing those novelty shirts with nonsensical words. He thinks it's hilarious and it's fueled by Johnny giving him more dumb shirts to wear. Ace got caught by a rookie at 2.30am, making tea and wearing one of those shirts. No one ever believes them whenever they try to share their experience.
Tumblr media
Favourites
Drink: Earl Grey with one cream and two sugars
Food: Oranges
Animal: Cats
Hobby: Writing short stories, feeding the stray cats on base
Song: Aces - dkj
Colour: Dull, desaturated colours
Flower: Green thumb, Ace loves all flowers
• (B)romance •
Johnny 'Soap' MacTavish was the first to approach Ace after his transfer into the 141. That means he's the first to form a connection to the dark and broody shadow and discover that he just has RBF™.
They become quick friends, one was never present without the other. Like they were attached to the hip.
Word got around when a rookie saw Lieutenant Ace wearing an oversized jacket that belonged to Sergeant Soap, and said sergeant wearing one of Ace's dumb shirts. It was quickly shot down, no one believing the outlandish claim.
Tumblr media
Ace just enjoys Johnny's company, nothing more and nothing less.. is what he claims when asked. So what if Ace only drinks the tea Johnny brings him, only he knows how to do it right. So what if Ace lets Johnny sit on his lap despite being so much larger, there's no other seats. So what if Ace and Johnny held hands under the table like a pair of juvenile lovebirds-
• Background •
Alias(es)
- Mad Dog
Former and unofficial nickname rather than actual callsign from when he first enlisted. He used to be a loudmouth that talked back to his superiors, yelling his arguments and being reckless and near uncontrollable on the field.
He was compared to that of a dog barking madly, and thus, the nickname stuck.
- Ace
He's mellowed out, somewhat, compared to his rookie days. Ace earned the name Ace from his former team for being the go-to for intelligence and gathering intel for missions, giving his team a great advantage over enemies.
Former team
Task Force Cards was a small group consisting of four. King, Queen, Jack and Ace himself. They found comfort in each other, coming from different countries and backgrounds, all of them strangers to a foreign land.
Unfortunately, the team had to be disbanded after his fellow team members went rogue on mission.
Scar
A result of a brash action Ace made while trying to reason with his rogue team. While arguing with them, Ace had stepped forward in anger to grab the collar of one of them. A physical altercation broke out.
While the slash was barely skin deep, it hurt Ace seeing them too far gone in their own heads. The wound stung as he testified against them.
Family
Ace had run away from home and enlisted shortly after. He hasn't had contact with them ever since he was 17. As much as he wanted to, Ace knows contacting them again was a pipe dream.

[An abridged excerpt☕️ feat. Steddie & Jargyle]
Eddie spends the entire morning telling Jonathan and Argyle about the date with Steve.
Or rather, the not-date. Whatever.
It was sweet, Eddie reports. Bless Argyle for timidly asking what 'sweet' entails, obviously trying not to pry too much. Jonathan is inscrutable as usual, but he too is gagging to hear it, Eddie can tell. Tricksy little bastardses.
So he complies, of course, and gives them the rundown in between grinding up the beans, tamping, and taking the orders. How gentle Steve was the whole night, how beautiful he was. No, they didn't go to Pound Town, Argyle, shut the fuck up, this is love we’re talking about! Eddie’s in love, okay?
“How do you know?” Argyle asks (after grumbling for a minute about how a trip to Pound Town and being in love aren’t mutually exclusive).
“Know what?”
“That it’s love.”
Jonathan doesn’t miss a beat, facing his boyfriend. “How did you know?” And it’s Argyle’s turn to say, “Know what?”
“That you were in love with me. How did you know, Argyle?”
“I don’t know? I just knew!”
“Fine,” Jonathan rolls his eyes, handing over a drink to a customer (who’s looking absolutely invested in this conversation, nosey as hell) with a tight-lipped smile. “When did you know?”
“I can’t pinpoint that!” Ha, he's so in trouble. It’s so uncharacteristic for Argyle to be panicking like this. Eddie can’t stop cackling. “Jonny, you know it was easy as breathing to fall in love with you, right?”
“Yea? Well, I can pinpoint the moment.” Jonathan’s gaze is somewhere above all of them, somewhere high to the left, and his soft smile is growing. Looking very much like a forgetful granddad reminiscing about his pre-war sweetheart for the 19th time before lunch. “It was early. We weren’t really together by then. We were about to order pizza. That night was the first time you admitted to me that your favourite pizza topping was pineapple, remember? And how everyone gives you so much shit for loving it, how they call it a freak choice. You looked so shy but like, indignant about this-” (Jonathan trembles a little; context clues say he’s overwhelmed with fondness, but he looks as though he’s seething) “-which, I had just told you that I wasn’t a fan of, either. And you still told me about it. And then you said something that I’d never forget.”
“Hm? What did I say?”
“‘I know it’s not for everyone, but you make me feel good about my choice,” Jonathan recites, blinking slowly. The next customer in line gasps and claps a hand over her mouth, forgetting to take out her credit card, engrossed in the story. The iPad POS system continues to scream for sweet mercy as Jonathan takes a step closer, gently grabbing Argyle’s hand. “What you said stayed with me because that’s how you made me feel about everything I like. You still do. I just couldn’t believe that you felt the same.”
Argyle squeezes their joined hands. “Yea, dude, I remember now. I just wanted to spend time with you ‘cause the only one I could really relax with. I didn’t really need pineapple. Or pizza, even, at all. You were what I wanted.”
“Yea, that’s what you said then too.” Jonathan’s normally-inexplicable face is a lot more explicable now. That is a sickening pair of heart eyes if Eddie’s ever seen one. “I didn’t want you to change for me, Argyle. Just wanted you to be comfortable telling me what you want. Felt so lucky that you could feel that way around me.”
“But you hate pineapple on your pizza.”
“Well, you love it. The point is, I was willing to give it a second chance for you. And I had this trust - that you wouldn’t like me any less if I hated it,” Jonathan chuckles softly. “You made me feel like it was okay to just be myself. That’s when I knew it was love, because - I knew I couldn’t be everyone’s first choice, but I wanted to be yours. I wanted to be your pineapple. Your freak choice.”
“Broseph,” Argyle chokes, now tearing up, ignoring Eddie’s groans. He doesn’t even move out of the way when Eddie snatches the credit card out of the POS and hands it to the customer, who is now dabbing the corners of her eyes. The fuck.
“Never call me that again,” Jonathan rasps, equally as teary. “I’ll always order another pie just for you.”
“Can I change my answer? I want that to be my moment too - I mean, I knew I was in love with you before that, but that is so damn romantic, dude, I love you so much, what are you doing to me-”
Uh, hello?? This was supposed to be Eddie’s moment about Steve?! He’s not even done yet with the debrief!! That Eddie’s ready to get hurt again if something goes south, but there’s no indication that anything is wrong at the moment, which is pretty frightening in and of itself. It’s insane how comfortable it feels!! Don’t you wanna hear?!
It’s clear they no longer give a shit, now totally in their weird little bubble, just standing close with their foreheads touching, furiously whispering something unintelligible to each other. Fucking lovebirds. Eddie rolls his eyes.
The door chimes at that moment, and before Eddie even looks over at the entrance, he instinctively knows it’s noon and that it’s Steve at the door. He remembers belatedly, that in the midst of flustered chaos and his coworkers’ revolting love confessions, he’s forgotten to make Steve’s little drink and put away the blueberry crumble. Oops.
Indeed, when Eddie checks the time, it is 12 o’clock sharp. Punctual fuckin’ bastard. Clockwork.

Charot. Gets naman, baka mamisinterpret or whatever.
Nirerenovate 'yung totoong ER that time so nakiki-occupy lang kami sa ibang department. That time, confident akong kaya kong i-retain 'yung key points mula sa mga sinabi niya until may bakante nang computer. By the way, pwedeng magdala ng sariling device like iPad or laptop. Hindi lang ako fan nito since iintindihin mo pa 'yung precious mong kagamitan. Pwedeng mawala na lang nang hindi namamalayan.
Sadly, may mga institution na wala man lang computer talaga sa certain places (kahit hindi paper-based), so wala kang choice kundi magdala ng own device. 🥲
Hehe.
Later on, sabi sa akin ng same resident, na-offend ka ba? Sabi ko hindi po. At sabi nya, ok, good, tapos inulit nanaman niya ang preaching about sa paggamit ng phone. Hindi naman nakaka-offend 'yung sinabi niya. Hindi lang ako convinced sa way of thinking niya.
Oh well, sa panahon ngayon, isa nang career in itself ang pagiging medical scribe. Saludo ako sa kanila for their patience and grit. I wonder if magkakaroon ng gano'n dito sa Pilipinas. And minsan naiisip ko, mag-apply kaya akong ganu'n sa mga US-based practice? For fun lang.

been a while since i posted a personal thang heeeeeere.
wanna know why?
‘cause my ass got a journal ohmergerd! also got a glass dip pen like i mentioned i wanted and aaahhhhh i feel so FANCY writing with a dip pen. 8D
but yeah, since i’ve been spilling all the boring deets of my life into a journal, i haven’t been posting shit here bahaha. probably a good thing? xD but also sometimes a bitch misses getting feedback about things sometimes rather than just writing into a void.
last few days have been a little rough because my mind has gone back to dwelling on the friend breakup from early this year. keep spiraling into trying to pin down what i must have done or said that was so wrong that she felt the need to cut me out of her life for good. and like…yeah i can think of plenty of reasons, but being able to come up with a laundry list of what i believe are my faults isn’t terribly helpful bahah. i’ve fought with myself a few times this year about reaching out to get some sort of non-vague answer, but ultimately i know that i likely don’t want to know whatever her answer is because it isn’t likely to give me any sort of satisfying closure anyway and will probably just make me feel worse about myself.
annnnnnnd yeah it feels like all my progress of slowing accepting that my friend is gone for good is unraveling completely and aaaaaahhhhhh. the fact that we had to put our other dog down a few weeks ago and i’ve been sleeping terribly is probably a big reason for the back-tracking. been feeling that depression slithering back into my life and it makes it difficult to focus on things that would preoccupy me usually and keep me busy. plus it’s beginning to get darker earlier so i’m sure that isn’t helping bahaha. winter months in alaska fucking suck. i could deal with the cold and the snow and shit, but the darkness just makes things so much harder.
anyway…i talked my boss into upgrading our POS system at work! we’ve been using a Square Stand with an iPad Air for a few years, but the tablet has been lagging a lot with square’s app in particular for a while now, so we’re going to get Square’s Register (which will be so nice so i don’t have to worry about iOS updates butting heads with app updates) AS WELL AS a barcode scanner and receipt printer. aaaayyyyyyyy. i’m pretty lowkey hype about the scanner. it’s gonna be an asshole to reorganize the entire inventory, but hey, it’ll be something to do at work during downtime. P; will be nice to make checking out more seamless, especially since my boss wants to start looking into getting volunteers for the shop again. lemme tell you, trying to tell a volunteer to study the inventory so they learn to know where to find items on it for check out is like pulling teeth. being able to tell them to just scan a barcode will make training so much easier for me. xD also, no having to worry about teaching someone how to interact with an iPad. suffering is having to teach an elderly person about iOS gestures. xD; just teaching them to use the app can be a whole thing in itself. hopefully the register will be much more straight forward.
still reading, but been working on playing god of war 2018 since september since i’m interested in playing ragnarok later this year, but vidya gaems really cut into reading time bahaha. also i keep falling behind on my shows and youtube watch later list. xD;

I'm at the restaurant right now and an iPad kid's parent blasts baby shark in the sub-room (the resto's separated in ol' Auvergne themed boxes). Now the 6 kids in the boxes are going agagoo baby shak or crying.
Should I blast my own music (system of a down, preferably Violent Po or Victim of Obscenity) really loud to tell these parents they should lower the sounds of their iPads? Some of the crying kids are over the age of 6?!

iPad POD System
In today’s fast-paced retail and hospitality environments, businesses struggle to meet ever-rising customer expectations for seamless and efficient service. The traditional cash registers and clunky POS systems that once formed the backbone of business operations are now becoming a bottleneck. They often lead to long customer wait times, inaccurate order processing, and a lack of valuable sales…

love it when corporate randomly decides that closers need to do tills now and then a week later changes the way tills are done on the same day as we get and entirely new pos system that doesn’t realize tills are done differently so i somehow end up with $50 more than i’m supposed to have and the money counter refuses to take more than five bills at a time and spits out half of them and i can’t think over the volume of the music and can’t access sonos because none of our new ipads allow us to even exit the pos app and then i still have to do dishes and inventory and i stay two and a half hours later than i’m supposed to. love it when this happens to me

The Future of Point of Sale: iPad Systems for Businesses
In the rapidly evolving landscape of business technology, iPad Point of Sale (POS) systems are at the forefront of a transformative shift in the way businesses manage their sales and operations. The future of the point of sale is increasingly becoming synonymous with iPad-based systems, and this article explores the reasons why this technology is poised to shape the business landscape in the years to come.
Seamless Integration and Mobility
One of the key features that position iPad POS system as the future of the point of sale is their seamless integration with other business technologies. These systems can easily connect with inventory management, customer relationship management, and e-commerce platforms, creating a centralized hub for business operations. Moreover, their mobility allows businesses to serve customers wherever they are, whether it's a bustling restaurant, a retail store, or a trade show. The ability to operate from multiple locations and devices is critical in an increasingly mobile and fast-paced business world.
Enhanced Customer Experience
The future of the point of sale is synonymous with an enhanced customer experience. iPad POS systems play a crucial role in this evolution. Employees equipped with iPads can provide personalized recommendations, access real-time inventory information, and process transactions on the spot. This level of engagement not only streamlines the buying process but also increases customer satisfaction. Happy customers are more likely to become repeat customers and brand advocates, boosting sales and reputation.
Advanced Data Analytics
iPad POS systems are equipped with advanced data analytics tools that enable businesses to collect and analyze data on sales trends, customer preferences, and inventory management. This data-driven approach allows businesses to make informed decisions, optimize their offerings, and tailor marketing strategies to their target audience. As the future of business becomes increasingly data-centric, iPad POS systems are well-positioned to be at the forefront of this revolution.
Eco-Friendly and Cost-Efficient
The future of the point of sale is not just about technology; it's also about sustainability and cost-efficiency. iPad POS systems reduce the need for paper receipts, making transactions more environmentally friendly. Additionally, they are cost-effective, with lower initial setup costs and the ability to receive software updates and upgrades over time, saving businesses money in the long run.
In conclusion, the future of the point of sale is undoubtedly intertwined with iPad systems. Their seamless integration, mobility, focus on enhancing the customer experience, data analytics capabilities, and eco-friendliness make them an ideal choice for businesses looking to stay ahead in a rapidly changing business environment. Embracing iPad POS systems is not just a technological choice but a strategic move to position businesses for success in the evolving business landscape.
