Beautiful!!! And much appreciated. As I'm watching the NFL, using the time to write one of my fave Jamie scenes in the JanJamie fic (unfortunately no Jan in it). For context in this fic Jamie never came back after LCA, met Jan, they fell in love and Jan was transferred to Richmond for S3 :) Enjoy!
--
"Some of the lads let me know that we shouldn't hold someone's past against them or look gift horses in the mouth even if they come in the form of very tall dutchmen," Ted stated. Jamie continued to look cautious. "I'm going to be honest with you. We're struggling to score goals this season. Dani is trying his little heart out but the dream of two aces is still evading us. We're going to look in the transfer window but I have been authorised to ask you first," he explained. Jamie just stared for a moment, blinking slowly as the cogs whirled in his head. The kettle clicked and Jamie silently made the drinks, sliding Ted his coffee. "You want me to come back and play for Richmond?" Jamie questioned so quiet that Ted's breathing was nearly louder. "Yes, I think you'd bring something amazing to this team and I wanted to offer you another shot," Ted moulded his face into his most reassuring look. Jamie blinked again, and then started to laugh.

Naviate Zero and the Importance of Sustainability in Building Design
The world of architecture and construction is always on the move, always evolving. But we’ve reached a point where we can’t ignore the elephant in the room: the impact that new building construction on our precious environment.
In response to this pressing concern, Symetri has set out on a mission to reshape how architects and designers approach sustainable building design. Enter Naviate Zero, a brand-new Revit add-on that’s here to make sustainable building design a lot easier.
Imagine having the power to figure out the carbon footprint of different materials, then effortlessly slotting them into your building plans, and even sharing that info with different designers, engineers, and other people on your team. That’s what Naviate Zero brings to the table.
We talked to Jens Kollserud, CEO of Symetri, to learn more.
What was the inspiration behind Naviate Zero?
Jens Kollserud: As a company, Symetri’s purpose is to challenge people to work smarter for a better future. In line with this, we decided our focus between 2021 and 2025 would be on decarbonization. The majority of carbon emissions worldwide arise from the manufacturing and construction industries — the very sectors we’ve served since our inception in 1989.
Our clients design and produce buildings, infrastructure, and products. Recognizing the impact of our clients’ industries on the environment, we felt a responsibility and saw an opportunity to contribute positively. Our goal was to ensure people make informed sustainability decisions. To achieve this, they needed access to data and tools. Historically, decisions in construction and manufacturing were predominantly influenced by price, time, and availability. We wanted to incorporate CO2 impacts into the decision-making process as well.
This brought us to the realization that accessing the right data was crucial. We partnered with a Finnish company, One Click LCA, a leader in this realm with extensive databases of materials from various countries. We envisioned integrating their data with the design tools our clients were using, such as Revit. And that’s how Naviate Zero came to be.
“Informed decisions lead to reduced wastage and a smaller carbon footprint.”
You mentioned the importance of making informed decisions. Could you elaborate on why it’s important to make informed decisions?
Jens: Informed decisions are pivotal for two main reasons: First, it’s financially sensible to buy only the materials you need. Second, informed decisions lead to reduced wastage and a smaller carbon footprint.
Unlike manufacturing, construction often takes place on-site, leading to increased wastage. This means transporting materials to a specific location where they are then assembled, cut, or molded. But this method results in a significant waste of materials; roughly 20 to 30% of all materials end up as waste — which not only has a financial impact but also a considerable environmental cost in terms of carbon emissions.
“Carbon-smart” material selection means that you can choose the material alternatives that have the lowest Co2e impact related to the geographical location of the building site.
Besides making decisions related to materials, it is also important to choose what manufacturer’s material you use since manufacturing process emissions and material logistics also have a big impact.
Ultimately, informed decisions allow for better outcomes. If you’re unaware of the consequences of your choices, you can’t make better decisions.
What is your hope for Naviate Zero as a product?
Jens: Naviate Zero isn’t primarily a commercial venture for us. While there are companies aiming to calculate CO2 emissions and other sustainability metrics, we view them as collaborators in a shared mission rather than competitors.
Our goal with Naviate Zero is broader than just one product: it’s about creating a holistic approach to decarbonization. For example, we also have Naviate Daylight in our portfolio, which helps in energy consumption reduction by optimizing natural light use in buildings. Naviate Zero is just one aspect of our larger mission to help customers work smarter and more sustainably, offering tools to make informed decisions, whether that’s about making smarter material choices, reducing material waste, or optimizing energy usage.
We’re developing a suite of applications within the Naviate portfolio, each addressing different aspects of the construction process. While sustainability is a key focus, there are other areas where we believe Naviate can help customers work smarter.
“If you’re unaware of the consequences of your choices, you can’t make better decisions.”
It seems like the ecosystem around buildings is evolving towards sustainability. Previously, sectors might have operated in silos, but now it appears there’s a convergence. Would you say that’s accurate?
Jens: Absolutely. We’re trying to bridge the gap between product manufacturers, builders, designers, and those involved in infrastructure. While the building is a construction industry endeavor, the building components like doors, windows, and ventilation, as well as the products inside—like toilet seats, chairs, and sofas—belong to manufacturing. All these entities play a part in this ecosystem and impact us.
Our aim is to integrate these sectors; and integrate reliable data for informed decision-making in sustainable design and construction. With upcoming regulations like environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), we’ll have a plethora of information. The challenge is to make that data accessible and intuitive, enabling individuals to make informed decisions without being overwhelmed.
The end goal is to make sustainable choices straightforward and the unsustainable ones clear.

Buildings with Net Zero Carbon Design
Net Zero carbon is important from a business perspective since prestigious building clients and cities demand it. Even if you don't think climate change is a big deal, you still have to cater to consumer demand. National governments, cities, and top long-term real estate investors have all signed the World Green Building Council's Advancing Net zero consultant Commitment, and many more are interested in implementing some of the best practices to uphold their reputations as ethical businesses. Because 39% of all carbon emissions worldwide are related to the building industry, achieving Net Zero carbon is significant from a global standpoint.
Construction life-cycle carbon emissions are primarily sourced from operational energy. However, the use of alternative energy has altered the situation. Decarbonization of the energy grid results in materials' life-cycle impacts becoming the primary source of life-cycle emissions for any building with a lifespan of at least 50 years. The increase in low-carbon energy has been a good thing, but it has also made it more challenging to reduce emissions through energy export. Before the grid to which you export has attained Net zero emissions, you must export enough energy to balance your emissions. Some climatic benefits also result from the use of materials toward the end of their useful lives and, in the case of cementitious materials, from the carbonization of those materials both during and beyond the lifetime of the building. The intricate balancing act of net zero carbon design, which is made more challenging by the changes in multiple Net Zero consultancy techniques, is typically not suited for regular building LCA tools. You can quantify all carbon-emitting and carbon-reducing solutions to meet local Net Zero carbon definitions by using the One Click LCA Net Zero carbon tool.
To meet regional net-zero carbon definitions, quantify all carbon-emitting and carbon-reducing solutions. Analyze the effect of exporting energy on lowering carbon emissions Analyze the effect of biogenic carbon storage stored in buildings or withdrawals in plants on sequestering carbon Calculate the requirement for offsetting once all other options have been tried, among other things.

⌠ AUBREY JOSEPH, 22, CISMALE, HE/HIM ⌡ welcome back to gallagher academy, IZAAK JOHNSON! according to their records, they’re a FIRST year, specializing in LINGUISTICS, CULTURE, & ASSIMILATION (LCA) CLASSES;; and they DID NOT go to a spy prep high school. when i see them walking around in the halls, i usually see a flash of ( a rose among thorns, a kind heart beating beneath an athlete’s jersey, a longing to be better than before ). when it’s the taurus’ birthday on 04/26/1997, they always request their PORK-INFUSED COLLARD GREENS from the school’s chefs. looks like they’re well on their way to graduation.
tldr; soft guy who thinks he’s funny, doesn’t want to be here and likes to make people laugh.    @gallagherintro
TW: DEATH, SUICIDE IMPLICATION
A LITTLE BACKGROUND INFO
to put it frankly this wasn’t his first choice. while his parents were spies, his older brother was the one interested in following their lead. izaak was accepted into a few universities to get a degree in computer science.  his brother was his hero. he was smarter than him, funnier than him, faster than him, but it wasn’t enough for izaak to resent the guy:  he admired it.
unfortunately that admiration came to a halt when his brother passed away a few months after izaak’s graduation. it shattered the entire family. he doesn’t talk about it much, but all of his acceptance letters grew dust on them as he decided to leave school alone for some time while he helped out with the family. izaak, essentially, picked up all of the broken pieces. he never had much time to mourn. on the days where his mom can’t get out of bed, he’d make her breakfast and clean the house. on the nights when his dad was sleeping on the couch because grief caused a strain in his marriage, he would bring him an extra blanket.
it took a few years for izaak to feel better enough to get back to school but by then all of his top schools no longer cared to have him join after his disappearance, which is when his mother brought up Gallagher Academy, throwing in the fact that that’s where Michael was planning on going to as well. so he obliged. not for himself, or even his brother, but for his parents. perhaps if he stepped into the shoes of his older brother, it would fix things.
SO BASICALLY, he’s here reluctantly. he got accepted due to his excellent computer skills, finding it quite easy to adjust to a life of hacking, but he truly doesn’t feel like he belongs.  perhaps a part of him is slightly self-righteous, he just believes he should be at one of the many ivy leagues that wanted him.
HEAD CANONS
 - he’s very soft
- like... doesn’t know how to defend himself. he doesn’t want to either. he believes there’s a million other things to do before violence.
- cries a lot, talks about his brother a lot - not about what happened but he’ll bring him up in conversation, he realized that his brother was such a heavy part of him, he doesn’t know his own identity without him.
- enjoys giving hugs and making people laugh, he has a dark sense of humor but not the horrifically offensive kind. just the “let’s drive off this bridge together” kind.
CONNECTIONS. (will add more later)
exes  exes, exes !
people who knew his brother, his brother went to a spy school!
devil on his shoulder, this person may be the polar opposite of him but for some reason they click.
someone he’s trying to mentor lmao
just a friend group basically.

ABOUT:
Born Cecilia Anastasia Casiraghi, the baby of the Casiraghi family. You know them and you hate them, real asshat parents who value money and prestige over actually being nice to their kids. It's hard not to grow up despising your parents in that setting, though Cecilia would be lying if she said she didn't enjoy the being rich part of it all.  Still, it wasn't worth the pressure and scrutiny she received from her parents.
She grew up in a giant castle in Italy where she liked to pretend she was a princess trapped in the highest tower waiting to be rescued. Cecilia watched her older siblings seem so put together and polished, exactly what their parents wanted them to be, and couldn't help but feel isolated from the rest of her family  ( though her older brother Nico was her fave ) .   The older she got, the longer she waited for things to snap into place, only to be met with disappointment.
She got more rebellious as she got older, which didn't bode well in the Casiraghi household. Her father tried to break her spirit, which in turn only made her angier, causing her to run away when she was sixteen.  She didn't leave so much of a note to her family, but she knew if they wanted to find her, they'd have the resources to do so.  They didn't.
She struggled once moving to London, because a rich girl isn't exactly great at not being rich, but she had been saving up stolen money from her parents for a few months before leaving, so she had enough to find herself a place to live while she worked odd jobs here and there. She wanted to focus on art, her passion, the one thing her family had always told her she was good at  ( though they also said it wasn't practical ) . But, surprise surprise, art is NOT practical, and nobody wanted to buy paintings from an actual nobody.
The story goes that she struggled for about a year before making connections with a local art gallery to hold a week-long exhibit of her work. There she made a few sales on her art, though the most noteworthy one had been selling a self-portrait to a wealthy older man who took a liking to Cecilia and decided to fund her art career, and her lifestyle. From then on she lived the glamorous city life she had been destined for, only realizing recently that art and partying can only get her so far. She had begun to miss the world she had been born into, even if she didn't miss the family that came with it.  So Celia reached out to a few old contacts, and was able to secure herself a spot at Gallagher Academy in the fall. Despite the drama of her parents being arrested for tax evasion and fraud, she found that the name Casiraghi still holds some weight in the spy world.
WARNING: TOP SECRET INFORMATION
The reality of the situation is that even with the money Celia had stolen from her parents, her life was nowhere close to the one she used to live, and being poor kind of got old. Plus she still had this BURNING anger towards her parents, partly for letting her leave so easily.
She had been living on her own for almost a year, and what little money she had left was slowly depleting. She had been one level above rock bottom when a faculty member of Caledonia Institute found her. Though she had no interest in returning to the spy world, they had fed into her ego that her being a part of their team was IMPERATIVE, and in return they would give her back the life she once had, while making her parents suffer.  How could she say no to that?
At only seventeen she was one of the youngest to enroll in Caledonia, and she became a professional spy in the process.  She'd have to sit through two years of training and schooling before getting an active mission, but training at Caledonia -- while strict -- was unlike the harsh treatments she was used to from training with her family. With a new outlook on the spy world, Cecilia began to enjoy it once more, and it helped that she was good at it.
Mr. Stewart of Caledonia had promised her that her parents would pay for their sins, and in the spring he had upheld his end of the bargain.  Her parents were caught and tried for tax evasion and fraud, and she heard through the grapevine that they'll be going to jail for a long time. Though she wasn't sure what this means for her siblings, Celia was just glad karma finally bit them in the ass.
Conveniently after they're arrested, Mr. Stewart gave Cecilia an assignment for the fall :   everyone knows about Cole Conner's Gallagher Academy assignment from last fall, and how he's garnered less-than-stellar results. So she’s been enrolled as an incoming first year, returning to the spy world with a story weaved of her glamorous life in London, ready to pay off her debts to Caledonia without hesitation.
PERSONALITY:
Celia is a total chameleon, able to morph her image and personality when needed in social situations.  It's how she makes herself easily likable and gets people to let her in easily, though her doe eyes certainly don't hurt.  She makes it easy for people to get wrapped up in her storytelling and the lies she spins for the sake of getting on other's good sides. Not only is she good at it, but she gets off on the thrill of it, because it's fun pretending to be someone you're not !   Whatever you want her to be, she can be it.
Underneath the surface, Cecilia is truly a spoiled brat who likes getting her way and winning, and once in a while parts of that haughtiness will break through the cracks of her facade. Caledonia had worked hard to take the rebel out of the girl, but parts of it still appear on occasion, though never against her agency.
Above everything, she's trying not to make waves while in Gallagher, to go by undetected, so the easiest way to describe her would be Nice.  ( This might change while I play her so we’ll see welp. )
TL;DR:  She's Nico's younger sister !  But ran away from her family when she was sixteen because she hates them, and at her lowest point Caledonia Institute swooped in and saved her   ( and also got her parents arrested and made them lose their money whomp whomp )  and now she's a double agent working for them. She’s looking to make friends with everyone who’s anyone at Gallagher. Two-faced bitch but ya gotta love her ?  Or don't, you probably shouldn't.
WANTED CONNECTIONS:
She’s going to be meticulously crafting her own inner circle of friends for her own enjoyment at Gallagher, a mix of people from influential families and those who are deemed “popular” or worth having around, please send headshots and a resume if ur interested xoxo
Family friends of the Casiraghi family, who she hasn’t seen in at least three years.
Other students who trained with her siblings in the super super exclusive training program her parents ran.
Those she's crossed paths with living in London for a year: friends, flings, fellow artists, coworkers at her crappy jobs, etc.
Fellow first years she can glom onto for automatic friendships right off the bat, regardless of who they are
Legacy family students she can cozy up to for the sake of her job
Someone who is reluctant to trust her, despite her attempts to befriend them/get on their good side
Someone with a crush on her that can sorta see how malleable her personality and is like? But show me the real you?
A no-strings relationship that’s purely physical
Someone she’s stringing along for the sake of getting close and getting information out of them
An upperclassman mentor figure to show her the ropes of Gallagher and help her acclimate
A ride or die that she feels a kinship with, where they click enough that she can be more like herself   ( aka a little bitchy )
Someone with a really optimistic/romantic outlook on life that truly tests Cecilia’s efforts to match their enthusiasm
Fellow artists she can spend her free time painting in the gardens with and help her get back into it
Fellow LCA + S&F majors who she’ll either have in her classes or that can give her some class pointers or offer their old notes to her
Someone she got drunk with and maybe let something slip that she shouldn’t have and now it’s awk
Someone weak-willed that she can easily take advantage of/manipulate into doing things for her
Fellow smokers even though I don’t condone the habit!
I have some things on her pinterest page here for inspo, also this tag
Lit rally anything please hmu !

Positively LEX 18: Lexington teen a finalist for Doodle for Google competition LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Doodling is something that has always come natural to 16-year-old Milo Golding. “I used to draw on everything. Even when I visited a relative’s house, they’d have to put paper on the walls just to keep me from damaging the actual walls that I would draw on,” Golding laughed. Now, he has taken those drawings off the walls and is turning them into something inspiring. Milo, a junior at LCA, has just been named the finalist for Kentucky in the Doodle for Google competition. He is one of just 54 finalists in the entire nation, and he said it was the theme this year that inspired him to enter. “This year’s theme was, ‘I am strong because…,'” Golding said. “I put I am strong because I have hope. One of the main reasons for that is I remember having a conversation with my father about how he went through life’s obstacles to become who he was, and he said, ‘Hope. Hope makes me strong.'” Tragically, his father passed away of a heart attack when Milo was just 13, but he said it has been that message of hope his father instilled in him that has motivated him to achieve goals and give back to his community; it’s also the soul of Milo’s doodle. Provided to LEX 18 Golding described his illustration, “The two characters in the middle represent my father comforting me and telling me how important hope is and giving me that hope. One of the most touching aspects of the illustration for me was the lower-case g. It symbolizes me when I was in isolation during a cold time of my life, but the scarf and the mittens on my character were gifts that my father gave me on our last Christmas together, and that really warms me.” His doodle is now in the running to be on Google.com, and it could earn him some serious scholarship money.
