okay i’m gonna ramble abt my pokemon and their names below the cut, now. pokemon scarlet is really fun so far!
okay so my starter was fuecoco, who is now a skeledirge, of course. his name is chamaco bc he is best boy. lol
i also have a mudsdale again! you all may remember (lol no you won’t) that my Number One Best Boy in pokemon shield was a mudsdale named jack! he was so named bc i--well, i typically do joke names for my pokemon. lol whatever comes to mind first as a reference, and then i spin off of that. so “jackass” for donkey (bc mudbrays look like lil donkeys) and therefore jack bc that’s a Name. lol
SO my mudsdale THIS time is a sweet gal whomst i’ve named jackie jr. she is PERFECT and i LOVE HER and she’s SO STRONG. she maxed out the friendship stat w me SO FUCKING FAST. we are at FIVE HEARTS and SOARING! she dodges attacks, withstands critical hits, LANDS critical hits, shakes off status effects--all bc she Loves Me and i LOVE HER. even chamaco, who is ALSO grossly overleveled for where i am, hasn’t maxed out his friendship w me! incredible. mudsdales are just my best friends, i guess. lol
i also just defeated the montenevera ghost gym which was REALLY FUCKING FUN!!!! i LOVE doubles battles now. lol
my team for that (only 4 of em got used, including jackie jr) was a tinkaton named molly, a dedenne named denow, a pawniard named godiva (who did not get used bc she is, unfortunately, not v fast & ryme’s pokemon were SO FAST), a sneasel named hash, and a dachsbun named sopapilla (also wasn’t used--ended up just not being required).
molly the tinkaton is so named bc i think the tinkatinks look like baby dolls, so i named her after the american girl doll molly. lol
dedenne is named denow bc denne (the way i say it, at least) just sounds like “then” so.....”now” lol
the pawniard godiva basically went knight/soldier --> horses --> “girl” pokemon --> lady godiva
sneasel named hash was shortened from the hash slinging slasher from spongebob lol
the dachsbun--every fidough and dashsbun i have is named after a different sweet pastry. i had already used a few others by the time i caught this one, so sopapilla she became. lol
other fun pokemon names i have
crabrawler named mr. krabs. obvious
a pawmi/pawmo named knope. pawmi sounded like pawnee as in pawnee indiana as in parks and rec. it’s yellow/blond, so knope after leslie knope. lol (however unlike leslie knope, this poor thing cannot accomplish anything; kept getting oneshotted in EVERY SINGLE BATTLE even with type AND level advantages, and always went last, so i removed them from the team)
a yellow/electric oricorio named graham. i haven’t used her on my team for a bit, but she was VERY fun bc she loved obliterating other pokemon and then doing her little cheerleader cheer. adorable. she’s named graham bc that was clea duvall’s character’s name in but i’m a cheerleader. lol
there’s also a bergmite named titanic. obvious.
a falinks named stratagem.
i have a primeape named don john. this one is a bit of a story. the fucking thing wouldn’t stay in the FUCKING POKEBALL when i was trying to catch it. i just kept shouting BASTARD. FUCKER. and then when i caught it i was like i have to name this fucking bastard. so i went “who’s a famous shakespearean bastard” so don john it was bc that’s the bastard villain in much ado about nothing.
a bombirdier is named bomberjacket. obviously.
a bronzor named robro. for no real reason. robot-adjacent. bro as in pal.
a flittle named didi bc it looks like dexter’s sister from dexter’s laboratory.
a torkoal named orly in honor of the tortle orly from critical role campaign two. lol
a foongus named mogus. OBVIOUSLY.
a grafaiai named jeff, in honor of jeff corwin, who loves funky little creechurs. it was either that or steve, but i already had one of those koala pokemon named irwin.
a zorua named hot topic. again, obvious.
a wiglett named wormy. obvious and also a spongebob reference
a red/fire oricorio named cecilia. i just looked up lists of famous flamenco dancers and chose a name. she is graham’s gf. lol
i also caught two finizen. one “boy” and one “girl”, whom i named frank and lisa, respectively. hoping i don’t need to explain that one. lol
oh god i caught an espathra and named it limu. utter nonsense, but EXTREMELY funny.
i have a rolycoly named calcifer jr bc on my final team in pokemon shield i had a coalossal named calcifer.
i didn’t bother doing this for all of the meowths and other kitty pokemon, but i do at least have one meowth named rumpleteazer.
i have two girafarig--jeffrey and jessica. bc. toys r us.
a naclstack named saltlick. boring and obvious.
all of the shinx that i caught were named something with an x at the end, like beatrix.
similar to godiva, i have another pawniard named gallahad.
my silicobra is called sidewinder.
my mimikyu is called sadboi.
OH i can’t believe i forgot abt him! i have a charcadet named ZUKO! bc of course i had to.
oh i was proud of the silly names for my tadbulbs/bellibolts: philhamenta and floralescent. lolololol (filament and philhemina, floral and flourescent)
clodsire got the simple and beautiful name: clodia
a stunky named flower. bc Duh.
a cyclizar named garyl bc Also Duh.
a shroomish named alexis in honor of the black forager whomst i follow on instagram. lol
i named a murkrow hatred bc IT WOULD NOT STAY IN THE FUCKING BALL. IT TOOK LIKE 7 DIFFERENT MURKROW AND LIKE 25 BALLS JUST TO CATCH ONE. i was infuriated by the end of it.
oh i named the squawkabillies that i caught after the mother of rock n roll, so there’s rosetta and tharpe. and then also bruce just bc. lol
my sandygast was named calvin bc it reminds me of the snowmen that calvin from calvin and hobbes used to make. lol
i named a skiddo shoom bc: goat. yuzu is the Goat. yuzu is too obvious and doesn’t have anything to do w a grass type pokemon. we call baby yuzu shoom bc he had a mushroom haircut for a long time. this skiddo is the “baby” form of its eventual evolution. and therefore: shoom.
i have a fletchling named gayle and a fletchinder named chris. in honor of chris fleming, bc fletchling reminded me of the name fleming. and gayle bc GAYLE!
azumarill named tink bc i’m not creative.
oh my god i can’t believe i forgot. i have a klawf named tumblr. i don’t need to explain that one. lol
oh i have a shroodle named porfo. why? bc it looks UTTERLY FUCKING BIZARRE and vaguely resembled porfo, a character who is The Mascot of drawfee.
i have a flabebe named moira. thoughts: flower = rose. the rose family from schitt’s creek. ~flabebe~ is how moira pronounces baby in the show. hence. moira.
a bonsly named james bond. hopefully also obvious.
the first smoliv i caught was named kalamata. bc that is the Best Kind of olive. lol
i named my rookidee (who is now a corvisquire) beth, after beth from queen’s gambit. bc. y’know, rook.
i also have a floatzel named yeet. lol
OH and most importantly i have a tandemaus named dubstep. bc deadmau5.
OKAY THAT’S IT. just wanted to have some fun w the names n stuff. lol
so far my Absolute Precious Babies are:
jackie jr the mudsdale, chamaco the skeledirge, graham the electric oricorio, molly the tinkaton, tink the azumarill (who obliterated TWO team star fortresses almost entirely on her own), and denow the dedenne.
there are some other cuties, but these lil guys are the Bestest lil guys. lol

fullangelobservation is a scam. looking up their name shows an old post where the answerer says their first icon looked ai generated.
real palestinians usually have gofundmes and are advocated for by non-arab users, and do not send asks or messages to people.
if you donated to them or any similar paypals (my rule is to only rb gofundmes) please file for a refund for impersonation and report the account.

Please watch out for fake Palestine gofundmes in your inbox. I got one and I double checked if it was legit by reverse image searching a photo from the blog's pinned post and found a real gofundme under a different name with all the same text otherwise. The blog's oldest post is 7 hours and their link took you to paypal instead of the gofundme website.
Remember, if someone is asking for money in asks, check how old the blog is and try to look up the text or images used. Stay wary of links too.
#did i type all of those by hand bc im at work? yes#was it worth it? no#nvm people are already responding yes it was xoxo

All this talk about Franziska getting a redesign, and everyone seems to be forgetting she was an 18 year old prosecutor; she wanted to look good and prosecute, not caring about what anyone else thought about her. That’s exactly how an 18 year old would dress as a prosecutor, they wouldn’t be dressing like her father. An older Franziska however...
I mean, I don’t think anyone was saying that there’s anything WRONG with the way franziska dresses now, it’s just fun to imagine alternate ways she COULD dress in the present and in the future. I personally like her design a lot! It’s fitting for her and it’s stylish
....however i do stand behind the fact that capcom needs to let more aa girls wear pants because holy shit, i kind of hate the fact that most of them are only allowed one outift and it’s the miniest of miniskirts
#cross-examination#adrian ema when she was older olga orly and franziska when she was younger and like. vera are the only gals i can think of that wear pants#theyre not...reeeeally weird about the miniskirt thing i dont think#but still upsetting to me#i also hate dresses with a burning passion so maybe this is a me problem

I could line my wall with all the posts Thomas has made about Chloe tonight. (around 50, by my count)
If you wanna read them, don’t bother.
I certainly won’t be sharing any of them
What would be the point?
Because basically, they amount to one thing...
Chloe is bad, and we’re bad people for liking her.
That’s it.
And for anyone thinking that he kids around a lot with his comments...
I’m pretty sure this is something he feels VERY strongly about.
Or he wouldn’t expand so much energy in constantly talking her down.
So no, I don’t think we’re going to get a Chloe redemption.
No, I don’t think she’ll be Queen Bee again.
No, I can’t see any real change in her behavior.
She’ll just remain the same ol’ hatable Chloe, the ‘evil’ girl that young kids apparently ‘get’ that adults don’t understand...
Yep, apparently we’re ‘dumb’ for wanting her to improve and develop!
To provide a good example for bullies out there that they can be more than just abusers all their lives!
Children couldn’t possibly grasp the delicate subtleties of self-improvement as you grow up!
It’s all so clear now!
Stupid us!
Also, her merchandise doesn’t sell very well.
Another good case for her staying as a villain, I guess.
And she’s compared to a monster and a domestic abuser.
This damaged teenage girl.
Yeah, sounds about right.
And all those tender moments where she showed empathy and love were just ‘fake outs’ all along.
Makes total sense!
And anyone who wanted more from her is just ‘delusional’ and is ‘writing the show in their head’.
Exactly!
Except...
That’s not the way it seemed on screen at all.
When she hugged Miss Bustier
Or had a heart-to-heart with Ladybug
When she risked her life as Queen Bee
Showed genuine concern for Adrien
When she finally appreciated Jean-something
And shared moments of friendship with Sabrina
These did NOT come across as part of an elaborate plot twist
From a show which isn’t exactly known for its complex writing.
They seemed to form part of a ladder...
Which would inevitably climb to a true character shift.
Where this flawed teenage girl could take a long, hard look at her life.
And realize she didn’t HAVE to be like her awful mother.
Or as power-hungry as her father.
She could learn lessons from her favorite superhero Ladybug...
Become a better person...
And an even greater superhero.
She could still keep her sassy attitude.
Just be a bit kinder and selfless, that’s all.
But, nope.
EVERY bit of niceness we witnessed on screen...
None of it was real.
It was all influenced by ‘class’.
Even her childhood friendship with Adrien was nothing.
If he was as poor as the rest of his classmates, she would’ve bullied him too.
Straight from Thomas’s own mouth.
One of the best relationships in the show, gone just. Like. THAT.
He also said to ‘redeem’ her at this stage would be too ‘unconvincing’?
ORLY?
I hate to return to critical mode...
But the show ain’t exactly known for its consistent writing.
One minute Marinette is confident around Adrien...
Next she’s a nervous jumble of words.
It sets up two new ships for Mari and Adrien with great fanfare...
Only to ditch them both two eps later.
(Also, what the **** did they plan to do with Lila?!)
In other words, this isn’t a show that plays the long game
Whether this is to satisfy the networks’ demand to air the eps out of order idk.
The point is that trying to tell us that Chloe’s ‘arc’ was some grand scheme...
Where she’d have a few sympathetic moments only to emerge worst than ever afterwards....
I simply don’t believe it.
Either this is terrible, amateurish writing of the worst kind...
Or Thomas flexed his influence behind the scenes...
And put an abrupt end to Chloe’s development before it really got started.
It doesn’t really matter which reason I guess.
What DOES matter is this petty and spiteful man sees fit to bash her in around 70% of his online interactions right now.
He could just ignore the posts but nope, he goes right in there, full throttle.
You can just tell how smart he is with his intimate psychological breakdowns of why Chloe is the way she is...
When we all know the actual reason... he just couldn’t be bothered.
Far better to create a whole new character, give her none of the depths that could make a developed Chloe such a pain to write...
And then 'reward’ her with the position of Queen Bee, for being super-sweet and as shallow as a puddle.
And oops, make her Chloe’s half-sister or whatever to further rub salt in Chloe stans’ wounds.
Is the show even gonna tackle the angst that would arise from Mayor Andre discovering his beloved wife had an affair?
Or Chloe discovering her much-loved mother is in fact a cheat?
What about coping with the SHOCK revelation that she... GASP... has a long-lost sister?
Forget it. All that rich potential for human emotions sounds B O R I N G.
Don’t forget that if there’s a major event in this show that doesn’t include the words ‘Love Square’, the makers just don’t care.
Let’s cut straight to a giant golden Zoe (who now looks like a giant golden Chloe) trying to smoosh her now much smaller sister...
While Chloe pushes Marinette and her parents towards the beast to save herself.
Because of course she does.
Never misses a trick to make Chloe look bad, does Thomas.
It’s a skill you can tell he’s very proud of.
Anyway, back to Zoe...
Despite my harsh words above, I harbor no ill-will towards you.
Your design is decent and you seem like a stand-up gal.
But I hate to say this...
You shouldn’t exist.
It was completely unnecessary from a storytelling POV to create a sibling for Chloe, and your mere presence will diminish the show.
I can say this with utmost confidence after looking at the situation from every conceivable angle...
Without even needing to watch your eps or know why you were created.
(Although, I have a pretty good idea)
Some people might say WELL GIVE HER A CHANCE!!!!
Hmm... no.
Everything the show needs to be successful with Chloe’s character...
It’s already right there.
She does not need a secret sibling
She does not require a sweeter counterpart
And she definitely DOESN’T need Thomas constantly bashing her to impressionable fans online like she’s the Antichrist personified!
Seriously dude, if you hate her so much why bother creating her?
And if you hate her so much... why spend so long talking about her?
Despite his repeated denials, I think something another user here said is very true...
She DOES live ‘rent free’ in his head.
It sickens him that, despite his best efforts, she still has so many fans.
Not to worry, Thomas.
From what I see, there are still plenty of sycophants who agree with everything you say (even if they actually don’t)
After all, it’s enough for some to get a reply from the ‘great man’ himself
Why jeopardize that by trying to engage with him in a meaningful debate?
Especially when we know how handsy he is with the ‘block’ button.
Anyway, this went on for about a thousand more words than I meant it to.
I guess me and Thomas have just ONE thing in common (Thank God)
This is a topic which we both feel VERY strongly about.
The differently is of course, I have far less power in the process, and preach to a much smaller audience.
Still, I won’t let that stop me ranting away like a loon.
Hey, if it’s good enough for him... ;)

Orly’s reaction to realizing he died/this crazy group of misfits can bring people back from the dead/the ship got attacked or any of that? Or just “who exactly are these people?!” From the crew in general?
“—only I heard they got into a huge fight with the Zelezo. And that was before they was even sailors.”
“What? No—”
“Nah, he’s right. I saw it myself. Fought ‘em for a bit at the end, too.”
The rest of the crew turned towards Gallan, who was leaning against a stack of crates to the side.
“Piss off,” Shelda said instantly. “No way that’s true.”
“What? Yes, way!” Gallan protested. “I swear I did.”
“You?”
“Who else? I’ve been on this boat since the beginning, I have. How do you think I joined up? I was kidnapped!”
“What, like Marius says he was?” someone else called. “You really expect us to believe you two? This isn’t a pirate ship, Gallan.”
Gallan snorted, took a swig of his flask. “That just goes to show what you know. Sure, it’s the Ball-Eater now—”
“Awful name—”
“I nearly said no ‘cause of it—”
“My mate did—”
“—but before that,” he forged ahead, “before it was called that, this ship right here was the Squall-Eater.”
The crew fell silent.
Gallan tapped the deck with his boot. “Cool, right?”
One or two of the crew exchanged glances. And then, they all burst out laughing.
“Yeah, right—”
“Quit jokin’—”
“What’re you drinkin’, Gal—”
“Wh—I’m being seri—shove off!” He scowled. “Really. I mean it.”
“Nah, you’re takin’ a piss.” Shelda gave him a mild shove. “The Squall Eater’s a proper pirate’s ship, and everyone knows it’s got a proper pirate captain. As if a boat like that would be sailin’ merchant routes. As if a boat like that would employ Marius.”
A distant, “Hey—”
“I swear I’m tellin’ the truth!” Gallan cried. “And you all know I was a pirate, yeah? I sailed on The Mista—I mean The Mist! Remember?”
“Then what’re you doin’ on a cargo ship?” Someone asked.
“I told you, this is a pirate ship,” he groaned. “It probably will be again by the end of this journey, just you wait and see what the Captain does.”
“What, Skiffback?”
“Our real captain. Tusktooth.”
“Tusktooth?” Shelda scoffed. “That weirdo? All he does is stand behind the wheel all day and call out boat-terms like he knows what he’s doin’.”
“Attractive, though,” someone offered.
“None of them really look like sailors,” Shelda added. “I swear the furry one hasn’t sailed a day in his life. And our cannoneer doesn’t even like water.”
Gallan sighed. “If you don’t believe me, ask Marius. Or Orly! Both of them were there when we set sail. Marius was in that Zelezo fight, weren’t you?”
The crew’s heads swiveled again. This time towards Marius, who was sitting on a barrel, trying to break into a biscuit with his teeth.
He hastily set it down.
“‘It’s true,” he said. “We’re both being honest. These people are lunatics, they kidnapped me, when all I was trying to do was a, a business transaction. And they put an axe in Gallan’s head.”
Gallan nodded along, sagely. Half of the group craned their necks to examine his skull. The other half seemed to consider this for a moment.
“They…do seem sort of violent,” someone conceded after some brief thought. “Like…in the fight last night! With the fish-things.”
There was a shorter, more profound pause. Then:
“The…huh. Hey, did you know the navigator was a wizard?”
“Forget that, the first mate could punch lightning—”
“The halfling was foaming at the mouth, can they do that?”
“I swear the fuzzy one was gonna commit murder—”
“He did—”
“And what about the small one? She was only doin’ crafts yesterday, then bam, blades—”
“I didn’t even know the pale one was on board ‘til she cut its head off—”
“Exactly!” Gallan brightened up, though Marius seemed to wince at the memory. “It’s always like this when they’re on board!” he grinned. “Seriously, when they’re gone, it’s so bloody peaceful, and then the second they come back, it’s one thing after another! We had a storm fight us once! And harpies! And other pirates! And don’t even get me started on the flood—”
“They didn’t even ask if I wanted to sail,” Marius grumbled. “They just said: ‘okay, time to come aboard—’”
Shelda eyed Gallan over suspiciously, then considered Marius’s grimace.
“And you two…really are being serious?” She asked. “This is an actual pirate ship? You’re tellin’ a real story?”
From behind them, came a series of thuds. Heavy footsteps, marked by faint jingling, and rumble.
“If y-you want a st-story, sailor, I’ve g-got a story for you.”
They turned, and lit by the lamplight, was the shining, grinning, half-squint of Orly.
He chuckled, and pushed a crate aside.
“Gather ‘round,” he said. “Those two a-a-amateurs can’t be s-sayin’ it right.”
He spread his hands, gave a nod, and almost as if under his spell, the crew of The Ball-Eater leaned in, as one.
“L-let a real b-bard show you how it’s done. Mmm...now. It all started on one…one starry night…”

Trip to 70's in Brazil on Spotify
プレイリスト on Spotify 「Trip to 70's in Brazil」
2.Jorge Ben「Apareceu Aparecida」1970
4.Edson Frederico「Bobeira」1975
5.Lo Borges「Clube Da Esquina Nº 2」1979
6.Antonio Carlos E Jocafi「Glorioso Santo Antonio」1973
8.Toninho Horta E Orquestra Fantasma「Diana」1979
10.Sergio Mendes「Aquelas Coisas Todas」1979
12.Simone「Valsa Rancho」1977
13.Ivan Lins「Velas Icadas」1979
14.Carlos Lyra「Canaa」1975
16.Francis Hime「Luisa」1977
17.Teti「Passaras, Passaras, Passaras」1979
18.Milton Nascimento「Paixao E Fe」1978
20.Quarteto Em Cy「Cavalo-Ferro」1972
21.Raimundo Fagner「Cebola Cortada」1977
22.Gal Costa「De Onde Vem O Baiao」1978
25.Vinicius De Moraes Con Maria Creuza Y Toquinho「Que Maravilha」1970
26.Elis & Tom「So Tinha De Ser Com Voce」
28.Tania Maria「Samba De Orly」1975
29.Doris Monteiro「Maita」1976
31.Chico Buarque「Sinal Fechado」1974
34.Milton Nascimento & Lo Borges「Um Gosto De Sol」1972
35.Sidney Miller「Línguas De Fogo」1974
36.O Terco「Ponto Final」1975
37.14 Bis「Tres Ranchos」1979
38.Guilherme Arantes「Estrelas」1979

Episode 48
The band of misfits arrive in Nicodranas and hand over the ship to Orly, saying their goodbyes before splitting up the party. Caleb, Nott, and Jester head into the city to find a bookstore for the wizard, once there he picks up about 25 gold worth of normal paper, a book on the history of Nicodranas, and a romance novel about two sailors on opposing ships. Meanwhile Beau, Fjord, and Caduceus search for a blacksmith at the request of Caduceus. He's been in possession of a broken sword hilt for some time and has made it his pet project to fix it up. Unfortunately the blacksmith informs him it seems to be Uthodernian made (a place far far up north) and is out of his, and probably most other's, skill range to fix.
With the shopping done the Nein reconvene at the Lavish Chateau and visit Jester's mother once again. She smothers her daughter with kisses and subtly pleads with her to take back Nugget the blink dog. The dog has destroyed the side room jester use to live in and has grown quite a bit since she last saw the pup, him being so young on top of being a blink dog has definitely taken a toll on Marion and her room. Ms. Lavorre sets the Nein up with some rooms while they all head out to investigate the mage tower, all except Caleb who stays back to read his new books and look after Nugget.
At the tower, Fjord and Beau notice that the balcony they tried to reach before is no longer there. Still no door is visible on the outside and the nearest balcony that is there is about 60ft. up. Fjord heads over to a nearby fish merchant to see what he knows about the tower, leaving the others to ponder over this strange building. Jester attempts to knock against the hard stone, I mean what else are they gonna do, and that actually seems to do the trick as a door appears and opens inside to reveal a little goblin man.
The group try to talk their way past him, saying they wish to set up an appointment with the mage for they have dire information he must hear. Unfortunately the closest appointment he can schedule them for is about 17 months out. Beau reiterates that it's an emergency and he must hear what they have to say and the goblin concedes a little, telling them to return in the morning, as his master has likely headed to bed by now, and maybe Yusa would be in a good mood and let them in.
Fjord returns after the door closes and disappears, but not empty handed! He managed to have bought himself a rather large snapper and gotten little information on the tower. The others inform him of what he missed and naturally he doesn't believe them until Caduceus reassures him it's true.
With dusk approaching the Nein return to the Lavish Chateau and offer the snapper to the chef to include in their dinner. They spend a nice evening with Ms. Lavorre, sharing stories and food before heading to bed.
They wake early and all set out for the Open Quay, where the mage tower lies. Once there they're met by the one and only Yusa having his morning tea on the balcony. He's very stubborn in letting these strangers in, obviously, but allows Caduceus and one other in when the firbolg offers him his best tea. Beau accompanies him inside and the door disappears behind them.
The two of them try to explain why they've come here, telling the mage about news they've heard about the war, the attack on the Zauber Spire, their dealings with Uk'otoa (leaving out key details of course) and how they believe it may all be connected. He isn't really shocked by much of they tell him so they resort to showing him the happy fun ball. Now this catches his eye as he knows of the owner of the ball, and just how incredibly dangerous it is. He tells the two that he wants the ball in return for his allyship. Eventually he brings the others in, announcing to them he will be keeping the happy fun ball, and in exchange he will offer his tower as a sort of anchor to the coast for them, meaning whenever Caleb wishes to teleport himself and his friends back here his tower will receive them.
As another sign of trust the Nein show Yusa the dodecahedron, allowing him to gaze into it and attempt to identify it. It's something new to him, and as an elder elf mage that's very rare, it's power is beyond him but he does recognize it's danger. At the request of the Nein he does allow them to leave with it so long as they keep it under very tight wraps. Before bidding them farewell he takes Caleb upstairs to have him learn the rune for his teleportation room, and assures him that while it was incredibly dangerous for him and his friends to seek out this tower and him, sometimes risks don't end badly. And he sends them on their way.
They spend over more day in the city before planning to leave for Felderwin. Jester's mother gives her a necklace with a ruby in it, so she can always be with her daughter, and the Nein say a proper farewell to the Ruby of the Sea this time (while she insinuates that if they don't watch over her daughter she has many suitors willing to do whatever she asks…). On the road to Felderwin Beau asks Jester to send a message to Dairen, her teacher and more than likely gal pal in the Cobalt Soul. When she responds she sounds injured and tells Beau, through Jester, that she is safe but still in Bladegarden recovering.
Tensions between Beau and Caleb run high when the two remote kids get into an argument about what transpired at Yusa's tower. Neither of them seem to understand each other very well and it only makes it worse as Caleb is trying to say that he doesn't trust powerful mages like that and he's upset the team wanted to mess around with that tower so much because he knows who is after him and if they find the Nein with him they'll kill them to get to him. And Beau tries to tell him that no matter what they'll have his back and he can't stop that from happening. Even though it was dangerous to speak to Yusa at all they need to start letting people in who may know more than they do about the things they have on them. One way or another people will be after them for what they know and what they have. Of course the fight ends with Caleb storming off after getting in the last word.
Once in Felderwin they see the destruction the war has wrought on them, fields burned and slashed, buildings razed to the ground and a surplus of crown's guard and righteous brand patrolling the streets. They notice a group of righteous brand being ordered by an elven woman who is joined by another elder elven man from a flash of blue light. Caleb recognizes these two as archmages with the Cerberus assembly. Lady Ves Derogna, archmage of antiquity and Martinet Ludinous Delete, archmage of domestic protection.
They ride past, not wanting to bring attention to the goblin girl and runaway mage with them, and head to a place Nott knows well. Yezzah's apothecary, the halfling man she saved, has been burned to the ground. There's no immediate signs of death or life but Nott and the others keeps searching through the rubble, eventually coming across the entrance to a basement. The door is locked with arcane means but doesn't hold up after a dispel magic and bashing from Yasha. Inside is obvious signs of a struggle, heavy scratch marks embedded in the wall, scuffing on the floor, and destroyed furniture save for a single chair in perfect condition in the center of the room and a steel chest.
The chest is also locked with an arcane lock but Nott's tenacity manages to break through it and open the chest, ignoring the plume of gas the spurts from the trap. Inside the chest is a strange steel tripod with a platform atop it, three vials of strange liquids, and two partially burned pages of notes.
What can be read from the notes speaks of how they were having the alchemist, Yezzah, distill a strange substance they managed to force from what else other than that dodecahedron the Nein have been carrying around. The one that belongs to the Xhorhassians and was stolen from them by the empire. It also tells of its effects it seems to have had on the soldiers, seeming to bend time and space and entropy. Further on the words begin to mention Trent Ikithon and his students, and how they could be helpful in the endeavors.
Having taken all they could from that basement the Nein rush out behind Nott who makes a beeline to the cart and they ride down the road to a woman's house. Old lady Edith, Nott knows her well. The old woman opens the door to be greeted by Nott's disguised face demanding that she see her son. Edith is shocked, believing Nott had died, but brings out Lukas, a 5 year old halfling boy who also is shocked at Nott's presence. Seems his father had told him she had died to the goblins. Nott hugs her son and asks what he knows about the attack and his father's disappearance, given what he tells her she believes the elven mage woman was making him do experiments on the dodecahedron, when the Xhorhassians found out and attacked the city. No one found his body and Nott promises Lukas she will find him and that she believes he's alive. With that the boy closes the door and Nott turns to face an absolutely shook group of friends behind her.
They need to talk.
