They continue on like that, splashing the other with water, occasionally he'll send another wave their way, and then they'll retaliate by dunking him under the surface, and he'll have to wrestle for his freedom.

It's fun! He's laughing even when his head is under water, and the twins aren't any better.

And when they finally decide to get out, their mom surprises them with lunch! It's amazing!

And if they spend the rest of the day by the lakeside, then who cares?

Like maybe he thinks he's alone and starts singing, meanwhile the family were just about to enter the room but stop and sneakily crack the door open? Or maybe one of his siblings are sick and when everyone is out he starts singing? You don't have to write this right away, I saw that your wrists was hurting in the recent tag, take care of yourself and I hope you feel better soon!

Eclipse looks down at the miserable pile of blankets that's currently hiding Solar Flare

It's really a sad sight like this, constantly shivering and sneezing. When he last checked its temperature was pretty high too. Clearly caught whatever bug Killcode had last week.

Only difference, Solar Flare has trouble falling asleep.

"Come on Flare, you are tired aren't you?"

It just looks at him in that sad way it has, and he sighs.

"What's about to happen won't leave this room, got it?"

Now it turns to looks at him almost curiously, and he's already regretting every life decision that led him here

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine"

God he's rusty. He sounds like he's trying to grind down metal. But his sibling is looking at him with big, wide eyes, so he powers through the embarrassement

"You make me happy when skies are gray"

It seems to have relaxed some. Perhaps the sickness made it very tired already, but the pain made it unable to sleep.

"You'll never know, dear, how much I love you"

He can see it slowly fall asleep, until by the end of his sentence it's laying its head on one of the pillows. He can see it's breathing slow

"Please don't take my sunshine away"

Eclipse slowly lifts a blanket over it, then rubs at its topmost spike-ray. It nuzzles into his probably cold hand sleepily.

Despite himself, he can't help but smile

If Mirror Moon turned into a baby, KC would lightly bully him, and Sun'd absolutely smother him in affection which baby would love.

However baby would sometimes want Solar, which is an unstoppable thing, he'll cry if not given to nephew. And nephew has to cuddle him.

He'd stare at his nephews with big ol' red eyes, and they'd stare back. It's a bonding excercise

Does the SCP family have birthdays? Do they celebrate them? I'm curious about that, or if it's a human tradition that doesn't really matter to them. If they do, when is everyone's birthday?

They've always celebrated their birthdays, however the newer traditions of it like eating some form of desert, most commonly cake, candle blowing and whatnot are new to them, but they'd happily incorporate some

Like you can't stop KC from making cake for his kids. It's impossible

Even if they do have troubles at first with converting their old calendar to the new one

In the mirror Au Solar learns the scps native language, or At least can understand it, did eclipse ever learn it in the main Au?

Yes, he did. That's why he later understood them. It's only ever explicitly shown with Cain in the first SEA book because I had no idea how to show it's a different language, because I didn't want to just write in a random existing language and I didn't want to make an entire language, but I needed Cain to say the family's and Killcode's name in their native tongue, because it'd make sense for him to only know them in those. But Eclipse does explicitly translate to the reader what they're saying. Solar and him just can't reproduce the same noises and sounds, so they can't speak it

Maybe a small drabble about how Ruin comforts Eclipse when he can't bring himself to light the rig up? Cause you did say Ruin would do that in the other ask and the image hasn't left my head, what can I say, there's not enough writing for this ship XD

Perhaps it's dumb to shout at something that's close to being a god, but he can't help it. He's just so damn tired and angry.

Today has been a nightmare. He'd give anything to go back to blissful ignorance.

A hand slowly intertwines with his own.

All of his posturing was dropped. There's only that cloying concern from before. It makes him want to cry.

"No"

Ruin draws him into a hug, pulling him down until he can hide in his neck. Eclipse doesn't bother fighting.

"I know, that was a stupid question. I should have thought more of this through. But it's okay love. You will be fine"

But not anyone else. Only him.

It's a heavy weight to bear

"Now if only you could silence the silly little worries in your head! They're bad for you."

A hand begins gently cradling through his rays, and he relaxes with a sigh. There's no point in trying to fight this. There's no point in trying to fight the warmth he feels.

How could he have caught the eye of such an extraordinary and ethereal creature?

Ruin begins pulling away, but he doesn't want to let go. He doesn't feel ready to.

"It's alright love. I'm not going anywhere. I just want to get us away from here. To maybe your room?"

"My room?"

"Of course! You didn't think I didn't preserve it, did you?"

Somehow that makes him feel bashful. The little chuckle from his lover makes him feel warm.

"Come now dear! Let us cuddle. And maybe later we can try... something else too~"

The wink is exaggerated, but the heat is still in those mismatched optics. It makes him shiver.

Perhaps this wasn't such a bad thing...
