FINAL POLL OF ROUND 1
Propaganda
Hedy Lamarr (Samson and Delilah, Ziegfeld Girl)—Look. I'm sure someone has already submitted Hedy Lamarr because she was spectacularly beautiful, and a very strong lady too: she fled both an abusive marriage AND nazi persecution at a very young age and rebuilt a life for herself pursuing her love for acting all on her own!! Her career as an actress was stellar; while she began acting outside of Hollywood (her very first movie, Ecstasy, won a prize at the Venice Film Festival), she conquered American hearts very quickly with her first movie in the US, Algiers, and then just kept getting better and better. If all this isn't enough, she was also an inventor: her invention of the frequency-hopping spread spectrum radio transmission technique forms the base of bluetooth and has a lot of applications in all kinds of communication technologies. I think that deserves a prize, don't you?
Sonja Henie (Thin Ice, Happy Landing)—no idea if she counts, she's a famous skater more than anything else, but count her for the lols and i'll send you some thin mints
This is round 1 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut]
Hedy Lamarr:
The only person you can find both on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and in the Inventor's Hall of Fame--her radio-frequency-hopping technology forms the basis for cordless phones, wi-fi, and a dozen other aspects of modern life. She was also passionate in her efforts to aid the Allies in WWII (unsurprising for a Jewish-Austrian Emigree to America), and her name served as the backbone for one of the best running jokes in what is possibly Mel Brooks' best movie. Look, Louis B. Mayer apparently believed he could plausibly promote her as "The world's most beautiful woman". Is an entire website full of people going to be less audacious than one Louis B. Mayer? I didn't think so!
Described as "Hedy has the most incredible personal sophistication. She knows the peculiarly European art of being womanly; she knows what men want in a beautiful woman, what attracts them, and she forces herself to be these things. She has magnetism with warmth, something that neither Dietrich nor Garbo has managed to achieve" by Howard Sharpe, she managed to escape her controlling husband (and Nazi Germany) by a) Disguising as her maid and fleeing to Paris or b) Convincing the husband to let her wear all of her jewelry to a dinner, only to disappear afterwards. Also she was particularly clever and helped develop Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum (I can't really explain it but anyway...)
One of the most beautiful women ever in film, spoken by many critics and fans. Beautiful shapely figure, deeper seductive voice, and often played femme fatale roles. She was also brilliant and an inventor. Mainly self-taught, she invested her spare time, including on set between takes, in designing and drafting inventions, which included an improved traffic stoplight and a tablet that would dissolve in water to create a flavored carbonated drink, and much more.
Her depiction of Delilah and Samson and Delilah just lives rent free in my head. The woman was gorgeous.
Gorgeous and brilliant pioneer of modern technology and the middle part.

If you are struggling with manifestation and how it truly works, go watch this video. This is a GAME CHANGER!
She puts emphasis on this, what ever you truly believe to be true is completely true no matter what (that is with every single thoughts ever).
Here are many commus example:
Subliminals truly works if you believe that it works and vice versa
Tarot card reading truly work and can even take power over you if you believe it can take power over. But if you believe that it doesn’t do shit then it doesn’t do shit.
If you don’t have it you’ll have better! Babe please. This is not fucking true if you want this SP then believe that no matter fucking what, you have him. Please acknowledge that whenever you say things like that it becomes true.
She is also saying that your emotion (energy in motion) is a manifestation, NOT THE CAUSE OF A MANIFESTATION. This one really opened my eyes so when you feel a certain type of way, I say to myself this feeling/ emotion is a manifestation from a thought that I was thinking in the past, so you can dismiss because I chose to believe something that I want to believe. And POUFFF that negative feeling gets the fuck away.
Your inner dialogue same things as your thoughts are the ONE AND ONLY REASON WHY YOU ARE WHERE YOU ARE.
LET ME REPEAT YOUR THOUGHTS, YOU INNER DIALOGUES ARE THE ONE AND ONLY REASON WHY YOU ARE WHERE YOU ARE!!!!!
Stop listening to others that are not telling you this main belief please.
Anyways love each one of you take care beautiful princesses🎀

I'd like more music recs, please. I'm checking out the few you listed and 👌🏾
Mandatory mention of the classic "Daughterson" by Joe Stevens
"Am I Here" by Jay Page was one of the core songs of a really weird summer experience (ironically in which I dissociated a lot lol) I had so I remember it fondly. He also made Invincible which is written in honor of his younger self.
"Aventura" by Mavi Phoenix FUCKS. His music videos are also really well made. I also like "World's End" from his most recent album.
saint hills has made quite a bit of rap! "Home", "Lavender", "Michelangelo," and "Quit My Job" are some hits for me
"Chartreuse" by Boy Jr. is funky as hell, and you may have seen some of their joke songs on TikTok or Instagram
John-Allison Weiss!! he made I Was an Island which I was obsessed with when I was younger & then I found out he's a trans guy!! His song "Different Now" is fucking amazing. Strong transgender energy without any lyrics explicitly referencing it.
TOBRE is really good for anyone interested sexually explicit trannyfag hyperpop.
"Hindsight Cinema" by Zann Foth is very chill & he has a unique voice that makes it just very nice to listen to. Kind of elevator music energy? Also "I Hate Reaching Out" and "Surprise"
"Sweet Cis Teen" by Dazey and the Scouts. Just a banger. To be trans is to be your own pallbearer!
"Brothers" by Skylar Kergil always makes me feel warm, its very "tboys supporting tboys" <3
"Good Man" and "Brother" by Grayson are two I found very recently! His music is very crisp.
Artists I mentioned in that other post but I'm gonna mention here too:
Anjimile is just such a wonderful artist!!! The King is a beautiful album with great visuals & "Animal" is an extremely powerful song. "Sonja Smokes Me Out" & "Baby No More" are also great. I need everyone to give this man his flowers yesterday
"Shook (Transformed)" by Cuee is a really catchy & really sweet love song, and "Proud Boi" is an explicit trans(masc) pride song!
Everything Beverly Glenn-Copeland makes is wonderful. Its great seeing an older trans man, one who transitioned after building a name for himself, and also hearing his voice in his newest album in comparison to his earlier ones. His songs just make you feel like your soul is being wrapped in a blanket. "The Colour of Anyhow", "La Vita", "People of the Loon"
Dreamer Isioma has their fucking aesthetic (dreamy afrofuturism) DOWN. His music videos (esp. for the Princess Forever album) are all super well done and feel very unique to them.
Malaika Mfalme's album "Yasmin" is dedicated to their late partner and you can feel that love and grief throughout the songs. I recommend checking out this article where they go through the meanings behind each song. "Good Man" is specifically about learning to love masculinity as a positive force.

Rating Rune Factory Children
(Because I play favorites)
Rune Factory (1)
1/10
Cute but not much else to say. You have to wait a ridiculous amount of in-game time to get one short cutscene meeting your genderless nameless child (Game doesn't even bother to give them pronouns) and then never get to interact with them again. Disappointing.
Rune Factory 2
8/10
A unique idea that the series has yet to implement again, this game let you play through the second half of the game AS your child from the first half, and honestly It was a cool concept even if the gameplay got a little wonky and unbalanced near the end. The game also introduced the first female protagonist to the series, Aria (left). She and her twin Aaron (right) actually had some personality of their own and even had unique interactions with the other villagers and children of the town. Cool concept and solid designs. I just wish you could interact with them a little more as a parent before the timeskip.
Rune Factory Frontier
7/10
I may be a little biased here, as this was my intro to Rune Factory, but I love these kids. Default names; Leif and Leona, are the first, and so far only, RF children you can interact with at multiple stages, these kids have several cutscenes documenting different milestones and are quite cute to watch. Once they reach the final stage, they don't do much besides toddle around the farm and look cute. You can gift them certain items but that's about it. Still, It's refreshing to watch your kid grow over time as apposed to the usual montage you get with RF kids.
Rune Factory 3/ Rune Factory 3 Special
3/10
They get bonus points for being the first in the series to let you have multiple kids (up to three) problem is, there's not much difference between em. The birth of each one plays about the same and while there's technically some different "personalities" it's more like each kid get a random lot of four or so unique lines of dialogue and that's it. There are also just the two sprites so if you have two or more of either gender they'll be identical, no matter the age difference. You can't gift them and they don't sleep, leave the house or even show up on the map. Honestly they're little more than cute house accessories.
Rune Factory Tides of Destiny/ Rune Factory Oceans
4/10
First off, please pardon the crappy quality. This game doesn't have traditional character portraits so it's hard to find decent quality pics. Tides of Destiny kiddos were the first in the series to inherit physical features from the player's spouse. (Pictured are Electra's daughter and Sonja's son) They appear to use the same child models as Frontier with some minor cosmetic changes but I liked Frontier's kids so no complaints there. I do wish they had real portraits and more dialogue but they're okay. At least they'll accept gifts and the events leading up to their births are quite wholesome.
Rune Factory 4/Rune Factory 4 Special
9/10
RF4's kids are darn near perfect. Luna and Noel have identical dialogue but they have more to say than any RF kids before or possibly since. There are TONS of unique exchanges and events with them, they participate in festivals, and most interesting of all, you can equip them with gear and take them adventuring! These babies are really something special. If I had to pick one complaint, I'd say I wish they looked liiiittle more like their concept art. They look like they both got aged up a little, which isn't bad but they do look barely younger than some of their possible parents...
Rune Factory 5
9.5/10
Rune Factory 5's children are right up there with Noel and Luna, but they get a slight advantage when it comes to customization. Like RF3 this game lets you have up to three kids, but unlike that game, these kiddos are treated like actual characters. Depending on your choice of spouse and your answers in a particular conversation, your kids can have a variety of looks and personalities, including the fan favorite feature of inheriting hair and eye colors from the spouse, and continuing along that customization train, these babies can once again go adventuring! My one, one small gripe...It'd be nice if your eldest could grow a little by the time their siblings are born. Heck, it'd be cool if the villagers kids could grow too. I'd love to see teenaged Julian and Hina~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So there's my thoughts on the Rune Factory children. I hope future installments continue the trend of more giving their kids more personality and better customization, maybe someday we'll even see kiddos inherit traits from non-human parents? How cool would that be if your kid could actually look half elf or mermaid or furry wereanimal? XD
If you agree with me (or strongly disagree) feel free to comment. Always up for discussing my favorite franchise~
[ENG translation] Joker Out singer opens up about kissing on set and other details of the new film
Interview with Bojan Cvjetićanin and Katja Predan. Original article was written by Sonja Javornik for Novice Svet24, published on 6.1.2024. English translation by @varianestoroff, proof read by TWT klámstrákur.
The new Slovenian film 'Kaj pa Ester?' is targeted primarily at teenage audiences, but Tosja Flaker Bercet's fun, relaxed film will also appeal to older audiences. And it looks like the film will be a hit not only in Slovenia, but also abroad, as fans of Joker Out from all over Europe are waiting for the film to come to their cinemas - the male protagonist is played by the much-loved Bojan Cvjetićanin.
Bojan Cvjetićanin and Katja Predan are the leading actors of the new teen movie 'Kaj pa Ester?' (Photo by Šimen Zupančič)
In 2021, after a long search for the main character, the director invited Bojan Cvjetićanin, the lead singer of a band that was on the verge of success at the time, to audition. Today, Bojan would not have had time to record due to concerts in Europe and other projects (their new album and concert film 'Live From Arena Stožice' is available on www.jokeroutband.com), but back then, it was not a problem for him, so we can admire him in the film alongside the excellent Katja Predan and other young co-stars.
The film is about Ester, who is not pleased when she discovers that her ex-boyfriend, who wants to rebuild their romance, has enrolled at the same high school. Kaj (played by Bojan) tries to show his love for her with romantic gestures, but his moves impress his classmates more than Ester. Ester finds herself in a difficult situation, as her classmates are mean to her because they think she should give Kaj a second chance, but instead she agrees with a friend to act like a lesbian couple... The Ljubljana premiere of the film took place at Cinemaplexx and the whole crew came to see it. Before that, we had the exclusive opportunity to talk to the two main actors. Bojan was five minutes late, but given his frenetic schedule and mild cold, we didn't blame him. Over tea, he and Katja were happy to look back on the filming and joked around, jumping into each other and generally getting on well.
Katja, you are 24 years old and finishing your third year of film directing studies at AGRFT¹.
I'm still one exam away...
So you prefer to be behind the camera than in front of it?
Actually, it was good in front of the camera too. (smiles)
How did you get this role?
That's a good story! I was waiting for a friend who was half an hour late for a drink. But I was sitting at another table, with a friend from high school, when Tosja joined us. He introduced himself, and I told him I knew him. He told me they needed another actress because they were filming something and offered me to come and try it out. I wasn't interested at first, but then I thought that it must be a short film and it wasn't that big of a commitment. When I arrived, I found out that I was auditioning for the main role!
Do you have previous acting experience?
I was in a theatre group, I acted in a play, and then I started directing. That was in the first year of high school. In college I acted in our rehearsals when we were filming, but now I hope to get another chance.
In the interview, Bojan and Katja also revealed - he had his first crush in kindergarten, she had her first boyfriend in high school. (Photo by Šimen Zupančič)
What kind of projects do you want to do as a director?
The ones where people talk a lot (laughs). I'm interested in love themes and situations where nothing special happens and the relationship gets boring.
What was it like working with Bojan?
We've worked together very little because we split up in the film, so we're not a couple anymore. We had two rehearsals together and they were very nice. But we did hang out a little bit.
Can we even project ourselves into the film? The plot itself is absurd, because you want to break up with Bojan - the Bojan who is currently the idol of young girls in this country and in Europe!
Tosja, please write what happened before that! (laughs) Surely Ester had a good reason to leave him.
Have you been dumped by a girlfriend in real life?
Bojan: Absolutely! I wouldn't say I was dumped because I didn't have many girlfriends. But I have been rejected...
So could this happen to you?
Yes, especially when I was as old as Kaj.
How did you land in the film as an actor?
I've always been interested in playing, but due to time constraints, I can't commit to it much, even if I wanted to. When I was invited to audition, I had a free summer. I'm a fan of the series 'V dvoje', one of the writers of is our director Tosja, and the creator was Luka Marčetič, who then also worked on the film, and there are a few other crew members as well. It was an honour to be able to work with them because they created my favourite series.
They don't hide that it was a lot of fun on the set: "We had as much fun as we could. It was relaxing." Photo by Šimon Zupančič
In the film, you are exactly as you were in real life - they haven't even changed your hairstyle. How so?
I have a lot of contracts that say I can't change it. (laughs) No, it's a joke! Tosja was pleased with my appearance. The film is interesting because the 15-year-olds are played by 20-year-olds and older.
How much time do you have now that you are a European music star?
To be honest, very little. Three days ago I returned from the last tour of the year. I have a cold, of course, so it would be very convenient if I had a couple of days to lie down, but I have the whole premiere day today and tomorrow, a concert on Saturday, and on Sunday we go back to the studio for a week. Then we've got a few more gigs, then we're moving to London for two months, and then we've got a one-month tour. Then we'll probably go to Germany for a month to record the album, and then we'll have another tour soon...
We won't see you much.
Exactly, because there's too much of me everywhere now. (smiles)
How was it on set?
Bojan: It was great for me because I knew the whole team from before.
How did you and Ester* meet? (*T/N: They probably meant Katja)
Bojan: Through mutual friends, maybe even through Mila...
Katja: Haven't we known each other since primary school? Or from the audition for Vičstock?
Bojan: Yes, indeed! Katja was one of the organisers of Vičstock at Vič high school, and I was in one of the bands that wanted to play at the festival. And we did play at Vičstock. We actually know each other from ninth grade - like our characters in the film.
The stars of the new Slovenian teen movie shared with us some interesting facts from the filming of it. (Photo by Šimen Zupančič)
What are you willing to do for love, Bojan? Because your character is very committed in the film to get Ester back.
I have a little wish to find love again, for which I would be willing to do such a big thing. It seems to me that I have not felt that since primary school or the beginning of high school.
Was your first love fatal? Like Kaj's?
Katja: Yes!
Bojan: In my opinion, yes.
And how did your first love end?
Bojan: Ask me if I have a girlfriend.
Do you have one?
Bojan: No. (laughs) I told you that I have been rejected in the past. But I had my first love in kindergarten.
Katja: I remember my first boyfriend from high school. We, of course, had to hide our relationship from everyone, in case we broke up afterwards and embarrassed ourselves. That way nobody knew we were in love and nobody asked anything when it was over.
Have you ever hidden your love?
Bojan: No, I'm like an open book.
Did you have fun during the filming or were you focused the whole time?
Bojan: We had as much fun as we could. It was relaxing.
Katja: I just remember that Diana and I used to rehearse scenes and kiss all the time, thinking that that would keep us in the role...
Have you also been kissing a lot?
Bojan: All the time, but only when the camera was on (laughs).
What did you think of the script?
Katja: For me, the biggest question was why they went their separate ways in the first place, but looking back, I understand Ester more and more.
Bojan: (playing offended) What are you trying to say?
Katja: (laughs) Yeah, he was probably too fixated on her.
What are the differences between you and your characters?
Bojan: The biggest difference is that as a young boy, I was not a loner like Kaj over the years. Kaj wanted to spend time with Ester more than anything, and I see the key problem with their relationship as the fact that it started to suffocate Ester. Ester, in my opinion, wanted to get away from this one-to-one, one-person, all-day contact. Of course, we're young in the film and you have doubts about your first real romantic relationship, but it started to suffocate Ester...
Katja: ...that there is nothing else.
Bojan: Anyway - Ester is not cool, neither is Kaj. She sits at home and plays 'Krofki'² ('Doughnuts').
What do you do in your free time now?
Katja: I like to read and I'm quite similar to Ester in terms of my nerdiness.
Bojan: I like reading too. If I have time during the day to do something, I like to relax as actively as possible, ride a horse or go-kart, fish... In short, something to get the energy out of me. I'm not good at fishing at all, but it calms me down a lot.
Do you like being so busy, travelling so much?
I wouldn't say I have a big problem with the workload. But it is very tiring to travel a lot. Some of the tours have been designed so that we travel by tour bus, which means that I can sleep in a bed in the bus all night between locations and at least be rested the next day.
But is it good quality sleep?
For me, it is the best in the world and I am thinking about how to recreate this rocking coffin at home. Very small and tight, but the best. But if the connections on the tour are by plane, like we had now, for example, when we flew ten times in seven days, it means you only get about four hours sleep a day. And that exhausts you.
What about packing each time?
I've already got it all worked out! Now I don't even take things out of suitcases, I take the shirt from the top and put the dirty things in a bag somewhere at the bottom. I have two big suitcases at home to change.
¹The Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (Akademija za Gledališče, Radio, Film in Televizijo) is the only higher education institution in Slovenia that trains at university level for professions in theatre, film, radio and television.
²The game 'Krofki' is a made up videogame, played by characters in the movie.
I just finished watching Skam (Norway) today and let’s just say I’m not kidding when I say this is one of the BEST shows I’ve ever watched. I did take a lot of time to watch all the seasons (spanning over one year) but I enjoyed each and every moment of it. Well, some a little less than others. Hence, I have some thoughts and please forgive my yapping.
Okay so Season 1. I actually liked it quite a lot. The acting was good, and it gave a nice start to the whole story.
The getting together of the girls was the highlight obviously, but I really liked the portrayal of Eva in this, as a kind of lost teenager who doesn’t have a lot of direction in her life and is mostly dependent on her boyfriend.
I did think the Isak plot line in this was a little badly done, but I guess it was necessary for the big reveal in the end.
I think the fact that Eva was able to resolve things with Ingrid was very unrealistic, considering they had literally been besties and she basically stole her man. But really idk.
Talking about Jonas, he was majorly gaslighting Eva during the season so I think their relationship was a little immature. Classic right person wrong time.
Penetrator Chris is SO HOT. Especially in that mf smoky eye makeup istg. But he’s a giant asshole and we do not support him.
Season 2. Okay. First let’s start with the showstealer. Eskild my man. I don’t think Eskild is appreciated enough in the whole series but I absolutely love him!! He is so mature, and is such a good friend. I love the dynamic between him and Noora and even him and Linn.
Now let’s address the elephant in the room because why not? I did not like Noorhelm all that much. William never had much of a character development and we never get to see him expressing a lot of emotions. I forever stand by the opinion that Noora was too good for him. Many people talk about William’s support of Noora’s decision to not have sex, but really, that’s like settling for the bare minimum that can be expected from a decent person.
I think the dickhead of a brother had more personality than William. So in conclusion, season 2 did not really impress me but I’d watch it again for Eskild.
Eva hooking up with Chris?? The guy she cheated on her ex with? Can’t say I like this.
Season 3 is SO well done. There’s no question about it. I love Isak’s slow acceptance of his sexuality. From being a closeted gay guy who made homophobic comments to fit in, to a happy and out gay guy in a relationship.
Absolutely adore the boys. Jonas, Mahdi, Magnus. I especially loved Magnus and his take on the whole situation.
Eskild coming in and stealing the show yet again?!!
Emma and Sonja are VICTIMS. As much as I love Evak, they fucked their girlfriends over pretty bad and I hate them for it. Also, Emma is soooooooooo pretty.
The story of Even. His whole character portrayal. The picturisation of his mental issues. Chef’s kiss.
Minute by minute??? Are you trying to kill me here??? It is SO wholesome and they both have matured so much, especially Isak, dealing with his sexuality plus his boyfriend’s mental issues so delicately.
Their chemistry. Their chemistry. Their chemistry.
Sonja should NOT have apologised.
Overall, this season is tied with the fourth as my favourite.
Season 4. Sana is my favourite character hands down. She is portrayed so well, we see all her insecurities, beliefs so beautifully.
Yousana is my favourite couple. Evak is a close second.
The understanding between them, the intellectual conversations, the level of maturity. Just wondrous.
I did think the whole situation with the russ bus was overdone. I never really understood why Sana was so involved with it in the first place. This could easily have been summed up in one episode leaving time for more Yousana development.
Yousef is such a green flag omg. He’s literally the cutest out of all skam boys( my opinion). I just wish he had more screen time.
Elias and Sana??? Whatever bits and pieces we got to see of their relationship were GOLD.
I. Love. My. Girls. So. Much. I just wish Sana was shown interacting more with all of them, not just Noora. Also Yousef and Noora working together to thaw Sana??
I canNOT stress this enough. Yousef and Sana are the best couple ( besides Evak obviously). The chemistry, the flirting, everything was done so right that it got me blushing furiously through the screen. And they managed to do all this without showing any kind of physical contact. Just lovely. The way they counter each other’s opinions with such delicacy and respect makes me believe that they are definitely going to last.
The situation with Even and Mikael and all the balloon squad boys should have been given more screen time.
The way Sana’s faith and her relationship with her family were handled are commendable. We see the dilemma, the cogs of her brain working, and how she accepts her fate and doesn’t sway from her beliefs. I strongly believe that her and Yousef will handle their differences maturely and still come out to be a strong couple.
I SWEAR SHE AND I ARE SOULMATES?????? Cutest shit I’ve ever seen.
Sana and Isak’s friendship means so much to me. In Season 3, we see her rising above her opinions and respecting homosexuality. Here we see Isak figuring Sana out and helping her see beyond her strong opinions. And wdym Sana??? You are best buds.
Okay. The last episode. I absolutely loved it. It’s one of the best season finales I’ve ever watched. We go into the lives of all the girls and some of the guys too. I literally teared up at the Eskild and Linn part!!( idk why they still address Chris as penetrator Chris when his face is literally on the screen like people we know it’s not our girl?? Idk I find it extremely funny). I wish they had shown more of Vilde and Chris’ friendship in the past and not just the final episode. The Even part was absolutely incredible. His insecurities, his fears, and we see him pacifying Isak and not the other way around. Yousef texting Sana from Turkey?? And saying he’ll take her there?? My heart melted.
I literally don’t think Noorhelm is going to last long even though they have reconciled. Something just seems off. Joneva is back??? Didn’t really like the buildup but I guess they could be a good couple as they are more mature than the last time.
Okay. So that sums it up more or less. My favourite was season 4, closely followed by season 3. My favourite characters were Sana and Eskild, they were just so amazing. I related to Sana fiercely all through the show.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk. Feel free to give your own opinions please!!!!
Rhaenys chuckling as she watches Sonja try to bury her face against corlys's chest as the pleasure overwhelms her.
"I think our poor thing would have been too shy" she smirks looking up at corlys, pretty hand sinking into Sonja's hair to pull her face Back to watch her expression as she falls apart.
"ah-I-please" Sonja can only gasp. Feeling Corlys's cock pressing against her stomach she feels a shiver run down her spine.
"oh you remember how I took you? You'll never forget those nights" corlys says curling his fingers deeper
Sonja could only blush some more at Rhaenys' words. It was all too much; she had missed his touch just as much and now she was overwhelmed.
A soft gasp escaped her at the tug of her hair and she finally locked eyes with the Princess. Her pretty lips parted with moans as he only quickened her fingers. Those big eyes of hers began to roll.
"She squealed..fuck, oh we did not leave the bed for days, did we, sweet love?" Corlys purred; pressing against her stomach some more as he began to tease her clit with his thumb.
Ah, there's nothing better than starting the day by making a list of things to-do that I'll inevitably not get done.
Except I have to wash and style Sonja's (one of my Barbies) hair. I impulsively combed out her curls last night and now Sis is IN NEED of me to finish what I was doing.
Is it just me or is she looking at me like
😱😂 So, I shall give Sonja what will hopefully be a bit of a glow-up from the atrocity that I did to her hair last night. (I know I shouldn't have combed out the curls dry, I didn't intend to but I deboxed her and was just kinda finger combing her curls and the next thing I knew... madness had occurred. 😶😉 Now, if I'd been GOING for that look, it would've been super rad but as that, no, I wasn't... Yeah, I was in the wrong on this one. So sorry, Sonja. Please forgive me for hair-styling without a clue license. 🥺)
Anyway, wish me and Sonja luck! 🤞😣🤞💖
PS - If Sonja looks familiar, you may have seen this previous post...
Riz with bonus Kai! 😉
And no, Sonja is not Riz. I got her twin sister 😉 on sale with the intention of changing her hair. I love the original style but I've also seen some cool restyles and wanted to try. I, um, need to TRY BETTER next time. Hopefully a lovely "after" pic to follow soon! 🤞😣🤞💖
#barbie#doll#barbie spotlight#ais shouldn't be allowed to try to style doll hair#ais sucks at that#but practice makes perfect right?#🤞😣🤞#sonja#ageless aislynn#ais' sonja
Honeycake
I sat along a dusty alley, watching carriages clatter by with bitterness. Today had been a slow day. Nobody with their pockets hanging loose, or a purse that was begging to be nabbed. No, all these stingy old bastards were clutching their belongings to themselves. Fake nobility, the whole lotta ‘em. All I managed to stea- Ahem, I mean procure, was a grimy brass locket. And what was a woman supposed to do with such slim pickings?
That was when he showed up. Almost feminine in his features, with a distinct air of elfin grace. A proper high noble, it looked. I eyed his coat, hunting for the telltale bulge of a wallet. Of course, because it was just that sorta day, there was none.
"Bugger it all,” I mumbled. It looked like I was skipping the beer tonight. The cashless noble paused at the entrance to my alley and sniffed. His pampered nose probably couldn't stand the scent of reality, I thought bitterly. Then he strode in, walking to stand over me.
Instantly, I pulled up my coat. Noblemen walking into dark alleys never meant anything good. They were always looking for whores, drug dealers or assassins, and I was none of ‘em. I scuttled aside, hoping he was looking for someone else, but he said, “Hello. Miss Bella, daughter of Rose, daughter of Sonja, yes?”
I twitched slightly. Why did bad things come in heaps? Was he a copper, come sniffing about my little alley in search of Bella-the-thief? “Dunno whatcha talkin' ‘bout, milord. I nevva ‘eard of no Bella, and me mam, sure as Ako knows, wassn no Rose,” I said, praying he wouldn't push further.
The noble pressed his lips together. “I see,” he said, looking down at me, faintly amused. “Well, did you write this, Miss Not-Bella?”
Ah, crap. I knew learning to write would haunt me someday. My mother had, in fact, been Rose-the-baker, and she had brought me to Ako's temple to learn to write. The priestesses there watched as I drew squiggles in the dirt, learning from Ako's Word. They taught me other things too. Like how to pick locks, how to lie through your teeth, and how to steal without getting caught. Great people, Ako's priestesses were. But then the gov'nor of Jannik decided they made too much trouble, and burnt their temple down, and hunted all their followers.
And of course, the easiest way to find a follower of Ako was by looking for lowborn who could write and used His name in their cusses. “Damn,” I said, not bothering to look at the paper. “Milord, I dunno howta write. Nevva even touched a piece o' paper in my life.”
The nobleman sighed. “Please, little one, stop this farce,” he said, his voice gentle. “I know you are Bella, and I mean no harm. In fact, I have come to tell you that your plea to Ako has finally been registered and granted.”
I choked on my own spittle there, and looked up at the paper. It was in my child-self's hand, awkward and emotional, little drops of tears staining and wrinkling the paper where they landed. I had written it after my mother was taken by disease, when I had just seen my tenth winter. It was a desperate prayer for safety and love that never came. I had it memorised by heart.
“Ako, I know you can't bring my mother back. But please, could you send me to a place where I will be safe and loved and have as much honeycake as I want? Your Faithful Bella, daughter of Rose, daughter of Sonja,” I read aloud, knowing the gig was up.
Yep, same letter. I looked up at the nobleman, wondering if he had been a priest at the temple. That was when I finally noticed his eyes. They were a vibrant purple, like dye freshly harvested, or a bellflower in full bloom. It was an eye colour no mortal would have. I sighed heavily. “Wait, milord. Dinnae tell me you're an Angel of Ako. I wouldn' believe ya,” I said. Maybe I'd had too much beer last night, and I'd wake up tomorrow with a horrible headache.
But the nobleman still stood there, a mildly bewildered grin on his face. “Look, little one. I am sorry it took so long to get back to you. But there were hundreds of thousands of letters, and it took so long to fulfil some of them,” he said apologetically.
I couldn't help it. I started laughing, cackling like an addict high on Bonny. “Twenty years,” I said. “You heard my pray'r twenty years later. Oh…” I looked up at him, at those utterly impossible eyes, at the depths that lay within them, and I found that I truly believed. “This has to be a dream.”
The nobleman, or angel, or hells, even Ako himself, offered me his hand. “Lady Berralis would never be so cruel, my child. Come on, now,” he coaxed, pulling me to my feet. “Come home.”
Flicking his wrist, a portal opened. The light on the other end was warm, like an eternal summer. It tore the weariness from my bones like I had soaked in the hot springs of legend, and broke the chill that had grimly settled into me. I glanced back. “Tell me,” I said. “Are you an angel? Or…"
“Or am I Ako himself?” The nobleman laughed, a sound like the sweetest honey, the deepest-flowing rivers. “Do you truly think the God of Mischief himself would tell you, little one?”
I smiled at that.
“Wait,” he said, as I put a foot into the portal. “I almost forgot this.” From the depths of his coat, he withdrew a little package.I accepted it curiously and opened it up.
“A honeycake,” I said, grinning. “All the honeycakes I could eat, eh? Takk, Milord. For everything.”
I took a big bite of the honeycake, savouring the richness, and the undercurrent of spice. A tiny part of me wondered why I wasted my money on all that beer when I could have been buying honeycakes instead, and I laughed.
Then I stepped through the portal.
The season 2 finale of The Gilded Age brought many of the show's central conflicts to a head, including whether or not The Academy or the Met would win the opera war, who the Duke of Buckingham (Ben Lamb) would choose, whether Armstrong (Debra Monk) would ever stop being a pill — and most importantly, if Larry Russell (Harry Richardson) and Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson) would ever get together.
The moment finally arrived in the season's final scenes, and it wasn't a mere chaste brush of a gloved hand either. Standing on the doorstep of the Van Rhijn household, Larry walked Marian home from a night at the opera in the early light of dawn. She promised that even with a move on the horizon, she would keep in touch with Larry. Larry's response was to kiss her, drawing a shy, pleased smile from Marian.
Executive producer and writer Sonja Warfield tells EW that the romantic moment came after she directly solicited creator Julian Fellowes. "Julian had long game plans to get them together," she says. "Back then everything was very chaste. You didn't really kiss somebody; you shook hands or something like that. So, I really did want Marian and Larry to kiss and asked Julian if they could please kiss at the end of the season. He granted me my wish."
Though Warfield warns that if they do secure a season 3 (HBO has yet to order more of The Gilded Age), it won't just be smooth sailing through the tunnel of love. Even if Marian will now have a newly empowered Ada (Cynthia Nixon) on her side against what will no doubt be objections from Agnes (Christine Baranski). "Relationships had their challenges in 1884, and they do today," she says. "The modern challenges aren't that different from those challenges. Yes, we're rooting for them. But everything will be complicated."
EW got Warfield to break down more of the finale, including Peggy's (Denée Benton) decision to leave the paper, Ada's sudden new wealth and its implications, and the possibility that Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon) has sold her daughter, Gladys (Taissa Farmiga), to a duke solely to win a society war with Mrs. Astor (Donna Murphy).
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: You all brought Ada some romance this year, only to immediately kill off poor Luke (Robert Sean Leonard). So, I have to ask, why are you so mean?
SONJA WARFIELD: Because that's drama. And back then, most of the time when people had an ache or a pain, it did mean death. I wanted to disrupt the status quo with Ada. I just adore Cynthia Nixon, and her performance was mesmerizing to me, so I wanted her to be empowered to have a love. Agnes is oppressive, and so, I wanted for her to have love and to feel loved and to understand how that helped her in the world. The heart of the show, it's about the warring classes and Ada and Agnes represent that old money, and so, they need to remain intact. That's why he couldn't stay.
Peggy decides to leave the Fortune (Sullivan Jones) paper. What will that mean for her future? She talks about a novel, but being a journalist seems like such a core part of her identity right now.
In that time period, a lot of women were writing serialized stories for newspapers, so Peggy's done some of that too. There's versatility in her writing and in her work. Listen, Fortune is great, but he's a bad influence. He drinks a little bit; he's married. Peggy has a whole future ahead of her anywhere she wants to be. So I'm excited for her.
Will she be able to stay away though?
We shall see. He is pretty cute.
Watson (Michael Cerveris) gets this happy ending where he's going to actually go and have a life with his daughter. Will we continue to follow him and how that develops in the future? Or once he leaves the Russell household, will we not really check in with him?
Now, he's going to be living as a gentleman. We've already seen Turner (Kelley Curran) cross over. Anything's possible in America at that time.
Speaking of Turner, we learn in the climax of the finale that both Bertha and George did her dirty behind the scenes, both with the opera box and learning that Bertha wrote Mrs. Astor to get the new Mrs. Winterton kicked out of the Academy. If there is a season 3, how might that come back to bite them?
Listen, she'll be conniving to take Bertha down. Turner, or Mrs. Winterton, will be in her orbit. There are crimes of opportunity that Turner will be looking out for wherever she can catch Bertha out. And remember, she was the maid and the maids know everything.
One has to assume she already is blaming the Russells for everything.
Oh, absolutely. She's a smart cookie. She knows what's going on.
Season 1 ended with this very short-lived triumph for Bertha with her party coming off. But it wasn't enough. If there is a season 3, would that be similar? She won this battle. Are there more battles for her to win?
The thing about power is that it's unquenchable. You get a taste of it, and you thirst for more. Bertha has her sights set on conquering American society.
There is a heavy implication that Bertha won the Duke of Buckingham by selling out her own daughter. Is that a fair reading of that scenario?
I think you're a smart woman and that's an astute reading. Sadly.
George also looks quite concerned with whatever might be happening with the Duke. And we did see him early in the season pledge that he was supportive of Gladys marrying someone she actually loves. So is he also suspicious? Is he still determined to stand firm to that promise?
That's something that will be tested, and we'll have to see where George and Bertha land. This season was great because we saw them, probably for the first time with their marriage, in some real jeopardy that they had not experienced before. What I loved about that is that they still emerged as this power couple, and so we'll see if they can sustain that and how much their marriage can take. Parents often want different things for their children and that can be challenging.
We've really seen the servants branch out a lot more this season, whether that be going to the opera or this overarching plot line with the alarm clock. Are we trending toward a situation conceivably where servants are leaving their profession or their power dynamic is in flux?
That's the difference between America and the U.K. You're born into a position there, but in America it's supposedly the land of opportunity. Turner married up; we'll have to see what happens with Jack and how he fits into this new world, or if he gravitates back to his old world and what really happens with it. Businesses go bust, anything's possible.
We've pretty much exclusively seen Larry interested in architecture to this point. So what would going into the alarm clock business potentially look like for him?
Money. He's young and he gets to explore a lot of things because his father's a mogul.
In the final moment, Ada warns Agnes that things might be a little different. Historically, Ada is pretty good natured. So her being in charge, what do you conceive that looking like? I feel like we're gearing up for the battle of the century between these two sisters.
Here's the thing, fighting with a sibling is so different than fighting with somebody else. You can go in and you can go deep and you can go back. It's so charged and it's so conflict ridden. At the same time, you can be at each other's throats and then the next minute, you can hug it out. What I love is that Ada didn't just get a lot of money. She was really empowered to be independent with Luke in that relationship. So the power dynamics, it'll be fun to watch what happens.
Does she hold any resentment toward Agnes for how domineering she was that we could see come out?
Listen, Agnes pushes people. Even if you were forgiving and didn't have resentment, she might stir it up again.
This cast is known for its stellar lineup of Broadway talent. Who would be your dream to join the cast next season?
Sutton Foster. That would be big fun.
For the WIP meme, if you haven't answered it yet, I'd love to hear more about The Sacrifice. Please and thank you.
@likesugarandcyanide Sure thing hon!! Thank you for asking! Here's some information and where you can read it:
The Sacrifice is a Karl Heisenberg fanfic. It takes places decades before the events of RE8, with Karl in his younger years and eventually it'll tie into the main RE8 story.
Karl has both his magnetic powers and the ability to transform into a werewolf like beast; which gives him more control over the Lycans.
Miranda has Karl working on a personal project, one that could potentially tip the scales in terms of power between the lords and Miranda herself.
Karl has a close relationship with Moreau, which becomes strained over time as he becomes involved with Sonja Ainsley.
Karl saves Sonja from a Lycan attack after the creatures got out of his holding area. He nurses her back to health without Miranda or the other lords knowing, and at first things between them are intense, but they both grow on one another. She's from another town, and Karl grows more curious about the outside world because of her.
After Sonja returns to her town, Karl begins to sneak away from the village to spend more time with her. He begins to form attachments to her family and falls for Sonja.
I plan on having two endings to this story.
I started writing this around the time I was homeless, and after I got established at my current residence, I hit a block. Looking at the full picture, its because I associated the story with a terrible and stressful time in my life which is why it's been on a long hiatus.
I'm planning to work on it again this summer since I'll be taking off a term from college, and hopefully will finish it up if I have the spoons!
