And so now I realize, this is going to get worse. Today's ep was a little sweet. Soft. Comforting even. Rak's character development is back, it will go again next episode because of his cousin. His cousin, by the way, I do not like but I think there is going to be some sort of Oh, can i say it? Tong level redemption arc™️. And by arc, I mean a 2 degree curve because her character is shallow and close to pointless when the giggolo father plot exists. A little disappointed with this week's bingo, but alas.

name me any other media that did the 'I give you my heart, will you keep it safe?' trope better than Pirates of the fucking Caribbean did it.

you've got Will and Elizabeth established as childhood friends turned lovers in Curse of the Black Pearl. which like, yes. good way to start it off, of course. excellent way to start it off.

and then you have the complexity of their romance surviving the course of the second movie, Dead Man's Chest. then you've got Elizabeth's arc and Will's arc, both set apart from each other's. which, also excellent, you've got the two of them fleshed out individually outside of their romance.

and then. oh my god and then.

you have that one scene in At World's End. Will's proposal in the midst of combat. the "I made my choice. what's yours?" the Kiss™️, them sealing their marriage while quite literally surrounded by the enemy.

then afterwards, you have Will not only becoming captain of The Flying Dutchman, but giving his heart to Elizabeth in its chest, for her to hold onto for safekeeping. his literal, physical, beating heart. my god. the sheer amount of trust and love, the metaphor, in that gesture in and of itself. it's the kind of thing that goes over your head when you're a kid, but when you're an adult and you realize it upon rewatching these movies makes you go

like. just imagine that. imagine not only figuratively giving your heart to the person you love, but literally so to the point they could hold it in their hands if they wanted to.

it's symbolic and iconic on so many levels. and that alone, my friends, is just... chefs kiss. mwah. delicious. beautiful. I'm going to go fucking feral. Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, truly one of the canon couples of all time. your otp could never.

also a quick sidenote but I'd like to also make the observation that bisexual culture is having had a crush on them BOTH as a kid. don't @ me you know I'm right.

🔫 - Fave canon arc?oh im a HUGE fan of water 7/enies lobby.  robin’s whole story is so good, sogeking is iconic, everyone got cool power-ups, and i think the anime actually did a great job adapting it?  the animation and music were on point.  ALSO i love love love arlong park, that was the first arc that made me say ‘oh fuck. This is why people love one piece’

🎾 - Fave battle?hmmmm, i’m usually more a fan of arcs than specific battles, but zoro’s fight with kaku was really cool - all the way from the start, with kaku using two swords in human form, to when zoro and sogeking were handcuffed together, to when it started getting serious and zoro broke out ASURA MODE, i just think it was all awesome. i liked how kaku was sort of figuring out his powers the whole time? that was interesting. also luffy vs. lucci but we all know that fight’s amazing

👌 - Fave character design?i love sabo’s steampunk look tbh... i don’t think i have any specific favs, one piece characters are generally designed well (i mean. the guys are. the ladies tend to look pretty same-y). i also love zoro’s design but that’s mostly bc it’s simple and easy to draw lmao. OH ALSO usopp’s post-timeskip design is So Fucking GOod, thank u oda

™️ - How has One Piece changed you?i rediscovered my love for simple, friendship-powered shounens, and.. idk, i got into one piece last march, it was my first time being into something for a long while, and. not to say it cured my depression or anything but it definitely made me happier, to have something to be interested in.  plus, with every new piece of media i consume, i make more content for it, and now i’ve written/drawn more for one piece than i have for anything else, which i think is pretty neat. overall, it’s made me a lot happier, in a lot of ways, as cheesy as that sounds
