today's mission was supposed to be different, petra wasn't to pair up with a fellow classmate, but someone 'special', according to gojo. so while everyone else filtered off to do their own thing, petra waited patiently by the gates of the school, clad in her uniform, fiddling with her thumbs. that was until she felt someone approach her from behind, and when she turns, she sees @wistrea. ❝ kira-san! ❞ the ravenette greets with a warm smile. ❝ what are you doing here? are you visiting yuu? ❞

Where would you take me on a date?: to the movies, we'll go watch one of those funny american rom coms. i love those ! sounds awful, we'll get lunch or something.

What did you get me for Valentine’s Day?: i'll get you some flowers and chocolate. it'll be better than yujis..

❝ ahhh, you both are so adorable! ❞ petra practically exclaims once reading through the application, and she can't help but stop briefly to give both of the boys head pats, ( even if megumi tries to pull away, he gets his head pats. ) ❝ we can definitely go to the movies! or how fun would a rage room be? or laser tag!? or - or mini golf! ❞ there were so many cool things they could all do together that didn't have to be romance-coded. perhaps one of the latter seeing as megumi didn't seem too keen on seeing a rom-com. ❝ i'll get you both some chocolates! i'll make them myself! i'll try and make demon dog chocolates for you megumi, and... i don't suppose you want finger-shaped chocolates, yuji? ❞ probably not, but there was humour in the question. ❝ heh - i'll make you star-shaped chocolates instead! ❞ grinning happily, the brunette gives a confident nod. ❝ your joint application is accepted! on the condition that we don't have to wear our uniforms! ❞ because valentines was a wednesday this year, right? maybe they could hold off on missions for the day.

if the place was covered in flour and empty packages it wouldn't have been so stress-inducing, it was the multiple puddles of spillages, one petra had almost slipped on when she entered the kitchen. the smell of burning was overwhelming, as was the heavy cloud of grey smoke beginning to build in the corner where the stove was. the many used and discarded utensils makes her fingers twitch, she can only assume yuu had used them all and cross-contaminated whatever it was he was making, which wasn't good at all. the entire kitchen was a total mess, and for a good minute, as she soaks up the sight, she can't figure out just why it was in such a state.

but then yuu begins to babble, strings of words falling past panicked lips and petra's keen ears listen to his every word. when he finishes, the young sorcerer can feel her heart swell up to twice its size. he did this for her? he was trying to cook her a nice meal... but he doesn't cook.

he was too adorable.

" well... i can see that, yuu, " comes her timid response as she steps over more spillages, to approach the panicking boy. before she addresses him petra moves by him to eliminate the impending dangers. firstly, she puts on oven mitts and takes the pots and frying pan off the stove, moving them to the sink, where she runs the cold faucet. then, she goes to open a few windows, to try and get rid of the smoke before the smoke detectors begin to go ballistic.

eventually, she trudges back over to the defeated-looking boy, casting him a small smile. arms snake around his middle as she brings him in close for a cuddle, the side of her face nestling into the crook of his neck. " you're so cute... " she mutters under her breath, inhaling the smell of tomato paste from him. weird... moving her head, the ravenette leans up to press a sweet kiss to his jaw. " why don't we clean up and we can go out for something to eat? i don't think cooking is your strong suit... but! if you want to make something for me, can you knit me a new scarf? to match my mittens you made me last year? i'll help! " only, it'll be her turn to fail miserably at something.

A night in or dinner out?:  there's this place in yokohama i've been wanting to take you, petra, i think you'll really like it... also, i can't cook for shit so i don't think we have an alternative. the last time i tried to cook you something, i thought i was going to see god...

What makes you a good Valentine?:  sweetie, love of my life, stars in my sky, i'm still trying to wrap my head around that i'm your boyfriend, the hell if i know why you've stuck around me this long. but, i'll always be good to you, i'll adore you until i get eaten by a curse or something, and i have a red panda which is a pretty cool bonus, right?

Would you cook for me?:  for both of our sakes, sweetie, i will never cook for you again so we can both survive.

Would you let me cook for you?:  again, for both our sakes, anything to keep me away from the stove. we could probably teach our little curse to cook, hmm...

Where would you take me on a date?: anywhere you wanted! i was thinking we could stay at my house, i'll set up the whole place. we'll put all the blankets and pillows in the living room, watch movies and play video games the whole day. i know a candle-lit dinner is supposedly a really romantic thing to do so i'd set up that as well, along with getting a bunch of food from your favorite places throughout the day.

Who’s paying?:  me, don't worry! i've never really used my funds from my family's vault before, it's a good way to make a dent in it, finally 👍

What did you get me for Valentine’s Day?:  ... too much, i think. i was going around tokyo wondering what to buy you, until i ended up with ... a lot 😭 there's this jacket i bought you that i thought would go well with that one blouse you had, a bouquet of flowers ... two bouquets, actually. a lot of chocolate, this plushie that i made for you with a bunch of yarn, and a necklace that cost more than i thought it would. it's real shiny too! the crows tried snatching it once or twice, but i kept it safe for you! i also made you these arm - bracers, they're really light weight and thin enough to fit under your uniform, they have a little bit of cursed energy inside that can summon a shield for you. pretty cool, right?

petra will never, ever, ever doubt yuu's love for her. ever. she never has, but this just solidified it. ❝ i - i don't even know what to say! you got me all that!? i - i hope you didn't spend too much money, yuu! ❞ even if she did end up scolding him for spending too much petra will always be grateful for everything he does for her. he really is the perfect boyfriend. but, getting back to the application, ❝ well i definitely agree with you on the cooking part... maki still asks where the black marks came from on the walls of the kitchen. ❞ luckily for them, petra is a great liar. ( no she's not, maki just doesn't want to know. ) ❝ why don't we cuddle after dinner? that way we can do everything you have planned and still get to cuddle! ❞ a bright smile flashes across her face at that, and it doesn't take her too long to find herself standing before the boy, arms wrapping comfortably around him. ❝ you're the best, yuu! of course your application is accepted! we'll have the best valentine's day ever! wait until you see what i got you. ❞

brows furrow and lips form a pout before she can stop herself. miyuna was so mean! the younger girl certainly enjoyed teasing petra, for whatever reason! however, she knew miyuna didn't do it out of malice, but because it was simply her personality. and petra quite liked it, despite how she reacted when faced with the girl's spicy attitude. it was nice having such a variety of personalities among the second years, especially the girls! maki was stern and a little cold, petra was bubbly and happy, and miyuna had the cheekiness petra and maki lacked. they were quite the band of girls.

" confidential information, eh? i'll remember that, miyuna-chan. " how confidential could the details of their shared mission be! petra had to know what they were walking into. but given how mischievous miyuna was being it led petra to believe that they weren't facing a curse graded higher than their own. grade 2 sorcerers would often enough be matched with other grade 2 curses. however, in recent months, petra's found herself facing special grades what with the uprise in curses. huffing, the ravenette flutters her lashes at the other, clasping her hands together and leaning over to rest the side of her face against miyuna's shoulder. " will you tell me? pretty please? "
