Hmm agreed. I have those in my irl who want to join tumblr but I keep it weird. Like, "hey, I just had an omegaverse dead dove recommended to me the other day, and my blorbos are getting murdered". Usually, that keeps them at bay but the persistent ones, I tell them that it's just bots with really weird names keeping the place alive. I proceed to inform them that "Gandalfsbignaturals" are a bot and so is that pink slime.

- ‘everyone is innocent until proven guilty and i refuse to condemn him’ (go read the article / enjoy being blocked by me)

- ‘his writing was always Problematic’ (learn to separate art from real life victims of sexual abuse please)

- ‘his writing can still mean a lot to you without you being a bad person’ (yes. just try to avoid giving him money maybe)

a very common one going around, if you pay them, they will either ghost you or give you AI slop in return

if you receive a comment like this on ao3 go to this page, add a link to their account, in the brief summary section write 'commercial activities, spam', and in the description section say you believe this is one of the recent art scam bot accounts, and put in a link to the chapter of your fic they left a comment on, I also copy and pasted their entire comment for clarity

don't let these fuckers get away with this shit, if you're going to block them please report them first

Smut fic on AO3 always seems to have a way lower kudos to hits ratio than non-smut fic; because a larger percentage of people reading feel ashamed to attach their screen name to a kudos on an adult fic.

Which is a shame, really.
