OKAY SO the fan game idea. Stick with me on this one I promise.

So it'd be an isekai story. Kinda like how you play as yourself as a pokemon in the mystery dungeon games, same thing would happen here. You'd get a character based on a personality test, and then you wake up in the Sonic universe as that character. It's never explained what happened in that universe prior to your arrival or anything. You have no abilities, because it's not like any of us know how to spin dash or fly or something. You'd learn abilities as the gane progresses though.

Pretty early on, you find that Eggman is using a machine (that I haven't named yet) that tears holes into other universes and timelines like a seam ripper and siphons resources from them to boot. He then uses those resources to grow his empire. In fact, by the time you show up, Eggman has taken over about half of the area the fan game is taking place in. It's implied that that machine is why you ended up in this mess in the first place. To make matters worse, you also eventually find out that this machine is about to self destruct from being overloaded with power and inundated with general interdimensional waste. If that happens, it will start tearing reality itself apart, completely messing uptime, space, everything. You're assigned a sidekick based on who you're playing as, and they help you go take down Eggman so you can go home.

I want to bring back hub worlds tbh. I miss that about Adventure 1.

I'd also want to let players make plenty of save files, mainly because of the next bullet point.

Currently, I want to make six playable characters: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge and Shadow. I know I don't want to make Knuckles' and Rouge's gameplay be about treasure hunting, but I'm not fully sure yet what their play styles would be.

The other playable characters would be NPCs in said hub world. You can chat with them, they might have side quests for you, or you can just not interact with them at all. I'd want the hub world to be cozy and a place that people would actually want to hang out in.

Sonic x Shadow Gens beat me to this, but in lieu of red rings, I want to make the collectibles be stray/lost Chao. At the end of the level, they're taken to a Chao rescue being run by Vanilla and Cream (and Cheese). Vanilla holds onto these Chao and lets you feed them, pet them, etc. You can also donate rings to Vanilla's rescue to unlock things like new toys for the Chao, more space, and other stuff. I can't make it as robust as SA2B's Chao Garden or my head might explode.

Instead of achievements, I want to make Silver an NPC who gives you a scrapbook. He tells you that he knows you'll figure out how to stop Eggman, and that you can document your journey in it. Basically, this would be a series of pictures that unlock from doing certain things (like collecting all the Chao in a level, getting a high score etc) Why Silver is there is anyone's guess; I just only recently realised that I never reay paid attention to him, and now i want to. So I'm including him here haha.

I'm using these polls i keep posting to figure out what might or might not work in terms of designing the gameplay. Right now, it seems like people might want lives to be a toggled option, people like the boost gameplay as well as physics-based/momentum gameplay, people like both 2D and 3D, and the story of the game is pretty important.

and as for your ACTUAL ask -- nothing too modern gets xianxia-fied! Hadestown was easy because it already had mythical elements due to being another myth. He just had to rewrite it in a way that would make sense in PIDW. And he doesn't xianxia too many musicals i think, some of them require too much outside context that would be too hard to translate.

Epic I think would be one that gets xianxia-fied, although that's one of the trickier musicals because Jorge has very specific musical motifs behind each character that makes it hard to translate into PIDW -- Hermes' is associated with the harp and the lyre but every time he's in a song he also comes with a very techno-disco-y (???) beat. Plus a lot of other technical aspects as well -- Scylla is the first to come to mind -- that SY's troupe doesn't have the manpower or funds for.

I think it could happen, though! It's just rather tough and it helps fuel SY's decision to keep the musical adaptations to a minimum AND to use musicals that aren't super modern. Hunchback of Notre Dame I think SY could get away with xianxia-fying. Anastasia too. I don't know many plays so I can't say what plays he could xianxia-fy, but he DOES write stage adaptations for some of the stories he tells his troupe, and finds that he really likes it!

It's surprisingly fun coming up with roles, lines, story beats, etc, trying to figure out how he could make this into that. Writing is fun, and the mental challenge that comes with even more so. He loves it!

He makes a stage play telling the story of Hades and Persephone -- albeit altered to fit into Hadestown, rather than the original tale.

And eventually he starts making up his own stories as well -- retellings of myths from PIDW and his world, and things he made up himself to tell certain messages. Rarely does he play a major role in any of these stage plays themselves -- much to Bingge's dismay. It's too much attention for his poor thin face to take! He most often just plays Orpheus. He prefers to stay behind the scenes during plays.

But you can always find him outside the theater when his troupe is in town! If they're not preparing for a stage performance, SY loves going out to tell stories to a crowd! It brings him a lot of joy to watch them sit on the edge of their seats, hanging on to his every word. He especially loves telling stories to children, they get so excited and their interruptions can get annoying sometimes, but its endearing.

And oh, he does love to sing. He's just so very shy about it. It's a miracle that his troupe managed to convince him to be Orpheus -- but that's probably why they waited until opening night to do it. People get so weird when he sings -- it makes him self-conscious. So he only sings when he's alone or around his troupe while on the road.

Oh yeah no, Bingge is OBSESSED with this group. Specifically one mister Shen Yuan who looks so very much like his old teacher, but ISNT him. He's not sure if Shen Yuan is a descendant of Shen Qingqiu's family line, or straight up the man's reincarnation, but at this point he doesn't actually care that much he just needs the man's attention.

It's actual so funny I think. I don't think fan merch exists in PIDW which is a problem, because Bingge WILL resort to stalking. He's going to orchestrate a fan meeting with SY mark his fucking words. He has to see what this man is like when he's not on stage -- is he as pure as the character he portrays? Or is he as rotten as the face he wears.

(It turns out to be the former, and Bingge doesn't know what to do about it. Kidnapping is high on that list. It is SO high on that list.)

Seeing all the drama and Bad moving away from the geeen blob and his gang since qsmp make me wonder.

Like I am so glad he’s found a group and community that actually treat him amazing. It was horrible to see what he had to go through during dsmp with the community and during purgatory on qsmp.

I’m just a nosy person here and wonder so hard who finally got the memo in his head or if he realized it himself that that group was just… bad. Like, for a group that say they see him as a father figure, pretty yikes how they treated him, his boundaries and his dog. It’s just worse when you think about all the good things we’ve heard Bad did behind the scenes for years on years just to be treated like that. Like imagine finding out said friend group was sending such art post on discord to minors??? (And then seeing as bad is close with tubbo now like? Holy)

Its definitely like. weird, bad weird. Bads a rather shy person, he's said so on his streams and we can kinda tell when he gets in large groups he likes to hang in the back and had to get used to singing in front of people over the course of the qsmp, so it makes sense to me that he wouldn't stand up for himself but that seeing tubbo and q and Tommy and them getting wronged would kinda make it click in his head, yk?

I never was a hardcore bbh fan till qsmp, I learned his lore and his friendships from the sidelines in the dsmp but whenever I tried to watch his streams the way others treated him made me very uncomfortable. So to me that's another level of shock that like on top of the verbal boundary ignoring that they did on stream with the language they also made those jokes about Lucy, the stuff they did in Jackbox, etc. I kinda new about the Jackbox stuff from clips I've seen but I never really realized how bad it was. All this on top of the fact that bad was paying for/hosting both the DSMP and the manhunt servers by himself like that's CRAZY. I've also been told this second hand bc this was DSMP era, but in the stream where skeppy and bad were shaving bads head apparently dream was calling bad ugly during a time when the internet was insulting bads looks and skeppy had to tell him to shut up and was trying to get bad to kick him off stream. like what the hell

And you have to think about like. if that's what they were doing in public to him, and that's what they were doing in private to someone so outspoken now such as tubbo and tommy, and the racist shit they did in public to Q, what the fuck were they doing in private with BBH???? Like its crazy to think about

ive been asked out before by someone i was wondering if i liked or not and said yes not because i wanted to date but because i didnt want to refuse the person's expectations. the idea of a relationship felt trapping and i would be expected to do things i didnt want to do and have feelings i didnt have. so i think i didnt like that person after all

ive had crushes based on being attracted to people which is normal i think. and then i want to know more about them and get nervous around them and such. but the moment they do something even a little off putting to me i lose all interest immediately. i was attracted to their body or their style and what i wanted to get close to was some ideal of them in the moment i saw them as amazing

i admire people and then my brain thinks thats love. i find myself thinking someone is cool and my brain asks "do you want to kiss them" and i go :( at the thought because my brain is super not cool bringing up that idea. i don't know. do i? i don't think i do.... but what if? but...

and i feel that bit of admiration or vague, interpretable-as-attraction spark of positive feeling and i feel uncomfy at that too. i find myself not wanting the feeling to go further. is that because i don't really like them or is it because my heart is locked in a box and would rather die before it comes out? but i feel like if i truly loved someone i would want the feeling to go further, so why am i even worrying about it?

Also unrelated but yes it's super scary to perform like that and I have such horrible and genuinely crippling anxiety usually so I really don't how I'm able to do it. Like I'm someone who has anxiety about leaving my home and I'm in fight or flight mode while working and borderline shaking with anxiety half of the time because people. And I'm terrified while preparing for the show but somehow it all dissapears when I'm on the stage?? It really feels like I become my character and in that moment, I'm not me but I am whoever I'm playing.

ok i do have complicated feelings on nat's death. firstly like air this one out rq: real fucking fuming that some ppl serioussllyyyyy are attacking freaking juliette for it, like? ok.... so your response to "its really fucked up that they killed nat who had finally found peace and was starting to overcome her addiction etc." was to attack the actress who has every right to leave a job if she wants to. i guess in other news 1+1=4.

i dont think it helps either that her "recovery arc" wadnt my favourite not bc i like. AGAIN im not saying this bc i dont think you can recover or get better its more like.. i was never a fan of the execution of it. i felt like it happened a bit too fast, and i would have preferred more scenes with natalie and lottie rather than natalie and lisa and natalie and the rest of the cult and i feel like that would have been more powerful to me bc the cult themselves feel kind of just... underdeveloped, and very much functional as a means for lottie and whats going on with her . i fully expect them to never be mentioned again after some point and to be completely ignored with the way this show has been going

and like i dont mind lisa that much but i dont now im kinda uninterested in characters that just get introduced and we immediately get SO much focus on them when theres, as i said , other more interesting and efficient ways to explore similar things (natalie and lottie a better dynamic for example) AND other stuff thats getting ignored big time.

like as an aside. i dont mind lisa as much BUT one example is also fucking walter and i dont like how theyre using him to kinda reduce misty to a bit of a joke AND cheap out on her own development (i think she can carry fine on her fucking own without him) but also bc he takes up so much runtime with his goofy little bits that just dont do it for me when again we're missing other shit from, like, FUCKING SIMONE FOR EXAMPLE whos barely been mentioned which is crazy. actually crazy. that she has barely been mentioned and tai's whole storyline has been ignored like that

but anyway even with lisa, i dont know- the whole thing with going to se her family, ugh... call me a jaded asshole, but like it just felt so. unsubtle. with the waythat whole scene was kinda executed. is that a cunt thing to say. but i dont know theres also other parts of the cult i just cant fuckin vibe with- i just feel like its so... clumsily done at times, and i cant quite articulate why i think that.

anyways . i get why a lot of ppl dont like natalies death in the end bc yeah it is kinda... a shitty message to send, even if i do kinda feel like well yeah damn yeah you know. but like also i do think theres the other obvious issue of like... with the way this show is, and as good as it is, i feel like theres gonna be more problems that develop and exacerbate over time. i really feel like they needed to introduce more characters earlier on and/or reveal less in present day bc whilst i dont think the tension is everything , and i dont think the shock value of ppl being hunted/dying in the past timeline is everything i do think its gonna have effects on the present time line and them trying to compensate. nd anyway now theyre just gonna do shit like try to tragically kill the women in the present vis a vis nat for like kinda no reason imo bc i do think it was . ultimately such a weird fucking way for her to die and to end even if i did resonate with her dying scene

and i do think there IS some bite that kinda being lost and its a bit weird when they write themselves into holes and have to try and flesh out new characters in the past that we know are just gonna straight up die so soon. a

Alot of the time when people talk about her its usually in relation to Craig in some way especially after Breaking the Ice, but honestly she’s so interesting on her own too. Like this is a girl whose been picked on and bullied by other kids for coming off as strange and weird and because of it, she found comfort in something that embraces her wildness rather than mocks it, which is nature. She has very limited interactions with other kids, instead surrounding herself with animals, hence her sometimes being blunt and rude with others as she doesn’t know how to properly articulate herself in social interactions with others which probably starts the whole cycle again of Wildernessa being isolated by others for coming off too strongly and her digging herself deeper into this “people are awful nature is better.” Its really no wonder she’s dedicated herself to looking out for the creek and its animals because its genuinely the only place she has where she feels accepted in, where she feels any comfort. Or whatever whatever

the steep nosedive true bloods taken with the end of season 3 into season 4 im like damn what happened like season 3 started off super fun lots of crazy plots all being juggled around and the crazy vampire drama really hitting new heights but its like they had too many boring plotlines going that kinda diluted the more fun parts of the season and it all kind of culminated in a fairly bland wrap up all things considered but damn what happened in season 4 its like the introduction of a ton of new supernatural things that dont really have the same kind of grounding in the world building or themes and they all feel fairly interchangeable as well and now erics just some boring loser sad boy with no memories sookie has to teach how to be housebroken or something rather than instigator of the most fun drama and shit and they seem to feel a tad self conscious of how silly the whole thing is and the tone has changed to be a bit like joking about how ridiculous everything is which idk i think with a show like this u gotta take yourself dead seriously and be like yes there are haunted babies and witches curses and werepanthers whatever it doesnt work if its not presented as just as dead seriously as possible like in many ways like if ur trying to go for a bit more over the top whatever its gotta keep being presented like it always has dont undercut it dont be shy about making a completely ridiculous vampire soap opera its literally fine be brave <3 also i swear to god if i have to sit thru one more sam merlotte storyline im breaking into the shows world and killing him myself thats the other baffling thing is season 1 really set up the idea that like plenty of major characters could die and you know u can prune back the cast if you need to and raise the stakes whatever but since then nobody major has died at all when frankly they really need to... chop chop nobody needs another sam or jason or bill storyline its enough goodbye
