My family needs to stop reminding me to take a shower. Like... the point of not showering isn't to smell like flowers, Grandma. I LIKE smelling like a musky, needy little omega dragon boy. How will the alphas know when I'm in heat/receptive if I shower???? It'll rinse all of my pheromones away?????? Hi there! I was wondering if you have any comic examples of spider woman using her pheromones and how they effect others? I think I've seen a few comic posts on your tumblr about it but it's hard to find.

Yes, there are definitely comic examples of Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew as well as Veranke when she was impersonating Jessica Drew) affecting people with her pheromones.

Writer Mark Gruenwald was the first person to introduce the idea of Jessica Drew having these kind of pheromones, during his run of her solo series. Essentially, he was providing an explanation for something the previous writer Marv Wolfman introduced: that people were instinctively afraid of Jessica Drew. She made their skin crawl.

So, the first emotion we really see Jessica Drew causing in other people is fear (this is similar to another later introduced pheromone user Akihiro [who formerly went by Daken] whose uncontrolled pheromones seemed to create negative emotions in those around him as a child.)

This is not something Jess is doing on purpose/something she has control over. And people's fear of Jessica Drew creates problems in her life, as no one will employ her. She ends up finding out at a clinic that it is her potent pheromones (caused by her spider DNA) that are interfering with her life.

Her pheromones cause most women to be uncomfortable around her, and most men to be attracted to her and fear her at the same time. But as I mentioned in another post, people who are not straight seem to be immune to her pheromones. (At least they are not afraid of her, and gay men are not attracted to her.)

Jess ends up taking pills to suppress her pheromones, but not before she is attacked by the mutant Nekra Sinclair, who was running the clinic. To Nekra's surprise, Jess' pheromones created feelings of affection and trust in her. Nektra was angry with another pheromone user for betraying her, so she created an immunity pill for such pheromones and decided to test it out by taking it and then killing Jess. But the pill's effect wore off during the fight, leaving Nektra vulnerable - since all her power came from anger/hate.

Another person who was possibly affected by Jess' pheromones is S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jerry Hunt, Jess' first boyfriend in America. He became absolutely obsessed with her after briefly seeing her in London and tracked her to L.A. Even though he did not know her at all, he believed himself to be deeply in love with her and also said she meant more to him than anyone he knew.

This isn't really confirmed as the effects of Jess' pheromones, but it makes sense. Though again, this wouldn't be something Jess had any control over. In any case, their relationship doesn't last long, as Jess is not as keen about Jerry as he is about her, so she doesn’t follow him when S.H.I.E.L.D. sends him back to London.

Jess takes the suppressing pills, but (in Chris Claremont's run) she finds that she has to keep upping her dosage to have the same effect, while at the same time the pills are having negative affects on her other powers as well.

Jess decides to take a break from taking the pills, and this is the first time we see Jess use her pheromones more as a tool. She's going to investigate a plant, and pretends to be an interviewee to do so. But she notices the man interviewing her is really into her because of her pheromones, and she leans into it, using the man's attraction to get more information. However, she is absolutely disgusted when he ends up kissing her.

Her pheromones are basically ignored after this, until Bendis' first New Avengers run. Where Veranke, posing as Jessica Drew and with the same powers as her, uses her pheromones to get a foe to stop fighting:

Veranke/Spider-Woman then has to explain her pheromones to the team and that she's learned to control them.

Jessica Drew is first really shown to have control over her pheromones in Kelly Sue DeConnick's run of Avengers Assemble. Where Jess claims to be able to control the Hulk with her pheromones and then proves it by getting him to make her a sandwich.

Later in this same run, an angry Hulk has a huge parasite growing inside him, and Jess is sent into the confined area he is in, to see if she can control him long enough to administer an antidote. Which she is able to do, though it was really quite tense.

Since then, we haven't really seen Jess use her pheromones much. There were a couple of ineffective times in Strikeforce and Spider-Woman (2020), but yeah, nothing close to controlling the Hulk.

That was a noise she did not want to make, at least in front of Devona. The woman's touch was colder than one would think. Combined with Ruan Mei's increased body temperature since boarding the Myrmdion, she was more prone to getting caught off guard like this. To make matters worse, she never had a chance to figure out why she was like this.

"P-please be mindful of any physical contact." Even now, she was sensitive, unfocused, and hot. What was it about this place? "If I'm distracted while holding volatile chemicals, it could spell danger for the entire ship.

She really needed Yuuki to come back.

Ants do a lot of communication via pheromones, right? There's the whole leaving scent trails thing, and there's the experiments with dousing a live ant with "dead ant" pheromones and watching it be treated like a corpse. Do we have knowledge of other targetable pheromones? Are there synthetic pheromones or other aromas that read like danger to ants? Could you treat buildings with ant-detectable odors to keep them out?

(Right now we're dealing with the tail end of a minor infestation coming from somewhere behind our stove. I'm not morally opposed to using ant baits and such, which is what we've done here, but when I'm washing down the counters with a vinegar solution every time there's a straggler wandering across them, I just got wondering if there isn't a more preventative approach.)

alpha Eddie playing the guitar so loud to the point that his amp normally makes half the trailer vibrate. When omega Steve finds himself in the room, forced to put on ear protection because “the louder I play the better it sounds, but I don’t want to make you deaf Stevie.” It’s pretty much his way of playing his music the way he wants while accommodating Steve. Though Eddie is so used to how much his room vibrates that he barely reacts when it starts. Steve on the other hand has to cross his legs as the amp is sitting right next to the bed and pretty much making the bed vibrate intensely. Eddie only stops when he smells Steve, who is completely embarrassed. Though it does end up with Eddie placing his amp on the bed for better vibrations and he’ll never be more proud then when he makes Steve cum with the talent of his fingers but never touching him.

When Eddie goes off on tour for the first time he decides to buy himself a new amp. Though before leaving he has Steve sit on it and marinate it with good luck a few times.
