Authors Note -> BokuAka is my OTP, no one can top them. They are so adorable and I love them. They are also SOOO perfect for angst, I don't know why.

I looked around the table in the back corner of my hometown bar. Friends and family gathered around me in a bittersweet joy. A going-away party. A party that's supposed to be fun, but turns out depressing and miserable. But with my friends, nothing can ever be boring.

Insisting we have it at our bar, Kuroo gathered all of our high school friends, all of my coworkers, and all of my family, into one tiny section. Cheers and beers went round and round the small rectangular table, as well as through the bar, from strangers who over heard.

After about two hours, I left. Calling an Uber, with no destination in mind, I thought about all the times Kuroo and I walked out of this bar, absolutely wasted, trying to find our ways back home. I sometimes wish I could go back, but what would change? I'd still be where I am now.

The notification popped up on my phone, signaling that I had another customer. At the bar, my back seat door opened and a man sat down. His cheeks were a rosy red, his golden eyes were teary, and his hair was two-toned and messy. Despite all of that, he was one of the most handsome men I've seen in this tiny town.

"Where are you going sir?"

"Would it be okay if we just drove around? With the windows down? It's a nice night and I'm not ready to be alone just yet."

"That's fine with me."

Akaashi started pulling away and Bokuto rolled the windows down, eager to breathe in the night and forget his destiny.  Arms were seen outside the window as Bokuto became an airplane, flying on the adrenaline and sorrow.  To passerby's Bokuto was drunk and having fun, but Akaashi could see.  He saw the way his body tensed up ever so slightly every time they hit a bump, or the way his eyes always had a tear or two threatening to fall.

"Hey man, I know we don't know each other but, is there anything you want to say?"

Bokuto brought his arms back in and slowly smiled.  It wasn't a smile of joy, but a smile of pain.  The kind of smile one gives when they're trying to convince themselves they'll be okay.

"Have you ever thought about dying?  Or what life is like after you die? Cause I know I do.

"Unfortunately I can say that I have.  Why do you ask?  What's going on?  What's Up?"

"I was diagnosed with brain cancer last week.  They said it's too late to have chemo or even get it treated.  I'm-  Im dying and I'm okay with that."

Akaashi's eyes filled with tears.  His vision became blurry and it got to the point of him having to pull over.

"I was at a going away party with my friends at the bar.  I told them I'm moving away for a job opportunity.  I didn't have the courage to tell them the place was Heaven.

Truth is, I'm a little scared.  Not for myself, but for them.  I wasn't drinking, and I know they sensed something was wrong, but I hope they just thought I was sad about leaving.

That's why I asked you to drive around.  I'm better around people, even if they're strangers.  When I'm by myself I feel lonely and sad.  I don't like feeling like that."

Akaashi was stunned.  At the end of each ride, he asked people if there was something they needed to get off their chest, and he's heard some things.  But nothing- nothing compared to this.

"I'm sorry man.  I didn't mean to go so into detail, but I think this is the happiest I've been since my diagnosis.  The way the night feels on my lungs and skin is breathtaking and the town tonight has such a heavenly glow."

"I agree.  Although it's small, this town really does affect you in the most beautiful ways."

"I know we won't ever see each other after this. but thank you.  Thank you for listening and indulging with me.  It means a lot coming from a stranger, and I really hope it doesn't have to do with the fact that I have cancer.  Even though I'm dying, I'd much rather people be blunt with me, and not beat around the bush."

"You're welcome.  I will let you know, it's not the cancer.  You are a very likable person, and I'll tell you, that you are a very pretty crier.  Your eyes shine like diamonds when you cry, and I find it mesmerizing."

"'Thank you- "

"Keiji.  Akaashi Keiji."

"Kotarou.  Bokuto Kotarou.  Thank you Keiji."

"You're welcome Kotarou.  I'll take you home now.  Just know your not alone.  Not ever."

Keiji sat, dressed in all black, underneath an umbrella, and cried.  He hasn't known Kotarou at all, but that one might in his car, left such an impact, and Keiji couldn't believe a man like him was gone.  Not two months after they're fateful encounter, Keiji read on the paper that the beloved volleyball player passed away.  They never stated the reason, probably to protect the public from such a sorrowful thing, but Keiji knew.  Keiji remembered how miserable Kotarou felt in his back seat.  He remembered how much it hurt to hear Kotarou's voice crack and see his body tense.  He remembered, despite his horrible odds, how Kotarou looked genuinely happy with his arms out the winter smelling the city. 

It was a cruel fate.  A horrible way to go, and with the way it hurt him, he can't imagine how the family felt. 

"I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss.  I hadn't known Bokuto at all, but I was his Uber driver the night of his "going-away party.  I wanted you guys to know, that he was okay with dying.  He said it himself.  and I want you guys to know, he enjoyed himself that night.  And I want you guys to remember that.  Please, for him."

Only F1 now. In the past I've mostly written for Muse. I've also written for BBC Sherlock. I have been writing since I was a kid, though, so there was a lot of stuff that didn't even make it online, let alone to AO3 lol 

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? 

Dance Me To The Moon (F1 / Sebastian Vettel), Zero Minus Ten (Muse), Everything of Nothing (Muse), Never Dream of Dying (Muse) and Resistance (Muse) 

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? 

Absolutely. Unfortunately it's very common that readers do not give the authors any feedback. So if someone goes out of their way to show any kind of support or, as some very kind people do, leave detailed reviews, I will be incredibly grateful and make sure to let them know. 

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? 

I often end my stories in a positive note, even the ones who have a vague or open ended finale. But I'd say a Muse one-off I wrote in 2009 called "Il Coma" was heavy for my standards. Also Never Dream of Dying, but that was part of a trilogy so not sure it counts. (well, the readers at the time were not pleased with the TBC, let's put it that way LOL)

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? 

Currently, on AO3, I think Dance Me To The Moon. I don't want to spoil but it's a romance so.... haha  

8. Do you get hate on fics? 

I don't remember ever getting hate tbh.  

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? 

Oh, yeah. Lots. Ha. All kinds. M/M. F/M. Threesomes. I've done PWP. I've done kink. I've done romance. I've done dubious/non-con. I've (literally) written smut sitting in a church. I've gotten to the point where I'm sort of getting bored of writing it.  

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? 

Yes. I once wrote a Muse / BBC Sherlock crossover - Showbiz. It was incredibly fun to plot. It was well received, too, so I enjoyed that! The Mb-7 universe trilogy is also a crossover of sorts between Muse and Daniels Craig's James Bond, because characters such as M and Q feature.  

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? 

If I did, I never noticed.  

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? 

I was once asked for permission for someone to translate a story, I felt very honoured! 

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? 

Yes, the whole MB-7 trilogy was co-written with one of my best friends. 

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship? 

In F1 I will have to say Sebastian with Jenson or with Mark. (although in reality I like him with everyone lol). But Mulder / Scully from The X Files and Matt Bellamy / Dom Howard from Muse are probably my OTPs.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? 

I don't really have WIPs because although I have a lot of ideas and have plotted things in detail that never materialised, I only start writing once I am 100% I will write it in full.

The only exception - and therefore a regret I never finished - is a sequel to the BBC Sherlock / Muse crossover. I wrote a few pages and sadly that was it.

16. What are your writing strengths? 

Hard for me to answer this. But I try to make the characters as realistic and true to life as possible. I also make it a point of having a decently structured plot.  

17. What are your writing weaknesses? 

Oh, god, where to start. I feel immediately restricted in how and what I write because my command of English (as second language) is not as good as I wish it would be. Then I'm also a very slow writer and edit endlessly. I tend to repeat ideas and certain expressions. I don't know, we could be here all day lol  

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? 

Very cool! I love languages and especially in F1 it's very fitting.  

19. First fandom you wrote for? 

It was a TV show and I don't remember the name, I was a kid. The first one I do remember was for an American band called Matchbox 20.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written? 

This is SO hard to reply! I'm going to leave out one-shots (which kills me cos there is a few I still love) and mention only chaptered stuff:

Dance Me To The Moon (F1) because I never thought I'd be able to write a romance and I was so incredibly proud of myself, was fully emerged in it and I will carry these two with me for the rest of my life.

Resistance  (Muse) because it was the first time I wrote a novel length thriller that I felt had all I wanted and it was such an enjoyable process.

Everything or Nothing (Muse) because it was the first of the MB-7 trilogy, it was co-written, we adored our villain, the huge amount of nods to James Bond. And it kicked off a series with a level of plot intricacy that I will never be able to top.

Showbiz (Sherlock / Muse) because it was such a crazy crossover but I had so much fun dissecting Sherlock and I was very happy with the result.

Honourable nod to a figure skating fanfic I wrote with Alexei Yagudin / Michelle Kwan, years ago. It was self-indulgence of the greatest kind and I loved writing every word of it. I have no idea if it's online anywhere atm. I wish I could remember the title!

OMG I haven't updated you on irl Ellie in fucking forever. I've almost officially moved in, my siblings are with my aunt, and you'd never guess but my best friend, or who was my best friend, was in fact in love with me and was jealous. Anyway back to the main point irl Ellie has been so gentle with me and she's helping me in any that she can. The other day (more like a few weeks ago) I was messing around, not really, but I was joking saying I'd die to be a pretty housewife and guess what this bitch said? "My girl deserves anything she wants" WHAT THE FUCK I AM DYING BEVAUSE SHE SO HDBSBEHEHWJ. She then continued to tell me I could do that if I wanted to because she would be able to support us but I honestly don't want to do that to her, so we compromised and I found an online job, working for the worldwide hotline (anonymous reports and sewercidle talks and ideations is what they have me on rn). I had a really tough call and I was crying so hard and she just held me and told me I couldn't have stopped it no matter how hard I tried, it's so difficult to be otp with people when they do end up doing it, but I want to help people and the people I've successfully helped mean a lot to me, and the ones I haven't make me want to do better and try harder. I talked to a little girl, she said she was 14 and her mom was struggling. I gave her tips and she called back a few days later telling me that my tips were working and helping her mom improve. Irl ellie is making me a better person without trying and I adore her for that.

Short stories/fics I may write for characters

Been thinking a lot about getting into writing fanfics as opposed to just little summary posts. It might be a fun activity to do to get the creative juices flowing in between writing for my fanseries. So here are some of my ideas:

Goldenflower' Guilt- I've already talked about this one on here but I'm determined now to make it become real. And damnit if I have to do it myself I fucking will. To summarize this story would be about Goldenflower's life, how she fell for Tigerclaw and how she handles the fallout of everything he causes, plus her thoughts and feelings about her kits' treatment, etc. You can read my exact thoughts about how'd this work here

Dustpelt's Disdain- I always found it funny how consistent Dustpelt's been in his dislike of Ashfur. I want to explore why he feels that way. So that's what this story would be about

Scourge's Society- A fic exploring everyone's favorite edgy cat society, Bloodclan! I wish we'd gotten more info on it, and while I think the snipits we see in The Rise of Scourge, Graystripe's Vow, and Leopardstar's Honor are cool, they can definitely be expanded upon. That, and I really want to write about Scourge's days as leader. I feel like Bloodclan wouldn't be as bloodthirsty as they're typically written to be, at least not at first.

Tawnypelt's Reign- ok this one would be diving into AU territory. The Erins did this girl dirty when they made Tigerheartstar leader (he should not have been resurrected like that come on!) That and Tawnypelt's novella sucked balls. So I'd want to write a story about what should have happened

Swiftpaw's Ceremony- A tale of Swiftpaw, and how he was determined to become warrior, at any cost. In his attempts to prove himself worthy, he risks his life and the life of his cousin Brightpaw, to find what's been killing Thunderclan's prey. Before traveling to Starclan, Swiftpaw gets to stick around long enough to see Firestar rise to power, and finally grant him the name he's been after for so long. For this story, I will be borrowing a concept from my fanseries called the Dying Apprentice Ceremony. Swiftpaw will be the first canon cat to be honored with this ceremony

Cinderheart's Ghost- this also dives a little into AU territory. This fic would revolve around Cinderheart, and how she's haunted by the ghost of her dead aunt, Cinderpelt. Except its in a somewhat metaphorical sense. Basically Cinderheart is still a reincarnation of Cinderpelt, but its like. A legitimate reincarnation. Not whatever the hell the Erins were trying to write. Cinderpelt's not actually haunting Cinderheart. But it feels like she is, because sometimes Cinderheart remembers things that she's never experienced, or feels emotional about things that don't pretain to her. And some cats treat her oddly, like Leafpool for example. Also this story would contain some cinderholly romance for otp reasons

I don't know if i'd call what is happening with him and cortex a Ship not even in an "I dislike this" way i'm just like Woah. That's Crazy. N. Gin so freaky. Like it's beyond my perception of a normal Ship they're not even a Divorced OTP like cortex/brio they're just. Involved in such a strange way. But my selfship is the one true romance relationship I am invested in with him honest to god not even kidding that's my wife

BROTP idk I think its cute when he's like nina's designated batshit insane babysitter for the day. I liked seeing them kill ppl together in tag team racing when you played it. maybe i'm biased because I also love nina (*cortex voice* MY DAUGHTER)

Random headcanon idk i like the idea of his palette change in twinsanity and eventually the radical ent. games being that he's like basically undead and all corpsey but he's still kickin like all the crazy shit done to him like the missile life support system is no matter what happens still. SUPPORTING. the hair color change is unrelated he just realized he's goth so he dyed it. I like how he acts like such a 2000s mall goth XD random wafflez no preps type of guy at his old age. cute.

Gender and sexuality headcanon honestly for the most part for years i've been on board with him being a trans male and gay but the more people posting about butch cfo the more it starts to embed in my brain. it's inspired.

OTP umm I enjoy seeing nathan/charles content it's cute i know I have my nathan/pickles bias but idk.. it's cute.. plus I've seen people make nathan/charles/pickles content before it was cool. also just pickles/charles i see very little of but I do kind of see the vision. all the Charles x dick knubbler fan art i've seen is pretty cute too

BROTP I loveeeeeeee when people draw charles and abigail and knubbler being dethstaff friends. bonding over those stupid assholes they work for. i understand why they went with abi leaving to like. Live her own life away from the inherent fuckedupness of working for dethklok but in a world where there were more episodes and they got the chance to like. Write her more as a character and give her more content then i'd like to see her bond with at least the dethstaff I can see it more than her palling around with actual dethklok to be honest. Also Im sorry I have to say it I want more cute dethstaff art with edgar included HE'S WORKING THERE TOO!!!!!!!!!! COME ON. anyways.

When I started shipping them: Very quickly lol. I wanna say it was the scene by the lockers where Fran tells Vilu she likes her "despite everything [Ludmilla's lies, Tomás]" and then after Vilu scribbles "Amiga" in her journal while staring at her (who's giving that dopey thumbs up XD) that solidified it for me. But even before that I was like 'oh, they're so cute, Tomás go away!' (I forget episode numbers but isn't this all before 1x10, maybe 1x12?)

My thoughts: I can't believe no one told me about them before I watched it??? But then it was also kind of nice that I was able to ship it naturally without any preconceived notions on whether I'd like it or not. And was happy to find after I wasn't alone (nor the first) to catch on to their gal pal-ness lol

What makes me happy about them: They're just so soft and affectionate with each other. And fiercely protective. I love all their hugs and hand-holding and cheek kisses. They're just extremely adorable while also sharing really intense storylines - a perfect balance of lots of fluff, but still plenty of angst. I also love how much they love each other even when they're apart. They literally long for the other when they're not around. Fran just about lost her mind when Vilu couldn't make her party. And that moment right before Fran surprised Vilu when she thought she left for Italy when she's staring at her phone dying to call her. I just think before they met they were both kinda lonely even with the people they had in their lives, and it's like you get to watch in real time they make this connection and find that missing piece they didn't know they needed.

What makes me sad about them: That they lose a bit of their appeal in s3. S1&2 their bond was really strong, and s3 it feels like they're not as close because Fran is too afraid to tell her about Diego and Vilu is so focused on winning León back. I do really like their Roxy/Fausta storyline for the absolute ridiculousness it is, but it's tainted by the fact that it's for all the wrong reasons. I wish they still had that storyline but it had more to do with like saving the studio or something? This way it was still fun, without the cringe. I haven't seen the second half yet (I took a mini hiatus that I just restarted last night 3x38 so we're getting to the "secret reveal") so I am interested how my reaction will be to that (but their reunion hug XD)

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: That there's not enough fanfic for them lol. Glad what is out there, but def can use more.

Things I look for in fanfic: I like to see them as in-character as they can be, where I can almost see it happening in the show.

My wishlist: A fic where they're already together? idk maybe there is, but I feel like I mostly read (and also have written) them getting together, i'd be interested in how they're written just as a couple.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I love their canon endgames actually. I ship Leonetta and Diecesca as well but if they ever wanted to do a switch-a-roo I wouldn't hate it lmao.

My happily ever after for them: It's strange because I do ship their canon endgames a lot so I don't mind them just staying friends (weird thing to say about an otp??) so my almost best alternative is somewhere down the line they divorce Diego and León and reconnect after not having seen each other as their lives have led them in different directions. But they find themselves back in BA or something and move in together and find themselves falling in love and wondering if they already had in their teens. (yo someone jot this down, it's got fic potential + to my wishlist!)

i'd love to hear you freddie and FE rants someday! i never liked FE but i find it a lot more interesting nowadays due to a different perception, how they were perhaps intended to deconstruct romanticization, to both themselves and the audience. what i've always liked is how it showed love won't save you from mental illness. is the undoing of that idealism that "enables effy to spiral further into it"?

(but i hate how they went with "the evil psychiatrist". it both punishes effy for her ""man magnetism"" and for getting help. it remembers of when marissa cooper went to a psychologist and met oliver and probably never trusted a psychologist again). it might be realistic that not all psycholists and psychiatrist will actually help you but my girls deserved better, okay)

freddie! oh god. i loved that kid, i really did, he was such a funny buzzkill, but that kid was completely out of it? 

let’s bring back the perfect quote that summarizes it all: Hamlet's basically a teenage boy. He's got all these desires, but he doesn't have the bottle to reach out for them. So, he goes mad, and wanks off about Ophelia, and ends up so boring, somebody has to kill him!

that’s freffy’s story right there. freffy started in a very sweet way, i think. he calls her beautiful and asks her things while cook goes for action and moves fast. effy likes the attention she gets from him, the effect she has on him, she likes that he blushes, he represents something she never allowed herself to have. 

but why, exactly, does freddie love effy so much? he never talks to her. he only watches her from afar and judges her kind of endlessly, they spend literally 30 minutes together once and exchanged a few glances. he gets brave one day and kisses her and it’s all good, but i just don’t... understand... why freddie loves her so much?? lol i do understand why effy gets so intrigued by him and his willingness to love her but WHY does he love her, i’ll never understand. all he did was judge her and make this literal face at her “🥴️” whenever she did anything. but anyway! he loves her and she knows that this kind of love is something that will let her walls down.

then in skins 4... effy allows herself to dive deep into it. freddie takes it. they are now boyfriend and girlfriend and so sweet, freddie is in heaven and super happy, and effy is just getting worse and worse and he literally cannot see it because he only sees what she wants him to see. when effy shows him she’s not ok, then he starts seeing it as something he can fix. then, we find out that freddie’s mom had depression and killed herself. now, he’s not only hamlet, but he’s also edipo.

he starts this obsession that he’s the one who’s going to save effy, since he couldn’t save his mom. effy thinks it’s love, the love that was supposed to save her, it made her weak. freddie says that he’s going to fight her demons and he’s going to save her and as much as it’s heartbreaking to see him try only to find out she cuts her wrists, it’s like--yeah, freddie. you can’t save anyone from themselves.

love is not supposed to do that - you made me go mad / well yes?

but anyway, freddie was just not in a good mental space as well? he was not that healthy for effy? he was ready to run away and drop it all -- and leave her alone with her demons -- because he thought she didn’t love him? he was obsessing over her in a way that actually did kill him? that notebook filled with i love her that people think it’s romantic it’s just wtf to me? how can anyone look at that and think it’s romantic?

and yeah, freddie in his attempt to save effy again, ends up dying himself. like... the kid had a good heart and he really wanted to make things right, but he was just completely lost and didn’t know what to do? poor freddie tbh. but he could never be strong enough to handle her and all that came with her.

i’m with you on the fact that the evil psychiatrist was bullshit, omg, but skins was written by men in the end so yeah.

effy definitely deserved better, but it’s also like... even when she’s taking pills later in life and apparently doing things right with a routine and all, she still doesn’t lose her trait of destroying everything she touches, which had nothing to do with her mental illness, it was just the way she did things. it was just who she was, and no one knew how to deal with her, they all saw whoever she wanted them to see. 

(except tony --you don’t fool me effy stonem-- and cook -- we got a lot in common, me and you)

she has a freddie and a jj in skins 7 and she prefers to stand alone, and cook has an effy!lite and a freddie in skins 7 and in the end he prefers to stand alone too. if this was any other show i’d say it means nothing, but for the couple that had an iconic scene to a song that said we were born to be alone? otp material, omg.

❤: who is more affectionate in public? in private?

Neither is very affectionate in public; Envy is usually disguised as an officer when the two of them work together around other people, and they keep their interactions quite professional; nobody outside of the homunculus family knows there’s anything but a work relationship between them. Envy can get quite affectionate if Kimblee does something that they’re impressed by, complimenting him and calling him “crimson lotus” if they’re feeling really affectionate, but ordinarily tries to hide any feelings of affection for him. If they’re being loudly affectionate, it’s probably performative, in an attempt to assert some power over Kimblee; it’s the quiet moments that are genuine affection. Kimblee is more affectionate than Envy in private, although he is usually only affectionate when it’s obvious that Envy needs comforting; he’s not the best at sensing when Envy needs affirmation.

♡: who is the bigger romantic openly? Secretly?

Kimblee! Although it’s not intentional. He just happens to be better at traditional romantic gestures than Envy is, like writing poems and music, playing the piano, or just knowing the right things to say to sound romantic.

Envy definitely would try to plan something huge, like a trip to (destroy) Aerugo; they’re always afraid that Kimblee is going to leave them, and they try lots of stunts like that in a bid to keep him interested in them.

Both of them would rather die. I think Kimblee could be convinced to do it a bit more easily than Envy could, though.

Kimblee did. Their relationship during the Ishval war was mostly just a very close working relationship, but by the end of it, they were almost friends, at least in Kimblee’s eyes. Kimblee had a long time to stew over his good memories while in prison, and his feelings changed very slowly over the years, gradually developing into something like romantic attraction. He didn’t recognize it as a crush, though, as he’d never had one before, just more of an… admiration, and wanting to spend time with Envy and talk to them, and really wanting to work with them again.

💝: who spends more time (possibly overthinking) what presents to get the other?

Kimblee overthinks it more, wondering what on earth he can give an ageless homunculus that they haven’t already seen/owned. Envy just goes over-the-top with presents for Kimblee, getting him ridiculous extravagant stuff in hopes that it’ll impress him.

Kimblee initiates it, but mostly just when he senses that Envy needs it; he’s actually mostly indifferent to it, and Envy’s the one that actually wants physical contact, and just feels unable to ask. Envy will occasionally initiate something when they’re feeling brave, but it’s rare.

💌: who is more likely to send cutesy texts to the other?

They both might occasionally as a joke (Envy would be more likely would do this), but neither of them would seriously.

I don’t think that either would put much stock in that, but Envy might boredly look into it one day and then freak out if the compatibility isn’t 100% positive.

Envy’s very overprotective once they realize that Kimblee is important to them; they’re always worrying about the idea of him dying or getting hurt. Kimblee, however, becomes fairly protective as well, once he realizes that Envy isn’t invincible; just because they have a healing factor doesn’t mean that he likes seeing them get hurt. They’ll always be watching each other’s backs when in battle.

💚: who tends to get sick more often? who is better at taking care of the other?

Envy isn’t able to get physically sick, so that would be Kimblee. He has a tendency to push himself to his limits without considering if that’s healthy for him or not. Envy tends to get very depressed/self-hating at times, as well, though, although they try to mask it, but those episodes happen fairly often. Kimblee is better than Envy at caretaking, although neither is particularly skilled. They both worry about each other quite a bit, but don’t generally show it, rather trying to take care of each other in subtle quiet ways that they hope the other won’t notice. Neither likes to ask for help, especially not Kimblee.

💜: who said “i love you” first? or, if neither has said it yet, who is more likely to say it first?

It would take them both a long time to admit it to themselves, let alone out loud. Kimblee would do it first, though, if he could see that Envy really needed to hear it.

Neither. But, I am trying to write a soulmate AU for them now, and Kimblee is more open to the idea than Envy is.

Most of the time I've opened up tumblr between Last night and today there's been another one so don't worry I'm definitely still taking them since people keep asking and i can definitely do that.

What i like/dislike about them

I guess i like how he went from pretty much being the clingy sidekick who just preferred to stay in judai's shadow to actually coming out of that to become his own person his own Duelist. He finally allowed himself to use his potential. And tbh he's way better with the combined cyber and roid deck than he was with just roids. He became what he wanted. The next kaiser (not a hell one but just a kaiser). I honestly feel there's a lot of things about him that i don't like, but the thing i don't exactly like about him most is probably how out of everyone who kinda idolised/pedestaled judai he did it the most. He seemed to rely on him too much, when he should have just been confident. And then in the dark world he just pushes it down himself (wicked runes involved or not) i definitely consider his rant before he just runs off to be the true proper trigger to haou (bc if you all hadn't left him be and stunned by your words maybe it could've been prevented.) but i guess really my point is i just really don't like how much he puts himself in judai's shadow

Favourite scene they were in

I think it was 163-4 but tbh he honestly had strong development in just those two episodes. The whole apparently ryo wasn't killed off but instead we decided to bring him back some point into s4 thing. Ryo telling sho he needs to step out of judai's shadow, the whole panic of ryo potentially dying again if the operation fails, judai telling sho that he's gotta listen to the kaisers deck. Sho avenging ryo by kicking the jinzo art masters butt, and learning that the kaisers decks now his and he's the kaiser now. That was strong.

Least favourite scene they were in

Definitely the rant in 136. Like I said, black magic or not I still feel he's mostly the main trigger to the fact that judai became haou (because if you'd just kept quiet and where you were it would've likely just been a one off thing) you call him selfish, excuse me may I remind you how much you've relied on him for the past 2 and a half seasons. But yeah I still get the occasional salt about that

1. Who likes to steal the other person’s hats? Neither one is big into hats, but they’ll often mix up each other’s winter hats on super busy mornings, and that never works outs well for either of them. 2. When do they know that they were meant to be together? They realized this as friends first. When they were kids, sent out on their mission together, there was a silent understanding between them and their other comrades that no one else would ever be able to truly understand them. They were alone, save for one another. And they knew they’d always be together somehow because of that. But they didn’t realize they were meant to be romantically until it was too late, and they were separated forever. Bertholdt swore he always knew on some level, but never dared to tell anyone that. And it  was when Annie heard what happened in Shinganshina that she felt something inside break because she’d somehow always felt that they would end up together too. But that just wasn’t in their cards. Or, if you want something happier, modern au, they realize they’re meant to be together the first time they fight, like really fight, and end up making up hours later because they realize that they’re too scared to lose each other. They rarely fight after that, but in that moment, they know that something beyond them is holding them together, fighting for them. 3. Who would they throw a surprise birthday party for? Reiner. He loves surprises, and always does the most thoughtful things for their birthdays, so they like to make his day a little extra special. 

4. Who asks their partner’s parents/guardians permission to get married? Bertholdt asks Annie’s father and he is so nervous and it’s kind of adorable cause you can tell how much this means to him. And Annie’s father of course takes him seriously, but it’s always been clear to him how much Bertholdt truly cares for his daughter, and he’s very touched by that. 5. How do they take care of one another when they are sick? Annie gets very grouchy when she doesn’t feel well, and Bertholdt is probably the only person who’s able to get her to listen to him. She’s very resistant to anyone trying to tell her what to do, even if they’re trying to help, but she’ll listen when he gently suggests she should rest or something. There’s just something about the way he smiles at her and seems genuinely concerned that gets her to listen. Otherwise, he’ll generally leave her alone, give her her space and take care of her in little ways in the background like leaving tea or medicine out in the kitchen. When it’s reversed, Bertholdt prefers to not be a burden to Annie in anyway and prefers to be left alone, which Annie’s cool with because she tends to panic when it comes to taking care of people. So she usually calls Reiner a bunch to ask him what to do, and for the most part let’s Bertholdt handle himself unless he physically can’t. 6. How do they show their affection? They aren’t a super touchy couple. They show their love mostly through words and acts of service. They like to spend a lot of time together, sometimes going on adventures to new places and other times just cuddling on the couch and reading two separate books. They enjoy each other’s company. And they can read each other super well. They’re both very introverted and need their space, and they need someone who can understand their moods and emotional needs often without being told. That’s one of the perks of being friends first: you learn to read the other person like a book. And they just know each other so well and fit together like a perfect puzzle. They’re cute. 7. What breed of dog would they want to adopt? They’d probably go for a medium sized dog, maybe a beagle or a collie? I could also see them with a husky. 8. Who would win in a pillow fight? Annie. If she can get Bertholdt laughing and off his game, then she can out-strategize him every time. 9. What is their favourite holiday to spend together? Thanksgiving. They love to cook together and spend time with their families. It feels like a low-stress holiday to them, because their families are super chill and usually end up merging together cause it’s just Annie and her dad and the Hoovers are always excited to have them both over. It’s sweet, quiet time spent with people they love and the best food in the world. That’s their ideal holiday. 10. Who would run their partner a bath after a long day? Bertholdt. When Annie’s stressed, she often needs to be left alone for a while to recharge, and Bertholdt respects that as he often needs to do the same. That doesn’t stop him from being as helpful as he can in the background, and he’ll often run her a bath if he thinks it’ll help. And Annie appreciates him so much for this.

And then, one day, while they were cuddling together as the credits of a movie rolled three years after they started dating, it just kind of clicked for them that this was it. This was what it felt like to find the one. This was love. They’d made it. And the funniest part was that it felt so natural that neither even noticed. 3. Who would they throw a surprise birthday party for? They love to throw surprise parties for all their friends. They’re both really good at keeping secrets so they’re the perfect masterminds for surprise parties. 4. Who asks their partner’s parents/guardians permission to get married? Jean asks his parents first and then Mikasa’s parents. He’s never been so nervous and is so sweet and sincere and charming and perfect when he asks, and it’s not like the Ackermens would’ve said no because they know how happy he makes their daughter and how he’ll always be there for her. 5. How do they take care of one another when they are sick? Mikasa usually wants to be left alone, but Jean still goes out of his way to make her feel better, and she really appreciates that. Jean usually needs more attention than normal cause he’s either being overdramatic or is actually in need of serious medical attention (there’s little in-between for him.) He’s lucky Mikasa is a naturally very caring, nurturing person and is willing to put up with him either whining needlessly or nearly dying if unsupervised. 6. How do they show their affection? They’re not super touchy, but all about kissing. Nothing excessive around people, of course, but they just love to show their affection in a bunch of little kisses throughout the day. They’re also almost always holding hands, and love cuddling. But they’re also super big on little acts of service that show their care and appreciation for each other. They’re adorable. 7. What breed of dog would they want to adopt? All of them. They’d probably end up with a little dog like a daschund or a bischon. 8. Who would win in a pillow fight? Usually Mikasa. Granted, that’s usually because she starts them when Jean’s off his guard and defenseless so she wins by default, but she still has fun. 9. What is their favourite holiday to spend together? Halloween. They love getting all dressed up and coordinating costumes and going all out. They love all the creepy decorations. They love going to haunted houses and corn mazes together. They love watching horror movies together and not sleeping together afterwards cause they’re too scared. They just love Halloween so much, and sharing it makes it even better. 10. Who would run their partner a bath after a long day? Both have done this, and they usually end up joining their partner or just chilling in the bathroom with them while they soak in the water. These moments tend to be super therapeutic for both of them, just relaxing together.

There always seemed to be something going on with the Winchester boys. All the hunters knew when their name came up some shit went down, but every time Em recalled the worry in his voice a chill ran up her spine. This time was different.

She pushed on the accelerator to make the trip even shorter than usual; sure that Dean needed her more than he was letting on.

It felt like an eternity before the headlights flood Bobby's living room. 'About damn time.' Dean jumped up from where he'd been sitting and headed to the door to let her in.

"Bobby?!" she called out as she followed Dean through the house, looking for the seasoned hunter. It had been awhile since she'd last come around. The old man was due for a report.

'How does she not know?!'

Dean continued on to the kitchen. Not only was he going to have to explain the whole messed up situation Sam was in, but now he had to tell her about Bobby too. He needed a beer. And so would she once he dropped both those bombshells on her.

"So what the hell is going on?" she asked wondering where Bobby'd gone off to now. "It must be pretty heavy for you to call me," she said with a smirk taking the beer he offered.

He knew she was only giving him a hard time, but she wasn't far off.

Emily wasn't the top of his list when it came to calling for back up. Not because he didn't think she could handle it. Hell she was one of the best hunters he knew. He'd seen her take on a quarter of God's heavenly soldiers solo. This chick was badass.

She would be numero uno on his list, but he couldn't help the tingling sensation he got every time he remembered back on that fight; and an dying Angel's final threat over Emily's continued safety. That Rachel couldn't watch over her forever. Until he could figure out what the Hell that meant, she would stay pretty low for backup calls.

"You half right," he said seriously, popping open his beer and taking a sip. "Listen, Em..."

A lump began to form in his throat. He fidgeted with his beer, trying to figure out the best way to lay it all on her.

Her smirk faded. It was heavy.

"Dean, I was only kidding," she said quietly, breaking the growing and thick silence. "I don't mind being kept out of the Winchester drama. You know I have enough of my own," she added trying to lighten the air.

He huffed sadly.

"Just tell me what's going on," she continued gently; though she hugged herself slightly with worry.

Her voice was comforting, pulling him from whatever depths of sadness he'd begun to fall into.

"Sam is in trouble and Bobby...he, uh..." He took a moment, gathering himself, clearing his throat before continuing. "Bobby didn't make through the last hunt," he said frankly.

A chill ran through her, forcing her blood to run cold. Bobby was dead?! Emily suddenly felt immense guilt over not keeping in better contact with him. She mentally cursed herself as tears welled in her eyes.

"What?" she choked out.

"He's gone Em."

How in the hell was this possible?!? Bobby was the unofficial patriarch of hunters. No way he was taken out during a case with the Winchesters. If anyone was capable enough of protecting others, it was those two. She couldn't grasp the concept that he was actually gone.

"Gone, gone? No ghost or trapped in some other plain of existence or retired from hunting? Just gone?

Dean sorrowfully nodded his head slightly.

"How?"

"We were working a case and things got a little dicey."

She scoffed sarcastically before she could stop herself. Obivously shit went south. Bobby was dead.

Dean shot her a look that conveyed his awareness of the obvious.

"We've been tracking leviathan and one of then shot him. Dick Roman to be exact," he continued ignoring the remark. "Dirtbag really lives up to his name."

"They all do," she replied mostly to herself. "What the hell were tracking Leviathan for?"

"A long story full of angels, demons, and a whole lotta other crazy crap I don't have time to get into right now."

"Well you better make time," she said offended. "You call me out of the blue looking for help, tell me Bobby's dead, Sam's caught up in some shit, then just chalk it up to some 'long story you can't tell me.' Nice try Dean, but you aren't getting out of it that easy. You want my help, then its full disclosure or nothing."

The look she gave him was serious. It wasn't long before he gave in. "Alright. Fine," he agreed. "But you might wanna take a seat," he added pulling a nearby chair over for her.

"Jesus Dean. That is some crazy crap."

"Told you." There was no need to tell her so, but he didn't get many chances to with Syd. She was actually a pretty decent hunter.

"You're lucky you're in such deep shit or I'd punch you," she scoffed. "So now what?"

"I don't know," he admitted with a small shake of his head. "Why the hell else would I have enact the hunter phone tree?"

Just then his phone rang from inside the kitchen.

"This is Dean....Yea. Me too....Uh-huh....Right....That's what I would have done..."

"Dean...?" Emily cautiously asked as his conversation continued.

He held up a finger. Aside from Em, this guy was the only other one to return his calls and his story seemed to be heading in the right direction. He needed the hear this.

"What'd you mean?"

A short while later he hung up.

She gave him an expectant look. "Anything?"

He stared at the phone a moment longer, processing the Intel before replying. "Looks like we have a lead," he said barely hopeful.

"Yeah?"

"Some healer named Emanuel. Apparently he's the real deal. You up for a trip to Colorado?"
