Even more adventures re-reading the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire!

I'm finally onto The Unkindest Tide (didn't have a physical copy of that one and it was checked out of the library for a while) and there's a massive CLUE that I (and probably many other people) completely missed the first time around. Toby thinks about how Firstborn (and/or the first couple of generations) must have a higher fertility rate because they have so many descendants and current generations of fae have a lot harder time having children. The very next chapter a character and her ever-increasing brood is mentioned. Even if I had noticed it (or it gets mentioned in later books?) I just thought it was because she and her husband are changelings so they have a much closer to human fertility (and some humans are just nonstop pregnant).
