aging yourself up or down in your dr (+ dating)

I actually refrained from talking on this topic on my tiktok since I knew I was going to get chased off the app and didn’t see a point in talking about it on tumblr since everybody here seems to be more open minded and mind their own business, until I saw multiple posts a few days ago here, where the op were shaming people for changing their age or changing the ages of people in their dr

those people definitely came from tiktok and I honestly hope this post reaches them as I didn’t want to directly interact with them

I think one of the posts was about how adults age ‘minors’ in their dr to date them is problematic, which made me laugh, because how is it problematic if they’re both the same age in their dr?

and the sad thing about that post is that the op said that they’re aware how shifting works and all that, but still finds it problematic and hopes people that do that never shift which is just… girly I hope YOU never shift because you don’t deserve it for shaming people trying to live their lives

I’m not going to go into details about the og posts, but they still have the outdated idea that if you shift for a character that is much younger than you here it’s ‘problematic’. once again: how is it problematic if you’re the same age in your dr?

and then they hit you with another outdated take ‘it’s problematic because you find them attractive here’ which is ridiculous because of so many reasons

1.many characters (especially anime characters) don’t act or look their age. if your perceived a character as an adult initially then found out they’re a minor, I simply don’t care. ages in fiction never matter, if your mind perceived x as a certain age then they’re that age idc; 99.99% people are attracted to a character for who they are, not their age

2.many people had crushes on characters when they were younger or the same age with that character and still like them. let’s boo them that their crush on the character didn’t die and their fav character didn’t age, acting like you’re not going to be in their place in a few years

‘not true I’ll stop liking my favorite character when I’m of age 😡’

okay sweetie keep telling yourself that, because I keep seeing people on tiktok that had this mentality: they liked an underage character when they were minors and wanted to shift for them, now they’re adults, haven’t shifted yet but STILL like that character and regret having said they’re gonna stop liking that character when they’re adults because it didn’t happen lol

3.people don’t always script that an underage person here will be their s/o, it just might happen. I’m actually going to use myself as an example for this: so here I’m an adult and I’m also aroace which I dislike because I always dreamed of a fantasy novel like romantic relationship, so I’m straight or bi in most of my drs so I can date. in my jujutsu kaisen dr, all the people in jujutsu tech are adults because I don’t like teens or kids and don’t wanna hangout with them. in my 30+ drs I only have 3 scripted s/os which are all adults here. I didn’t script an s/o for my jjk dr, because I want to focus more on friendships and training there (but secretly hoped choso would pick me, a girl can dream ok); a few weeks ago I channeled multiple people from my dr (yuuji, megumi, nobara, gojo, nanami and geto) and I received normal messages from all of them. I expected all of their answers, except yuuji’s answers which had romantic aspects to them. that made me realize that he might have a crush on me and maybe we’ll even date in my dr or something? who knows, I didn’t think too much about it so idk

so now if a character that’s underage here likes me in my dr, am I supposed to refuse them or shift out? lmao you’re delusional if you think I’m doing that

4.people that have never experienced adolescence love here. a lot of people dreamed of having that sweet experience of teenage romance that disney and an insane amount of shows and movies love to push, but instead their teen years were filled with abuse and hate. why shouldn’t they shift to experience what was taken from them here?

ALSO let’s switch this around: why is okay for minors to date adults in their dr, but not the other way around?

do you genuinely think it’s okay to be a minor here and date an adult in your dr? like do you really think your s/o would feel comfortable being sexualized by a minor and dating a person that’s a minor in another reality? you lowkey forced your partner to become a pedo if you think about it 🙁 /jk

and also if you shift to a reality where you’re a minor and become of age there, you’re officially an adult and shouldn’t date minors anymore, even in your ‘original reality’ where you’re still a minor. please keep the same standards for yourself

Ok quick recap for day 2 of ANDROGYNOS before I go out to eat lol

Again we had another peak Kyo vocal performance today, and he had a lot more stage energy today, a lot more audience interaction. He seemed super pumped up compared to yesterday which was awesome to see

Kyo was wearing the black outfit today, he had two leather gloved severed arms draped around his neck like a scarf, where the two arms hung in front. He also had a red baby like the D'OR one hanging on his back. Its a little hard to describe, but i kind of want to draw it. Kyo also came on stage holding a bouquet of black flowers and performed with it for a while. Overall I kind of preferred day 1's look better, but that's because the red hair and red robe from day 1 was so vibrant and beautiful, today's look was absolutely gorgeous too though. Maybe among my favorites to be honest

Kyo had extremely intricate makeup today with painted skull teeth and almost zombie like skin with the intricate black lines all over his face. His extensions today were black and very long, probably as long as last night (about waist length)

Setlist unfortunately very similar to yesterday, but world of mercy was a welcome difference, and it was a pretty incredible performance of it. I unfortunately can't recall the complete setlist rn but I'm sure it's already been posted elsewhere. That was my main disappointment of the night, unfortunately, but all the performances were still solid as fuck. We got a much more emotional Ranunculus this time

Did not understand any of Kyo's MC this time lmao but yes, he did another MC.

I swear Kaoru's hair is light pink? But idk if that was just the lighting and it's actually blonde

Toshiya's costume included detachable kimono like sleeves, he threw one of them off at the end of their performance in a very dramatic fashion. In general, Toshiya was super showy the whole live lol

One thing I forgot to mention yesterday is that Kyo danced quite a lot on both days, mostly the strange jerking "robot" like dance moves where he looks like a marionette. It was literally mesmerizing.

I cannot emphasize how hard Kyo went with his performances. He was constantly dancing, headbanging, and moving around, and he had the DIR fans in the audience wrapped around his little finger. The Pierrot fans were not super enthused though lol

So I’ve worked food service for over three years collectively, while taking short breaks where I was doing other things. I’m going to be working food service for at least the next 6 months. And while it can be nice when it’s busy and goes by fast, pretty much every day can feel the same and just feel meaningless and boring. Here are the games/things to do I’ve made up to make it more interesting, incase anyone finds it helpful. Some of these also work for retail/anything where you interact with people face to face each day:

1. Rate people’s outfits (in your head of course, unless you like them and then I try to give people compliments). I rate each person’s outfit from 1-5, 1 being I hate this and would never wear it, 5 being this would be one of my favorite things if I owned it. For guys I rate it based off of what I would think if my husband wore it. It’s easy to play in the back of my mind while taking people’s orders.

2. Pick something about a person to pay close attention to on each person. It could be looking at each person’s wedding ring, their eye color, their nose shape, their nail polish. Just something to stop and pay attention to, and it helps me remember that each person I see has their own story and it made in the image of God. Because when you’re moving so fast, it’s easy to treat ever interaction as something you just want to do and move on, but I’d like to think my job can be a little more than that if I try.

3. Name game. Since I have to ask people’s names for orders, sometimes I try to think of a fictional character or a person I know with the same name. Bonus also is if you can think of a song with the name. Sometimes I get Lara from the Arcadian Wild stuck in my head.

4. Ok this one is kind of weird, but I’ll pretend that rather than being a fast food worker, I’m actually part of a Medieval village and I’m filling orders for supplies people need for their families during a war. It’s urgent, because either a storm’s coming, or an army is about to attack. I know it’s weird, but hey, sometimes when your work seems mostly meaningless, you have to pretend it’s something else entirely.

Poly Heathers & Veronica and Love

This is a remake of one of my older posts, "Headcannons part 69420", updated with more stuff and more elaboration

Heather Chandler:

Chandler's love language (giving) is acts of service

She is always doing something for her wives, wether that be making them a little extra treat when she goes to make dinner or taking them to their favorite places on a whim or even preparing a nice bath for them when she knows they've had a hard day at work

By her own admission she isn't the best with words

She's brash and often rude and has a hard time vocalizing her thoughts, the inability to do so causing her much frustration

Why can't she just tell them how much she cares for them, how much she needs them, why is it so hard?

It actually caused her to start to fear that they would think she was ungrateful or even that she hated them, but after opening up to them about it she was reassured that of course they didn't think she hated them, they all had different ways of showing love and that it was ok that she didn't outwardly show it

Despite this, Chandler still feels the need to put in more effort into showing her affections but also that what she does is never enough

As a stay-at-home wife she has plenty of free time on her hands, and with that time she will try and think of something nice she could do for her wives

Sometimes its just as simple as her spotting something one of them would like at the store and picking it up for them

Other times she goes more out

For example, for a whole week Duke had been dreading a meeting with some agency which would determine what happened to one of her kids, stressing about it to the point of tears

So that day when she came home, Chandler had prepared her favorite dish (with a huge chocolate cake, Chandler knows her green-clad wife is a monster for that shit), went out to get some high end bath bombs, and even got Mac and Veronica to come home early to help comfort her incase things went poorly

Thankfully they didn't, but Duke spent the whole night teasing Chandler about how soft she's gotten

She tried to refute it but it was of no use, she was blushing heavily

The only thing she won't do for her wives is intentionally lose at a game

Despite her ego deflating since high school ended, the pride still remains, and Chandler physically cannot force herself to lose even if it would make one of her wives feel better

Her love language (receiving) is words of affirmation

Its amazing how a few words from her wives can soothe all of her worries

Maybe its because of how bad she is with words, but just hearing an "its ok" or "I love you" sets her mind at ease

It lets her know that her efforts appreciated, but also does so in a direct way

Despite being the HBIC for years and dealing with all the interactions that entailed Chandler is hilariously bad at gauging how someone is feeling

She's used to just intimidating people into doing her bidding, but she obviously can't do that with the people she loves

By having it told straight to her that she is loved and needed and that she's done a good job she can understands how they are feeling without any doubt

She also has a massive praise kink

Veronica once called her a "good girl" and Chandler's face was as red as her blazer for the rest of the day

Now when one of them wants to mess with her they'll whisper "good girl" into her ear and watch her blush furiously

Every Saturday the four of them will have date night

They don't always go out as a whole polycule, what they do is follow a schedule

For the first 3 weekends of the month they will have two 1 on 1 dates, and on the fourth week the 4 of them will go out

For example, Week 1 is Chansaw and McDuke

Week 2 is Chandlamara and Dukesaw

Week 3 is Chanduke and Mcnamaywer

Week 4 is the whole polycule

This way they can all have a day to spend quality time with each of their wives

They also follow a schedule within it for who sets up the date

For example in Week 1, one month Chandler and Mac will choose what they do for their date, the next month Veronica and Duke, and so on

The same applies to their group date as well

When it's Chandler's turn to choose, she prefers classic date ideas

Call her old-fashioned, but she loves the cheesey romance

Of course she loves getting dolled up and nice and pretty, plus she also gets to help her wives pick out something that'll match

If she's not with Mac she'll go to a fancy restaurant and order some wine and just talk and enjoy being with her wife

And she pulls out all the stops for this, getting the best table, candles, expensive wine, nothing is too good for her wives

Plus its nice not to have to cook for a change, even though she does enjoy doing it

With Mac things are a little different

The fancy restaurants she enjoys going to don't have things that Mac would eat on their menu and she would hate to see her just sit there while she ate, so instead they do another date night classic, going to the movies

They don't get as dressed up, presenting a fun challenge to Chandler as she tries to find something that looks nice but also low-key enough to justify wearing to the movie theater

Her and Mac get a huge tub of popcorn to share that they never eat more than a third of

Thankfully they both like their popcorn the same way, smothered in butter

The first time Veronica went with the Heathers to a movie and saw the sheer amount of butter they were putting on their popcorn she became very concerned for their cholesterol levels

Duke gets her own little kiddy popcorn bc she cannot stand having that much butter

Chandler will get a Diet Coke, Mac a Sprite, plus they share some candy

As for the movie, they'll usually go see a comedy or some kind of animated movie

Neither of them are a fan of action, most romance movies are too heteronormative, historical films are too boring, and horror is a big no-go, so comedy is an easy choice

They usually sit at the very back of the theater and cuddle

Heather Duke:

Duke's love language (giving and receving) is quality time

Its a win-win situation, she loves spending time with her wives and they love spending time with her

Out of the four of them she spends the least amount of time at home

Her job can have long hours, and she's often the first to leave in the morning and the last to come home in the evening

As such, when she comes home she is antsy to see her wives

Often as soon as she comes through the door she'll make a beeline to wherever they are (usually the couch) and just collapse into a cuddle pile

And don't get her wrong she loves her job, it can just be stressful sometimes and the long hours get to her sometimes

Its nice to come home and just exist with people who care about her

She's also the one who came up with their weekly game night

Duke thought it would be fun to do something outside their normal routine, but also something the four of them could do together

She loves just being around them, but she also wants to actively do things with them

That culminated when one day when going through Mac's things she found her old Wii, the discovery of which saw Mac launch into story after story about her and Chandler playing on it when they were kids, and all of the times she was a sore loser when she managed to beat her

Chandler: "I AM NOT A SORE LOSER HEATHER"

Mac: "Sorry honey, but you are the biggest sore loser there is"

Chandler: "AM NOT"

Mac: "You got so angry when I beat you at Wii Bowling that you broke my Princess Peach remote"

Chandler: "We were kids, you know how kids are when they don't get what they want"

Duke: (To Veronica) "She was 17, I was there, Mac started crying and I had to comfort her"

That gave Duke the idea of them all playing it together

Surprisingly they all played, so they plugged in the Wii and started playing

Chandler's sore loserness became readily apparent when Veronica began dominating at Mario Party

She may have targeted Chandler at every oppurtunity, but that still didn't justify her throwing the remote into the wall

They don't only play video games, sometimes they'll do board games

One time they tried to play Monopoly

That somehow ended with Chandler setting the fucking board on fire

They stay away from extremely competitive games after that

Really, Duke just likes to hear the others laugh

Hearing them cheer or giggle whenever they come ahead in a game fills her with happiness

That's part of why she pulls so many pranks, not only is it funny in the moment but it also creates a hilarious memory to look back on and laugh about

As for her choices on date night, Duke prefers to go shopping

A weird choice for a date, but its what she wants to do

She takes each of her wives to a different place to accommodate for their tastes

With Chandler, they'll usually go to a boutique

They'll go in, browse the new selection, and maybe pick up a few new things

Really its just an opportunity to see the other dressed up all fancy and sexy

With Mac, they'll go a bit farther outside Sherwood to some speciality shops that have a bit more variety than what they can get in their small town

These shops get Japanese imports of Pokemon merch, something Mac goes crazy over

She's become very friendly with the owners, and they've even helped her place orders for some of the more limited and hard to find collectibles

With Veronica, they'll go everywhere

The girl loves to shop

They often spend an hour or more in the LEGO store with Veronica debating which stupidly expensive piece of plastic to get today

They'll go looking for the newly released funko pops, to the bookstore, to Gamestop so she can fuel her addiction I mean get more Pokemon Cards

They don't come back without the Jeep being full of random crap

But the dates aren't about the shopping, its just something to do while they talk

While driving or browsing or waiting to check out, Duke will take the time to just talk to her wives about whatever really

Its a nice opportunity to just catch up or geek out about a show they were watching or a book they've been reading or anything and everything in between

With her job she can't spend as much time with her wives as she would like, especially not one-on-one time, and this is a nice way for her to keep up with what's going on in their lives

Heather McNamara:

Her love language (giving and receiving) is physical touch

Mac fucking loves physical contact with her wives

She is pretty much touching at least one of them 24/7

Wether that be holding hands, cuddling on the couch, or even just touching legs under the table

Whenever the are sitting she'll scoot her chair or herself over to where her and one of the others are touching

Its really calming for her, whenever they touch she feels a lot more grounded and in the moment

This is important for when she has a meltdown, she needs that feeling to help bring her down from the hysteria and back to reality

Her wives know this, so when they see a meltdown coming or one in progress they know to give her a big hug and hold her tight

This doesn't means she likes to touch everyone however

Mac is really only ok with physical contact with her wives and her dad, if anyone else tries to she starts to freak out

One time JD gave her a pat on the back and she started to have a meltdown, she wasn't expecting to get touched at that moment and she was getting touched by someone who wasn't on her list of ok people

She also will avoid touching other people

She refuses to shake hands or give hi-fives or anything of the sort

Whenever a store clerk hands her a bag she makes sure their hands do not touch during the exchange

This does not apply to animals, if there is a creature she will pet it and she doesn't mind dogs jumping up on her or cats coming sit in her lap

Her favorite thing in the world is being in the middle when they go to bed

They bough a 4-person Alaskan King bed when they first moved in together and it took them a while to figure out the best way to sleep comfortably

Eventually they settled on having Chandler on one end, then Mac, then Duke, then Veronica

Mac absolutely insisted on being in the middle, because it would mean that she gets cuddled by two people every night

She sleep the best whenever she's held tight by her wives

Surprisingly she's not always the little spoon, most nights she is big spooning Duke while Chandler is her big spoon

She's also big on hand holding

If they go anywhere she's holding hands with at least one of them, preferably two

She laments that she doesn't have 3 hands so she can't hold hands with all of them at the same time

If she's having a bad day she'll hold onto someone's arm and rest her head on their shoulder, usually Chandler's

Its a habit she picked up from when she was young, whenever bullies would harass her she would do that to Chandler in hopes that it would help protect her

And you already know she gives out plenty of kisses

Its constant with her

Whoever is sitting next to her on the couch usually ends up getting peppered with kisses

Some would call her clingy, and to be honest she kind of is, but its not a "if I'm not touching my wives i'm going to have a panic attack", its a "I like to be touching at least one of my wives if able to do so"

For her dates, Mac likes to have fun

She can tolerate the occasional traditional date at a fancy restaurant, but most of the time she finds it to be too stuffy and uncomfortable

She instead likes to be out doing something where she can just enjoy herself and not worry about having to be fancy or follow some unspoken rules of etiquette

She'll take her wives out bowling (if not with Chandler, she wants to enjoy her date and not get kicked out after Chandler breaks something bc she got another gutter ball), or to the carnival if that's in town, or even to the zoo or aquarium

Admittedly the last two are more for her than her wives, but she justifies it saying that it's the zoo, everyone likes the zoo

Whenever the Renaissance Festival comes to Ohio she'll take Duke and Veronica on their weeks

Chandler complained about it being in the woods and bugs and snakes and mud and the others knew that she wouldn't have a good time

They'll dress up as witches and go around the fair, watching shows and throwing tomatoes at the guy who insults you

If she's looking for something a bit more low-energy, she might go see a movie or go take a walk in the park or even stay at home and play some games

When they go to the park she likes to feed the ducks

Problem is that the ducks now recognize her and swarm whenever they see her entering the park, looking for food

Duke, who she was with at the time, took a picture of Mac surrounded by about 20 ducks all looking expectantly at her and send it to the other two with the caption "Duck Lord"

The point is that she wants to be out and doing things

Dates are supposed to be fun and exciting and a chance to enjoy life with the people you love, and she embodies that with her choices

Veronica Sawyer:

Veronica's love language (giving) is words of affection

Unlike her wives she is very good with her words, something which she uses to her advantage

Veronica felt like there wasn't much she can do for them to show them how much she loved them

I mean, what can she do for the girls who have everything

She thought about just telling them, but that didn't feel good enough

After some internal deliberation, trying and failing to come up with some grand extravagant way to show her thankfulness, she settled on using her strengths and just saying thank you and that she loved them

To her shock, the Heathers were very receptive to this

She was worried that it wouldn't be enough, that they would think she was being cheap or unthoughtful or even unthankful, but they were really touched by what she had to say

She later found out that the Heathers, especially Duke and Chandler, had very rarely been told "I love you" making it mean more to them

After learning that, she makes sure that she tells each of them that she loves them at least once a day

Usually its closer to about 20 times a day but its at least 1 so it counts

She still feels like its not enough, buts its less of an omnipresent dread like it was

Whenever one of them has a bad day and wants to talk about it she's the one they turn to, because she's the best at listening and being able to reassure them that everything is going to be alright

Her love language (receiving) is receiving gifts

You should've seen this one coming

Veronica loves shopping, so its only natural that she loves it when her wives buy things for her

Besides the whole "I got thing I wanted", it makes her feel loved to know that her wives went out of their way to find something she would like, or saw something and thought about her and bought it, or even made something for her

Veronica wasn't very wealthy growing up, so getting a gift was an extra special treat for her, and even now that she's at a point where money will never be a concern for her she's never dropped the feeling of gifts being a special thing

The Heathers are more than willing to spoil her tho

She often comes home to a new book from Duke or some kind of collectible from Mac or a treat from Chandler, and the smile she gets is infectious

For her dates Veronica prefers something a little more relaxed

She agrees with Mac on the principle that dates shouldn't be about getting all fancy and that kind of stuff, but she also doesn't think they need to be about doing things

She really just wants to spend time with her wives

Thats why for her dates, she tries to introduce them to things she enjoys

The big one is anime

With Chandler, Veronica deduced that she would like mystery anime, for example Death Note, or something that managed to infiltrate her walls and hit her right in the feels, like Violet Evergarden

On the day they watched the later they cried so much that when Duke and Mac got home they thought somebody had died and became really concerned

With Duke, Veronica thought she would enjoy action anime, so they watched things like Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia

After watching the former Duke tried to get them to go as the Hashira for Comic Con but Chandler refused

With Mac, she knew that she would like cute fluffy yuri romance, such as I'm In love with the Villainess

Out of all of them Mac got the most into what Veronica showed her, and they even started finding new series to watch together

Chandler pretended to try and hate it but Veronica walked in on her reading yaoi Light/L fanfiction one day and she could no longer deny that she enjoyed it

She also tried to introduce them into her LEGO hobby (addiction) but none of them really got the appeal, Chandler complaining that she could step on the tiny pieces or one of their pets could eat them

And they all absolutely refused to get sucked into her Pokemon card addiction, even Mac who loves Pokemon wouldn't touch it after seeing how Veronica is with them

And Just a little bonus

Kids:

The Kid talk was something that the Heathers thought they didn't need to have

The three of them all agreed a long time ago that they didn't want kids, and they thought that they had had that talk with Veronica or mentioned it sometime and knew their opinion

But one day after their wedding Veronica brought up the subject, causing the three of them to get really confused

It turned out that Veronica wanted kids, and what followed was a deeply uncomfortable conversation for everyone

The Heathers quickly explained that they thought, no, they knew they would be terrible parents and had mountains of issues that they had a hard time dealing with and it wouldn't be right to bring a child into this world knowing that they would have parents who could barely take care of themselves, much less a child

Plus look at them, they were four women all married to each other in the middle of a very conservative part of Ohio, their hypothetical child would be harassed because of something they couldn't even control

And how would they even have the kid? They're all cis women so they can't have one in the normal way, they don't know any cis men who they would trust to do this, and even if they did IVF which one of them would carry the child?

Veronica tried to interject saying they could adopt, but Duke quickly replied, asking what agency would give a child to any of them

In the eyes of the law they are all single women with documented mental illnesses, someone would get fired for even suggesting to adopt to them

That realization hit Veronica like a truck and she told them that she was going for a walk, ignoring the calls for her to stay and how they could talk this out

She quickly found herself at 7/11, JD's habit of freezing your brain had really stuck with her

And who else should be there but the slush king himself, greeting Veronica with the usual 'Greetings and Salutations' before noticing the blank look on her face

JD paid for her slushie and took her outside to their usual talking spot

Veronica muttered, asking him if he just lived here or something

JD responded that he actually kinda did, he got a loan from Chandler to buy out this franchise meaning that he owns and manages this 7/11

She gives a small chuckle but hearing the name of one of her wives cuts it short

JD tells her that he knows something is up and that she has to talk about it, keeping shit in only makes it worse

She responded in a curt tone that the Heathers don't want kids

JD quickly picked up what was going on but could only say oh before taking another sip of his slushie

A few minutes pass by before JD speaks up again, asking her what she was going to do about this

Veronica gave a small I don't know before JD told her that she has two options here

One, she divorces the Heathers and tries to find someone who does want kids and she's compatible with

Veronica is quickly taken aback by this suggestion, saying that she doesn't want to do that

He then gives her the second option, learn to live with it

He says that there's no compromise that can be made here, and it doesn't look like they're gonna budge on it

She needs to choose which is more important to her, them or kids

Veronica then sighs and starts to think about it, but the choice is clear

She loves the Heathers more than anything or anyone, and thinking about it she knew they were right, there was no ethical way for them to have a child in their lives, not with the kind of lifestyle they had and in the area they lived in

Kids are just not on the cards for her

The realization hurts, and she sits on that curb and cries, mourning the child that she knows she will never have

Once she finishes crying, she actually feels better about the situation

It occurs to her that she never really thought about kids until the wedding, mostly because most people she knew had kids after their wedding, so was there ever any real desire to have kids or was she just conforming to societal norms about life?

Thinking about it she knew she did want kids, but it wasn't an end-all be-all and she realized that she could live a life without a kid, but she couldn't live one without the Heathers

Plus getting pregnant sounded like it sucked, and she would probably be the one who had to carry the child, Chandler keeps the house running and it would fall apart without her supervision and Duke and Mac both have jobs, while she could work from bed if she had to

Maybe she's just coping with a sucky situation, but above all else she knew that she would choose the Heathers over a kid 100% of the time, she would just have to live with that choice

And in all honesty, she knew she would be all right, she just needed some time

ok i played tokyo debunker all day here is a quick (not really) review

first off gameplay is for the most part non-existent. you do fight against monsters but the entire thing is in autoplay and you can skip the whole thing by pressing a single button

there is a rhythm game part every like 10 battles or so though which made me happy. even if the songs are all public domain ones. and it's extremely offbeat. and there's tap registration issues.

ok next why does tokyo debunker use ai art in it. genuinely embarrassing.

went on a 4 year hiatus to "elevate the quality of the game to further meet your expectations and be able to face elevating competition in the gaming industry" only for the game to release and not even have the effort put in to hire actual artists... ITS SO DISAPPOINTING what was the point of that hiatus if you aren't even gonna try. they should've released the original game they had at this point

ai art is used in all the backgrounds of the visual novel section and some of the interactable items like the images for the quiz you do during the prologue. The manga style and card art don't use it at all it seems though

and once you realize it you cannot unsee it and it completely ruins everything

seems like all the budget went towards the voice actors because the game has no original soundtrack either. everything is remixed classical music.

not to mention the game is super cash grabby. it's a zigzagame game so it's to be expected but still. stuff like having to pay more than a 10 pull just to be able to change your icon from the default one is actually insane. also 1% SSR rate and pity is at 500 pulls and it doesn't even guarantee a character card it could be a warding card please end it all!!!

also the devs are blocking everyone who criticizes the game on twitter. lol. lmao.

despite all that the story is interesting and i really like the characters especially these 2 guys i love the "medic who definitely shouldn't be a medic because they are Extremely Off and have committed medical malpractice atleast 10 times" type of characters they are always my favorite

damn you "bad gacha game that makes me have to resort to watching youtube videos of the story because i don't wanna support monetarily it in any possible way and go through the pain it brings by actually playing it".... you have won once again

Over the past few days, I have taken it upon myself to rewatch the Madagascar movies for my lovely F/O, Gloria. And…I have thoughts.

IMHO, the first movie is the best one and I will forever die on that hill. I wasn’t too impressed with the second one, but the third one? That was something else. IDK, it just felt a little too “corporate” for me, if you catch my drift. It felt much more like a cash grab than the previous two movies, that’s for sure.

But there’s one thing that stuck out to me like a sore thumb in the last two movies, and that’s the canon pairing between Gloria and Melman.

I swear to God I’m not biased, but here’s the thing. Gloria had a TON of time to shine on her own in the first movie, and that’s partially why it’s my favorite of the Madagascar movies. But for 2 and 3, she didn’t really have a focus by herself, instead her time is focused on her and Melman. IDK, it just detracts from her character a bit? Maybe? And honestly, the ship felt so forced in those movies. Like, there was literally nothing about it in 1 and all of a sudden Melman had always liked her? Maybe there’s more to the story, but that’s what it felt like. (We hardly had any solo character stuff in 3 now that I think about it.) If y’all catch my drift any.

But that’s just my opinion. I could be dead wrong, but…yeah.

It’s OK to not like some of the stuff your F/O is featured in. Hell, you really, REALLY don’t have to like ALL canon F/O content. But selfshipping provides a way to sort-of “rewrite” canon, and that’s a power that every selfshipper should learn how to use. I talked about this with some friends, and one of them said: “Canon is a suggestion, not a rule.” And I think that’s really important to keep in mind.

So yeah. Those are my thoughts. If they are indeed valid thoughts to have.

I want to end this post by saying that Gia was one of the only things I liked about 3:

I’m considering making her a secondary F/O, actually. She’s very pretty, I wish we had more solo scenes of her. (Or anyone else besides Vitaly, that’s perhaps my biggest gripe with this movie…)

This may be a dumb question and I’m gonna guess the answer is no because you run a fandom account lol, but does working behind the scenes of Sunny ruin the “magic” of it? I hope this makes sense lol

iv sort of answered this b4 but n a way i think it truly REVIVED the magic for me

if i worked on seasons from the iasip golden era id probs feel differently, and i lamented many many times over the years that i thought i could never work on sunny without ruining it for myself, but w th way th cards fell, i was already kind of on my way out of my hyperfixation on sunny by th time i got th job

i didnt love s13 and then s14 was v much like the final nail n th coffin nd my enjoyment rly faltered there, some stuff i liked but by n large i was like 'ok sunnys kind of over for me.'

before s13 it was more 'i love this season, except for 1 or 2 episodes" and after it became "i dont like this season, except for 1 or 2 episodes"

then, out of the blue getting to work on s15, even tho its still not one of my fave seasons, brought my love back in a completely new way. being able to interact with the cast and crew is magical on its own, and theres a level of pride that cuts through i guess? like 'yeah i remember this day. this day was hard. and now theres an entire episode out! and people liked it!'

theres also a disconnect with what i see happen at work and what actually airs. there are moments, sure, where i suddenly realize i know whats going to happen, but by and large im just as surprised as anyone else by the direction they take the editing. i also like to avoid reading the scripts we get and just let myself be confused. i truly still get to see episodes for the first time like you guys and i still get excited to find out wtf theyr about to do, its not unlike piecing together things seen in promos

like idk, @ th end of the day, everyone is just so nice, and ive met some of my literal favorite people on this earth on that job, and seeing the care and love that goes into what they're doing is an unmatched experience of my life and made me rly appreciate the show even more. rcg and the rest of the cast have all been so welcoming to me, and i love my camera team and th whole crew so much and cant believe how well we get on....im incredibly lucky

Thoughts on Indigo park chapter 1

Spoiler warning under the cut!

Alright guys so today I played Indigo park chapter 1 with my friend @theroseofazrael. And I wanted to give my thoughts on it along the way basically! Warning again spoilers for chapter 1!

Right of the bat I wanna say that this is coming from somone who watched it first and someone who played it after. So you could say I have at least 2 things to go off by

Putting this in multiple parts

Part 1: entrance

So the beginning. first of all intro cutscene was really well made and amazing to look at! Getting right put into the game, meeting Rambly for the first time was nice! (Also fun fact I did the math around the 2920 days guest absents and it's 8 years!) I liked him alot! He is cute and sweet! Love his animations and I hope he doesn't turn out evil (or at least not the AI) So we open the door with a simple puzzle and I am glad it is really just like a kind of walking simulator! Going in we are getting our critter cuff, and I was so sure in the playthrough I watched that there was one of the mascots inside the shop!

with the critter cuff around our wrist we now walk into the park and when I first saw the statue I immediatly thought "Is this a disney reference"! I liked it! going throught the tunnel and it collapses behind us. I would say I actually kinda liked that! I find it sometimes a bit more realistic if something old collapses right behind someone than it already having collapsed! Also the tunnel kinda reminded me a bit of a tunnel from my favorite theme park which I found funny!

also on a side note: I love how Rambly still tries to make this abandoned theme park sound more like that it is under construction. Deniel is a river in egypt!

part 2: The train ride

While it still plays a bit in the tunnel I put it with the train ride! Walking through the que line really helps the feeling of This was really a theme park! And while I didn't see it on my playthrough (at least I think I missed it) on SHB I saw like the tail feathers of Mollie already giving an uneasy feeling but was also a bit foreshadowing in a sense. Anyways when I was in the call with my friend, Rambly told me I would be too old for this ride and I literally said "well fuck you then". This was also still at the time where I did not realize Azra was not watching my stream, because my game crashed at the beginning and I booted it up again but forgot to stream it at the time (I honestly believe it has nothing to do with the game and more about me having too much stuff open at the time!)

Anyways we load up onto the train and off we go on our first ride! This was a very sweet introduction to the cast, and felt natural for a theme park! Meeting Mollie first I loved that introduction. I like her opimistic character as they talked (which I found also really cool that Rambly interacted with the cast during the ride!) What I didn't noticed until a bit later, down there was a door where you could see Mollie "spying" on us! I just saw how the door closed but it gave me the impression that she stalked us during the entire ride or she was like "looking around" and basically found out there is someone!

Then we get to Finleys underwater space and the entire time I was looking around if I could find Mollie somewhere again (I unfortunatley didn't see her anywhere). But then Finley say "you know me for 100 years" and Imma get this right off the bat, Mollie later on says this! I go deeper in this later on!

Then we get to a really destroyed place which thinking about it is weird! Every other place was ok looking, almost in tip top shape but this one was quiet literally ruined! It is open for alot of theories I believe, since this one was probably Salems place! it is up to you guys what this was! So off we go to repair the electricity finding a Mollie animatronic! It says one last thing about Rambly hurt Llloyd! Now this one gives me the impression that Rambly is more evil but also later on with Lloyd there is a scene that plays out. And I believe that there is more to the cuff/ the system in the park than we thought

Anyways we boot up the train again and carrie on! Next and last one is Lloyd. Here we see the first time the total distaste for Lloyd from our Raccoon! now considering how Rambly and Lloyd interact, this might be just his AI programm but throught the game, expecially the collectables, it is more to believe that this dislike isn't really programmed! So maybe that part, wasn't meant to be in a annoyed way? only time will tell! But also I knew this one from tik tok but at the end of this interaction, looking to the left shows Mollie like literally by our side coming from the courtains! I will talk about a thought when we get there!

Going out we are at the gift shop of the ride. And here I noticed that in one of the cameras we can see Molluie running after the train! We see multiple empty trains in those photos and then one in the middle with Mollie running! I believe that would have been our photo! considering all other photos are empty seats, it makes the most sense. And with mollie always popping up during the ride now and then! Now this one is more a theorie but I imagine that this photo was taken during Salems part! Maybe Mollie was chasing us, the train was just faster, and when it broke down and we went out to fix it, maybe she caught up! Then she saw we weren't there and maybe thought we ran ahead? this is really just what I have thought about this than really being a theory! Anyways i was pointing the picture out to Azra and here I noticed how stupid I was

I noticed after they told me, there was no stream, that I forgot to stream it! These entire first minutes, they did not see what I saw while I stupidly pointed out things you can only see! oTL anyways moving on to part 3!

part 3: the central area and Lloyds theater

Putting these 2 together cause I find them rather short in a way! First of going down the stairs and seeing the entire area + working and I believe opperating ferris wheel! I told to Azra that as a kid or even now that I would have gone there! I just hope they also have rollercoaster tbh! I like the adrenalin! I found the fountain actually really funny, being able to rotate like this while spitting water! Noone was save against the water! we also get to the information kiosk and to the collectables! I found it nice that we got more info about them through Rambley and expecially through our protagonist which there is one thing!

At the beginning Rambly tells us that we are a new comer/ are not in the guest data base, but looking at the descriptions it is made very clear we were in this park multiple times! I believe either, children weren't like allowed to be in the guest data base because well they were children! or because we aged and with age faces change, the face recognition didn't pick up on us!

And another thing. As I said before Rambly seems to really dislike Lloyd and with the plushies, expecially the last one we get (and old cartoon version of Lloyd) it says that Lloyd was the most popular one apperantly! or at least the company was more focused on the Lion than the Raccoon! So I believe the resentment shows that Rambly is a bit more sentient than it looks like!

Moving on, Rambly wants to bring us to the Jetstream junction but unfortunatly we need a key! And that key was in Lloyds theater. getting acess to it, we go inside! seeing the theater was really pretty! and on stage we see a sleeping Lloyd who wakes up and running away. now I wanna adress that because I feel like that they aren't really out to hurt us! after the key and getting through the section (where even if I know nothing would happen, I still anticipated it) only then when we tried to go, did he really came close enough to grab us! and that one time in the middle where he was squished under a box! And honestly i think it was also because he was like put into a croner and didn't see another way!

Here is also a funny thing because technically speaking you can get this anytime when you turn around away from the backstage area we see again Mollie! Some had it at the beginning I had it after the area and honestly I feel like it is more impactful when it is after the area!Anyways we got the key and off to Mollies place!

part 4: Jetstream junction

Now this place was really fun! We go up to rooftop racing adn are greeted with rumble having fallen onto the ride destroying it! Now I felt it was unfair we only get to ride one thing so far in the entire park! Anyways we go downstairs again and to the landing pad! or rather we should go there but off to the side is a little drinking area with an arcade machine! We can play it and it is a typical oldschool platformer! This is also where we meet Salem for the first time basically! Many also belive that this has more story relevence than it looks like. Also we get like a pixalated Ramblyberry but I think that is more an easter egg than it being exactly "canon".

Anyways we now enter the landing pad which is like a really REALLY big playground area! and we got a interesting puzzle here! simple to understand. We have blocks and need to figure out the the right combination! Easy to understand thanks to the purple block and the purple star besides it! So power goes out and we walk through the entire playground, finding all shapes and the colors to it! And guess what Mollie is with us! She is often very cose to us but never really attacks us! until after we solved the puzzle! We get our first chase in the game and the only one in chapter 1!

I died only 2 times! first time I was not expecting her to come from the front and second time I didn't knew where to jump! but overall I liked the chase! it was easy to follow and had only one moment that I thought "ARE YOU FUCKING ME?! an it is the collectable during the chase! it's not hard to see but dang I held to step back one time to get it and my adrenaline was so high holy shit!

And the ending was wow. So like I felt like with the head off it felt different than I saw on SHB. Maybe it was becuase of the pure adrenaline but I felt like they fixed the timing of when it happens! Cause with Mike I felt like the timing of the head or the distance of the jump too was weird! but maybe it was always like this. And during all of this me and Azra just went "damn she is bleeding alot" not exactly listening to Rambly saying anything about the park and stuff! But it does make me wonder what happened to the staff and expecially WHY WAS THERE FRESH LOOKING BLOOD ON BOTH MOLLIE AND LLOYD?!

Anyways we leave and soon make our way to Ocean Odyssey and I notice that is Nordic themed ! (loves it!) and after seeing a big Finley coming out there ends chapter 1!

Finally thoughts

I really enjoyed it! I don't play often horror games... actually rewrite that I never played horror games and this was my first time! gameplay wise, there were a few nitpicky things but that was their first game and for that alone this deserves a major Star because it is really good! and story wise, it got me hooked! we got enough information for anticipation withouthaving all to much said, only leaving us wondering!

Anyways can't wait for chapter 2 and see ya!

Ok, I have never participated in one of these before, in spite of being on tumblr for like a third of my life lol, so bare with me please! I have no doubt this is going to be long and rambley! When I saw your tags on this asks meme I was like “What do you mean you don’t have a worthy fic output??? You have a million excellent fics out there?” and was earnestly shocked when I went over to ao3 and saw that you only had 10 Magicians fics. Now let me be clear, I am using the word “only” in the absolute LOOSEST sense, because as someone with a seemingly endless stack of wips constantly piling up in my docs who has never completed and posted anything longer than 8k, your treasure trove of masterpieces which include multiple fics in the double digit thousands is astoundingly impressive to me!!! But! I have re-read a few of your fics so many times that my brain has just a bunch of instances logged where I saw your name and went “mental note: one of the best writers in the Magicians fandom, part of the ultra cool club, maybe I should hold off on going through everything they’ve ever written right this very second so that I will have more from them to read on a rainy day.” So basically, the sheer awesomeness of your writing totally tricked me into not realizing that I have actually only read like 4 or 5 of your fics, and they dominated my brain enough to seem like a whole fandom’s worth. So um, with that in mind! I’ll actually ask the asks now lol

My favorite fic of yours

It is TIGHT, but I think I have to go with “just a touch of your love is enough” because that one permanently rewrote my brain chemistry and pretty much single handedly made start like a bunch of wips revolving around the concept of Quentin and Eliot being two people who were pretty ok with being in poly and open relationships until they went STUPID over each other. I’ve re-read it… maybe 5 times?

My favorite chapter in my favorite fic of yours

To my growing shame, I am realizing that I have been saving your multichap fics this whole time. I read parts 1 and 2 of your ‘evolve’ series tho, and while I struggle to differentiate between the amazingness of Quentin’s POV vs Mike’s POV, I really really just loved the way part one closed out? I lovedddd the outsider POV of watching the Queliot sex matter more than any other sex either of them has ever had, and I really adored the gentle leaving of Mike – a little bitter but mostly just mature – telling Q not to let Eliot go.

The best character you’ve written for

You simply cannot make me choose between Eliot and Quentin here; you write both of them so distinctly and so well!!!

As I’m sure you can tell by now, this ask is extremely biased toward the Magicians. I’m sure all your other fics are equally excellent, but I found you through the Magicians and you were one of the people instrumental in me fixating on the Magicians for the past… idk. Something I remember vividly from reading one of your fics

Oh no, there are way too many options crashing in my brain for this one at once! Um! I think I have to chicken out and go a little more general: the way you write Quentin and Eliot’s interactions with each other just ticks all my boxes for them. The thing that always really sticks with me is how you do such a great job mixing and balancing them bantering with each other and genuinely being friends who like each other and spending time together, and the soul-crushingly intense romantic feelings they have for one another, the deeply painful, star bright pining! You are so good at blending those two components so seamlessly together, even in a single conversation, and I always when reading your fics am beset with that very specific feeling when every sentence you next read is EXACTLY the sentence you want to be reading, because the characters are so well drawn.

What made me the most emotional after reading

You have such a knack in your writing for showing just HOW MUCH Quentin and Eliot love each other. I’m always blown away and enraptured by it. The moments that have made me the most emotional are the ones that highlight how almost tragic the intensity of that love is. Quentin in the very funny and very hot ‘they ain’t got a clue (can’t love me like you do)’ thinking how mean it is for Eliot to be hot around him, and Eliot’s desperation in “just a touch of your love is enough” to just make Quentin happy the whole time no matter what. You do an excellent excellent EXCELLENT job of depicting their love as borderline tortuous without it crossing the line over into something unhealthy, and it destroys me every time without fail.

What I like the most about your writing

In addition to your killer characterization, your excellent banter and comedy, your really truly perfect smut writing skills for both the hot and the tender (and weaving plot and character into the sex scenes in an impeccable way that always keeps my ace-spec ass LOCKED in) I just really love all the minutia of your like sentence structure and rhythm and all that good stuff. Your writing style pulls me right along in such a way that I often forget I am reading and not just injecting the story directly into my veins, but every time I emerge from the pools of my delight it is to notice something like “ooo, that was just some really solid prose right there”. I love your stuttering staccato period usage when you are writing from Quentin’s pov, the way you use your sentence structure, rhythm and grammar to emphasize the character.

A fic i’m excited for you updating/posting

Alright I categorically DO NOT want to make you feel pressured or bad about your unfinished works. Again, I have a million wips I haven’t started posting yet, and just in general I have lost interest in some of my works before and know how complicated that can feel, so I really don’t want to bring up any of your pieces without knowing if that is welcome or if you have lost interest in them. hello!!! i confess i have been putting off answering this just because once i did it would obviously vanish from my inbox, and it is genuinely one of the most thoroughly, generously detailed thoughts on my fic i have ever received, in over a decade of this little hobby. i'm genuinely so floored you would take the time to respond to this based off a little tag comment i made (that i did indeed make bc i know some amazing magicians' fic authors who have such profilic, sprawling output). i'm gonna save this and look at it whenever i have doubts that anyone cares if i continue with my little magicians fics, which i do intend to do! i tend to chip away at them every few months, coo over how much i love quentin and eliot, and then move on, but i will put something substantial out there one day i promise.

definitely 'show a little faith', or thanksgiving fic as it's known in my head, is the primary victim of my fic pecking. i have the outline etc in my head it's just getting it out there on paper, as it were.

similar, the q as margo's assistant AU, written for best girl @coldbam and i have to give credit: was her idea in the first place. she had said she wished someone wrote something like it, and for that reason it was more of a burst of something i wrote to have something to give nicole on her birthday that year given our tragically perpetual long-distance friendship, and the story beats were a bit more nebulous. BUT it was really fun and i had enough direction that i could go back to it (and many notes on ideas for scenes, many of them run by nicole on the phone to ensure they aligned with her ~vision).

there's a few longer WIPs/ongoing ideas that aren't on ao3 at all, but very much exist in fits and starts of writing and EXTENSIVE notes lmao, as is my way.

an AU where q is a TA/professor, and eliot and margo went to fillory prior to quentin enrolling and now he is an advisor who has to go back to take a class for reasons (they need a minor mending spell for some kind of kingdom reason; margo is king here). the idea came about just bc i'll be honest, professor/student pairings aren't totally my thing but i think eliot would get a lot of horny mileage out of it, especially bc q would be like "stop that's problematic!!!" (while also horny secretly). age gaps aren't also super my thing but especially eliot and q being only a year or so apart is very important to their dynamic to me also, hence q only being a TA or a very new professor at that (with maybe eliot and margo being in fillory for a few years at that point).

oh man, the fic lovingly titled 'fillory boy AU' that got so so much attention in my group chat with nicole above and beloved @kenshivshow. it's a similar concept to @hmgfanfic's INCREDIBLE fic, where q is a boy from fillory and eliot marries him instead of fen, but mine is a lot sillier and hornier and much less sprawling and impressive. i love it a lot and it has a lot of it written.

my favourite one to write is such a hard question. i am a corny loser who genuinely loves writing all fic bc otherwise i wouldn't do it. but:

just a touch of your love is enough was my first big bang so i gotta give that a shout out, plus the amazing art by @lu-does-eurovision!

they ain't got a clue (can't love me like you) gave me the chance to write a plotline from probably my favourite show, grey's anatomy, and i also managed to get it all out in a weekend bc i was so inspired. a thrilling feeling i will continue to chase forever!

again thank you so much, this message made my day when i got it and made my days over and over when i would go back to it. i'm really honoured and grateful!

f;lajdfa ok i'm so sorry it took me a whole-ass month to get to this. it got stuck partially drafted in a tab and then my computer crashed and i just...forgot to pull it up again. so here it is now. i hope you're having a good morning/afternoon/night!

1. If Sybille was a cryptid what would she be?

oooooooh if she were a cryptid, she'd probably be a rougarou: a creature from cajun and creole folklore that's a north american variant of the french loup garou (werewolf). in cajun and creole folklore it stalks the swamps, sugar cane fields, and woodlands around new orleans. i can't imagine a cryptid/supernatural universe where she isn't either a witch or a werewolf. she has a lot of rage and fear that she suppresses and i love that manifesting in her becoming an angry animal. she deserves to have a girls night every full moon and rip people to shreds.

2. What is her favorite thing about Jacob and what’s Jacob’s favorite thing about her?

aaahhhh i love this question this is a good question. syb's favorite thing about jacob is that he Understands™. similar trauma in the eldest child traumatized by a shitty father to further traumatized war veteran pipeline and all that. she doesn't need to sanitize her language or herself about anything. she's comfortable with him, and she can't say that about very many people.

jacob would say that his favorite thing about syb is her strength. which is to say his favorite thing(s) are her perseverance and tenacity and the way she just keeps putting one goddamn foot in front of the other. but actually it's her humor, her foul language, how she dishes his bullshit right back to him. she surprises him. keeps him on his toes. she fights and pushes back against him. she challenges him and loves that about her so much.

3. If all four Seeds + Sybille got trapped in a bunker together, what do you think would happen?

af;lkasjfda;lsfdjk ok well, even tho syb has already drank the kool-aid by the time she goes into a bunker, first i can guarantee it starts with syb demanding to do the duct-tape-line-splitting-the-bunker-in half thing. she gets one half, the seeds get the other. john immediately starts arguing that because there are four of them, they should actually get 4/5ths the square footage of the bunker. and then jacob has to cut him off because this--the arguing--is exactly why she's demanding a bit more space.

after that it's a lot like the old "introduce your new pet to the old one through a closed door" trick, they learn to...co-habitate. she grows accustomed to their presence in her every day life and occasionally even has pleasant interactions with them. and while she would have her insomnia talks with jacob while the others are asleep (both of them on their respective sides of the tape), eventually the self-imposed isolation gets to her. she'll hear the seeds in the other room doing a puzzle or playing a board game (or whatever means of entertainment is available in the bunker)to pass the time and she gets stuck in the hallway just. watching them. but it isn't until faith reaches over the barrier, takes her by the hands, and drags her into the room to join them. she's family now, whether she likes it or not

i think they're still a little culty in their family dynamics in that joseph is definitely the patriarch of the unit but everyone relaxes a little bit. all the things they've been preparing for has come to pass and now all that's left to do is wait until it's safe to resurface. they get a little weird, as you would expect being stuck together for years on end. but they're more normal than they could be.

joseph officiates a wedding between her and jacob so that they can "share a bed without sin" and they have their own little corner of the bunker where they sleep. she opens up more to joseph about her own relationship/feelings about God and that's something they talk about a lot (i genuinely think joseph would be interested in syb's catholic perspective).

she and faith go through very painful and sweaty cold turkey withdrawals/detoxes together (faith from the bliss and syb from her cigs) and they lean on each other for comfort/support through that.

and...well...i don't think she and john ever really come to like each other, but she does reluctantly come to regard him as her annoying, shitty, little brother (-in-law). they bicker constantly and sometimes fights break out (and joseph/jacob have to put them in time-out on other sides of the bunker). but every now and then, they have their moments. just not often.

Yumemizuki Mizuki Anecdote Part 1 + 2 Discussion

Question for anybody, is there seriously no Part 3 of the anecdote? I was fully expecting more after Part 2... does it really just end with that kind of ableist thinking?

Mizuki and Layla are two of my favorite characters, but so much of Mizuki is really the idea of a psychiatrist/therapist and not an actual one. Of course she is going to use dream-based thinking because she is a dreameater yokai, but aside from that there was just so much of her interaction with Layla that I simply went "oh ok so she has no idea what she is talking about." Of course, I still really like Mizuki, so my gripes on this dialogue are mainly directed to Hoyoverse: I just don't understand why such a big company can't seem to educate themselves properly on the correct language to use on dissociative identity disorder. Yes, I know they're leaning more towards the "second personality" trope, however it is legitimately frustrating to see how Layla and Sleepwalking Layla have a positive relationship, and yet other characters seem to take it as abnormal or something that needs to be fixed.

I had hoped that Part 3 of the anecdote was locked because I hadn't done Yae Miko's anecdote, and in Part 3 Miko, Mizuki, Layla, and Sleepwalking Layla would interact. Their interactions with one another are some of my favorites in the game (of course, since they're in my top 5 characters), so I am a bit disappointed that I was not able to see more of their dynamic. Since my hopes and dreams (haha) have not been fulfilled, I will probably make my own little fanfic on ao3 that would also be a rewrite of the anecdotes. Of course, I am no psychiatrist myself and am no expert on DID, but I hope I can at least give Layla's system some degree of justice in my portrayal.

In other words..., Hoyoverse! Don't be ableist with your characters! It's frustrating! But of course, my expectations were at zero because of *looks at the long list of things that Hoyoverse has done wrong* and yet I still find myself disappointed.

It was still nice to see more of "Slayla" and her confidence and poise. I would love to see more of her and I found it very humorous how she shut down so many of Mizuki's questions. At the end of the day, she cares so much for Layla and isn't harmful to her whatsoever, aside from leaving them both physically exhausted at times, but that is not done with the purpose of hurting Layla. I don't know, I just love them so much and I look forward to future content with them. And hopefully they bring back all the fungi because I am getting cuteness withdrawals and I need to see my babies back.

Season 2- Voltron Rewatch

I absolutely binged this season in two days, I feel like I’m injecting this show into my veins. I was sewing though, I was being productive while I watched it.

Anyway this season was a lot better than season 1, there still is the pacing problem which I feel will continue cause just how short the seasons are. 7 eps I saw is one season…Again bring back 20 eps seasons!!!! This season was such a Keith and Shiro season which is fine because I like them alot. They both get more fleshed out more and feel like a well rounded character. Allura as well gets some character growth which I’ll get into in a second. From the first episode I already liked the season more. We see Keith and Shiro actually act like siblings in the way they interact with each other which in contrast in the first season we got a hug in the first ep and that’s that. It’s nice to actually show that they have a closer relationship with each other than anyone else in the group. Like in the last ep everyone is running to the hanger to see if Shiro is ok and Keith is the one running the fastest looking the most concerned. It’s little stuff like that actually makes me go yeah their brothers.

Space Mall and The Blade Marmora were my favorites this season. Space Mall being a more chill romp where there was not a life threatening event happening. I though the B and C plot where also fun. Shiro connecting with the Black Lion and Allura doing silly stuff with the mice.

I also really like this one random characters design, like it’s such a cute design. The Blade of Marmora was the Keith ep, him learning who he truly is. He’s willing to put his life on the line to know the secrets the Blade was withholding. Keith and Shiro are my favorite to watch fight so an ep where Keith is fighting for the most of it is an A+

They do this thing towards the end of the season where they recap the last two seasons. They act as if it’s been a longtime and as a viewer I felt not a lot of time past because of how quick the show is. Shiro is like yeah we won’t need Voltron anymore and it’s kinda stupid because from what I’ve seen they haven’t been doing the whole the saving the universe thing very long. I

The last ep was just fighting and that’s fine, I’m watching show about a giant mech I wanna watch them fight in that mech. So when Zarkon uses a mech as well, it was great because again I’m a sucker for mech fights. Also the animation really popped off during the fight. I was devastated when Thace died cause I don’t know why but I really liked him for like his zero screentime.

Characters

Shiro: Again like I said, he feels more fleshed out this season. I enjoy seeing him not being like just the serious leader, but also caring and brotherly. Not just with Keith but we him be a brother like figure to Pidge. He also loses cool with Slav, snapping at him. It’s funny and again just shows more of him. One thing I didn’t say about him in the first season is I don’t get Shiro’s hair. Like why is there just a tuff of long hair and then the rest is super short. I might be missing something but I just don’t get it.

Hunk: Not a lot changes with his character this season, he becomes more of a comedic relief character which in my opinion isn’t bad. Like he isn’t hilarious with some of the stuff he says but it’s not unbearable and most of the one liners are quickly moved on from. I like in Space Mall, we see him take charge of the kitchen. I like that his thing is that he like to cook, it’s cute.

Pidge: Her character again feels the same, she gets her moments to shine and forms a deeper connection with her lion. Her whole thing is she is a tech nerd but it’s done not in an annoying way where she has an ego or anything. With Pidge we are still following her as she tries to find her brother, I’m excited to rewatch it as it unfolds.

Coran: he’s still silly and goofy. I do really like we get to see him be more of a fatherly figure to Allura, which I love those types of dynamics between characters

Allura: I love her! She gets an arc this season that I thought was done well. When Keith gets revealed to be Galra, she of course struggles with that because Galra Empire took everything from her. The way it’s done is that unlike other shows where someone might be like oh you should apologize or talk to him, she just does it on her own. She realizes that she was wrong to judge Keith or think less of him because of who he is and she voices that to him, giving him an explanation on why she acted the way she did but still apologizes. Keith and her hug which was super cute and it reminded me how little I see platonic displays of affection between women and men in media. I love her interactions with the mice, it’s super adorable. She kicks massive ass in the last episode and that was hype, we stan a woman who is can be prim and proper and then kick ass. Gee I hope nothing bad happens to her

Keith: This was his season!!! We got more to his character, instead of just broody guy who can fight, we get someone who is struggling to figure out who they are and finding a place to belong. The reason why I liked this change so much is because it’s an easy thing to relate to and so as the viewer you want him to figure out the piece of himself he missing. Him figuring out he is Galra unlocks the next part of his character arc which he even says which is finding out more about his family. Keith is still reckless and acts about the same as season one but seeing his vulnerability makes him feel like a well rounded character. Seeing his dad was interesting and it showed how important his dad is to him. I was shocked by the southern accent I will say. Like I knew he was from Texas but I did not remember Keith’s dad with a southern accents. They should have given Keith one tbh. I learned that he is not canonically Korean but Keith is canonically Asian just not specified. In my eyes he’ll always be Korean though. Like everyone has a canon ethnicity while his is literally half human half Galra. I just don’t get it.

Lance: I’m waiting….I’m waiting for something to happen with him like he had stayed the exact same from ep 1 of s1 except for in Escape from Beta Traz we see a glimpse of some insecurity. He questions his place in Voltron, he feels he isn’t on par with everyone else. Unless I missed something this is the only time we see him not being well..him since the last when he talks about missing home. His insecurity isn’t even a main focus of the episode it’s so small that it’s “solved” also within the ep. Lance makes a good shot then Shiro praises him. I’m not saying he isn’t still insecure, Lance is insecure I feel would not be a big of a tag on ao3 if this one a one episode sort of thing. But from just watching the episode appears like oop my problems are solved. I’m sure we’ll get plenty of Lance insecurity in the upcoming seasons, or at least I hope. He is funnier this season thankfully, I actually laughed a few times. I wanna make it apparent Lance has been one of my all time favorite characters for years. I just don’t remember much of the show, my perception of him for the last couple years has been all fanon content.

Klance: Very little Klance action this season. Keith and Lance barely interacted except for when they got stuck in elevator. Which was fun, I like their interactions but it was very sparse this season. Everyone was paired up for missions and they never were together. I’m curious what started the craze of them because there is not a whole lot to go off of in the first two seasons. I watched the show as it was coming out but I was pretty young so I didnt have social media till basically the show was ending. So I don’t really know how this ship got so popular so quick, I know some stuff but I don’t know if that all there is to it.

I’m scared to continue only because I know what lies ahead.
