DRACO X OC FIC

Hello hello! I am a fan fiction lover and writer and am working on my first ever Draco fic. This fic is Draco x Aurora Granger (OC who is Hermione’s sister). It is set a few years after the battle of Hogwarts and involves a fake dating plot.

I’ve never posted a Harry Potter fic before so I thought I’d share the first chapter of my Draco one on here first to see how it does. If you’d like chapter 2 then let me know! I may post it on here and Wattpad.

CHAPTER ONE : UNLIKELY ACQUAINTANCE

A small squeal slipped from Aurora's mouth as the book she just slid into the top shelf of the romance section toppled over and landed on her head. It was typical that a romance novel was one to cause her pain considering her complete lack of experience in that subject. There of course was her small fling with George Weasley when she was 17, as well as her few dates with Justin Finch-Fletchley back in her forth year, though that's all her romantic history summarised. Apart from those short months of her life, the most she had to go off of in the romance department was from either reading novels like the one that had just slightly concussed her or from seeing her sister and close friends fall in love. It was maddening to her that this time next year her sister would be a wife whilst she still was unsure how to approach a man she fancied.

"Uhm, excuse me?" Aurora's chocolate brown eyes snapped to the source of the noise, realising she was just stood scowling at the thick cover of 'Midnights Kiss', a werewolf romance novel which left a bright red mark on her pale forehead. A lady with both black and platinum blonde hair stood with such regality that it made her entire face flush. She automatically felt less than. The woman held a tiny smile, though it seemed more out of politeness then genuine sincerity.

"Sorry, hello. Can I help you at all?" She cleared her throat before speaking and smoothed down her uniform, hoping to seem a little more presentable and less like a crazy person.

"I was wondering where the muggle book section was." The woman glanced along the isles with her warm blue eyes, probably willing to spot where they were herself so she could leave this conversation. Aurora smiled genuinely, happy to help a witch explore the muggle world. As a Muggleborn herself, she found that wizarding literature simply couldn't beat the works of famous muggles like Charles Dickens or William Shakespeare. They were considered classics after all, and no amount of magic could conjure the creative process the greats had when writing.

"Of course, it's right this way." Aurora began walking down the isle, completely forgetting about returning the romance novel to it's appropriate place. The older woman looked towards the book then back to the girl with a furrowed brow, deciding not to bring up her mistake.

"Was you looking for anything in particular?" Aurora asked as she rounded the corner to the back isle, revealing every muggle author from Jane Austen to Stephen King. The woman's eyes glanced along the titles slowly, though Aurora could tell that she was unsure.

"Not particularly to be honest. I was looking to get more of an understanding into the muggle world and how they thought. You see, I come from a very old Pureblood family." Aurora nodded at her words, her brain already working a million miles a minute to think of the correct book to give her.

"Oh really? What family would that be? I'm a Muggleborn myself." She responded whilst slowly walking along the isle, her index finger sliding along the spines.

"Well originally the Black family, though I married into the Malfoy family." Auroras walking paused, though she didn't turn away from the books. How could she have been so oblivious? Of course, this woman was the infamous Narcissa Malfoy.

"Oh I see. I believe I went to school with your son." Aurora squeaked, her mind bringing her back to the many years of torment both her and her sister recieved from the boy who held many prejudices towards her kind. Though as Harry was known as 'the boy who lived', Draco was dubbed as 'the boy with no choice'. Not by all, but Harry revealed to his close knit group what Malfoy had said at the astronomy tower that night. About how he had to carry out Voldemort's wishes or else he himself would be killed. He was just a 16 year old boy trying to be the man of his family. Trying to do the right thing for himself and his mum. Aurora commended him in an odd way, as she would have probably done something similar. And it spoke tremendously on his character that he did not carry out the act, leaving Snape to do it.

"I thought you seemed to be around his age. What's your name dear, perhaps I'll remember Draco mentioning you." Aurora bit back her laughter at the thought of her school bully talking about her at the dinner table, realising it would probably be inappropriate to laugh in her face.

"Mal— Draco and I weren't close during our school years Miss Malfoy. My name is Aurora Granger, though you're probably more familiar with my sisters name, Hermione." The Malfoy boys name felt foreign on her tongue, realising she had never actually called him by it. She wanted to mention how she herself was in Narcissa's home just before the Battle of Hogwarts when her sister, Bellatrix Lestrange branded her for life; she assumed she remembered once she spoke her name, but as a true upperclass woman, she didn't dare speak a word of such unpleasantries. Instead, she put a polite smile on her face and nodded, her hands clasped together.

"Ah of course, the Granger sisters. If I may, I would personally like to apologise for the remarks and actions of my son when you were in school with him. Let's just say he inherited his fathers foul mouth." Narcissa grimaced slightly at the mention of Lucius, a flash of disgust filling her eyes. She pushed it down almost immediately and continued. "Though I would like to think he has matured now. He really is a lovely man once you get to know him." It was obvious how much love Narcissa held for her one and only child. Aurora was almost certain that this love clouded her vision of her son slightly, though she smiled along anyways.

"I'm sure you're right Mrs Malfoy. Would you like me to suggest a few of my favourites?" Aurora changed the subject, gesturing to the muggle books they had been conversing infront of.

This same interaction would occur every Wednesday and Sunday for the next month at exactly 10 in the morning; Narcissa asking for muggle book recommendations to add to her ever growing library in her mansion. She said she was having a muggle section fitted to place all of the ones she especially enjoyed. These little meetings gave her the chance to converse with the younger Granger girl, her opinion of her building with each sentence spoke. Until finally, with a clear enough understanding of Aurora's personality, she set her plan into motion.

"Aurora dear, thank you ever so much for steering me towards 'The Great Gatsby'!" Narcissa gushed as she entered the empty bookshop on Wednesday morning. The Great Gatsby was the first novel she had suggested to the woman, one that she herself loved. She believed it could speak quite loudly to Narcissa herself, coming from fortune. And it seems her judgement was correct.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it Mrs Malfoy. It is one of my personal favourites." Aurora crossed her ankles whilst sat on the stool behind the cashier, placing her round glasses on top of her head and moving her paperwork to one side so that she could put all of her attention onto Narcissa. The older woman paced up to the counter, a twinkle in her blue eyes. She placed both hands onto the wooden top of the till, the light bouncing off of her large and clearly expensive ring. She held a faint tan line of her left ring finger from a ring that was once there and had now been removed. Aurora took her eyes away from it, feeling like it would be too rude to bring attention to.

"I have a wonderful idea! We should have tea at my home and discuss the book! Oh how lovely would that be?" Her electric blue eyes bore into Aurora's chocolate brown ones, almost as if she was looking straight into her soul. She was completely taken back by the offer, though by the tone Mrs Malfoy used, it was more of a command then an offer.

"Oh I wouldn't want to impose Mrs Malfoy—" Before she could finish coming up with an excuse to why she couldn't attend, Narcissa had cut her off.

"Nonsense! I will have the elves prepare tea and a selection of food. It'll be absolutely lovely to have a chat about it in a more intimate setting. Yes, what a wonderful idea! I must be off, but why don't you bring your next suggestion with you tomorrow rather then rushing about to seek one out today. Just add it to my tab." Narcissa smiled proudly to herself before plucking the quill from beside Aurora and dipping it in her ink pot. She elegantly wrote down her address as well as a date and time on a spare piece of parchment in neat cursive writing.

"Good day Miss Granger, I do so look forward to seeing you." Without giving her a chance to protest, Mrs Malfoy had left the shop, a little ding of the bell above the door signalling her exit. Aurora was left alone once more, though she couldn't now focus on her paperwork as sheer confusion consumed her mind. How on Earth has she been forced into a tea party with Narcissa Malfoy?

Summary: Working and single parenting is not easy. Andy needs to find a nanny for his son Jacob. Annie, an education degree student at Lasell University, comes to their lives just in time for the big changes in Andy’s life.

Annie walked into the house a little past 4 p.m. after a girls’ day out with Sharon. She left the house around noon and let her boys by themselves. The house was in complete silence, the dining table was a complete mess, water colors and paper sheets scattered over it, dirty plates in the sink. She then walked to the living room that looked like a warzone, not better than the dining room. Andy was sleeping with Jake on his chest, paint and stickers all over their faces and clothes and messy hair. Annie just shook her head and smiled, she took Jake in her arms and took him to his room. She went back to the living room and touched Andy’s cheek with the back of her hand.

“Baby,” Andy hummed, “I’m home. Did you have fun?” Andy hummed again and she giggled. Annie leaned in and give him a small kiss “Great job, daddy.” Andy turned to his side and started snoring while Annie left the room to let him rest a bit more before waking him up to clean up their mess.

Saturday, August 20th, Jake’s birthday was finally here. Annie totally convinced Jake to have a Harry Potter team party and asked every guess to dress as one of the characters except the main character because of course Jake had to be dressed as Harry Potter.  It has been two weeks since Andy talked to Lynn and they agreed on letting Andy have the afternoons free to spend more time with Jake. They have seen progress, Jake’s nightmares were ceasing, and when he had them were not about the monster. The dynamic was definitely changing, Annie took care of Jake in the mornings so Andy could spend the whole afternoon with him, she would tag alone if Jake insisted but in the most part it was just the two of them. The bond Jake and Andy were creating was evident, Annie couldn’t be happier to see how Jake was enjoying the company of his dad. They played ball in the back yard, Andy read stories to him before bed, they went out by themselves, and Andy sometimes even share and explain his work to Jake, so he could understand what he did and why his job was important in helping people.

It was around noon when Annie was setting the tables ready in the back yard. His brother and sister in law had already arrived, baby Denisse dressed as dobby was the cutest thing ever with a little sock sewed to her costume.

“Andy?!” Annie called him, from the beginning of the stairs. “Our friends are here. Come on!” no response, she smiled “Be right back.”

Anthony and his wife were dress as some Gryffindor students, while Sharon and Seb of course were dressed as Bellatrix and a death eater. These two have been dating since they met at Alessandro’s, and to be honest they were perfect for each other. Mark and his boyfriend opted to be Neville and Draco.

Annie walked to their room, Andy was hidden in the bathroom and she knocked at the door.

“Come on big guy.”

“I look stupid!”

“I’m sure you don’t, come on, let me see you.”

“No! I’m not coming out!”

“Oh please! It’s Jake’s birthday! He is going to be sad if you don’t come down.”

“Why didn’t you rent a Dumbledore costume?!”Andy opened the door and came out, the beard was absolutely ridiculous, it looked like a dead animal, and she couldn’t help but laughed.

“Ok! I’m not coming down!” But Annie grabbed him by the arm.

“No, I’m sorry, is just that beard is too much! But you don’t look bad. Although the clothes are a bit loose on you.”

“Of course they are! We are talking about a giant!”

“Ok, Hagrid is not a full giant.” Annie looked for the bag were the costume was. “I thought this included a belly.”

“It does, but I don’t like it.” Andy walked in the bathroom and came out holding some kind of rounded pillow.

“Ok, let’s put it on, I wanna see.” Annie put the fake belly between Andy’s pants and his shirt. “Hmmm, looks good to me, sexy chubby man.” She hugged him and winked at him, “Next Christmas you’re gonna be Santa, can’t wait to sit on your lap daddy.”

“I look fucking ridiculous.”

“Tell you what. If you come out like this and use the costume the whole party, I’ll let you put it anywhere.”

“Anywhere?” Andy lifted his eyebrow.

“Yes, baby. Anywhere, and you know I am a woman of my word.”

“Alright! Let’s do this!” Andy walked out of the room and down the stairs. It was impossible for every adult to hold their laugh. “Yeah, ha-ha, very funny.”

“You look ridiculous man.” Anthony said while laughing.

“I hope you don’t look like that when you get older.” Seb commented.

“Shut up both of you, he looks adorable!”

“I don’t like adorable, honey.”

“Ok, how about fucking sexy?”

“My god! Now you shut up, I don’t want to hear my little sister talking like that to some Harry Potter character, is gross.”

“Fine, I’m going to help Jake with his costume, you can go to the back, and beers are on the fridge.”

Five minutes later, Jake and Annie walked out to the back yard, Some of Jake’s friends were already there, including his neighbor Luis. Jake was so excited to see his dad dressed as Hagrid, and Andy, once he saw his son’s reaction, knew every prank Anthony and Seb did today will be worth it. The magician came around 3 p.m. and all the kids were ecstatic when he did the tricks, he even put Jake to help him in one of his acts. Around 6, some of the kids and their moms started to leave, but the rest of their friends remain in the yard, drinking and hanging out.

“Can I take off my costume now, honey?”

“Sure, baby. My promise stands still.” She winked at him and he ran to his room to change into a t-shirt and sweets. He was coming out the bathroom when his phone dinged. A text of an unknown number.

“Hi, Andy. Long time without talking.”

“Who is this?”

“Oh, that’s right! I changed my number. How about if you call me and see who am I, after all it’s been 3 years since you last saw me. It will be nice to catch up.”

Andy’s blood froze. When he read those last words he knew exactly who this person was. He dial the number and she immediately answered.

“Hello, my love.”

“Don’t call me that!” The nickname she used to call him stunk deep. “The fuck you want Laurie?”

“Ouch! So rude!”

“Fuck you! You left three years ago! You left your own son alone! How do you want me to treat you?! He was one! What kind of mother does that?! Never mind, don’t say anything! I already know the answer.”

“Come out, and let’s talk.”

Andy walked to the window and saw her standing right across the street and she waved her hand.

“How do you know where I live?”

“Come down and I’ll tell you.”

“No, get the fuck back to New York. You won’t ruin Jake’s birthday.”

“Such a special day to come back and see my son. I am an excellent birthday present.”

“No, you’re not! And he is no longer your son, he is mine. You send me that letter resigning to your parent’s rights remember?! Leave my family alone Laurie, I’m warning you.”

“Family? Andy you don’t have a family. You wanted to play the big happy family with me when I was fucking miserable! But you were too fucking busy trying to impress your boss to notice! Who else do you got? Your mother is dead and your dad is in jail.” Andy’s breath hitched “What? You thought I didn’t know? I found out about your dad before I left you. Poor little Andy is all alone.”

“I’m not alone, I have friends, I have Jake and I have...”

“Who? The nanny? So plain, certainly not better than me. Thought you had better taste.”

“Don’t you dare to talk about her! She is more of a mother than you ever were to Jake!”

“Yeah, whatever. But tell me, does your precious little nanny know about your dad? Does Jake know he has a grandfather?”

“If he doesn’t know about your existence, trust me he doesn’t know about my so called father.”

“Oh but I could tell him! Families don’t have secrets Andy, and you have been hiding so much shit just for everyone to think you are not fucked up.”

“What do you want?”

“I want my son back, and either we can do this the easy way or the hard way, you choose.” And she hang off the phone. Andy looked back again outside the window the phone still against his ear and saw her living in a white Audi.

“Baby! Why are you taking so long?”

“What?” Andy turned to see Annie.

“Oh, you’re on the phone, I’m sorry.”

“No, I just finish.” He put the phone in the pocket of his sweats.

“Great! Guess what? Sam’s mom told me Jake’s school is looking for a teacher assistant, I have to go there next Monday and give a sample class.”

“That’s amazing honey, I’m sure you’ll do great.” Andy turned to see once more to the window and made sure Laurie was no longer there.

“Wanna come with me? Our friends still down stairs, we are planning to play charades.”

“What?”

“Are you ok?”

“Yeah…”

“You sure? You look pale. Who were you talking to?”

“Ammm Lynn, it was Lynn, she was telling me about this case I have to take care of next Monday.”

“Oh! Is it bad? You seem disturbed.”

“It’s fucking messed up.”

“I’m sorry baby,” She went to hug him and give him a kiss, “I’m sure you’ll do great.” Andy still seemed off, “Do you want me to tell everyone to leave? It can be just us, watch a movie, or we can play charades with Jake. And later I can help you relax, remember my offer.”

“I’m not in the mood honey. Not tonight.” He took a deep breath, “Let’s go play” He gave her a tight smile and walked towards the door.

“Andy,” she reached for his arm, “You know you can talk to me about anything right?”

“Yes, I know honey. Just a though case, nothing to worry about, ok?”

She nodded and walked together to meet their friends. The game of charades making Andy forget for a while Laurie’s call, but knowing very well she was not going to leave town that easily.

Episode 3: “Guel’s Pride”

The fact that Suletta has a wish list of things she wants to do at school is adorable. That said, the one about eating on the roof has me convinced that her idea of what school is like comes from anime or other fiction, and unfortunately not the kind this show is.

It’s funny, Suletta wants to date, but she also doesn’t want to cheat on her future wife. She is such a good girl, but someone has to explain to her that monogamy is overrated, even more so when we’re talking about arranged marriages.

Meanwhile, Miorine hears Suletta wants to date and comes to the conclusion she is “sex-crazed”. I mean, they are teenagers, but my impression is that Suletta is more of a hopeless romantic (like me). Plus given how shy and awkward she is, it’d probably take her a few dates before she builds up the courage for a kiss on the cheek.

Despite having heard the term a lot when she was little, Suletta no longer seems to know what a Gundam is. I’m assuming her mother made her avoid using the term in favour of referring to Aerial exclusively by her name until she eventually just forgot.

There’s something funny about how relieved Suletta felt when she heard Guel will be her duelling opponent even as she is cowering from him behind Nika. She keeps bringing up his loss in the most matter-of-fact way that she clearly doesn’t mean him any disrespect. Yet for his bruised ego, it still feels to him like she is mocking him.

Shaddiq should be an interesting one to watch. He seems well informed, the type to do his due diligence, so we’ll see how he goes about investigating Suletta. Since the girl doesn’t have any friends or contacts besides Miorine, he’ll probably end up approaching her directly sooner or later, like a certain someone else has.

But seriously, Suletta needs to slow down a bit. Miorine has only just accepted her into her personal space but she’s still a very closed off and anti-social individual. She’ll be worn down eventually, but it’s going to take some time.

I like how Miorine immediately stops what she is doing when Elan approaches her fiancée. Girl can’t hide her jealousy. For the record, I don’t think she is necessarily romantically interested, yet, but I can see her wanting to keep Suletta to herself, or even protect her from those who might take advantage of her, even if she won’t admit it.

Interesting that Suletta restates she wants Guel to apologise to Miorine, but Guel merely says his stake is the “same as last time”. For whatever reason, he chooses not to say it out loud even as everyone else knows what he means.

Suletta is so uncompromising on her beliefs she thinks nothing of defending Guel from mockery. It’s one of the things I am growing to love about her that she wishes the same treatment for everybody, even someone that intimidates her so much her immediate reaction upon seeing him is to hide behind the nearest object or person.

It makes me uneasy, the idea that Suletta’s life goal is to be like her mother. The person she thinks her mother is is her hero, so I can’t imagine what it would do to her if she ever found out that her mother is lying to and manipulating her.

Miorine was apparently so jealous that Elan became one of Suletta’s contacts that she chose to add herself as well. I mean, she could have asked but when the girl wants something she makes it happen, probably because from her experience that was the only way to get what she wanted. Hopefully that’s something she’ll figure out later, that she can ask Suletta something and not expect immediate rejection.

At this point, I’m not surprised by how much the match was rigged in Guel’s favour or how the Duelling Club just accepts it as fair play. That said, Elan still seemed convinced that as a “witch,” Suletta would still manage to win.

The other thing I find interesting though is that Guel seemed naive enough to write off the fire suppression system going off as luck. Even more interesting that he can accept being a mere passenger in his own mech but not his family actively interfering in his duel.

Speaking of interference, it’s good for Miorine that she actually does get to contribute this time around. It makes it feel like it was as much her win as it was Suletta and Aerial’s.

Respect to Guel though, for taking control at the end. He honestly did pretty well there. Despite his loss, he earned Suletta’s respect (for his skills at least) and more confidence in himself. And even though he still lost, it was his loss. If he left things to continue as they were, he’d wonder if he lost because he gave up too much control rather than trust in his own skills.

It’s nice to hear Miorine laugh. Also, for like the second time this episode, Suletta tries to rush things and have to be reminded that this relationship is a slowburn. She has a long way to go before she earns the right to use a nickname. That said, the nickname is hilarious and I will now be using Mio-Mio especially when I talk about how relationship with Suletta.

As for that last bit, I don’t even know what to say other than I knew exactly what the reaction would be.

lgbt BOOKS i read this year ranked by how cool the lgbt plot was

1. this is how you lose the time war unlike anything i’ve read before. i didn’t know a blend of poetry, romance and science fiction was possible but i was completely mesmerized by it! it’s really an Experience

2. aristotle and dante dive into the waters of the world of course it was amazing. of course. what are you waiting for? read it 🗡️

3. one last stop really liked it. it’s better when you go in not knowing much so i’ll just say that it has the most relatable single bisexual early-20s main character (&all the characters are great), it’s set in new york and really makes it feel like home, and the plot will surprise you

4. first kill it’s just a short story but damn it’s everything i knew i needed. they’re making a tv show out of it and im already a fan. vampire x vampire hunter, but with girls?? come on 💕💕💕

5. on a sunbeam i am once again recommending tillie walden’s graphic novel to literally everyone. science fiction, beautiful art, fish spaceships, mysteries and secrets, lots of lesbians, no men, and one nb character who uses they/them

6. the seven husbands of evelyn hugo it’s actually really good! i couldn’t put it down (despite the length). dramatic but i love stories that span a lifetime; evelyn is very badass and relatable

7. kissing the witch: old tales in new skins feminist retelling of fairytales (like cinderella, snow white, etc). i loved it! the atmosphere was dreamy and grave at the same time, with a focus on witch characters and women’s empowerment. the medium of tales always makes for very meaningful stories and it was done perfectly here

8. she drives me crazy if you’re looking for a simple romcom with a bit of drama (but well written) this one is great! esp. for fake dating and enemies to lovers fans

9. written in the stars yeah well i am not immune to modern pride and prejudice retellings. if you’re into romantic comedies, astrology, and fake dating, you will like this one

10. crier’s war & iron heart interesting concept! it was well written and there’s a lot of potential here, even if some parts of the narrative felt a little too mechanical for me i still enjoyed it a lot

11. king of scars/rule of wolves nina zenik making all of fjerda open-minded one enemies to lovers romance at a time!! however it’s not the only plot, it’s more like a random subplot of nikolai and zoya’s story, so you can’t just read it for nina

12. the invisible life of addie larue i was pleasantly surprised when it was revealed that both mcs were bisexual. they both get the bare minimum of one ex of the same gender, and then have their m/f romance. the story was interesting though, urban fantasy deal with the devil type

13. the dark wife retelling of the myth of persephone but here hades is a woman. nice reimagination of the myth. the narration was a bit hard to follow though, maybe because the tone and style were unusual for me

14. history is all you left me i only read that one because the girl i like was obsessed with it, and i am obsessed with her. it’s super sad and basically deals with grieving your ex boyfriend who you still have feelings for, and then there’s some additional drama. not my favorite but not that bad i guess?

15. in the vanisher’s palace i liked the concept and what it tried to do but it just wasn’t long enough to make the story work. imo it needed more worldbuilding and a bigger focus on the relationships, esp. between the mc and her love interest

Anyway, Peter Parker is Bi, and I Won’t Be Convinced Otherwise.

Firstly, we have to get our bases covered. What exactly is Bi-sexuality? What is sexuality? 

Sexuality is defined as a persons identity in relation to gender(s) they are attracted to. Why is this important? Peter’s sexuality has never been specifically stated in the comics, nor in any other form of media. It’s assumed that he is straight because of his popular relationship with Mary Jane Watson in the comics, and the movies. 

Now that we have a bases for what exactly sexuality is and how it’s defined, let’s go over Peter’s partners. 

Obviously Peter and Mary Jane are a piece of comic book history. They eventually get married, though sadly, during the events of Civil War II (I think, don’t quote me) Peter and Mary Jane sell their marriage to Mephisto in order to save Aunt May

They later had their memories of their marriage restored, they have yet to get back together and it’s been a few issues if I remember correctly. Next we have Peter’s first, and most unfortunate love, Gwen Stacy. 

They dated in high school where she later died. Of course, Peter has dated other people (namely, Black Cat, Betty Brant, Carol Danvers, Anna Maria, Cindy Moon, Lian Tang, and so on). Since we have his known history of heterosexuality out there, we need to move onto another important part of Peter’s Bi-sexuality. An important implication in any media, especially queer media though, and that is the homoerotic subtext. 

Homoerotic subtext is important part of queer culture, a lot of the time it’s used to portray a characters queerness without saying it out (see: Dorian Gray by Oscar Wild or Great Gatsby By Fitz). In current decade, homoerotic subtext is often used for queer baiting or creating more realistic male friendships. 

So what’s the difference between someone creating a health male friendship (or a character comfortable in their heterosexuality) and implying a character is queer? 

Here are some examples of a healthy male character, both with himself and his friendships.  

Clearly he’s just taking the shit, and messing around with Reed. He’s comfortable enough (or as I like to see it, so traumatized because good god this guy has been Spider-Man since he was 15 good god that’s awful. He probably doesn’t care anymore). Here are some examples of Peter a little more than just a straight man shooting the shit. 

This has three meanings. Two of which I will take, one of which is just deeply embarrassing. Despite Peter’s history with humiliating events, I don’t think he would get his own spunk in his eyes. Leaving the other two options, he has experience getting spunk of - some kind - in his eyes, and/or he’s taking the shit again. Which is very likely. 

Kissing a cop? For....no reason? A little not so hetero of you Peter. 

You can practically hear his disappointment in his voice. Also could be read as taking the shit, but why would you. 

Making out with The Thing? Gay. 

This one is the most important. Peter is clearly tired, annoyed by his teammates (see wolverine being wolverine in the corner). Shits on fire, its mid battle, and Peter has the audacity to mutter “I hate men” to himself. The only people I have every heard say this in that was are lgbt and straight women, and lgbt men. This kind of expression only comes from people who date, or deal with men in a completely different world than straight men. Straight men use this phrase as an endearment, “Oh have you seen Bill today, I hate that guy.” “Man Jerry can do so many push-ups, I hate that guy.” Very different language, and implications (I also, obviously don’t know how straight men speak). 

 Now that we’ve gone over our bases, and homoerotic subtext. How else could we gather that Peter Parker is Bi? There are many tropes in media - queer media - that allure to a characters queerness. Like homoerotic subtext, there are ways to tell an audience something without specifically saying it. 

This is a gay wedding Peter went to in the recent comics. I don’t know if any of you have been to a gay wedding recently, but Peters face (the first panel above the wedding) is the same exact face I made at my first gay wedding. It’s the face of excitement for not only the couple, but for yourself. The hope that maybe, you too can actually be in a same-sex relationship. 

I’m also going to allure to queer tropes as stated previously. Such as the real, and fictional trope of lgbt people sticking together. Thousands of years of belittlement and oppression will make groups of people not want to wonder out, and subconsciously look for others like them. 

Johnny Storm (and Wade Wilson since he comes in later but I couldn’t find a picture of the confirmation) is cannon Bi-sexual (Pan-sexual). 

Their friendship is deeply homoerotic as most queer friendships in media and real life are. Johnny flirts with Peter on many occasions (saying his ideal women is a female version of Peter, inviting him over to watch is sex tape, and so on) and of course oh my god they were roommates. 

Some other popular queer tropes are: Found Family, Soulmates, and Enemies to lovers. Because it’s superhero related, this includes the Identity Porn tag as well.  

Peter Parker and Wade Wilson have a famous Love/Hate relationship. I mean, how could you expect anything less when your first meeting with this known mercenary is him throwing your civilian persona out the window of a car. Now, Wade still doesn’t know Peter is Spider-Man in the current run of comics, but that doesn’t make anything about them any less gay. 

For the Found Family Trope: 

Because it’s Peter and Wade, their whole development can be read as Enemies to Friends to Lovers, so I wont bother backing that up because, uh, it speaks for itself. One panel really does to add that cause though 

I’m not going to explain what a free-pass list is.

The Soulmates part I know I have to back up. 

For SoulMates:  

Now this panel requires a little explanation. Wade kills Peter, not knowing he’s Spider-Man. Weasel takes over for Peter (they don’t know its him) so no one suspects he’s dead. Deadpool begins to feel guilty he killed his best buds best bud, so he tries to bring Peter back to life. Losing his stunning good looks (switching back to how he looked before Weapon X making his wife Shiklah estranged (then she married Dracula but thats beside the point)). Spider-Man is Peter’s “true self” or patronus for Harry Potter fans. Wade is stupid and hasn’t connected the dots yet, effectively making him the biggest simp in history. Seriously, who destroys their marriage for the c h a n c e for getting some with their idol? A Simp, that’s who.

Peter forgives Wade for killing him (and for saving him from killing their genetic daughter itsy-bitsy). If someone killed me they better be hot as fuck before I even thing about forgiving them. Ignoring Peter’s super sexy forgiving nature, uh, he’s kinda simping. 

Died in each others arms. Nothing else is needed. 

They’re heartmates. From what I read, the feeling has to be mutual in order for it to work. The witches (long story, comics are hard to explain) that captured deadpool were expecting his wife so they could get the headmistress back. Instead, they got Peter. Basically Heartmates = soulmates but chosen for you instead of chosen by you.

INTERVIEW: The Sunday Post


It comes as no surprise to Alex Kingston that her daughter has decided to follow in her footsteps, despite her best efforts to temper her acting ambitions.

The actress fell pregnant with Salome, now 19, when she was playing surgeon Elizabeth Corday on the long-running US medical drama ER in the ’90s.

Alex’s pregnancy was written into the script and Salome, whose father is German writer Florian Haertel, was just weeks old when she joined the cast as Elizabeth and Dr Mark Greene’s baby girl.

Now, two decades on, mother and daughter are working together again, this time in a Doctor Who spin-off audio drama, The Diary Of River Song. Now in its eighth series, it focuses on the Time Lord’s brilliant wife, the poetically named River Song, whom Alex has played on the TV show since 2008. Salome, meanwhile, plays the part of her synthetic humanoid companion, Rachel.

Alex said: “My daughter was in my belly on ER then played the role of our baby girl Ella Greene. She’s secretly always had the desire to act, but I was always adamant that she finished her education first.

“Salome plays a character who River Song meets up with occasionally and they have adventures together. Working with my daughter has been terrific fun. I am super-impressed with her. She is incredibly professional.”

For the past year Alex and Salome have been isolating together at her London home, alongside Alex’s third husband, television producer Jonathan Stamp. The pair married in an intimate Italian ceremony in 2015, and Salome was a bridesmaid.

They are joined by Alex’s German-born mother, Margarethe, who sadly suffers from dementia. It sounds like a potentially stressful set-up but Alex has cherished the unexpected extra family time lockdown gifted her.

Alex, who celebrated her 57th birthday a few days after the first lockdown was announced last March, said: “My daughter had arrived from New York and decided she wanted to live with us. Then my mother, who has dementia, suffered two strokes early on in lockdown and she moved in as well. So I was her carer.

“It was an amazingly special time. And I cherish it. Particularly with my mother, because I wouldn’t have had that opportunity otherwise.”

Like the rest of us, Alex has relied heavily on streaming services to keep her entertained during the long days spent at home. She even broke her self-imposed rule of not watching her own stuff on screen.

She said: “We did all the usual things, massive clear-outs, and of course binge-watched TV. I loved Schitt’s Creek, Call My Agent, Bridgerton and Luther. I can’t bear to watch myself on the television. However, I started watching ER, because it was streaming on Channel 4. I look at myself and it’s like I am watching someone else. It’s such a good show, and it’s really held up!”

She added: “As much as everyone is saying this is the year that they want to forget, I actually feel it’s a year one can never forget. It certainly wasn’t an easy time. However, I have much stronger memories of the year, and of the patterns of the year than I have ever had pre-pandemic, when there was always so much rushing around.”

Alex began her career at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where she met her first husband, Skyfall actor Ralph Fiennes. They were together for 10 years before marrying in 1993. Two years later, Alex was left bereft when Fiennes left her after an alleged affair with a co-star. The London-born actress has barely stopped working since she first appeared on UK screens in 1980, as Jill Harcourt on the iconic children’s series Grange Hill. She continued to find success in UK dramas including Upstairs Downstairs, and The Fortunes And Misfortunes of Moll Flanders.

She first appeared in the fourth series of Doctor Who alongside David Tennant in 2008. Alex thought it was a one-off but has reprised the role in 15 episodes between 2008 and 2015.

It’s thanks to her Doctor Who appearances and, more recently, Sky’s hit supernatural drama, A Discovery Of Witches, that she has become known to a new generation of fans.

During her long and successful career, Alex has never been afraid to call out sexism in the industry. When she was dropped from ER aged 41, after seven seasons, she accused producers of ageism. saying “Apparently, I, according to the producers and the writers, am part of the old fogies who are no longer interesting.”

Then, when she auditioned for the role of Lynette Scavo on Desperate Housewives which eventually went to Felicity Huffman, she says she was turned away for being too curvy.

Although vocal about the challenges that face women, she admits she has seen positive changes in attitudes towards female talent in recent years.

She says: “When I was working on ER, I thought that I wasn’t allowed to get pregnant, I didn’t want to offend the producers as that is not what they had intended. I thought that I would have to ask permission. It was Anthony Edwards, who played my on-screen husband, who said ‘Don’t be ridiculous, don’t wait for them to allow you, you are not that important. If you want to have a child, go and have a child, and they will find a way to work round you.’ So I took his advice.

“I grew up with this notion that one had to be polite and always ask for permission. Whereas this generation don’t. They just get up and do it. The lovely and talented Teresa Palmer, whom I work with on A Discovery of Witches, is constantly popping out babies. Production just work around her. And it’s great, I admire her very much for that.”

Alex in ER

Alex puts her staying power down to being in the right place at the right time – and being nice to people, though she says theatre will provide her with a safety net should the TV work dry up one day.

She said: “Being as versatile as possible helps. I’m up for anything as long it is written well.

“I had a formal training. My first love is theatre. Having that as a backbone will always support me. In an industry that will favour youth more, theatre is always there. In order to succeed on the stage you have to have had good solid training and know how to handle your voice.

“Also, being a nice person counts for a lot. If you were difficult you would get a reputation. Of course there are actors who are extremely difficult and tiresome to work with, and there will come a point at which you think is it worth it? I don’t want to be one of those people.”

Despite her time-travelling credentials Alex has no idea what the future holds but still harbours a dream of being a Bond Girl (though obviously not one who falls for the smooth-talking spy).

She laughs: “I would love to be a villain in a James Bond movie, the real villain, the main one. Because they’ve never had a female villain. And I want to be a villain who does not find James Bond sexy at all. And doesn’t succumb to his charms, I want to be his real nemesis.”

Time for a return to Tardis?

From ER to the Tardis, Alex’s career to date has been distinguished by roles opposite fictional doctors, whether medical or time-travelling.

The smash-hit hospital drama which made her a star in the ’90s famously launched the Hollywood career of a certain George Clooney. Then in 2008, Alex won a new generation of fans as the wife of Doctor Who.

Because the Doctor transmutates over time Alex, as River Song, gets several leading men for the price of one. Alex said: “Essentially my character is the same, so there’s continuity there, and the fun is interacting with someone who is essentially the same man, but in a different skin and with a different energy.”

Perhaps the least lucky man in the role was Matt Smith.

Alex explained: “One of the most memorable parts of filming was when I flew through the universe, got caught in the Tardis and kneed Matt Smith, who was playing the Doctor at the time, in a sore place by mistake. There were a few tears of laughter from me and cries of pain from him.”

Speculation is rife among fans that Alex will return to the Whoniverse, if the incumbent Time Lord Jodie Whittaker steps down. All Alex will say is: “My Tardis door is always open…” [x]

My Movie Reviews of the Day:

•Nanook of the North (1922)

Directed By: Robert J. Flaherty

Plot Summary: film-maker Robert J. Flaherty spends one year documenting the lives of Nanook and his family, who are Inuits living in the Arctic Circle.

Where to Watch: HBO Max

This is actually a documentary made in the era of silent films. This is a beautiful but heartwrenching film that everyone should watch. It follows the daily lives of Nanook and his family as they go through the motions of surviving in the Arctic Circle. You see them hunting seals, trading meat for fur, and even making an igloo. It is an incredible thing to witness, seeing what this group of people have to do in order to survive. It really makes you think about what you have and how grateful you should be to have it. One of the most beautiful aspects about this documentary is how in situations that would make any one of us miserable, Nanook has the biggest smile and takes everything in stride. You can feel the love he has for his family through the screen. This documentary is definitely a must-see.

•Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens [translated to Nosferatu, a Symphony of Terror (1922)

Plot Summary: vampire Count Orlock seeks out real estate agent Thomas Hutter, who soon finds out that the Count has set sights on his wife.

Every single human being on planet Earth MUST MUST MUST see this film. Even if you are not a horror movie fan, watch this anyway. Do not let the fact that this is considered a horror movie scare you. This film is not horror in the way we think of it now. Nowadays, people might associate horror movies with ghosts, endless jumpscares, or people getting their insides cut out by a guy with a machete, but "Nosferatu" is very different, refreshingly so. It deals with terror in a very real sense; the terror of disease, of someone who is more creature than man. This film is also a must-see for those who are suckers for vampire movies (every pun intended). "Nosferatu" is the truest vampire film in existence, having been made before the endless vampire cliches came about. Count Orlock is truly frightening. He does not sparkle, he is not devastatingly handsome, and he isn't charming. He is creepy. This film is utter perfection. Truly magnificent. WATCH IT.

•Häxan [has also been called Häxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages] (1923)

Plot Summary: fictionalized documentary detailing the evolution of witchcraft, from its Pagan roots to its confusion with hysteria in Eastern Europe.

This is a very, very intriguing film, both in the way it was filmed and the subject matter itself. It is a hybrid of a documentary and a traditional fictionalized film. My absolute favorite thing about this film, however, is how it hooks you in towards the end and makes you think. As you are watching this movie, it seems to be a fairly straightforward and interesting representation of how the idea of witchcraft and how those accused of being witches were treated throughout the ages. Then, the end of the film brings us back to modern times, which was the 1920s at the time of the release date, and the director poses a thought-provoking revelation. He presents the idea that those who were accused of practicing witchcraft were actually people suffering from mental illness, and because mental illness was not understood in the early days, sticking the "witch" label on someone was the easy thing to do. I agree with what the director is saying. But, here is the kicker (and my favorite idea the director presents). He says that the way psychiatric patients are treated in modern times is really not that different than how those labeled as witches were treated back in the early days. I agree with this wholeheartedly. Of course, mental illness and how people treat those with mental illness is leaps and bounds ahead of how it was treated in the 1920s, but there is still a stigma surrounding it, much like the stigma that surrounded those accused of practicing witchcraft. It is easier to just pass someone off as crazy rather than try to understand mental illness, which is a scary idea to some people. It can seem scary because there isn't one, tangible reason for why someone has a mental illness, such as anxiety or OCD. It is not like when you have some kind of physical ailment, where there is usually one logical and easily seen reason for it. Anyhow, I definitely think that people should give this film a try.

•Foolish Wives (1923)

Directed By: Erich von Stroheim

Plot Summary: a conman parading around as Russian nobility attempts to seduce the wife of an American diplomat.

This film is a classic in the way that it portrays one of the most common movie tropes; a devious man seeks out to seduce a dissatisfied housewife in the hope of obtaining ill-gotten gains. The conman that the film centers on is truly despicable, not only victimizing the housewife, but also his own maid and the very young, mentally-ill daughter of his partner-in-crime. You watch the entire movie in the hopes that he will finally be brought to justice. This movie is truly a classic.

Okay, listen up, I got some Milan facts 🙈

every once in a while I feel like talking about a background character that is hardly even important for the plot. This time my victim is Aiden’s dad

his family is one of the oldest in town so they have a high reputation there

they’re pretty much hunters ever since generation one, the father always passing his knowledge to his eldest son

so naturally Milan learned hunting from his dad

he was his parent’s oldest child

he has a younger sister and had a younger brother, too, but said brother died as a baby, so Milan remained the only son

his parents died from a flu when he was sixteen and ever since then he was the village’s hunter

he also took care of his younger sister, in other words he had to take responsibility pretty soon

which was a bit difficult for him cause he’s always been pretty childish

I mean he wasn’t irresponsible by far but still he had to grow up too soon

his sister later married a merchant and moved to another village

she and her husband travel a lot so Milan rarely sees her, but she writes him letters regularly (Aiden always reads them to his father nowadays)

after his sister left (back then he didn’t know Ranva yet) he adopted a cat, Luna, to fill the silence in his room

as kids he and his sister once took in a hurt fawn and nursed it back to health

the house he and his family live in now is his childhood home

some great-grandfather of his once met a fae in the forest and helped them and as thanks he got a blessing and a fairytale book

Milan‘s father passed it down to him on his birthday because Milan loved fairytales and Milan later gave it to Henry for the same reason

when he was a child he had two best friends he was really close with, Levin and Holly, who remained very close friends of him (and his later family)

he was constantly third-wheeling as a teenager because the other two ended up dating, but he loved his friends

ever since his wife died Holly is looking after Milan when Aiden is away for a longer time

he’s always been very family oriented, he always wanted to have a wife and kids he could take care of

I mean this man loved his family more than anything in the world

Milan was always pretty popular in the village

he was charming and funny and people just adored him

so many older women in the village were devastated when he married an outsider instead of their daughter xD

also i said it before but he was crazy good at archery

he was invited to take part in the fae’s wildhunt

Milan only ever hunted to feed his family and village but never just for fun

he‘s always had a kinda… spiritual approach to hunting? it lies in the family, probably related to the fact that some early ancestors of his were still part of the old religion not saying he has witches in his family tree but I’m pretty sure he has
