I don’t know how to feel when my friend has only watched season 1 to 3 and s15 e20 of Supernatural - like you saw Dean get dragged to hell and was not interested in to know what happens next but curious enough to know how the show ended so you watched the last episode which he dies on a rebar

I may get shit for this but having rewatched the entirety of Supernatural, I'm just gonna say it:

The finale was not necessary.

Season 15 Episode 19 perfectly summarized the ending of the show and wrapped it up in a nice beautiful pretty bow that would have left fans crying happy tears for years to come. Meanwhile, Episode 20 came in like a bull in a china shop and said fuck you, only for the clean up crew to step in afterward to pick up the pieces and try to make it presentable.

I'm sorry but season 15 episode 19 is my finale. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Misha on the Destiel Heaven Reunion: I’m sure [Cas’] first words were “Hello, Dean” ... the most authentic, loving hug. I could imagine them just, like, grabbing each other and hugging.

Thank you to the people who requested the cameos with “Hello, Dean” and “authentic, loving hug”, and to NorthernSparrow for live tweeting Misha’s panel at DarkLight Con Online 2! I think these cameos I found weren’t Kyalin and gardenercastiel deleted, so here’s misha collins update’s cameos Google Drive folder which I found thanks to ceo of news.

I’m sure a lot of people have said an offscreen “Hello, Dean” from Cas would have been an easy finale fix-it that would have been respectful of COVID-19 restrictions, the CW’s budget, and Misha’s time. Then I remembered that Misha also said Cas and Dean would hug, so this was born. (I love the Supernatural Wiki transcripts; how else is someone who hasn’t watched the show supposed to find an outdoor Cas and Dean hug? Cas’ name is even spelled correctly in the “Alpha and Omega” one!)

New SPN finale coda fic!

Yeahhhh I’m joining the swathe of fix-it fics for the supernatural finale with my coda fic ‘i’m finding it hard to believe we’re in heaven’ - it’s a coda to Carry On, but with my own version of events leading up to Dean’s death, and the reunion we all craved.

It’s basically satsifying my need to see Dean a) express emotions, and b) kiss Cas. Heh.

The everyman

The more I think about it (and I really shouldn’t) the angrier I get that people write Dean’s death up as “well he is no longer under the protection of Chucks plot armour”.

Because that means that basically all of Sam and Deans skills and all of what they’ve learned about how to hunt well (both from lore and in hunter practice) was Chuck. That nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing was out of their own cunning and capabilities.

The whole narrative of the everyman sticking it to the greater powers, the narrative that made us care for the characters in the first place, was false. That no, you’re just dumb puppets dancing to gods pipes, who wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for him. The everyman is to fragile to punch above his weight. This destroys the whole 15 years of the show, even the first few seasons!

Dean dying from such a stupid accident, as if he wasn’t much of a hunter after all. That hurts just so damn much. (And that is even leaving out what he deserves from a mental health and personal growth point of view)

Yknow I hate the showrunners for ending it the way they did. Honestly it could've been the network's influence but look. Say they weren't allowed to have Dean reciprocate or whatever, couldn't give us a happy ending because of homophobia whatever reason. Suppose despite whatever Misha might say, they consider the confession to be platonic and brotherly or whatever. Still, canonically we do know that

a) Dean regards Castiel as his best friend, his brother, his only living family apart from Sam. Dean feels guilty about the deaths of people who get close to him and die, especially found family like Jo, Ellen, etc among others

b) We have seen how distraught Dean has been every time he's lost Cas. Prime examples being-

keeping the trenchcoat after Leviathan!Cas walked into the water

refusing to leave without finding the angel in Purgatory and the trauma after losing him

the way he reacted when April killed Cas

how messed up he was after Lucifer killed Cas and how determined he was to get him back

prioritizing Cas' safety over his own life during the fight scene with Ishim in the Lily Sunder episode

Now tell me 15x20 Dean was the same person? Who was basically like yeah okay we gotta get over it when Sam talked about Cas' sacrifice? Who just kinda half smiled when Bobby mentioned the dude was alive and kicking?

It's true that Dean is not the kind of guy who would sit down and talk about his feelings and emotions. We never expected that to happen. But the Dean we know and love would have never sat on his ass without looking for a way to save his friend. Dean, who always tries to save everyone, a guy who considers family to be so important, who considers saving Cas' life more important than his own?

And once he found out Cas was alive, he wouldn't ask about it? Wouldn't try to contact him? Sure maybe they couldn't get Misha on set because of Covid yet they could get a huge group for the final scene and various extras and an elderly guy and an entire fucking band etc but Dean didn't even seem to give a shit? Didn't even respond, never mind trying to meet him. Fifteen fucking years of building this character who always puts his loved ones before himself, who beats himself up over losing them and his best friend sacrifices his life for him and dude's like imma drive my car for forty years or whatever nbd.

Yknow when a monster would pretend to be someone and the boys would figure out because of some slip up? This is the slip up. I'm sorry, but that wasn't our Dean Winchester.

Descent Into Obsession of Supernatural Newbie

This is a side-blog that should help take care of my new Supernatural obsession. I started binge-watching this show only after E19 of S15 aired, finished it just yesterday, and now I want to do a re-watch. I’ll catalogue my impressions as well as do some random musings posts. It’s fun, knowing what I do now and paying closer attention (because I was in such a greedy rush, I must have missed some good stuff). This is for me first and foremost, but if anyone’s interested, welcome! Some posts will be longer, but most others will just be shortish impressions or SPN-related stuff.

A couple of facts that will be prevalent:

1) Destiel gives me life, and I can’t believe they made it canon after all the queerbaiting.

2) I enjoy SPN as a show, from the first to the last season. I struggled with some seasons a bit, but overall, it’s a highly entertaining and emotional show, even if it has its share of problems. I love it in its entirety.

3) E20 of S15 doesn’t exist, obviously. When writing becomes offensive in its stupidity and laughable in its lack of logic, I cannot take it seriously. It’s clearly not meant to be. If SPN ever comes back, it’s evident that they’ll retcon E20 as a part of Chuck’s narrative, a nightmare, fake happiness induced by someone like Djinn, etc. to go on with the actual story. So, I’m not wasting any time on it, and by the end, I’ll be celebrating the return and happiness of all the characters.

4) I’m a Dean girl, so Dean will receive special attention.

It's because it would expose character development / growth and they couldn't have that if they wanted to sell the bros only ending as satisfying and good

I’m also gutted that they didn’t have a “Road So Far” like they have for every other finale. It’s like they didn’t even want to give CLIPS of Sam and Dean’s found family???
