i had been meaning to scry/post the dungeon meshi main cast for a while. i figured in honor of the manga's final chapter would be a good occasion

design notes:

𝟣. laios touden:

outfit inspired by fr user Rafale's laios fandragon

ravenskull broadsword bc it has wings like his sword

tundra + antique secondary/tert, like falin (siblings)

2. marcille donato:

ruby runes to represent: her magic, her red hair bow, bloody hands when she was resurrecting falin

will o' the ember for her explosion spells

iridescent primary for her elven heritage + penchant of fancy things

3. chilchuck tims:

veined tert to represent his greying hairs

i debated between the gambeson (closer texture) VS tanned rogue vest (overall closer colors) for him, but ended up going for the gambeson as it feels more distinct

camo secondary for a "camo = stealthy" joke

[edit: 1 feb 2024] i think my screen had the Flux settings too high before and i thought his shirt was beige. its actually white, so i changed his shirt from a shabby to classy dress shirt.

4. senshi of izganda:

bamboo dried tea to represent his cooking supplies

unfortunately none of the helm apparel had the right colors for his helmet, so i opted for tan okapi to represent his helm's horn colors

i wanted to include the iron shield apparel for his adamantine shield/pot, but it wouldve covered up his kilt, so i left it out

[edit: 1 feb 2024] changed primary from ribbon to chrysocolla, an earthy gene to match his past as a miner. changed tert color slightly to match better. also gave him carrots

5. izutsumi:

initially i tried nocturne and spiral, but the armour pieces looked too short on them, so i ended up going for mirror instead

i also tried the tanned rogue apparels, but they covered up too much of the torso

wooly antennae for her ears

6. falin touden:

marshlurker's drape to represent her coat, bc there wasnt a lot of suitable coats, and the more purple-y hue (and hat) also references her debut outfit

sparkle tert to represent her magic

tundra + antique secondary/tert, like laios (siblings)

[edit: 1 feb 2024] edited her primary to be more purplish, since the animes confirmed her coat is supposed to be more indigo colored, and gave her browner boots. also edited her reference photo coat color to match it too

7. falin (chimera):

i chose to make the touden siblings both tundras, so that chimera falin could be a gaoler (based on the joke gaolers are just tundra 2.0)

Multigaze bab got the right colours, but wrong primary gene (should be chevron). Think the tert is the closest I got to the final result (wanted eggplant, got midnight) i guess sibling and parents will be put for sale now.

I've been trying for this hatch for years now, and this is the closest I've gotten. (left: goal, right: what I have after primary gene change)

results of the Halloween hatchbatch - keeping!

plushie - xyy maize/pearl (stitched/patchwork/underbelly) coatl - applied button eyes to really sell the "plushie" idea. really happy with cuddles & perlyna's nest - might pull cuddles out of retirement for more plushie coatl babies but since I have 3 now (Halloween, dabi, and now plushie), im content for the time being. need a scroll of eternal youth for her

ghost - black/lead/orca (leopard/clouded/stained) fathom - tukar/nightmoth don't miss with their babies!! v happy again, and of course i want a scroll of eternal youth for her too

deadly nightshade - nightshade/abyss/indigo (strike/coil/antlers) dusthide - very happy with her color combo as well but might change her prim/sec

creeping orchid - orchid/sky/blue (sailfish/coil/antlers) dusthide - originally same primary as nightshade but I had a spare sailfish on hand so I went ahead and applied it to him since it looked so good!

spooky - eldritch/plum/peridot guardian (leopard/blaze/peacock) - i like his "villain" colors, but not his gene combo, so I'm gonna make him a veilspun to go with riot

cider - one off xyy! oilslick/caramel/sand nocturne (tide/patchwork/underbelly) - was hoping for a plushie nocturne but no dice - but he has workable colors, a good result from Halloween & October

riot - phthalo/cream/peridot mirror (basicx3) - my plague egg hatch :3 going to scry her as a veilspun to go with spooky!

I started an absolutely-not-impulsive cryptid-themed project, Mothdragon breeding pair. Already bought two dragons with matching colours (XXX Coal male and XXY Coal/Oilslick female), but they're still waiting to be regened (I need two Breed change: Aether scrolls, one Cinder primary for female and two Flutter tertiary for both of them). Honestly, both of them were Cinder/Blaze/Flutter at the begging, but today FR released new genes for aethers and I think that Wrought/Spire works better for XXX Coal dragons

Also why FR is lagging so hard right now, there's not so many users online...

Oooo she’s cool! I love your art in her bio! It’s very pretty! As for the dragon herself, the Victor’s skull is definitely what makes this dragon. It shows so much personality. However I do feel like some of her apparel is a bit too busy, especially with all those halos layered over each other. Unless you were going for a chaotic energy with the layering? I also love the new space scene for her!

A space child! If I could steal this dragon I 100% would. Starcon on veils goes hard and plum is a GREAT color. I had no idea plum gave a blue gradient effect for constellation on veils. I’m in love with the look. And the accent doesn’t distract from the natural beauty of the dragon, but enhances it.

Omg a Jeff the Killer fandragon. I did not expect to see a creepypasta inspired dragon. You did a great job at making him look like the character! I even thought of Jeff the Killer before looking at his name or bio.

I appreciate a nice basic/basic dragon now and then! Cobalt smirch looks good with steel! I can also relate to tough breeding projects when you’re trying to get a nonexistent combo. I was working on my own rare color combo project with special eyes when the eye update happened too. Congrats on completing your boy!

Oh this is a fun looking dragon! I like how you’ve layered all the feathered apparel. This dragon is Extra Birb and I love them. I’ve never heard of the Seedeater creepypasta before but I do appreciate a neat creepy bird creature.

Alpijskija

A nice frosty dragon! They look nice and cozy for the winter in their arctic apparel. The steampunk wings and goggles were also a nice addition! I was honesyly surprised that their primary was oilslick because with the combo of their apparel and the white from piebald you can hardly see any of the oilslick on them! It’s a neat affect that makes them look more wintery!

Rubin

This lad has a fun ID! That’s a lot of 4s! I like how the bloodstone cascades match his berry opal. The purple birdskull goes surprisingly well with the helpful healer’s apparel.

Wysper

A spooky look! I LOVE the layering of the sanddune rags, bone crown and antlers! It gives this guy such a unique look. It’s extremely well done! The fuchsia ghost on top of black crystal is also such a good look I love contrasting bright colors on top of dark and ghost is one of the best genes to do that! Everything about how you’ve dressed him is very good, but the smokeswirl really ties everything together.

Ohen

This dragon is on fire! Ironic considering they’re an ice dragon. I love the effect of sunshine smoke over oilslick. I also like how well the apparel blends into the dragon. It’s subtle yet helps the dragon pop. The haunting apparel really help give this dragon that ‘on fire’ look. the accent is also simple but effective. The antlers from the accent gives them such a unique look!

Is that a WEED dragon? Highly illegal. I am reporting you to the mods. I’m joking, I’m joking. I enjoy the funny weed dragon.This is a perfect dragon for the Marva eyes and I’m loving the addition of all the plants and the mushrooms.
