Little Callum sketch cause I’ve been doing a lot of writing/world building for his character the past week for my story Blood in Moderation ;p

The rain came down in sheets, Torch City was a smear of blinking neon glittering over trash strewn streets. Callum pulled his collar tight against the wind, his boots splashing through oily puddles as he walked. Third Street was quiet at this hour- 2 a.m., the witching shift, when even the junkies and hustlers crawled back into their holes, it seemed.

He’d been surprised at the juxtaposition when he started working this area of the city- considering there was a stabbing here at least once a week during the day. His flashlight cut through the haze, bouncing off shattered windows and graffiti-smeared brick.

His lieutenant had stuck him on this route solo, a silent fuck you for the complaint he’d filed a few months back. Callum could still see the bloody face of that 13yo pick-pocket as Rourke and Turner had laid into him, tears streaming down the low-born boy's face. Callum’s report had earned him nothing but cold shoulders from his fellow “brothers” and a locker smeared in dog shit.

He didn’t care. Not tonight. The streets were his.
