Ghostbusters: Afterlife - Trailer 2 Full Breakdown
This is it, this is definitely it!
A meaty and goosebump-evoking trailer just dropped today for Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
Much like the first trailer, the main focus of this is the family - forced to move to Oklahoma after falling on tough times. Janine, Terror Dogs, Mini Pufts, and Ghostbusting in motion as Jason Reitman has referred to it are all here. There’s a whole lot here to unpack, plus a whole lot that I’m sure we still haven’t seen. In fact, I would argue that we now have a pretty complete picture of what’s in store come November and are being shown just enough to tide us over until the fall.
This was a solid trailer. It hit all of the right notes. It invoked goosebumps on several occasions. And oh boy, does it demonstrate that Jason Reitman wasn’t kidding when he told us hardcore nerds that if we loved easter eggs, we were in for a treat.
Let’s break it down, shall we?
A GREAT MOM
The trailer begins with a very quiet and intimate bit of dialogue between Paul Rudd’s Mr. Grooberson and Carrie Coon’s Callie.
The two sit at a table, and while the trailer frames it to appear to be Spinners, a quick glimpse at the wall next to the two in a later shot shows they’re actually in a Chinese restaurant. In fact, I love that Grooberson has what looks to be one of the deluxe Benihana cocktails in a ceramic glass in front of him. Grooberson tells Callie that she’s a great mom, but she’s not so sure. Callie feels like she’s been a great mother to her oldest, Trevor (Finn Wolfhard). But feels like her introverted daughter Phoebe (McKenna Grace) keeps her at a distance. There’s a sense that Callie and Phoebe can’t find much common ground, and for this her mother is struggling.
I really love how the trailer gently brings us into the world, helps set the stage, and gives us several glimpses of some of the incredible cinematography in store from Eric Steelberg.
AN AWKWARD, NERDY KID
Grooberson’s dialogue reassures Callie that what Phoebe is going through is normal. He calls her an “awkward, nerdy kid” to imagery of her at school being teased. Ghostbusters: The Video Game fans concerned about if the story and events from the game will somehow be referenced or acknowledged in some way will probably quickly notice the Doritos product placement. Hours of gameplay has trained them well.
Anyway, not only is Phoebe failing to connect with her mother on a deeper level, but it appears that she’s an outsider at school as well. It makes the friendship we know she’s to have with Podcast (Logan Kim) that much sweeter. And you feel for her right out of the gate here, hoping that she’ll find that friend as soon as possible.
Callie and Grooberson’s conversation comes to a conclusion with Phoebe’s mother just wishing, “she’d get into some trouble.” As her mother laments about her daughter needing to be bold and a little more adventurous, we see a continuation of the scene from the first trailer in which Phoebe solves a puzzle built into the floor of the farmhouse in order to find a hidden ghost trap. Perhaps Ghostbusting is exactly the trouble the young and brainy kid needs?
As we, the audience, see the familiar ghost trap, there’s quite literally a drum roll added to the music scoring of the trailer. Perhaps Ghostbusting is exactly the trouble we need too.
JANINE, YOU HAVEN’T CHANGED
The trailer continues with the Trevor dialogue we heard in the first trailer as he explains to Lucky (Celeste O’Connor) that they’re broke and the only thing they have is a “creepy old farmhouse” left to them by their grandfather. But that is the lead in to our first major surprise of the trailer: a glimpse of Annie Potts’ return as Janine Melnitz!
Janine jokes to Callie that her father wasn’t much of a homemaker. “He could hardly keep the power on,” Janine says with a chuckle. If there was any question of the family lineage, this trailer solidifies that Callie and her family are Spengler through-and-through.
It should be noted at this point that the quiet music that accompanied the beginning of the trailer suddenly has these eerie choral notes added to it. Adding a little bit of that paranormal/otherworldly feeling but keeping the trailer light and playful. I’m not sure if this is Rob Simonsen’s score, but if I had to guess given the way the music builds and shifts, this is an original music bed for the trailer only.
It’s also interesting to see how we’ll be able to revisit the past in the film by use of footage from the original (as seen in the YouTube videos playing on various computers) but also the use of one of my favorite set photography moments framed and displayed in the farmhouse presented as a personal photograph. I know, given how some people reacted to seeing a headshot of Sean Connery used in an Indiana Jones film, these types of touches can take people out of a film. But I think the trailer gives us a great idea of how these moments will be integrated and I love it.
The trailer takes a hard turn with a great back and forth between Callie and Janine. Callie tells Janine that it sounds like her father has left her nothing. Janine playfully retorts, “Well, I wouldn’t say nothing.” This line is masterfully juxtaposed with Trevor opening the barn doors to find the Ectomobile housed under a tarp. The music comes to a crescendo as Trevor lifts the tarp and reveals the Ghostbusters Mooglie logo.
Let’s call this goosebumps moment number one.
THE ONLY ONE WITH AN ENGINE
It’s this part of the trailer where it does something that’s a rarity these days, and that I appreciate so much: the music takes a breath and completely drops off to give us a small vignette of a scene from the film. Phoebe enters the barn to find Trevor working on the Ecto. She ribs him that, of all the broken down cars on the farm, he’s chosen “the station wagon.” Trevor responds that his vehicle of choice was the only one with an engine.
The music and percussion come back in full force to score Trevor on a joy ride through the wheat fields of the farm. He seems to be having a good time.
So am I… this was definitely goosebumps moment number two.
A STORM COMING
Act Two of the trailer starts with a dark and ominous storm coming into Sumerville. There’s trouble in small town Oklahoma. Grooberson reiterates his line about a town with no faultlines shaking on a daily basis to Trevor and Phoebe. Only this time, he receives a response: “Maybe it’s the apocalypse.” Phoebe delivers the line to Grooberson with such amazing deadpan earnestness that you can tell she and grandpa might have a whole lot in common. Including their sense of humor.
The line gives us a good chuckle to break the tension but also sets the stage for what’s to come in the trailer: exactly what Phoebe has predicted.
EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON
As Phoebe tells us that “Egon came here for a reason,” an archival piece of footage and dialogue from the first film plays on her laptop: the commercial playing on Dana Barrett’s television at 55 CPW. As the original Ghostbusters give you their sales pitch, this is where the trailer really kicks into modern trailer overdrive.
Flashes of imagery including the PKE meter, Mini Puft mayhem at Wal-Mart, and more quickly breathe in and out. In fact, if this trailer is our Christmas present in July, this is where we’re unwrapping and unpacking what’s inside the box.
But we also get glimpses of a creepy underground temple with some pretty intense architecture and even creepier statue work. Terror dog/human hybrid statues flanking what looks to be a pharaoh with wings. And gaunt peasants all reaching out to it all. Did Sumerians have pharaohs? Or is this something else? Certainly seems like if there were Gozer worshippers out there, this might be a stone tribute to them.
The kids discover the terrifying temple and Trevor gives us an “oh my god” to punctuate as they see what we see.
NICE DOGGY, CUTE LITTLE POOCH
Right about this part of the trailer is where my brain explodes and I’m not sure where to start. Imagery is rapid fire as the shit hits the fan.
Phoebe looks into a cauldron in the temple (where there’s numbers behind her that we’ll have to analyze further at some point). And the cork pops on the bottle. As she does so, there’s a terrifying growl in the background foreshadowing some familiar imagery we’re about to see.
But before we get to that, two incredible things are seen as well: familiar purple PKE trails that look a whole lot like those that explode from the firehouse and converge at Spook Central. And, as Grooberson’s line about New York City looking like “The Walking Dead” is repurposed to sound like he’s talking about Sumerville, there’s an incredible physical creature design sitting at a lunch counter. A half-decomposed cabbie maybe? Wearing a 1970’s collar and neckerchief. To my eye, I’d be willing to bet that’s the work of Arjen Tuiten and his team of creature designers. And it’d make Steve Johnson proud.
Plus it’s such a funny image of this corpse sitting at a lunch counter, and the waiter is pour him coffee like it ain’t no thing. I love it.
Back to man’s worst friend: the terror dogs make several appearances in the trailer. First as a cool half-manifested entity above Groobersen and again chasing the poor guy out of a Wal-Mart. Is Groobersen haunted by these things like Louis Tully? Or is something else going on here?
IN A SPIRITUAL SENSE, OF COURSE
If there was a moment that I expected Ray Parker Jr.’s iconic theme song to kick into full gear, this would have been it. The icing on the cake of the trailer, after we see the dead rising from the grave and all hell breaking loose, is Trevor, Phoebe and Podcast all in the Ecto chasing after what we now know is Muncher. The editorial of this is insanely cool. And we get to see the Remote Trap Vehicle (RTV) deployed from the Ecto and how it’s used in the pursuit of Muncher. We’ve seen the gunner seat, but the beats that this moment in the trailer hit, well…
Goosebumps moment number three.
VENKMAN, WE’RE NOT HOME
After all the debate among friends if there would be a “Chewie, We’re Home” moment in this trailer - where we’d see one of the original Ghostbusters live and in the flesh, we got the perfect tease. As Grooberson, Phoebe and Podcast watch the conclusion of the original 1984 ad, the trailer closes with a phone ringing inside a very familiar looking Occult Book shop.
Tattooed arms (I’ve tried with everything I can to see what the tattoo says) pick up the phone and the familiar voice of Dr. Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) curtly tells whomever is on the other end of that phone that, “We’re closed.” A perfect little tease if you ask me. Let’s save seeing Peter, Ray and Winston on-screen to the main event.

Beautiful Homes of Instagram: Painted Brick Exterior
Hi, everyone! How are you today? I had such a wonderful weekend. I baked with my husband and even attempted to make some cheese… but don’t ask about that! LOL. Anyway, I am super happy and excited because the weather is finally changing and the sun is shinning. I am also so very happy because I adore Callie of ceshome6 and her style so much that this is the second time I have her on my “Beautiful Homes of Instagram” series. The first time, I shared her formal home (you can see it here) and it became one of my most-pinned posts! Today, I am proud to be sharing Callie’s new home and I am sure you will enjoy seeing and knowing all details as much as I did!
“My husband and I were originally from a small town in North Texas near Oklahoma. We have known each other since kindergarten but didn’t start dating until our junior year of high school. After graduation we moved to the Dallas area for college and have stayed close ever since. We will have been married for 15 years this July and have 4 beautiful children; a 17 year old daughter, a 14 year old daughter, a 9 year old son, and a 5 year old daughter. I feel very blessed to be able to stay at home with them and take care of our family and home.
We had planned to build a home again but during our search I found this spec home and the moment I walked in I loved it. It was my style with the color selections and it was the perfect size for our family. Another bonus was that it was already complete and ready to move in. We went for it and two months later we moved into our new home.
My favorite part of the home is the long open kitchen, dining and living space in one and we spend the most time gathered in this area as a family. I’ve always loved to decorate my homes to really feel cozy and welcoming. I don’t have one specific design style but like to incorporate in different pieces I like. My home is a mix of modern, rustic, farmhouse and french country. I also try to be minimal in my decor because with having 4 kids I don’t want to have to worry so much about moving things all the time or things getting broken.”
I hope you enjoy our house tour!

I loved this buffalo plaid one and it goes so well with all my other decor!

The wood Scrabble letter tiles feature our names and birth dates.
Wood Scrabble Letters: here – similar.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom is located in the back of the house.
Magnolia Inspiration
I decided I wanted a black a white theme when I saw a photo from Magnolia Home that had beautiful black wood arched frames behind the nightstands. I like to save money when possible so I found my own version from Kirkland’s (similar here) and spray painted them black to get the same look for over half the cost.
Bed & Bedding
The bed set is from the Magnolia Home line at Nebraska Furniture Mart. The bedding and lamps are from Target.
Decor
There’s a small corner in the room that was bare so I found this cute macrame wall hanging (similar here) and an olive plant at Homegoods. It’s very simple but I love it.
Faux Olive Plant: here.
Study
The study is in the front of the home off to the side when you come in the front door. I recently completed a makeover in my study by adding Weaber Lumber white washed wall boards from Home Depot to a focal wall and I love how the transformation turned out. It makes the room so bright and open. I also added greenery with these hanging macrame plant hangers from amazon. I decided to save some money by painting a few terra cotta pots from Hobby Lobby to match my decor and filled them with IKEA plants.
To really make the room pop I changed out the lighting to a beautiful wood bead chandelier from World Market. I found this desk at Restoration Hardware a few years ago and both the chair and rug are from Nebraska Furniture Mart.
Similar Desk: here – Others: here, here, here & here.
Similar Desk Chair: here.

8 Easy Ways To Facilitate My Farm Bureau | my farm bureau
Many consumers are confused by the difference between my Farm Bureau and FarmVille. My Farm Bureau is an online website that allows you to build your own farm on My Farm Bank but does not allow you to sell any of your products. On the other hand, FarmVille is similar to Facebook in that you can add friends and interact with them.
One thing you may want to know about FarmVille before you use it is that it will let you put up virtual real estate on your farm for sale. When you click on a piece of land to build your farm, you will be asked if you would like to place a barn on it. If you do, you can also choose to build a small house, a large house, or even a farmhouse-in-a-box.
What FarmVille will also let you do is create a virtual game that is very similar to Farmville. This means that once you build your farm and then sell all of your crops, you will earn virtual money. The only difference between FarmVille and Farm Bureau is that you will earn actual money instead of virtual money. You will also earn points towards winning virtual prizes like farm equipment and vehicles. Some people say this is the best free online FarmVille, and for good reason.
However, as mentioned above, when you play FarmVille, you will earn real money. So, if you choose to make money with FarmVille, you should also make sure you have an actual FarmVille account in place before you do.
Another thing you may want to know about Farm Bureau is that the Farm Bureau allows you to sell real estate on your farm that is in the public domain. This means that you can sell any farm land, property, or any type of real estate that is in the public domain.
While you might think that this is a bad thing, it is actually a great deal because you can buy properties for less than they would cost on a private market. If you are willing to take a risk your personal assets on buying real estate for less than they are worth, then by all means do so.
Another thing you may want to know about Farm Bureau is that it has a lot of tools that allow you to sell your farm. You can also check how much you are spending on each crop, as well as see how many crops you have produced and stored in your farm barn.
It's always a good idea to check out Farm Bureau before you buy real estate. FarmVille and Farm Bureau can save you time, money, and stress. So, get out there and try these two free online games today!

Going Down to ‘Leven Point by the Ozark Highballers - On Sale April 5th!
Tumblr media
Jalopy Records is proud to announce “Going Down to ‘Leven Point,” the first studio album from The Ozark Highballers, coming out on April 5th, 2019.  The album’s release is scheduled to coincide with their headlining performance at the Brooklyn Folk Festival.
youtube
The Ozark Highballers is a string band from the Ozark Mountains of Western Arkansas, composed of Roy Pilgrim (fiddle), Aviva Steigmeyer (guitar), Clarke Buehling (banjo) and Seth Shumate (harmonica).
The album features 22 all new recordings by the band, along with extensive liner notes and historic photographs documenting the origins of the music.
Pre-Order Here! http://ozarkhighballers.bandcamp.com/album/going-down-to-leven-point Since 2014 the Ozark Highballers have brought their music to square dances, farmers markets, festivals as well as plain old street corners and front porches. Their music reflects the age old spirit and drive of the rural Ozark string bands of Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
Recorded in Arkansas and mixed at an old farmhouse in Virginia, these recordings bridge the gap between studio recordings and field recordings.  The record captures this energizing music in a way that is pure and urgent like a home field recording, and beautifully engineered like a studio album. The songs, stories and instrumentals on this record draw the listener in:  They are poignant and transformative, challenging listeners to allow this old and “outsider” music into their present day life, alongside the music on the radio, TV and front pages of the internet.
The Ozark Highballers subvert the norms of the music world in many ways.  They come out of a deep history, playing music that exists outside of cities, and without regard to entertainment industry standards, or publicity requirements.  Most bands are in a single age group, but The Ozark Highballers is a multi-generational band that has learned their music from family members, elder musicians in their community and field recordings buried in archival collections.
Roy is “the best young fiddler and singer to come out of Arkansas in many many years” says folklorist and producer Eli Smith, while singer/guitarist Aviva is not only a wonderful musician and print maker, but also one the only young female guitar builders in the United States.  Roy began playing music with neighbors at the age of eight. He is also a carpenter and operates a small logging and sawmill operation with his brother. Roy and Aviva live outside of West Fork, AR on a small homestead where they raise a couple of pigs, a big garden, and a sorghum patch.
youtube
The band is multi-generational, featuring Clarke Buehling, a nationally recognized, contest winning 5-string banjo master, who has been playing intricate, arcane and wonderful banjo music since the 1960’s.  Seth Shumate is one of the best harmonica players in the United States.  He plays in the old time style to complement, often note for note, the melody of the fiddle. Seth’s grandfather and great-grandmother both played harmonica in the Arkansas Ozarks of Stone County.  Seth currently resides in Dubai, UAE but comes home to play in the band.
The Ozark Highballers have performed at the Brooklyn Folk Festival, Ozark Folk Center, Stephen Foster Old-time Week, Bluff Country Gathering, St. Louis Folk & Roots Festival, Rocky Mountain Old-time Music Festival, and more, and have recently received the Artist 360 grant from the Mid-America Arts Alliance. Their name comes from an old railroading term. A “highball” freight train is the kind of train that used to speed across the vast open areas of the United States.  A highball a signal, from the days of steam locomotives, when a station operator would hoist a large wooden ball up a standard, signaling that the train was clear to make good time.
The music on Going Down to ‘Leven Point has a fascinating provenance, and conveys American history in a visceral manner. As an example, here is information about the very first track:
Their version of Hell Amongst the Yearlings is from Oklahoma fiddler Dick Hutchison (1897-1986). Hutchison was born in far southwestern Missouri. When he was a boy his family moved to northeastern Oklahoma in a covered wagon where he spent the rest of his life. Like the adjacent rolling hills of Arkansas and Missouri, this part of Oklahoma shares a deep wealth of traditional Ozark fiddling. As a young man, Uncle Dick Hutchison worked as a cowboy around Osage County where he was a popular ranch hand because of his fine fiddling at dances held on the ranch. He made multiple recordings and was renowned at fiddle contests and dances. His fiddling was considered by many to be the archetype of Oklahoma Ozark fiddle music.
The title of the album comes from the 11th track, “Going Down to Leven Point to Get a Load of Corn”.  The Eleven Point is a beautiful spring-fed river running from southern Missouri to northern Arkansas. Roy learned this tune from the playing of Joseph Mulkey Kent (1874-1959) of Evening Shade, Sharp County, Ark. Mulkey Kent was a well-known contest fiddler, winning 31 first prizes including the 1927 Arkansas State Fiddle Championship held in Fayetteville, Ark.  He was recorded by John Quincy Wolf, Jr, PhD, four months before his death. His recordings are held at the John Quincy Wolf Folklore Collection at Lyons College, Batesville, Ark. In 2017 Roy was awarded the Mulkey Kent award for “Outstanding Ozark Fiddling.”
From the liner notes, written by the band:
Old-time is the music of square dances and school houses, church picnics and farm potlucks. It is the music heard on front porches while your hands are busy threshing beans or shelling corn. It is the music of the country, before country music was commercial, and each region of the United States has its own particular sound, from the hornpipes of the Midwest to the Cajun dance music of Louisiana to the driving mountain-breakdowns of Appalachia and the Ozarks. We are passionate about playing an Ozark music repertoire not just because it’s a local tradition that deserves to be carried on, but also because it’s a vibrant part of an ever-growing community in the Ozarks. Our rich tradition of music goes far beyond the “hillbilly” stereotypes and cultural tourism that often mask our region.  Ozark music is a vital part of the many colored quilt that is our American musical heritage.
We have spent the last few years researching and learning our local music through various sources such as commercial 78 rpm recordings from the 1920s, old-timers in our community, and field recordings from several University archive libraries. The result is a repertoire that we feel accurately represents the myriad facets of Ozark music tradition at its best. We hope this album will be enjoyable to listen to, while it also documents a tradition and serves as a resource for all those in the old-time music community.

Heads Up! Scary Hunting Lodge Home Shoots to Top Spot of Most Popular Listings
realtor.com
Lions, and tigers, and bears … oh my! And in a house? A Minnesota hunting lodge has bagged another trophy: as this week’s most popular home. Inside, the home is filled with countless stuffed animal heads (and other body parts), mounted and displayed in a jaw-dropping showroom.
This week’s runner-up continues to whip up its fair share of interest. The infamous Pennsylvania home with a fully furnished BDSM basement still has the competition all tied up.
Other homes dominating the charts this week include the most expensive home in Arizona, a brownstone in Chicago, IL, once owned by Al Capone, and a Colorado retreat built by Frank Lloyd Wright’s granddaughter.
Check out all 10 of this week’s trophy-worthy properties by simply scrolling down…
10. 10814 E Heritage Ct, Scottsdale, AZ
Price: $26 million Why it’s here: Completely renovated in 2018, this high-end home was transformed from a meh Mediterranean into a cool contemporary. The furnished space offers 14,350 square feet of luxe living space and is the most expensive home in Arizona. The spread features nine ensuite bedrooms, a caretaker suite, wine room, chef’s kitchen, home theater, and an enormous outdoor area with a pool.
Scottsdale, AZ

9. 22746 Covert Rd, Orbisonia, PA
Price: $5 million Why it’s here: This rural retreat four hours from New York City offers plenty of room to spread out. Buyers should pack paintbrushes in their deep pockets: This farm on 160 acres served as the home and studio of the American artists Lee Bontecou and Bill Giles. The space includes a main house with three studios, an original restored farmhouse, and a remodeled, climate-controlled barn that includes more studio spaces.
Orbisonia, PA

8. 6024 William Bent Rd, Hidden Hills, CA
Price: $5,650,000 Why it’s here: The celebrity-riddled enclave of Hidden Hills continues to fascinate the web, including this piece of plum real estate. It’s a Mediterranean on a quiet cul-de-sac that’s been upgraded throughout. It features lovely views, a fire pit, a covered patio, pool and spa, waterfalls, and a slide.
Hidden Hills, CA

———
7. 5300 SE 134th St, Oklahoma City, OK
Price: $250,000 Why it’s here: Investors in search of a project made this place popular. It’s huge—over 9,000 square feet—but is likely to require a lot of work. No photos of the interior were available, but at $27 per square foot, what more do you really need to see?
Oklahoma City, OK

———
6. 3603 Starline Dr, Austin, TX
Price: $599,000 Why it’s here: A classic in the capital of Texas. The interior could use an update, but it’s still worthy of a second look. The home is in a fabulous north-central location just minutes to downtown and offers nearly an acre of scenic land backing on to a spring-fed creek.
Austin, TX
realtor.com
———
5. 6925 Spring Place Rd SE, Cleveland, TN
Price: $425,000 Why it’s here: The “Fixer Upper” effect takes over Tennessee! Built in 2015, this charmer has taken a page from the book of home remodeling gurus Chip and Joanna Gaines. It features an open floor plan, with a living area and fireplace flowing into an elegant kitchen and open dining area. The master suite features a fireplace and a subway tile shower. Details include barn doors and plenty of exposed brick, as well as an outdoor pool and covered patio. The style must have resonated with buyers, because the home’s already in contingency status.
Cleveland, TN
realtor.com
———
4. 7244 S Prairie Ave, Chicago, IL
Price: $109,900 Why it’s here: Own a piece of Chicago history! This two-unit brownstone from 1905 was once owned by the infamous gangster Al Capone. While the building needs remodeling, original details worth preserving abound. There are hardwood floors and wood trim, octagon-shaped living rooms, a full basement, and an all-brick garage. Live in one, rent the other, or pick it up as an investment property. Either way, Capone would call it a steal.
Chicago, IL

———
3. 2727 N Chelton Rd, Colorado Springs, CO
Price: $400,000 Why it’s here: Inspired by her grandfather, Frank Lloyd Wright, the environmental architect Elizabeth Wright Ingraham built this place for a family with 10 children in 1963. Sitting on a 1.1-acre lot with mountain views, the home is in need of renovations, but presents a “rare and unique opportunity” to continue the Wright family legacy.
Colorado Springs, CO
realtor.com
———
2. 1612 Norristown Rd, Maple Glen, PA
Price: $750,000 Why it’s here: In case you somehow missed it, last week’s No. 1 home comes complete with a BDSM dungeon—and all the equipment in the photos is included with the purchase of the home. Whee! After racking up a record number of clicks last week, the home surrendered the top spot this week.
Maple Glen, PA
realtor.com
———
1. 12415 County Highway 117, Dalton, MN
Price: $795,000 Why it’s here: Trigger warning for vegetarians and PETA members. This hunting lodge holds a surprise within. As in … stuffed animal heads. A lot of them.
Listing agent Alan Olson, doesn’t know exactly how many. “[The owner] traveled worldwide for those hunts,” says the agent, “They are his trophies.”
If you’re wondering if the sale includes the animal mounts, it doesn’t. In fact, someone already contacted the owner to negotiate a sale of the entire taxidermy collection, “lock, stock, and barrel,” as Olson puts it.
From countless deer (a number of the white-tailed deer showcased in the home came right off the owner’s land) to exotic kills like giraffe, zebra, and tiger, the animal trophies fill a 7,000-square-foot showroom that includes seating and a bar. Of course, a bar.
The home is situated on 90 acres of hunting lands that abut an additional 168 acres of public hunting land. The owner has also kept the ponds stocked with local fish like walleyes, and allows neighbors to fish them.
Not that you’ll notice, but the main house, essentially “brand-new inside,” features a designer kitchen, a fireplace, central air, and sliding glass doors to a landscaped patio. An additional building includes the family room with fireplace and bar, a gym, and two more bedrooms.
Dalton, MN

Jeffrey Epstein’s Palm Beach Mansion Is This Week’s Most Popular Home
realtor.com
One of the country’s most infamous homes went up for sale this week, and the clicks soon followed.
The Palm Beach, FL, mansion of the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein listed for $22 million, and the sheer curiosity it inspired made it the week’s most popular home on realtor.com®.
The disgraced financier died in jail a year ago, while facing an array of criminal charges. Two of his properties—one in Florida, the other in New York—just went on the market.
The Palm Beach home is the less expensive of the two, and the images available are limited to a handful of shots of the mansion’s exterior. This lack of listing photos, however, didn’t stop gawkers from taking a peek at the property.
Just a couple miles north of Mar-a-Lago, the waterfront mansion was designed by John Volk, an architect of the mid-20th century who helped to define Palm Beach’s signature style.
While Palm Beach remains popular with luxury buyers, it will be interesting to see whether anyone will be able to look past the home’s most recent owner.
Aside from Epstein’s mansion, you also clicked on the country’s most expensive home, the second-oldest home in Indiana, and a marvelous modern farmhouse in Oklahoma.
We also saw the return of the wild underground bunker lurking below Las Vegas—an ideal property for 2020.
For a full look at all of this week’s most popular properties, simply scroll on down…
10. 1 Cedar Glade, Corydon, IN

The five-bedroom main house is in Federal style and offers more than 7,000 square feet of living space.

Why it’s here: Near the Possum Woods sits this lovely blue Colonial built in 1904.
The five-bedroom home includes a finished attic, original wood flooring, and a walkout basement. We’re particularly enamored with the enclosed porch on the second floor. A fenced yard features an above-ground pool next to a four-car garage with woodshop.
For a buyer looking to spread out, there’s an additional 2.5 acres available for purchase.
Springfield, OH
realtor.com
———
1. 358 El Brillo Way, Palm Beach, FL
Price: $21,995,000
Why it’s here: Infamy drives clicks. The former mansion of the notorious Jeffrey Epstein landed on the market, and curious gawkers wanted a look.
The listing photos of the palatial spread don’t offer much, simply showcasing the exterior of the estate.
It’s located in one of the country’s most prestigious towns, and we’ll keep an eye out to see if anyone wants to buy a home with substantial baggage.

Mid-century Modern Farmhouse
After seeing a some darling coastal interiors this week, I am excited to share this “mid-century meets modern farmhouse” with a rustic exterior on our weekly “Interior Design Ideas” series.  Here, the interior designer, Kelsey McGregor of Kelsey Leigh Design Co. shares some more details:
“The majority of my inspiration comes from elements in nature. This project was inspired by the quaint town of Telluride, Colorado, a mountain haven nestled in the Rocky Mountains. This home is in Edmond, Oklahoma, where there are, in fact, zero mountains on hand. That’s why we wanted to create a serene, home-away-from-home, vacation get-away. The design was a fusion of intentional rustic elements, traditional roots and fresh modern touches like industrial lighting to ground the space but also add a modern twist. The house is bathed in natural light and backs up to wooded green space, so we kept the space open with a lot of windows and painted the walls a slight gray to accentuate and mimic the outdoors. Hickory hardwood flooring is consistent through this open concept floor plan designed by McGregor Homes in Oklahoma City, which lent perfectly to the mountain vibes we were trying to achieve.”
Start pinning your favorite interior design photos and have a good time, my friends!

Ultracheap ‘Fixer Upper’ Home in Waco Is This Week’s Most Popular Listing
realtor.com
It’s shiplap for the win! Yet again, a home featured on the smash HGTV show “Fixer Upper” tops the most popular homes on realtor.com®. This week, it’s a place from the show’s fifth (and, gulp, final!) season: a fully remodeled Waco, TX, home on the market for $349,900.
Unlike some of the pricier listings reimagined by Chip and Joanna Gaines, this two-bedroom home isn’t asking for a gigantic Gaines-based premium. We delved into the decision to list the home, and found a few folks who thought the place was still overpriced. But for fans of the show, owning a home with a Magnolia pedigree is a true score. As proof, the home is now pending sale.
This week’s runner-up for the most clicks is a massive Southern California compound with an equally massive price: $85 million. Gawkers wanted to see more of this 33-acre spread with seven separate structures.
Other homes piqueing your interest this week include an updated farmhouse in Washington, a clean A-frame in Illinois, and an affordable Mid-Century Modern in Ohio. According to the listing agent, the Ohio gem has been drawing tons of interest.
For now, we invite you to slow down and savor this week’s 10 most popular properties.
10. 11639 Olalla Valley Rd SE, Olalla, WA
Price: $499,000 Why it’s here: Oh, la-la in Olalla! This charming farmhouse from 1912 sits on a little over 2 acres. The three-bedroom layout has been “nicely updated.” There’s also an unfinished basement with a shop, and a bonus room with kitchenette above the garage. We dig the garage doors!

9. 2727 E Newberry Blvd, Milwaukee, WI
Price: $1,695,000 Why it’s here: If you admired the French/Italian Gothic–inspired mansion that topped our chart last week, there’s still time to snap it up. The Victorian has been fully restored and modernized throughout, but original details remain, including the turrets, hardwood floors, and stained-glass windows.

7. 752 N Main St, East Peoria, IL
Price: $264,900 Why it’s here: Views, views, views. The remodeled A-frame has a great room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a vaulted ceiling. There’s also a large kitchen, wraparound deck, second-floor balcony, and screened-in porch.

6. 119 Miles Ave NW, Canton, OH
Price: $168,900 Why it’s here: Act fast if you want this sizzling-hot property. Its “Jetsons” vibe has also been updated by the owners, who bought it at auction in 2011 for under $80,000.
“They spent a lot of time and energy to make it look that way,” says listing agent Eric Bevington with KIKO Company.
The property is located in a “typical suburban setting,” he says, but is “very, very unique. When you walk in, you’re either going to love it or it’s not for you.”
The open space includes a custom fireplace, chef’s kitchen, cork flooring, and a master bedroom with a tiled, walk-in shower.

5. 52069 Highway 51 S, Independence, LA
Price: $165,000 Why it’s here: We’ll offer a toast to this opportunity! This brick house from 1930 was the original location of the Pioneer Wine company. Now it’s in need of some TLC. We hope someone uncorks the potential behind this historic home.

4. 1500 S Ocean Blvd, Palm Beach, FL
Price: $95 million Why it’s here: Palm Beach perfection. Last week’s most expensive new listing is owned by tech billionaire Jim Clark. The classic home built in 1927 was in sad shape when Clark bought it for $11 million. After renovating the property, he now wants to sell. Although the price tag is stratospheric, it’s a huge reduction from its original list price of $137 million.

3. 8106 Hohman Ave, Munster, IN
Price: $284,900 Why it’s here: A Cape Cod in Indiana? This three-bedroom stone home from 1925 has been blessed with “tasteful” modern updates. Details include hardwood floors, an updated kitchen, and a sunroom with vaulted ceiling and skylight. The location is close to shopping, and it’s an easy commute to Chicago.

2. 3970 Victoria Ln, Westlake Village, CA
Price: $85 million Why it’s here: Who can resist ogling a luxurious Southern California compound owned by movie producer and tech titan Thomas Tull? The grounds of the 33.3-acre property were inspired by Monet’s gardens, and include a lake, mill house, stone bridge, and four cascading pools.

1. 3829 Herwol Ave, Waco, TX
Price: $349,900 Why it’s here: It’s the “Fixer Upper” factor. Featured on the show’s fifth season, the two-bedroom home has a sweet kitchen with concrete countertops, formal living room, den, and space for a home office. The price seems reasonable for a home featured on the popular TV show (some of the past renovations on the show asked north of a million). The reason: It’s a relatively small place, with just two bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. But for fans of the show, owning a Gaines renovation, no matter the cost, might just be priceless.
