The 2025 Sanremo Festival: the recap

Ok so now that its over and we are officially into TUTTA LITALIA, withdrawals lets look back into the first non Amadeus festival.

First off, a small coment on CC (Carlo Conti). It seems the festival has taken a step back into what it was before it went off to become what we have goten used to for the last five years, mainly because of the presenter Conti. From "time being but a concept" to "we must move as fast as possible or we will be eradicated by Conti himself in front of the whole Ariston theater", to the BUT above all the distinguished women that present with me are MOTHERS, to asking Malgioglio what he notices first in a woman, it seems we were in the trenches of the old festival where trash had really no place among songs and women will be there to look pretty. The thought that even 2026 will be like this is tiring honestly. Today Conti admited in an interview that he leads the festival the same way Baudi did and all I have to say is that Baudi was doing the job thirty years ago quite well, but we are no longer the same public so lets hope that Sanremo changes Conti more then Conti can change the festival.

Ok now back to recap mode.

First Night

The reunion of the boomer trio reunion and the begining of the TUTTA LITALIA, TUTTA L`ITALIA nightmare

From the moment that the audio just went out in the first two minutes, we should have known how this night was about to go.

Co-Conductor: Antonella Clerici and Gerry Scotti(at least Zio Gerry managed to bring some CONTROLLED chaous in the midst of the tornado Conti had summoned to make this night go on faster that an f1 race lap)

Memorable moments (non song related): Jovannoti coming forth dressed in THE TUTTA GOLD, almost falling while entering the theater, giving Prince ALi vibes for at least three continious minutes and beginning to give off the vibes that would disturb Conti`s puntuality that he felt though his incredible contection with the force. He would continue to hold the Ariston stage hostage for 20 MINUTES(they probably had to call Gianmarco Tamberi to remind Jova that it was time to head home before Conti summoned the demons to drag him away.

Also we had a small and insignificant PEACE WINS!! moment where the Pope may or may not have had something prepared to read while being shown in a gigantic screen to remind every one that Israel and Palestine should just hug it out, followed by a duet of a palestinian and isralei singer singing.....Imagine by John Lennon.

Memorable moments(song related): The first night is where usually singers introduce their songs and their looks. It is hard and it aslo was hard to distinguish a winner in this moment but however the most memorable ones were :

Coma Cose: Cuoricini, Cuoricini, volevi solo cuoricini(mom and dad were truly feeding us)

Achille Lauro: Incoscienti Giovanni (no one was excpecting him to be THAT dressed)

Elodie:Dimenticarsi alle sette(the song was a nice bop but what attracted the most attention was her aluminium made dress)

Brunori Sas: L`albero delle noci(NEW dilf alert, song and looks alike)

Lucio Corsi: Maybe the only truly nice discovery song and apperance alike(everyones bby boy for this editiondetected it seems)

Fedez: Battito(evryone was excpecting some gosip, turns out the song was actually nice).

Second and third night:

These two nights are usually when each half of the 28 artists performing their songs again and the only real change are the co conductors, the guests and the outfits the performers wear, which are different from the first night.

Second night co conductors:

Bianca Blatti(the godess, the model, the ACCOMPLISHED WOMAN)

Malgioglio(auntie managed to carry the red carpet on his back at the last minute considering he lost his stage clothes a week before)

Nino Frassica(everyones favourite tv cop decide to come fourth with his own bouqet and to invert his colours as to match Malgioglios hairstyle, and later on proceeded to steal time from evil Conti plans to introduce the book he wrote on Malgioglios life(strange ship about to leave the dock? or was he trying to establish himself as the superior co conductor Queen? to this day we don`t know)

That nights guest: Damiano David(poor boy was forced to endure so much italian he seemed exhausted by the end of the night, even his gf had to have everything translated in the audience)

Some fashion moments:

Third night co conductors:

Miriam Leone, Elettra Lamborghini, Katia Follesa. These three ladies would unite their energies for a common goal: to make CC feel as small and as humiliated as possible even in front of his stereotypical questions and attempts to make himself look like a sex symbol in the eyes of God-knows-who. They all succeded on different levels, Katia a bit more than the rest, but still all their efforts were recognised but the Tumblr public.

The nights guest: Duran Duran and Vic de Angelis: It would seem that they only had the budget of one Maneskin ember per night but nevertheless no one excpected Vic and she was a nice surprise. Also another nice surprise it would seem the singer of Duran Duran has now officially been married to Katia Follesa and to the joy of everyone CC couldn`t do anything to stop it.

Some fashion moments:

Fourth night: THE BEST

It seems that even the presenze of CC couldn`t stop the cover night of the festival from being the one that delivers the SERVE and ARTISTRY of the true Sanremo spirit.

Starting of with two co-conductors who not only seemed like they wanted to obliterate CC where he was standing but who also wanted to be at the festival without the need for anyone to put a gun to their heads.

Mahmood(yeah Beyonce`s closes european equivalent)

Geppi Cucciari, italian actress and comic who came out guns blasing to excorcise the spirits of boredom that had hauted Ariston for three nights up to that point.

Cover Highlights:

Moda and Francesco Renga performed Angelo(Francesco Renga) and delivered "Incredibly but Unsurprisingly) a lemon not shown in tv .

Clara and Il Volo with The sound of Silence(Simon and Garfunkel) which I excpected to be a massacre for Clara but she held her own with the boys. Still ended up quite low for my taste in the final ranking.

Lucio Corsi and Topo Gigio with Nel blu dipinto di Blu(Domenico Modugno) VAI TOPO GIGIO, THE MORAL WINNER OF THE NIGHT. Made everyone cry while singing with an almost 70year old marionette character and paying omage to said characters original voice actor. We could have ended the night here but still more people had to sing.

Irama and Arisa with Say Something (GBW): This boy is never beating the I WANT TO BE DOMINATED SO BAD allegations with the way he performed this one in front of mommy Arisa. Overall a great interpretation of a TOUGH song in my opinion.

Giorgia and Annalisa with Skyfall(Adele) Giorgia + Annalisa+ Adele song combo? = WIG OFF. I am only mad they took from Lucio and Gigio tbh.

Elodie and Achille Lauro with A mano a mano(Riccardo Cocciante)and Folle citta(Loredana Bertè): It took Elodie to make Achille serve some cuntiness in this festival and to finally rebel a bit to CCs SET IN STONE timetable. At least we got some shoulder and bi panic.

Fedez and Marco Masini with Bella Stronza(Marco Masini): No one asked for this but here we are. Having to sit through a public divorce.

Bresh and Cristiano De Andre with Creuza de Ma(Fabrizio de Andre):Bresh wanted to pay tribute to Fabrizio so much he did it three times. And it was amazing for all of them.

The Winners: Giorgia and Annalisa.

Finale:

I didnt really get to follow it. But as excpected from CC there wasnt really filled with iconic moments but more of some sad-saying-goodbye to this Holy Week of Sanremo moments.

Here are some highlights:

Gabry Ponte performs TUTTA L`ITALIA and finally puts a face behind the nightmare that is this song. That way we know who to blame for the withdrawals being like THIS.

A fake Angela from Ricchi e poveri appears behind Conti to haunt him for what he stole from us.

Then the real Alberto Angela appears to get everyone maybe a Little bit TOO concentrated.

A comicby the name of Fru who has been asking for days to get on the stage finally got his chance with The Kolors and IT WAS EVERYTHING.

Tony Effe decided to head home to Rome approximately 0.3 seconds after stepping off the stage.

Mahmood performed AGAIN as a way to calm the audience after the massacre that was the final vote up to the fifth post.

And last but not least: Olly wins first first place, with Lucio Second and Brunori Sars third.

That`s it for this year, or at least until Eurovision(not for me though, still boycoting it:))
