Tough Week (Papa Mammon-Obey Me)

Mammon being a good papa basically.

Word Count: 1,865

Summary:

Varya can feel her eye twitch, her knuckles ache from how hard she grips her cane. Her siblings all tease her in their own ways for having one at 26 but at this point, it’s her only lifeline with how utterly chaotic her siblings can be.

It's been a tough week..

It’s been a tough week.

First she finds out River and Ryder pulled Rhomb into some pranks, thus getting them all detention with her having to attend a basic hearing on their collective punishment. And on top of having to make one on the spot herself to appease Lucifer. “You’re the oldest, you have to keep them in line.” Thankfully Rhomb will be graduating soon, otherwise she might lose another decade on her life.

Adding to that, the next day she had to look for a missing Quinn, only to find him in one of the worst sets of town in the Lust ring, just ending a motorcycle race. It wouldn’t be so bad if she ended up walking in on him in a scuffle with one of the other bikers, them pissed they got beat by one of the Avatars’ kids. She’s usually fine with her siblings taking on their own battles, they need tough skin in Devildom anyway. But they just had to waste her time more by the biker making a lewd comment about her right in front of her dear, protective, little brother.

Yeah, another punishment had to be made on the spot.

The day after that had her in the human realm with her calmer parent, MC and the youngest, Frankie. After some negotiations as usual about the human realm sending more exchange students to Devildom as per Lord Diavolo’s request, she was dragged to a party per Frankie’s request. She never minds parties, not really. Her father brought her to many in the Fall when she was around 18ish.

Yet, her content mood went to downright sour as she noticed some human punk making too many moves on her younger sister. The men in her life were always respectful, save for some flirting in front of her and her siblings with their ‘mother’. So you can imagine how many seconds she was close to revealing her demon form. Thankfully Frankie wasn’t allowed to drink yet, because many drunk teens went on booing her, calling her names like ‘prude’ or ‘old woman’ as she yanked her sister out of the house and into her silver ride.

Frankie’s apology hug did help lesson the headache that night but still.

Many similar instances occur for the rest of the week. The twins pulling more pranks. Ending up in an awkward position as Lucifer and Satan fought about a mundane thing. Lilly and Diavolo’s heir forcing her into an improve shopping trip despite wanting 5 minutes to herself. Having to make up more punishments when she could care less of what her siblings do for this once. And even when she got some time to herself, she had to deal with some low-life demons undermining her desperately at the casino. Unfortunately leading her to teach them why she’s considered the strongest, most powerful spawn of the Lords of Devildom.

She’s had a tough week, and she needs a break.

Ignoring another phone call from Lucifer, Varya stuffs her DDD into her skirt pocket, slides her cane out of the passenger seat it was previously thrown carelessly into, and opens up her silver ride.

It snaps shut with a harsh bang, and her heels click against the concrete as she makes her way to the building. Workers under her father wave or call greetings to her, used to her occasional visits, and she waves back, perhaps a bit more shortly than the wontoned. Her everyday smile a-tad tight more straight.

Through an elevator ride and passing several doors, she makes her way to the main office. Her father’s office.

She hears his voice, deduces he’s either in a meeting or chatting up the phone by his tone, and knocks before sliding in and hanging on the side. Before she would hang outside, but right now, she needs to see him sooner.

Her back rests on the wall, her smile tight and as patient as she can make it.

“Yeah, well demand is comin’ soon with tha season so we need ta get goin’, Shilk.” Mammon’s nails tap on the desk, his wedding ring glinting in the forever red and purplish hues that filter in the giant glass. He looks up from his hard look into the client chair before him and nods his greeting. Varya bows her head lightly, her long, white hair falling over her shoulder.

“Ok, ok. I got it. I’ll have tha data send ta ya by the end of the week. Just make it snappy, Shilk.” His words pushy, but his tone a touch playful. He ends the call with a short bye, see ya later, before spinning towards his kid with a growing grin.

“ Lil Treasure!” He smirks, “Long time no see, eh? Miss yer old man much?”

“Please.” Her eyes roll, playing his game as easy as pie. “I only came to check up on you, Mother wanted to come see you earlier this week but the exchange program discussions continues to keep them on Earth.”

He hums, he misses his human too. Behind continuous operations of his ever-growing business and working behind the scenes for RAD, he’s barely had time to see them or their daughter. Speaking of…

“I heard you overtook a new territory this week!” He laughs, carefree as a demon can when talking about territory wars and power growth. It’s been a hot minute for himself to do so, but you don’t even have to look at the older demon to know he’s very damn proud his kid is just about following in his boots. Or Heels in her matter.

“Varya Morningstar- Daughter of Greed- overtakes the Newbon territory in a matter of 2 days, all with a winning smile present.” He recalls the headline he saw, whistling at the end.

“Someone must’ve pissed you off.” Her eyes squint and join her smirk at his snicker.

“Well, I suppose when someone stares at your upper chest area a little too much while simultaneously telling you that betting your worth is the utmost impossible, it can be noted as irritating.” Her sharp canines shine.

“That’s my girl!” He cheers, wondering closer. “Don’t let anyone tell you shit, yer my kid after all!”

Varya’s expression doesn’t fall but Mammon still notices anyway, “I hope I could always do so..yet it seems only Lucifer could continue to do so.”

A flash of understanding comes across his face as his head tilts. He doesn’t come across as pitiful, she may be his daughter but she was raised around the Avatar of Pride, but his hand comes to her shoulder, his brow sad/solemnly amused. “He’s really wailing into ya, aint he?”

“As if dealing with my siblings isn’t enough cannon fodder.” Her smile stays up as her shoulders tense, “I understand I am the eldest, but I can’t control every action they make. I haven’t a clue as to why he expects the opposite.”

“That’s Lucifer for ya, kiddo.” His thumb rubs light circles into her half-jacket. “Always wants people on their best behavior, even tried havin’ yer mom help out but they ended up just indulging in us more times than many.”

“But they are all of age now.” It’s rare to see his kid so upset, for years she always had a vacant expression on her face, and it wasn’t until she became older did she start having a smile everywhere, even when she was as pissed as an unsatisfied tyrant. It was her tool against fellow demons, what helped her use her ability as the eldest spawn of the 7 Lords of Devildom and rise to power on her own. People can’t tell how or what she plans, feels, anything.

But Mammon knows, possibly the only one after his human that does.

She’s had a tough week.

And now the cracks are finally making their way to the surface. Her smile is tight, no joy present.

“Frankie may be in her mid teens, but she is old enough and smart enough to know how to handle herself!” Her voice wavers, not loud, at the end. “Why….why must I be the one to keep their un-needed leash? Why must I be turnin’ and throwin’ what I need to do for the day to the wind just to stop some silly prank the boys wanna do? They’ll learn why not to do it, right?”

She breathes, usually blue eyes flaring gold for a second.

She turns silent then lifts to pinch her brow. “Apologies, Father, I came to take a breather but not to-”

Now he acts, now he wraps an arm around her shoulders and pulls her into his chest. “Oh shut it. Yer tired and you got a right to rant.” She tries to push back, not allowing such a ‘weak’ moment but Mammon doesn’t let her. If anything, he pulls her tighter, hand on her head, carding his fingers into her ponytail with a snicker.

“Father-”

“Shushshushshush” His fingers emaphzie his motion, twirling strands or two, messing it from it’s pristine, soft and straight line down her back. “My baby needs a break-”

“Father!” Her cheeks flush, claws digging into his jacket. Her eyes, one closed from being squished into his chest, beat wide at the door. A tinge of fear stomachs. “The door-”

“It’s locked.” He huffs, his blue iris rolling, and he hooks his chin on her head, “Just breathe and hug yer old man, will ya? It’s awkward with yer hands all dangling like they are now.”

Theres a moment pausing the scene, her staring at the door, the more demonic side of her yelling at her to push him and off an leave! He’s useless! To go back to her newly established territory and start working again. Demons don’t cry!

Then there’s the small human part of her, tiny and hidden away, only meant for rare moments. Rare moments like this one..

She takes in a breath, sharp and cold numbing.

Then melts.

Her body goes from straight, rigid, awkwardly tight in Mammon’s hold to a full damn puddle, swift and flashing from one to the other like the transition between 5 year old her holding her 1st little brother for the first time of many to the 26 year old self who’s constantly being batted every which way and that, all while holding her greatest, carefully constructed weapon up high for everyone to see.

Even that falls too, especially that. Her smile drifts until the expensive jacket Mammon adorns wipes it away and welcomes her spilling tears instead.

Mammon has a smile that isn’t full of joy but still as kind, pressing a small kiss to her matching hair and planting his cheek into it. He sways them back and forth as Varya silently unravels, hands clutching his back, claws digging deep but thankfully not tearing.

Varya’s had a tough week. But at least she has her dad’s hugs to break that fall.

Of course!

Varya: (Mammon's Kiddo)

MC and Varya are quite close as Varya is their eldest and first half demon/half human child. Similar to Mammon, Varya usually acts aloof to MC's parental affections- acting unaffected by kisses and hugs but deep down she craves to go back to the moments before she had younger siblings come along and take MC's attention away. Now, MC always make sures to have some time saved for the two to bond as parent and their eldest.

Admittadly however, their relationship did get strained for a short time in Varya's life as she felt she was responsible for her younger siblings' actions growing up. It wasn't until she got older did she and MC decide to work soley on that and allow time for Varya to not feel the oldest and instead like her first child again.

Rhomb(Leviathan's guppy)

Rhomb and MC are close themselves as Rhomb was always the kid that stuck near their or Leviathan's leg whenever they met new people. If a situation were to happen that involved threats towards MC's life, Rhomb is usually one of the first kids to be at their side, growling and scaring off any danger posed to his human parent. Besides some of the brothers, Rhomb is very open with MC, always coming to them if he has an issue or thoughts that won't cease on plaguing him.

MC has at moments to remind Rhomb that he doesn't have to be the sole protector of their family, that they and his fathers are always there to protect each other and the other kids when needed. Similar to Leviathan, MC's also had to show Rhomb they will always love him just as much as his siblings. It was mostly when he was young and got jealous of the attention his siblings received but it has sparked at times so MC cuts in times to spend with him even as he breaches past his early 20s. Out of all the kids, Rhomb is the only one to always remember that they have a human parent out of all 8, and proceeds to get swatted at by MC themselves because his momma/parent isn't weak! (Rhomb- Sorry, Mom)

Lilith the 2nd (Lilly) (Lucifer's pride and joy)

While the two love each other very much and have shown each other in each and every way, Lilith is honestly more close to Lucifer than MC in most ways. However, Lilith is no stranger to coming to her mother/parent when worried about anything personal in her life. Her human side allows her to speak her more emotional thoughts and feelings so MC often encourages her to speak on behalf of Diavolo's plan of uniting the 3 Realms together, which she is an active part of already.

MC to Lillith is like the fun parent to Lucifer's strict parent duo. Lucifer encourages her to stay on top of her grades, a good reputation as his daughter and one of the eldest children of the Avatars of Sin, while MC reminds her to cut loose and let herself be 21 every now and then. Has backfired at some turns of Lilith coming home tipsy with Quinn and the twins (Ryder and River) and getting a large lecture from Lucifer while MC shoots thumbs up behind his back. Overall, very sweet and fun relationship!

Quinn (Asmodeus's lovechild)

Quinn loves his parents, like dearly, but he's kind of a loner compared to his siblings. Ironic when being the son of lust who loves being around people just about 24/7, but it's true. Nothing wrong on his parents' part no, he's just made that way. I would say his relationship with both Asmo and MC is just about the same. Asmo is more hyper and outright affectionate while MC is chiller and more down to earth which he matches with in energy more.

Fun fact: When Quinn expressed his want to get a motorcycle, Asmo was the one freaking out, worried about the dangers while MC simply asked if he was gonna watch himself on it. Quinn thought about it and nodded, thus MC shrugged and said, 'Alright, but if I see you doing anything reckless, I don't care if yer 21, I'mma take it away faster than you can say yer name'. All while Asmo stared at his partner in horror. Yeah, MC has a chill and relaxed relationship with Quinn, possibly because he acts the most mature out of all the kids most times. And I mean most times, MC laughs and calls him an idiot when he does stupid shit but makes sure he's alright like their supposed to.

Libbey (Satan's spawn/not spawn)

When Liberty was a kid, she used to have the worst temper tantrums out of all the kids, enough so if took both MC and Satan to calm her down. To Libbey, MC and Satan keep similar attitudes when it came to raising her. Calm and collected, soothing but not afraid to put their foot down with their hellspawn. Thankfully the young 21 year old managed to learn how to keep her temper in check, but grew anxiety during the years.

Again, Satan and MC have just about the same amount of closeness to her so she's not really 'closer' to just one. She goes to Satan if she's wanting to delve into her book reading and studies, but at the same time, goes to MC when she needs an utter break from the chaos her siblings bring. MC's use to the anxiety talk- having multiple husbands and kids with vast variances of anxiety levels, it's easy to tell when the girl needs a zone out break and lets her get covered in motherly/parental love as the girl destresses with cuddles and a movie night. MC's that parent you go to when life gets too rough and helps with distractions galore!

Ryder and River (Belphie's calfs)

For Ryder, he's also more of a loner to anyone but River. Him and MC tease and poke fun at each other all the time, the 19 year old constantly smacking them with his tail and running as his favorite parent runs after him with a 'son of a b****!' That kid that calls his parents the weirdest names and wonders why people look terrified. (I literally call my mom woman as a joke and seriously get concerned when people's response is 'how are you not dead yet?') While he can poke fun at his mom/parent, no one is allowed to beside his siblings. He once jokingly said his mom is so stupid the one time they accidentally pronounced something wrong at a meeting (MC's the human ambassador in my AU) and when a lesser demon laughed and agreed with him, he immediately dragged the fucker out of the room for a 'talk'. No one questioned him besides Lucifer when he got back and all he said was 'taking care of a stain he saw on the rug'.

For River, he's definitely really close to MC. He yells 'MOM!' anytime they get back and hugs them like he hasn't seen them in so long. It's been 5 minutes. Anyhow, he's the kid that when he saw his dads kiss MC, he would go up, hug them and say 'My mom! Get yer own! >:(' Does that the most to Belphie, the least to Beel. He likes Papa Beel. Honestly scared MC the most growing up. They would find him on the ceiling, the stairway railing hanging by his tail, outside the window rim of the 3rd story, even on the top of the fridge just giggling at their screech. But MC loves their weird, demon child, enough so that they aren't surprised anymore to be globbed into a hug the moment they get home from a trip to the human world. But don't worry, he's always gentle :).

(They act the same to Belphie ngl, Ryder outright calls him curse words with a grin while River is most definitely rougher in his affection)

Frankie (Beel's little bee)

Ah, the youngest little hybrid of the group. And MC sometimes treats her as such without even realizing it. She's always excited to see her momma, has the biggest grin the moment she hears their voice. While she adores the one-on-one time she gets with her mom, she tends to feel bad after a while of it and turns to inviting the rest of her sisters to join. Besides, she already goes to the human world enough with her mom, why would she need even more time in Devildom? Since MC's the human ambassador of Diavolo's plans, they tend to go back and forth alot to the human realm and Frankie tends to follow them along. Perhaps it's because of her more human side, but she feels at home there and even better when she and MC can go do more tame activities together that are slightly more dangerous in Devildom, like hiking, arcades, food places, anywhere.

Frankie's probably the kid that sticks with their mother the most of all of MC's kids, mostly because she's 16 and vastly weaker than her siblings, so its not unusual to see the two wondering around together, clasping hands because Frankie demands it.

Funfact: A kid around Frankie's age from the human realm teased her for still wanting to hold her parent's hand while 16, and when MC wasn't looking, Frankie allowed the side her father gave her to show off. MC turned back around a few minutes later to find a smiling Frankie and the heckler gone.

MC overall has a great relationship with all their kids, some a little more distance than others but if they were able to wrangle a group of 7 demon lords to have better communication and whatnot, I'm sure they can deal with anything their kids throw at them. Also, in my AU, MC is the oldest of her siblings herself so she's used to a full and big house already.

Obey Me Next Generation Idea(aka-My au)

What about poly Au with the bros? I assume with demon culture, MC having kids and the bros all being the dad wouldn't be too surprising as I think monogamous relationships are seen just the same as polyamorous. Like neither really matter honestly in a "oh this is a big deal/drama!" Sense.

Plus its the 7 lords, they can do whatever the fuck they want

I know MC is mostly human but I think having kids is still possible as they got magic plus their pacts with the bros might make them stronger. Plus, historically, woman have been able to have multiple pregnancies, like more than 4 at least, so still- not impossible.

Varya (1st Born) (she/her)-25

Daughter of Mammon

Is more demon than human, possibly the most demon out of the kids.

Holds a very smiley but deadly aura around her.

Seems the opposite of Mammon in behavior but you can tell by her subtle acts towards her family, shes his kid alright.

Is the type of person to shake a person's hand but hold a knife in the other.

"Looks like a cinnamon roll, can kill you"

Lights up at the mentions of crocheting, dogs, and weird but oddly alluring creatures around Devildom.

She does have a small habit of gambling when out with Mammon, but is actually able to keep her wins because no one expects it through her gold-winning smile.

Mess with her family and its on sight.

Lilith the 2nd (3rd born-1st triplet) (she/her)-21

I headcannon Lucifer to at least be the only one to name their daughter after their sister. Not to replace, never, but to honor her.

Is in a strange middle between Half demon-mostly demon

Sweetheart by default

That big sister you can always talk to and she wont judge.

Will make passive agressive remarks when peeved off.

Definitely denies acting like Lucifer yet can do the stance-arms crossed and glare- exactly like him.

Even does the whole hand chest like him too. Shocked look and all.

Calls all the brothers papa but Lucifer father, not as a distance way but thats just how she's always been.

Theatre kid- almost always lead.

A nice balance between human and demon

But has "mutations" that make him have scaly patches on his body, his tail out almost 24/7, and bad eyesight.

Stern attitude most of the time.

Big bro protector

Tallest of all the kids

Softer on the younger kids but will smack a bitch if they act up.

Cant play video games much cause eyes so turns to more physical games that include puzzles.

Likes games with strategy to follow like War tanks, or chess. Is the type to make a DnD game the best cause he makes amazing stories too despite not reading much.

Likes mystery shows too and tries to figure it out before the answer is revealed, could go on rants about why. Gets it right 11/10 times.

If Leviathan wasnt his biological dad, people would believe he was Satan's kid.

Doesnt like cats tho.

Quinn (4th Born- 2nd Triplet) (He/they/doesnt care) (21)

Asmo just thought Quinn was a pretty name so picked it lol.

Also a nice balance between human/demon. Tho his wings stay out constantly.

Very much vibes from that yellow bird in Rio.

Laid back personality but is an outgoing dude.

Also very protective of their siblings, and will not hesitate to cut a bitch.

Isnt as flamboyant as Asmo but does have a just as great fashion sense.

Has a hard time dating as people automatically assume hes just like Asmo so will try to date him for that reason only.

Love his dad but hates the reputation he gets because of being said son.

So he resorts to just sticking to his siblings or the few friends he trusts.

Besides MC, is the second most popular face to pop up on Asmo's Devilgram

Fucking adores axolotls for no particular reason, just loves them to no end which Asmo makes sure to get many axolotl themed plushes, shirts, etc. for him.

Libbey(Liberty) (5th Born- 3rd triplet)(she/her)-21

Another balance between human/demon, maybe a tad more on the demon side.

Tho, also has "mutations" like very enhanced hearing.

Bookworm to the max

Loves reading dramas and fantasies, but seems to enjoy multiseries more than stand alone.

Very quiet and shy kid of the group.

Sometimes cant even talk so signs instead because earaches or headaches.

Likes cats but perfers reptiles more.

Has a small turtle in her room from the human realm, set it up beside her bed and everything. Their name is Casey after one of her favorite human novels she read.

But despite all this, isnt called the daughter of wrath just for nothing beside biology reasons.

Is like Satan 2.0 when pissed, she wont yell or scream but you can just tell from the drop of room temperature and the subtle tilt of her head.

Her eyes glow an electric green when shes pissed.

Had more anger issues when younger, but cause Satan knew how to handle his better now, taught her how to aswell.

Satan is probably the main one to understand her issues with such a problem, despite being more mellowed out now that shes older.

Is definitely a cryer when really angry tho.

Ryder(6th Born) (1st twin)- 19

Ngl, everyone was surprised that they had twins. Including Belphie himself.

But then again, they did have triplets before them so....eh?

Ryder is a tad more human than demon, but still powerful enough to have his own demon form like his older siblings.

His tail is seen smaller than Belphie's, and a bit thinner too.

The sloth genes affact him only so much, making him more likely just want to procrastinate then outright not do anything.

He honestly enjoys the human world more than Devildom, mainly cause everything is less..hectic per say.

Hes the type of brother/older friend that will cover for ya if you have to hide something but will subtly suggest how to fix whatever their doing.

Like one time Quinn came home slightly tipsy and past curfew, and he snuck them into his room. Though he scolded them in the morning, he covered for Quinn at breakfast, saying they ate too much sugar last night, thats why hes queasy and has a headache.

Quinn did fix that habit up quick after Ryder threatened to leave him on his own next time it happened.

Calls everyone bro or dude, no matter their gender.

Gen z vibes too in most areas.

Has a fixation with cow bells for some reason, likes the noise is all he can say.

If he were told what Belphie did to their mom/human parent way before they were born, he says "Cowabummer" while screaming inside.

River(7th born-2nd twin)(they/them)-19

How is this Belphie's kid?

Too hyper, tad crazy

Probably has ADHD, who knows.

While Ryder is the slightly responsible twin, their the reason why Ryder needs to be said twin.

Their just about the same range of human/demon as Ryder, can have a demon form, but only uses it to fuck with people than to actually be scary with it.

They may have alot of power, but their personality alone can kill people.

Is the type of kid to crawl on the ceiling when they were 2.

Is also the type to hop outta window to get to the lower floor faster. Thank Belphie for their demon powers otherwise we'd have another Lillith situation.

Has scared even Lucifer at one point, has made him yelp out of surprise. Will not go on how, no matter how much Papa Satan and Belphie ask them. Just has a toothy grin when they ask.

When calm, is actually a pretty chill dude. They like odd patterns and get fixated on the most random things.

MC gave them one of those sand timers that you flip to restart and when she came down to tell them food was done about 2 hours later, she found them sitting on the table, holding it while watching the sand go down. They use it now to relax and focus on when overstimultated or just having too much of a fuzzy head.

Has spent nearly a how week with Leviathan because they got hooked on one anime with him. Now has frequent solo movie nights with him cause.

"They're tad confused, but got the spirit"

Literally had to have someone (Rhomb) explain to them what the LGBTQ+ letters meant. Legit thought it was just new alphabet pattern, was still happy to find out what it all means.

If you told them what Belphie did to their mom before they were born, they'd think it as a joke. Dont tell them otherwise or they will cry.

Frankie(8th Born)(She/her)-16

Everyone thought that she would be the biggest child when MC was pregnant with her, since y'know, it was confirmed Beel's kid.

Yeah, she came out small. Like scary small for a baby.

It was then everyone knew she would be the most human. Has a little demon in her, but clearly not enough to have a demon form nor mark.

Lucifer's wallet cried in relief.

She does eat a good bit more than the average human but overall, nothing compared to Beel.

She does adore sweets to the max, especially gummies. Give her some and she'll love you forever.

Sweetest little sunshine in the world, everyone adores her. If they dont, then they will soon.

Shes like Mirabel in encanto, kinda wishes she had more demon powers but is still overall happy with who she is.

When her a Beel are with each other- OH MY DIAVOLO, THE CAVITIES PEOPLE GET- TOO DAMN SWEET AND PURE

Like big papa Beel and his sweet little girl all smiley and pure. Best father-daughter relationship out of all the siblings and fathers.

Shes kinda like pinkie pie from MLP but like more hyper as fuck. Can and will speak so fast when excited that it just comes out as squeaks at that point.

Since her more human side, shes more likely to stay in human world when their mom is on Buisness there, so she has alot of human friends.

Shes in gymnastics, which definitely helps keep her figure more smaller despite all the sweets she eats. Does work out with Beel too.

Mess with her and you have a whole army on yer ass.
