What Eclipse is Made From

Re-watching previous episodes from before the October Takeover, and the one directly following getting Moon back after a week of Lunar has some dialogue that really sticks out.

Eclipse doesn’t take credit for the anger Sun was showing towards Lunar, which is VERY uncharacteristic of him. He usually taken credit, whether deserved or not, for differences in Sun’s behavior in the path, even to the point of lying with July 16th. Flaunting how much of an impact he has is amusing to him, and helps create a strong image.

Eclipse goes out of his way to begin the conversation with Moon to make the assertion that Sun is just like Moon to emphasize a sentiment that he’s said before: That Moon shouldn’t have left. Eclipse either remembers correctly or has internalized that a motive for Moon instigating the split was that Moon saw Sun as innocent, more deserving, better in some ways.

Moon’s counter to Eclipse’s argument, that Sun has self control, being taken so negatively and getting such a genuine reaction of frustration is interesting. Eclipse has so much control and even-tone through the talk but THIS is what gets to him, that makes the veneer slip. It’s a bit before the middle of the episode and it seems to become personal vs the ominous foreshadowing and taunts.

Looking back, yes, in a meta sense it tracks that they wouldn’t get too specific on threats and plans given the nature of the show and how much of the story is or isn’t planned out in advance. However, from an in-story perspective and with the context we have now of what happened July 16 and Eclipse REALLY wants the Neutron Star for? It all just kind of, paints a picture of what  foundation Eclipse is building up from.

Eclipse isn’t made of anger, he’s made of fear.

Fear of the unknown (what was going to happen if Sun and Moon got separate bodies, what running the Daycare alone would be like) of abandonment (we’ve heard it directly in regards to Moon) of not having control (Around the daycare, over the immediate environment, of Sun’s autonomy as a whole).

Other negative emotions can feed into those fears or result from them, like resentment, anger, stress. Eclipse’s motivation to get Roxanne out of the way to keep Sun more malleable works twofold in this light. Not only would it eventually get those eyes on the table for access, but the rejection would help isolate Sun further. Causing a calming and grounding affection become crushed, to be one more relationship to withdraw from and doubt and fear repeating.

All the pontificating and gloating, all the oddly unspecific “you’ll see”s after establishing himself as someone who’s all for going into detail. It’s just making Moon and Sun uncertain, stressed, and less likely to spot the holes when thinking Eclipse was a bigger threat than he was at the time.

NOW Eclipse is living up to that hype, at least in part, but that was helped greatly by stumbling onto how magic could help ensure the Takeover Month. What he would have done had Lunar NOT pulled that switcheroo at the wellspring and if it would have been as effective as this, we’ll likely never know. But that’s what’s always given him strength, given his presence power and weight to the characters and even the viewers. 

The what-if, the pull of what’s waiting in the dark, the way not having answers makes a person’s mind fixate on what’s given and filling in the blanks with something worse. I think Eclipse came from that, from Sun being afraid of everything changing, of losing what little control he had over his own little world. So, of course, controlling the world is what Eclipse is after.

Honor Magic 5 Lite: Specs, Features and Design Leaked

The Honor Magic 5 Lite is rumored to be the latest addition to the Chinese smartphone brand's Magic series. With renders and specifications now circulating online, the phone is expected to launch soon.

According to German publication WinFuture.de, the Honor Magic 5 Lite resembles the design of the Honor Magic 4 Lite, as well as the Huawei Mate 40 and Huawei Mate 50 series. The phone will feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with a central hole-punch cutout, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a maximum brightness of 800 nits. It will also be TUV certified for eye protection.

Twitter tipster SnoopyTech also leaked details about the Honor Magic 5 Lite, which will run on Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12. It will be available in Emerald Green, Midnight Black, and Titanium Silver color options.

Under the hood, the Honor Magic 5 Lite will be powered by a Snapdragon 695 SoC, paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The camera setup will include a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. A 16-megapixel sensor will be included for selfies. The phone will also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Other specifications include 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.1, and a USB Type-C port. The phone will be backed by a 5,100mAh battery and will measure 161.6x73.9x7.9mm, weighing 175 grams.
