Please Help A Homeless Family Pay Bills & Stay Housed?
PAYPAL | AMAZON WISHLIST | KOFI | GOFUNDME
VENMO: @penaltywaltz | CASHAPP: $afteriwake23 | ZELLE: DM me for email address
02/09/24 - New Post!
So good news! My glasses arrived, and they are amazing, and I am in love with both the regular glasses and the sunglasses. They didn't come with hard cases, but! Walmart Optometry was having a 75% off sale on hard cases so I picked up two for me, two for the glasses I plan on getting my daughter as soon as we get her an updated prescription and one for my mom's reading glasses for $14. I may go back and get the Pride cleaning cloths for Lena since she got rainbow and Pride cases. They're going to be, like, $2.
I also got denture supplies for my mom since she said it looks like she'll get her full and partial dentures when her teeth are pulled on the 26th, so she has the stuff on hand to clean them and to keep them secure so food particles don't get stuck underneath.
I would love to come up with $225 to get Lena an eye exam and the glasses she wants from Zeeolol (I have a 25% coupon to use with it...the exam will be $60 - $80 at Walmart, though). One is bisexual pride flag colors, the other is trans pride flag colors, and her current glasses are pre-quarantine, so she needs a new scrip badly. A friend may be able to help me with this later in the month, but if I can get the exam done this week that would be fantastic.
I also need $150 to pay a bill that is overdue and a bill that is due today. The $400 tied up with the loan company plus anything over the $350 I'm trying to get now will go towards keeping the room until March 2nd. Please help and/or reblog if you can. Thank you!
$1044/$1600
(I just got a donation through GoFundMe while I was waiting to get on my laptop...I'll get the money in a few days and it will go to paying off another sorely overdue bill, plus laundry if I get it by Monday)

Optometry Medical Billing Services-Why Outsourcing Can Be Good?
Tumblr media
Any business turns to a service provider basically and primarily to save time, in which Optometry Billing Services providers are no different. Most eye-care practices may fall prey for overhead costs due to internal resources and inefficient optometry medical billing. Whether you consider outsourcing your optometry billing or not, these factors/benefits will help you decide if you are making a right move.
Advantages of outsourcing your optometry billing
As an optometry service provider if you have been wondering whether outsourcing can yield you great benefits or get you good revenue, you should read through this blog till the end.
#1: Majority of your workload is reduced
Let us assume that you are leaving for the day at your office and the next day morning when you come back, you discover all of your billing work is completed. This is what it happens when you outsource your optometry medical billing. Moreover, tying up with a company like 24/7 Medical Billing Services makes it quick with insurance eligibility, clearinghouse and payment rejections, billing, payment posting, and AR clean-up tasks.
#2: You save huge on staff expenses
Firstly, you may not need more staffs to maintain your optometry medical billing, and whomever you have need not spend hours on fighting with medical billing and coding, just focus on operational activities. Since repetition and billing errors will be highly reduced, your revenue cycle gets automatically managed well.
#3: You stay one step ahead in the present market race
No one would like to fall behind in a race. The same feeling goes with optometry medical billing. If primary claims don’t get filed, it leads to delay in secondary claims and patient billing. Therefore if you outsource your optometry billing, you can highly improve your everyday operations, vividly.
#4: You stay calm on insurance follow-ups
Unbelievably, you get enough time to focus on your patient care instead of making calls to your payer for claims follow-up. There is always something with insurance claims that just 10% of your messy claims may take up to 90% of your time. 24/7 Medical Billing Services’ expert team can extend up to any level and regularize claims follow-up and do the work on your behalf.
#5: You work smarter with insurance eligibility verification
In providing the right treatment, you may not be able to focus on patient satisfaction. Most patients think that optometry billing insurance may not cover many things they come for treatment, since in most places, it is considered a luxury treatment. Therefore, insurance eligibility verification becomes the first step in evaluating their benefits of verification and to show them what they are liable for and what not as well.
Conclusion
Outsourcing your optometry medical billing can save you huge time, money and improves your quality of treatment and satisfaction with your patients, leading to consistency in revenue generation. At 24/7 Medical Billing Services, we provide you a dedicated billing team with whom you can communicate directly and know about your client accounts and status of pending ARs. To do the best thing, you should always run faster in the race. Outsourcing can do wonders to your optometry billing if you do it at the right time. So there were representatives from the sexual health/gender-affirming care center at Vista Community Clinic at the shelter today, and they told me I could get ALL of Lena's care (including dental and optometry) done through them for less than what it will cost at TrueCare for just her wellness check. I haven't canceled the TrueCare appointment yet, but hopefully, we'll get a call from the GAC people about getting her in for an evaluation and a chance to start transitioning, plus a general wellness check. I'm going to put the $300 towards paying whatever VCC will charge and any meds they may prescribe.
Also, we picked up our mail today and looked at our bills. Three credit companies have $10 and some change payments left and then they're paid off, so it'll be maybe two months unless my mom's credit consolidation company pays the change. One bill we owe is $100 with a $35 minimum payment, and the credit consolidation company pays $18 so I'd like to knock that one down to $82. K Jordan is one of the big ones; we owe around $650 total with a $235 minimum payment, and I may have to get it current to add it to the credit consolidation program. Also, one of our credit companies is about to send us to a collections agency if I don't pay $110 ASAP. There are three more bills we have to wait on to see what we owe and what we can knock out to pay less, but on a bright note our car insurance premium is almost paid off (we only owe $203 now) and we don't have to pay anything this month. I'd love to knock that out completely, too, but it's not a pressing matter.
We've had to take out four payday loans this month (two for my mom, two for me) to cover various emergencies that have come up, so that's around $1000 I need to come up with to cover them. Those aren't due (for the most part) until April 3rd, but it's going to hinder our chances of getting housing if I have to pay them in full on the 3rd, so any help covering those would be amazing. And while Lena's prescription hasn't been sent to the pharmacy we use yet (I think), I'm going to badger them tomorrow and then I'll have about 10 days once it's filled to come up with $1500 to cover them. I also will need to cover Lena's new glasses once we can get her in for an exam, and that's going to be about $200 with lenses and frames.

So good news! We're in a 30-day shelter with a caseworker and help from the City of Encinitas Homeless Support Program to get housing with 30 days. It's a brand new shelter and we're all together in a room with the cats, and they're really eager to help get us out of our homeless situation.
Right now, we have about $1000 in money we can save up each month. If we can pay off the debts that my mom owes that she's in credit consolidation for, that frees up another $187 each month. If I can pay off my installment loan, which is four payments totaling $475, that frees up another $124 a month. I think my mom just paid off a credit card debt, but we have $100 debt that I think has gone to collections, $500 we need to pay on a card before that one goes to collections, and $300 for my PayPal 4 in 4 payments. We also have two payday loans I'd like to pay off before they're due at $600.
So if I can cover all that debt this month, we'll have well over $1,500 to put towards a rental payment in May, if we can get help with a security deposit and first month's rent through housing programs. We might be able to afford a two bedroom apartment in Fallbrook with that much. We'd need to come up with money to move our stuff out of storage as well, but a friend of mine has covered the big units until April 1st and may cover them an extra month if needed.
Any help would be amazing. We are so close to getting out of hotels/our car and into something stable. I'm setting the goal at $3000 for now because I don't have wifi at the shelter and can't check exactly how much my mom owes for her debt consolidation still.
But any extra will help with gas to get to places where we can get things we need (birth certificates, Lena's social security card with her dead name, Lena's psych eval, my mom's dental stuff, and doctor/therapy appointments) and food in case the snafu with my food stamps isn't fixed right away (we get three meals here, which is fine for me and Lena, but my mom is basically still on a soft food/liquid diet and they're still needing to get stuff for her and the gentleman here who has no teeth).
Please help if you can, and please reblog as well! We would all greatly appreciate it.
$500/$5000
EDIT: We found out today that Lena is currently uninsured. The meds she was prescribed for her mood disorder are $1,500 out of pocket. She needs the medication badly. Please help?

Correctly choose between Eye Codes and E/M Codes
Unlike other specialties, #ophthalmologists have two sets of codes to choose from for #ophthalmology billing. Check your diagnosis code(s), eye codes are more restrictive as to what diagnosis meets medical necessity, and the specific codes can vary by payer. E/M codes do not share those same restrictions.
Use E/M codes for visits that have a medical element. If the exam is strictly visual and contains no medical elements, an eye code is the right choice.

A successful and profitable optometry practice is not possible without accurate and competent medical billing and collection processes. An optometry practice is also having the same goal as other small practices have.
