Shoulds Don't Matter
I have become enamoured for some strange reason in the Mormon Stories podcast. This is not because I have a deep connection to Mormonism itself; Mormonism is a preposterous faith built out of a sex cult made by a 19th century con artist whose lies were fantastically obvious if you don’t induce the extremely special pleading of the faith.
Still, regardless of whether or not it has real or true claims of supernatural empowerment, Mormonism is an interconnected set of religious practices and moral frameworks constructed as a broad set of communication principles that spreads and dominates sections of the world (admittedly through those promises of supernatural empowerment, but still). Even if Mormonism is fake, Mormonism is real; it exists, and it maintains a shared fiction across upwards of thirty people. With that, comes culture, and with that culture, comes counterculture.
One element of this counterculture is John Dehlin, who started out as a Mormon Podcaster who wanted to help people hold onto their faith and now is probably seen as anti-Mormon. And I talk about him, with my Non-Brighamite Mormon friend, where he provided the summary of Dehlin as someone who played by the rules, who did things by the standards of the church, and then when all his work brought attention on something that the church said would change the church, when he did everything right in the name of improving things for Mormons, they instead excommunicated him.
Which is to say, he did the thing he should, according to the rules, and then it didn’t work. This is because should doesn’t matter.
The idea is appealing in that when we approach an idea from a set of postulates, especially when engaging with someone in a position of power, there is a hypothetical scenario where when you do something and follow the rules, there is an outcome that according to those rules is supposed to lead to a specific, actionable result. That is to say, there’s something that should happen.
It’s so unfair feeling.
It’s not just the Mormon church by the way. It’s true for almost all power structures around us, when the conversation is about changing that power structure. Cryptocurrency is a space where there’s an ideological commitment to an absolute set of immutable laws, and that means that if power is ever endangered in that space, the rules will be followed, right? And then people are shocked to find that in fact, a bunch of the existing network of cryptocurrencies have already forked and changed what they’re doing to reverse particular things that the people in power don’t want to have happened. The entire universe of GME Apes are people who are convinced that when they successfully manipulate the stock market with a collaborative buy-in (which okay, don’t… don’t we’ll talk about them in depth another time), but they are convinced that when they bring the US Economy to its knees, the US Government will respond by following the rules and handing them a cheque for a gorillion dollars, which again, is what (in their very silly and twisted landscape), ‘should’ happen.
Because there is a belief that you are dealing with rules, which are there for the system to work.
And that’s not what they’re for.
The rules of a system are not by any means the rules that make the system work. Typically speaking they only work because of the people they exempt from how they work. Game rules only matter in the game because those rules have no applications on anyone who is not obeying those rules in or outside of that game. Those rules are for the people playing along with the game. The person who manufactures the game and sells the game is not someone who cares one whit about what the rules say or don’t say, because even though they are strongly associated with those rules, they are by no means beholden to those rules. Those rules are unrelated to what they do.
It is in this regard that for many great systems in your life, you are confronting things that are meant to keep you in the space of a player, but were put there by a distributor. If you tell someone that the rules are broken or there’s a better way to do things, there is almost certainly no actual method for fixing or addressing those things because things the system can affect are within the system. The things that are outside the system, the operators and managers and the beneficiaries of that system, typically have nothing to do with the rules of the system. In a very real way, what a system is meant to operate on cannot possibly be the point of that system, because the rules are there for things inside the system and the benefits of the system are its output. Your workplace may let you change the rules with much fuss and anger, but in the end you’re still dealing with a workplace, they’re not going to let you union negotiate away a boss as a fundamental part of how that system works.
The system of the Mormon church is not for the the function of the Mormon church; the Mormon church is a system for the consolidation of power and resources that the entity called the Mormon church feeds. The purpose of that system is what it does, and what it does is, while providing whatever community holdings it wants to espouse, is concentrate enormous amounts of wealth in the hands of a tiny number of people while also permitting dreadful levels of abuse throughout its body. And when that is the purpose, anything that threatens that is the problem, which means that any change to that system is itself, the problem. You can rearrange the chairs in your temple but no amount of negotiation is going to tell a system that’s designed to abuse queer people people that actually, they shouldn’t do that. It’s doing what it wants to do because of what it values and what it thinks is the best outcome. The dead teenagers are not important to the system, and you can tell, because any amount of dead teenagers has not changed things.
The aim of power is power. Never more, never less.
And all of this is because ‘should’ doesn’t matter.

Traditionally, nothing happens in the period between Christmas and New Year. It’s a lull devoid of anything newsworthy whatsoever. Except in the world of bitcoin. Miners never stop mining and exchanges never stop exchanging because bitcoin never sleeps – and it certainly doesn’t call in a week-long vacation just cos it’s the holidays. As a consequence, neither did we. While other media sites posted pre-written reviews of the year, we delivered the freshest news as it broke this week in bitcoin.

Bitcoin Ends 2017 as It Began
When dawn broke on January 1st, 2017, there was no inkling of the momentous and historic year that bitcoin was about to embark on. It wasn’t until March that things started getting real crazy, and that breakneck pace was maintained for the remainder of the year. In these final moments of 2017, bitcoin has decided to go out as it came in: quietly and without much fanfare. Prices have been in something of a slump for a few weeks now, leaving the mainstream media with little to get themselves worked up over.
That doesn’t mean that 2017 has ended with a whimper though. Hell naw. Away from price considerations, a lot has happened this week in bitcoin, from new tax legislation to the arrival of a pesky centralized coin determined to launch one final attempt at The Flippening before the year is done. We’ll dispatch ripple back to the bank vaults whence it came shortly, but let’s start with the rest of the week’s news.
One Whole Bitcoin or One Gorillion Shitcoins?
What has more value – a whole bitcoin or a big bag of alts? The answer surely lies in the former, but with most new entrants to the cryptocurrency markets priced out of owning one whole BTC, cheap alts are catching the eye of investors. The long-term value of these coins is debatable and indeed dubious, but for now at least they’re enjoying a bounce – sometimes an extremely big bounce in the case of this month’s winners, as we reported.
Some of those winners rapidly lost their new price points as quickly as they’d been acquired, it should be noted, but that’s what happens when you panic buy altcoins that have been shilled by McAfee. Live and learn. One of the more intriguing stories to emerge this week was that some cryptocurrency exchanges have been closing their doors to new customers. Bitcoin’s so hot right now there’s no more room at the inn.
20 Years Ago, This Happened
It’s common to embark on retrospectives as the year draws to a close, but this week in bitcoin we traveled back 20 years to revisit a book called The Sovereign Individual: Mastering the Transition to the Information Age by James Dale Davidson and Lord William Rees-Mogg. We wrote:
Freeing money means freeing people. They explain, “Each transaction will involve the transfer of encrypted multi-hundred-digit prime number sequences…the new digital gold standard or its barter equivalents will be almost impossible to counterfeit…All receipts will be verifiably unique,” which is so exactly spot-on it can take a reader’s breath.
Fork off With Your Coin Splits
Thursday was all about forks, and the growing weariness towards these hastily contrived and often badly thought out bitcoin spin-offs. Bitcoin diamond, bitcoin god, and Segwit2x have all been given the thumbs down by the cryptocurrency community, though bitcoin private, a relaunched Zclassic, looks more interesting. Eric Wall had a lot to say about it in his weekly trading column. Speaking of trading, this week’s most popular post was Seven Deadly Trading Mistakes Every Rookie Makes. Be honest: you’ve committed at least one of these, even if it hurts too much to talk about it.
As the weekend drew in, we published a thought-provoking piece on the difficulties of cashing out from crypto to fiat. Seems you might have to wait a while to get your hands on that high performance sports car your Telegram trading buddies have all been touting. Friday’s other essential read was on amendments to the US tax bill, which will compel cryptocurrency holders to tread carefully from now on – if they weren’t already.
It Started With a Tsunami and Ended With a Ripple
2017 was all about bitcoin, except for those occasional weeks when it wasn’t. Remember when ethereum started getting ideas above its station, back in spring? Or how about that time when bitcoin cash looked set to land its own flippening in early November? The last of this year’s challenges to bitcoin came from litecoin…or at least so we thought. Then, out of nowhere, ripple – the great sleeper of the cryptocurrency markets – went on a mazy run, culminating in it usurping ethereum to claim second spot this week.
You had a lot to say about ripple’s insurgency in the comments section, and like many here at news.Bitcoin.com were less than enamored with this centralized currency with its insane pre-mine. Five-figure bitcoin doesn’t seem that crazy, all things considered, but $2 ripple? Now that’s a head-turner. We’ve no wish to sign off on the ultimate review of 2017 by speaking of inferior cryptocurrencies, so let’s return to where we started: by toasting what has been a remarkable year for bitcoin.
With the crypto community and the world at large now fully aware that decentralized currencies are here to stay, 2018 is shaping up to be the most eagerly anticipated year since the birth of bitcoin. Whatever it holds, we’ll be there to report on the latest drama, scaling solutions, and privacy developments as they unfold. Have a great New Year and we’ll see you on the other side for more of the same.
Do you feel optimistic about the fate of bitcoin and the cryptocurrency markets in 2018? Let us know in the comments section below.

Warning: Dictator Hitler videos are high power magnets which attract worthless comments from totally uneducated illiterate morons. Even if your English language skills are limited, it doesn't hurt to have a civilised debate. Hitler was a megalomaniac dictator and many Germans got carried away by his promises to make Germany great again after the humiliation of the Versailles treaty. The tragedy is that many Germans did not at all want him in power. For many Germans the horror of the dictator's iron fist rule was clearly foreseeable. During his 4500 days in power his crazy ideas totally ruined many millions of lives. This is a manipulative video which pretends to examine the implications of a secretly made recording from 1942 of the first 11 minutes of Adolf Hitler's private conversation with Finland's General Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim. Viewers can make up their own mind about what they hear, especially if they don't understand German absolutely perfectly. The commentary is similar to many other war related propaganda films produced by biased USA "historians" for brainwashing future generations. The pot calling the kettle black. Be selective about what parts, if any, you accept as truth and what you reject as biased conjecture. Even the type of music producers use has a profound effect on how visual content comes across. I often switch off audio and make up my mind based on what the camera has captured. For other videos i.e. Nurnberg trials, just listen to the audio. At the end of the day it's a combination of parts of different videos and books which will give the best overall understanding of any historic event. Fundamental divisions amongst totally confused viewers become obvious when reading the comments in this or any of the hundreds of similar war documentaries on YouTube. Most comments strings for WW2 videos inevitably turn into a war of words between pro and anti Zionists. Hare brain comments which are made purely for the sake of causing offence will be removed. Contrary to suggestions Hitler made many speeches in which he spoke with a fairly normal tone of voice. Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRsl53... During the visit, an engineer of the Finnish broadcasting company YLE, Thor Damen, succeeded in recording the first 11 minutes of Hitler's and Mannerheim's private conversation. This had to be done secretly, as Hitler never allowed others to record him off-guard. Damen was given the assignment to record the official birthday speeches and Mannerheim's responses and following those orders added microphones to certain railway cars. Unfortunately, Mannerheim and his guests chose to go to a car that didn't have a microphone in it. Damen acted quickly, pushing a microphone through one of the car windows to a netshelf just above where Hitler and Mannerheim were sitting. After 11 minutes of Hitler's and Mannerheim's private conversation, Hitler's SS bodyguards spotted the cords coming out of the window and realized that the Finnish engineer was recording the conversation. They gestured to him to stop recording immediately, and he complied. The SS bodyguards demanded that the tape be immediately destroyed, but YLE was allowed to keep the reel, after promising to keep it in a sealed container. It was given to the head of the state censors' office Kustaa Vilkuna and in 1957 returned to YLE. It was made available to the public a few years later. It is the only known recording of Hitler speaking in an unofficial tone. There is an unsubstantiated story that during his meeting with Hitler, Mannerheim lit a cigar. Mannerheim supposed that Hitler would ask Finland for help against the Soviet Union, which Mannerheim was unwilling to give. When Mannerheim lit up, all in attendance gasped, for Hitler's aversion to smoking was well known. Yet Hitler continued the conversation calmly, with no comment. In this way, Mannerheim could judge if Hitler was speaking from a position of strength or weakness. He was able to refuse Hitler, knowing that Hitler was in a weak position, and could not dictate to him.CategoryLicenseEntertainmentStandard YouTube LicenseSHOW LESSCOMMENTS • 2,876 Add a public comment...Top comments Pinned by RØL Gtester20142 weeks ago (edited)funny (actually more sad than funny) to read all the Hitler fanboy/fangirl comments, getting all worked up how their beloved Fuehrer became victim of this horrible, horrible piece of History channel low budget production. For instance, consider 7:45 when the narrator speaks about Roosevelt in a morally righteous light, attempting to prevent war. And Hitler is mocked as partaking in a "twisted, standup comic routine". But the context is not explained properly: In the letter, Roosevelt (and his British and French cronies) attempt to persuade Hitler to not intervene in "independent" nations, but the reason Hitler makes a joke out of it and the crowd laughs is because within the letter, Palestine, Syria, Egypt and Iran are mentioned; these were not independent nations, rather, they were Middle Eastern colonies that the British and French had used trickery and deceit to overtake following WW1. There was even a Palestinian rebellion for independence taking place against the British at the time, and this is why the crowd laughs so hard when Palestine is mentioned. Hitler was exposing the shameless hypocrisy of THEIR telling HIM not to interfere with others, but the narrator wants you to think it's just Hitler being a sadistic bastard!Read moreReply 332  View all 33 replies Bul Mnstr1 year agoAllot of american bullshit trying to make hitler look that he wanted everything for him self. ⚡⚡- Nazi SS insignia
((())) - With a name in the middle, it's used to identify/accuse people of Jewish ancestry
3%ers/lll%ers - Three percent'ers. A militia group that bases themselves symbolically on the incorrect statistic that only 3% of men in the original 13 colonies fought against the British. A flashy signifier to let other far right groups know that they will absolutely take up arms for America
9% - The supposed percentage of the worlds population that is fully/pure white
13% - Anti black dog whistle for the false claim that black men make up 13% of the population but commit 50% of homicides
100% - Pure race white
1-11/111 - Used almost exclusively for the Aryan Knights with 1=A and 11=K in accordance to their numerical alignment in the English alphabet
12 - With no law enforcement context, 12 could read as Aryan Brotherhood with 1=A and 2=B in accordance to their numerical alignment in the English alphabet
13 - Used almost exclusively for the Aryan Circle with 1=A and 3=C in accordance to their numerical alignment in the English alphabet
18 - Adolf (A=1) Hitler (H=8)
21-2-12(21/2/12) - Used only for The Unforgiven as a shorthand for their motto. Unity (U=21) Brotherhood (B=2) and Loyalty (L=12)
23-16 - White (W=23) Power (P=16)
109/110 - Representative of the number of counties Jewish people have been expelled from which (depending on which type of fascist you're dealing with) some would consider America to be/will be included, hence the 110
311 - Representation for the KKK meaning 11 (K) three times
737 - Used only for Public Enemy Number 1 (PEN1) in accordance to their numerical alignment on a telephone keypad
1423 (14/23) - Used almost exclusively for the Southern Brotherhood. Unlike other white supremacist organization who follow numeric symbolism, they instead choice to represent themselves under The 14 Words AND The 23 Precepts
1488 (14/88) - 14 being David Lane's Fourteen Words and 88 being the eight letter of the alphabet twice (HH) as a placeholder for Heil Hitler
6,000,000,000,000/6 trillion - Not only limited to trillion. Some variants feature billion, zillion, gorillion etc. A mocking reference for the 6 million lost to the Holocaust
AKIA = KKK shorthand for "A Klansman I Am"
American Identity Movement (AIM) - The chosen reformation name for Identity Evropa. Definitely a source of confusion though since the change was made last year but members (ex members?) still choose to identify as Identify Evropa members
Blood and soil - "Blut und boden". Lebensraum ideology claiming that the original (blood) descendants belong to their original (soil) land
Blueish - Placeholder for Jewish. Can sometimes be found in manipulated/edited photos that gives the subject a more blue tint
Coal burner - "Race traitor" white person who dates black people
Clown world (🤡🌍) - The normalization/continuous birth of Jewish, Muslim, poc, LGBT+, autistic, disabled people will make the world (west) a circus
Day of the rope - A fictitious day where mass murders of Jewish/Muslim/Poc/Race traitors will occur
Discussion club - Alt right meeting
EST - Purposefully meant to be confused with Eastern Standard Time but when used in a context that doesn't have anything to do with time, it's actually shorthand for Every Single Time. Meant to place blame on Jewish people whenever anything "bad" happens. (Can also be used against Muslims and pocs)
FGRN - KKK slogan. "For God, Race, and Nation"
Fren - "Far Right Ethno Nationalist". Plays into internet subculture baby talk (think uwu or cummies or woofer) with common phrases being "frens don't fite frens" or "no fren wars!!"
Globalism - Obvious anti immigration nonsense
Great Replacement - Claim (falsely stated as scientific fact) that immigration and increased birth rates of foreign born people is leading to white genocide. (May sometimes include interracial relationships)
Happy Merchant - The written version of that ONE anti semitic drawing that's a standard for all anti semites to post that we've all seen a dozen times before. No I'm not gonna post it -_-
Identitarianism/Identitarianist - Nice way of calling themselves Nazi
JQ - "Jewish Question". Debate on the status of the civil, political, and all around humanity of Jewish people
Jwoke - Someone who is supposedly "woke" to the "ruling status" and "crimes" that Jewish people commit
Listen and Believe - The far right belief that liberals (and some moderates and centerists) are more willing to allow/accept the talking points of fascist if presented by someone they view as a leader, role model, trustable, or at the very least, level headed
Loxist/Loxism - Combination of lox (brined salmon commonly enjoyed by Jewish people) and racism
Milk before meat - Mormon origin. Used when recruiting/softening up "normies" to far right ideology. Offering up soft and digestible fascist talking points to gauge openness before giving them more hearty fascist ideology
NazBol - THERE'S A LOT TO UNPACK HERE! NazBol is, simply put, Nazism and Bolshevism smashed together. With Bolshevism originating as a faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party, and Nazis just being your standard Nazi. Bolsheviks were a working class alliance who greatly opposed Russian involvement in WW1, heavily favored unity amongst the poorer class, and coined the slogan Peace, Land, and Bread. Absolutely baffling how one can force these two polar opposite political magnets to collide, but APPARENTLY the mental gymnastics behind it is that it's a Third Position political ideology. Basically NazBols espouse the standard ideas of Nazism (eugenics, ethnic cleansing etc etc) but heavily favor certain leftist ideologies because they will give a better quality of life to the chosen few left behind. Ain't it funny!?
Nibba - The n word
Noticer - ~see jwoke~
ORION - Our Race Is Our Nation
Our guy - A far righter/believed to be far righter
Power level - Dragon Ball Z origin. Indicative of someone's involvement in far right beliefs. The more of a fascist you are, the higher your level is
ROA - Race Over All
RWDS - Right Wing Death Squad
Skype - Anti semitic k word
WAU - Women for Aryan Unity
Windmill - Swastika
YKW - "You know who". A question where the answer is Jewish people. ~see EST~
Zioworld - A replacement for Zionist Occupied Government meant to be less obvious
I'm also including fascist symbols. Although not technically dog whistles themselves, they still rely on obscurity to thrive
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here are some more detailed/extra dog whistles
BONUS: Here's a video dispelling the stupid Great Replacement myth sinces it's extremely informative and relevant
youtube
(Disclaimer: This list is by no means perfect or binding. ANY type of person can have a skull on their body, but have it be used soley for their grimdark aesthetic. You can also have someone with a hammer in their profile, but have it be representative of their work as a carpenter. Or you can have someone be referred to as "our guy" just because he's the life of the party! Certain pieces of dog whistle symbols and lingo can be totally innocent on their own (Pepe), BUT many literally CANNOT exist in any capacity that doesn't tie into fascism ((())). This is why they need to be learned and context needs to be added to every situation and sentence they are found in. Because the kid in the tiktok begging their fren to come dance with them doesn't need to be burned at the stake. And the Kekistan citizen putting blue filters over celebrity pics with a milk icon in the Twitter header DOES NOT need to be given the benefit of the doubt.)
When are you people going to learn what a dogwhistle is
