Review of Ordinary Virgin Marula Oil
Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil is a clinically proven facial oil with antioxidant benefits. Besides providing moisturization, it protects against environmental stressors, free radicals, and UV rays. Its luxurious formula is ideal for daily use, and its luxurious price tag will be hard to resist. But what is so great about this product? Let's see. This is one of the best facial oils on the market.
The Ordinary 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil comes in a white dropper bottle with a black cap. The packaging is similar to that of other Ordinary products. The dropper helps disperse the oil evenly. It is easy to carry around because it's lightweight. Its price is competitive with other brands that offer similar products. More information can be found on Amazon or the website of the brand.
Marula kernels are cold-pressed by the Ordinary. This oil is rich in procyanidin and linoleic acids, essential ingredients for healthy skin. This oil is a moisturizing and hydrating moisturizer that restores skin's radiant color. Its price is what makes it superior to other oils.
Marula oil from The Ordinary is cold-pressed using kernels of marula trees. It's rich in both oleic and linoleic acids. It also contains procyanidin, an antioxidant that helps restore skin's healthy tone. Besides its moisturizing properties, marula oil is rich in vitamin C and E and is also a good source of anti-oxidants.
The Ordinary Virgin Marula Oil has many benefits. It is rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants, which can help protect the skin from external aggressors and improve skin's resilience. In addition to healing, it prevents the signs of sun damage and strengthens the surface of the face. It absorbs quickly into the skin, making it an excellent moisturizer. It can also be used to set makeup for the day.
The Ordinary Virgin marula oils have many benefits. The oil's antioxidants can be beneficial to mature and dry skin types, as well as for the prevention of premature wrinkles. The oil is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which have been known to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. This type of fatty acids is also beneficial for the skin. A natural antioxidant is the best oil to moisturize this oil. It also has a protective barrier, so it can reverse the signs of sun damage.
The benefits of virgin marula oil include antibacterial and antioxidant properties. Because of its high Omega content, The Ordinary Virgin Marula Oil is a wonderful moisturizer. It's also great for sensitive skin. This product can also be used as a primer for makeup. It can be used to make a nightcream, in addition to all these other benefits. Because it is deeply absorbed into the skin, you can use it as a facial cream. It is rich, but it is not cheap. Cure Organics offers a cheaper, more affordable alternative.
The benefits of marula oil include antioxidant protection. Marula oil is rich in vitamins C, E, and also has an obscure antioxidant called the epicatechin. It can prevent wrinkles from forming and protect the skin against harmful free radicals. It also has a protective effect on the skin, as it can reduce inflammation. It also helps to repair and restore the skin's moisture barrier.
The Ordinary Virgin Marula Oil contains high levels of antioxidants. This oil has several different antioxidants, including vitamins C and E. It also has a phytochemical known as epicatechin. This oil is extremely effective in fighting off free radicals, which can cause skin to turn a different color, dry out, or wrinkle. This is a great choice for cosmetics and Skin Care Products. Its high content of fatty acids also means that it is a good antioxidant.
Marula oil has high levels of antioxidants as well as fatty acids. This oil is also natural moisturizer. Massaged into the skin, it melts into a serum-like texture. It is rich in antioxidants and can help protect the skin from harmful UV rays. It is safe for most skin types. Marula fruits offer many benefits. Marula fruit's distinctive and delightful fragrance is sure to be a favourite in your skin care routine.

sunday riley juno facial oil
Sunday Riley’s Juno Facial Oil is the very first facial oil I’ve ever used, and I can’t say that I regret trying this out one bit. Although the price is slightly more expensive than other facial oils in the market, using this oil actually has been a very pleasant first experience.
For a start, I bought Juno over Sunday Riley’s more famed oils Luna and UFO, because I wanted something a little more gentle and less potent. Luna is Sunday Riley’s bestseller, with ingredients targeting to diminish fine lines and wrinkles. UFO (Ultra Clarifying Face Oil) is meant for people who have troubled skin. Juno, aiming to restore and give a natural glow with cold-pressed antioxidants, seemed right up my alley.
When I first applied it I wasn’t blown away. Oils are hard to use! Put on too little and it feels like it makes no difference to your skin. Put on too much and your skin just feels greasy even when you wake up the next morning. Plus, Juno, and all the other Sunday Riley facial oils, has this herby earthy scent that I was decidedly not a fan of.
I started to like Juno after I got the hang of applying it. I usually use around 2-3 drops on my face, and I prefer to spread the oil over my palms and gently press the oil into my skin instead of rubbing it in. I find that the oil does help keep in the various products (toner, serum, moisturiser) on my face through the night. Juno provides this additional layer of hydration that helps to gel all the various steps of my skincare routine to really rejuvenate my skin. The only downside is that my face does feel a little greasy every morning if I apply the oil at night, but doing my daily AM cleansing remedies that. I sometimes also like to mix 1-2 drops of Juno with my foundation for an added boost of radiance.
The only downside to Juno would probably be its smell. Other than that, this facial oil was a perfect first step for me. My skin does indeed look brighter after consistent use. I wouldn’t say its the easiest product to use, but once you are familiar with it, it just makes so much sense to dab some on at the end of your routine. I actually finished this oil and am looking to repurchase it soon, which is a testament to how much I like Juno. If you know me, you will know that I hardly ever finish my products. Usually I use up 3/4 of it and I find something else to replace it.
With that being said, I’m not sure if I’ll recommend for everyone to start using facial oils because it really depends on your skin type and what problems you are looking to address. Oils are not for everyone, and even then, not all oils suit all skin types. I learnt this the hard way when I tried Drunk Elephant’s Virgin Marula Oil (one of their bestsellers) and my face broke out into rashes that only went away after 1-2 weeks. I find that this article by Self is really helpful if you’re new to this and want to know what sort of oils to use and what to avoid.
If you’re looking to try out facial oils but don’t want to break the bank (Sunday Riley is known for being notoriously expensive), I would recommend to try Fourth Ray Beauty, a sister brand to Colourpop. They have a wide variety of oils that will definitely match any skin concern you are looking to address. If not, Pixi and The Ordinary also have relatively inexpensive oils that you can try out as well. I particularly like the Rose Oil Blend from Pixi (smells so good!) and The Ordinary’s 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil.

Is night cream legit or does regular moisturizer work fine? I tried using a day cream/night cream routine but the night cream gave me whiteheads :/
This is also a good one! I hope I’ve answered it appropriately 😖
Listen, the only reason you’d need two separate creams is if your moisturizer has SPF in it because that will most definitely clog pores if worn overnight. The night cream thing is definitely an attempt to upsell, especially when it comes to younger people. I could see if someone nearing 40 wanted that extra bump of moisture because skin loses more and more as we age.
If you’re feeling like you need a bit more moisture at night (skin’s restoration process accelerates during sleep), consider getting a lightweight facial oil and add about 3 drops to your normal moisturizer before you put it on.
Suggestions (these are products I’ve actually tried):
1) Drunk Elephant’s Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil - $40, 15mL- This is very expensive, but it’s by far the best absorbing oil I’ve ever tried. It’s lightweight, actually leaves my skin looking brighter in the morning, and it perfect when I just need a little extra moisture.
2) Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate - $47, 30mL- I don’t wanna be biased since Kiehl’s loads me up with free stuff, but this one is great. It’s definitely more affordable than what you’d get from DE. It’s a lavender and evening primrose oil that smells AMAZING. Since the lavender is soothing, it’s great for sensitive skin too.
3) The Ordinary’s 100% Plant-Derived Squalane - $8, 30mL- I love this brand for making skincare accessible to everyone. The price is right. A little about squalane: it’s naturally found in the skin so it doesn’t cause breakouts and it absorbs well. It has a silky texture so a little bit spreads all over.
TMI TUESDAY (and skincare advice, i guess :D )

The Ordinary’s 100% Cold Pressed Virgin Marula Oil is what some would call a luxury oil and is 100% unrefined. Marula Oil is an antioxidant-rich oil that is obtained from kernels of the fruits on a Marula tree. This oil can hydrate the skin, smoothing and softening fine lines, help restore a radiant tone, offers antioxidant protection and has anti inflammatory effects.
**You can also use this to give your split ends some moisture and to tame frizz.
PROS:
- Cruelty Free, alcohol free, silicone free, Vegan, sulfate free, paraben free
- Lightweight and absorbs quickly. Not greasy
- Leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth
- Moisturizes my skin well. This would be great for those with really dry skin.
- Caused no irritation or breakouts
- Over time my face has gained a brighter and nice glow.
- A great dupe for DE version and only $7.99
CONS:
- Like other Ordinary products I have noticed some piling occur on occasion
- Has a natural scent but it is slightly unpleasant

The Ordinary Buying Guide
If you’re seasoned in the ways of skin care, The Ordinary’s website can make you feel like a kid in a candy store. To those with a bit less knowledge on the subject, it can be less than fun and mostly just confusing.
Here’s a product guide, broken down by skin type/concern, organized as to where you would use each product in your routine. Because I love you.
Oily Skin:
Immediately after cleansing: Salicylic Acid 2% Solution
After toner: Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
At the end of your routine: Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA or 100% Plant-Derived Squalane
Dry Skin:
After toner: Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
At the end of your routine: Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA and 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil or 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil
Dehydrated Skin:
After toner: Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
At the end of your routine: Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA and 100% Plant-Derived Squalane
Anti-Aging
Immediately after cleansing: Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution or AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
After toner: “Buffet”
After water-based products: Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F, Advanced Retinoid 2%, Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2%, Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%, Alpha Lipoic Acid 5%
At the end of your routine: Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA and/or 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil or 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil
Acne-Prone
Immediately after cleansing: Salicylic Acid 2% Solution and/or Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution and/or AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
After toner: Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
After water-based products: Advanced Retinoid 2% and/or Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%
At the end of your routine: 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
Hyperpigmentation
Immediately after cleansing: Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution and/or AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
After toner: Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% or Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA
After water-based products: Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F, Advanced Retinoid 2%, Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2%, Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%, Alpha Lipoic Acid 5%, Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%
At the end of your routine: 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
Puffy eyes
Before eye cream: Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
Feel free to mix and match products from different categories based on your needs (ex. oily skin, acne-prone, and hyperpigmentation).
Do not use more than one of each acid (AHA and BHA) in one night. Depending on your experience with acids, I wouldn’t suggest even the same day. Do not use acids on the same day as retinol. I wanted to provide you with options, but I would never suggest you use every product in the “Anti-Aging” category at one! As a precaution, I will italicize all of the acids/retinoids.
Also, do not use vitamin c serums and niacinamide in the same routine. Instead, use one in the AM and the other in the PM.

You Look Moist: An Instagram-Famous Makeup Artist on How She Cares for Her Skin
Welcome to You Look Moist, a column in which Man Repeller asks cool people with glowing visages how they achieved their supreme hydration (amongst other things). Today’s installment features Ali a.k.a. Sweet Mutuals, a makeup artist known for creating conceptual looks using her own face as a canvas.
How would you describe your skin?
I typically have oily skin, but the amount of makeup I wear for my job can sometimes dry it out, so the biggest challenge is trying to keep it balanced. Other than that, my skin isn’t too complicated.
How would you describe your skincare approach in general?
I would say it’s “medium-maintenance.” I only use a small rotation of products. Drinking water is the most intensive part of my routine. I try to drink a gallon a day.
Which skincare products are integral to your routine for achieving your ideal, glowing, well-moisturized complexion, and how/when do you use each of them?
In order to keep my skin healthy and hydrated, I use Drunk Elephant’s B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum, Mad Hippie’s Vitamin C Serum, and Revolution’s Green Tea and Collagen Hydrating & Plumping Serum day and night, followed by Drunk Elephant’s Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil. I also do a face mask 2-3 times a week. My favorites are The Ordinary AHA 30% BHA 2% Peeling Solution, which makes my face feel smooth and clean and Apieu Banana Sheet Mask, which gives me so much moisture and a lovely glow.
See All 6
What about makeup products?
Even though I’m a makeup artist, I don’t really wear makeup unless I’m photographing myself, or doing a promotional shoot or interview. I started experimenting with makeup almost two years ago, using my mother’s makeup products that are God-knows-how-old, simply because I didn’t see anyone else doing the kinds of looks I was interested in, and because it’s fun! Putting on makeup just for the sake of it is challenging and daring, and I love that feeling. Some of my go-to products are Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer, Huda Beauty Life Liner Double Ended Eyeliner Liquid & Pencil, and Claropsyche’s Real Fantasy palette for eyeshadow.
See All 3
What’s the cheapest product you use regularly and love?
I am in love with Covergirl’s Outlast All Day Lipcolor Transparent Clear Top Coat. It gives you shine like lipgloss does, and hydration the same way chapstick does. It’s the best of both worlds.
See All 1
Is there anything you try to avoid, skincare- or makeup-wise?
I try to avoid any cleansers that have alcohol in them–my favorite cleanser is Cosrx Low PH Good Morning Cleanser Gel. Matte foundation is also something I try to steer clear of as well. Instead, I really like Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r in the shade 460.
See All 2
Any next-level tips, tricks, or services that you swear by to help you look “lit from within”?
Drinking water. If it wasn’t for my father emphasizing how important this is, I have no idea what my skin would look like. Water is nature’s cure for almost anything, and it is integral in making my skin look its best. Apart from that, I would say that meditation has helped my skin as well. Clearing the mind seems to clear the small bumps on my forehead. A clear mind equals a clear face.

What’s your go-to product or trick for fixing a skin disaster?
My mom told me to put Vicks Vapor Rub on my small acne bumps at night before I go to sleep. Turns out, it works!
Do you do anything differently skincare-wise when you travel?
I actually don’t have a traveling skincare routine!
What’s something you wish your teenage self knew about taking care of your skin?
Just because you have oily skin doesn’t mean you should try to dry your skin out. Also, don’t buy products that aren’t meant for your skin just because the packaging is cute. And please drink more water!

Beauty Favourites of 2017 Part I - Skincare + Goals for 2018
2017 was a great skincare year for me! I’m proud of my skin progress year after year. I’m close as I can ever be to having healthy, clear skin free from blemishes and hyperpigmentation. I’m in my mid twenties and when I look at past photos of my teens to early twenties, it’s notable how my skin has improved since then. I went from having uncontrollable hormonal breakouts and an uneven skin tone to now barely any PMS related acne and my hyperpigmentation has cleared up and faded. And of course I’m loving the feedback I get from friends and strangers of how I look younger than my current age.
I have tried out many products so I want to note some skincare that resonated with me in 2017. Most of the products listed are currently active in my skincare routine until spring comes rolling in. Some products I will mention I won’t go into great detail because I wish to reserve the talk with its own dedicated blog post so keep in mind this is a list of highlights. Please! Bear with me, hear me out and get through my skincare rambling.
I want to outline all the products mentioned are at various price points (most under $120) and I understand we all come from different walks of life and may not afford all these products. Skincare and make up is my hobby. So yes, it is my choice to spend my hard earned coin on skincare and beauty related items. I view it as a form of self care, a daily ritual for me to focus on myself. My values are to think of others first but self care has improved how I feel about myself and my own confidence.
Long story short, this is my experience with skincare and I don’t encourage others to buy what I use. I recommend to always do your RESEARCH! The internet is a great tool and resource to learn how to care for your skin. Skincare is YMMV and I, myself, extensively spend time reading articles to figure out what works for my skin type (dry/normal). I’m sifting out ingredients and formulations that could help my targeted concerns such as uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, maintaining a healthy skin moisture barrier and preventing breakouts. Invest your time into learning and understanding what you are spending your money on so you make informed choices and avoid buying based on impulse and hype. I myself enjoy reading and watching other people’s best of posts and videos and learning about what they are loving.
So without further ado:
Note the following abbreviations: (D) -Day, (N) - Night, YMMV - Your mileage may vary, DE - Drunk Elephant, CAIS - Copper Amino Isolate Serum
Favourite Discovery in 2017: Drunk Elephant
A solid line of skincare products that the brand formulated to suit most skin types. Results were not immediate when I first used their serums but I saw a visible difference in my skin after 1 month. I own the following:
C-Firma Day serum (D) - Helped brighten my skin by lightening my hyperpigmentation and improve the overall tone of my skin. Used it twice in the week after toner, in the morning with a 15 minute wait time before the next product.
T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night serum (N) - 1 - 2 times a week at night. After applying NIOD’s CAIS serum, I apply one pump all over the face and wait 20 minutes before applying my next product. Benefits I seen are a more evened out skin complexion and smoother, less textured skin. My t-zone gets oily from time to time in the summer and this helps minimize the oiliness and my pores appear less visible.
Lala Retro Whipped Cream (D/N) - Great moisturizer for my dry/normal skin. Reserved this for the winter as it’s a bit heavy in the summer. I would wake up in the morning and my skin wouldn’t feel dehydrated.
Hydration Gel (D) - I can summarize this as a shot glass of hydration for the skin. I treat this product as a serum because of the lightweight gel texture but it’s not hydrating enough to be a moisturizer for my dry/normal skin.
Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil (D/N) - Used only during the winter because of the Canadian air being colder and drier. I would add two drops of this to my moisturizer. It’s rich in fatty acids, moisturizing, and absorbs well into the skin without the oiliness feel.
Shaba Complex Eye Serum (D/N) - Doesn’t help with my dark circles (mine are hereditary so sleep is the best solution) but it doesn’t irritate the eye area. I prefer eye serums over eye creams because of the irritation I would experience from the weight of the product on my eye area. Quickly absorbs in this delicate part of the face and keeps lines softened and hydrated. I had a good experience with copper peptides in my skincare so love that the ingredient is in this eye serum.
Old Faithful Brand I remain loyal to: Deciem’s NIOD
Since discovering Deciem and their house of brands a few years back, I discovered, tried and fell hard for two key products from NIOD that continue to keep my skin healthy and in tip top shape:
NIOD’s Copper Amino Isolate Serum 2:1 (Formally Copper Amino Isolate Serum 1.00%) (N) A few thoughts about what I noticed in terms of results: The speed at which my skin regenerates after minor breakouts is quicker (my recovery time from a fresh acne breakout is from 3 - 5 days instead of a week) and how my skin maintains its firmness after going through various seasons of humidity and dryness. I used up my last bottle of CAIS 1% and started using their new reformulation CAIS 2 this month so I currently seeing if there is any notable difference. I still have 5 - 6 empty bottles of this stashed away to testify my love for this product. I can’t tell you how much I love CAIS so look out for a dedicated blog post on this!
NIOD Contour Eye Concentrate (N) - While I have a few eye wrinkles, I like how the serum prevents further exaggeration. It hydrates and softens the lines and surrounding skin. Doesn’t help with dark circles (mine are hereditary) but as a wearer of eye makeup almost everyday, the skin around my eyes remain healthy looking, plump and youthful. My eye area gets swollen and painful from stress (hormones, irritation, crying) but it doesn’t look swollen or inflamed even though I feel it. This helps maintains the firmness of the skin around my eyes.
Favourite Breakout brand: Deciem’s The Ordinary
The offerings of this brand are formulations that are simple, pack a punch and at affordable pricing for the masses. I tried out mostly serums and an exfoliant and hope to try out more in the future:
Buffet Serum - water based, improved skin health with various peptides to diminish wrinkles, improves elasticity, promotes a healthy skin barrier, contains hyaluronic acid to hydrate.
Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA - brightens the skin, treats and fades hyperpigmentation, takes time to see results, not super dramatic
Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% - chemical exfoliant (AHA) to improve skin texture, evens out skin tone
Ascorbyl Tetralsopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F - oil based serum containing vitamin c, doesn’t irritate but not sure if it is making a difference
Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% - results are not immediate, good for anti aging over time
EUK 134 0.1% - great antioxidant serum, calms skin, reduces redness, don’t mix with acids
Notable Products I Enjoyed Throughout 2017: (Various Brands):
I make sure I have the following type of products in my skincare routine: low ph cleansers, acid toners and sunscreen. While targeted skincare treatments have done wonders for my skin, all of that can be undone if I don’t properly cleanse, tone and protect my skin. Here are some specific products I enjoyed using throughout 2017:
Sulwhasoo Snowise EX Cleansing Foam (N): I rotate through five low ph cleansers because skincare is fun and I like to try different brands and formulations. But the cleansing foam from Sulwhasoo has to be my favourite hands down. After oil cleansing, I would go in with this gentle foam cleanser. It lathers heavenly and cleanses without tightening/drying out my skin. Skin is left baby soft and oh, it has a nice, light, hanbang scent. Formulated at a ph level of 5.5, a good ph level that is important for maintaining your skin’s moisture barrier. I do have a back up of this but I’m reserving this cleanser for those nights I want to pamper my skin (even though my skin is pampered every night with an extensive night time routine).
Pixi Glow Tonic (N): A decent acid toner with 5% Glycolic Acid. Soaked this into a cotton square and swipe gently all over the face and neck. No alcohol and suitable for all skin types. Helps prep my skin for my AHAs/BHAs. No irritation and contains aloe juice, witch hazel, horse chestnut extract, ginseng root extract.
Son & Park Beauty Water (D): I would best describe it as a cleansing toner. I don’t use a cleanser in the morning so I would instead take a cotton square, soak it with the beauty water and lightly swipe my entire face and neck. This contains notable ingredients such as rose water, witch hazel, papaya extracts for a bit of exfoliation and helps remove any residues from the night before. Does contain alcohol, but it’s at the very end of the ingredient list. My skin has not experienced any irritation or dryness from the alcohol.
Makep:rem UV Defense Me Capsule Sun Gel Spf 50+ PA+++ (D)
This was unlike any other sunscreens I have tried and let me tell what made me buy 3 back ups of this after trying it for a week. It is a chemical sunscreen that applies with NO whitecast or greasiness. It is lightweight, like a gel and spreads like a serum. It is surprisingly moisturizing for my dry skin and applying a moisturizer feels too much on my skin with this. In the summer I can skip the moisturizer and just use this as my last step. I use the recommended amount (1/4 tsp = 3 pumps) to cover my entire face. Wait 10 minutes for it to dry down before going into makeup application. Decent product size (75mL) at a fair price ($24). From translations I found (COSDNA), the UV filters in this product are Avobenzone, Octocrylene and Homosalate for UVA and UVB sun protection.
Notable skincare trend:
7 Skin Method: I first heard about this through reddit forum AsianBeauty and online k-beauty retailer Glow Recipe. It’s a popular skincare trend that emerged from South Korea. Apparently thinly layering and patting in a hydrating toner or essence 7 times will maximize skin hydration. I tried it and wow it is seriously a game changer. They recommend to use a dime sized worth and best tapped in with your fingertips and wait until the product absorbs (when skin is no longer wet) before applying the next layer. I love using this method with Earth Recipe’s Energy Boosting toner. I tried it with a fermented essence and developed a rash of whiteheads so I’m steering clear of fermented essences for this method.
Goals for 2018:
Placing myself on a low buy for three months. I previously mentioned on my instagram I would be on a “no buy” and that clearly failed in the first week of January lol (I couldn’t pass up on a great deal on cotton squares). But in all seriousness, I’m on a tighter budget for a couple of months so as much as I want to indulge, I’m committed to avoid buying any new skincare, makeup, hair or body products.
Becoming more active on social media and creating content I’m happy with. It may mean many things but I want to post what I’m interested in and hope to discuss and share my interests in beauty. I’m also fascinated by skincare and makeup technology emerging from Asia and their developments. I understand daily posting is key to building and attaining more followers but my goal is to connect with like minded individuals who share the same interests as myself. At the same time, I want to put out something I can be proud of and I want it to feel authentic to my creative vision. As an artist, it’s a long process to create a new series of work but it’s important to connect with others for feedback and insight. We’ll see how this goes being the introvert I am but I’m optimistic.
Maintain and build this beauty blog for a year. It’s been a long two weeks writing and editing my first post and putting it out late January. I have full time job so this blog is a part time gig but I feel compelled to do my best to contribute what I learned and help others enjoy what has helped me.
And that’s it for now! Thanks for reading and look forward to the next post!

I love skincare night!! I recently tried the PTR pumpkin mask after we chatted about it and I love it. I got the six mini masks, and I like them all but would probably repurchase the pumpkin one. What would you try from the Ordinary? I’ve seen others talk about liking their products but I don’t know where to start. I’m also a UFO convert after Lou T’s photo.
ah yes yes!! i’m so glad you tried them. i loveeeeee the pumpkin mask and i agree. the pumpkin mask smells like pumpkin pie on your face which is perfect for fall. i think the other one i would get is the irish moor mask. everything else i felt like i could have gotten what they gave me from anywhere else? the 24k gold mask did make me feel super luxe though. from the ordinary i use their lactic acid 5% but i wanna bump it up to 10% now that my skin is used to it. i think my next purchase will be their retinol .2%. maybe also their virgin marula oil as it’s super moisturizing. their products are really affordable and i’ve liked trying stuff from them and i know others have to. their website can be a little bulky to read with all the scientific things they throw in there, so try looking at some third party reviewers!
