I look super awkward BUT here is me in my Izetta cosplay with Mallorie Rodak, Fine's English voice actress! She was so excited to see my cosplay! And even took a pic to send to Skyler McIntosh, who voices Izetta 🥰🥰🥰 I had her sign a Fine print as well as my bluray. Meeting her was so wonderful and she was so so so sweet!!!

Izetta was ready to lay down her life for the Archduchess by going down with the White Witch.
She would smile dying for the Archduchess since she is doing it because the Archduchess saved her life when they were small.
The Archduchess was worried and concerned about Izetta using the magic stone that would slowly eat away Izetta's life.

Izetta Reactions
Hello, everyone! This is a reaction blog, as I’ve seen in many fandoms, for Shuumatsu no Izetta/Izetta the Last Witch.
So, how does this work?
Send in asks with situations or scenarios, and I will answer them for:
- whoever you specify OR - the main four girls (Izetta, Finé, Bianca, Lotte)
So, for example, you could ask, “Finé reacting to Izetta proposing to her,” and I’d write a short drabble about that. Or you could say, “reactions to Finé proposing to Izetta,” and I would write for all four of them. The more characters there are, I think, the shorter each reaction would be.
I’ll also take general Izetta-related writing prompts, but I’m busy with school at the moment, so I’ll be slower to fill those.
Rules: -All prompts must be SFW -I will do gore/battle types of things, but not too graphic (if you’re unsure, just ask) -AUs are fine! -Have fun!!!
Please spread this around if possible so it can reach all the corners of our cozy little fandom! Thank you! ^_^

Opera in Episode 1 of Izetta the Last Witch
Remember that opera scene? Where negotiations between Princess Fine and Lord Redford transition into Eylstadt’s destruction at the hands of Germania, complete with an out-of-place aria in the background?
This is from Mozart’s opera, Die Zauberflute, or The Magic Flute. The character in question is the Queen of the Night, and in Izetta, her incarnation here is clearly based off of the Royal Opera staging, in which she is portrayed by Diana Damrau.
Yes, they even replicated the set. Get ready for a long analysis comparing Izetta and this opera, because that’s my life now I guess.
And, it’s worth mentioning that the titular magic flute has the ability to “turn sorrow into joy.” That’s basically what Fine has done for Izetta--how her perception of her powers has changed. Also, while brass in Izetta’s soundtrack tends to represent the Germanians, flutes/voice/bells are used for Izetta and magic. This coincides with the Magic Flute, as well as magic bells that another character in the opera receives, and of course, voice is key in an opera.
Now, the first song the Queen of the Night sings is an aria by the name of “O zittre nicht, mein lieber Sohn.” This translates to “Oh tremble not, my dear son.”
In the opera, the context is as follows. The Queen of the Night has a daughter, who has, as she tells it, been taken captive by a villain. She bids the young man (the person to whom she is singing) to go and rescue her. If he succeeds in this, the Queen promises that her daughter will be his forever. This about sums up the lyrics of the song, but you can read it here.
Now, that sounds pretty interesting to me, considering Izetta is Sophie’s descendant. In the opera, the man hearing this song has only seen a glimpse of the Queen’s daughter, but he instantly fell in love. The young, pious, honorable man being sung to would, in this case then, be Fine.
But! Onto the next song, that is sung in the background of Eylstadt’s destruction.
This is one of the most famous arias of the whole opera, “Der Hölle Rache kocht in meinem Herzen” (Hell’s Vengeance Boils In My Heart). In fact, it’s one of the most famous arias... period. It’s difficult to sing, and very emotionally charged (literally called a “rage aria”). During it, the Queen gives a knife to her daughter, trying to coerce the girl into killing an innocent person who she (the Queen) sees as her rival. What’s interesting is that they cut off the beginning of it in Izetta, and the lyrics start here (to the end of the song):
Disowned be thee forever, Abandoned be thee forever, Shattered be forever All the bonds of nature If it is not through thee that Sarastro turns pale! Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye, gods of vengeance, hear the mother's oath!
Basically--”if you don’t kill this man, you’ll be disowned, abandoned, all bonds between us gone.”
Now, it could just be nothing. But it’s interesting, I think, in how the Queen of the Night in these arias bears similarity to Sophie.
First, she feigns kindness, pretending to want to make peace with Izetta. Part of this is because they are indeed related. But in the end, it is revealed that she has only the worst of intentions, and her rage and desire for vengeance for a perceived slight is what drives her. In the opera, the Queen of the Night wants to kill that man (Sarastro) because her dead husband gave the temple to him, instead of her, rendering her powerless. So another parallel between the two is being betrayed by their husband in death.
She wants Izetta to suffer for helping Eylstadt, for siding with the people who wronged her. But in the end, Izetta and Fine triumph, enduring the trials before them and emerging victorious, and in love, on the other side. This mirrors the plot of Die Zauberflute. The future lover of the daughter, who the Queen is singing to in the beginning, must go through trails of wisdom to be worthy of the daughter’s love. The Queen is cast out into the night, and in the end, they rejoice at the power of light/the day being victorious. Izetta and her powers are pretty consistently tied to night/the moon, so I guess it fits that she is a descendant of the Queen of the Night.
In any case, I hope you enjoyed this analysis. I was rewatching episode 1 (the funimation dub is out on Crunchyroll now!) and decided to do some research. I noticed other things in episode 1 too but this is already FAR too long.

Izetta sacrificed her life with a smile stating that she is happy to serve and die for the Archduchess. The Archduchess cried over her death.
Three years later, the Archduchess met Izetta again who was sitting on a wheelchair as she is dragged by Lotte, the Archduchess' maid.
