Dahabiya is a tiny boat that will transport you back in time to the romance of the past. One of the greatest ways to explore Egypt and the artifacts from its ancient history is to take a ride down the River Nile.
Undoubtedly, the Nile River was important to the development of ancient Egypt. You have the opportunity to experience the splendor of the Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples while on an Egyptian cruise with Maestro EgyptTours. Visit the Edfu Temple, which is thought to be the second-largest temple after Karnak, and be astounded. It was built during the reign of Ptolemy III and finished during the reign of Ptolemy IV, and it was dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god.
As a result, it served as the focal point of numerous Horus-related sacred Egyptian ceremonies. Then investigate Kom Ombo Temple, one of Egypt's most attractive temples, which is made up of the Sobek Temple and the Haroeris Temple. The Greco-Roman era saw the construction of the Kom Ombo Temple. The temple, known as "Ber Sobek" or the abode of the god Sobek, was much older and its ruins served as the foundation for this one.
Additionally, the Egypt Nile River Cruise in New Year gives you the opportunity to visit Queen Hatshepsut Temple, which is situated in Deir El Bahari and is one of the most impressive and well-preserved temples in Egypt. It is also regarded as one of the most recognizable temples in all of Egypt because of its style and ornamentation it was constructed of limestone rather than sandstone, unlike the majority of other funerary temples from the New Kingdom period.
It is from the 18th dynasty and was made in honor of Queen Hatshepsut, the fifth pharaoh of the 18th dynasty and a rare female pharaoh. She ruled for a longer period of time than any other female head of a native dynasty and is usually recognized by modern Egyptologists as one of the most successful pharaohs. You can take a New Year Nile River Cruise to see the Colossi of Memnon, two 20-meter-tall sculptures that served as the guardians of the Amenhotep III Temple before it was completely destroyed by an earthquake in 27 BC. They gained notoriety in antiquity because of a strange sound that was released from one of them every sunrise.

Hotel Mumbai (2018)
Tumblr media
Hotel Mumbai leaves viewers profoundly affected. The intensity of its terror and the prevalent tension might even be too much for some. It’s made all the more impactful knowing that it all really happened.
On November 26, 2008, the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai, India is THE place to visit. When armed terrorists - part of a coordinated attack across the city - enter the building and begin firing indiscriminately, waiter Arjun (Dev Patel), is trapped inside. The local police are not equipped to deal with the situation. Until special forces arrive from New Delhi - 8 hours away - the hotel staff and guests are on their own.
We actually follow multiple characters trapped inside the hotel. There’s David (Armie Hammer) and his new wife Zahra (Nazanin Boniadi), who are traveling with their newborn son and his nanny (Tilda Cobham-Hervey). Other guests are introduced and then play a small part in the story as a whole - such as Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Angus McLaren - or are introduced in a way that makes you think they’re just there to prove a point but turn out to be much more important, such as Jason Isaacs' Vasili. Several hotel staff members are given prominent roles, such as chef Hemant Oberoi (Anupam Kher). Even the terrorists are given enough time on-screen for us to kind of know who they are. All these pieces move independently, their stories crossing over and then diverging again. It makes the film unpredictable.
Your nerves fry, as you never know when someone’s scene is going to be their last - either because they manage to find a way to escape or are gunned down. No hero manages to pick up a gun and single-handedly save the day. Actually, this movie is the opposite of a typical action film. Every shot fired rings in your ears and makes you want to cover your head. You know that sound means someone was just murdered.
Hotel Mumbai effectively makes you feel and understand what the situation in the hotel was like. Your eyes dart around every room, looking for something to block the doors or an exit. When a solution is found, you breathe a sigh of relief but director Anthony Maras is quick to snatch away your reprieve. There are just too many things that could go wrong and when people die, you feel it. I don’t know how anyone could watch this picture and not change the way they look at a gun.
I wonder if Hotel Mumbai is even perhaps too effective. It seems cruel to be subjected to have to live through these events. Then again, that’s precisely the objective. It wants to generate emotions, to make us understand what happened and acknowledge the tiny specs of heroism which emerged from this horrific situation. You may not ever consider the film fun but there’s no way you’ll forget it. (June 30, 2019)
