Aaravos also smiles the second Ezran and Zym enter the scene (I think they were another one of his contingencies, hence his heavy manipulation of Ezran in 7x07). Even when Runaan has his bow aimed at Callum, Aaravos then starts trying to goad Callum into using dark magic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This doesn't really make that much sense if Callum had truly (completely) outsmarted him. Otherwise, there'd be a risk of Callum (or someone else) talking Ezran down from using the Nova Blade, and Callum traps him permanently anyway. Or that they'd use the Blade to help hold Aaravos still (as the killing takes a bit), and Callum would imprison his spirit in the coin. Runaan still would've been there to kill Callum either instance. However, do we know that Aaravos wants Callum to be re-corrupted (hence the apple). I think Aaravos' smile has more to do with that goal being achieved than Rayla taking up the bow.
CALLUM: I had to, to save my friends. FINNEGRIN: Oh, how noble. Just one spell, and you never thought about dark magic again?
Tumblr media
Despite not being chained down (like Runaan) Aaravos makes no attempt to leave the stream of the spell, despite us knowing — since Avizandum knocks him out of the stream seconds later (possibly why Callum's spell caves in on itself) — that you're not locked in place. He also makes no attempts to stop Ezran and Zym from reaching him with the Nova Blade and probably could've controlled Zubeia if he wanted to since she still had dark magic corruption. Aaravos had gotten 90% of his enemies in one place with his mortal body as a radioactive bomb, and one quasar diamond free + Claudia able to escape.
Whether it's seven years, or seven hundred, my time will come.
Even if Callum had coined him and then sacrificed his life through Runaan, Aaravos could've soul hopped into Claudia or any other dark mage on the continent rather than attempting Callum — since Callum knew there'd be a few seconds in between completing the spell and trapping him to do so (hence why Callum had to die). He could've just chilled in the coin and Claudia would've found the quasar diamond that Callum and Rayla have and taken it from them.
There was no real way to Win—not permanently. Callum's plan came closest to a permanent solution, but so long as it involved dark magic — and involved being imprisoned ("I do not fall for the same tricks twice") — I think Aaravos was always ultimately going to have the upper hand.

This has been pointed out in this post, it's interesting how Aaravos was pissed about Callum outsmarting him by using Runaan as his killer but the moment Runaan was out and Rayla takes the bow Aaravos starts smiling widely, he was confident Rayla wouldn't have done it

It's on purpose. Illegal Aliens before Americans.
the elites want war to destabilize the once great country, not ever good. But once great, in concept, if ever in execution.
Giving taxpayer dollars to illegals to antagonize the citizens to erupt into civilwar and use that war to justify dystopian martial law.
That seems to be the plan. Part of it. It's the perfect premise for some kind of war arc. Or even more misdirection.
People, blacks, whites, asian etc. Americans are all royally pissed. And rightfully so. Something like this is unifying us in anger.
Just like those movies where an invasion unifies earth.
And despite my own emotionally chagred arguments, its not the illegal immigrants fault. They were invited to come, they were given free shit, they didn't take taxpayer dollars it was literally taken from us TO THEM- By the Government.
A Communist Gov. could do that, so the fact that America's did it, shows this is on purpose to get a reaction. The Illegals are just a means, Biden does not care about them or else he'd house them on an island he allegedly owns or any of the mansions he and his rich friends possess.
No they stuff these people in high-schools, kicking kids out. Community centers. No camps for Homeless AMERICANS but illegals get a camp in less than 3 weeks. record time
This is on purpose
Previous phase was to create tensions & wedges between men and women. Push alternative lifestyles, tolerance, cancel culture, hypersensitivity, obedience, apathy.
The Pandemic, the prototype was practicing curfews and clearing streets like we were in the apocalypse.
That was 2015 to 2023
Now, using this illegal alien outrage to distract from what Russia and China is doing, those country's leaders want to see the west burn.
There's a movie dropping literally Called CIVIL+ WAR
Its all a set up. All of it.
We're reaching the latter phases.
TheDrudgeReport.com , keep an eye on it if you want to know what's going on beyond what the media agents of the establishment tell you.
Russia, not all of it, but its leader wants war.
Navalny Alexsei, look him up.

Pawns remember!
First time I heard Wyd directly reference a different quest outcome from a prior NG+ run (I didn't do the phantom oxcart quest until now, my fourth run).
Lore implications
This means your pawn remembers everything that happened in the prior cycle.
I'm choosing to believe that also means they keep their free will, even if gameplay mechanic wise, you have to build the affinity back up. Mayhaps you can view it as you having to show your pawn that this new iteration of you is still the same.
I know pawns recognize you in NG+ ("I knew you would not leave this world behind!"), but this direct reference to prior happenings is even better imo.
[Side note: I know pawns can also reference different quest outcomes when hired, but they'll say something like "If only my master beyond the rift would have known...", so this is defo main pawn specific dialogue.]

The careless way the 'heir' is treated, like a propriety, an object with no opinions of his own, not a person, not a future boss, they can kidnap, threaten him and abuse him and his famiy as they want and never though he would one day get revenge on them?
Put an enemy on the throne?
Reborn never though the child he abuses daily could well murder him one day, he is just a civilian brat that would die soon or be instaled as a obedient puppet, the boy would obey him and bow to his will like everyone else, then Reborn would have the Vongola heir under his control
Tsuna is never mean to be Decimo, Nono and Iemitsu just wanted to instal a puppet king in the throne agaisnt Xanxus, he wanted someone he could control, a weak friendless civilian child he can manipulate
