In my interpretation of him, Chika’s the 10th heir of the Shihoin clan. The reason why I say he’s not the first is because of how general lifespans are in Bleach. Tbh, I don’t know how the FUCK they work but I know they’re long as hell- so I don’t think he’d be the first- especially when the Blood War happened like

He’s infamous for the huge amount of bodies he’s racked up in his time, which is why Yamamoto recruited him

And honestly, Chika wrnt right along with it!!! Not to defend Soul Society, hell no, hes just wants to have fun!!!! He wants to be entertained!!!

And the job was really entertaining for him. Not only did he get to see the fear, the anger, the determination crossing peoples’ faces in their last moments- it’s so fun to see their expressions, their body language, and what exactly they do in their final moments.

Not only that, but his team mates. His captain.

They’re nothing like the people he’s met before.

Just like him, they all want a cure for their thirst of blood- they don’t shy away from it, they’re nothing like his family, who just look the other way when he’s doing what he wants, already given up on trying to fix him.

So, he’s having fun with his teammates!! Even if they’re not having fun with him (except for Danjiro. He’s nice!), Chika still wants to spend time with them!

Nobody likes Chika though. What a loser.

Mainly it’s because nobody can tell what he really means.

He says something like ‘let’s be friends!’ Or ‘don’t be so formal with me!’, but the way he says it… it’s like there’s something behind it.

Something… unsettling. Something dark, something telling you that you can’t trust what he’s saying.

It’s like whenever he talks to you, he’s not trying to befriend you, but gain information out of you. Scrutinize you, like a jaguar scrutinizing if a small animal is good to go after or not.

He’s uncanny as hell.

The more vigilant members of Soul Society typically tend to avoid him, keeping conversations short and quick, wrapping it up as fast as possible.

The less vigilant ones often fall into his words, looking at him as genuienly friendly and making the conversations long, happy that their captain/superior is friendly.

He doesn’t… do anything to those he has long conversation with, to those who divulge more information than he should.

He doesn’t harm them, nor blackmail them.

He’s just… weird.

After the blood war, he was appointed the first head of the Onmitsukidō by Yamamoto, and he also rarely fights with his Zanpakuto!!! Sometimes, Chika forgets it even exists, leading him to have a poor bond with it, and take very bad care with it.

(Somewhere, a certain Zanpakuto maker is in pain because of this)

For whatever he finds interesting, he makes sure to note and store, remembering it for hundreds of years!!

He’s just good at acting.

He also created Shunkō!!! He didn’t perfect it in his time, so the usage of it was very unstable, super destructive, and also harmed Chika too. So, he didn’t use it as much. Sometimes he does it for shits and giggles.

He also strengthened the use of Shunpo.

Chika uses his legs a lot when fighting too

Definitely the ‘spirit’ of the 10th and probably the first vice-captain to have a positive effect on their division.

The other original vice-captains were all hardened warriors. Chosen for their combat skills and ability to kill hollows.

Though powerful, VC/10 really took the role into more of the moral, administrative, daily management position it is today.

They also picked the flower for the insignia of the 10th. Finding the daffodil’s meaning or rebirth & new beginnings something they should all try for with this new goal of a Gotei 13 they were trying.

Because of their positive attitude, the 10th was the first to recruit new members into a full division.

Furuoki didn’t like it, as he was never a fan of people and barely considered the other original 13 comrades. He had to weed out the applicants in ‘trial-by-fire’ for his own sanity.

Still, he never stopped them from actively recruiting and continuing with their charitable work around the Soul Society.

They are friends with Batsu'unsai Katori, though she thinks they’re naïve.

Furuoki tries to keep Chika Shihōin away from him as he finds their naivety appealing, for nefarious reasons, and Furoki thinks he’s a snake.

Chika would be your childhood friend. You are the daughter of the Head of the Shiba family. You two are very close and Chika delcares that he would marry you one day and you made him promise you.

You both got married but you are not the fighting type so you stay at the Shihouin compound or you'll be at the Shiba compound, as you are temporary head until your little brother is ready and fit for the position.

You know about your husband's title as a fearsome, deadly and dangerous taichou but you never see that when he's at home.

Chika will follow you like a lost puppy, always making sure you're alright. He loves kissing you out of nowhere which always makes you blush.

This tall ass motherfucker loves picking you up. Picking you up and hugging you. Although sometimes, he tends to put his hands in places he shouldn't be.

Since this man is noble (although you are as well), he will be fucking loaded, want something? Chances are, he'll be buying it for you in no time. Chika loves treating you like royalty.

In the mornings, he'll be getting ready quietly and leaves a kiss on your forehead before making sure that the duvet is covering you before heading off to the second division.

Although, if you're awake by the time he's awake and hasn't left yet, you won't let him go from your grasp. No matter how much he whined and begged. Is it so hard to want cuddles in bed from your husband? Yes apparently.

He always does the same trick to get you off him, he'll kiss you on the cheek, then on the lips before moving down to your neck. His hands will be resting on your hips. When your guard is completely lowered, is when he'll tickled you. You always pull away from him so quickly, it's like he's a flame you shouldn't be touching.

Obviously being a vicious taichou, Chika will come back home, soaked in crimson, sometimes of his own, a lot from his enemies. Most of the time, you'll be reading a book or doing paperwork while drinking tea. The moment you look up at Chika, you notice how tired he is.

You always set your tea down after seeing him before standing up and walking over to him. You help him take off his cloak and scarf off, paying close attention to your husband, so that he would not collapse from exhaustion.

Once he reassures you that he's alright, he'll head to your room to go change and wash himself.

That's when you take your husband's cloak and scarf and put them in a tub of water, so that the water can do it's best to wash out the blood. While the items are soaking up the water, you prepare a tea for your husband.

It doesn't take long for Chika to come back, you hand him his tea and in return, he kisses your temple. You take his hand and lead him over to the backgarden porch.

You would sit down while Chika would lay down, with his head on your lap and his tea on the stone ground. You would run your hands through his white hair as he informs you about his mission.

This is all that I've got so far. Man coming up with Head canons are so hard. First time doing this.

When you told Chika you were going to be parents he was surprised and shocked at first.

Not shocked like " how" but shocked as in " holy crab I am a dad now?"

He stayed confused for a good awhile. Until you giggle at his slow blinks.

That was enough to pull him out of his daze and have his cheeks burn slightly.

He smiled, lifted you and thwirled you around!!

At first he was worried about you but nothing too overwhelming, just making sure you ate, had water, that you didn't made too effort and things like that.

As time went by and your bump started to show, he became glued to your belly.

Always a hand on it, laying down on your lap, talking to them, you name it!

It was very endearing to watch the oh, so fearsome captain drooling over you like that.

But Chika also started to become more protective.

A few weeks passed by and now you were visibly pregnant.

You needed new clothes and he took you out to shop.

Always close to you, hand on your waist and sometimes on your stomach.

Whenever someone stopped to chat with you he would watch them. It was uncomfortable for the people to say the least, but he didn't dare to take his eyes away from you.

Needless to say he became overprotective, right?

At night he kissed you and your stomach good night. You giggled at how sweet it was and in turn it made him smile against your skin.

It was also during this time he started to panic a bit.

Would he be a good dad? Nope, he didn't think so.

He tried to hold this insecurity from you, but... you soon noticed he seemed a bit off.

He shyly admitted being worried about parenting - who would want their parents to be a fearsome captain?

He truly believed you would excel in being a mom - even though you were a nervous train wreck yourself.

You tried your best to reassure him - he is a very affectionate person, he is good a teaching and he would keep the baby safe.

It helped him a bit, but... he was still scared.

So you decided to go for what he usually does " well, then, you say so yourself, if you are scared go head first and it won't look as scary. I will be here too to help you so..."

He laughed at your words. Its true he told you that many times.

You could see the relief on his features. You gave him the push he needed!

When the baby started kicking he was ecstatic.

Excitedly pointing it out for you that the baby moved - absolutely adorable to see his eyes shining and smile appearing wide and bright.

At this point, you couldn't walk around alone anymore. You joked with him you were pregnant, not dying.

He laughed and flicked your forehead " you two are more precious than anything in this world and you are mine and mine alone"

Your cheeks burned.

He didn't really mind having a boy or a girl. He did have names on his head.

Before going to bed, you two would discuss the names.

He took it quite seriously.

When the due date came around, he wasn't in the house.

He was gving some training to his squad.

As soon as he the 4th squad got to him the news, he was gone in a blink.

He stayed with you through the birth, holding your hand, sometimes whispering reassuring words and drying your forehead.

When the baby was finally born he didn't know if he should hold them or you - as you gave the last push you relaxed and fell back on the bed.

In the end, Chika was only allowed to hold your baby after you held them.

He had a very soft expression watching you too. He was took this opportunity to thank you for your hard work.

At first he was overprotective of the baby and you, but with time he relaxed a bit. Just a little.

He slowly got the hang of being a dad and tried to take the role of the stern father,but... you took the cake instead.

Yhwach's Origin

Yhwach created the Quincies but his own birth is still a mystery.

Yhwach claims to be the son of the Soul King. But he was seemingly born around 1200 years ago in the human world and Soul King was sealed in his crystal the Soul Society.

Also we can't take what he says literally. He considers himself Ichigo's true father calls Isshin a stand-in.

I have a theory that Yhwach is the reincarnation of a member of the the Shihoin Clan.

The three worlds used to be one and in Can't Fear Your Own World it was revealed that splitting life and death was the idea of the ancestors of the five noble clans.

It was the Shihoin Clan ancestor that came up with the reincarnation cycle. "The Shihoin clan’s ancestor believed that an even greater cycle of circulation was needed to progress the stagnant world forward." I think it would be significant and ironic for a Shihoin to put end to that cycle.

I think it will be a twist similar to Hollows being revealed to be fallen human souls.

Yhwach was born without his senses which I think is influenced by the Three Wise Monkeys and the Sanshin. I think this is a clue on how Yhwach got his Quincy powers.

The Sanshin are evil spirits believed to live in people and try to hasten the death of their host. They record the sins of the host to report to the gods so they would be punished. I think this is the inspiration for Yhwach power sharing ability.

The Sanshin are believed to reside in three dantian "energy centers", respectively located within the head, chest, and abdomen. This correlates to the saketsu and hakusui which are located in the chest and abdomen.

I think the third eye of Aizen and the Llyod twins hint at a pressure point existing in the head.

Uryu regained his Quincy powers by being struck with a Heilig Pfeil in the chest.

In the spot where the saketsu or Chain of Fate would be. I think this is a hint on how Yhwach gain his Quincy powers.

The Soul King split the primordial world into the triplet worlds.

He used a sword.

And three arrows to do it. EDIT: I think he pierced his saketsu, hakusui and "third eye" to transform into a Quincy.

The Shihoin Clan are the guardian of heavenly weapons and tools bestowed unto them by the gods/heaven which I take means the Soul King. I think they had the sword and three arrows.

Tools have souls in the name and Fullbringers can boost their power with their own souls. The Soul King in Can't Fear Your Own World was said to have countless abilities like the Fullbringers. I think the Soul King boosted the arrows with his soul.

I think the arrow had spirits in them similar to Shun Shun Rikka.

Orihime's hair clips were compared to Zanpakuto.

I think these spirits were incarnation of the Soul King and will be inspired by the Sanshin.

As opposed to Shinigami Quincy extinguish the souls of Hollows.

It was explained as being out of revenge for the Hollows killing their loved ones.

Mayuri pushed back on the that idea and hypothesized it was because Hollows are deadly to Quincy.

Urahara cosigned this and explained that Quincy had no antibody against Hollows. This makes me think that it being out of resentment is true.

Urahara is not a reliable narrator. He is a fierce defender of the status quo so won't reveal the true reason Quincy seek to kill hollow.

The Shihoin lead the Onmitsukidō who act as scouts against the Hollows. Sui Feng lost all 5 of her brothers so I see that how the would breed resentment against Hollows. Also they assassinate lawbreakers so maybe the Yhwach's past life believed the Shinigami deserved punishment for mutilating the Soul King.

I think it could be why Chika Shihoin joined the Gotei 13, out of a sense of familial obligation to stop the Quincy since they were born from his family.

Old Man Zangetsu looks like Yhwach from a thousand years and interestingly enough Yoruichi met him. It's unclear if Yoruichi knows Ichigo is a Quincy but I think she could bring it up in the anime. I have feeling Urahara knows the truth and that Yoruichi will get it out of him.
