Mina Libeer (°97; JS Merelbeke; 25° WRL): out (0 own) tegen wellicht één van de meest focused judoka's op dit WK. Wat een druk moet er wel niet liggen op Christa Deguchi (°95; Can; 1° WRL) om niet opnieuw de Spelen te missen ten voordele van haar landgenote Jessica Klimkait (°96; Can; 2° WRL; 3° OG'20 Tokyo). In deze cyclus lijkt Christa mentaal echter een pak sterker dan ooit te voren. Staat ook met een ongelooflijke 9.290p helemaal bovenaan de OG-ranking, vóór .... Jessica (8.150p). Matthias staat overigens 4° op die ranking, Romane Dicko 3° (7.925p).

Mina vecht als altijd sereen voor wat ze waard is, maar tegen de échte top reikt dat dus onvoldoende ver. >> video. Na 43"sec een eerste waarschuwing van Deguchi met o-uchi-gari; na 1'11"min een volle counter met o-soto-gari en ippon. Einde WK.

Een zéér zware kamp voor Deguchi in 1/2-fin tegen Momo Tamaoki (°94; Jpn; 42° WRL; 2°WK'21 en 20 WTour medailles): na 1'41"min staan ze beiden reeds met 2 shido's ! 9"sec later scoort Christa met een te-/ashi-waza combinatie (w-a), maar nadat de klok 2'45"min passeert, moet ze de dominantie van Tamaoki ondergaan; het is gewoon een feit dat de top-judoka's minder makkelijk beslissende shido's tegenkrijgen. Quod erat demonstrandum in deze kamp. >> video. En om het allemaal nog wat interessanter te maken: - Klimkait verliest haar 1/2-fin met een w-a die er nooit één had mogen zijn tegen Mimi Huh (°02; Kor; 6° WRL) [3 video-scheidsrechters op een WK die flippen !! waar zijn we mee bezig !!], - en Deguchi die op shido de finale verliest van Mimi Huh na een slopende kamp van 12'19"min !! Respect voor de beste scheids van de hele IJF die deze finale leidde: Vladimer Nutsubidze (Geo) !! -> IJF-article Klimkait 'Holding my Breath' : shame on you IJF-bobo's, for excluding such judoka's from the most prestigious tournament in the world ! It's a disgrace !!

En voor wat Mina betreft om af te ronden, pech dus met haar loting, maar de Olympische Spelen wenken. Enkel als Gaby woensdag voorbij Scoccimarro en Polleres geraakt, neem zij de plaats van Mina over. Bij verlies tegen alleen Polleres, zijn de resterende WCups ook nog een alternatief... Bij verlies tegen Scoccimarro is het over voor Gaby, en feest ten huize Libeer.

Akatsuki no Yona Stage Play (2016)

The first Yona of the Dawn stage play was curiously not about the beginning of the story nor it was a direct sequel to the events covered in the anime season in 2014-15.

The play covered the Water Tribe Arc, from volumes 14 to 16 of the manga. Reportedely it also featured flashbacks to the early chapters, likely to give some context.

It ran from March 16 to 21, 2016 in Tokyo.

Shohei Ono inspires images of flawlessly executed big throws--uchimatas, THAT slow-mo Hane goshi, and osotogaris. So it is quite a rarity to see him being whipped onto the tatami more than once by none other than the legendary Toshihiko Koga.

(How did a white belt judoka get to spar with a legend again? Did he train at Koga's academy?)

I think this video clip is more inspiring than the championship winning throws that Ono is famous for. This clip gives all whiteys hope.
