Kairi felt like time had slowed around her, the last thing she recalled was stepping in front of Sora and shielding the boy from a incoming attack. The red head thought she could block it but instead it pierced right through her chest and everything felt so dark after that. The girl could hear Sora implore her to keep her eyes open and not leave him and Riku. Blood trickled down her mouth, as the taste of iron entered her mouth. It caused the maiden want to puke but her body felt too weak to do much of anything. “S-sora..” she coughed out, as everything seemed so blurry to her besides him. Kairi could perceive him crying as he held her broken and bleeding body close. There wasn’t many times she had seen Sora cry like this and it broke her heart anytime he showed this side of him. It wasn’t new he didn’t like showing this vulnerable side to people. He’d rather be one who was strong than show this side to others. It was just who he was, and Kairi could understand why he felt that way. “K-Kairi...I can’t feel your heart.”whimpered Sora, as he tried to heal her wound. Blood had stained her pink outfit as the girl weakly smiled at him. She at present recognized what the end result would be and didn’t mind dying if it meant protecting him. The girl’s hand unsteady grasped up and caressed the side of his face. A gentle movement as she wiped away some tears. “I don’t regret saving you..I would’ve gladly done the similar thing again.”

The red head gradually shifted to see Riku close by, with tears in his aquamarine colored eyes. It was rare to see him cry too so, Kairi knew this was severe. The girl had to ask the whitehaired boy for a favor. “Please always watch over Sora...support him.”she coughed, as it felt like her entire body was on fire. The aching feeling in her chest still there but her body was starting to become numb. Oh how she wished that the three of them could go back to more peaceful times but sadly destiny maintained other plans for them. Sora brought her close as he leaned his forehead against hers. Imploring her not to leave over and over. Hating how helpless he felt, as he regarded the life gradually leave the girls body. The boy had defied fate before but this time there was nothing he could perform to alter the course of Kairi’s fate. The moment she decided to protect him was what sealed her ultimate fate.

“Please don’t go Kairi, I can’t take losing you too!” cried Sora, as all his emotions had surfaced and the boy was breaking down. A part of her felt like this was punishment for avoiding death so many times in the past. The boy said his journey started the day he lost her so, maybe it can finally end...and he can find peace. 

“I..Love you...Starlight.” she gasped out, as Kairi pulled herself up. HEr hands cupped Sora’s face as she kissed him. The two could taste iron in the kiss but neither cared. The girl truly did love the boy with all her heart and soul. Her body fell back after a moment and the brown haired boy caught her.Kairi’s purple colored eyes slowly closing and The only thing she could hear was Sora agonizing cries and the sound of rain. 

My heart can’t take it
