Tamil New Year!
Tamil New Year is a time of auspiciousness. Historically, this day is significant as it is the day on which Brahma created the universe!
Nithyananda Sangha has much to celebrate also, as on this very day in 2001, SPH Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam inaugurated His first Sadashiva temple. After wandering India for 9 years, He realised His Avataric Mission on the banks of the Narmada River in Omkareshwara. After settling in the body, He decided to begin His public life by opening the first Aadheenam on the banks of the Cauvery River in Erode, India.
Also on this day over the years:
14th April 2007
: The day Kailasa Ohio happened! The Ohio Adheenam started this very day, where the Kumbhabhishekham of Nithyanandeshwara Hindu Temple was done. In a nature filled landscape, where 3 rivers meet, He gave prana pratishta (bringing stone to Life) to Sadashiva and AdiShakti, whose faces He himself carved.

Temple with Minerets The Omkareshwara Temple in Mercara is a 17th Century Shiva Temple constructed in the reign of the Kodava kings. Not particularly large, this temple is unusual in its Mughal Style architecture. The shikhara is shaped like a dome and surrounded by 4 minerets giving it a mosque like appearance. Some have speculated it was so designed to trick Muslim invaders under Tipu Sultan of Mysore, into thinking it was a mosque so they would not attack it.
