Being a Lieutenant wasn't easy at all. With the upcoming war with the quincys, everything is going to chaos.

And being the only ne to receive VIP treatment was even more concerning for you.

Why? Your captain, Ōtogawa Furuoki, clearly treated you differently from everyone else and, well, they all noticed.

So some glaring or whispers happened here and there at first.

With time they seemed to have gotte used to it.

But what treatment you ask? Furuoki liked spoiling you in little ways.

He allowed you not to fight, if you didn't wish so.

The man was known for traing the newbies with a little tough love - he often left them alone in the battle until things got really bad.

This wasn't the case with you. If the battle seemed like was turning agaisnt you, he would be there in a flash.

You were also one of the few people he allowed in the main quarters - To delivery papers, or reports, or to just chat.

Thanks to these few perks, you grew closer to the captain.

You see most people think Furuoki doesn't really feel or care about anything, that he is just a cold blooded murder. But that's not true.

You could see in first hand how exausted he gets by the end of the day.

How his pale skin gets even more pale after returning from the battlefield.

Deep sighs here and there.

So you started to bring him tea and food sometimes.

At first he was surprised by your caring side, but soon enough he felt comfortable sharing things with you.

He started to share more and more about his day, but this wasn't one sided at all!

Furuoki would ask about yours too.

Soon this became some kind of routine.

Little by little you got closer and the strict lieutenant- captain relationship started to blur.

Everyone noticed, like i said earlier. You spent more time together. He actually showed he cared about you.

Eventually Furuoki felt comfortable enough to lean on your shoulder after long days of blood baths.

He would lean his forehead into your shoulder or your back.

You would just pat his head or rub his back.

He wasn't the only one seeking comfort. You were too.

You would just plop next to him and lean on his shoulder.

As the battles became more and more dire, you started noticing how exausted your captain looked.

Once you offered your lap for him to rest, it became a habit and an almost therapeutical thing.

Furuoki would lay down on your lap while chatting about the day and you played with his hair.

This habit of yours didn't fade away even after the war.

Furuoki just loved to feel you combing through his hair. It made all issues seems so small.

All in all, the captain would get slowly comfortable in your touch. And you too.

He craved this routine, this simple and domestic way of just being.

Having a moment just for the two of you, a moment only you could share.

**I’m assuming ‘deputy’ meant ‘vice captain’**

Definitely the ‘spirit’ of the 10th and probably the first vice-captain to have a positive effect on their division.

The other original vice-captains were all hardened warriors. Chosen for their combat skills and ability to kill hollows.

Though powerful, VC/10 really took the role into more of the moral, administrative, daily management position it is today.

They also picked the flower for the insignia of the 10th. Finding the daffodil’s meaning or rebirth & new beginnings something they should all try for with this new goal of a Gotei 13 they were trying.

Because of their positive attitude, the 10th was the first to recruit new members into a full division.

Furuoki didn’t like it, as he was never a fan of people and barely considered the other original 13 comrades. He had to weed out the applicants in ‘trial-by-fire’ for his own sanity.

Still, he never stopped them from actively recruiting and continuing with their charitable work around the Soul Society.

They are friends with Batsu'unsai Katori, though she thinks they’re naïve.

Furuoki tries to keep Chika Shihōin away from him as he finds their naivety appealing, for nefarious reasons, and Furoki thinks he’s a snake.

Akira is playful, a troublemaker, and a stubborn girl who prefers to not fight with people and only do it if needed to or the person is deemed as a danger. she prefers hand-to-hand combat and no one really know how her zanpakuto looks because no one have seen her pulling it out before. she's friends with Akon from 12th division , some have theorized them to be lovers but that soon to become only a fake myth as the both of them confirmed to not have any type of romantic relation with each other. she's sometimes can be found in 12th division when Mayuri Kurotsuchi isn't within the squad. her purple hairclip was bought to represent her love and admiration for Yoruichi Shihoin. her finger less gloves is made out of leather. her and Soi-Fon doesn't seems to get along that well, maybe due to Akira having love and admiration for Yoruichi.

Danjiro is somewhat friendly, adding a bit of levity to situations that are otherwise serious. a quiet man who doesn't speak too much, even with his fellow comrades he doesn't seems to be speaking to them unless it was needed to. but ones that have spoken with him have said that he seems to have some trouble spelling some Japanese words which makes his communication more difficult, it could also leads to why he avoids talking so much. but at times he's caught rambling to himself- seemingly that he was speaking in another language entirely but no one knows what he's talking about nor what language he was saying.

in battles though, he is like a fish flowing along the water. fast and quiet like he was one with the water and his slices and cuts are swift and quick that his enemies never saw the attack coming, and they would be confused by the life ending before their very own eyes.

This is actually (so far) the only other time he uses Senkei that I love to see aesthetic wise and story wise.

I guess it's because it's so close to his fight with Ichigo — which pertained to Rukia — and it's has the connection to the Kuchiki Clan still.

It's really spectacular art wise!
