I hate whenever people make a “submissive” character dependent, as if the two words are interchangeable. Just because they’re submissive doesn’t mean they can’t hold their own and have no self confidence…

Merry yurimas besties!!!!! milf4gilf robot yuri for the soul!
They're often on my mind. The universe where the GDA actually defeated Omniman and captured Invincible has a female Cecil and Donald. There's so much matter to work with!!

At first I thought Starboy's black outfit was a bit odd, not glowy enough yknow? But then I realized it does two things:
Looks like the night sky, especially with the gold designs on it, and
Contrasts Magnifico's all-white outfit!

that scene in season 1 where teruki hanazawa exorcises ekubo mid-sentence... and shigeo's eyes widen in shock?
i really want to talk about it, specifically the explosion meter accompanying it.
normally, when the teenager's emotions aren't obvious to the audience, that meter relays to us a sense of what he is actually feeling. but we cannot trust the meter here. we see it jump up a few points at teru's 'psycho wave' sending the sleazy ghost to the shadow realms, and remain steady at 50% upon shigeo's recollections of the spirit's unsavory nature. the boy outright tells teru that he isn't bothered. and it's funny!
but shigeo isn't being honest with himself here either.
his face briefly gives his feelings away before resettling into its normal flat affect. (to be fair, what he's really feeling isn't teru's business. this kid is trying to provoke a fight out of him, after all.) after he's basically tortured into exploding, shigeo spends three hours in the pouring rain, searching everywhere for ekubo.
three. hours.
these are not the actions of someone who isn't bothered. letting himself get drenched to the point of sickness,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
even though he literally holds the power to shield himself from it,
Tumblr media
reads to me like unconscious self-punishment for allowing all this to happen.
after a large chunk of his short life spent denying and fearing them for good reason, shigeo's first impulse is often not to use his psychic powers -- even after his integration at the story's end. i wish this was discussed more, because many watchers cannot fathom why this boy with world-breaking psychic abilities would ever refuse to use them.
also: the explosion meter lying to us / representing shigeo's detachment from his own emotions alexithymia may occur elsewhere in the series as well, especially when he's not close to an explosion; i'm reminded of the tiny dent ritsu's provocation of him makes in it a few episodes later.

there's this weird kind of post that feels like an anti-bucktommy trying to like, "blend in" and go "haha I'm one of you" whenever they slip into the bucktommy tag where they obviously insult LFJ or Tommy, ALWAYS make sure to go "well sure I'm a buddie shipper but not that much just a teeny tiny bit", and you can tell they are very desperate for attention but too afraid of potential backlash (bad attention) for being as anti bucktommy as they really are.
It just feels fake as hell, like no, we are not giggling with you say it with your whole chest you wimp.

Thinking about Ryuu's first time on stage. Ryuu, who'd never performed in front of anyone before in his life. Ryuu, who grew up as a fisherman's son in Okinawa, and whose greatest aspiration is to fix his father's boat and send his brothers to university. Ryuu, who wasn't even on a popular sports team playing in front of a crowd before he joined up with TRIGGER.
Ryuu, surrounded by two of the most exacting people he's ever met, up on stage staring out at the people gathered there to see them. TRIGGER. And it doesn't matter if it's a dozen or a hundred or ten thousand, that first time it seems like a million. Two thousand eyes on you, hotter even than the spotlights making him sweat. No matter how you try to prepare yourself for that, you can never really be ready for the reality of that sort of thing.
Do you think he froze up? Got nervous and missed a cue? Tenn stepping in from behind him to make up for it, and he's smiling, because of course he's smiling, he's on stage, but Ryuu can feel how angry he's going to be later. Gaku trying to cover for his fumbled dance moves with a little extra charm, but it makes the weight on Ryuu's shoulders weigh all the more heavily.
He just wanted to fix his father's boat.
Stand on the stage. Sing. Dance. Smile. It sounds so easy.
It will be. Eventually. Easier, at least. Never easy.

How do you think Apollo would feel if he knew that there were so, so, SO many ppl ready to shower him with love, affection and support? (I'm talking about the fans, ofc)
I think he'd have quite the crisis, haha. He doesn't come off as the sort of guy who'd enjoy being famous (at all), even if said fame was entirely positive.
He'd probably say something like "...What do you mean I have thousands of fans?! I'm... I'm just... some random lawyer, you know?"

Jason: I was just washing my hair and found a guitar pick in it… I don’t play guitar.
LJ: Maybe it was Zalgo telling you that you rock.
Y/N: He picked you.
Jason: [Narrowing his eyes at both of them]
LJ, almost failing to hold in laughter: Ba dum tsss!!

What do you want to do, Shadowheart? I want to see my parents. And I don't care what happens to this one. She's been in my head long enough already. Do what you like. I know you'll choose well.

Did anyone else notice how inconsistent the portraits were for the Krew?
(Spoilers for the end of OUAW S1 below cut)
The portraits are supposed to show someone’s closest family, and shown by Kremy, Gideon, and Torbek’s portraits, it doesn’t necessarily have to be blood related.
But the thing I don’t understand is…what exactly are the portraits rules for showing their family? Because Gricko’s portraits showed his dad, who Gricko didn’t even KNOW was his dad. Okay, maybe they show your parents, regardless of whether or not you’re close to them or know if they are your parent?
Except that’s not the case because of Kremy, Gideon, and Torbek. Kremy’s portraits don’t show ANY of his blood relatives (not his mom, brother, or grandma), neither do Gideon’s or Torbek’s. Okay, maybe they just don’t show dead relatives?
Except that’s ALSO not the case because iirc, Gricko’s portraits also show Uncle Glorbo, who Gricko has said REPEATEDLY throughout the ENTIRE CAMPAIGN thus far that Glorbo is very much dead. And even Frost’s portraits disprove that because Frost specifically mentioned during his story that the test was the last time he saw his parents ALIVE. And, after watching a good chunk of Icebound at this point, I know for a FACT that Derek doesn’t just say shit like that without reason, meaning that Frost’s parents are also most likely dead.
I know it’s probably not really relevant to the grand scheme of things, and chances are they’ll all forget about it by the time S2 starts, but I was writing a bonus chapter to my Frostbek oneshot (which is technically a “deleted scene” since I wanted to include it in the actual oneshot but didn’t know how to fit it in the 5+1 things format), and it got me thinking just how inconsistent the portraits family rules are

ever since someone — and unfortunately i cannot remember who — reblogged one of my posts about haymitch and katniss’ relationship with the tags “they don’t have a father/daughter relationship, they have a mother/daughter relationship” i’ve never viewed their dynamic the same way.

that’s really the core of lucifer, i suppose. he knows that something horribly, desperately, unspeakably wrong was done to him. and god did that. so. there’s nothing that can be done but to accept it as it is.

IWTV Book Spoilers (Kind of)
The thing I love about having a second interview, and an older, human Daniel Molloy, is that it gives book readers (like myself) the priviledge of watching the older Daniel (as he is later presented in the books) interacting with all these characters in a way I wish they had shown more in the book series.
The Daniel that is no longer starstruck, horrified or in awe of these vampires doesn't get as much interaction with them later on as I feel like he should have. Also, I love having the experienced Daniel now giving criticism and pushback to this story. Young Daniel lacked the cynicism and skepticism of someone who has truly lived through some shit.
I still hope they keep the storyline of him getting the Dark Gift then dealing with everything that comes with it (i.e losing his mind).
Daniel Molloy is lowkey the best vampire in the Vampire Chronicles.
