I'm honestly not bothered by Portwell's shipping Mack and Gina because they are doing exactly what I expected lol. Portwell's have always been very transparent.

I remember posting on here during season 3 if people ship Gina and EJ because they actually like them or if they just did it because it kept Ricky and Gina apart, it certainly seemed like the latter to me. The reason for making that post was because I got the feeling that many Portwell's were just undercover Rini's shipping Gina and EJ together because of the same fact that it meant keeping Ricky and Gina away from each other. I got some responses to that post denying that was case and that they actually really did like Portwell for legit reasons, which is fair enough. However, after the season 3 finale and the way it ended with Ricky and Gina kissing, my suspicions seemed justified because Portwell's started posting the Rini finale kiss from season 1 comparing the two. Even that hqportwell twitter page was tweeting about Rini and Portwell's liking a bunch of Rini posts, the likes are visible to the public people if your account isn't private lol.

Also, after season 3 all I saw from Portwell's was that the show made Gina totally different from season 2 and that she was not the same. Mind you these comments were only made once she broke up with EJ and kissed Ricky, funny that. If you actually cared about Gina as a character and actually understood her you would realize she was not her actual self in season 2. I mean, Gina had a song called Balance in season 3 where she mentions that the real her is going to shine, not the old her (season 1) or the 2.0 her (season 2) but the combined version. Also Sofia even mentioned in an interview how Gina wasn't herself in season 2, she knows her character better than anyone else. Let's be honest, yall only liked her in 2b once she cut off Ricky because it meant she was no longer a threat to Rini. Even during season 3 I remember people shipping Ricky with Jet and Val but once the show started hinting at him and Gina again it changed, all of a sudden it was Ricky needs therapy before he is with someone else lol. If Ricky needs therapy before getting in another relationship because of his home life, why was it/is it not the same for EJ? Is his relationship with his dad not terrible and strained? He should be in therapy as well according to yall instead of being in a relationship. This way of thinking is also very dumb, to suggest that someone who needs or is in therapy can't also be in a relationship or in love.

So, this was a long way of saying that I'm not surprised that Portwell's/Rini's/Jolivia's are shipping Gina with Mack because they have always been very transparent. They don't care about Gina or her happiness, they care about her not being with Ricky be any means necessary. This was obvious by immediately blaming Gina for everything during and after season 3 while believing EJ handled everything perfectly. Once Gina was not paired with EJ anymore, propping him up or giving him more screen time they went back to hating her. I know it can be annoying for some people to see Gina being shipped with Mack but try not to let it get to you, they refused to see or just didn't understand the story the show was telling with Ricky and Gina since the homecoming episode. This fandom has a big media literacy problem.

While I love Rina, Gina is more than just who she is with. I think she is the best character on the show, she is super talented and a star. I'm excited too see the show finally dive into more detail on her home life with her mom and how that has affected her.

jk alright it was SO TRAGIC when ej canceled in the most awkward way possible i had to pause like five times to make it through the scene

and OMG thank god that miscommunication shit only lasted for this ep, bless ashlyn for helping clear that up. and omg gina WENT FOR IT AHHHH YES GIRL GET THE HOT CARING BOYF U DESERVE i can’t believe they cut to black before portwell kissed but PORTWELL IS CANON so i’ll take it :DDDD

lmao i am so tired of miss jenn being a shit teacher like i get stress but that’s not an excuse for being shitty. u could tell she felt bad for telling ricky to jump off smth high but she never actually said “im sorry” to him so thats p sus. also when carlos and seb went to get their cards signed and she was like “when ME and zack perform” instead of including the whole cast i cant deal w her self centered ass

on that note i mean im kinda glad they decided to drop out of the menkies cause that choice to enter at all was so last minute and really it was all for miss jenn’s benefit and not the kids’ at all so im glad they just went lol fuck it at the end even if it (literally) burned most of what the season was building up to

im glad gina and nini rlly cleared the air and gina was so right that nini has been rlly supportive of everyone and lifting them up so it was rlly cool when gina did so in turn, lifting up nini’s music career by connecting her w jamie which i am SO EXCITED FOR THEM TO EXPLORE if theres a season 3

also second chances (the song) WAS SO GOOD like it oozed parallels between ricky and gina (not sure of who they are anymore) and ej and nini (starting a new journey and just as scared to fly as they are to fall) along w prob a bunch of other stuff i didn’t pick up on as well

honestly if we get a season 3 it better start w ricky telling us him and lily tried dating for a month and then broke up cause that shit was weird??? like at the very end of the ep too??? it could have worked but they just shoehorned in some awkward convos and idk it feels way too forced and one sided for me to get behind i dunno

i’m so sick of yall blaming gina for her and ej’s messy relationship when it was not her fault at all. i’m looking at you portwell/ej fans. yes, ej was under a lot of pressure from being the director but you have to understand he was putting 0 effort into his relationship with gina and was making petty, rude remarks at ricky which were also indirectly towards gina herself. it is NOT gina’s responsibility to heal ej’s insecurities that stem from his dad or give him the time of day when he won’t give it back, she shouldn’t have to put up with that, especially since it’s her first relationship. in the breakup, she quite literally lists the reasons and ej still does not utter a single apology for his actions throughout the summer or for making her feel ignored. ej is not a bad guy but he has a lot of work to do with his relationships because there seems to be a pattern of him blaming his own self-destructive actions on other people.

God, sometimes I venture out of my little corner of the fandoms Im in and get slapped in the face with a cesspool of ugliness and hatred and I remember why I stay in my little corner. (Like I dont follow the main show tag for some of them because it genuinely isnt fun to be bombarded with all the condescending and mean-spirited comments)

Why cant people just let people enjoy the things they like without constantly shitting on them endlessly? So I've got some thoughts I wanna share about the following pic:

I can't be the only one who thinks Val is clearly not looking at Kourtney, right? It seems her eyes are focused on Gina in the front row. Before getting to that, Kourt's stance is giving all kinds of Elsa vibes! ❄ I really hope she gets to shine as the lead this season. 😁🤩

Now, I suspect Gina and Ashlyn are sitting front row (I recognize her braids, and she's wearing pink!🥰💖, and you can see the slightest peek of Ash's bright red hair next to Gina's shoulder 😊). While everyone's watching Kourt's audition, it seems Val's watching Gina. It's totally possible this particular instance may not actually be included in the scene that airs, so this could mean nothing. But let's just pretend it's a part of the scene for funsies. LOL😅🤷🏽‍♀️ I'm wondering what y'all think this look from Val to Gina could mean? Is she sizing her up? Could this be a potential rivalry? Any jealousy on the horizon? Did EJ ask Val to consider Gina for the lead, but Kourtney is killing her audition so she's conflicted? (Not that I think EJ would do this. He may just suggest it, but nothing nearly as bad as last year with the deviled egg 😓 hehe) What are y'all thinking? 🤔

I'm sorry but why do I have to feel bad and be understanding for EJ about him dealing with the production in season 3 and the pressure from his father when that same grace wasn't given to Ricky during season 2? I seen a lot of yall putting most of the blame for his failings in season 3 on Gina, like what? Siding with the white male and putting all the blame on the teenage girl, just nasty. Ricky was being bashed all up and down the timeline during season 2 on here and twitter for how he was acting while he was dealing with his messed up home situation. EJ stans were having a blast laughing all up and down the timeline about it, don't make me post the receipts. That shit that happened to EJ is karma for how yall were acting about Ricky during season 2, but you want people to give him grace and understanding for his situation.... pleeeaaassssse be for real! Bunch of hypocrites.

I never forgot when that women went at people (Rina's) on twitter for a harmless video of fans asking questions to Matt, yet couldn't take the time to send out a tweet telling off Portwell's (undercover Rini's) about how they were treating Sofia. This girl was like 16 when she posted that tweet about having Gina and Rina fans back and she had to delete it because of how nasty people responded to that, which included plenty of racism. So she will put on a cape for a white male but nothing for the the girl of color. I guess she can't call out Portwell's though because that would be essentially biting the hand that feeds her, can't call them out because she needs them to read her articles and like her posts smh. Coming on here saying #JusticeForEJ like please have some shame.

You can't expect me to feel bad for EJ when yall stans of his were having a good old laugh up and down the timeline during season 2 about Ricky's situation. After seeing yall do that? You want others to feel bad for EJ? Yeah it's a no from me.

All of you also come on here and twitter saying this and that about Rina's like yall weren't absolutely disgusting to them during season 1 and 2. It was a pretty small part that were even Rina's at that time too, yet yall say Rina is fanservice even though that pairing was the most hated because it threatened Rini. Now you want to play innocent and act like the way Rina's come at you guys isn't karma for how yall treated them. i've been thinking about who might say i love you first, and what the situation might be. and one of my favorite possibilities at the moment is that its so casual no one notices.

like picture this: their at camp, by the lake or something. Feet submerged in water, swinging back and forth creating ripples across the surface. Gina's head rests against his shoulder, and they aren't talking about anything in particular. Just muttering things that come to mind now and then otherwise enjoying the companionable silence.

Then Ashlyn calls her over bc of a question about the choreography Gina and she quickly scrambles up, and pulls her hair into a bun. She lightly kisses EJ on the cheek and is like, 'let me handle this, i'll be right back.' and He nods, a small smile forming as she picks up her back pack and turns. but EJ takes her hand kisses her again, making her giggle, 'bye, i love you!' she exclaims before running towards ashlyn.

and none of them realize what she's said at first, bc it happened so fast. but after a moment EJ's like 'what?'

WE GETTIN A MISCOMMUNICATION TO LOVE CONFESSION TROPE Y’ALL! although i did nearly start crying in fear when the jamie/ej scene happened, after some thought, this has to be what the whole “Gina speaks her truth” thing is about in 2x12. ej is gonna be scared and retreat into himself on their date/cancel it altogether and gina will admit her feelings! all gina’s mom and jamie know about ej is that they’re friends from theatre and he picked her up at the airport, nothing crazy there. WE know so much more, hence the miscommunication! it’s gonna be good y’all we gettin our endgame
